Our workplace has it's own email and we are required to use Outlook to get to it.
And yes, at one time it did block yahoo.
We switched our email server to use Gmail. Everyone can stilll use outlook, but we can access it using gmail. Which is niiiiice.
I was up at 5:30 making breakfast and packing a lunch for Nathan like normal but I had to drive him all the way to work today. 45 min one way, 3 different interstates, pouring rain. I was a bit nervous as it was pouring so heavy I could barely see the cars ahead, let alone the lane lines. Got back, finished readying myself and kids for the day, got White Chili in the crock pot for dinner and went to clean the church.
Church is cleaned and dinner is doing well and laundry is going.

So now I'm going to sit on my rear for a minute before I start getting the church attire ready for the family. We are having multiple services this week so there is church tonight and I have to be there early to praise sing. OH and I was going to also have to take a friend to the station to go to Chicago but I think the Lord told me to have a specific person do it who showed up at the church. So that is set. God's good!
I had a very productive morning. Now I am...not...
Well, I was suppose to be off tomorrow because I have to be in Verona VA to meet with the district board at 9:30. Well, instead I have to go in and work a truck at five then rush home and get a shower and hit the road. Pray I make my appointment and we have good traveling weather and roadways.
I haven't been productive today.

And for what it is worth, I had a boring, relaxing, day. Dropped papers off for Mama, got the lawn mower blade I needed, and went by the local college to see what I am gonna need to do to enroll and get a degree.... I can't believe that I am remotely considering college after being out of school nearly twenty years. I'll be lucky to not need remedial abc's... :laughhard:
I should be able to bluff my way through Creative Writing.... I'll just steal a couple of Mini's "The Good Guys Always Win" stories. :P
After the nightmare of feeling as out of place at the college as a roast pig at a Bar Mitzvah, Chey and I went fishing. Again. The kid is about to drive me nuts with the fishing...
And for what it's worth- if you see me this week, my yard looks like a complete jungle. Deal with it and forgive me. The mower has been broke and now that I got a part in, it came a storm. The rest of the week is the car show. The yard will NOT get mowed. :P

Rain was headed this way, but the part that was headed for us fizzled out before it got here. We could've used a good rain. So I've been watering the garden for the last 3 to 4 hours. :smirk2:
We had a good rain, wind that tore whole tree limbs down and the power went out for more than an hour at work. By the time it came back on the furnace was cooled down, the furnace atmosphere was shot and it would never get back to normal in time to run parts, so I went and helped in another part of the factory.
And when I got home I found the hot water heater has decided to die on me. Great.
I wish I wasn't such a nervous wreck. I cannot relax and I have physical anxiety issues or something....urgh.
Getting ready to go unload a truck then rush back shower and hit the road. Pray for me today!!

We were/are supposed to get some rain but haven't seen any yet. We need it.
We woke up to a flood here on Sunday. Our shed had an inch of water in it. It rained and rained and was supposed to rain all week. They have not built the ramp for dad yet cause of the rain and standing water in our yard. He is supposed to come home today. Dads "accessories" (wheelchair, walker, potty chair, and bath chair) were delivered yesterday...our house looks like a nursing home for real now. But I'm not sure how we are going to get him INTO the house with the standing water and no ramp still. Even though the water has gone down some.

That's no fun Mel! I'm suprised you don't have some sort of drainage system. Or is that not something people have down south? I hope that's not an ignorant question. But then again I was tickled pink when some southern friends that visited were facinated by basements. I've never lived anywhere that didn't have a basement.
It's a lovely day. My feet are actually cold but rather than put on footies, I'm going to go clean the church again for tonight's service. 7 baptised and 5 got the HG so far! One little boy, it was so precious, he came up out of that water genuinely thankful and worshipping. Later when he gave me a hug I asked him if he already had that HG and he said he did. It was all over him!
Some have drainage systems, some don't, depending on the terrain. Where we live is on a really big hill, we never have major trouble with flooding. Basements are also depending on area - but usually we don't. We do have some storm cellars though, in case of tornadoes. Nobody ever goes down there when there's a tornado watch though, so I don't know why people keep planting them in their yards.

A drainage system would be how your land is well, landscaped. We have steep ditches sometimes at the end of yards or between the sidewalks and roads. They scape it so that the water collects and runs naturally somewhere. Usually a resevoir, ravine, into a stream or river or to farmland irrigation systems.
My husband had never heard of a root cellar until the other day. He asked me if I'd heard of them, and I said yes. He wanted to know where I'd heard of them and it was mostly from books, I suppose, because I don't think I've ever been in one.
Really? They are all over up in Iowa. Used for Tornado shelters (like on wizard of Oz) and for storing produce. The ground is a constant 58° at a certain depth, all year round, so you can keep things like potatoes and onions... ect, root vegetables down there without them going bad. Usually there are some shelves built inside for things canned at fall too. They used to be literally like a dirt cave but now they're usually actually built. The doors lay at most a 45° angle. You pull it open and there are stairs, not too many, down to the cellar.

We have one, it needs repaired though....the "room" itself is okay, but the retaining walls in front are falling in. You just walk straight into it into the hillside the way ours is.
Some of the old people where my dad used to farm on, their cellar had a shed on top of it, and you went down the stairs from in the shed to the cellar below it.

The swap meet is starting to fill up.....
I got the lawnmower fixed and mowed the yard- or rather, blew all my topsoil across what was my yard....it is WAY dry here.....the "good rain" we got last night wasn't enough to even wet the earth, it is so thirsty.
And drainage systems here are in town, but out here in the country, they don't exist. And I've never lived in a house with a basment OR a root cellar. They are rare these parts. A storm cellar, however, is easily found, although we don't have one.
And my last bit of sharing this post- I feel like I've been runned over. Walked all over the mountain then the physical labor of the yard work has truley kickethed my butt. :laughhard:

She ran off in the creek/ditch the last time...and then fell in it after she got the car out. :freaky: But she won't come up the driveway. An Asian guy just came and got some birds, and he called from the end of the driveway asking where to park, I said you can come up the driveway....he said he'd just park down there.
Strange phenomenon.
Why? That's weird. Maybe it's rude to drive on other peoples driveways in their culture.
I have no idea. Maybe they're frightened that if they get in they can't get out.
Everything is filling me with excessive anxiety the last several days. I plan to work Thursday and Friday this week and the thought of it seems horribly daunting. I feel like I can't breathe right all the time, when I think about it ("it" being how I feel in general), but if I quit thinking about it for a minute I'm fine....but I can't hardly keep from thinking about it. It's maddening.

Andrew is out mowing the yard and I'm going to do some baking today. My poor family has just been having the same 1 egg, 1 toast, handful worth of fruit or juice every morning. When I make bacon or sausage the kids get some the first day and then the rest is for Nathan throughout the week. So I need to mix things up and make some muffins and smoothies. Possibly some small pancakes that can be popped in the toaster to reheat also.

Service was pretty great last night. I wore my hair down just so I wouldn't have to lose pins. It was the 4th service, the only one I didn't have to praise sing for and I wasn't going to waste it! LOL The youth did the worship service. Michael Easter had us all literally LOL. My pastor was cracking UP! I loved it. I'm so blessed that we get to hear awesome preaching every week. There's not a once where my pastor doesn't bring it. And he preaches with depth. But I thoroughly enjoyed the classic stuff M.Easter preached! I never get tired of the fundamental truths. The blood never loses it's power.
One of the neat things he said was that trangressions are sins outside the body and iniquities are sins inside our body. That scripture: He was wounded for our transgressions, bruised for our iniquities.. shows how the wounds: draws blood outside the body, and bruises: draws blood inside the body. God covered it ALL. I love it! It's like we KNOW stuff, but oh how I love learning more depth to a truth I already know. It drives it that much deeper. The Word is thorough!

