Good...maybe my itching will go away now.

:hi: I sure didn't want to get out of bed this morning...
Way to much chatter on here.
G'morning everyone! :hi:
:beret:
Man...
A local artist, and long time art teacher at our school was killed. Man, man, man...
Man, it's Chick Fil A excitement around here. All the CFAs in the area are at least a quarter mile backed up on the roads, and it's an hour wait.
Take that devil. People will go, wait in line, with a smile, for chicken, just to prove a point, to support a Christian voice.
The radio was hilarious. One of the hosts went live to check out one of the CFAs. She said it was an hour and a half wait. It's a show with a liberal and a "conservative" and she's the liberal. So she said she went across the street to GayFC. (Kentucky Fried Chicken) and ordered a rainbow salad. She said there was NO ONE in there and it had been all day. lol She was just being onrey but it was funny.
The one in our town doesn't open until tomorrow. 2 kids from our church work there. So today the parking lot is FULL of people camping out. Nathan wanted to camp out but it's packed, I don't think he's going to. Cool to see.
Makes me wonder how Taco is doing, if his face is sore from smiling all day to so many people?
This stupid backwards town doesn't have a Chick Fl A.
One of the things I miss about Fla. :smirk2:

And you want me to move there?!?! We have 2 of them an at least 4 more within 30 minutes.
I ate lunch at Sonic :)
That's one of the downsides to living here...we don't have much. It was all wiped out with Katrina. People moved away instead of rebuilding it all. So yeah. Now you know the bad stuff...but the upside is, we have a great church! And I live here! ;)

All I can say is Wal-Mart on a "black Friday" was a walk in the park compared to today. It was insane! We probably had more customers than any other time including the days we were giving stuff away for free. Actually, my feet and legs are sore. lol

You have to be there at 6am on Wed. and stay till 6am on Thur. in order to get the free meals. So if he goes now it will just be to sleep in a parking lot. lol
Went to work, came home. Praise God.
Boss met with me today. She had a glowing review of me. I wish that meant $$$....but I fear it just means a pat on the back for a job well done. :P
We're getting a new boss...she is taking a position up in Chicago. The new boss is a man, will be meeting him within a couple weeks. There are a lot of men in management positions with American Greetings, but the merchandisers are dominated by women. I am the only male in our territory. lol
This week was the last time I have to do the out of town (Spencer, Gosport, Worthington) stores, my stuff will all be in Bloomington now.... I think I may be going to pick up the Kmart, Macy's and O'Malia's stores in place of what I'm dropping.
Anyhoo.....
Lord, I've got to pick beans and pick beans and pick beans and can tomatoes and beets and tend fowl and build my puppet stage and sew my curtain and build buildings and clean houses and garages and......
/me dies.
Oh, and somebody posted some Chik Fil A pics from the mall here in town, lots of people there.... We just have one CFA, in the mall in the food court. I think maybe the next nearest ones would be up around Indy or someplace, dunno.
Bloomington is a very liberal place with lots of gays and people of all sorts of weird turns as well.
Did he just say he is going to mark his territory cause he is male? :o
:flush:
No, I don't believe I did. :smirk2:
Friday is a Kiss-in for gay activists. They're going to go to CFAs and kiss in the parking lot I guess. I'm so glad that for the most part, Christians have more sense. We didn't see straight couples making out in front of JcPenny when it declared strong pro-gay support/agendas and made Ellen D. their spokesperson.
Glad for the owner of CFA and his words. I hope he never takes one oz of them back!

I forget you grew up on the wrong side of the Jordan in the wilderness known as the North. lol
She wrote some beautiful songs as long as you don't have to listen to her sing them. One of my favorites is "The Holy Hills".
"This house of clay is but a prison
Bars of bone hold my soul
But the doors of clay are gonna burst wide open
When Jesus sets my spirit free
I'll take my flight like a mighty eagle
When the hills of home start calling me."

I'll admit that I actually liked hearing her sing some of them. It is sad that she started out in the truth and as she became somewhat famous in southern Gospel Circles, she and her husband backslid and wound up divorced....
My favorite song of hers, I think was "He looked Beyond my Faults( and saw my need)" It touches me still, regardless who sings it.
Not only did I not grow up in the southern church but I didn't grow up in white church circles. I am pretty much unfamiliar with any older white Christian singers unless I've heard them since I've been an adult. Really, I only know some black artists. I never have been the kind of person that remembers names well either... lol

I asked Nathan and he has never heard of her either. He thinks it's because we grew up on mostly hymnals. ?? But it's been so many years, I don't remember many of those either. It really takes a chunk out of life when you're not in church. My family was not in during my teen years. I remember when Nathan and I got in as adults, and in a UPC church no less, we were amazed about how much there was that we never knew about. We grew up never hearing about present day missionaries! I remember the first time I heard of the Gaithers and seen them on PBS, and thought how very sweet they were. I didn't know about any Christian radio growing up, not sure if the little town we moved to had one. I didn't know about Adventures in Odyssey until like 5yrs ago... lol I would have loved that as a kid.
The only Apostolic records/tapes my mom had were of my cousins, the Sotos.

Hmmm. You know, SOME people feel that marijuana plants resemble tomato plants. :hypocrite: So maybe it wasn't a waste. Someone will probably be wasted thanks to your watering.... :laughhard:
In fact, I have a brother in law who was quite fond of the natural herb, and once hid his favorite plant in the row of tomato plants in the garden. My dear mother, who wouldn't have known weed if it were handed to her, remarked numerous times on how strange it was that that one plant had grown out so beautiful and never offered a tomato.
My sister finally told Mama the truth several years later...... :laughhard:

My daddy is happy. I'm happy. One step closer to getting him functioning for himself! Whoot!

Up from napping.
Loooong day. Just got home about an hour ago.
My back and feet were hurting so bad this morning. I was running late and forgot to lay out the meat for lunch. Get to church and I was not in the best of moods, but God made it all ok. We had a great service and had FOUR people baptized! I feel better physically now, and after church Dad and I drove to Hurley and delivered some bread and stuff to the men's mercy house up there, then I came home and cooked. We just ate and I'm gettin ready to lay down.
I'm exhausted.
*HUGS* Mel and *dances happy dances* with her! Hurray for ramps!
Isaac - Ewwww!! I don't envy you that job. :yell:

Could be worse though. I haven't been alright since I was born. I think I have more fun that way.
You know what makes me incredibly sad? People who had at one time a glimpse of Truth, but who never REALLY gave themselves to Christ and let HIM control their life... and then walk away and decide Jesus just doesn't "work for them". You're either "in Christ" or you're not. And oftentimes the difference is so glaringly obvious that you can spot who won't be even claiming to be a believer in advance of THEM admitting the fact. It's heartbreaking. When people just "try Jesus" and aren't truly sold out to Him, letting Him take over every aspect of their life, when they reserve certain areas of their life that THEY want to be in control of.... well, utter shipwreck of their life is only a matter of time. And watching the spiral go more and more out of control makes me so very very sad. I wish I could somehow show them what it's like on the other side of a genuine spiritual breakthrough with God. When you REALLY give yourself to Him. But you can't show someone that. Every has to get there on their own. It's the ones who give up even trying that make me incredibly sad. I can't stand the thought of someone going to hell.

I agree Ruby. Even the ones that DO give their lives in the beginning and then it becomes harder and they aren't ready to for example, answer the calling God has given them because they sought for it. Or even really seek for something deeper, because they just aren't ready to make that much of a sacrifice.
Every day is a choice. There's no "safe" place that someone can just lean back and guarantee they could never fall from where they're at. It's sobering.
Picked a 5 gal. bucket of beans..... More and more to go.....
Not enough hours in the day.
I'm alive.
If anyone tried to text or call me after about 10:30am yesterday, I didn't get it. Our phones were shut off for no reason, and dad spent about 30 minutes yelling at customer service. They say we have a late fee that hasn't been pain, but dad faithfully pays the bill every month, and they confirmed that the bills had been paid on time and in full for the past 6 months. And they couldn't or wouldnt tell him when this late fee developed and what it was for, so he got mad, and said we are changing phone companies.
Dont know if I will have a new phone today or when, but I'll send out my new number soon. I hope I get to keep my iPhone. :smirk2:
In other news, I'm tired and sick this morning, nauseated. But I've dropped dad at dialysis, and I'm using the wifi at McDs, then I'm headed to the church.

Phone located. I'd left it in the shop while I worked on the demonically possessed Corvette. Actually it's because I don't want to be available at all hours of the day. I have a home phone, you can call me there if you want. Of course I'm not sure WHAT you will call me... but you can call me.
I am working on procuring a box to ship the records in...if that's what you were poking me about. Lol
And for my sharing today, I just devoured a succulent peach. :fork:
Plus three points for using "procuring" in a sentence. My mother lives far away and one of the things I miss most is being able to talk to her without getting complaints about using "big words."
My Crosley record player I won on eBay should be arriving tomorrow! So excited!
Well. I made it through the day. One more day at work and I am back to my weekend, which are the days I live for.... :biglaugh:
Fixing to go to church......
Went and dropped off veggies hither and thither and sermonized at Bro. Weir's and came home.
Had youth service. As a icebreaker, we tried bacon soda. If you ever get a chance to try it, don't. And if someone ever offers it to you, I think it is a right to shoot them as self defense. It tasted like liquid bacon bits. NASTY!

Made a retro hat earlier this week. Haven't posted pics yet, but it looks like a 20's flapper hat or something.

I do not want to be awake right now. But I must.
I didn't do your dishes cause you won't do anything for me. Turn about is fair play.
Well the dishes still need doing.
I'm at the church still. I got here and layed on the floor in the nursery, dozed off an on. Then I got up, and took the mattress out of the crib, and layed on that for awhile. I still didn't go to sleep fully. I am so tired.
Waiting till time to pick Dad up, then I'll go home and clean the kitchen since Seth won't do it for me. Gotta figure out something for supper tonight, and lunch tomorrow.
Tended fowl. Eating a RBP.
Back at home....got up this morning and went to the monthly "car guy" breakfast in nearby Conway. While I was there, I picked up the birthday present Lou let me get- a cool antique under- the- dash air conditioning unit for Rusty! :clap2:  :clap2: :bouncy:
I am SO happy! If everything goes right, we'll have the a/c unit in him before next summer's heatwave.
A friend told me when he heard that I had gotten that, "Lord, you will never get out of that truck now. You'll drive him all the time. You already drive it constantly."
The guy I got the unit off of told me he'd be glad to help me assemble and install it. Only reason it will take a while, I still have a couple of parts that will have to be acquired, such as the hoses. Probably $150 away fom having COLD air in Rusty. Next year at the car show, either Mini or my uncle will have to ride in the bed, not me. :P I WILL be enjoying the air. :biglaugh:
:hi: It was pleasant this morning, not as hot as it has been but it sure warmed up now.
I think I'm gonna scream.
The dishes keep multiplying, and I keep having to stop washing them to tend to dads every beck and call. I'll never get done at this rate. Seth won't help me at all.
Hmph.
*watches the marriage collapse*
The Bible even says for him to do the dishes!
And I will stretch over Jerusalem the line of Samaria, and the plummet of the house of Ahab: and I will wipe Jerusalem as a man wipeth a dish, wiping it, and turning it upside down. (2 Kings 21:13 KJV)

Wowser. Seth, you are much more a farmer than I had thought. How big a garden do you have?
And in sharing- it is raining here. I am not complaining, we've needed it, but man it has been coming down last night and this morning. Made for a slow slippery drive in........
It's Monday again already just in case you didn't know.

