This is my new Project:
Evening Picnic

I am inspired! ...and full of coffee. :chairspin:

I am thinking early summer or autumn time so that it's not cold or hot. Some of these things I have already and are crossed out.

Supplies

Bug Repellent:   Start Planting inside in March
     Citronella grass
     Rosemary (some broken around table)
     Catnip
     Marigolds
---
Large Serving Dishes
Roaster, Crockpots
Jars & lanterns
20 & 24 gauge Wire to hang
Battery tea lights
Linen napkins  (I'll probably just make these to match the tablecloth)
Waterproof tea lights
Long tablecloth (homemade)
Long table
Table for food
Forks
Spoons
Wine? Glasses (Depends on group)
Glass Drink Containers
1 Extension cord
Chairs
Mismatching all White plates
Cake Stands (homemade)
Centerpieces (homemade)
Invitations if applicable (homemade)

Menu- Pot Luck?

Lasagna or
BBQ Ribs or
Pork Loin
Scalloped potatoes
*Green Salad & Dressings
*Fruit Salad
*Pastries
*Fancy Veggie Tray
Asparagus w/ hollandaise
Puff Pastry bread sticks
Ice Tea, Pink Lemonade

* =  Things people can bring

Ideas:Use Christmas icicles to put in jars and hang from metal wheel. But close together so wind doesn't break them.  Hot glued together?  Then random other jars with battery tea lights.

Waterproof tea lights in the Glass drink pictures.

Crock pots and Roaster oven out to keep food warm.

Tall skinning bottles with lights for centerpieces.  Or lighted twigs.

Try and have a lid for everything.  Thrift Stores for serving dishes with lids.  Bottles with corks?

Use our table if small group.

I thought about misquito netting but am not sure how to go about doing it without it looking like a camping one.  It would have to cover the table/chairs and food table.

I thought about this for an intimate small dinner with close friends, birthday party for adult, bon voyage or moving party or the praise team.

Sooo.... what'cha think?

Amelia Bedelia

Can I come?

Mosquito netting could look elegant if you just line it with like satin ribbon or something

Chseeads

I'll come if you decide you are definitely serving the wine. :P

I wanna come! Or we could do it at the petit jean meatup! Pun-intended.
  :attackhug: Be full of hugs!

Melody

It crossed my mind Chel!  A couple of picnic tables lined up under a nice tree, I could bring the lights/jars since I'm already doing them...  It wouldn't take much as a group to do it.

I think it'd even be fun to do it for a "late night snack" type thing if it wasn't dark till late by then.

Wow... A setup like that would put my little loaf of sourdough bread to shame.

I could bring fudge revel bars?
"Do you sing at church?"
"Yes I sing at church, I sing at home, at work, in the car, at the supermarket, at Wal-Mart..."
:sing: :sing: :sing: :sing: :sing: :sing:

I guess I'll get the fire wood. With something that gorgeous there has to be a fire close by.
Just a random thought, maybe we could share a few testimonies, unless we have that scheduled somewhere else.

Melody

It might be an all nighter if we do that!  Wouldn't that be a time though.  A testimony is an intimate & powerful thing.  God would move, I'm sure.

SippinTea

*bump* Sooo... didja do it? :bigcheese:

So sadly, no.  the lovely branch that was ideal, got hit by lightining & tore off in the summer.  Then we began the moving process in September.  Perhaps someday.   :sadbounce:
