She was last online on the 16th - maybe baby is here now!! That'd be great!!

Geri

Baby is indeed here.  When I went for my appointment on the 16th, the doctor scheduled an induction for the 17th.  Unfortunately, September decided that she didn't want to be evicted, so I had to have a C-section after 28 hours of labor. Not fun, but it was worth it.

September Grace was born on June 18th at 2:44pm, with a weight of 5lbs 2oz and a height of 18 1/2 inches.  She is perfectly healthy and is doing great.  I am still recovering from the C-section, but I'm starting to feel better.

All of the doctors said she was going to be about 7 1/2lbs minimum (I think that's why they went ahead with the induction), so when they pulled her out they were all extremely shocked that she was so tiny.  They said the reason was because she had a two artery umbilical cord instead of a three artery one.  She was down to 4lbs 15oz when we brought her home from the hospital, but on her first Dr appointment on Monday she was back up to 5lbs 2oz.  She is not able to nurse well yet because she is so small, so we are supplementing with formula. Hopefully we won't have to do that for too much longer.  Anyway, she is a sleeping machine and would be pretty much sleeping through the night already if we didn't have to wake her every 3 hours to feed her.

I will try to get a link to my husbands flickr account on here so yall can see all of the pictures.

The normal is to have only 2 arteries and one vein in the umbilical cord...

To some, arteries and veins are the same thing... :)   Not speaking specifically of Geri, but of LOTS of other Americans for sure, haha.

Anyway, Congratulations, Geri!

*shrug* I'm just going by what they told us.  They seemed surprised that there were only two arteries and they told us that was probably why she was small.

Either way, she is doing great.  At her Dr. Appointment on the 30th she was up to 6lbs 9oz and we were able to switch her to regular formula instead of the preemie high calorie kind. Still working on getting the pictures linked in, but I'll hopefully be able to do that soon.

Well, September is 1 month old today and she is getting big fast.  She is already up to 8lbs 2oz, so she has gained a little over 3llbs since she has been home from the hospital. Hopefully I will get some new pictures online soon.

Until then, here are some pictures from soon after we brought her home. The newest pictures are first.

This is my husbands flickr account, hopefully I paste the link right: http://flickr.com/photos/10301879@N03/

She's beautiful!

And, I may have missed it, but does the name September have special meaning to y'all? I've never heard it used as a name.
When you say "Jesus" you've said everything.

Geri

Tyler and I were married in September and I thought it sounded pretty.

Tyler says that if we have a girl born in September, we have to name her June.  I'm not so sure about that lol.

I have seen women named January and February, December would be a good name too ;0)

There are some new pictures on the flikr website!!!

We moved to Cleveland because I got a job here during my last semester at college.  Thankfully, Tyler didn't mind moving so far away from home.  Our families still live down there, although my parents just bought a house that is about 5 minutes from Tyler's mom's house, so it's not an hour drive to visit both of them now.

Tyler's dad lives in Montana, and we have actually been talking about potentially moving out there in a few(probably more than 5) years.
