And in the meantime I think I'll make some chocolate pudding. Any takers?
*HUGS* Heather.
Nice, WC. Although I don't itch anymore. Lol
Ugh. It is morning. If the two angels in my life ever get up, we are going to Litttle Rock today to Sam's Club. Lou bought a membership through work and we've never been there to pick up her membership card, much less shop. So, yes, I am going to fight Little Rock traffic on the one day that I don't have to fight it...... :-\ And Chey wants to see "Daddy's work" again.... Lord, I don't wanna be near that place. :laughhard:
:hi: Glad it's Friday. :)

Headed to the Virginia District Campgrounds soon to get our young people from youth camp. Praying they all come back on fire for God!! Pray for a safe journey! Pray for the driver as well, five am was many many hours ago.

Ha.
Seriously, I feel horrid. Like someone has an air compressor held up to my nose and is blowing my head up. (Lovely description thanks to my hubby).
:beret:
It's my parents 30th anniversary today. So due to today's date I'm staying at Brandons moms house. Mostly as an excuse to hang out with my dog :)
I bet he was happy to see you!
SippinTea: Horseradish works wonders for clearing the sinuses out.
Maybe so. But the cure would kill me even if the illness didn't. :P
:beret:
Just stick a horseradish up your snoot.
Wheeeeeeee!! :bustamove:
OK. That's all for now.
John :waving:
Been up, got a shower and dressed, took dad to dialysis, got gas, came home, unloaded the dishwasher, put supper in the crock pot, drank a V8, and put medicine on my burns. All before 6:15am! Now I'm gonna sleep a couple of hours more before I gotta get up and go do nursing home ministry.
:hi:
I am dragging today....Stayed up until after midnight last night, and got up around 9 ish today. Can't get motivated to do anything. Good thing there is nothing that has to be done.... :hi:
We are back from nursing home ministry, and there is nothing left in this day that I HAVE to do. I cleaned the house yesterday, so today is gonna be nice o not have to do much of anything.
Broadcasting live from the church. Bake sale / yard sale / car wash. This is exactly why I got this AT&T USB clip. :) I could be out in the middle of the woods and still be online, as long as there's a cell phone signal.
My little Whiskeykins was soo excited to see me :) I miss her terribly...
Went to Goodwill over in Kingsport. They have apostolic churches every couple blocks so they usually have a better selection on skirts over there. Lol.
Only thing I have left to do today is head to my friend EA's birthday hootenanny. She was the executive director at the theatre where I did all my plays. Sadly the theatre has all but shut down thanks to the board. Sigh. But it'll be great to see all my old friends :)
My internet went off last night during the storm and just now came back on.
There is a storm just east of us, and it's been windy and thundering...but only a sprinkle thus far....*weeps...... It's raining at church probably.
Went to work earlier and came home and watered some fowl and such....
Gotta get ready to go to church shortly.
Oh Lawd.....Chey and I did our "riding around in Rusty" thing today, then came home. Lou came in and decided that we were 1) going to go to a little country diner and eat and 2) We were taking Rusty and she was driving. After a white knuckled ride (for me), she decided we'd go to ANOTHER country diner. I remarked that the pastor and his wife often ate there on Sat. night.... that did it....the outfit that she had on was not good enough to encounter the pastor and wife. We are now back at home while she changes. :laughhard:
Needless to say, being much less the slave to fashion- face it, a tux wouldn't help me, kinda like putting perfume on a pig :biglaugh:- I am wearing what we started in. Overalls. And a nice long sleeve shirt. I *might* take off my green farmer's hat- when I sit down. :laughhard:
And apparently, we are switching to the air conditioned Caddy...much more suitable for dinner with the pastor don't ya know.... :hypocrite:
:laughhard: :laughhard:
:laughhard: Nice. I'm afraid your wife would be horrified at me. I would probably drive Rusty on PURPOSE, and wear outlandish clothes to boot. *grin* But that would probably depend on if I was in a feisty mood or not. :P
Heather! The Goodwill/skirts comment made me laugh!
:beret:
Went to church, came home.
It had rained more there...not a lot, but more than over here, which was only a sprinkle. It'd been really windy over there too, all kinds of debris in the road.
Anddddd, the a/c is not working at the church.... :yikes:
I'm eating a squash with butter and cinnamon.
That's just gross.
I'm going to bed. And I'm mad at Seth.
We have a full out bi-lingual service planned out for today. I'm nervous cause we don't really know these songs in Spanish and we have to sing them. Lol
I'm also really really sleepy. Wish I could go back to sleep, but I'm up and headed to the shower.
Word: rangy [rang·y]
Definition
Adjective: Having long slender limbs.
Adjective: Inclined to rove.
My cat eats and eats, but she still looks like I starve her to death. She spends most of the day in the woods out back, hunting and eating wild game. She definitely has that rangy look.
In other news, at a yard sale yesterday some guy was selling a stove for $40 and a dryer for $25. He said they both worked, but he already had a stove and dryer and his landlord said just get rid of them. If I'd had room to store them I would have bought them to resell somewhere.
Fixing to head to church. I had a good conversation with one of my young people that really stirred in my memory a message I preached several years ago. I went back and started going over it, and man, I know why the conversation stirred the thought of that message. I'm going in on fire today...so much for a tame Sunday school lesson...LOL
It rained a half inch last night, yay, thank the Lord.
Right after I posted last, our lights went half out. Yes, half out. There was power enough that some lights would come partially on, other stuff wanted to but couldn't.... Weirdest thing ever.
Then finally it went all the way out. Was back on before morning, thankfully.
It's not sweltering out presently so maybe it won't be so bad at church.

Morning, all...I'm dragging, as has been the norm the last bit. Didn't get much sleep last night. Supposed to teach Adult Sunday School today, as our regular teacher is out of town and our backup is down after having surgery...
I'm awake before church time this Sunday HOORAY!!
Last night everyone kept going on and on about how long my hair has gotten. I couldn't help but laugh. I 1st met most of those theatre people 4-5 months after I had shaved my head a few years ago. I couldn't help but look back and thank God for getting me through those times to where I am today (not that I'm still not a mess, just not as big of one  )

The air was working this morning, so that was good at least.
I'm, glad things are better for you, Lady Heather. There is a FB group of Apostolic singles I'm part of, where there is a lot of encouragement and upliftting one another in prayer that takes place. I'd be happy to introduce you to the group, if you are interested.
John :waving:
Sir John, that would be amazing.
I've talked to Mel about it some, but I get little to no encouragement throughout the week to go to church. I go every Sunday to hear about all the fun fellowship everyone has had with each other throughout the week and all their inside jokes. And regardless of how often I try to ask people to hang out or to be a part of anything I'm still left sitting at home. If not for the pastor and his wife I'd have left the church already.
Stormed and lights went out again. Took a nap. Lights are back on. Raining again, wahoO!
Eating another butter cinnamon squash.
Looks like we might get some rain. Maybe I won't lose internet service this time...
We have had rain off an on all day today too. Luckily it rained while we were at church so dads wheelchair didn't get wet. Just as soon as I got it out of the truck and him in the house, the bottom fell out again.
Praise god, we got some rain as well....Not near enogh, but I won't complain. It was a lot better than what we've been getting..... fixin' to eat a bite while I slurp on my Rt. 44 Cherry Vanilla Cream Dr Pepper.... :fork:
Sethers - *curtsies* Why, thank you!
Heather - Well then. I guess you and me should hang out more. Coffee at my house this week? How's Thursday afternoon? :)
Horridly hot here, too. It's about 80 in our house WITH the air on. Ugh. It kinda looked like a storm was attempting to blow in, though. We shall see.

Yeah, you wouldn't believe how many times that happened with me. I used to ride a bike to work, and for 4 years God routed the rain around my work schedule. :) Sometimes it would hold off, sometimes God would tell me to get there half an hour early or something. When Isaac showed up early, make sure your windows are up. But more often than not, if it was going to rain it would start just when I got to work and got inside.
I've only done this once or twice, so will see if I get it done correctly!

Oh lawd.....the "grass" wasn't enough. Now she's bringing the 60s back with a ukelele...shades of Tiny Tim tiptoeing through the tulips...:hippy:...run andrew, run. There IS life after the 60s... :laughhard:
I heard ukuleles are sometimes im bluegrass music. His school has a uke club he wanted to be in it last year but we didn't get to it in time.
Not Tiny Tim. Think Jack Johnson.
I've never heard of a ukulele in bluegreass... mandolins, banjos, dobros, fiddles, guitars or dulicmers, I've heard of. Interesting.

:eyebrow: spin doctor meller..... now, since it is andrew and not you playing it, I'll go easy. :laughhard: after all, I asked for a guitar when I was a boy and my mom boughtg be a ukelele. I never did learn how to play it though...
Whew. Finally home.
Dad runs faster without a leg than he did with one. Unfortunately, that means I'm runnin too.
We went to the DMV, McDs for breakfast, pawn shop, pharmacy, another pawn shop, auto parts store, post office, another pawn shop, drs office, dry cleaners, and finally Walmart and home again.
You can have a lot of stuff in bluegrass. It ain't what you're playing, it's how you play it. :D
But some instruments are more suitable than others. A banjo, by definition, is good for bluegrass. A synth pad would probably not be as easy to fit in.
A uke would sound very good. "They're holding up the ladder that I'm climbing on, I'm climbing up this ladder and I'm going home..."

Meanwhile, Lou has taken my angelfluff to get her pictures made today and Chey nearly got them kicked out of the portrait studio. While veiwing the proofs on the computer, Chey took Mama's phone and took a picture of the picture on the screen and sent it to Daddy. The manager nearly had a stroke, yelling, "You can't do that!" I'm tired. And I've been starving all day. Don't know why. I've eaten good, just can't seem to get enough. I can't do that! I'm big enough already.
Just woke myself up by knocking my glass of water off the desk.
I seem to always wake up way to early on the mornings I have to be in the earliest. I already need a nap. Praying 1 o'clock comes quickly.
Back at work. Get to go hang out at a real estate auction today and ensure that deadbeats that didn't pay their property tax don't try to harm the employees who are selling the land.... Somehow, I'm thinking this is gonna be a long day.... :hi:
:hi: I'm tired of my internet being out at home every time it storms. blah
A guy from church brought us a Walmart bag full of shelled peas and a mess of okra last night. I took dad to Dailysis this morning and came back and put some peas in the crockpot with a ham hock, onion, seasonings and a few of the okra. It's already smelling the whole house up! Yummy! Later I'll cook the other okra down in a pan with some onion, and cook us some squash and cornbread...that with a glass of buttermilk and some raw onion and we will have an awesome meal! :fork:
I love a good southern meal. :yum:
Headed to go get dad in a few, and the three of us are going to Gulfport or somewhere to look at flooring for the kitchen. Gonna finally get it fixed. Won't be able to yell GROUT! anymore! Haha! That will be nice!

My AT&T USB clip works in storms. And in sunshine, and at home, and at church, and in the middle of the woods... It's $68 a month though - I wouldn't recommend it for everyone. Guess it's a matter of how much you want to pay versus how much inconvenience it is when your connection is gone.

I need it for at least 3 computers at a time and I don't think that USB thingy will run but one, plus I need unlimited internet.
You're so needy.

Yeah, definitely not for you. The three computers at a time can be done, with a wireless router made for these USB clips, but unlimited is out of the question.
Actually... I can't believe I'm saying this, but dial-up is a good, cheap, surprisingly reliable fall-back. For Frys ISP at $6 a month you can probably afford to get it in addition to your main connection. I mention Frys because I tried it and it worked. There are probably others as cheap.
Dial up is so slow it is not really worth the irritation. I had it for ages. We had to go to satellite when Chel was in nursing school because she couldn't do her work and tests on dial up. Now were are on "wireless" (not from cell phone) but I think their main feed must be satellite since it goes out in the storms like our old satellite did.
Been cleaning out the freezer....pretty much everything in it was old stuff that was to scrap. Basically from 95 up....various years....lol There were some extremely fruitful years back there we had stuff from.... I don't know how many gallons of blackberries I picked in the latter half of the 90s... :freaky: The oldest prize was some dry beans that have been in there all my life basically....I always remember them being in there and any time we cleaned the freezer out we put them back for some reason....did away with them this time. They were from 79. :o
:smirk2:
Wasteful. Why save it all those years if you will just throw it away now? Tisk tisk! Think of the orphans! The starving orphans! :thumbsup2:
(That was for you, Thomas...I miss you. :( )
It becomes forgotten after a while for some reason.
Oh well. Chicken food.
They already ate the tortillas and corndogs.
The other fruit/vegetable stuff is still thawing. :P
I have a headache that is bordering migraine. It's kicking my patootie currently.
Tomorrow evening we're having a southern gospel group sing. We're usually not a southern gospel type church but it'll be fun. It'll be different. Anyone heard of the Hutton's? I can't remember where they are from.
Had a very encouraging pep talk from Sister Ketron (my amazing Pastor's wife) yesterday. I go to church for God and myself. Phooey on everyone else (including church folk).
We had a yummy dinner of peas, boiled okra, yellow squash, cornbread, and onion. I had mine with a glass of buttermilk. Yummmm!
And I bagged up 8 quart sized baggies of peas and put them in the freezer...they won't be there for years though like SOME people. Each bag was carefully measured into 2.5 cups per bag.
We still have fresh okra that I havent done anything with. Not sure how to put up okra...need to google that.
Don't know what I am gonna cook tomorrow. Maybe use the leftover chicken and make some dumplins. Dad loves that.
Dude...my whole post was about food. :o and I'm hungry still, even after that lovely dinner, plus our lunch at the Mexican place today...what is wrong with me?! I'm a big girl, but I never STAY hungry. It's like I can't get enough the past few days. :smirk2:
Not good.
Triple. Lol
Ok...I think I had a revelation. Do steroids make you insanely hungry? Cause I've been on them since Wednesday, and won't be off of them for another 6 days. Maybe that's it.
BTW...I just ate a bowl of Lucky Charms. And that's IT for tonight. NO MORE! ...Oh look! Jelly Bears!
It finally rained here in Arkadelphia!! Thank you Lord!
At work. It came a nice rain yesterdayevening/ last night. Apparently around midnight it turned into a decent storm, as my clock was showing that the power went out. Nice to see puddles in the driveway this morning. My lawn is already greening up.....I might get to mow it again. :clap2:
Then you will be complaining that it needs to be mowed. SMH.
We are up and at 'em. Every. Single. Day. Dad has somewhere to go. Today he has to get a sonagram done on his arm, to see if his port is healing where they reconstructed it during his hospital stay. Then we are headed to see Wesley in the hospital, and then paying 7 different bills and going to the auto parts store, dollar store, and WM.
Then maybe we can come home.
At work. It's a gloomy day here in East Tennessee. Hopefully it'll rain some more but not too much more. We're having some flash flood issues after the downpours of yesterday.
My whole body hurts. I'd like to be home in bed please.
We got some more rain last night, not too much but after last year's drought we're glad to get it.

One of the minimal chances I have to move in our company (without going to like a store manager or something along those lines; trying to stay in the admin arena).

I will still wear sunscreen though. I can't take a chance on getting any more sun. :o
Is it prednisone? One of my former bosses, was put on prednisone once for something, and he said he cooked a roast in the crock pot one day, and made a strawberry cake and ate both items in one sitting...LOL
Morning y'all. I slept till after noon. No great feat, I didn't get to bed till after 4am, but still... Second shift + overtime = a tired guy. Thank you God for a good night's... er, day's sleep.
No fun Mel! Maybe you can drink stuff instead of eating stuff and it'll pacify without making you gain as much as eating would?
Most my posts are about food, so I must be on steroids. Although, I really don't eat as much as I talk about it... lol
I'm a little burnt out with cooking. I know the fall/holidays will be here soon enough and I just want to enjoy the summer. It's all I can do to keep my 2 tomato plants and pepper plants alive. If I just get one tomato, I'll be happy.
PF, how often do you water your tomatoes when it's 95°? The last 2 weeks it hovered around 105° so we watered them every day enough that the leaves looked perky. I'm afraid all the watering will make them not take deep enough roots though. Is that logical? Same with our green bell pepper plant.
I'm not expecting a thing on our new blueberry bush as it was more of an investment.
And upon coming home from a short jaunt up north, we were greeted by the trail of a mouse. I'm back to hating this house. I'm afraid that Nathan will just say there is no way to keep mice out and that is completely unacceptable.
Get a cat. Little Nancia stays active and I haven't seen mouse #1 since she moved in.

We always water about sunrise or sundown. I think sundown is best, because the water will stick around longer with the cooler night temps.

so i have to go pick my dog up tomorrow from Brandon's moms. she fed my dog a 17.6 pound bag of dog food in 2 weeks :o that would normally lasst Whiskey about 1.5 months in my house :o no wondering she's broken her housetraining!!!! i got permission from the head Dr at work and she will be a new resident in the Groom room until I can move in 2-3 months. Plus i get to see her every day and can easily go pick her up on the weekends for field trips instead of seeing her once every 2 weeks.
getting ready to head to church. not a fan of southern gospel music but it'll at least be interesting and a bit different.
Lord....another day closer to the weekend. Off to church....Bro Wilson just texted me and needs me to have something tonight. "Lord, be with thy servant and multiply the few crumbs I have into a meal for the church. Failing that, don't let them snore too loud..."
Thanks guys. I'll keep watering them then, we usually do it at sundown.
I cleaned out all my cabinets then went and bought mason jars. I transfered anything in plastic or cardboard to a jar. Nathan set some traps. I on the other hand would think it much more sensible to just burn down the entire house... Outside, nothing really bothers me, unless it's literally on my body, and even then, only if I'm startled by it. I'm not the girl afraid to kill a spider or snake. But in my house... where my mumchkins sleep... no way. Death sentence is the only option.
And no, Isaac... again. I will never get a cat. I only like other people's cats, and even then, mostly from across the room or in pictures. *gag* You see the latest research on cats? How the bacteria associated with them is now linked to hormonal issues and even suicides?
Plus, much to my dismay because 1. we've never had it before and haven't been around anyone who's had it until the actual bus ride to camp. 2. I just washed Hannah's hair Sunday night and did it Monday morning... when Hannah got to camp Monday, one of our chaperones said she had lice. Apparently there was an outbreak of it on the same bus last week, of which we do not ride nor were in town. But another little girl does but apparently Hannah is the only one with it per the site of this chaperone. Now, this person is a grace builder in my life and I'm inclined to think she may also now be blind. So, humiliated and in pain, Hannah was shampooed and thoroughly combed first thing. Hannah's hair was tightly up, but down, it's to the back of her knee caps so I'm sure when they seen all that hair and was told she had "nits" there could have been a small panic. She called bawling and wanting to come home. It's a 7hr drive. I told her to wait till the next morning and see how she feels. She has chosen to stay despite random kids asking her if she still has lice. Upon trying to figure out where in the world she could have gotten it, she was told CATS also can carry it. Well, she was around a few cats of my SIL. Though I've not heard that they have had an issue.
*sigh*
Someone say "burn the whole house down"?
Can I help?! :hyper:
Odd. We've had cats all my life growing up, with no bacteria, lice, hormonal or any other kind of trouble. Fleas, now... one of the cats had a bad case of fleas one time. But that's about it.
Me too. Fleas only.

take me with you when you go Mel!!!!!
and as far as possible lice from a cat to human, you are more likely to get struck by lightening. lice are species specific. meaning if you SIL cat's did have lice they wouldn't be the same ones your child could have. they are not like fleas that are out for anyone. lol. if she did have nits and/or lice she would of had to gotten them from another human. just my :twocents: from the animal hospital
also I'll take my cats and whatever mumbo jumbo people are trashing them for now, they make me way too happy and keep me company when no one else will
That just confirms my suspicions that really, she didn't have lice in the first place. Some people aren't your enemies. They just act like it. lol Lord bless 'em.
Howdy!

Mel, that stuff is icky. That's what Dad was on for months. :sadbounce: Seriously, be extra cautious when you're driving, please. My dad is one of the safest drivers I know, and was in three (yes THREE - all of them his fault) accidents in about a year because of that stuff. Please be careful. *worries* I'm a little twitchy now whenever someone says Prednisone.

Started picking green beans tonight.... Gotta go to bed so I can continue picking beans and breaking beans and canning beans and picking beans and breaking beans and canning beans and everything else on top of that.

o.O That's why my dentist said he stopped using nitrous oxide gas. His patients kept having vehicle accidents on the way home.
Off to work!
Taco, you are mentally off anyway. Mel, My dad had to take prednisone when he had his kidney transplant. Sun was a major no-no for him.....I didn't know about it causing other issues though. :o
Last night went well. I felt delivered and the church responded, and no one was snoring. I consider that last to cause it to be a victory on my end.
Back at work. And it is my Friday. :clap2:  :clap2:

The only effects I have had from it is extreme hunger. Like seriously. I'll eat a normal sized meal, and wish I had more, or I'll eat something else and still not be satisfied, even though I have eaten quite a bit.
Yesterday I missed three turns while driving, but it was cause I had a bad headache and was not thinking where I was going. I was just cruising along and not paying attention that the place I needed to go was coming up. And that was the day dad decides to be quiet and NOT tell me where to turn, even when I know already, and I missed the turns and proved his point. :smirk2:
But I know that was due to the headache. Cause after I stopped at a store and drank a huge Mountian Dew, the caffeine helped my head and I was driving fine again.
I am almost off the pills anyway...when I started them last Wednesday, I was taking 8 at a time...for four days, then I took 6 for three days, now I'm on 4 for three days, and Saturday I start 2 for three days and I'll be done. You have to wean off of them. So 4 more days and I'm done! Yay!

