Yuck, math.
What's wrong with math? My favorite subject, I always drove the teachers nuts because I kept working the problems out in my head when they wanted me to show the steps on paper.
I think there's something cool about math teachers though. All of them, every single math teacher I ever had, allowed us to eat candy in class, even when it was against school-wide policy.
:sing: morning has brokennnnnnnn
ouch
I don't like math. blah.
I didn't like math, but was always good at it, took alg trig calc you name it. Now I can't even add and subtract lol
I am not a fan of math either. I found out I have an 81 in that class. So I chose to take the final exam next week. We do not have to but if we do, she will drop our lowest test and replace it with the exam grade. Hoping to get my average up to an 85 at least to have a B in that class.
After this class, I have to take an Economics which I am taking in spring and an accounting next fall. Then done with math classers
Economics... ugh. Economics is spaghetti math - every year they make it up anew, by throwing numbers at the wall to see which ones will stick.
I heard a joke about one economics professor who always gave the same test to his students every year. He even had a few posted on the wall of the classroom. When someone asked why he let his students cheat like that he said they couldn't cheat... every year the correct answers were different.
Only thing that shifts more is Prob. and Stats.
:P
Yup.

Sounds like my kind of store. The Eclectic part, not the cool part. After "epsilon," "eclectic" is about the best one-word definition you can find for me. What do they sell there?
I thought epsilon was a greek letter, so are you using another meaning?
They sell furniture but they also have tons of stuff like old collectors albums. Replica posters for older bands. They have Marilyn Monroe stuff, all kinds of older odd and end stuff.
http://www.coolandeclectic.com/
The website tends to focus on the bigger stuff.
/me waves
Epsilon has a meaning as well. Lots of those old greek letters were a letter, but as a letter standing alone they had a meaning. Alpha and Omega, let's go down to the river delta, he's a typical beta male...
so... what's the definition?
Depends on whether you're a mathematician, a doctor or a scientist.
Okay, sorry... The way I use it, "efficiency."

Good morning
I have a question as dumb as it may sound
Why is it so many only think of the less fortunate at holiday time. All the clothes, food and toy drives are great but what about March, or July or September. Isn't the need year round? :-?.
Was at walmart and this lady and guy were talking in line and she was getting mad because he gave 50 to a shelter here, and his response was its christmas got to do something nice once a year.... ugh
So I guess people only need to eat once a year or need housing once a year.
It's not that so many think of the poor at this time of year. It's that this time of year is the best time to ask people for donations. If no charities took advantage of this time of year, most people would not think to give at any time.
And if you inquire too far into it, some people reverse and decide not to contribute after all...
:smirk:
oh lawd dont get me started there :yikes:

Sourdough gets the name from the yeast culture that is used to make it. The longer you let it cultivate, the more sour it tastes. Even the dough tastes a bit sour after it has risen twice and is ready for baking. Once it is baked though, sourdough bread doesn't taste very sour.
There's a lot of culture and history behind it - for a time it was the primary distinction between residents and newcomers in some colonies, the old-timers calling themselves sour-doughs to set themselves apart from the city slickers who had come in from New England and used baking soda to make their bread rise - but the full tale is far too long for a forum post.

That was actually very interesting, thank you for sharing it with me, in the next few days I plan to go in search of this bread.
Don't get it from a store, even one of those country stores. Real sourdough takes too long to be cost effective. Even in Mennonite/Amish stores they use packaged yeast, let it grow as if it was real sourdough and call it sourdough.
:paperbag:
That sounds really gross.
So how much to have some of yours shipped to me?
Do you really want to give your address to some guy you've never met before? Especially as, given the black, tall, handsome, afro-wearing image was so wrong, your judgment of guys online is somewhat questionable?
Ouch! I'm a little blonde acting at times but honestly I was plannning on giving out Mel's address... It keeps me safe and if anything happens her dad's death mobile is sitting in the yard..
Seeing as I've given myself a bad image the last time I was on, I think I will try to do better in the future, I'm not great at joking and my attempts seem to have been fatal.
Thank you sir for so kindly opening my eyes to my mistakes.
Besides, Chel & I will vouch for him... he's harmless. ;)
For the record, the statement about Mel's address was a joke, good day.
Death mobile? I'm afraid to ask...
I'm sure Mel appreciates your safety tactics. :-?
And yes, I knew it was a joke. I was joking in return. No harm done, and none intended from me.
Death mobile = The van we haul bodies in. Harmless really.
It's ok Kmymbir, you do not have a bad image.
I knew you were joking psalm, no harm here, besides people have met you and come back alive. I think I'll be alright I was just showing you my split personality! :Halo:
*raises one brow* Mellow have you looked at my profile picture?
*shakes head and sighs* I'm a sad case I see where that image can be misleading, I don't think I'd trust any one missing teeth and wearing scotch tape on their glasses, I look like a hobo. hehe.
I just wanna say that I know you IRL and that pic doesn't really even look like you. Lol

