I think we all have them on FaceBook... The friends who give us Too Much Information and sometimes are just plain old idiots.

A year ago a FB Friend complained about her Ex Husband not spending time with his kids.

She neglected to tell us that 1.) SHE left him 2.) she met a guy in a CHAT ROOM  3.) Ran off with him and 4.) Moved to another state many states away from her ex husband and it is so very expensive for him to make the trip.

Yet she has the audacity to get on FB and complain about HIM?

Idiots are everywhere.  I have observed that nothing I can (legally) do will reduce the number of idiots or the level of their idiocy, and focusing on them only makes my blood pressure rise.  I conclude the best thing to do is ignore them whenever possible.

I don't have FB, but I hear there's a button for that. ;)

One of my hobbies is Idiot watching. Some like to watch birds, others old movies and some watch TV.. personally I enjoy watching idiots.

Examples:

I am sitting in the County Jail  filling out the paper work to bond a guy out of jail. His girlfriend shows up to co sign. As she is filling out the papers - another bondsman walks in with a bond in hand. His WIFE bailed him out already and this Girlfriend was a bit surprised to say the least. She stormed out of that jail pretty angry.

I gave her my card, I figure when she beats him up - she will call me!

The other day I heard a lady judge tell a defendant: "Gosh, Mr. Smith, you just cannot go around peeing in public"

Recently a guy was in front of the judge for a Domestic Abuse case, he was of his med's and homeless.  He also had a deportation order against him, but we are not deporting to Iraq right now - so he was released without bail.

Homeless guy - charged with a felony and has a history of Felonies. In and out of prison and the judge let him out WITHOUT BAIL!

2nd day in a row an Iraqi showed up with a violent crime history and a deportation order on file. We don't deport to Iraq, so these creeps are free to commit felony after felony on the public, skip bail, in and out of prison, skip bail again, attack someone, break into their house and attack someone again.  "Oh we don't deport to Iraq!"   Why the heck not? We send our boys over there!

To the right of the court room stands an empty both with plexi-glass on three sides. Two very capable Deputies stand by as the bald headed man enters with a gloomy look on his face.

He is charged with Domestic Abuse in a drunken rage.  He plead guilty and is finishing up his term in the work house for the first case and now has been sentenced for his second count.

The Prosecutor now announces the idiot of the week. The Victim who has been sitting in the gallery crying out loud.

She wants to address the court!

She stands before the judge and tells him that it was her fault, she is a drunk, he never hurt her, never hit her, she has changed her life, she is in church, going to school and wants him back in her life.  She breaks down crying and pleading the judge to reconsider because she loves him so much.

His lawyer looks at her then the judge and says "Your Honor, my client was found guilty of Domestic Abuse and plead guilty today, there are two domestic abuse no contact orders in affect. I think they need to remain.

The judge concurred and the embarrassed defendant looked relieved.

90 days in jail
One Year probation
Restitution

Crime?

Shoved $70.00 worth of groceries down her pants and tried to walk out of the store.

Others.....

Guy is getting released on Bail and then lets judge know that he has out of state warrants for his arrest. Bail rescinded until they check it out.

Homeless Guy - bail set at $50K.  I don't know what the judge was thinking.  He is Homeless, has felony records dating back to 1980's and nationwide - he has been in prison in 3 or 4 different states and has only been out of Iowa Prison a short time.  This guy will run.  I let the jerk bonds person across the row take it.

You want to talk about idiots? We elect our judges in Texas; how dumb is that?

Melody

I don't know Scott, they really make me feel better about myself.

People elect judges all over the place....

The Cold Water Kid

Really? They told us in college that most states do not elect their judges. 60 Minutes did a special called "Justice For Sale" several years ago, ridiculing the Texas judicial system (or so I was told, I have not seen it).

If not elected....how do they get there?  Appointed by other govt. officials?

Usually they run unopposed, so I always do write ins for them. Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Bruce Wayne, Seth, and a few other comic book characters got votes last time.
