Well someone had to start it. I kept waiting all through page 18, we're more than halfway through page 19 and nobody has jumped the gun yet. So I did.
QuoteHurricanes, earthquakes... how did you ever stand it when she told you where she was planning to go?
I didn't like that she was going to Haiti. I didn't feel good about it at all. I actually asked her not to buy her ticket yet and really pray about it. I don't usually feel that way. This was different than the usual motherly apprehension. She did as I asked but still felt like she should go, so the only thing to do is trust that God has his reasons and if something comes up, he'll take care of her even better than I could if she were right beside me. Lots of things seem to come down to trust, don't they?

I have a headache on top of a sinus headache, apparently I somehow caught whatever biological weapon Seth is spreading cause my stomach feels like it is trying to claw it's way out of my abdomen, and I still have a ton of junk to do tonight and nothing is cooperating.

Well. I should go to bed. I have cows you depend on me in the morning. I might be doing a double tomorrow...Say a quick prayer that the new guy works out and I don't have to :-)
Night Night ya'll!
Pray for me. I am considering beating my wife severly. :teeth: She left me with the princess while she went to a school meeting. The important part is, she promised to be quick and bring me back dinner. Now I'm starving and she's not home yet. And more importantly for me, NEITHER IS MY FOOD!!! :pound: :pound:
Just checking in. Just found out today that APB got the time approved to take off to go on vacation with me in 3 weeks. I'm pumped!!
Looooooooorrrrrrrddddddd........help meeeeeeee.
I just showed up and surprised MEL in Florida
:smirk:
another project has gotten the better of me. I had this unique fabric that my uncle gave my mom, from cambodia or somewhere, thats been sitting in the sewing bin awaiting inspiration so today I figured I'd make a 2-layer wrap-around skirt..... I've been working on it all afternoon/evening... I still have the waistband and buttons and I'm too exhausted at this point to finish it :sadbounce:
also, whoever named the activity sewing was very misleading, most of it is measuring, pinning, ironing and cutting... sewing is a small fraction of what it takes to make material into clothing or whatever.
I also can't fit my radiator cover back on and when I tried to shove it in there it scraped off some of my new paint job. :smirk2:

YES she did! I love that girl!
Why is it that the day before something wonderful and exciting is suppose to happen, seem to be the most stressful?
Life on planet Earth, I guess. :smirk2:
Well, I ate a nasty salad this evening....it didn't even taste appealing AT ALL....yuck....and, I think it lies largely to blame for aggravating my guts again...oy vey.... :freaky:
Earlier I was out tending the remaining parts of the evening fowl duties, and moving around made my belly hurt, and I was tired, so I sat down a little in the garage...and I was so sleepy I was like, I could just lay down and go to sleep.....
And so I did...I climbed in the back of the car in the garage and took a nap for an hour. :smirk2:
Then I got up and alternated between going to the bathroom and feeding/watering fowl until I was done with the rounds.....
I need to pack some eggs to ship..... I don't want to stand up and do it. I just want to sit or lay quietly. :P And try not to have to :flush: too often. :P
Somethng feels wrong
Seth has passed his bird flu/ect to Arkansas apparently. Either that or God is getting even with me for thinking about beating Lou. I woke up this morning to find it storming- not outside, but in my tummy. I feel sick! Actually thought about calling in, which I never do. Hope I feel better as the day goes, as right now if you shot me it'd be a blessing.

Went to town, had lunch at Red Lobster, cause I had a gift card good there or a couple other places.... Man, my fish I ordered looked so homely and pitiful. lol I was expecting a big fillet, and it was like 3 little pieces that looked almost like what you would throw back if you caught it when you went fishing. lol
It tasted alright though.... Anyhoo.....
Dropped eggs at the PO - which I might add, were for one of the losers that bought on Ebay, then never paid, and then on the last day before I could just close the case and get the selling fee back, they pay out of no where... Never communicated with me at all.... I don't know what they're problem is. If you buy something perishable and time sensitive like eggs, you have to know what you're doing, dipwads....ugh. Stupid people.
Went through the bank drive thru before lunch with a church deposit too.
Then after the lunch and PO then went to drop off a church phone bill payment and get some feed. Going across town and out west was horrendous....construction, and IU. LANDS.
Would've got gas out at Ellettsville too but they were lined up at the Swifty cause it was 3.48 and everywhere else was 3.79.... I didn't want to wait in that mess, so thought I'd swing back down by Sam's and see, and it was 3.47, so yay anyway.....
Home.
Had bacon & eggs & cheese and toast.