All of our dogs have stunk if we didn't give them a bath. None of our cats ever stunk.
Just a random observation...
Half frozen milk in a 20 oz plastic bottle will bounce about 3 times if you drop it...
At least it bounced on the floor instead of hitting your toe. Toes don't bounce frozen milk nearly as well, and they hurt a lot more.
To be more specific cat urine smells. Very bad. It lingers.
We're all allergic to cats anyway...in my family. haha
I was traumatized as a kid by a cat we had named Calico...she'd hide under my bed and claw at me when I'd climb out.
Oddly enough, though I've noticed that problem with some other people's houses when they had cats, we never had that problem. Maybe it has to do with how often Mom policed the litter box. Or maybe we just had good cats.
This one lady two doors down had a lot of cats. Rattle the cat food bag and it was like a furry storm of cats all converging on you. Now that house stunk!
It's so funny about pets. We're all set in our ways.
I'll never like cats. I do think they stink. Some dogs do as well but mine doesn't very often, like twice a yr. But I think diet/lifestyle play a part. Andrew used to have a turtle named Max who if we didn't stay on it, would stink. When we took him for walks, we'd tape a flag on him so we wouldn't lose him in the grass. He was FAST. lol
I'm not interested in any pet that resembles a rat in any way either... Lol
You took your turtle for walks? hahaha love it
Can we talk about something else? Not pets or food anymore? Lol
So...what color is your toilet brush?
Yes I think all but fish need fresh air & sunshine walks through the grass. We enjoyed Max a lot, I should dig up a photo. His favorite ffood was those fresh cranberries that Ocean Spray bagged at the holidays. When we took him out & let him roam the living room, he's go hide in Andrew's armpit when he layed on the floor... Lol Hyper, shrilling Hannah scared that poor turtle whenever she bounced around him. Turtles are not very expressive but it was a perfect first pet.
Ooops. Sorry Mel.
I gotta go clean the church today. I'm SO glad this week isn't in the hundreds!
I went to old navy to get one of thise jersey skirts with the V pattern & they are to the middle of my shins! Apparently I'm a midget. Their long ones are also too long. I tried one on & had to hike it up to empire waiste for it to only go to the floor... Lol
HELP!! I'm shrinking!!!
Haha. I don't care. I'm just bored.
No church this week cause of campmeeting, and I have nothing to look forward to till Sunday, and all my friends are at camp. Lol so yeah.
Ya know... cord wood costs more split than unsplit, right? I think I should order about 3 cords of unsplit wood, make my boys split it, and resell it tomorrow for more money. They need something active to get them out of my hair (bored kids are horrid kids - just sayin') and then I can earn a little extra money, too. :bigcheese:
:beret:
Do it!
Once a man asked his friend why he was raising so much corn, making his boys work so hard. "You know you don't need THAT much corn!"
The farmer wisely replied, "I am not raising corn. I am raising boys."
Sounds like a great idea, Ruby!
I just took a ride in my car. I'm not using it till I can get some insurance on it, but Dad said I should drive it at least once a week to keep the battery charged and it running properly. So I just rode down to the interstate and back in a big loop. About a 4 mile round trip. That should be enough every week. :)

With there not being much rain, the grass isn't really so much growing as it is dying. So Andrew doesn't have anything to mow. Last week, it was in the evening and he was on the negative side so I made him go do five laps in the back yard. Our yard is big enough and he was far better when he came back in. I have to remind them that boredom is a choice, and the very poorest at that. They both are the most compliant on the days they have to help me clean the church.
UGH!
Have I said lately how much I HATE HATE HATE pain pills and peoples stupid addiction to them?
TWO DAYS. Thats all she lasted...now I gotta take her to the ER do she can convince the dr to give her some till she can go back to her regular dr and get more. Two stupid days? You have got to be kidding me!! :pullhair:
I HATE THIS CYCLE! Round and round she goes for pain meds. Makes me want to puke.

Thanks. Sorry...this is the ONLY safe place I can vent. Too many people on FB that would LOVE to get a hold of info like this. You guys are safe.
I dont know if that's a good thing (for y'all) or not. Lol
Going to church shortly.
Went to church, came home. Glad you all waited on me.
Grandma went for a blood test today, just a general test the doctor had ordered to have done whenever. After they got home, they got a call to go back to the hospital because her blood count was low. So she's in the hospital tonight getting blood.
I went and had ice cream with Granny. Two blessed hours of being able to just be myself and get AWAY from things made me feel a lot better. :D
Ice cream is a lovely thing.
Nathan caught a mouse! Hopefully, THE mouse. I feel like I can go to sleep better tonight. And I suppose I will hold off on burning down the house... for now.
I'm still moved by the WW1 museum we went to on the 4th. We went with friends who had been to the one in DC and they said that one is rinky dink compared to ours. It was built six years after the war. It is amazing and it stirred my soul. Never have I been so affected by a museum. No, I haven't seen the hollocost one yet.
If any of you enjoy history/war info, I think you'll enjoy this. Nathan and I want to go back on a date sometime. Does that sound weird? We spent 4.5 hrs there and it wasn't long enough. The kids were losing steam by then. They list in chronological order beginning with what was going on prewar and what started it.
Does it mean I'm getting old if I enjoyed something so sobering? It's very rich with info and things to look at. It highlights Missouri's/Kansas City's role in it all. It has an entire hall dedicated to the inter-allied games which is what started the olympics if I understand right. I wish we had a WWII museum too.
Goodnight people. And Seth.
So, Seth is not a people? lol
Morning. :hi: Busy, busy day ahead....Got tons of "honey-do's" to do , getting ready for a guest :freaky2:, Need to mow the yard, go to town and take care of some business, come home and do a little final paint prep on Rusty before taking him over to be painted tonight....Whew. I'm tired just thinking about it....
:hi: I'm at work.

Seth doesn't claim to be a people...he claims that people are weird.
Fixing to go to the grocery store.
If thats his definition of weird, he most definitely are a people.
You're all crack heads.
Picked another bucket of beans this morning. 3 rows down, 5 rows to go.
Probly going to run up and see granny in the hospital later.
I need the Amish.
There was a flying squirrel in the dove cage last night snacking on their food. I hadn't seen one for years.

Agreed, no fair! :-\
Too late. I dozed in and out for about an hour.
We are having leftovers tonight. Peas, corn bread, chicken and dumplings, hamburgers, macaroni salad, okra...take yer pick.
Went to the hospital and seen grandma.
She is in the same room I was in when I was in there. Dejavu. lol Tyler the tech that's Bro. Hawkins's son was working today too.
Well. Rusty is painted. He has much more "character" than I realized, all in the form of dings and dents. The paint job will never be mistaken for Gene Winfield (painting legend in 1950's show cars)- maybe more Helen Kellar. :laughhard: But Chey says Rusty is "pretty" and the metal is sealed......that's all that matters.
Picked another 5 gallon bucket of beans. Eating a snack. Going back to pick more beans till it's too dark to see in a minute.
I think I'll go to bed. Gotta get up at 4 and take dad to town.

That didn't make sense.
Got up, went to town, came back, cleaned the kitchen, put dinner in the crock pot (BBQ ribs), took a nap, got up again, fixing to go get dad.
Today, tomorrow and Monday left on these steroids. And I am still starving to death. Can't eat, can't eat, can't eat. I keep telling myself that. Gotta wait till mealtimes and eat reasonably.

They fit me perfectly  Granted I'm also the tallest lady at church. Especially if I'm wearing heels. I've learned it helps when worshipping. Instead of everyones arms hitting each others, mine are all above everyone elses head/reach
Made it through the work week. I refuse to call the majority of my fellow employees 'coworkers'. That would imply that they actually work.
Southern Gospel night at church wasn't too bad. But I did request that we do Black Gospel night soon :biglaugh: I think everyone under 35 would enjoy it more.
Poor Brandon keeps getting dragged to weddings since dating me. Today will make the 5th one in a year but it's the last one for awhile. My only friend that's engaged lives in Northern Ireland. Also it's a girl from church. I'm hoping if we go, he meets some people from church, he likes some people from church then it'll make him more likely to go to church with me sometime.
oh and I forgot the complete weirdness of Wednesday night. A few sunday's ago my ex-husbands [who I don't even speak to] new wife [who I actually really like] approached me at church to ask me some fashion advice. Now I'm by no means the most stylish person and I have a very basic approach to my outfits, but she is starting a teaching job soon at a local high school and realizes that a jean skirt and t-shirt probably won't cut it. So I gave her a few pointers like if you find a certain cut shirt or skirt you like, but a couple different colors of it that way you can mix and match. A cardigan and scarf can change up the same outfit so it looks different. Etc.
Well low and behold if we didn't show up in almost the exact same stinkin outfit on Wednesday!!!! :o I didn't know she wanted to be my twin. Safe to say I was a bit creeped out.....