No he only got a few maters...like 5 or 6.
Same for beans....

:pound:
I mean is this a typical year, or abundant? We are suffering drought, so all gardens and crops have suffered and/or died.
I've not had a garden for several years. But it is doing good. And it's a draught here too. Chicken poop, water, and prayers have seen me through. :P
We're getting a new boss....a he boss in place of the she boss, as Fairy Cakes would say...
And his name is Matthew McCarthy.... I keep wanting to call him Matthew McConaughey. :smirk2:

Our she boss is taking a position in Chicago. The new he boss sent an email out yesterday introducing himself. Kinda sounds like he's not been with the card company long. He's new to Indianapolis (where our territory bases out of).
Just for the record. I don't like Christmas. I mean I am all for celebrating the Birth of our Lord, but I hate the cost of all the gifts and decorations and just the junk. We never have much in the way of gifts, and for years growing up, the boys and I would take bets on WHEN dad would have his screaming fit, before or after the meal, we would walk on eggshells all day and then after it happened, the day was ruined. So I actually hate the whole thing.
Just my thoughts for today.
Bah humbug. :smirk2:

Well.... I don't know what august has to do with Christmas- :P But let me in on the "humbug" thing. Christmas quit being fun for me when my Mama quit being able to cook and make it special. Since she has been in the nursing home, holidays just aren't the same.
Lou's parents have a big Christmas and I am always invited, but as I've posted before, I am weird and don't handle that type of gathering well. therefore, I am probably the only person that hopes I HAVE to work on that holiday.
I used to LOVE working holidays. Double pay, always a S L O W day, and missing all the holiday drama. Win win situation. Lol
The food is the best part of any holiday. Lol

I HAVE found a small drawback since Chey has gotten older, and that is being with her on that day.....But- I can't keep a gift for her or her Mama over a couple days max and they get it early anyway. I always try, but get to thinking about how much they would love it and give in. I'm a push-over... :laughhard:
Wow Mel, was that random or did I miss a major part of a conversation?
I think your experience growing up definately can form how ya feel about it. I hope that you eventually see the lightheartedly kindly spirit of the holiday to the point that it makes you super warm and fuzzy inside.
We are having a slight cool streak of weather. It is in the 70s today and cloudy as all get out but no rain. It does make me feel like fall and the holidays. Hannah does an awesome 1940s Christmas singing impression. We have drank hot carmel apple tea today and I'm making a variation of chicken noodle soup. I'm almost cold. I'm also exhausted.
Every once in awhile I get to feeling really insecure. Like that nobody sees my heart, just my flaws. It means the world when someone believes in you besides Jesus, cause well, sometimes I think I missed the boat on being something great for God and that He and people around me are just hoping I'll make it to heaven... lol
It was random. Random in the sense that mom was talking about how close Christmas is and how she wants the house decorated and a big family deal and blah blah blah, but that just means more work for ME, and she is never happy anyway with what I do, and that even if I did do everything she wanted, it would flop and she would be unhappy anyway, so I have developed a LOATHESOME feeling towards it. It's not the holiday, it's the cost and the mess that surrounds it. For me. Not for anyone else exactly.
That's just me. I'm random like that.
Quote from: MelodyB on August 14, 2012, 12:12:38 AM

That's why I love you!!!
For the record, the older I get while continuing to be single the more I hate Christmas as well. This year will be the first year with my brother being married.
It's already a very hard, emotional time for me him being married. Holiday's are just going to intensify it.
:sadbounce:
I miss my brother. Sigh.
I ate some toast for a snack earlier and thought of you, Jenn.
Cinnamon toast. :fork:
Welcome to the canning factory.... Been up to my hooty hoo in tomatoes all day. :smirk2:
The last batch of juice is in the canner now.
Speaking of Christmas, I had a Christmas flashback deal earlier today myself while I was canning, cause I smelled the smell of a struck match, and that reminded me of some candles we always had at Christmas that generally we never burned but that I always wanted to and occasionally would get to. So then I sung Silver Bells to myself a little bit, and that was that.
:smirk2:

I have a dentist appointment tomorrow late afternoon... Gonna go into town and drop off eggs and green beans and work some before the dentist.
I'm overwhelmed. I can't keep up with the beans that need picked. And the corn pretty much ready to pick.
Along with everything else.....not enough hours in the day... :reaction:
I was having flashbacks earlier. I ended up looking up NKOTB videos on YouTube. Took me WAYY back. I loved those guys.

In other news, I now have a $300 doorstop. This TASCAM audio interface fried itself because it didn't like XLR inputs from a compressor. For the record, it is SUPPOSED to take XLR inputs, that's what those XLR jacks are for.
I looked online and found others who had the same problem. Unfortunately they posted comments about this problem AFTER I bought this thing. :frustrated: I can't get a refund or exchange because it's out of warranty, and I don't remember where I bought it anyway.
Oh yeah... in other, other news, last night was a total hash at work. The furnace generator went down... when they investigated they found out it was because the building air compressor went down... that failed because it overheated, because the building's intercooler (the thing that runs water to cool off the machines in the building) had no water in it. So everyone was standing around for a while with no air pressure to run any tools, furnace 1 was shut down more than half the night and the last 12 parts out of the furnace line were scrap.
And all this happened on the one night that Evon, the furnace 2nd shift leader, was out. :-\
Mind you, all this is good news for me. I had a slow night last night and I'll get overtime as we try to catch back up with the parts we need to be getting out. But I feel bad for the boss. With Evon gone he had no idea what to do with the furnace.

