I didn't find hairstyles for curly hair.. It's discrimination! SO kidding.. *grin* My hair is fairly easy to fix, though - I've been doing pin (barrel) curls a LOT lately, because they're easy. :biglaugh:

I am enjoying finding styles I DO NOT have to curl my hair for.

This one is fun, but I'm going to angle the hair stick next time.

The little girl I am babysitting today loves to have her hair fixed so I did the chinese bun  ( I had to use a colored pencil--no chopsticks...lol) and it looks adorable!

I have curly hair; it refuses to lay flat and behave. *grin*

*Christi*

I have curly hair too but it has gotten so long now that it's much less curly due to the weight.  When it was only bra-strap length it was really curly, now that it's halfway between my behind and my knees, it's much straighter...  :sadbounce:

Try the Chinese bun at an angle.

It rocks.

i'm LOVIN the chinese bun too!  i started doin a small side part/sweep in the front with the chinese bun, and have gotten soooooooooo many compliments!  tryin to give my hair a break from the curling iron and freeze-it for a while.  one thing i love is that i can even do this if my hair is damp/wet.  i need to buy some more hair sticks though.... right now i only have a pair of silver w/rhinestones, and black w/rhinestones.  i tried doing it with some decorative chopsticks a friend brought me from tiawan several years ago, but they are too long (stick out too far on the sides).

When we went to the mall last week I picked up 4 pair of chopsticks at Claire's.  They have a really good selection at a reasonable price.  They had a sale, buy 1 get 1 50% off.  Regular price was 4.50.  4 pairs cost me like $12 dollars.  I prefer the ones without stones, but that's just me.  I like the ones that just kind of "blend" in my hair so they're not too noticeable.  .........

I tried the braided version of the chinese bun, I really liked it but it pulled more so it gave me a headache...........ughhhh

i really LOVE how light my hair feels in the chinese bun!  and it's great as a casual do, or for sundays  :thumbsup2:

I have gotten SO many compliments on the chinese bun.  I have probably 4 or 5 pair of chopsticks but I went to Claire's this weekend and bought 2 more.  I did the angled chinese bun like Nai suggested for church on Sunday night... REALLY cute!!  Josh usually prefers my hair big and curly but he likes this hairdo!!

I did that French twirl thing the other day too...    That was fab.   My hair actually worked at it!   :)

I also tried the triple coil bun -- that takes a bit more doing but it does look good when it works.

Another variation on the Chinese bun -- I did this Sunday night -- placed it on the side and securely pinned it and then pulled the stick.   Voila!   Still looked good, but no stick.   My neck is kind of short and I need to go get more Obento (Japanese lunch box) sticks.   I wore my anime type ones last night -- the cream ones with a little girl and a dog on them.

I reccomend a Japanese grocery or whatever and you can find some FAB sticks for a few dollars.

There's more Chinese buns in here than at a Chinese bakery.   :smirk2:

Ok... I tried the chinese bun a new way and LOVE it!!!

First let me say that when Nai said to angle the sticks, I assume she meant to put the sticks in parallel to each other and off kilter, ie I put them in at about a 60 degree angle.  cute cute cute

What I did last night was put the chopsticks in like an X and then weave the hair around the 4 ends instead of 2.  It looks much weavier and simply adorable!!

Seth, HUSH... You have NO hair, why are you even in here??

Anybody want to post pics of their hair in the chinese bun?

Chseeads

I HAVE HAIR, thank you very much.....most of it's just not on my head, that's all....   :smirk2:
