kmymbir I was waiting for you to mention what we discussed about the possible activity at this meet-up.  Or do you want me to set it out?
"Do you sing at church?"
"Yes I sing at church, I sing at home, at work, in the car, at the supermarket, at Wal-Mart..."

Have you slapped that one dude from Indiana with a pie in the face today?

kmymbir

I was unsure if you were ready to share it, but now that I'm aware you are okay with it I'll share, If I miss anything Isaac please fill it in.

 I am very excited to announce that Isaac and I have come up with some fun entertainment! :joker: Calm down it is not Seth in a chicken costume jumping out of a giant cake.  :biglaugh:

Karaoke! :sing: :sing:
We plan to bring some of our own sound tracks, but if anyone else have some available to bring it would be great, the more to choose from the better!
Game rules will be announced when we get there.

For those of you who are daring like myself, I plan to get someone to pick a random song for me from a stack, therefore if you have lyrics please bring a copy!!

We plan to bring everything that will more than likely be needed to make this game fun, but if there is anything you would like to help with please tell Isaac, he's going to be the man in charge of this one  ;) I'm just in it for the laughs.

Are we required to participate? I can't sing. Don't let my name fool you.

Well, I can tell you that I won't be singing any karaoke. :ugly:

No it is not required, just something that would be fun, except for Mel she is required because she lied. Melody if you claim not to be able to sing again i'm kicking you off the platform next service because it means you must simply be up there for the attention lol.

HA!  I figured, with all she has mentioned about being on stage, something must be amiss.

I was thinking Friday night, after some of Bro. Papa's barbecue had been safely put away where it not spoil (burp) we could have a karaoke night.  I know some of you are able to sing well but I have not heard you sing... even the lady who was at my church, was going to sing, but somehow got out of it.  *ahem*

I'm thinking about singing "Make a wish" by Wayne Watson, but I want to see if I can look at this soundtrack and redo the guitar on the chorus first... I don't have it quite right.  Or maybe "Four days late."

Well we have decided we will have a rule that the last person to sing picks the next singer.  If the one picked doesn't want to sing (and we KNOW some of you can sing... ) he has to tell a story.  And not just a short little, cheap little joke.

Trust me, you will BEG me to just tell a story......I think I'll decline this invite... :)

Its against my comfort level to be anywhere karaoke is involved.

We would love to hear any story you would see fit to share with us, I'm sure.  Win-win.

I am assuming this is only Christian songs?  I'll listen to y'all sing Christian songs, but:

1.  I'm not singing ;)
2.  I don't want anyone that doesn't want to sing to feel pressured
3.  I don't want to listen to any non-christian songs unless it's something like Itsy Bitsy Spider or She'll be Coming around the Mountain or some such.

I'm not even that spiritual.  I just flat out don't want to listen to karaoke.  LOL

Awww, I was hoping we could get Roscoe to sing "La Vita Loca."   :biglaugh:

Nah, it would be christian only.  Sorry, forgot to specify that.

I'm surprised that it seems this will be difficult. I guess deep down I was hoping it would turn into a time of worship.

And it may.... I think most of us are looking forward to meeting everyone though, and just relaxing. Despite the persona some of us have online, I think you will find that some of us are more reserved in real life, in some ways......

I'm one of those, to an extent. I am very uncomfortable singing, ect. in front of other folks. I've really had to work and struggle to overcome my fear of the public to preach. The idea of singing in front of anyone other than my mirror or the dude in the car next to me at a red light terrifies me.

Regardless, I'm looking forward to meeting everyone and enjoying the company.

I should of known that, but I am the same online, as I would be in person. But I will figure it out.

So is Jeremy.  People's friendliness isn't different, not everyone wants to be in the spotlight. I'd guess that everyone is the same but the way people interpret eachother online varies.  From all the hours I've talked to Mel, I think she is the same as she is online.

I think you would get the results you're looking for by just everyone sitting around singing common old hymns at the end of the day.  Maybe a guitar & campfire.  Then no one is put on the spot or being stared at.  I love to sing, but for Jesus, not for people's entertainment.  That idea, too, makes me very uncomfortable.

If these fuel injectors work [pray they do!!!] and I can muster up a spare tire, I may just try to make the journey to this shindig. That is completely dependent on being able to be off Friday and probably driving overnight thursday/friday morning. Oh and I would need to crash on a floor or something because gas to get me there in this thing will break me. lol. But it's a big IF the car gets fixed...

I will hopefully be able to try attending the next meet up...

So it's less than a month now.  Anyone decided on a specific hotel/motel?  We need to settle on which town, which hotel, so we can all get rooms and get them all in the same hall preferably.