Well this day sure was intresting.
Went to pick up dad from dialysis and ended up taking him to the ER. The dialysis people didn't want to let him go with me, they wanted to call an ambulance, cause his BP was so high. So I took him to the hospital. Got him in there and mom (who was at home and didn't bother to come to the hospital) called my brother Chad so he could pray, well the next thing we know, Chad walks in the ER! He was here, been here since yesterday and wasn't going to even tell us till tomorrow when they showed up at church! If dad had not been in the ER, we would have not known. I HATE THAT. Come to visit, and stay here two days before you even let us know? All we get is church service and a rushed lunch with them!
Made me very very ticked off today. And I don't mind who knows it. :smirk2: It's always like that...but if we were to go to Florida unannounced, it would be unexceptable. Dad said we ought to go down there next time and not tell them till we show up, but I told dad that for us, it would backfire and while we were there, they would be HERE. Buncha c r a p.
Anyway. Dad is fine, they got his pressure down and his pain subsided, and released him. We came home and had a nice dinner and then he wanted to go to the dollar store to buy gifts for the kids, and we haven't heard from my brother since.
And tomorrow, I'll smile and hug them all, and act normal and like I'm not ticked. It's how I am.
:frustrated:
So that was my day. I'm currently washing some clothes and fixing to go to bed.
Hannah had a birthday party today where it was a private girls only swim. I haven't swam in years. It was LOVELY!
After being out of town last Sunday, I am really looking forward to church. Jesus, please give some extra blessings for my friends tomorrow.
I think my sad tomato plants are eunuchs... Not in the marred kind of way but the born steril? kind of way.
It's been such a busy day but first thing this morning, Nathan and I went out for coffee. Let me tell yas: There is nothing more attractive than a man who's got vision for his family/marriage/ministry ect, & includes his wife as his partner. I just fell in love all over again. *swoons*
On another note. Gluten and I have a love/hate, off again/on again relationship. I can't live with it and it seems like I can't live without it.
Thank you MelodyB, you reminded me I need to wash some clothes for tomorrow. Teaching children's church or not, blue jeans are not appropriate... but it's all I have clean right now.
:hi: Finally got home and was able to get on the computer. Been a busy day.
I crashed in the floor....got up after 2, had to do the fowl tending and such I hadn't done.... Had acid reflux type issues.... Getting ready to go back to sleep.
Went to see my in-laws yesterday. Getting ready to teach Sunday School this morning. See ya!
Urgh. Dear Lord, it is morning. I've made it to work. how, I don't know. I could sleep for the entire day if allowed. My neighbors recently put in an in ground pool. It's beautiful. So beautiful, they want to show it off. :o
About every three Saturdays, they have a pool party....colored lights, Hank Jr blaring across the neighborhood, the smell of bbq wafting through the air- every rednecks' dream. UNLESS- said redneck has to work on the next morning and he is not partaking of the party. And even if you are worldly enough to like Hank Jr's music- he used to be one of my favorite artists many moons ago- at midnight, he does not sound nearly as good...... :pound:
:sing: Hank why do you drank, why do you roll smokes, why must you live out the songs that you wrote?..... ♫♪
I want to go back to bed too.
I'm awake and quite refreshed. Even ready for church 20 minutes early.
The wedding went down with the appropriate amount of drama. Even down to my ex and his wife feeling the need to sit at the table with Brandon and I at the reception. Not that there were 6 other tables available. Sheesh. My favorite part was Brandon kept trying to keep the King family straight. Formerly Amish with 8 kids. We sat with Steven and Katie [who knew I'd be at this wedding at opposed to Taco and RJ's :biglaugh:]. Steven is RJ's stepbrother.
Off to church!
w2cch.
Grandma is on the way home from the hospital. My cousin said she slept well last night.
:hi:
Heavens to Betsy it's HOTTTT!!
We had a good time today...church was explosive! Went out to the catfish place, and now back home. I'm laying in my bed with my pjs on in front of my fan on high, and I'm still sweating. Ugh. And the AC is working, I'm just unusually BURNING UP!
Electricity and audio together can be dangerous.
They asked me to reconnect the speaker in the nursery. Fortunately we have a spare amp channel now. Unfortunately the speaker someone put in the nursery seems to have a short. Whenever anyone tries to adjust the volume knob it makes a sound like a minigun. Also unfortunately, the shorted circuit affects the amp that sends power to the speaker, which results in the pulpit monitors doing the same noise.
The speaker in the nursery is no longer in the nursery. I plan to shred it and use it for flak.
It is hot here as well. Tomorrow suppose to be 100. I'm burning up hot, too, story of my life. We have the air conditioning on as well. Glad that the a/c is really cool at church!! Yayyyyy!
Picked another bucket + of beans....3 more rows to go....be time to start over by the time I get through..... I'm glad they're producing though, cause I'd be upset and aggravated if they didn't.
Gonna go break some I guess.
Sometimes the simplest messages are such a blessing. Pastor preached on Praise... for the 2nd time this summer. I don't think he has preached on it for a few years before that. So simple, we know it, but don't do it near enough. I am so thankful for the liberty of the HG. And I'm so Godly proud that when people come to church with me, there are so many I love to introduce them to. It's truly a place of grace. Lots of people growing at different levels in their lives. Quality people take time to grow.
My friend that has been a principle in Honduras is moved back home. PTL! What does God have in store for her now? Her life is such an adventure.
Next on the agenda: World Missions Conference in a month.
Also, though we felt that Hannah was ready to handle public school, and that we like this school system, and that with financial goals it seemed best, and that the curriculum we could afford wasn't well rounded enough now that she's getting older, and that Andrew is doing well in ps, Nathan told me yesterday that he distinctly has felt like the Lord told him to homeschool her for 2 more yrs. Not even based on any lack on Hannah but perhaps something outside of what we are aware of right now. Can't get bent out of shape if ya stay flexible! So, I need to find a way to get more intense curriculum without paying more. Jesus will have to help me cause that is not all Nathan has set into motion. When a man is praying and fasting, things are sure to change!
I know you all will not mind me not talking about food as much!... lol but my time on here may become more limited soon. Don't forget about me! There are people on here I do not want to become disconnected from but this is the main place I interact with yas.

We were hard pressed to buy curriculum and came across Connections Academy, a virtual public school. My kids have been attending for three years. Although intense at times, my kids have benefited from the curriculum. The only items we've purchased are general school supplies. Everything else is supplied by the schools: text books, work books, manipulatives, etc. You could check out their FB page and see if the program is available in your state and if you'd be interested in it. It's not Bible-based, so I incorporate reading and devotions into our day. I only mention the program because I know how expensive curriculum can be.

Lordy. The dreams I can come up with. Ugh. Three bad dreams back to back. The last one, I was separated from my dad in a big group of people and they were driving us apart, and I was in like a tunnel thing, and I kept screaming "Daddy! Daddy!" and then he started yelling back, I could hear him and I was frantically searching, bumping into people, going up and down stairs and tunnels and passages, and when I would yell to him, he would answer...finally I realized that he was in the living room, yelling out to me to wake up. I was so groggy when I came to myself...felt like I was hungover or in a coma or drugged or something.
Lord. What a crazy night.
Speaking of drugs...I am now blissfully steroid free! Took the last dose and they are gone! I don't have to think about it anymore. Yay!
Dad and I are headed out to do errands in a few. That's why he was waking me up. Tootles!

Ruby. Don't say it. Don't think it. Not here. Please.

Seth, post a picture of your beans growing up those poles, please. I've never seen anyone use such big bean poles... around here lots of folks use cain.
I'm good. Met my crew at the church after I dropped dad off and had a good prayer. :)
/me hugs everyone. ;)
Don't be sharing my love with everyone else. :nono:

Here they are in the background of this one.... I've not picked any pole beans yet, they take longer to produce.

Wow, they look healthy for sure.
Hi. :waving:
Nothing much new going on.. Sunday school class is chuggin'. I like my job at Brown Electric. (They are electrical contractors.)
We are getting ready to spend our first night away from each other. Our pastor (Jeremy's uncle/boss) is having his ordination service on Wednesday and Jeremy is going up there for it. I have to stay home because of work. Trigger will be home to protect me tho.. so I'm going to enjoy my night! haha..
We took Trigger (our big black lab) for a walk last night. He was a good boy.. and he DOES love his momma (me). :) I stayed back for a few minutes talking to a stray cat.. and when I caught up with him and Jeremy, Trigger about jumped out of his skin telling me hello, haha. He still makes me nervous since he's such a large dog, but I know he is just crazy hyper, haha.
I know some of you know from Facebook, but we buried our children's pastor on Saturday in Jonesboro. It's been a very trying time for his family.. but we all know he is at peace now with no more pain. We had a lovely time of celebration. There were clowns, a big banner, bunches of balloons & flowers... and a REAL altar call! We had CHURCH at his home going. It was a wonderful tribute to a life well-lived. :) Just be praying for his wife, his girls, and their families. I can't imagine having been with someone for so long, and then suddenly they aren't there anymore. A new journey and new growth for her, but I'm sure it's painful. Thanks!
Pain I have suffered from wasp/hornet/bee/other insect stings:

Fear and apprehension I have suffered from the presence of a wasp in the room:

Now I know why some countries get nervous and start thinking about preemptive strikes when other countries get some new kind of military strike capability.
Lands. It is a tad warm here today. Around 106 degrees. It figures....I'll be spending several hours in a vehicle without air, and it chooses to burn me up... :noo: Oh well. Thems the breaks..
Someone gave us dugout seats for a Royals game. So here we are. Just watched a race between ketchup, mustard & relish. Pretty silly... Lol Hannah is upset w/ herself that she forgot her "Vynoculars."
Wheeeeeee!!
:bustamove:
John :waving:
Had a completely horrendous night. I feel half dead this am. Considering just not going to work at all but my paycheck wouldn't like that. Maybe I'll be able to take a half day. Please Lord let us be slow......
Yawn....
And it begins. I woke up a little later than I planned, but Rusty and I are off to Okie-land. May God have pity on anyone that crosses our path... :laughhard:
I get to drive Sam today, and ride in Rusty. Tis gonna be a good day.
:hi: I'm at work. Our internet at home decided to go out again yesterday for no reason. No storms and hardly any clouds. It's getting tiresome. *sigh
I'm home with my gimp hip. Watching Criminal Minds hanging out with my heating pad.
Bleh night light night....
Picked the last of the beans this morning, what little was left of the last row I didn't get last night....
But it's time to start over from the beginning again..... Eek.
It runs me ragged, but I'm glad they're bearing, if they weren't then I'd be upset. lol
I'm gonna have to go to work tomorrow....blah....
*isn't sure why Mel doesn't want a hug on GP*
Too much going on here. And I seem to be approaching another severe depression because of it all. Lovely. Oh well. I've hidden it before - I can hide it again. I should be an expert by now. Can't hide it from my poor hubby though.
Have several ToB orders I've simply GOT to get completed this week.
:beret:
No rush on mine, winter is still a long way away. ;)
In other news, I'm going to try a strawberry cheesecake by the simple expedient of throwing a jar of strawberry preserves in the mix. I'm not sure whether to cook it longer because of the preserves, or (because of the gelatin in said preserves) cook it shorter and wait for it to set up.
Yeah, yours... well, I don't even have the supplies for yours yet. Yours is going to require a lot more brain power than what I have available this week, so I'm attempting to get the smaller orders finished up and shipped out before I tackle yours. Maybe my MIA brain will show back up after conference next week. Here's hoping. :)

Heather, does this hip just periodically give you trouble? Or did you do something specifically this week that hurt it? Either way, I'm sorry you're hurting. :( *HUG*
*Hugs* Mel and Sandra
:beret:
/me leaves a HUG for Heather too :)
The hip is an off and on thing for a couple years. It's just becoming more often. Give me a day or 2 and it won't even hurt anymore. Mom teases me that I have a hitch in my giddy up. I just hope it feels better before church tonight and work tomorrow. It's hard getting up and down with dogs and cats if you get stuck in the floor. lol
Is there a certain ToB toboggan in that? Just curious
Thanks for the *HUGS*!!!!
If this batch in the canner now all seals, we'll be up to about 108 quarts of green beans. There's been a few non-sealers. Hate when that happens.
Do you just go ahead and use those that don't seal?
Won't the beans ruin then? If its not sealed?
Hence being used.
As in you go ahead and eat them now.
You can also reprocess them within 24 hours. We never have done that though, always just ate em... We were going to try it in an experiment with a can on this last batch if we didn't have a full load, but we had a full load. So we'll just eat them shortly.
Oh. I thought you meant you use them meaning you placed that can on the shelf too.
I dont understand canning. I freeze stuff.
Cold hearted.....
I made some Zuppa Toscana soup. Itsssss soooo good! I can't wait till dinner. :yum:

Speaking of freezing foods.... is there any reason I can't freeze apricots?
:beret:
I wouldn't know. I don't care for apricots. None of us do, so we don't have use for them...long term or otherwise.
When in doubt, Google it.
Freeze apricots the same as peaches. A few ways to do that but the goal is to remove the skin & then cut up to remove the seed.
Hmmm... okay. Thanks. :)
:beret:
Sometimes when I have extra peaches, I'll just go ahead and season and cook where they are ready to put in a pie shell and bake right from the freezer.
Yeah, I wondered about doing that, too. But I'm almost thinking that if I just freeze them as is, then I can make smoothies and things out of them later this summer. Still debating. :)

So my hip is still hurting. It's never went on this long. So I guess it's a visit to the doctor in the morning. I'm slightly concerned it could be early arthritis :-\ It's a family thing. Pray friends please!

