Jerbil, you might be interested to know, I was dreaming last night about trying to mow hay with our John Deere 60, and Oliver mowing machine, which in the dream was a 72, wherever that number came from.  It was horrible....I kept running into things and nearly turning over etc. etc.  lol

We always used to mow hay with the Farmall H.  :P

Hi

Just heard that farmers are suing Monsanto, finally!  I pray they win the socks off that company.

Read the article <a href="http://www.motherearthnews.com/natural-home-living/farmers-sue-monsanto-over-seed-contamination.aspx">Here.[/url]

They are reaping what they've sewn.

Howdy y'all!

This overtime doesn't leave much time for working on projects, but (after too, too long) I'm tinkering with a soundtrack.  Any requests?

On second thought, maybe I shouldn't ask for requests.  The girl in church who asked me to make a soundtrack for "My heart, Your home" won't sing it now, on the grounds that she is too shy.  All that work for nothing.  :smirk2:
"Do you sing at church?"
"Yes I sing at church, I sing at home, at work, in the car, at the supermarket, at Wal-Mart..."

Sir John -  Re the first: We wish you could come too. :) Re the second: Oh no! Poor guys! and poor bride! *lol*

Isaac - Soundtracks are evil. :P They so seldom seem to be able to be used without glitches and hiccups. *wry grin* Ah well, I suppose they are a necessary evil sometimes.

Who's glitching and hiccuping?  We have a few singers who use them by default and they usually go off without a hitch.  What is it that hiccups over there?

Please pray for my Aunt Rachel.  She is being life flighted to Tulsa for emergency surgery because of a brain anyerism.  She is the reason I'm in church today. Thanks.

Praying, Melodya. Please keep us posted when you hear more.

And *tight hug* to you. Waiting for news regarding someone you love is so hard.

Not sure. I know nothing about sound systems and such. Which is probably our problem right there, actually. My brother knows what he's doing back there in the media booth, but most of the other people who help out really don't know what they're doing. It's a bit frustrating sometimes, but I'm grateful for (cheerful!) volunteers, so I won't complain. :) It would be nice if we could get them more training though.

It's all a matter of practice, and sometimes preparation.  If someone is using a soundtrack I usually try to at least do a sound check, make sure the singer can hear it in the monitors and it's not going to blast the congregation out in the main speakers.  And I put the CD in before the service starts and have it cued and ready to go.

The practice part, that applies to the whole sound booth.  Last Sunday our main sound cut out, but I had had practice with what is connected to where (I'm the one who set it up in the first place) so I just stole a monitor input and slapped it into the mains... and it worked.   I never had any formal training with working a sound booth, I just observed and experimented with audio cables and adapters and looked up a few diagrams online.  All it is, is practice.  ;)

*nod* Yeah, that's pretty much how my brother learned, too. He helped out a friend at some district events and whatnot, kept his eyes opened, asked a lot of questions, and then played around with it at our home church. But since he's a homeschooler and very used to studying on his own, and observing and all that, it likely helped him pick it up faster. Dunno. But he's a whiz. :) Hmm... if you're ever out in Oregon, maybe we could talk you two into doing a sound system crash course for several small churches in the area. :thumbsup2:

Practice makes weirdos.  :smirk2:

I pray your aunt is alright, Mellow.

Been painting the bean crib roof, and part of the breeding pen wall.  Didn't have enough primer to do all of the wall.

When I was up on the roof, my weird uncle next door was outside and kept trying to tell me there was some little black bird over there that looked like it was hungry and he didn't know if it was mine.....  I was afraid that was some ploy....they'll ask you or tell you something wacko to draw you into some nosey discussion about something else or other weird things.... :-?  Then his daughter, my cousin, was over there and he was talking to her about it, so then she asks me about it to verify for him....  She said it was probably a crow.  lol  I'm thinking, okay, how in the world is some kind of weird baby bird of mine that can't fly supposed to get from over here up a huge hill to the yard over there?  And why would I be raising crows?  lol

These are the same people that are part of the whole stupid land issues.  I was thinking oh please don't talk to me....  I thought I was gonna have to just jump off the roof.  :P

They have never said a word about the land survey...probably because they know they were wrong and/or full of poo and that everything has always been fine and like it was actually supposed to be for the past 58 years.  :-?

Anyways....  Had something to eat, in spite of the rotten cottage cheese in the fridge that's enough to spoil anybody's appetite.