I was on the way to work this morning, and was listening to the radio. A Coke-a-Cola advertisement came on, featuring a young man talking about helping mom with dinner. He said a line that nearly made me drive off the road. It was something along these lines:
"Mom invited me over for dinner, so I brought some Coke..."
I thought 1) Mom must be a REAAAAAALY bad cook to cause you to do drugs before you eat, and 2) I am thankful that my mom doesn't cook like that.

I think I'll have a cup of coffee. My blueberry muffins turned out well. Whole wheat, flax, real butter. I wish I could ship these wild blueberries to Dina. They were $8 I think @ Costco for a couple of frozen lbs. But they are organic and tiny, perfect for muffins and such.
I've had stomach cramps for the past 2 days. Its been terrible. And I'm stil congested from my cold. I'd like to have just 1 day feeling good.

Just found out a couple hours ago that the house I live in will either be sold or foreclosed on. My landlady is so far behind she doesn't know when my water or electric will be turned off.
So I will be homeless and carless. Looks currently like I'm moving in with my mother and sharig my dads car til I can get my own. Thank God he's a truck driver!!! A gentleman I worked with at Autozone has a house I can rent in a few months. Hopefully I'll get a car by then.

Hello.
Been busy, busy. We've put around 400+ miles on rusty since Tuesday morning, with around 250 of them in the past two days. The car show is collossal, and my uncle is like a kid in a candy store....he's found three different cars he's considering buying, but is not sure which one he wants... :lol: He HAS decided he wants Rusty. I put the kibosh on that notion right quick like. I have walked probably close to a hundred miles this week...and actually enjoyed it. Ya know, if I could do this swap meet thing every day for a year, I'd be 1) cured of my car addiction and 2) much slimmer.
I DID have one incident that nearly caused me to lose my christian witness today. In fact, I really wanted there to be no witness. I found a under dash airconditioning unit I've been wanting for Rusty. Such a deal at $25. Asked the guy if it works- yep. Asked him the price- he showed me the tag. I repeated "$25?" Since that was about $75 cheaper than what most were selling for. "Yep". I gave him $30. He fumbled for my change then said "Wait- we aren't understanding one another. That unit is $125." I understood him fine when he said $25.. That really ticked me off. Had strong considerations of beating him over the head with it. Was the better man by walking off fuming, while praying that he would be smitten with emrods....... :laughhard: Lord help my carnal, mean spirit. See ya tomorrow....short night and long day ahead, and one I am looking forward to. :clap2:
God is a kind and sweet God.
I have been praying some new prayers over my marriage and there seems to be an extra bit of blessing in it lately. Different churches/leadership excel in different areas. While I do feel like I get top notch preaching/teaching from my pastor/staff, it seems the biggest strength here is that of learning balance. Without it, the best preachers win others but not their families, life is a roller coaster of emotions, people burn out, there's great faith but not good sense. If I have one thing, let it be balance in all things. Spirit and Truth, boldness and meekness, faith and works, ect.
Please say a prayer for me, went into work and had to come home very sick. Then trying to rush in the apartment in a frinzy I apparently lost the ability to recognize that a car key no matter how hard I try will unlock my front door. Having a rough morning.

I have spent a wonderful day going around (and around and around and around) Nashville. The drive from where I live in southwest TN to where I was going in middle Kentucky takes 3 hours, 49 minutes according to Mapquest. According to Isaac-piddling it took more than 11 hours. I stopped in a lot of thrift stores and plowed through all their CDs and tapes. Got um... well... I haven't counted yet, but it's a bunch.
I'm happy. :)

Dads balking on waiting to share a car. We'll see what happens. Luckily my uncle who lives a few doors down from my mom works a couple blocks from my job. So I'll hitch a ride with him every morning if I have to. It'll take a good 2 hrs to walk home though :/ Of course Brandon is gonna help me as much as he can but I'm moving further away from his house/work route.
Going to get a storage unit to start moving Monday. Also opening a savings account to get a good sum of money down for a car.
Athena (one of my kitties) is going to live at the animal hospital as a blood donor cat. Whiskey has to go live with Brandon's mom. Topher is coming with me :)

After some research I have figured out why they call it a continental breakfast. In the days of the Civil War, the South figured they could just print more money. This naturally shot their inflation sky high, and one of their dollar bills, called a "continental" was considered worthless. In fact the phrase "Ain't worth a continental" came to be used to denote something that was utterly worthless.
Thus it is with the continental breakfast. It ain't worth a continental. :P I went down to the lobby hungry, looked around and came back to my room, still hungry. Cold cereal, cardboard waffles and prefab sausage biscuits that look exactly like the ones in the vending machine at work.
I'm sorry that they didn't offer fresh home churned butter, milk still warm from the cow, fresh fruit just picked this morning, meat butchered last night and all the other delights that please your discriminating pallet.

Well, the day started decent and will end with thankfulness. My marine sister is pregnant! My sister with the twins is dealing with the fact that her husband of one year has left her.
Nathan and I ran errands so the kids could wrap his present (new church shoes) and put the photos in the picture frame I just bought today. They broke it. Not on accident but because they were not being Christian to eachother or at all. Very disappointing.
Lawd A'mighty, I is tarred....Oh wait, I slipped into "Rusty speech" there.. :laughhard:
I've had a terrific time this week. And just to pre-warn you guys- the "Meeting of the Minds, round 2"- or 3, depending on your count- has occurred. Mini slipped over yesterday, and he and I went running around the car show and the area. Had a Blast!
I'm sure y'all *might* see some evidence of it...... :freaky2:
And after the past 36 hours or so, I am once again reminded of how thankful I am for this place and the friends it has provided me with. Without being TOO sappy- Man, I love this place. :clap2:

I'm back home in Tennessee. That was one good wedding. They didn't go all-out lavish, it was a modest little wedding in a modest little pentecostal church, but there is real love there. :marry: Those two are perfectly matched for each other, and they are both as much in love with God as with each other.
So now I'm home, it's 21:31 and I still have to vacuum the church. Big church, it'll take a couple of hours. Fortunately I work second shift so I'm used to staying up late. :cool:

I believe I have mentioned all the CDs and cassettes I picked up at thrift stores last Friday. With my job production is determined by what comes down the furnace line, not how fast *I* work, so as long as I keep up with what comes down the line I can fiddle with other stuff. When I have a new batch of music to sort through I have a habit of bringing a CD player and sorting through it at work.
I said all that to say this: Monday gonna be a fun day at work. :D

Well I had a much needed day off today. Back to the grind at four thirty in the morning.

Dad didn't have any appointments or anywhere to be at all today, so I was permitted to sleep till 7:30, and really didn't DO much of anything today except load the dishwasher. I was able to take a nap as well. It was lovely. Tomorrow my day starts at 4 and we are going strong all day. Dialysis, and I'm gonna try to make a funeral viewing, then pick him up and go get fitted for a diabetic shoe. Then I don't know what all else.
But today sure was nice. It was the very first day in over 6 weeks that I didn't have to go or do anything. That was lovely. :bigcheese:
Went to work, came home, yadda yadda. Gotta go tend fowl and water some garden etc.

As much as I am around dead bodies and the funeral home and such, I really dislike funerals. UGH. I don't know what to say much to the family. Especially when the deceased is someone who was clearly not living for God and had never obeyed the Bibles plan of salvation. And especially when the grandson of said person thinks that she is in a better place and he will see her again.
What am I supposed to said to him when he talks about that?
I don't want to go today. The upside is that I'll only be able to go to the viewing and not the funeral itself. But I still don't want to. But I will, to show support for my friends and their family. I will do that.
Now to get up and start getting ready so I can start this day an get it over with.

Nice weather the last few days. Yesterday was a heat index of like 102° but it was windy, about the same today.
So my sister who's husband left her. It boggles my mind. I don't know if you guys remember that when I was praying one day for my sister's salvation I recognized the hinderance that my parents were presenting. So I asked God if they were a hinderance to her salvation to remove their influence, separate them. That DAY my sis called me to tell me there was a confrontation with her dad over a sensitive subject. From that day on there was a separation. Totally not what I would have thought or wanted but God knows.
So last week my other sister, Becky and I are talking on the phone about how Elizabeth and all the kids are coming to visit her. We are excited cause she can see the good things God is doing in Becky and go to church with her. We make a pact to pray and also fast a certain day each week. Well, on that day we begin our fast, Elizabeth calls and tells us that her husband has left her kind of. He doesn't actually say that, he just moves out... He's not communicating very well. It's been a loooong week for her. Her world has pretty much fell apart. BUT she has started praying, first for her husband, then to God directly, and today she sent me a text saying God is giving her strength and doing something wonderful in her. See, she went out and applied, got and started a job last week. It requires excercise and she is pretty out of shape. She also got a little kiddie pool and has been out with the kids. She is feeling great physically. While praying for her this morning, I felt the need to tell her about Christian radio. She is clueless about it.
So I called her and I told her what station it was for her town. She told me she had made up her mind to go to church on Sunday. You guys! This sister has been very reluctant towards God/church since she was little. She has shown tiny signs here and there but this is a big step for her! She told me that eventhough it wasn't apostolic but baptist that she wanted to start somewhere. PTL! I told her I was excited for that and though they may not have some of the basics that we know, whatever the Bible says is still the Bible and when they teach Bible, it'll still bless her. I said if her daughter (9yrs) wanted to be baptized at some point just insist that it's in Jesus name! She told me no way, if Lexi wants baptized they will drive down to my church and do it. She then told me that Lexi has actually been asking about baptism lately. God clearly isn't just doing a work on my sister but the family. I don't know what is going on with her husband, he came and got every stitch of everything, even paperwork, he could find of his and she ran into him getting an official change of address at the PO. He just tells her he doesn't know what he feels, he just needs to get away to think. :roll: Apparently he needs all that stuff to help him think.
Anyways, my God is doing something great. I cannot wrap my mind around it. But He's not done with my family!!!

Went to work, came home. Eating.
Fowl tending and garden watering await me.
so i got home this evening and didn't have any electricity :roll: she gave me 5 whole days of warning. 5 DAYS!! we finish painting the room i'm moving into tomorrow. it's currently hot pink, lime green, and midnight blue. my sisters doing when she was in middle school. we'll be moving my bed on thursday. luckily i had already offered my shift friday to another girl and i'll be off work friday/saturday/sunday to get everything situated. i'm just really mad at this point.
What a blessing that you have family to lean on, Heather. Not everyone's parents would be open to them moving back in.
My mother who abhors church? We'll see how it goes. Keep me in your prayers. Luckily with the car situation I now live 1/2 mile from the church so I can walk if need be.
Whew. Finally done.
Been going all day today. Viewing was ok, I was spazzed for nothing. I saw my friends, gave hugs, and got out of there in time to pick dad up. Then we went home. The guy from the car place called and said he had sold the motorhome!! It's gone! So dad and I went back to town and got the money! Dad is relieved. We ran errands, and came home again. Then I made dinner, and went BACK to town to clean the church. I'm finally home and ready to go to sleep.
Dad wants to get up early and go meet his old buddies at the grocery store deli place for breakfast tomorrow, so I guess we will do that. Go go go. He is more active now than he was when he could walk. Lol

If only you would shift your perspective just a little bit, you would see this is probably the best possible situation. Your mother will see the change God makes in you, and you will be a better christian for your mother's sake. All the arguing in the world would not get some people to go to church, where simple evidence of what God can do will.

I ordered a s'more!
I'm at the grocery store with dad, eating breakfast with his coffee drinking old guys. I think these guys are worse than women gossips, they talk about all kinds of stuff.

Nathan doesn't start work today till 11 and works till 7pm. They're doing this so that he doesn't go over on his 40hrs and still work on Friday. I think it's ridiculous but thank God he has a job. There's always gaps between the desk people and field people so nothing new in any occupation.
Cell group at my house tonight so I have to clean thoroughly, make cookies, and have Nathan's clothes ready, ironed, layed out since he'll get home during the lesson.
Talked to my Aunty last night. My uncle, who's been doing well in church for like 10 yrs left suddenly. But in a weird way. He is a drama queen but he left very low key, no beef with anyone, only kind words. He just got done with chemo a few months back and started right back to his heavy labor job. He looks out of sorts and acts out of sorts. I wonder if the chemicals have messed with his mind and the devil is taking advantage? He is going to church somewhere else but nobody knows what's going on. He was witnessing up to the week he left, he's a soul winner. Please pray for him, his name is Paul.

Been running around with Dad today. We went a little bit of everywhere today it feels like.
Now I'm going outside to tend to my pool. Filters go on sale next week and I may get one in the price is reasonable.
I need to start using the pool. I am too white.
Got the pool all clean. Now I'm putting fresh water in it. I may swim in it this afternoon/evening. I am SO TIRED and my muscles ache. I don't really feel like going BACK into town again to go to prayer tonight. I may decide to stay home. If I do, I think a soak in the pool will help my tired and sore body.

PRAISE!!! Landlady has decided to sell me the Passport for only $750!! Originally she wanted $2000. But it needs some work which I'm ok doing once its MY car. No point putting alot into something she could have taken with herto Chicago at any time. Plus she finally apologized for putting me in the situation I'm in.

Had a lady from church that I'm not super close to but she's a great lady, call me a few hrs ago. She had taken her newborn in to be circumcised at a pediatricians, and they couldn't stop the bleeding. They called for an ambulance. She was crying so hard on the phone that I couldn't understand where she was saying, finally she handed the phone to someone and they told me. She was 5 min. from my house and needed me to watch her little girls. They are very sweet girls, one is Hannah's age. So we picked them up, they were just being good little girls in the waiting room, unaware of the situation.
It might sound shallow of me but this morning I was feeling emotional. I feel like I do near to nothing for God, that I'm not that spiritual though I desperately want to be.. well I guess just more. I had went to my room shut the door and was crying out to God to change me so that I could be used. That is when this lady called. I'm so carnal... I answered. LOL Who answers the phone when they're praying? It's not spiritual to babysit but I'm glad to be a help, reguardless. If you think of it, pray for baby Xavier.
The girls have played in the sprinkler, watched a Leave it to Beaver episode, ate lunch and are now drawing/writing letters to their friend who recently moved away. If they are still here, they're going to make tiny little blueberry pies for themselves.
The littlest one who is 5 told me in the car on the way to my house that she likes to pray every day but doesn't usually when they go places in the morning. So I told her that Hannah and her and sister could have their own morning prayer mtg first thing before they play so they'll have a good day. ♥ They did. How sweet is that.
Found the night managers debit card in the parking lot this morning returned it and she was more worried about a misplaced drink cup. Didn't even say thanks. Some people are weird!

