Hi, it's been a while since I posted in this forum - actually since they separated the Married forum from this one.

Anyway, my wife and I have been working towards adoption for about 7 months now.  We've been married for almost 15 yrs and have never had children of our own.  In January 2006 she had to have a hysterectomy, and we thought that would be the end of our hopes for children.

Then..........last month, we got wind of a pregnant girl (not from our home state) that was wanting to give her baby up for adoption.  I contacted an attorney in that area and work has begun.

Yesterday, the birth parents attorney met with them and called me after the meeting.  She said that she is "cautiously optimistic" about this, as 1) the birth parents are older, 2) neither want children at this stage in their life, 3) both are well educated, and 4) they have done a great deal of research regarding adoption.

The baby is due May 28 and we should hear back from the attorney next week w/ at least a preliminary thumbs up or thumbs down.  The birth family has our portfolio and the medical/family history questionnaire.

So.......help us pray that the Lord's will be done this situation.

My wife and I travel to meet the birth parents this Thursday and then meet with our attorney on Friday to start things off.

The birth parents want to meet with us before making a final decision.

Please help us pray that Gods' will is done.