:beret:
You could as long as you're wanting to wait for them to defrost to use them in the blender. Otherwise the seed is may be too difficult to remove in a frozen state. I say freeze one tonight and try it in the morning. But if you only cut the seed out and then froze them, that would still work. I don't deskin fresh peaches to use in smoothies.
Could use some prayers. Hurt my right ankle yesterday and it is swollen so large I can't get shoes on it and can barely take a step. If I stay off it and ice it most likely it will be fine by tomorrow. I have to be at work in under two hours though. Gonna try and go in and see what they tell me.

*laugh* I didn't mean WITH the seed still in, but I guess it did kind of sound that way. I just meant not adding sugar and whatnot.
I am TOTALLY with JennJenn about Krispy Kreme. I honestly have no idea why the huge rage about them. Seriously. Safeway donuts are better than those. :yell: And if you want GOOD donuts, then the little local shops have everybody else beat. Hands down. :P
Heather, sorry you're still hurting. Sounds very similar to my knee issues. It flares up now and then when I do something I shouldn't have *grin* and then calms down again. Hopefully yours will clear up quickly. From personal experience, if you DON'T baby it, you'll pay for it later. I've learned that I HAVE to take it easy for a few days when my knee acts up, or I really really regret it later. It usually isn't that big of a deal if I baby it when it first starts acting up. Hope yours won't be a big deal for you either. *Hugs*

My ankle looks terrible and really hurts. I need to be at work tomorrow please say a prayer for me.
Sadly jenn you are right. i am nearly that age... Btw, I am in tulsa for PEAk and I saw a girl today who would pass for your twin. either that or you have her picture for an avatar ..
Praying for you Taco.
The ice pack on my hip feels amazing! But when I take it off, not so good. I can go about an hour then need to ice it again or it gets painful. My doctors note is only for yesterday and today. Hopefully the Dr's tomorrow will understand if I need to sit down for a few to ice my hip.
Praying for all ya cripples too....
About to go back to the stadium for a hopefully awesome service. This morning was awesome. I'm guessing aroud 1500 to 2000 people there, awesome music and a good message- "The God of the Struggler"...
During the altar call/prayer time,I was standing at my seat worsipping, when I "felt" someone walk up beside me.I looked to see a young man standing beside me. Unshaven, smelling like smoke and dressed somewhat like a beggar.... I recognized him and had to hold back tears of joy as I hugged him.
He had grown up in my church and backslid, then came back a couple years ago and prayed through with his new wife. Lou and I reached out to them, did everything we knew to do to be their friends and help, and lost our hearts....Due to needing a job,the boy had left our area against my advice, telling me he had to. A new wife, a child on the way and no job....he was desperate. I'd cried, prayed and begged, but he left.
A short time later, I heard he had backslid, got divorced and was back into drugs. It broke my heart...
Seeing him standing in church service gave me hope. He hugged me,cried, said he knew where to find what he needed, then headed back to see some more friends he knew. I pray that he gets what he needs tonight....
I think my nephew from Cleburne might be up there.
Change that to read he IS up there, I went back and checked on FB and they took their youth group.
Its a great meeting. I am getting old though. The music is WAY too loud. You'd think that between Harleys and guns I'd have no hearing and could listen to anything. I can't .My ears are actually hurting tonight . Tomorrow night I'll take earplugs for sure ..
That's standard procedure for me at those things. I have good hearing, and I'm somewhat protective of it, but that means my ears hurt when my peers think it's just good and loud.
Cut a pair of earplugs in two, color the outer, cut-off ends with a black sharpie, and nobody will ever know you're wearing them.
I can't stand the music too loud and neither can Dina. It is actually painful.
I am both. There are times when the music needs to just be at a right low level....and then other times, I want it BLARING! lol
Speaking of loud music... :evil grin:
My pastor is a bit hard of hearing, but we don't have a spare amp channel in the sound booth to run a monitor for him. His monitor is on the same channel as the pulpit monitors, and to turn his up higher would mean blasting out the poor singers. So I stopped by a pawn shop yesterday and picked up a guitar amp to use as a powered stage monitor.
Thing is, I had to test it to make sure it would be loud enough... right? :D I waited until everyone else was gone to lunch, went and got the amp, connected it to a radio for a sound source, and let 'er rip. It hurt my ears THROUGH earplugs. That oughta be enough.
Then when I took the thing back to my vehicle I had to go through the break room. Everyone was asking what was that terrible noise? :P
Y'all have a break room at church? Why?
I'm thinking he's playing around with it at work.
Oh. That makes more sense. Lol
Some churches have snakes. His church has break rooms. :ugly:
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention last night AT WORK I bench-tested it.
I work on the furnace line so I don't get a break until everyone else comes back. Furnace line doesn't stop running. So there's a half hour where I'm at work all by my lonesome down there on the catch end of the furnace line. Perfect time to crank the music wide open and see how loud the speaker can get.
Heather, I need your mailing address. :)
:beret:
@roscoe...a lot of my family is up there. I think one of them might actually be helping with the sound. lol. tell him to turn it down! :)
Oh my goodness! I got some FUN mail today. Some heirloom tomato seeds and a present. Friends know exactly what I like: FOOD. And it's the truth! (http://gfxlovers.com/smilies/imgs/girly/girly025.gif)

Oh I made spagetti tonight but I added some preroasted red peppers to the sauce. It had some kick. Nathan liked it. (http://gfxlovers.com/smilies/imgs/girly/girly004.gif)

And it's official, I'm looking for a new church. I'm done feeling like the awkward fat kid in gym the day of dodgeball in elementary school. 2 seperate things happened this week that has absolutely grated my cheese and I'm done. Going to visit a church in Johnson City tomorrow or possibly go back to Gate City (I've been there a few times before).
Honestly if it weren't for GP I'd completely give up on church. You all are much more like family than any actually churches I've been too. I would like to say thank you all for that!!!
I shall pm you my address Ruby! I'm excited!!

:beret:
HeatherB the solution is simple - move down here. We have a great church. :D
Speaking of which, I'm making a rather large lemon cheesecake for church Homecoming tomorrow. Anyone who can, you are all welcome to come over. Lunch is at noon-ish... depending on when church gets out. You know us pentecostals, we don't have a time clock on the preacher.
I just gazed upon a picture of my hat!!! I'm so excited!!!!!!
I told Brandon he needs to get my car fully functional so I can just go stay at Mel's every weekend. Lol. I don't think he liked that idea. Lol
Yay! Glad you like it! :D
:beret:
:waving: Me and Rusty had a successful trip home. Wound up putting exactly 600 miles on him. Not a bit of trouble, excepting the fact that he doesn't have a/c and the area set records for heat this week.. :-\
Had a wonderful time- good church, got to see some friends from other states I rarely see, got to meet Ma Porter and Okieoliveoyl and her hubby, had the pleasure of lunch with Chellebelle and her galoot, who gave me the tour of the area and took lots of pics, got to see my old friend Sam..... Ahh, it was grand, me laddies. Ya shoulda been there..
I got up early this morning and left Tulsa while it was yet cool. I stayed to the back roads, and caused a three, three and a half hour trip to take nearly four and a half hours, but it was worth it. Got home while it was still coolish- 85-90- :laughhard: and found the part I'd ordered for chey's birthday present had came in so I fixed it.
Now I'm waiting on my world, in the form of Lou and Chey, to get home so's I can see Chey light up when she tools around in her new gokart. :biglaugh: Life IS truely grand, and I am the luckiest man alive. :thumbsup2:
HEATHER!
Get down here! Like now! ;)
I have had the best day with my Kimber...we priced yard sale stuff, went to the good will, talked to granny for like an hour, went to the dollar tree, argued over lunch, ended up at a Buffett that we totally gorged out on, drove around a people watched, in the rain, cleaned the church, layed in the floor, laughed, harassed Roscoe via text, watched Youtube videos, made memories, talked some more, hit Sonics happy hour, sat in the parking lot in the rain while having a dance party and talking about GP, and called Heather to coax her to move here.
Now she is gone and my youth are about to arrive to finish off my great day. :bigcheese:

Anyway. Now that I am sure he is ok, I'm going to bed.
When I got up this morning I put a big roast in the crock pot. Tonight I got home, cleaned the kitchen, and put potatoes, carrots, celery, onions, tomatoes and mushrooms in the big Dutch oven style pot and put the roast and juices on top. Tomorrow it will go into the oven at 7am on 350, and then at 8, I'll knock it down to about 300, and when mom leaves for church at 9, she will turn it OFF and leave it in the oven. When we get home, about 1, or 1:30, the veggies will be perfect, and the meat will have fallen apart and it will be still warm.
Then we eat. :fork:

I have to catch up in here, I haven't read everything. But not right now, later. :P
Bout time you showed back up. :smirk2:
I'm not having the best morning. I'm WAY tired, but I'm at church, and I'm dealing with something that I discovered last night that's bad, and I have to bring it to the attention of the proper people to handle it today, and I'm not looking forward to that. Then I get to church and get upset by a totally different situation.
Saw a tweet last night that said the devil is mad and will stop at nothing to try to ruin your life when you are doing right by God. I hope I'm doing right, but I sure dont need this mess. OY.
Lady JennJenn, happy belated birthday..21 now? :) Oh, and is the huge Hald Price Books place a two-level building off Northwest highway/expressay in Dallas? Therem was one there I used to go to, but haven't been to in over 20 years.
John :waving:
Due to a couple circumstances I didn't make it to any service today. I am going to sit down shortly and watch service from this morning. Got encouragement from the oddest place. Brandon. My backsliden freewill Baptist boyfriend. We had a couple hour discussion about the Bible and the different beliefs of Pentecostal vs Baptist. He wants to come visit church now!!!! I've never pushed it but told him whenever he wants to go hes more than welcome to tag along. I'm excited!!!!