I find it odd that they were surgically cutting and didn't just use the little plastic ring gadget if he's just a newborn.... Poor thing either way.

A black man with a gun is shoveling poop out of the chicken house. And I'm eating a refried bean platter.
They still have to cut it before they put the ring gadget on it. The ring thing is to help it heal instead of stitches or whatever. They glue it on there and when it's healed up, it falls off in the diaper.
I got the full lesson on that when I stayed in the hospital with my SIL after Jeremy was born.
But I am with you, why did they wait? They normally do that the day or two after birth, before he goes home from the hosp.

Hmm...I didn't realize that required cutting...I thought it was applied, the string was tied around it, and it just fell off in time. :freaky:
The black guy is a game warden that's friends with my sister and he wanted poop for his garden.

I find it odd that they were surgically cutting and didn't just use the little plastic ring gadget if he's just a newborn.... Poor thing either way.
I don't really know why they waited, Andrew's was done like his 2nd day out. And there was no ring or stitches. I know this family is paying all their own hospital expenses and after some research they seen how much teh hospital jacks up the prices for stuff that isn't necessary right at birth in the first place. So they were particular in what the hospital could do. That could be why? I don't know.
Baby is fine and the girls all had a great time. Cell group was good, lots of praise reports from things we as a group are praying about. I made snickerdoodles and coffee, so I am AWAKE. (http://gfxlovers.com/smilies/imgs/girly/girly004.gif)
So our friend that has been living with us has finally reached his goal. He is off to France in a few weeks. Close to Paris. Once there he will be an aupair, I don't think I spelled that right, going to school, and doing what he can in the church there. He was so excited to get his visa in the mail today.
We're throwing him a Bon Voyage party next week. It'll be in our yard and I'm trying to make it with a bit of French theme but we're grilling burgers and brauts. I don't know what to do about a "cake" for him. I definately don't want to do a regular cake. Is cheesecake French?

I just turned on my lamp by my bed, and flames shot out, it popped really loud and then the bulb went dark. I had to blow the flames out from the base of the bulb. :o So I promptly unplugged it and now I guess I have to find a new lamp. Lol

Oh, I did stay home, and was trying to relax in the pool, but for one, it was too cold and that didn't help my stiff sore muscles any, and it still had little dead bugs in it that freaked me out so I prolly stayed all of five whole minutes in there. So I went in and took a hot shower instead and rested in my room.

Had an awesome service last night. Bro Papa preached on prayer and fasting, and later told me he expected it to be a bit dry and boring...but no, about halfway through the Bible Study, God showed out. People dancing, shouting, jumping......some of the kids in my class getting a grip! I LOVE to see that. So thankful 1) for kids that WANT more of God and 2) someone who has stepped up and helped the youth immeasurably , with FundRaisers, ect......
Back home from taking dad to Dialysis. Made a yummy bowl of grits and some toast. There is nothing more comforting (to me) breakfast wise than a big bowl of grits. I guess cause I loved them as a child, and still love them.
Now I think I'll go lay down for awhile longer. Had a good prayer in the truck on the way back from town, it started with a Matt Redmon (sp?) song on the radio. It was powerful and put me into a prayerful state of mind and The Holy Ghost swept into the truck! Now Im home, I've eaten, and I also have dinner all prepared to go in the oven later. This day has already been productive and it's only 7am!
Grits to me is like eating sand. My husband loves them with a soft egg on top.
I love them that way too! But I didn't want egg today, so I just had the grits and toast.

Y'all just haven't cooked them right. Grits should be served with cheddar and lots of it. Properly made grits don't pour out of the pan, they crawl. And they should be eaten hot, because cold cheese grits are harder than a tire iron.
Every person I know that likes them, likes them sweet....not salty. lol
I like them salty. And I also like them with lots of cheese. There is a diner place in Panama City that made the best cheese grits. :fork: I wish we had a place like that here.
My husband never eats them sweet as far as I know.
Wow, I must be the only one with nothing fun to do tonight. I'm making up the grocery list and readying for the party on Saturday. It's going to be lots of good fellowship and strengthening connections.
I think I'm having sympathy symptoms for my sis' pregnancy. LOL I don't even know if that's actually possible but she is on my mind with it all. She decided she probably didn't need to run so hard and for so many miles everyday. And she's allotting herself some mashed potatoes or pasta occasionally. I told her it doesn't matter if she gains 50 lbs. She's got the rest of her life to excercise and be fit, let the baby grow in peace... lol
I don't care what the experts are saying these days. If it hurts to run when you're pregnant, don't run. If you are feeling extremely fatigued, rest. If you're craving cottage cheese, eat it!
Well....I survived my day. LOOOOOONNNNNG day. I had to hang around work after I got off at 3pm for a class that started at 5:30pm and lasted until 8. Then I had to drive an hour home. The class, a CPR class, was taught by an 81 year old that looked like he would require CPR before the class was done. Then I nearly lost it when he stated, "I've had to perform CPR three times in my life. Sadly, all three people died." :o All I could think of is, "Geez, I KNOW how to let them die. Can we get an instructor that's had a little success over here?" :laughhard:

Thank you for praying for my uncle Paul. He did not leave God, he left that particular church. God is working in his life and after praying for him I texted him to see if he was going on vacation up here like they often do for the 4th of July. He called me back and said they were vacationing in Branson, leaving today. He then felt that he could share with me everything. It was so faith boosting! God is good. And I have been chastened. When someone says that someone left "church" no matter how much I love and respect them, I need to be more hesitant to take everything for face value. Few people I cherish more than my Aunt but our lack of information caused us/me to try and reason the gaps out. What's funny is with anyone else I am extremely careful to not write someone off. "It's not over till their dead" is something I remind myself of routinely. It helps me pray with compassion. Yet, here I was so carnal and because it was someone I think of as mentor, I recieved the negativity, or the lack of positive for a reason to think negatively. Shame on me. By the grace of God I will not make that mistake again.
everything is packed and moved except my kitchen stuff and few odds and ends. and other than mom's neighbor helping me get the mattress from the truck to the front door, I did every single thing myself. Not having the best day. Spent the morning in the ER to find out the extreme pain in my side is from a severe kidney infection. Spent most of the rest of the day in bed miserable. I need prayer for relief hurting much worse at times now on the pain meds than I was without them.

