Years ago.....
I remember when Scott first laid down the law concerning no "standard" debates that a few of us, in complete understanding and IN TOTAL AGREEMENT with him, decided to help him soften the wise decision by being RIDICULOUS acting like we were trying to bypass his rule!!
:laughhard:
We started asking the most inane is-there-forgiveness-for-my-sin questions we could imagine. I remember asking about cleaning out the head hair from my vaccuum cleaner and the correct way to do so Biblically. I believe Scott joined in with his dilemma of having checked his mailbox in his wife's slippers. We ended up having so much fun in spite of a previously and, at the time, a still lingering tense situation.
Godplace helped me through four years of being away from home. Although I am not often around, don't think that my thoughts don't often stray to Godplace memories.
Schnookums dearest, you have left a Godplace legacy unlike many others with your creation of Sharing.
In actuality, you pretty much invented the Facebook Status Update, basically....
I think you need to sue some people for royalties, and become filthy rich so I can, I mean WE can, live in the lap of luxury as we grow old, wrinkled, and bald together.
The one that really got some odd answers was this one...
Quote"I used my wife's deodorant today; is that cross-dressing?"
However some of my not so fond memories were the PM's that I've received over the years.
We once had an alleged preachers wife that sent homo erotic porn to me - and then wanted to talk about it. This same person was stalking a 16 year old girl from GP and she did it from work. I contacted her ISP and they called the security department at her job with copies of the messages.
Once a male member of the forum sent threats of physical violence to a female member of the forum
Then there were a couple of posters who sent me emails and PM each and every time a moderator deleted a post or thread - demanding to know which moderator did it and why.
And then there was the time that Seth said something really weird... er.. um.. oh!

BOL!!! I had forgotten about that!!
Then there was a running gag - sis would post this Word and I would break up.
"Hair-esy"
One night she and her husband were in town and our families went out to eat at a Mexican restaurant (Don Pablo's). My meal came and it had Hair in it. I sent it back two or three times and it came back with hair each and every time. I said forget it and just munched on Chips and Sauce while everyone else ate.

Remembering my wedding day...
BTW, How did the marriage end? :)
I was never informed...women just booted me out. :o It is a scary day in which we are living, Tricia Lea, a very scary day.
Aw, such fond memories.

Seth is a polygamist.. pass it on. (http://www.iseesmileys.com/smileys/Gadu/Gossip.gif)

'Tis so sad. I have begged and begged for him to go back to his first love....
...but I remain a cast off...like one of Tea's stinky socks.
I remember his divorce!
*siigh*
Someone sent me a PM (I cannot remember who) and told me all about Seth D.i.v.o.r.c.e. and how bummed and depressed he was. I tried to reach out to him and he was all :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o
"I like coffee...and don't like people that don't.."
:( She doesn't like me.
Or me.
I'll drink it in an emergency - say when I have had about 4.5 hours of sleep and I have to get through a work shift - but it has to be a pretty dire emergency. And it had better be strong coffee... if I have to deal with the taste, I want it to have some kind of effect.

I remember you actually thinking that I really was divorced. I still don't know where that came from. :eyebrow:
I Cannot remember who said it, but they were convincing.

I've only been on here like 6 yrs & I can't hardly remember, we always move into the next bout of hilariousness.
I remember everyone getting Mel ducky decor for Christmas. I do remember the waxing, all the gals before the"great falling away." ;)
...you probably remember that only because of Slick Stilt's screams. :laughhard:
So Mt dew, Who has custody of the baby?
:)
The Cincinnati Zoo. :smirk2:

I remember being the cause of all the great falling away...no seriously. I started the SSotBHHCFM and we wouldnt tell the girls what it was...so they got huffy, started their own secret society, then went over to their own board...
:ugly:
That was also my first piratical..er... practical joke.
Then there was the time all the guys changed their screen name to SSotBHHCFM in some other language. Scott had to step in on that one.
Then there was the time I had everyone change their avatar all to a black square. I think one of the mods got a little upset...lol
Then recently, when Roscoe was unable to get on the net for 2 days we spent the bigger part of a day making up stories about him...again, I caused that.
:ugly:
And who could forget our very own Lamborghini owning forum member...anyone remember him?
Yes, he loved mudding in that Lambo.
Never had any pictures of it, as I can recall.
It was unrecognizable under all the mud. :P
Hmmmmm...I do remember visiting when the whole club thing-a-muh-jig was going on.
Oh my goodness, u mean there was never a guys secret forum? Oh the things girls talk about in private! Lol
Yeah I know. They talked about those things when I worked at McDonald's. I think they often forgot I was there. I learned so many things I wish I never knew. :-\
ROFL
I once went to a youth function when I was maybe 15 or 16, I was the only boy on the church van going to and from a Rally. I sat in the back row of the van, alone and in fact I lay down and the girls forgot I was there.
I took notes on what I heard that night.
One girl proclaimed that before she got married, her goal was to date every guy in the church at least 2 to 3 times. That way she could always say that she dated every guy in her church before getting married. It was her big goal! I was the only guy in the church that refused to ask her out, she flirted and put her arm around me so many times. She'd call me, sit next to me in church, sit with me at restaurants. She never got her dream.
Another girl talked about how she'd sit in front the the mirror for hours on end practicing how to sit in her short skirts.
They talked about boys and the do's and don'ts for dating, I learned all the things NOT to do on a date.
When the van ride was over, I was the last one out of the van and these girls just :eek!: :eek!: while some of them :reaction: but most of them were
The lady driving the van?   she knew I was there and wasn't saying a thing.
*** That girl with the dream of dating all those guys: She has had problems most of her life, marital issues, plastic surgery, infidelity and so much more - some things too sick to even talk about on an open forum. She is and remains one of the most shallow people I know. She is a friend, but still she is extremely shallow and always has been ***