9:30 am and 6pm..... The evangelist was late this morning cause he thought we started at 10. He was still getting ready when he heard service start down stairs. lol
Welp. I took care of the situation, and I'm home. Lunch has been eaten, and I refilled the hummingbird feeder, and put out a brand new bird feeder for dad to sit and watch from the window, and now I think I'll go lay before the Lord and have a rest.
Thank ya Lord for naps!
FYI: there are some other shorter jersey skirts that are normal below the knee length that are on clearance at Old Navy and some short sleeve shirts that go all the way to the elbow just coming out, so I got some. PTL I would love to buy the full length ones that are also on clearance but I tried them on again and it's still dragging the floor. Although, I didn't think of it but I could probably just add straps and it be a sundress. (http://gfxlovers.com/smilies/imgs/girly/girly025.gif)
Frozen yogurt sounds good.
Nap is over. It was fitful and dumb with the crazy dreams and all. I would have been better off to just stay awake.
Blah.
:hi: It's been hot here today
It's been aggravating here today. Battery died on the church bus. I thought it was because someone didn't shut the door all the way Wednesday night, but now evidence is pointing to a weak battery. Also the tension arm on the serpentine belt is putting too much tension, making an awful squeal whenever you turn on the air conditioner, and (according to Bro. David) putting a strain on the alternator. I know the battery problem is not connected to a strained alternator though, because the alternator will still put out a charge - as long as the hulk is running, it will stay running. Just a problem with getting it to run in the first place.
Just as well it happened today though. Homecoming today, no church tonight, Bro. David picked up the bus kids, and no rush to get the problem resolved right now. :)
It has rained and rained and rained here all week. Our yard looks like a jungle. The grass is really taken over and it's marshy from all the puddles and junk.
Hot too. With the rain the humidity is out of control. It's yucky.
Maybe this week will clear up.
Anybody want some lemon cheesecake? Stop by and you can have some, we have plenty. We had a LOT of desserts at the church homecoming today, so most of them were only about half gone. Some of them didn't even make it to the dessert table, for lack of room. They issued an apology and explanation from the pulpit to those who's desserts weren't even cut.
So yeah, I have about half a lemon cheesecake left over. Half of an 11-inch cheesecake. That's too much even for me.

OOoo, oooo!! Send it here! We have still been in the hundreds with NO rain for what seems like a long time. We are in the worst drought in more than 50 years here. Crops aren't making it and we've had water bans. Crazy.
I have ONE tomato growing! Now if I can just see that little bugger through. Perhaps I should sing to it and wrap it up during the night to protect against bugs.
There are ants all over my blueberry bush. I don't know what to do. :(
oy
I think flour gets rid of ants. Google it.
And I'd be glad to send y'all the tai. If I could. But I can't.
Hey SethiePoo! Hurry up and say something else.
The rain. RAIN. Don't know what a tai is or how I would send it.
Sorry..it's CORNMEAL. Not flour.
And since you are all natural and stuff, here's some more ideas. I'm sure you have most of these things around.

How about keeping-wasps-out-without-hunting-down-their-nests-and-spraying-them-with-poison? I'd be happy to live and let live, but they keep coming in here. I wish they'd stay outside where there's food, sunshine, water and all a happy little wasp needs, instead of coming in here where there's a lightbulb, a guy who doesn't like to be stung, a flyswatter and a can of bug spray. I don't LIKE killing them...
WD40 will kill them if you don't have wasp spray.

Thanks Mel! My google (any search engine) doesn't work. We've had 2 guys look at our computer, one being the one who BUILT it and both said the rootkit is too deep to fix. Computers are stupid. lol
Oooh, one of those that hijacks your search results? Hate those. :-\
Want a Windows reinstall disk? Totally ethical, legal and moral - you use the keycode that is on that Microsoft sticker on the side or bottom of your computer.

Seriously the wasps like all the other bugs are bad here too! Big ones, small ones, red ones, black ones! Agh!
I couldn't even enjoy the pool, cus there were literally about 10-12 of them. Agh!!
I wanna kill them! Make them all die! I hate wasps and have no clue as to why God had to make them. Lol
There are many things God created, that were changed when sin marred the world.
I could really use your prayers today. I am headed into work soon hurting and frustrated. My ankle is still hurting terribly and it's hard to walk. My job has me on my feet for eight hours. I can't afford a doctor visit. This injury occurred on the job and they have made no effort to even right up an accident report. Pray God gives me and my boss wisdom on how to handle this and that I don't hurt that foot more by going in today. I have got very little rest because of the pain in it. I need healing and strength!!
Sorry to be a downer this early in the morning.
Praying, Brother!

It's probably obvious but wow, I am very unintelligent. I got very overwhelmed last night looking over the math sample problems for the test I have to take as a step of going back to school. I was stumped on what was labeled "elementary" math. I want to know what cos/sin/tan has to do with everyday stinking life? And why I need to know these things reguardless of what degree I'm going toward? I think the college thing is totally corrupt... lol
Problem 1: When I'm overwhelmed, I cry. I cannot cry in the middle of a class.
I don't think I'm worried about failing God, I don't think he cares about college specifically. But I am feeling stressed that I will fail my husband. I HAVE to rise to the occasion of his direction that we're going. Blech, pass the tissue.

I really understand....I'm struggling with the same issue. I'm about to decide to pass on the whole thing. For me, the main reason I want a degree is vanity, just because no one in my immediate family has one, save my uncle. It won't make a whit of difference in my pay, and I'm too far down the career path to change now and lose my retirement.. :smirk2:
I think God cares about college. He cares about everything we do. I think if we're going to further our education, to enhance our knowledge, to pursue it to attain new career opportunities to support ourselves and our families I think God is pleased with the decision and honors it.
Isn't there a scripture about always pursuing knowledge and gaining wisdom and knowledge in things?
I think college is great for some folks but you don't HAVE to got to college. There are other options. So the main thing is to go after God's will in YOUR life which won't be the same as His will in someone else's life.
There's a verse about studying to show yourself approved, but that references a broader concept than college. The first question is the one Roscoe was obliquely posing: "Why am I going to college?" For some, God wants them in places to which college will open the doors. For others it would be a waste of money and time. And tylenol.
Exactly. It's not that God doesn't care about knowledge but that most certainly is not limited to a public academic venue. So I know that whether I was to go to college, a tech school, or an apprenticeship, it's not what specifically I choose. I do love to learn, but about things that matter, when it's coming out of an income made for a family of 4.2 (I figure financially, Ollie our dog, counts for something... hehehehe).
A number of variables make this more stressful for me and I actually do not know why I would go to college or what for other than to be able to get a better job than at Wal-Mart. And if I had the opportunity to work somewhere I would like it to be in the office/administration with bilingual opportunity- type of job. The word is that employers want to see degrees, not specific classes. Which I don't really understand.
So. It appears as though I need to aim for an associates in something administrative. Which is mostly generic classes, not actually much toward the subject. However, the prerequisites for any degree are generally alike. That is retarded to me and simply a way to take advantage of people by making them take unrelated classes for a degree in their field. This would probably be all well and fine if I were rich and intelligent. In which case I would not be going back to school.
There is kind of a "What else is there to do with my life" nagging voice... longterm. Yes, I know homeschooling my child, having a pt job cleaning the church, keeping the home for my family, being a helpmeet in my husband's ministry, being a part of the praise team at church, is doing something. It doesn't seem to be enough, though it can potentially take up all my time.
I don't think I have the right words. I want to do something greater for God. And it has to be something that still allows me to not neglect my other roles and responsibilities. My husband has set a direction and I am excited about that!! In so many ways. That includes though me going back to school. I'm sure years from now should the Lord tarry, it'll be obvious that God was working something for His glory while I was crying and stressing over triggonometry. lol
Insert generic rant about working at my job on a Monday!!!!!!
Ok now that that is out of the way.
I had quite a few people from church txt and call me yesterday. It appears a few people actually care whether I'm there or not. Most importantly the Pastor and his wife. So I'm strapping up my bootstraps, removing my heart from my sleeve and sucking it up. If God is for me, who can be against me!!! (Including His 'saints')!!
Good!
*HUGS* Heather.
Guess what!? I have a great announcement!
Our toilet flushes! Whoot!!
Dad got someone to work on it today and I have just been amazed at how it flushes really well. I am so happy.
Now I can go to bed. :flush:
*HUGS* Mel. Glad your toiley flushes!!
We apparently had home repairs around here today too. Mom was complaining saying I'd made the power bill go up the whole 8 days I was here on her last billing cycle by $100. I barely use my lights in my bedroom or even my tv for that matter. And I know way beyond better to ever touch her thermostat. Lo and behold, her hot water heater had strung a leak. So safe to say I got a much needed apology from her.

WOOT! People can't really appreciate the sentiment behind that statement unless they have experienced plumbing problems before. As one who has, I say again, WOOT!
I'm glad the toilet is fixed cause I've been sick all night.
So tired. Dropped dad off at dialysis, and headed home. Got to take mom to Dr in awhile, then pick dad up, then take him to the hospital for a surgery on his port in his arm. Lord. Gonna be a long day.
:hi: I saw about 4 hot air balloons on my way to work. Hope to see more tomorrow.
I'm so excited about my package from Ruby!!!!!! Woo-hoo!!!
I've been at work 2 hours and I already want to slap my co-employees. Grrrr.
I will be picking up some kennel hours on the weekends. That'll be good. Extra money and Dr Allen said I can work around church. Like on Sunday's the early shift is normally 8-11 but I can come in as early as I want to be able to make it to church. I come to see/care for my dog anyway. Might as well get paid for it.
Well. I'm waiting on dad to get out of dialysis. And I have observed in the past months that there is a large amount of young black males that go in and out of here for treatment. More of them than any other age group of any other race. I find that fascinating and may need to research that later when I have time. Is it just coincidental to this area? Or are their kidneys more fragile than others? Something to ponder.
And my gripe for today...on top of myself being sick, mom is too "sick" to come with me and get dad and go to the hospital today. She didnt go to her dr and have her bloodwork done either. The last time he had surgery, she didn't go and it hurt him. BADLY. And here she is again, laying in the bed and leaving ME to be the wife and take care of him. I was completely ALONE last time, and it looks that way again.
SMH. She is impossible and it makes me have bad feelings towards her.
Just being honest.
*hugs* my Melbs!
You are doing great Mel. I'm amazed at the way you take care of your Dad! And you do it selflessly!
You are awesome!!!!!
*leaves HUGS* especially for Mel. I'm sorry you have to deal with that aspect of already caring for your Dad. You are one strong lady.