Been a busy day today....and very hot. My department is changing over from .40 caliber pistols to .45 caliber pistols, so I had to go to the range with two other firearms instructors and shoot 20 Glocks to verify that they worked properly. Got done with that, wanted to go work on my toys, but it was just too hot..... bet it was around 100 degrees here today. I wussed out and came inside.
This next week is gonna be fun- supposed to set record high temps Monday and Tuesday. That JUST HAPPENS to be the two days I'll be stuck out on the range in the heat, trying to qualify twenty cops, half of whom couldn't hit their own toe if they were aiming at it....Lord.
we're in the low 90's here the past 2 days. which happened to be the 2 days i had to move. no electric = no ac in the house i was moving from.
i've never been so happy to freeze at my mothers house.
i've never shot a gun, but supposedly the boyfriend and his soon to be brother-in-law are gonna take me to the range soon to teach me :cool:

Main thing is, don't be scared of the gun. Respect it, but don't fear it. Most ladies I've shot with have a tendacy to either hang onto the gun like it's about to whip them, or not grip it tight enough. Both have less than stellar results. Relax and enjoy shooting it...it can actually be fun.

A hundred and eight!?! Um, no thank you.
I had a great Friday and Saturday. Too many things to even start telling all of them. But Kimber and I had an amazing time and spend most of that time laughing and being silly. It was lovely. Mom and Dad survived with me away. It was miraculous! The house is 10X worse than when I left, but they are ok and mom didn't kill him, so I guess it's ok that she trashed the house.
Fixing to get ready and head to church. I love my life!
No cooking today either...dad said we can actually go out to eat. That's another miracle!
Still feeling rough. Thanks for the prayers!! Need to get much better in the next 48 hours due back at work 5am Tuesday if this pain does not ease up I am not sure that can happen. With going to the ER Friday I can't afford to go see a doctor either. SO please keep praying!!

went to church. mom didn't raise a fuss with me going. 1 sunday down and it went fairly well. she even told me i looked cute. we had 2 baptized after service. then we had friends & family day.

Finished one of the busiest days of my life yesterday. Was going pedal to the metal, 100 miles a hour, non-stop from 6:30 yesterday morning to Midnight last night.

Still fighting the kidney infection. Suppose to be into work at 5 am tomorrow to work a truck. I need healing and strength. Finalized the dates for the kid's crusade we are doing in Georgia in August. Getting excited about what God is going to do!
So...we had a huge jet land here. Bunch of executives, 2 pilots and a stewardess. In 10 years, we have only had 1 other jet with a stewardess, so they are rare...
I get doen fueling the jet, come in and fill out their ticket. Im sitting quietly at the counter, waiting for the pilot get done talking on his cell phone, and listening to the stewardess make catering arrangements via cell phone at their next stop. She is trying to get groceries for the plane (water, breakfast items, lunch items), and get their laundry (linen napkins, etc) taken care of too. She is a little high strung, sweating the details, and is griping at the pilot about their next stop.
The pilot asks if the linens can be taken care of at the hotel they are scheduled to stay at tonight, and in frustration, she blurts out "NO! Its another Podunk town!" As soon as she said that, she stiffened like she had been shot, turned beet red, and made a complete blubbering idiot out of herself...I nearly lost it. The pilot starts teasing her unmercifully about it. Poor girl, nothing she could say would come out right after that point.
So after a while I finish their ticket, help another pilot or two, and I am sitting in my office. She comes knocks on the door. She said, "Sir, I dont know if you heard my disparaging remark earlier." I said, "About us being a Podunk town?" Should not have said that...the poor girl blushed so bad her arms turned red. ROFLOL She apologized, and I thanked her (I did say that yes, we were a Podunk town) and complimented her on having enough character to admit she was wrong, and trying to rectify the situation. That took courage.
All in all, it was a funny event.
And for Roscoe: Chelleebelle drove Sam all by herself today. She had it in her head she wanted to fix some fencing at our house, so in order to get the said fencing, she had to have a truck. She even made sure I left Sam's key so she could have access to him. I guess going to church last night got part of the devil prayed out of him, he didn't try to fuss too much.
I went to the beach for a few hours with Ann and her Granddaughters, and I got BURNT, and pooped on by a seagull. But then I went to Sonic and got a free ice cream cone and a cherry limeade. Now I'm at home under the fans with minimal covering trying to cool off. Lol gonna cook hotdogs for dinner later on the grill, then dad and I are going to talk to this guy about a blazer he has for sale. I may own a car again by the end of today. :bigcheese:

In Lonoke, at the firing range I was on ALL day from 7am to 4pm, it was 109. And I felt every degree. I believe I drank 8 liters of water and two sodas today. I still feel drained. And I need y'all to pray for me. This whole range thing is NOT going well. I have a outside professional observer watching my buddy and I run the range. I feel like we are doing a good job, and from his conversation with me, I think he feels the same. And I and my buddy have qualified. BUT- I have had four of my officers fail to qualify so far, with just one more shot at doing so. This could mean major changes at my job, to say the least, and lots of overtime/comp time I really don't want. Pray that a) God's will be done and 2) I don't screw up. I'm leaving it all in His hands.
I dont want it to be 106!! LOL!! :)

The scan showed no large stones. The doctor did say though it could be to small to really see or could just be missed by the scan. They were positive of the severe infection though. Just doesn't seem to be getting better. Not sure what to do but keep praying.

Just got back from the doctor. He said he is "positive" I am passing a kidney stone regardless of what any test shows. He also says the day I got sent home the week before last throwing up was probably the first sign of the stone starting to move. He thinks between then and last Friday it got stuck somewhere and caused the infection. He thinks it has moved much lower now and should pass within the next 48 hours. Gave me new meds and told me not to dare go to work tomorrow. He cleared me for Thursday hoping it will pass by then.
My life is consumed with care for my dad and I just feel so exhausted most of the time. I read all the posts a couple of times a day at least, but I just never feel like commenting.

Went to work....moving a CVS department from one location to a new store location down the street.
I picked up more cleaning at the church so I now do 3/4 of the cleaning each week. This is 8-10 hours/wk. It's kind of boring on the kids to be there for 4-5hrs at a time so I try to break it up. This means I'm going to church to clean about 3-4 days a week.
Bon Voyage party for a friend this Friday, then service @ a nursing home Sat. Our friends decided they were coming over here for the 4th, so a get together here next Wednesday. Our friend leaves for France on Thursday, we are heading up north on Friday to see family for the wknd. We'll get back Sunday night and then Hannah leaves for camp the next morning.
Soo... I feel like I'm kind of busy but probably not as much as you guys.
They have hired somebody for the Spencer route....so I'll only be doing it for another few weeks or something till they start. Not having to drive all over there will be nice.

Anyhoo.....today was a MUCH better day at the range. I only had to work twelve hours, it was only 95 degrees with a strong bree got all but two of the department qualified, and am generally at peace about everything. Man, the peace that God gives- SO thankful for it, and my friends' prayers.
I've gotta spend two to four hours at a local range tomorrow with one of my two failures, then chief ordered me to take the rest of the day off. Got to drive a state car home too- a peppy little 2009 Impala SS. Mini would drool, this little thing will flat haul the mail!
And in other matters- praying for NewLife101. I know how hard it is to lose a parent. :cry: Dad's been gone two and a half years and I'd give anything to have him back.
And Taco- praying for you too, son. That sounds like a bad, bad, painful situation..... :o
Add praying for me on your list. I'm an idiot. I now have blisters on my upper arms and they are swollen and tight. It hurts to even breathe. My feet and legs are swollen and bright pink.
I came back from escorting dad around today, at about 4:30, and have not moved from my bed. I can't move without liturally crying from pain. My skin is so hot and tight. But Im cold and covered up. Shivering. Ugh!
It's all my fault. I should wear sunscreen. But I never do. Even a low number would be better than this suffering.