You know, it bothers me that constricting churches cause young people to believe that their only choices are either IN that church or EXACTLY like that church to be able to live for God. (This is NOT my church but I have seen such ridiculousness far too often) Anything else is considered backslidden and compromised. So here are these young people who break down under the constriction, unable to see how to live for God as the way they continue and the devil jumps ALL over it! They backslide for real and go through a horrid time of planting bad seeds and reaping deep pain only to still think that the only way they can come back to God is to go back to that same church or church personality. When perhaps, if they were taught how big the kingdom of God is, and GRACE as they seek God's will and direction, they wouldn't backslide in the first place.
"Grow where you're planted" is used for manipulation far too often. A desperate soul can get the HG just about anywhere.
Up and down, in and out, roller coaster walks with God. We need good sense to keep getting preached more and more as the rapture draws so very close.

You wouldn't believe the things you can plug into the cigarette lighter these days. Curling iron (with 6' cord for convenient backseat styling) blender (sidewalk smoothies anyone) and a lot of other stuff... and a 4-way adapter so you can plug them all in at once! So yeah, why not a car pressure cooker as well?
MellowYellow: Are we talking about standards or doctrine? Most standards are strictly local (as well they should be) but doctrine is universal.
I probably mentioned this before here on the forum, but... we went to another United Pentecostal Church and one of the ladies from my church was very disturbed that someone on the platform had a beard. She tried to say the Bible specifically spoke against facial hair. (SPOILER ALERT: It doesn't.) While the standard was needed, and still is in some churches, you can't hold everyone to the same standards because they don't live in the same area that might require those standards.
I know one church that has a standard against dominoes. That sounds ludicrous, until you find out that a lot of people were skipping Sunday night church to play dominoes at a friend's house. And it would be ludicrous for my church to have that standard, because we don't have that problem.
One can of soup didn't seal. That is so supremely aggravating.

Ya know, I somewhat agree Meller, but - I also feel like way to often we have people that refuse to try to "grow where they're planted".....I've known many who got the mindset that they could go to other churches to outrun their problems. End result was, they never put down roots and became a part of the body. They wound up further from God than they would've if they'd stayed where they were and tried to live for God.
Now my church is, I feel, very conservative. I have been raised there all of my life and there have been oftentimes rules that I disagree with. I have, however stayed and attempted to keep the right spirit and respect my shephard. Many of my friends growing up took the mindset that "that isn't necessary, so I'm not gonna do it." They eventually moved to another church. And another church. And another church. They are now completely out of church.
Now, I'm not saying that it happens everytime. but I feel that alot of times the roller coaster walks with God and the problem with "constricting churches" isn't necessarily the church. If a person, young or old, loves God and is devoted to HIS will, and keeps a right spirit, they won't have the "roller coaster" ride. They may not agree with everything in their church, but they will be able to be a stable contributing member.
If this makes sense- I feel too many times individuals are quick to blame the church they come from or someone in the church for their problems, when the bottom line is, if they had a prayer life and a right spirit, their problems would be non existant. It is time for God's people to quit playing the blame game and take responsibility for their life and their walk with God.......
And good morning everyone. Still in a little pain from the back, but God is good. Hope ya'll have a great day. :hi:

I had to read that several times. I thought you were saying a lady on the platform had a beard. :ugly:
I had this mental image of a woman in a dress, hair in a bun, with a full mountain man beard.
Personally, I would have a problem with that too...not so much with the beard as much as the fact that I would go into hysterics laughing every time I saw her, and laughing at every person who saw her for the first time.
Quote from: Psalm_97 on August 15, 2012, 06:33:09 AMMellowYellow: Are we talking about standards or doctrine? Most standards are strictly local (as well they should be) but doctrine is universal.
Not doctrine. That never changes. And not even so much standards but just the controlling mentality that insists no one or anything else is better. Often standards can be used to manipulate but it's not legalism I'm referring to.
I agree Roscoe. People do need to sit and learn and be submissive, and grow. Oh boy do I agree, I have a very hard time giving anyone credibility that goes from church to church. But I'm not referring to church hoppers. I'm referring to the ones that LOVE Jesus and are in a place that has little more if anything to offer them anymore. Not because the church is even necessarily bad but because God is calling them out! They may have edified them to where they are now but God has more for them and it's not at that church. The issue comes when churches want people to come in but never leave. And I say churches but it comes from the leadership. Often times, after a while, the pastor doesn't have to say much at all, the church is trained to think that way. So that if someone does feel called out to go do something somewhere else for God, it must be rebellion.
I'm not kidding. I was told once that they didn't teach Bible studies or have prayer mtgs away from church because somebody might try and start their own church and take those with them. It's so retarded that there are even organizational lines between apostolics. Or that ministry is limited within them! If they think their preacher is going to backslide by going and preaching to a hungry baptist church, why isn't the pastor discipling him to be more solid than that? So then a pastor's fear of losing a saint becomes that saint's fear of reaching others.
The kingdom of God IS big and there is a lot going on and opportunities for those sold out for Jesus. Those sold out for Jesus have solid foundations, tried and true faithfulness, and the fruit of the Spirit. They are already leaders and workers in the churches. I think their spirit bears witness if they are just someone looking to leave and starting garbage to do it, and someone that truly is torn between submission and calling. The two should never conflict. Ideally, the pastor comes around. Unfortunately, that doesn't always happen and people almost have to be cut off so that they can be transplanted somewhere healthy. And even then, they wrestle with the mentality they were trained with or the Biblical mentality in which they need to fulfill God's will.
It just seems ridiculous to me. That this endtime revival... I can see why it can't be contained within any one church/denomination/organization. Because some, once converted, will be more powerful that others that were practically born converted because of the junk that they were taught as part of Truth that really wasn't truth. Not limited to standards at all. Stuff like segregation- mixed marriages, and how to treat certain sinful people over others, financial and health stewardship beyond tithes/offering, spiritual authority, and even having a relationship with God yourSELF and not through the church or leadership. You know, I know some that came from a church that was taught you go to the church and pray. So they would go every day at like 4am to pray. Now did God bless them, yes! But there was not teaching that you can touch God at home, in your car, ect. That you can hear a Word from God directly! So God blesses them but they are not equipped.
Case in point. I have witnessed God deliver someone from homosexuality completely. I have also witnessed much MORE an under current of discrimination from apostolics against gays as if they can't get Jesus like anyone else and be delivered like anyone else. As if when they get saved, they aren't truly clean and restored. Crack heads get more compassion. So then, there's not only a lack of reaching that kind of person if they're around you but to actually despise them. Treat them like they ARE satan. This is only one subject. But it's a poisonous line of thinking that isn't FOR people and their success in God, perhaps beyond our little world, but suspicious, negative, and insecure/prideful.
And from time to time. It grates on my nerves. Can you tell? lol
/rant
I see what you are saying.....Im fortunant i guess because ive never saw that from my pastor, or been around that kind of spirit.
I've never seen that from my pastor, but I sure have from some of the church members.