I have wondered as of late about the prayers we all pray, presumeably about God helping us to make it to heaven, to be what He wants us to be, to bear His fruit. And then we all have very diverse situations but they all require many of the same principles we need to be ready for the rapture, if we learn them. So much so that I have wondered if any situation is any more significant than than the maturing, self sacrifice, and forgiveness it demands of us to overcome it. And I wonder if it would lessen the stress of it if we/I looked at it that way?
I don't know, I don't have a conclusion but I'm praying about it because my world is changing and it's stressing me out... lol I know this world is not our home. I know this life is one giant choice to where we'll spend eternity. Which brings up one more question I have. I know that we shall be known as we are known. I know we'll be judged of our works and whether God acknowledges that He knows us intimately. (Depart from me, I never knew you/ Well done thy good and faithful servant) I know that there is no remission of sin/repentance after we are dead. So I wonder, aside from the FINALLY being able to see Him face to face, aside from having understanding of things and spending eternity with our dear Jesus, will we grow closer to Him? Will our intimacy increase other then being in His presence? I get the impression that how we die, is how we are for eternity. Our sins are already forgiven NOW. We are able to walk in the Spirit now, though it's far more challenging. What will be different between us and Jesus other than the realized salvation we already have and no more sin to contend with?
That begs the question of that aside from being WITH Christ in heaven, is how intimate I become with Him here on earth also how intimate we'll be for eternity? We know the least shall be greatest and the greatest on earth, the least. That tells us we will not all be on the same level or honor with Him. If that is the case then I can't put off deepening my walk with God because of trials that have to be gotten through till I get to heaven. But I must endure each trial as actual growth, seeking for a Word in it all, so that it's actually worth something besides, "I survived."
I guess this is turning into a Bible study... lol But my goal can't just be to get through this life and finally get to Jesus. There has to be more or the trials here on earth seem futile. But if they increase me, if they draw me closer to Him, then they are a blessing. I'm leaving it open ended cause I'm not sure if I exactly percieve it right though I know my desire is right.
I guess I'm searching for purpose in my challenges so that their not in vain... lol

Thanks everyone for the nice comments earlier. We survived the day and we just got home! Surgery went well, and I'm fitting to clean the kitchen.

Had a pretty small crowd show up at church tonight to hear from Bro and Sis Morar. They are missionaries in India whom we've supported for 10+ years. They'll be back tomorrow night as well. I love just listening to them speak. I love accents.
One of the girls from church caught me after service and informed me I'm her new best friend. She said she realized some of the ways some of the younger people act especially toward me and she doesn't like it. It's just nice to know I'm not alone.
Also my mom actually was talking to me about church before I left. Asking actual questions and such. I was kinda in shock and amazement.
Please pray tomorrow at work is better than the past 2 days. My 'dealing with stupid coemployees' meter is about to pass the breaking point.
I am so tired, and should go to sleep.
I should be in bed, too.

Nothing like ice cold Gatorade at 3am to quench your thirst. :yum:
Fell two times this morning because of my ankle. Finally gave in and went to the ER. I damaged all the ligaments in the foot and when I did that the ligaments pulled so tight at my ankle they broke a small piece of the ankle bone off. As the doctor said, "no matter how small a broke bone still hurts". Looks like i will be off work at least the next three days and in a gel cast for about 2 or 3 weeks. Pray work has insurance to cover this and I don't lose my job. Frustrated!!
Sorry about that, Jason. I sure can relate with falling. :smirk2: :headrub:
Well. I was able to sleep till 8:30. That was a miricle! Now dad has to go back to dialysis today cause the machines were messed up yesterday, so here we go again.
:hi: Saw a few balloons in the distance this morning.
Had a pilot come in and we were talking about the loss of equilibrium after doing aerobatics in planes. He pipes up and says "It will sho nuff mess up yo cornbread." I nearly lost it.
I need a massage, some Xanax, and a fifth of whiskey.
Nah, you need a wife. ;)
5,147
Is that how much your latest paycheck was? Lol
That would be nice if it was. ;)
Got dad to the barber and got a haircut. Then dropped him at dialysis. I have the rugs in the washer from the bathroom, fixing to do a load of towels, and after that, strip my bed and wash those sheets too. The dishwasher is running, kitchen is clean and supper is simmering. Gonna have that pot roast I made Sunday, I have it simmering and cooking down now, gonna thicken it up with some gravy and serve it over mashed taters with some sweet peas. Yummy. There were only a view of the veggies left, and I'm eating them now while I wait on the washing. :D
Fridge is cleaned out too. I got to pick up dad at 2:30, pick up Amanda at 3, and then come home.
Even though I didn't really want to do anything today AT ALL...it's turned out to be a good day so far.

Don't I wish! That's how many songs in my collection right now. It doesn't sound very impressive in these days of downloading whole libraries of music online, but it's all from CDs, cassettes and old records.
And that doesn't count all the christmas, comedy and classical tracks.
I'm actually a bit ticked. I plowed through all the new music I picked up on amazon.com and passed the 5,000 mark without even noticing it. I was going to celebrate or something.
Kimber made the most decadent chocolate chip cookies I have ever tasted!!! I got to about half of the first one and almost could not finish it! It was SO RICH!
I have two more. And I'm NOT sharing. But I can't eat them tonight. Too much. Lol
Bedtime!
/me sneaks one of the cookies while Mel is sleeping :hypocrite:
You totally could have got them too...I was so far gone asleep I would not have heard you!

Too much to do today. Have a great one!
:hi: I'm at work. That's about it.
Please say a prayer for me. Got a very unpleasant stressful phone call a few minutes ago. I can't handle much more this week and neither can my blood pressure. Seems as if everything is falling apart at once. My head feels like it is going to literally explode probably from the blood pressure.
Well I'm up a stump. My minivan started overheating last night, grandma's car is in the shop, my bike tires are flat and I can't get air in them without getting to town. Guess I'll have to do it the hard way and walk. Gonna get a start on it now before it gets hotter outside.
Thank you Lord I CAN walk.
Did you check the water in your radiator? I know that's a given usually, but just in case...
Yeah, it has plenty of antifreeze/water. All the guys at work are saying it's a stuck thermostat. I'm at the library right now... I got to the post office and found I left someone's address at home.
Hooray for the omnipresence of internet-based information!

Of course! I was very up front with her about my large to extra large noggin :)
:hi: I have had a somewhat productive day. I worked, then came home and enjoyed the company of one of the young men in my youth group as we put the waterpump back on my Corvette. He brought a young lady who attends the local Assembly of God church to my house, and we all had quite the good time. This young lady has been to our church several times in the past few weeks, and I really like her. I'm praying that we can lead her to the full truth. Just being around her has made a huge difference for the better in the life of the young man. She seems to enjoy being around us, too.
Went to church, came home. Got a canning of beans going. Need to go finish the fowl for the evening.
Tomorrow will be filled with canning beans all day. Picking beans. Tending fowl.
Good lands I need the Amish.....
I have found pistachios, and have seen that they are indeed good. :fork:
I ate them for the first time yesterday, and bout another two packages today, of which I have alread eaten one. Yummmmmy. They are the small $1 bags, 1.5oz but they are SOOO good!
I have had a headache all day. Tomorrow we gotta go to let a guy at our church fix the fuel pump in the truck. Blah. I wanted to stay home. Dad doesn't believe in staying home apparently. :smirk2:

Ugh. The typos in that post are horrible. Stupid phone.
HeatherB - Show pics!
MelodyB - Pistachios rock. When I was a lad in school Grandma bought me a three pound bag. I sat at lunch break and made a meal out of pistachios... and got half moon bruises under both thumbnails from cracking all those shells.
In other news - After walking 1.2 miles, biking about 6 miles and working a full night at the factory on my feet, I thought my feet would hurt. But they don't. :) Once you get used to walking naturally, apparently you can go a lot longer than with "normal" shoes.

I just talked to Mesi on the phone, quite by accident. Lol
How do you talk to someone by accident?
Well see, I was meaning to text her about our upcoming possible meet-up on Sunday, so I went to FB and looked up her number. Usually when you tap a number on my phone, it brings up a list of options, like text, call, save number, whatever...well I tapped it and it called the number. Then it wouldn't get back to the call screen so I could hang up before it rang. It rang twice, and I hung up when I could, and was in the middle of writing a text to her explaining it was me and what I wanted, and she called back, so I answered.
It was an accident, but turned out to be fine. Lol She sounds like Rissa a bit.
I usually text someone for awhile before I call them. The first phone conversation at least.
I still have to catch up on this thread.
Picked the rest of the horticulture beans this morning. Been canning. Tended fowl as well.
Continuing to can.
I think I'll make salmon pattys for dinner.
I'm here, albiet in a bit of a foul mood. The Corvette's is back togethe, thought the problem was solved- nope it still has a leak. Then, I have told Lou repeatedly that this year for Chey's birthday, which is today, I wanted to simply have cake and ice cream and have Chey's cousins and grandma over. Nothing big. Usually, we have a big cook out or a birthday party at the church and I wind up spending $100-$200.
I explained to Lou we went all out for chey's present, and had private school tuition coming up and I didn't want to spend what we had put back frivilously.
I come in from mowing the yard and discover every hot dog we have being cooked, along with half the family groceries I bought yesterday. In addition to the family, she's invited half the church. I am not in a very Godly mood. I'll have to spend the next week lining out the budget. And she doesn't see any problem. "We only have one child."
Yeah, and I'm not gonna be able to clothe and feed her if you keep this up.
Sorry for the rant, this is my vent place...

I saw Minnie at Oklahoma camp meeting last night, but didn't see my wife anywhere.. :sadbounce:
Odd week...wheeee.
John :waving:
Yep, you did.
Im sure with that crowd of people, it was easy to overlook your wife.
In other news, I got a text from my pastor Tuesday or Wednesday asking if I could get a game together for the kids service today. That in of itself is no problem, seeing we have a dozens on standby for youth, and many more we have did in youth group. But seeing this was campmeeting, I wanted it to be the right one. Talking with Chelleebelle, she mentioned two quickly, and after a little more thinking, we decided on one. I felt in my spirit it was right.
We woke up early this morning, prayed for the kids service, and I prayed that I would be in Gods will for the game.
I walked into the Sunday School service, and they were doing today's service about the Olympics, and running the race. And our game was a fun "race" between the boy and girls. As soon as I walked in, I felt a conformation. And it went awesome. (And the boys won, 59 to 53!)
It rained! Yay. And didn't blow my corn completely away, so that's good.
If I come back through Illinois, Indiana and Ohio during the next three weeks, will I get tio see a billion ears of corn again?
SOOO...what should I make for the church potluck on Sunday? I need an idea.
Roscoe, I feel your pain, on more than one point.
I have the answer.
Family Fast.
I'm serious. We have often fasted for more than one day so that we can afford to feed others in fellowship. Both before a at times after bc it was spur of the moment.
I learned, bc my hubby "reasoned" with me, that I cannot get caught up in the social side of things irresponsibly. I cannot think I of abetter way of driving that home than with fasting. Especially as a family. There was spiritual direction of course, because finances, marriage & fellowship... & how to handle them... Are very spiritual.