:toetap: Excuse me? I'm missing teeth, and I've been known to wear scotch-taped sunglasses. So I'm not trustworthy, eh?? :argue:
I also am missing teeth, and I have been known to tape a pair of glasses as an emergency fix. But then... I wouldn't trust me either, and I know me. >.>
Now myself, that's a different matter. I'd trust myself with anything. I just wouldn't trust me. In fact, I and myself just avoid me as much as possible these days.
Mel how dare you say that to me!! :pound: :pound:
I would like to say that I do look like myself! May have put on a tad bit of weight but who hasn't? (*make note that if you are one of the few people losing weight you are not allowed to respond* :ugly:)
I must make an exception for certain people in overalls holding Dr. Pepper and eating BBQ! You probably make duct tape and gnawing look stylish.
I will have to ask my Disorder Analyst about your case though psalm. Your situation is a bit different from my own. :loopy:

:P
where do I go on here for some emergency youth help?
I'm teaching my first lesson!
Youth... children? Teenagers? 3-6, 7-12, 13-18 age?
LOL Kmymbir, I can't wait to meet you! Hahaha
:couch:
The group is 13-18 but we also have a few young people with special needs that are over 18.
I have a sunday school class, I'm use to teaching children, but teens are different.
I'm not sure how to get on an open level where they will have fun and learn.
I am to teach them about prayer, I have a prayer wheel lined up, I even have the message.
But I can't seem to adjust it to the proper level. I've had to start over so many times!
I'm making each of them a copy of the prayer wheel.
Tomorrow evening will be my deadline to have this stuff finished.
The fact that I'm extremely nervous is getting on my nerves I know these kids!
At some point I'm also suppose to lead them on a prayer journey which I have never done.
But I am still praying on that...
*cough* WE have a Sunday school class. *cough*
Can't let you take all the credit for that! ;)
Love you Mymbir!
Sorry chick girl, I was simplying updating as quick as possible, seeing as I'm basically your assistant.
Thats what assistants do, we short hand lol

Can't decide what to do today. I had too much fun and coffee yesterday. We had an older couple over for lunch after church. You know, those couples that you just want to scoop up and take care of while their grown children are off busy or live far away? We haven't heard all their stories, they enjoy relaxing and sometimes a casual game, and are full of knowledge. They are so sweet.
Next week, my Bible study family and then I'm finished formally teaching them. It'll be time for a new one with someone else. Our focus for the year at our church is:
Expansion 2012.
ISA 54:1-3
1. Expand your tent - vision
2. Lengthen the cords - relationship building for unity, strength & discipleship
3. Strengthen the stakes - doctrine & discipleship
4. You will expand to right and left (evangelism)
5. Your children will inherit the nations - multicultural revival
Something broke in the spiritual in KC last week during a prayer mtg. Everyone had stories about God opening doors to witness. It's crazy! I'm NOT a small talk person, I hate it, it's so awkward. Introductions are very uncomfortable for me, just tell me who ya really are, what makes ya tick, and you've got a friend for life. ☺ Too bad it doesn't work like that... LOL
Last Tuesday I was cashing my church cleaning check and the teller said she went to the church across the highway. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0OOWl3r_ruY (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0OOWl3r_ruY)) :-? I asked her about their Thursday thru Sunday church and if they were all reg. services or Bible studies. She said just services. Somehow, I don't even know how! that we have a few Filipinos in our church came up. She is F. also, and she just looked at me, :o Like that. I wish I knew what she was thinking. We talked about Sis.Lettie's eggrolls and how she takes care of her parents now so I have not been to an authentic Filipino party though I've spent time with her family. I mentioned our World Missions conf. and how fun it is. I didn't invite her to church. She said she should come visit. I said, "Yeah! :)"
I walked away thinking that was amazing. Then Sunday, I heard a ton more stories. God's doing something in KC!
Oh and like 5 other people also had to go and buy cars on Saturday. weird. I've never had that happen before... lol Musta been a car demon attacking.