You are blessed.
I wonder sometimes why I've seen so much silliness. The only answer I know presently is to train my children better and to intercede. I have family in 3 different apostolic orgs. I seen stuff growing up, I've experienced only a little bit, and I see it going on in others.
I am so blessed that my pastor as well, never gives place to such nonsense. And I've seen the work of God go so much farther because of that grace. At the same time, I've witnessed people who have come out of that be astonished because they never knew church/God could be so wonderful and I guess positive. They were told how liberal and worldly other churches were and it wasn't true! lol

Living with mom hasn't been bad, but the moment dad gets home all hades breaks loose. I've got to get out of here as soon as I can. No idea how I'll manage that but it'll have to be soon.

And Heather, I'll be praying for ya that your situation works out.
And totally random- "Biegal- pronounced "Beagle" oil, is the STUFF!" A friend, after seeing me moving at the speed of a turtle, told me to go by the local co-op, buy this stuff and mix it 50/50 with water. Spray it on your aching back and let it dry....It's a horse linament. Now, I've been called the hinderparts of a horse before, so it seemed like it might work. :laughhard:
Last night I buy the stuff, have Lou spray it on twice before she leaves for church and once when she gets home, and skipped church and lay on the bed. This morning the back pain is 95% history. I really can't described the difference. Thank you Lord.
That explains why you're eating hay and whinnying.
Yeah. Thanks for the stranger comment.
I read that post at 4am, and all while I was getting ready to take dad to dialysis, I was humming "People think I'm strange, does it make me a stranger, that my best friend was born in a manger" and that particular line of that song annoys me, cause He wasn't actually BORN in a manger. He was placed in the manger AFTER He was born. He was born in the stable. Read the Bible people. :smirk2:
Anyway. Good morning.
I have cleaned out the truck and the death wagon this morning already. I got rid of a lot of junk we didn't need. Getting ready to go to Pensacola this weekend! I can't wait!
I am DRENCHED. It's only 7:30 and 75 degrees, but it's HOT out there when you are DOING stuff. Glad I didn't shower this morning. It would have been wasted. But I'm gonna need to in a little while when I get done with all this stuff.

Howdy y'all.
Roscoe - Mix it 50/50? What is that stuff, antifreeze?
'tis a bit strong....dilute it or burn is what I was warned
Well, the new he boss seems like a nice guy from first impressions.
He's a kid though....Lord.... I don't know how old he is but I kinda doubt he's 30 yet. lol
One lady did break down in tears in our meeting though. :o
She has been covering the Target store, thank God - sparing them begging me, and we were in that store and doing stuff in the department as training review and such, and finding little things out of place here and there, I think she was feeling attacked, but she broke down in tears and the she boss took her aside for a while..... The she boss had already taken her aside because she had a little dull knife hanging from her wrist she used to open the plastic wrap on packages of cards and they told her not to use that and she was all emphatic that she needed it cause she had a wrist injury, yadda yadda....
Anyways, the he boss seems like an alright guy, we shall hope.
The she boss did ask me about any possibility of me helping the crying lady sometimes at Target....that's when I punched her in the face... :fight:
j/k :smirk2:
I may take the Kmart and one other little store though, which the crying lady is currently also covering, but I had discussed the possibility of taking those on after dropping my out of town anyways, so probably going to end up getting them. *shrug*
lol Mel, it's 70° right now and I'm COLD, but I'm not working. Great temp. for a fire pit though!
This cool cloudy rainy weather has me all nostalgic for autumn.
Glad my boss doesn't mind paying me overtime. I clocked out today with 36 hours. I'm scheduled to work another 8.5 tomorrow and at least 2 hours in kennels sunday night. So tired and beyond stressed but glad to be getting some big paychecks before vacation. We're leaving in 3 weeks and 1 day. Yes I'm counting so you must suffer the countdown with me. mwahahahaha.
On my trek to become a country girl I have had another accomplishment. I've finally shot a gun  My first 9 rounds I hit the target with 7 of them and 1 in the bullseye  I'm gonna work my way up to the shotgun!!
It stormed tonight, and rained almost 5 inches in a few hours. :o
Kept having to turn around and go a different way to get to church due to trees in the road....
I'm full of tension and anxiety...blah, having issues....
When aren't you having issues exactly?
Good question...