Probably a good answer. Truthfully, I am more of a worrier than my wife and am fairly tightfisted. We weren't put in irrepairable financial harm, I just get ticked when things aren't done my way. :laughhard: I probably wouldn't have posted that had I not sat down fuming......
It went well. I actually enjoyed an hour or so of fellowship with a minister whose wife Lou is close with. Lou and the wife have known each other for years, but I've only met the minister in passing... they are in visiting family in our area, and for the first time, he was able to come over. He seems like a much more spiritual person than I- I'm trying :P- but a good man, and it did me good to have the time with him, to say nothing about seeing my dear pastor and mother of the church. Had Lou listened to me, I'd have missed that. So it was for the better. I'll go ahead and say it. I was wrong.
:o
Wow.

No...maybe a few hundred million.....draught has taken it's toll on crops. :(
I feel old. I feel fat and aging and tired and achy and balding and grey and old. I'm not sick, I'm not sore from a workout, nobody has been making jokes about me getting old, and I'll probably be over my bad mood by morning, but for now I just feel old.
Why does it annoy me so much to wake up naturally at 3:57 when my alarm is set to go off at 4? It's just three minutes. Why do I get so aggravated at myself for waking up just three minutes early?
I really really have a problem with it. It makes me upset! Why? It's not like I can do anything about it.
I wake up, lay there and think "I won't look, I won't look" but curiosity gets the better of me and I look anyway, and for the past three days that I've had to get up at 4, all three times it's been 3:57. And I get mad. I really do. Why? What difference does it make?
I dont know what is wrong with me.
*crickets chirp*
So I asked Nathan if he could take his hotness down a notch so we're not all sweating to death & he said he couldn't.
Sorry guys, I tried.
*Giggle* I think I need coffee. I feel tired silly.
Morning all. It is warm here also. Lands sake, what to do today? Lou's off, I'm off, nothing major scheduled. Maybe time for a flea market crawl....
oh Lord my family is all home all weekend [minus my sister. if she were here too i'd go camp in the back of my car somewhere]. i hope i survive.
Headed to church. Meeting and youth this afternoon.

*Hugs*
What is it with your family and knees?

Isn't there a scripture about always pursuing knowledge and gaining wisdom and knowledge in things?
Which one would you like?
The one about ever learning and never coming to a knowledge of the truth.....
Or the one about professing themselves to be wise they became fools.....
Or another one? :P
And, yes, I'm currently just catching up on what I've missed of this thread.
Done. Now I once again know everything I need to know about all of y'all's hapless drivel.
:P
Picked tomatoes this morning...I need a tiny trained monkey to crawl around in the tomato vines and pick them.....bleh. I hate picking tomatoes cause the vines are nasty and itchy and crud.
I'm tarred.
Had a cup of coffee. My previous post must've not been as funny as I thought it was this morning... lol I was amused at my own wittyness... lol
Made pancakes. Fluffiest ones I've ever made. They had the same measurement of buttermilk to flour. I'll have to remember that as I use whole wheat flour for nearly everything except specialty stuff. And FINALLY, I got the opportunity to buy and try pure maple syrup: GRADE B which for honey and maple syrup is the highest quality because it's the least processed= more nutrition. It was so stinking rich I could hardly use much, and it's thin so it's going to go far. Thank you Jesus... lol
Ladies/girls Tea today where Sis.Gleason is going to be teaching on Etiquette. Not the "no elbows on the table" type but ... well, I don't know how to word it which means I probably don't have it! LOL
World Missions Conference is in a few weeks here and Bro.Robinette from Austria is preaching. The theme is "GO BEYOND" & we are going with European style, which to my knowledge we've never done before.
You're so loyal to GP, Sethers!
Have you had much luck selling all that stuff? I would think that if you don't now, you may later as it's been said that food prices are rising due to the drought/heat.
Bought 3-set sheet pans, a package of 5 serving ware, a package of like 8 wooden serving ware, a small metal strainer, a cutlery organizer for the drawer, a set of 8 kitchen washcloths and a serves 8 glassware set (8 tall/8short) for my apartment!
Oh and this crazy yellow glass bowl for decoration on the clearance rack!
And I only spent $50 for all!! Woohoo!
My room is gonna be a mess by December.
Cooking class date with JV for my birthday tonight. Then we're going shopping for vinyl at this huge Half Price Books in Dallas!

I've just sold a few random things. Most of it so far we've canned. I have somebody wanting green beans, I've got to get picking again.

I had a pretty good day today. Got some serious Livi love, she was so sweet to me today...lately she hasn't been, so I cherished every moment that she was being nice. ;)
Then we had a good youth service. But sometime today the crook of my left elbow and inside of my upper arm developed a raised rash and itches. It's hot to the touch and feels like a big knot under the skin. Ugh. It's all red and burns even as I type. If I scratch it anymore I'm afraid it will bleed. :smirk2: So I got home, took some benedryl and rubbed some hydrocortisone cream on it. Hopefully that will help. I'm not sure what it is, and I cannot afford another sickness.
Another thing, I put a roast in the crock pot to take to the potluck tomorrow, and I had it on low all day and instructed my parents to please turn it off at around 3. That way it would be cooled by the time I came in tonight and I'd fix it up with the veggies ready for tomorrow...well I came in and it was on HIGH! Still bubbling and been on since 6am! I asked dad if he was the one that turned it off, and he said yes, then mom said she did...so the story is, mom turned the switch all the way to the left which is OFF, at about 3...dad came behind her, and turned it all the way to the right, which he thought was off, and it was really HIGH. Ugh. So I hope it's not TOO done and ruins the meal I was taking. It cooked for 17 hours.
I feel sick. I am known for my awesome meals and now they might have messed this one up. Lord.
Anyway. That was my day.
Oh, and Mesi was in my town today and I missed seeing her. I had obligations at church and couldn't get away when she was here. But that's ok. Next time maybe.
Well, we've had folks in and out this weekend. My hubby's brother and wife came Friday evening then today my FIL and his wife came. Hope that's all for now ;)
Bought 4 records.
Mahalia Jackson
Aretha Franklin
Bach
La Bohemme (opera)
I'm tarred and grumpy.
Roscoe, you just went way up on my respect list. Just sayin'.... :)
Sethers - no idea. But apparently our knees hate us. Or something.
Heather - I am (impatiently) waiting for pics. :bigcheese:
Had a FABULOUS time at family conference. Services were terrific, and the fellowship was wonderful, and... my tired brain is running out of adjectives. :)
:beret:
MelodyB - things happen, it's not your fault and you won't starve. Don't waste getting upset, and the resultant high blood pressure, on something that is not worth high blood pressure. ;)
In the meantime, I have been a lazy slob all day today. Got up a whole 4 minutes before noon and proceeded to read books and generally goof off the whole day. We had to work the last two Saturdays, so I'm enjoying this one. :)
I'm not upset about it. I was frustrated at first, only cause it proves my point. Lately Ive felt like I cant go anywhere, even for a few hours cause when I do, I come home and the place is a wreck, and stuff is just generally wrong. Makes me feel trapped sometimes. I think it will be ok. I didn't intend for it to cook that long, but hopefully it will do alright.
Morning all. :waving: Back at work. Wrestling with a decision. Slowly going nuts because of it...... Life is good.
Oooh, going nuts... what kind, pecans? I like pecans. Go pecans if you have a choice. :D
Well. Upon further investigation when I was preparing to got into the shower, my rash has spread. Now my right arm is covered in it, and it's under both armpits and creeping down my sides. :smirk2:
I'll be glad when this thread is closed...it's making me itch!
Seriously though, I think I need to go to the ER. It's spreading rapidly.
Sorry to hear that.
I remember one time when I was a kid I had an allergic reaction to an off-brand of bubble bath. Welts the size of saucers. I would have actually been fascinated if they hadn't itched so much.

I promise I'll get a pic today
Mel-sounds almost like your breaking out in hives or something
I talked to a few people at church and they seem to think its leftover stuff in my body from the sun poisoning I had a couple a weeks ago. If it gets worse or spreads more, I'll go back to the hospital, but for now it seems to have stopped. The itching hasn't stopped, but at least I havent found any new places of rash outbreak.
Church was great today! Another baptized! And the altars were full of first time visitors! God is good!
My roast and veggies turned out ok. It fell all apart, but the veggies were awesome, and had a good flavor. The desserts we had! Wow! Kimbers mom made some ooey gooey cake and it was to die for! Man! I brought the rest of it home with me! Lol
Currently I am laying on my bed, with my fan pointed on me going full blast, and I'm STILL HOT!
Oh! And good news! They are delivering all the wood on tuesday, and Saturday the men from the church are building dad a RAMP!! *happydance* :hyper:

Seth, what kind of beans don't climb? What doesn't need poles or a trellis?
Well, any kind of bush beans..... There's some varieties that are available in a bush type or a pole type...
Which kind of beans - green beans or hull outs of some sort?
We always like Blue Lake green beans. They are not stringy, and they don't develop the actual beans in them very quick. Some people prefer green beans that do get "beany" faster though. Blue Lakes are one that come in bush and pole type.....I've got both.
There's various other varieties too.
Good Lord, it is morning. Back at work. I was wore slap out last night, and laid down for just a "little" nap at 5pm. Woke up at 10pm, ate a sandwich and went back to bed. Got up this morning feeling like 5am was WAY too early.
Well. It's Monday again.
My rash has lightened up in color and is not itching near like it was. I think it's going away! Yay!
Today, we gotta go find some boxes and clear out the carport of all the stuff, so the ramp can be built. Also making a grocery run.
:hi:
:hi: I'm at work.
We've had 2 wasps in our house recently. I'm not sure where they're coming from yet. But this morning it was a black wasp that scared me. Andrew trapped it under a CD lid and I got the WD40 per Sandra's tip to Jenn! It has to be sprayed directly on them in a good amount or they get maaaaddd... LOL
But eventually it appeared as though he had a seizure and kick the bucket. Thank the Lord.
I cleaned out all the boxes and junk we had under the carport, and took the junk to the burn pile and set it afire. :freaky2:

Well Mom & Dad figured out that on the side of the house the wasps have built nest(s) and are going into the side of the house in a crack. There is a large swarm of them. Over 15 or so....wasps not nests lol....so we've figured out why there is such an influx of them...now to make them all DIE!!!!!!!! lol

Oh, and for those that care...my rash is healing up really well. It doesn't itch at all now, and all that's left is the original place on my arm where it started. Swelling is gone, just a bit of redness remains.
It must have been some sort of allergy, and it seems I knocked it out with some benedryl. :)