Oh! And a bit of good news, Justin called today and said he had attended a funeral for a guy who was shot by a gang. The funeral was a very unusual one though, by the time it was over SEVENTEEN people had been baptized in Jesus name!

Ok dude, you just freaked me out...
So I googled the symptoms of heat stroke. WHEW! I only have one. The red and hot skin. My pulse isn't fast, I'm not nauseated, disoriented, or fainting. I'm not hot, I can sweat, and I am in a air conditioned environment.
I think I can rule out heat stroke symptoms for this time. And actually at the moment, I'm feeling somewhat better. Still hurts, but not like it was! Mom brought me some cheese and crackers to nibble on, and I'm fixing to venture into the kitchen and get some water.
Thanks for the concern and for flowering me out a bit. But I'm gonna be fine. ;) I think. Lol

Anyhoo.....today was a MUCH better day at the range. I only had to work twelve hours, it was only 95 degrees with a strong bree got all but two of the department qualified, and am generally at peace about everything. Man, the peace that God gives- SO thankful for it, and my friends' prayers.
I've gotta spend two to four hours at a local range tomorrow with one of my two failures, then chief ordered me to take the rest of the day off. Got to drive a state car home too- a peppy little 2009 Impala SS. Mini would drool, this little thing will flat haul the mail!
And in other matters- praying for NewLife101. I know how hard it is to lose a parent. :cry: Dad's been gone two and a half years and I'd give anything to have him back.

It's some of the worst pain I have had. The doctor said kidney stones rank among the worst pain you can have. When he saw I had that and an infection to go along with it he was very sympathetic.

I made it thru the night. I must have been moaning and crying while I slept fitfully cause at 4am, I vaguely remember my mom coming in here and giving me a lortab which I took without hesitation, and that's the last thing I remember. Yep. I have used almost half of a big bottle of sunburn relief aloe gel. It works on contact, but lasts maybe 2 or three minutes before it starts burning again, and the gel itself becomes hot on my skin.
If you add grapeseed oil (about 1 TB) and lavender essential oil (like20 drops) to Aloe vera JUICE it will give you much more relief. Also, chamomile oil or lavender oil with a bit of even just vegetable oil, in a cool bath or cold wet cloth compress will help.
OH, and if you have those vitamin E capsules, squeezing the oil from them on your burn area after you've done the above will make it heal much faster.

My brother in law was here in revival last week and they brought us some Trader Joe's dark chocolate bars and 72% cacao dark chocolate bars. They are both some of the best dark chocolate I have had and you get like 3 bars for 2 bucks. When I tasted how good they were it made me think of you, so I thought I would tell you about them in case you have one close by.
Still in pain. Was hoping to go back to work tomorrow but as of right now the stone hasn't passed yet. My boss said not to worry about my job just get better. It's hard not to worry though. Just keep trying to remind myself God is in control and has a plan for all things including kidney stones.
I've heard of that Joe character, but never seen his trading post. I'll see if I can get an online locater on the dude.

Trader Joe's is awesome. It's Whole Foods Inc. without the middle man so you can get GOOD food for far cheaper. Milk there is $2 but it doesn't have the hormones or antibiotics in it. Their coffee, which is $5 a can, is very good! I wish there were one closer to me. I have to go all the way cross stateline to KS to go to one.
Everyone is whining about the heat. I could understand if they were working outside but they are all in AC. So their "suffering" is based on the walk to the car. Americans overdo AC in general. It's been proven that cranking your AC so much and then walking out into the heat/humidity is so much harder on a person. Our bodies can't adjust very fast or well. Same with heat in the winter, I'm guilty of that one.
In the Middle East, they drink HOT tea and it's been proven to cause their body temp to adjust better. We're obsessed with ice and AC... lol I'm guilty, I like ice in my drinks with a straw. I'm spoiled!!! How on earth could we be spiritual if this country suffered serious economic issues?
I don't do ice in my drinks (and everyone at work thinks that is odd) but the air conditioner sure does help when I'm on the furnace line, in the middle of summer.
I like AC. God bless the inventor. I just don't need to be so chilled that the heat knocks me out when I leave. I like just enough to take the edge off. Different people have different edges though. Growing up, my step dad would crank it high and draw all the curtains. So it'd be dark and cold nearly every day. Kinda creepy actually.
Talking about everyone whining about the heat... When I worked at McD's I was on the grill. Anyone complained about the heat, I would ask them if they wanted to trade jobs. It always ended the whining. :)

Made an awesome spur of the moment meal. I reheated some mashed potatoes with a bit of Mrs.Dash and garlic, I sautéd some zuchinni and shredded carrot w/ some Tony's. I made some quinoa in chicken broth which served as a bed for some broiled tilapia that had pulsed onion, red pepper and jalapeno on top. All in 20 min. with the kids' help!
Nathan is exhausted, please pray he doesn't get sick. He said it's too hot to wear a hat but he's outside all day working hard. Today was only 101° but the heat index was 111°. Tomorrow is supposed to be 104°. He drank a little over a gallon of water throughout.

Well, the mandate for healthcare was upheld, ruled as constitutional. We rarely ever go to the Dr. and we can't afford health insurance at all. So the Lord's going to have to increase our pay and keep us super healthy. We hear all the time from foreigners how horrible this turns out. Ones that can afford it, come here for surgeries and such because the waiting list is far too long in their country. Blah.
On the upside. People will be more desperate and open to being healed from the Lord. Jesus, increase me that I can be perpetually used!
So, are they going to jail folks that can't afford insurance? Fine them? How can they pay a fine if they already can't afford to buy insurance? grrr

I don't know the total ins and outs of it, maybe someone else can chime in here. If I understand it though, yes, we will be fined. Their answer to this is that we will have the option to have government healthcare and thus no excuse to not have it. The only problem I have with this is the requirements that will be enforced upon people with govn't healthcare. It was already stirred up last year? about the vaccine against cervical cancer being required in a state.. not sure which one, you can google it. The problem with that vaccine is that the virus is an STD. There's been deaths linked to it and it hasn't been proven that the vaccine actually anilates the virus or conclusively that the virus causes cervical cancer. I don't care to have my kids vac'd for an STD when they are abstinent anymore than I'll be putting them on bc. People are so stupid that think there aren't wholesome kids out there. And I wouldn't be suprised if they made bc necessary for teens too. I couldn't take reg. bc because of my high cancer risk, so that's gonna jack up a bunch of people.
It's not conspiracy or crazy, it's realistic possibilities. I hope it doesn't happen.
And duh. There are taxes we will be paying for this. So it's not really less expensive healthcare. It's only going to be free to those on welfare, as usual.