Church was great for us, and Kimber and I went to Sonic for .99 rt44 drinks! Yay! It was so nice and cool outside tonight, I almost got chilled a few times! Refreshing from the nasty heat that it's been a being.
Gotta be awake and going in 4.5 hours from now and I'm not the least bit sleepy!
Oh...and Kimber brought me a bowl of some chicken soup stuff she made and she also gave me the gift of Chicken Poop. No joke.

This is why I come home after work and take naps. Because when I'm asleep my issues take the back seat.
I've taken a nap anywhere between 2 and 3 hours on Monday, on Tuesday and then today.

So Kimber DOES still exist. The existence of both Kimber and Chel have been frequently alluded to of late, but they have both been decidedly absent from the forum. Are they plotting something together? Should we be worried?
Should I go ahead and buy those anti-aircraft missiles?
The almost 5 inches of rain came so fast and the ground was so dry....it's not even muddy. Goodness.
And my corn is FLAT, flat, flat, flatter than a flitter. But praise God it didn't blow down before it was ready to pick. But I dread having to dig through it to pick it.

Still waiting on that though.
Had a wreck on the way home from work. Sigh.
Can't catch a break.
I'm fine physically. Emotionally not so much.

And in random sharing- Again- I believe I can safely say that the Corvette and its pain in the rear waterpump has been fixed. I am so happy. Indeed, I am so pleased I have done something I have long said I would never do. I have put a pot of pinto beans in the slowcooker for Lou. :o

Got to actually clock out on time today!! First time this week. Get to sleep in tomorrow. Only thing I have planned is a grilled cheese date with Sis Ketron (Pastors wife from church and surrogate mom when I can't deal with my own)
No aircraft missiles needed lol.. I've not heard from Chel.
I have been wrapped up in work and church, those two things alone can tie you up so much, I don't even speak to my family any more... For a good month I started to forget who I was and felt like a robot... But I am trying to calm stuff down now.
No promises on how often I will get online, but I can say that I need to have more people time in my life, I'm so sick of work!
But I am thankful I have a job.
I still love my car and I've not moved.. Still in my parents house.. My plans keep changing and as of right now I'm not to sure what God has planned but I feel something stirring..
My focus prayer as of late has been for me to be more sensitve to God.
I miss everyone on the forum, I had to skip two whole threads and part of this one just to come post, which shows me I have no clue whats going on in my friends lives..
Even you Mel and you live closest to me.,. Sorry Friend..
If anyone is interested in sending me text messages or that twitter stuff, those go directly to my phone and I can respond to those so much faster than fighting a family member for a computer, That way at least you know I am alive.
Ma and Pa shucked a wheelbarrow of corn while I picked a bushel of beans. Just finished cutting the corn off the cob in my sleep. Seriously.
I'm glad you weren't hurt badly, Lady JennJenn: we only have ONE of you!
John :waving:
kmymbir: You can't get yahoo on your phone anymore?
Jenn: Sorry to hear that. Makes it worse when you're the one at fault, you can't blame anyone else. I've been there. :-\
SippinTea: Did you give her the white cape? And if she's online on HER laptop, where is she? I don't see her on the forum anywhere... Tell her she's too popular to be gone so long.
In other news, tomorrow is Saturday and I have nothing at all planned. This makes me nervous, because on Saturdays when I have nothing planned something always comes up and I'm often running flat-out. A wedding I didn't know about that I need to run the sound booth for, a major music project someone needs done NOW, a gardening project Grandma wants help with that she forgot to tell me about... I'm kind of cringing, waiting for whatever it is to pop up. Not that I hate doing any of that stuff, I just hate being surprised by things people want me to do. I like a little advance notice.
In other, other news, anyone want some chocolate cheesecake? It was Blake's last day at work (moving on to another job) and we had barbecue, tater salad, baked beans, cake, ice cream and I made a rather large chocolate cheesecake. And more than half the cheesecake was left over. Come and get it.
And oh, yeah, glad you're alright, Fairy Cakes.

In the meantime, (pfft) there is a gift God has given us that is so wonderful that it (pfft) might even be compared to the manna we are told of in the Bible. This gift (pfft) is called black cherries. And whereas I picked up (pfft) a two pound bag yesterday, I (pfft) am currently making a breakfast of black cherries (pfft) by the simple expedient of sitting here in front of my computer with a bag of cherries and a (pfft) box to spit the pits in. (pfft)
*Psalm_97 (pfft) spits a cherry pit in Seth's direction.
There, grow that. Then you'll have cherries to can along with all the other produce you've been raking in.
I do need to plant a small orchard of sorts.
I'm in Pensacola. I can't even tell you what we experienced last night. It was awesome.
Don't everyone all share at once!
What do you mean, it's Saturday night, and everyone but me has a life?
Hmmppphhhh!!!!!

I've been very busy doing nothing at all. We who do nothing are the busiest people in the world, for we are never finished. As Calvin, of Calvin & Hobbes, says, "I always run out of time to get in all the goofing off I was planning on doing."
Oh, and I did get a minor dream shot down, but it was a rather unrealistic one and I had a feeling there was something wrong with it - I just couldn't put my finger on WHAT it was I felt was wrong with it. I just needed someone with a different perspective to identify what it was. So I called Bro. Phillip, explained it and he pointed out what was wrong with it immediately. I like having good friends with good insight and perspectives that I don't have. We complement each other.
Stuff.
Yay Mel! I hope you get to articulate it at some point.
What a blessing Isaac. I adore God's people... and those cherries sound awesome.
Went to the Ethnic Festival tonight. Over 60 ethnicities in KC. Booths from most of them selling food and what nots. Something about the Italian lemonade beats all along with a Vietnamese spring roll 'n' peanut sauce and Israeli falafel. Oh and Greek spanokotia or something to that effect. Which are cheesey spinach pastries, heavy on the flaky pastry part. My favorite performers are the Scottish bagpipes. They did Amazing Grace beautifully. The Japanese drummers were almost all white and the Hawaiians didn't seem like they practiced. Way to represent... lol

*HUGS* all around.
Melodya - you can make your instagram profile "private" so people can't follow you. That's what I do.
In the bottom of your screen - there should be a "profile" section. In that - top right hand corner is a little "star" type button. Click that - and once that opens, there is an option to select or un-select "photos are private". Then people can't see them or follow you. lol
Hope that helps!

