Friday... don't know what will happen then.  Might have a boring day Friday.  Ah well, that's not a bad percentage.
Gather all remaining leftovers, and truck 'em about three and a half hours west... :fork:

What, you won't have a fridge full of your own leftovers?  The biggest problem during da holidays is where to put all the leftovers.  Thank you Lord for cool whip bowls.   :great:

Yeah, you probably have the same problem we do - everyone here is a good cook, so we have waaaay more food than we could eat.  Uncle Brent and Aunt Lisa alone bring enough for the whole family, with their four dishes or so.  But it's all good and it's all usually eaten before it can spoil.    :teeth:

Oops! *hides in shame from Roscoe* I keep forgetting it. I tried to photocopy it, but that didn't work. I've gotta try taking pics of it with my camera or something. I'll try to do it tomorrow or Tuesday. But feel free to bug me about it if I forget (yet again).

Mel.... I'm not even sure what to say to all of that, since it's almost all stuff we've talked about many times before. I wish I could magically fix things. But I know that you know that I know why you've chosen some of the things you have. And I also know something about why some people disagree with that. But it's YOUR business - not theirs. So I will just pray for you, and send you lots of *HUGS* and hope things look much much better in the morning.

I got lost somewhere around the second I know that you know that... but it's not my business anyway.  And I can't even say I feel your pain, because I have never dealt with anything like that so I can't know what it's like.  But I do hope it gets better.   :-\

My night has not been as bad as the previous one. But I'm still in a significant amount of pain. So I will be headed to the ER this morning. It's 2am now. I'll be going about 6:30am. I'll keep y'all posted. Of course.
Have you slapped that one dude from Indiana with a pie in the face today?

Roscoe

Good morning.  :hi: I'm back at work...Wednesday come quickly!!!
But- as the song says- one day at a time. And I'm glad that's the way life is. If I had to deal with two of the days I've had lately at the same time, I think I'd scream.  :-\

Been praying for you Mel.  *hugs*  I think with you on my mind it made me dream about you.  You had come for a visit and we were vac'ing the church together and then shopping for a hooded sweatshirt.  It was so irritating that we couldn't find a decent hoodie to buy... lol  Totally random.

Tackling all laundry and correcting schoolwork.  Tomorrow I'm packing everybody's stuff and cleaning the church. Wednesday, clean the house, cook what I need to and we drive down to Tulsa!

We watched a video at church last week about how to deal with the Holidays when you've lost a loved one.  It seemed really good so I thought I'd post a link.  It's Christian and practical and gracious.

Thanksgiving is coming

Had a bad yesterday and today doesn't look much better. Finding car parts is ridiculous. Everyone has to order it and it won't be here 'til Wednesday or Thursday

kkay:  Try a junkyard?  Couldn't hurt.

In local news, I reviewed my finances and reluctantly canceled the trip to browse through thousands of records.  I could afford it, but it would be... injudicious at this time.  They'll still be there after the new year.

Instead today, I think I'll try an idea someone brought to the church dinner yesterday, a crock pot cake.  Basically mix up some cake batter and put in the crock pot, then cook up some chocolate pudding and dump in crock pot, then dump chocolate chips on top of that and let it cook.  Except yesterday's crockpot cake was with a box cake mix and instant pudding... you know I'm not going there.

I hope and pray that you are well, Melody! Yeah, can't wait for Thanksgiving, Kkay. Turkey, stuffing, SKINNED (lol)mashed potatos and gravy, corn, cranberry sauce, black olives, pumpkin pie with whipped cream, apple pie. I think my brother in law is making teriduckin this year! Oh we are so blessed.

Well, the son seems to be too energetic to be sick. He's playing with his sea monkeys and he is getting in and out of bed. Think i've been had. LOL

Have a good day everyone.
My hubby's nickname is shep and that would make me ladyshep. :)

He doesn't have any way to even get to one. And I'm not sure that he could get to it easily. He'd have to take the tire off, take the wheel cylinder off then somehow remove the brake line.

Today's just gonna be an awful day. UNLESS, by some miracle, someone can help him get the new brake line bent just the right way so that he can actually install it.

Bleh.

That stinks.  A predicament doesn't mean the whole day has to be awful though.

It's midyear and I'm changing up Hannah's curriculum.  Yep, that's how we roll.  LOL  We're switching from ACE to A Beka.

You don't wanna get used brake parts if you can avoid it anyway.  :smirk2:
And I wish y'all were closer. I believe I've got a tubing bender at home that would make quick work of that...

May I ask why? I've been rolling the idea around about homeschooling and thought about going with ACE but maybe A Beka is better??

I think he's gonna take it to a mechanic for the brake line then do the rest himself. It's just gonna end up costing a whole lot more than we expected.

I just hope he can get all that done and get the rest done today. He's already wasted a day on it. He started at 8 a.m. yesterday and worked on it til around 7 p.m. So far today he probably has about 4 hours in.

Just for the record, I'm prejudiced on this....I'm a former ACE student (pre-k through 9th grade, My mama was our school's kindergarten teacher) and love the program. My daughter goes to a small school using that now. They used Abeka's kindergarten program, then switched to ACE for first grade and up.
I'm very pleased thus far. Chey reads better than most third graders, and is doing excellant in all other subjects and seems to be thriving.
but as I said- I'm prejudiced. When I transferred to public school, I was ahead of my grade level by two years in all but mathmatics which was, and is, my personal weakness. And I was right where I needed to be in that.

I like ACE, we've been using it for years, also AlphaOmega, but for Hannah, it's too easy.  It wasn't that it wasn't easy for Andrew either but his brain to writing skills were such that it evened out.  Hannah, if I let her, is done by March with all of her subjects.  This is great for including field trips but she's not slowing down, even as the curriculum is supposed to be getting more challenging each year, and it is, it's still too easy for her.

Andrew is in public school now and we plan on putting Hannah back in also come middle school probably.  She's right on target for her grade level but I think she can actually excel.  Her early elementary years I didn't push it because of her personality but she's developed good study habits and self motivation to be able to persevere. My son is not the same personality so though he is smart, his learning style is such that doing something different wasn't an option. She gets a great deal of satisfaction from scores and completed goals so nows a good time as any to utilize that.  If it doesn't work out, we can go right back to Ace and she wouldn't miss a beat.