Who says it doesn't work?
says the grown man who is too paranoid to show his identity.
lol I thought I was posting in sharing. :chairspin:
I have shared my identity with some. I gave my address to someone just last night so something could be sent to me. Which reminds me, I need to get off this swivel chair and go mail a check.
And yeah, that did seem a bit longer than the normal posts we get in this thread. Too much coffee no doubt. Or maybe just too strong.
lovely for them. Irrelevant to me.
Lovely for me as well, I get a soundboard cover. And perhaps something else, the person is trying to see if it will work out... if it does, when I get it I might post a pic of me modeling it.
that would be fun.

Or maybe not. The bank AND post office are shut down because someone had a birthday today. But I still must report to work today. Why do they get so many more days off?
Facebook is showing me more and more how stuck up and so full of themselves some "christians" can be. The block button is becoming more and more handy lately

GF oreos are not the same. just sayin'
Roscoe: No, you probably wouldn't believe it even if you saw it. The new project isn't the kind of thing most people would wear, at least not intentionally.
Wait, what? ON? um... I retract the word fun from my response... lol It may be traumatic.

You'll see it if/when I get it. We're not even sure it will work out yet.

SPAM stands for something!
In 1937, in Austin, Minnesota, the Hormel Company developed the first canned meat product that did not require refrigeration. Made of chopped pork shoulder and ham (a cut from the pig's buttock and thigh), it was marketed simply as "Hormel Spiced Ham." The public's response was anticlimactic. Other companies developed their own canned meats, and Hormel's product was soon at risk of getting lost in the shuffle. To save the day, a decision was made to offer a prize to the person who could think up a catchy new name. The winning entry was "Spam". Several versions of the name's meaning are in circulation - the two most credible are: It's a blend of "spice" and "ham," and it stands for "Shoulder of Pork and Ham." What is known for certain is that Kenneth Daigneau, a Broadway actor - and the brother of a Hormel vice president - submitted "Spam." As the contest winner, he was given a prize of $100.
Today Spam is iconic. It is still an inexpensive source of protein that can stretch a budget; yet it is "famous" enough to have spawned fan clubs and cookbooks. It is known (sometimes by reputation and sometimes by taste) by Americans of all ages. As is fitting an icon, its packaging was accepted into the Smithsonian. And if you travel to Austin, Minnesota, you can visit the Spam Museum, opened in 2001. You will be welcomed by a variety of interactive and educational games, exhibits, and video presentations, all singing the praises of Spam, Spam, Spam, Spam....

Whoa...and now I didn't know my post was up there and I posted that again.
I'm confused.
I usually do it the other way around. I think of something I want to post, then for some reason I think I've already posted it, but it turns out I haven't. And my post count hasn't altered since I thought I posted it, so nobody is running around behind my back deleting posts... I just plain forgot to post it.

I'm not cool
No no, I know you know that. It's a song by Scott Krippayne. Just now getting back to working on it.
I like that song.
You can't sing it though. You have to be a nerd, or otherwise uncool to legitimately sing it. I, on the other hand, am in a perfect position to sing that song. :D
Speaking of being a nerd, Linux Mint 12 rocks! Just saying.
I can sing it, just not very well... but I can't sing ANYTHING very well. ;)
I am locking this topic.
Frankly I forgot which page I had it scheduled for.
