funny les paul story . .  i was with some musician types and took them to Solid Gold McDonald's in Milwaukee.  they have a LOT of music collectibles - including a Les Paul guitar with a statue of Les Paul playing the guitar.  one of the musicians was like, "whose that?"   :laughhard:

um.  yeah.  it was pretty funny.  guess you had to be there.

sorry.  i know.   :offtopic:  :pwink:

I'm actually planning to go see him in about two weeks or so with a group of musicians. I feel like I'm overdosing on gigs - lol.

Cool...I'd like to see him while he's still playing. A living legend, that guy.

O.D.ing on gigs: you're playing too many, or attending too many shows?

TRAV

Actually, I'm not sure I could ever do either.  It's almost like there's never enough. Presently, I am seeing more shows than I am playing but hopefully it will start balancing out.

Yes, a balance must be maintained...I spent last Saturday playing music almost all day long. And then trying to get that 7/8 feel down. A tad scary at first, but once you count it 1,2, 1,2, 1,2,3...it's almost easy.

Check it out:

About a minute and thirty seconds into this video, Badi Assad starts doing percussion with her mouth, while humming, and leaping around the fretboard...woah!

Classicrambler

These little guys are pretty good...I'm not sure what to make of the unusual overdubs though...  ???

speaking of drummers . .  . one of my fav drummers is sitting on the couch here in my little living room.  and he said . .  IF someone like TRAV ever needed a drummer to drum in a band that TRAV was needing a drummer for . . .he'd be GLAD to do so!   he would be glad to come out of retirement for just such a thing.
hhhmmm . . .  i wonder who that drummer would be?

and . .  i wonder if he'd be so willing because we just finished watching ROCKY BALBOA!!

:waving:  (hi TRAV!! says mavrik's mom and dad!)

I drum on a white set of pearles. I've been drumming for my church for over 2 years.  :clap2:. I LOVE DRUMMIN FOR JESUS. He gave me the ability not any human teacher.

newkris

here's a fun little drum video for youse guys.  a friend from work donated some of her husband's drum stuff to this organization after he passed away.  apparently, the guy in the middle of the group founded this project.  all of the drummers are from various homeless shelters or teen intervention programs.  the drum equipment is donated to the kids and the instructors from various walks teach them to work together.  pretty cool thing, if you ask me!

have any of you seen these guys before?