He was your buddy...
There was a guys section...or so I heard...and we had JABS, but ditched that for various reasons around the holiday season one year.
*COUGH*
I should go check it...
*I forgot how to get to it or it doesn't exist anymore...
I think Jabs got lost when we moved from the previous server. If I remember right, no one had been there in a very long time.
I am not going to mention names, but does anyone remember our music troll?
I don't remember a guys forum, jabs, or the lambo man.
My memories of GP included Brad, AJ, Terrence (Tea) and a certain red-headed navy man. *sigh*
and of course Seth...lol

The first couple Sharings actually got heated and was part of the reason that the 20 page limit was set....the first couple were huge threads, and there were some skirmishes that broke out about something.
Ooooh, a music troll? Man, the fun I could have had with him... The fun thing about trolls is they never expect you to troll them and never recognize when you do.

That first thread slowed down the whole board. I do remember that. It was HUGE. I think JaneFan posted a great deal back then too.
I remember the meetups... And the "notebook" and blobmen, and the stargazerz, and all of the awesome people I have met from here.
This is really an awesome forum. I love the people who post here.
Ah, there's my other woman. :freaky2:
Seth thinks he has a harem...
I remember being devastated when Scott, I think, pulled the April fools and announced Godplace was being shut down.
I remember the beginning of pinkwinking. :pwink:
When we were known as upci.com and then later upci.ws - it was really crazy around here. Full of trolls and trouble makers. Then MySpace and Facebook came along and the trolls had a new bridge to live under.
I remember *sings*....Brannon and ???? sitting in a tree....*chop..chop*
I remember one year, sometime in the last 10 to 12 getting a really awesome present from a poster. I was stunned and speechless. I promised to keep it quiet, but there are some good people on here.
You're welcome.
I remember trying to help Sis Mom find a guy via a thread in singles.
And laughing in the breakfast room at Musicfest until... what was it?... 2am... something like that.
And the hotel employee getting baptized in the pool in the middle of the night at the same meetup.
And Mary making hilarious faces in The Cheesecake Factory. And Seth trying NOT to laugh at her.
And getting random personal messages from people saying they were praying for me when they had NO idea what was going on in my life. But I desperately needed the prayer.
And I remember when TL first started talking about going back to school.
And I remember when my brother had a major crush on someone from here. And then he married someone who was WAY better suited for him. (Thank God.) *lol*
And I remember stargazing. :)
And planning a wedding. Twice. And how supportive our GP friends were when we had to postpone (forawholestinkingyearandahalf). And how a bunch of GPers showed up at our wedding. (I still get teary just thinking about you all. Seriously.)
And I remember certain conversations with fellow GPers via phone and email when Officer Bob joined GP, and how we all thought it was almost eery how well he fit in with GP craziness. And how we decided we'd keep him around.
And how Melody forgave me when I forgot her birthday yesterday. *coughgringigglecough*
:beret:
Oh yeah, and I remember when we nicknamed Seth The Queen. *gigglesnort*
:beret:
I remember when I shot you repeatedly for chortling and spinning on tiptoe and rejoicing over the S word, and etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc.
I remember *waves @ Bob*
And of course....in accordance to prophecy.
You "waved at Bob" so much that you finally flagged down Roscoe....
If I had only had a dount he would have been here 3 years earlier...
I guess all the waving at Bob really was in accordance to prophecy. :o
*like*
:beret:
Let's all start waving at someone else in accordance to prophecy....
/me waves at billionaire philanthropist in accordance to prophecy. Repeatedly.
:biglaugh:
:beret:
I'd :thumbsup2: this but it would be taken wrong! lol

You're welcome.
Wasn't you chicken man. All I ever got from you was a Christmas Card at Easter time.
We once had a suicide attempt on GP 7 or 8 years ago. I just happened to log in about one minute after someone posted a Suicide Note. I tracked down the ISP, they tracked down the address and called the police. The Police go there in time to save the girls life. The Chief of Police called me the next day and told me that this girl has suicidal and had been for a while. This was not the first time they had to save her. He was going to try to get her some help after that attempt. No idea what happened after that, I just hope and hope.
There have been a few times in which I got to teach a bible to study to people via PM and at least one got baptized and I was able to follow up with that church and make sure he/she was doing well.
Once in a while I have received some startling news or confessions from people - things I cannot share publicly. Some people still post and I have not shared that info.
However I do know that Seth is in love with someone on Godplace.......

*cough*
And yes Ruby I forgive you...THIS year!
And yeah I'm older...but not for long. *cough*
I remember everyone making up lots of smileys that didn't exist on here.
:thoughtbubble:
Shoot, we still do that. :smirk47:
I decided to lurk on over to GP as I haven't been here in ages...this thread caught my eye.
I have to say, that I still cannot see a Sobe bottle without thinking of those long discussions all those years ago! Good times.