And in sharing- ISG, you came to mind today. A coworker was telling me a day or so ago that her dad has a Jersey cow that he milks for family use. She was telling me that she had made butter from the fresh milk and had extra cream left and offered to bring me some. Today she brought me a quart of fresh cream and a goodly bit of butter. I couldn't wait to get home and see if it was as good as I remembered. It was. :fork: I used some of the cream to make some instant banana cream pudding- I wanted to make chocolate, but didn't have time or the instant chocolate pudding. Man.......a whole new level of heaven.... I wonder if I can beg her to bring me more? :fork:

Careful, don't make me put you on my haunt list to prove myself. I'm terrifying. Trust me.
I finished sewing my skirt tonight, wore it to go get the mail and already got compliments :teeth:
I've been waiting for the doctor to call me with blood test results for two weeks... got a letter in the mail tonight with all the results, but its just numbers that mean nothing to me. I don't know why they can't stamp it "living" or "dying" and let me know how I'm doing. :pound: I tried to google some of it but it just came up with stuff like me dying of kidney disease and I'd hope the doctor would call to tell me that personally
Either that or I'm dead and already beginning to haunt you :up2:
Daggone, worthless doctors.
Tended fowl.
Dear Lord...so remember my story that my parents couldn't eat cause I was gone a lot a couple of weeks ago and I didn't cook? Yeah.
So I get home today, and I turned around and left again...went to prayer and Walmart and stuff...well I just walked in the door a few mins ago and was putting stuff away in the kitchen (that is stacked with dishes BTW, nothing has been washed since I left on Friday) and I asked dad what all they have eaten and cooked since I left...his answer? Ramen noodles. Mom has eaten yogurt, and snack stuff, and dad lived off of ramen noodles, KNOWING that he shouldn't eat that much sugar/starchy foods cause of his diabetes. OY.
And the garbage is over flowing, and little bugs flying all around, and something STINKS! I thought it was the garbage, but no, the chicken I cooked for them on Friday before I left, the crockpot has moldy stinky chicken water in it and it's been SITTING THERE SINCE FRIDAY!!!
*SCREAMS*
I am so horrified! They really apparently liturally CANNOT function without me keeping the kitchen cleaned and the food cooked?
Really? Really?
*sigh*
/rant.
Now I suppose I'll go set the crock pot liner outside at least so it can quit stinking up the kitchen. And I'll take the garbage out. The rest I can deal with tomorrow. OY.
That's really absolutely pitiful.
Yeah I know. :smirk2:
Wow, Mel.
I am so discusted right now. I mean I know it's my parents, and I shouldn't feel the way I do right this second...but thats just it...they are my PARENTS! We are supposed to be adults here. Sometimes I feel like I am the only adult.
I don't really blame Dad for it as much as mom, cause dad works. He busts his rear daily, even being disabled, he struggles to even breathe most days cause of his lung damage, and Lord knows he can't walk correctly cause of all the toes he has lost, but he goes out and makes a living to keep us living comfortably in a nice place...but Mom...*sigh* she never goes anywhere and she lays in bed all day and we basically do everything for her cause she WON'T.
And before I left, we had a talk and I asked her to PLEASE make sure that Dad gets proper food cooked for him, cause left on his own he eats junk and will end up back in the hospital. And she TOLD me she would! And then she doesn't.
I'm upset. Very upset.
I feel like I can't even go off for a few days and trust that my Daddy will be properly taken care of! That's pitiful coming from a house that three adults live in.
*SIGH*
Your description reminds me of an apartment at the apartment complex I worked at for a short time years ago.... It was just filthy with trash piled up, open cans of food, gnats all over, nasty crud all in the kitchen like that.
Maybe Ma and Pa Bush are just hoping to try out for Hoarders: Buried Alive. lol :P
Well...at least the garbage is out and the crock pot liner is out now. It smells better at least. I sprayed some Lysol in there, so that helped a lot too.
I gotta get something to eat too. After I get over the stink. Lol
And the Abilify commercial is on now.
Is that the one with the blob?
Indeed.
Goodnight.
I must sleep. Tomorrow will be better.
Mel: Wow. Just um... wow! Your mamma better not meet my mamma, mine would lay down the law. :P
Five-oh, you don't have any cocoa in the house? Surely you could make homemade chocolate pudding with that cream. And being homemade, with that fresh cream, it would taste ever so heavenly.
Morning, all. It's my friday! :waving: Be glad to have tomorrow off of work. And Isaac, I had some cocoa, but I didn't have time to dig out my receipe book and all the ingredients and make it. I wanted instant gratification, and I got it. :fork:

Instant pudding will be the downfall of our society, I just know it. Blech!
I like pies and puddings better than cakes so I know the recipe by heart. 2 cups milk, one stick butter, 3/4 cup sugar, 1/4 cup cocoa, 2 eggs.
Now I'm going to go off and cry because I don't have any fresh cream to try with it. :(
The dishes were not as big a deal to me as the crock pot chicken water that STANK, and the garbage with all the bugs. I fully expected the dishes to be piled up. I was ready for that. Mom and Dad both NEVER EVER EVER do dishes. I was just appalled that she didn't at least dump the nasty chicken water out of the crock pot. And dad normally takes out the garbage...it's like they shut down after I left. Idk what happened.
Mel-Mel and I are going to put all of our parents in a home. :smirk2:

Yes, come to the light. The dark side ran out of cookies.
So angry!! Something "made a kitten disappear." I don't want to go into details that I had to endure with it all because I am still finding it very disturbing. Tonight I heard a pack of what sounded like dogs or wolves or coyotes yelping like they were coming near the house. I ran out on the porch in my pajamas yelling. I still feel awful about that poor baby. :( I don't think it's ok just to let anythin happen when you hear it. We also have cattle to worry about!
Kittens should not be made to disappear! If my kitten disappeared I would come unglued and do violent things to local wildlife.
Morning!
Headed to keep Livi today! Yesterday she turned two years old! She is getting to be a big girl, not so much a baby anymore. :sadbounce:

Howdy. I'm glad it's Friday.
Man, this morning is absolutely beautiful here in Oklahoma. It was 69 degrees, perfect "drive slow and stick your elbow out the window" kinda day. Also wearing overalls today too. My day is great so far.
Done everyone get excited and post all at once...
Oh, c'mon now...."stick your 'elbow' out the window"...riiiight. We all know you had your head out the window with your tongue lolling out of your mouth....
Eating....brunch, or whatever it is at this hour.... Tended fowl.
Fellowship meeting at Hope tonight.
We don't have our internet up at the new house yet, so I'm at the library for a quick moment and I couldn't miss, stopping in.
Miss all the hum drum of here. ☺
Andrew's first week of school has been going great. Now to buy the gazillion things he needs for projects, ect.
I gotta run but think of you all often and miss hearing Seth's near death episodes.
Missions Conference is this weekend. I'll post pics if I can remember. It's Nathan and my first year to put on the Intn'l Expo with the service. He's doing an awesome job you guys. He really has been over it and I have helped but now that it's down to the wire I, he's said next year he needs me more. It pays to be a quiet wife people. ☺

Apparently there is a neighborhood cat here and thinks that we will follow suit and feed it. Ummm... no. A day or so ago, it wouldn't go away so I dumped vinegar on it's head. I think that did the trick. ☺
Combing through my belongings...have to trash it or put it in the garage sale. So ready to downsizeee!