I quite agree. And to keep from getting wound up and on a political soapbox, I'll simply say that I disagree strongly, both with the individual mandate and the Supreme Court's veiw of the mandate being a "tax"....
And off of politics- I was pleased today when the last officer I had that had not qualified managed a miracle on par with rising from the dead- he qualified. :o I was even more pleased when I got to read the independant observer's comments on my range process and the professionalism of myself and my fellow instructors. Plainly put, he was impressed and bragged on us alot. My Chief told me that he was going to attempt to get the instructors a raise after reading that report. :clap:
Other than feeling ill to my stomach and fearing to get too far from a particular room in my home- and it ain't the kitchen- today has been a grand day.
What makes the least amount of sense to me is that if this healthcare mandate is a result of the medical community being overwhelmed by patients who cannot afford to have insurance and cannot pay their med. bills, what does this really do but make people who can't afford it, poorer? Besides the fact that now though there is government insurance, there will still be a co-pay, which people who can't afford insurance but are forced to get it or fined will be able to pay more $$ for such co-pays. It would seem that while people will be paying more taxes, there will be fewer who can actually afford to go to the Dr., right?
But they'll have to at some point. So then what? Denied because they choose the fines over the insurance? Or what will be the enforcement of not paying government insurance costs or fines or co-pays? Would it be considered tax evasion? Which is punishable by jail. Having wages garnished until it's paid, like they do for taxes and child support?
There seems to just be too many questions that I don't like any of the possible answers to.
This really doesn't make anyone poorer but it does make millions more reliant on the government. Basically, this bill would triple the number of Medicaid patients, and Medicaid is already broke now. The court did say that states didn't have to expand medicaid, so in some ways as it stands right now this law has major holes which still have to be addressed anyway. God is still in control even of Obamacare.
Stone feels like it may finally pass tonight. Antibiotics have caused secondary issues. I am praying I get to go back to work on Saturday!! Please help me pray!

Kimber...or actually Kimbers Sister, gave us a HUGE zucchini last week and I have been trying to decide what to do with it. Well, I'm gonna cut it in half, stew half of it with onions and freeze it, and the other half I found a recipe for the zucchini, corn, sliced tomatoes and Parmesan cheese all baked into a casserole type dish. I'm gonna add onions to the recipe, and prolly top it with shredded cheese. I'm also making cube steak with mushroom gravy, and mashed taters to go with it...and maybe I'll bake a cake. Hmmm.
Right now I'm cleaning the kitchen and washing clothes. It is going to be a great day today!
I need to look up some zuchinni and squash recipes.... :smirk2:

Oops, didn't mean to give the impression I had a toothache. This was just another drill-n-fill. The pain came from the needle, and from the drill when we found out the tooth was not numb yet. It seems in some few people a nerve swings down through the mandible and picks up nerve signals it ought to be leaving alone. Dentist popped that nerve too, and all was well.
Well. I am alive. The sunburn has subsided to a dull pain that is tolerable. I don't even notice it unless I bump my arm or move too suddenly. If I am completely still, it goes away completely with no pain at all, which is a far cry better than the last few days.
We have a car wash today. I am overdressed for the occasion, with a white long sleeved shirt, under my other blue shirt, an ankle leanth skirt, socks, tennis shoes, baseball cap and sunglasses. But with my recent battle with the sun, I am determined NOT to be exposed today. My skin is too raw for sunscreen yet, so although it will be a bit warm today, I'll just keep covered.
I'm at McDs right now. Had a biscuit and coffee after dropping dad off at dialysis.
Sill have an hour till time to meet my group.

Well we seem to be the only family in our church with power. The church has power though, but they have decided to cancel service. Which makes me sad. Those who have been missing might of actually come tomorrow if for no other reason than ac. Oh well.
It seems almost all the churches close enough for us to drive to have cancelled service for tomorrow. I took the van to a local shop today. Please help me pray it can be repaired cheaply!! I need that car for work. If not Elona has to get up two or three hours early to drive me in.

Went against the grain, as I really enjoyed driving my little chevy lumina around curves, but I got my ford windstar anyway. Sure has come in handy, what with the times I've needed to pick up the bus kids and the church bus was unavailable, and with all the audio gear I haul around.

They took some stitches out of dads stump on Tuesday. Well on thursday, I changed his bandage and where the stitches were below the small hole (that was healing and getting smaller) had busted open and now the small dime sized hole was about the size of a silver dollar. Deep and looking white and yucky again. We waited for the wound care nurse to look at it on Friday, cause I couldn't convince dad otherwise. She said it was bad, and that we needed to get it seen about, no later than Monday. So I let him slide yesterday, cause he had dialysis, but honestly, I was freaked out. I didn't want it to get infected and possibly have to take more of his leg off higher, and then we would be BACK in the hospital...more therapy, and longer recovery time when he has already progressed so far to this point. I was NOT having that.
So this morning on the way to church, while he was a captive audience, I lit into him. I gave him a lecture that wouldn't quit, and I told him that if he didn't voluntarily go to the ER this afternoon, or tomorrow morning, I WOULD call the ambulance to come get him. He said he wouldn't let me, I would be "in trouble" and I said I didn't care. I didn't care what he said or did to me, we were NOT going thru this mess again, so he better just go.
After church (we had an AMAZING service btw) I went to get him in the truck and he asked where I wanted to go to eat. Then when we were headed to the resturant and he said that after we ate he would let me take him to the ER! I did a happy dance riding down the road! Whoot!
So that's where we are now. In the ER, waiting on the dr to see him and see what he says.
Parents are hard to get raised sometimes. Lol
I can't get mom to go get her MRI to get her meniscus surgery. Instead she just wants to hobble around the house and whine about it. One day I'll just have to take off work and drive her out to the hospital.
That's how I have to do with dad sometimes.
These parents just need whipped all soundly and put to bed.
Ooh, it's getting dark, like it might rain!?!?!?!?! It sprinkled last night, could barely tell it had.
Please, Lord..... *looks at radar* There's a bunch RIGHHHT under us....I hope to shout that it hits us......

It rained enough to make it look like it rained, which is amazing. lol It's not doing much right at the moment but maybe a little bit more coming through hopefully.
i'm not sure rain would help us. probably just make it even more humid.
i hope this coming week is better at work than this past week. tomorrow is payday so that's good. the parents and sister start their journey back from Michigan in the am. It'll be weird to go from just me and the minions [cats] to me, the minions, mom, dad, and the dog [who mom insisted on boarding even though i've been home all weekend].
Didn't amount to much more but it did rain at least. It's extremely dry, everything is dead.
That's the way it was here last year. Thankfully this year has been better.
We had a monsoon a few weeks ago, and now it's hot and dry.
The dr said that Dads wound was ok, but he needs to make an appointment with the surgeon this week just to be sure. They didn't re-stitch it. I'll continue to do the home care for him, and call his surgeon tomorrow.
I'm just glad it wasnt infected. Thank you Jesus!

I don't feel like I say enough about what a good husband Nathan is, I'm afraid it'll sound like bragging. But I understand the importance of building others up & speaking good about them. It should them be that much more about my husband? Idk, 14 yrs & I still don't have it figured out. But he's a good solid Godly man. No frills, through & through honest to goodness guy. I'm so blessed. :love2:

We had some pretty bad storms from 11:30 to around 2 am. They honestly scared me a bit. Safe to say I remembered why I was so glad to live in a house. Any amount of wind feels like its gonna rip that trailer right off the ground. Sheesh.
Morning. I'm at work.
I feel lucky to be alive. Seriously.
At 3am, I was jolted awake by a pain in my leg, I was screaming. My calf muscle was contracting and throbbing and I was liturally screaming in pain. Then my left leg started in. Waves of pain with BOTH leg muscles contracting and expanding. I sat up and held my legs in my hands and I could feel the muscles moving in and out. I was pleading with God, crying, screaming, rebuking the pain in Jesus name. I woke up the parents with my noise, and they were yelling trying to figure out why I was screaming so. I finally was able to yell back between waves of pain. Mom never actually go up to see if I was ok...dad can't. This all lasted about 10 minutes, finally the muscles stopped doing whatever that was, and I was able to get up and walk around and try to shake it off.
Now I am SORE and afraid to get out of bed.
I suppose that was what is described as Charlie horses. I have had that pain before, like when I flex my calf muscle too much and have a pang of pain, but never EVER like that, and where it just repeated over and over for awhile.
Oy.
That made my legs hurts just reading about it. Yuck!! Hope its all better now.
It's better. Both legs are sore today, but I'm up and moving around.
My sunburned skin is peeling and raw on my upper arms. But I am happy to not be in major pain this morning.
Mel, make sure you drink plenty and maybe eat a banana. Leg cramps can be caused by dehydration or lack of potassium.
That's just what I was texting Seth about. Yesterday was the first time in awhile that I have eaten bananas. And the last few days, I have been craving water and drinking more of it than normal. But maybe it was just a weird coincidence.
We need rain too. I wonder what fall/winter is going to be like? Anyone read the farmer's almanac?
No midweek service this week due to the holiday so I only have to do one thorough cleaning and I'm not doing it today!
Had a two egg, onion, green pepper, tomato breakfast. Yum. I don't always eat breakfast.

Ever have life explode on you, and you're afraid you won't be able to say ANYthing positive, so you just don't say anything at all? Yeah, that. So. Now that I'm starting to get a better handle on life (and I mean that in mental, physical, and emotional ways) I'll just give the nutshell version of life over the last 4 months or so, and then just go on. More health issues, a miscarriage, my little Nana died, and another car went kuh-put on us. Among other things. But I'm slowly climbing out of the black hole I was in, and am having flashes of _almost_ being myself again. So. Maybe I'm back. Or coming back. Or something. :)

Howdy y'all. I was out with the Children's Church kids yesterday at the zoo. We got in a bit more than two hours of actually walking around looking at animals, but with the drive up, breaking for lunch, the drive down, stopping for ice cream at a McD's (not my first choice, but they're kids and appreciated it just as much as they would have liked Blue Bell ice cream) and an emergency bathroom stop a whole 30 miles down the road from McD's... I got back home a good 10.5 hours after we left. And lay down on the couch and took a nap.
And I wish I had a serval.
I'm pretty sure I have sun poisoning. I itched all night last night, and this morning I have welps all over my arms, and legs, and my knuckles are so swollen it hurts to do anything. And the ITCHING! My sunburned areas are not even an issue anymore discomfort-wise. I'm also very sluggish and zombie like. I already pick up one of my kids this morning and took her with me to Walmart, to get snack bar stuff, and honestly, right now, all that is a very vague memory. :smirk2:
I want to cry. I want to sleep. I want to feel differently than I do this moment. Blah.
On the upside, dad will be out of dailysis soon, and after a Drs appointment, we can go home.

Melody for a bad sunburn that is normal. Damage to one point, like a cut on your arm or a finger caught in the door, is a small area of damage. A bad sunburn covers a large area, and will take a lot of energy to heal the damage. Even a minor sunburn can sap your strength.

@Heather: Still a ton of people in this area without power. Main transmission lines across the mountains are still down that feed some areas. They are saying that it will be this weekend before they think all power will be restored.

went to sweet frog which is an amazing frozen yogurt place. it's quite a few different flavors of yogurt and just about any topping you can choose. then we stopped at walmart and the fireworks tent that Restoration's daughter church is running.

Neighbor has invited us over for a cookout and pool party, but I'm paranoid about crowds and VERY uncomfortable around people I don't know. :-\ Chey and Lou will probably go over, and let Chey swim. I will probably invent an excuse not to go and retreat to my shop, or, if too hot, my recliner...

I can completely relate Roscoe, it's not weird at all. Nathan is easy going at all times so he evens me out. He is actually the social butterfly. I enjoy feeding people and I spend most my time in the kitchen while Nathan hosts.

I was told by several friends that saw me, to go to the ER. Thank God that we didn't wait so long as I had to wait with Dad on Sunday. I was in and out, treated and released in less than an hour. I was told I have sun poisoning and a serious allergic reaction due to too much sun. I'm now on steroids and a couple of other things and I'm gonna be fine in a few days. Hopefully.

Having been told by the King of Weird that I am, indeed weird, I shall have to accept it. I'm not "afraid" oh, Cheesemeister. I actually have been known to carry more than one gun at a time as well.
Just very uncomfortable around more than three or four folks. I even try to avoid Holiday get-togethers with Lou's family, and they are a bunch of good hearted loving country folk that would kill for me.... I'm just weird thataway.
Strangly enough, Lou's father is the same way.....He and I can spend any amount of time together, talking about cars and motorcycles, ect, but he's been to our home twice in the eight years we've lived here, and short of picking up Chey at his house, I think my record matches his....... :laughhard: We understand each other fine....

I had bought us some treats for when we were at the fireworks show, including a big bag of gummy bears. Last night when we got home, I was tired and silly, and I picked up my bag, I forgot the gummy bears were in there, and I pulled them out and said "Ohhhh! We have Jelly.....bears!" lol Kimber and I busted out laughing and it was just a great thing to say.

I now haven't slept for 5 nights. Ok. Not true. I sleep about an hour and a half then I'm wide awake for an hour. Repeat until about 6 am then it's just over. Can you die from exhaustion?
I had a fun day so far. Got my check stub, got some new blue jeans (some old ones were wearing out in... ahem... strategic locations) got some cream cheese for the cheesecakes, got a "buzz" haircut because it's summer and I always get a buzz cut in the summer for ventilation.
With all that accomplished... I think I'll take a nap. Nothing much to do today except work on a soundtrack, and that can always wait.
What a wonderful day. I drove my favorite ride to work today, and as usual collected adoring comments from nearly all who saw him. Then my boss comes over and informs me about an hour ago that effective next week, I shall see the results of a $2300 a year raise. :clap:

The weirdest week I ever had was the week after I had it out with God and finally agreed to be a minister. I've been busy. After my nap I bought another 10 CDs on amazon, then went to get some ice cream for the youth night at the church. Then we practiced some music for next Sunday. Now the youth singers are practicing while I'm killing time in the sound booth... ergo my presence here on the forum.
Got overheated unloading a truck in the heat today. Spent most of the evening in bed not feeling well after that. Working 8 hours in the morning then driving the four hour round trip to get our young people from camp. Say a prayer for me if you don't mind. Goodnight folks.

If anyone remembers say I prayer I'll get some rest tonight. I tried napping earlier and slept maybe 10 minutes out of an hour and a half. I've had one small bottle of Dr Pepper this morning and no other caffeine. Mom lives a couple trailer behind a car detailing business and they are currently BLARING a stereo. The bass is literally shaking things on my bathroom counter.

Went to the funeral home for the visitation of the mom of a gal that I grew up with. Hard loosing a loved one.
Ugh. Such an emotional roller coaster ride today.
I felt great physically when I woke up, had a great morning, dad got me a car! Yay! Get a phone call "firing" me from my cleaning job at church, boo! Frustrated. Then I get over it, and my day was looking better, then get a call about a friend and her unborn child that has the condition that we feared. Then a great evening at church, and just up down up down with my emotions all day. I get home to be yelled at by my mom cause I didn't call her so she could tell me what to get her on the way home. And my ceiling fan apparently died. And now I am crying again over this precious baby. Baby Hope.