Jenn, I seen on the news about the city of Dallas spraying insecticide over the city last night? I don't remember how close you are but wonder if you're affected or if you know some of the hundreds of people coming down with West Nile?
And I'm kind of perplexed how there is such a mosquito issue with a severe drought?

3. Aerial Spraying for West Nile Virus Resumes in Dallas
"
Dallas County officials say planes spraying aerial pesticides to battle an outbreak of West Nile virus has resumed over parts of the area that have not yet been sprayed. Five planes will spray a second coat on Monday night. Officials say traps in areas treated with pesticides now have fewer mosquitoes. "

We have had lots of rain this year compared to last year and the mosquitos are bad. We've already had someone die of the West Nile virus in our county.

Guess what!!!???
I'm with Mel in town.. and one of my favorite peoples sent US some stuff!!!
Seeing as I was here she is now required to share as to not spark my jealousy lol.
Oh and no I'm not able to get online, my phone is messed up, I also lost all my info in it.. I have nothing.
Ps... I quit my job.. and I feel like I'm back in Gods will.
I'm not sure... how does one reinstall an operating system on a smartphone? Is it possible?
In the world of Isaac... I am currently frustrated.
I have been tolerating certain eccentricities of my best (music making) computer for some time because I didn't want to have to reinstall from a backup image. Finally yesterday I bit the bullet, backed up all my files and tried to reinstall... the backup image wouldn't work!
This backup image is what I made AFTER I got my computer set up just the way I wanted it. I could reinstall from it and not have to go setting everything the way I want it, installing programs, changing settings... it would have already been done. I have used it to reinstall before. But this time it didn't work, so I had to do it the hard way - install a fresh Windows and go reinstalling programs, changing settings... bleh.
Then I go to reinstall some virtual instruments, and I find I neglected to save a backup copy. So I've been downloading fresh copies for hours.
I just want my computer back the way it was, minus the eccentricities that bugged me. Is that too much to ask? :frustrated: Everything is more difficult than it should be. I hate it when an inanimate object won't obey its master.
Morning. Going to the range today, so I will be pretty much absent from here until tonight...
Say a prayer for Taco. He went to the E.R. last night for chest pains and I got a text from RainbowJingles that they were keeping him overnight for observation, with a stress test this morning....I know he'd appreciate the prayers.
See ya tonight, have a great day. :hi:
Praying for Taco!
Off to work. At least we get free lunch today.
Praying
I don't think I'm up to date Kmymbir.
Do you still live with your family? And do you have another job lined up?
Heart cath today.... please pray!!
praying Taco! In Jesus Name!
This Charles Sturgeon devotion was so sweet, I just wanted to share with you guys.
I said not unto the seed of Jacob, Seek ye me in vain." — Isaiah 45:19
We may gain much solace by considering what God has not said. What He has said is inexpressibly full of comfort and delight; what He has not said is scarcely less rich in consolation. It was one of these "said nots" which preserved the kingdom of Israel in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash, for "the Lord said not that he would blot out the name of Israel from under heaven." 2 Kings 14:27. In our text we have an assurance that God will answer prayer, because He hath "not said unto the seed of Israel, Seek ye me in vain."
You who write bitter things against yourselves should remember that, let your doubts and fears say what they will, if God has not cut you off from mercy, there is no room for despair: even the voice of conscience is of little weight if it be not seconded by the voice of God. What God has said, tremble at! But suffer not your vain imaginings to overwhelm you with despondency and sinful despair.
Many timid persons have been vexed by the suspicion that there may be something in God's decree which shuts them out from hope, but here is a complete refutation to that troublesome fear, for no true seeker can be decreed to wrath. "I have not spoken in secret, in a dark place of the earth; I have not said," even in the secret of my unsearchable decree, "Seek ye me in vain."
God has clearly revealed that He will hear the prayer of those who call upon Him, and that declaration cannot be contravened. He has so firmly, so truthfully, so righteously spoken, that there can be no room for doubt. He does not reveal His mind in unintelligible words, but He speaks plainly and positively, "Ask, and ye shall receive." Believe, O trembler, this sure truth—that prayer must and shall be heard, and that never, even in the secrets of eternity, has the Lord said unto any living soul, "Seek ye me in vain."
How great and loving is our God!
Nevertheless for thy great mercies' sake thou didst not utterly consume them, nor forsake them; for thou art a gracious and merciful God. Neh 9:31

The he boss, or Boss Boy, as I've been referring to him as, called to ask me about covering the Target store this week cause the crying woman hurt her back or something. That poor scrawny old thing needs put out to pasture, she has way too many issues. :P
And wait till it's far enough into the week to mess up my schedule, that just really helps....
Cheese, you talk like that poor overloaded lady is an old nag....why waste time on putting her out to pasture, just head on down to the glue factory, ya hard hearted heathen. :P
And I am back. Had an absolutly terrific day. I got to shoot lots of ammo and got paid for it. The BIG boss, (Secretary of State's Chief Deputy, who makes over $100k a year, definatly not my level of folk) showed up at the range. He's always been a nice guy and gone out of his way to speak with me, but at the Capitol I am somewhat more reserved.
Not so at the range. While I insist on a safe range, I can't help kidding and tormenting folk when I am in my element and the range IS my element. One of the other instructors ran down and put up a target for him, trying to take care of him. Not me- next round when I called the course of fire, I made him put his own target up and tormented him just like I do my friends, even calling him out on some of his misplaced shots... He was shocked at first, I think.- He's somewhat used to folks kow-towing, I believe. Not so with me. I told him, "These guys act like you sign their checks." :laughhard: Oh wait- he does..... By the time he left he felt like one of the guys and told us that he had enjoyed it and hoped we would let him come back out with us next time... :freaky2:

Home from work. Day 2 of the week and I only wanted to slap 2 people. [1 was the same from yesterday.] My biggest problem is that these 2 people are the owner/Dr's/Capt'ns step daughter and step niece. Therefore any rules do not apply to them. Anytime you try to help them you get yelled at. They sit in the back ignoring all customers and phone calls. They gossip about EVERYONE. They are just horrid people.....

home from church and finally getting a bowl of the Bacon Cheeseburger soup I made. It turned out pretty good! I think it may need more meat next time though.
I can't imagine while I'm eating so late every night why I'm not losing weight... lol I do literally crave a sweet after dinner. It's kind of annoying when I haven't made anything. That's a good way to not overeat junk food if you have to be the one constantly making it from scratch and have kids ready to pounce on it.
Tom Bush preached tonight and he did great. Talked about the 3 birds that are not nocturnal that sing in the middle of the night. Even with the threat of the owl hunting them. It was from Isa.54:1. Good stuff.
A bit of personal sharing...
Hannah is 10 wanting to be going on 17. On one hand she's naive and peppy, quick to love people, on the other her personality struggles with wanting to be cool. Today, after wanting to change outfits for the 3rd time, I reprimanded her letting her know she was crossing he line into vanity. Wow. Did that strike a nerve and reveal some stuff. I thought perhaps she just hit the teenitude stage right then. We got the chance to discuss the difference between name calling and calling something out. That if our hearts are right, we don't get attitudes. And that our sin is obvious to those around us. Also that focussing on ourselves is not of the Holy Ghost. Any other time she would have heard what I said and realized she was being silly and went onto something else. Today, the devil tried to take some ground and he LOST. It's amazing how a 10yr old can understand how the Word of God is a two edged sword and how a wise child hears their parents instruction/ chastening. They might be younger but God's truths are not hard to understand. And I find myself saying this over the years and still in moment like this: "I love you too much for you to be a brat." The day ended well with repentance and hugs and more discussion on feelings, being aware of other's feelings, and perspective.
I am strict on my kids, that will not change. But I gain such a love for God and a soberness? seriousness? I don't know the right word, about handling their hearts. Sometimes even kids can be carnal and manipulative. I can't always dote on them because they claim victim. But I also have to remember that carnality is a slick thing that doesn't always consciously have ill intentions. It's survival and kids will do whatever they're allowed to get what they want. We have to address both the naivity and the carnality which is so much more personal, delicate and specific than dealing with an adult. I don't know if I explained that right but perhaps somebody found that interesting.. lol
I'm not a mean mama, I promise... LOL I'm not all "everything is the devil or a spirit" but I do feel like today Hannah was battling something more than even just carnality. Later, she said that she wanted to hurt my feelings and stay angry when she was chastened and we discussed that the devil is the same way. He's mad that he's getting in trouble and instead of repenting, he is trying to hurt God by getting as many people to follow him as possible. The Holy Ghost doesn't do that. The love of Jesus works the fruit of the Spirit in us. So simple and yet adults struggle with the same things. Oh the mercy and love of God!
My goal is that my kids have more discipline in their lives from the get go so that they can attain more in God as they grow. Jesus help me.

Your daughter is insightful, perspicacious and more importantly honest. Many adults do the same thing and never notice what they are doing, and if they do notice they have far too much pride to admit, even to themselves, that they were doing it.

At McDs with dad. I had oatmeal this morning and an iced coffee. Usually I get a sausage biscuit or a sausage mcmuffin, and a hot coffee. This was a nice change. I wish the oatmeals were on the dollar menu though, I'd have two instead of one. I love them but it's a little too expensive for the quantity.
Wound care today, and then errands.
Awesome post MY!!
Work and I'm going to church tonight. I don't care the funny looks I get! A few weeks ago I dyed my hair :( I should have known the pattern and prayed against it, but anytime I make headway on my spiritual life I always end up lashing out. Generally my victim of choice ends up being my poor hair. I currently don't have the cash to fix it. I pray something IN me changes. I pray God changes my insides so I don't feel the desire to hurt my outsides (hair, tattoos, etc).

No I do not have another job lined up, I decided to jump out on faith, I'm trying to make my own way by going after money.. God had to remind me to trust him and let Him supply.
It's complicated I guess.
Yes I still live with my parents at this time, but I know God is still going to move me, there was just a few things I had to learn the hard way first lol.
Hope to be going home soon!

I haven't seen Chel in hmm...a year? Two? Four? Three thousand and sixty three?
Heather, I was just reading something that I thought might help you:
Paul said in 2 Corinthians 12:9-‐10 "9 And He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness." Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ's sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong."
Jesus said to Paul that HIS glorious strength doesn't come into full being unless it has come in contact with weakness. Taking it further, how do you reveal strength without weakness being present in the same moment?
At the gym, we see the strength of the weight lifter because of the weakness of the weight. (It can't lift itself)
We see the power of the wind in the weakness of the leaves. (They can't move themselves)
Therefore, weakness is a vehicle for revelation. The revelation of His strength. Through what the weakness cannot do, His power can be seen!
I haven't seen Chel since the beginning of Aug 2011.

Church got canceled due to traffic because of NASCAR. Good of that is mom is helping me try to fix my hair. Right now it's brown, red, orange, and blonde. It's a mess.