Glad you enjoyed my song.... You should play that at your wedding for when you walk down the aisle. LOL :P
You could tuck a bicycle horn into your bouquet of balloons and honk it as you make your way down the aisle.... ;)
Taco's Belle - cute...lol
Just cleaned the aviary, at least for the most part, didn't do a full wash of all the perches , but cleaned out the litter, cleaned the glass, cleaned the food dishes and such.... Separated out some of the young finches that are ready to go cause somebody wants to buy some, thank God, I'm over run. :freaky:
Gotta get ready to go to church pretty soon. Lord.
Hi All! :waving: It's been a great day. I've an older friend who has somewhat adopted me that hardly ever goes out and about. He's in his sixties, retired cop, and just a really good guy that also happens to be a car nut.... After dropping Chey off for school, I met up with him and we took off in his Corvette for the day. We had a blast- ran around back roads, tormented a guy with a slow Mustang, went to the local Harley shop, drooled over classic cars at a classic car dealership, nearly bankrupted an unsuspecting IHOP :fork: - just had a regular old field trip for men. Then when we got back to his house, we tinkered around with his '46 Mercury and got it running. :thumbsup2: We both agreed it was one of the best days we'd had in a bit.
Now I'm at home with the most beautiful girls in the world, drinking a cold Dr. Pepper. Life could not be better!
I've been singing Rock You Like A Hurricane and Come On Irene (Eileen) all day.... :sing: :sing: :sing:
everyone is frea king out. its kinda adorable. and kinda annoying.
and I discovered water damage in my apartment last night, who knows what the hurricane torrent will do to it... oh well :smirk2:
Hmmm, I might have acquired a bit of a reputation...
I'm on lunch break. Came home to get a USB cable because I forgot to charge this music player and the battery died before first break. My grandmother asked why I came home and I told her about the music player dying. She asked, "So are you on break or did you just leave?" I said, "On lunch break. What, you think I'd just clock out and leave over this?"
She said, "Knowing you and your music, maybe. Who knows?" :smirk2:
Quote from: MsJennJenn on August 26, 2011, 07:14:46 PMYea I'm not afraid of cats...I just don't like them. They're nasty!
Exactly.
Went to Hope. Bill went with me.
Thought the po-po was gonna get me on the way back, for no good reason.... Coming along down the highway, the blue lights pop on in my rearview....and I'm in the church van mind you...lol... So I pull over, thinking, what? Why? Cause I was actually behind a car that was going slow and I wasn't even going as fast as the speed limit....
But I pull over and, there's no cop.....I guess he just popped the lights on to get me to get out of his way, cause after I pulled to the shoulder and all the traffic behind me was passing on down the road, and I was looking behind me to make sure he wasn't back there so I wouldn't pull out and "flee the scene" lol, lo and behold, he's ahead on down the road with somebody stopped.
So anyways, I was glad he wasn't after me. lol
Came home, tended fowl and all that crud.
Beautiful morning here. 66 degrees! I have all the windows open. Feels like fall...
Lord. I think I was drugged.
Seriously, I feel like it.
I came home last night about 9, and I only vaguely remember changing clothes and laying on the bed. The next thing I knew, I was awake this morning. I don't remember turning out the light, or taking my contacts out, or anything. And I have a call on my phone that I apparently answered and dont remember either. It was at 12:30, and from Justin, and I guess we talked. I'll have to ask him what we talked about cause I sure don't remember.
Now I feel groggy and still sleepy.
I'm telling you I must have been drugged somehow. :o
Have you received any care packages from Melodya lately?
Well, I cooked my eggs in olive oil because it appeared we're out of fake butter, and it's a bit much...bleh... Maybe just used a tad much....have used it before but it seems like I can taste it this time.
Oh well....Guess I can pray over it and anoint my innerds while I'm at it. :smirk2:
Howdy y'all. Gonna be a big ole day for me. I have a laptop, a spare hard drive I swapped out, and a copy of Windows XP to install. Spare hard drives are great, you can install whole different operating systems without having to worry about messing up the bootloader. Then install drivers, programs, then make a backup image of the whole thing so I'll never have to do it again.
The "I'll never have to do it again" part is the major draw here. :D
:hi:
Went out to sell guineas...and something flew into the back of my neck and stung me minorly....
I hope I'm alright. I'm not allergic to stings. But, being the hypochondriac that I am, anytime I get stung I spend the next several hours waiting to die. :smirk2:
So I feel like my throat is swelling shut...especially since it was on the back of my neck....
When in actually, my throat looks just fine and is wide open.
:smirk2:
Take a benedryl and a nap.
OH MY LORD, now you ARE trying to kill me. :freaky:
I won't take Benedryl anymore. They make me feel like I am dying. They make me feel like the systems in my body are just slowly grinding to a halt and like my heart might just stop beating at any given moment.
No thanks.
Poor Cheese. I actually worked a call one time where a young man of 19 had an allergic reaction to something and died. His throat had swelled shut and he was gone before we could get medical help there. Sad.
And in sharing- I've been out cleaning up the yard of the remains of my late dogwood tree. :cry2: I REALLY loved that tree, but apparently life was too much for it. We cut it down yesterday- or most of it. The top branches were dry and dead, but the lower one third appeared to still be alive. I spoke with a neighbor who enjoys gardening, and he said that it *might* recover if we simply topped it and left a stump around four feet tall.... I don't have much hope for it, but it's worth a try, as it was showing some green shoots from the lower part of it.
And I also went to town and got a tire on the truck. I had to argue with Walmart- they told me when I brought the truck in that they had the tire I needed for $61. I tell them to put it on and I go shopping. Thay called me back to the tire area to tell me they didn't have the tire after all, but had one for $71. They asked me if I wanted it. I said yes- for $61. I told them that they had sold me a tire for that amount and that's what I was going to pay. Had to talk with a manager, but he agreed with me and gave me the higher priced tire for $61.
Then, Chey and I went to the library where I turned in some over due books. Don't know why they were so annoyed- I just borrowed them in June.....of 2006. :laughhard: Hey, I brought 'em back.
Fixing to start making dinner preparations and finish the yard..... :waving:
Well thanks for telling me that uplifting story, Officer.

You're quite welcome. You sounded as though you could use the cheering. :teeth:
And on the tree height comment- :pound: Come help me haul away the branches you lazy oaf. I'm doing that AND cooking dinner- chicken breast in alabama "white bbq sauce".... I'd never heard of such a thing until Taco, Mini and I were conversing of bbq. Taco told mini about it, mini got curious and found a receipe online and sent it to me and I'm trying it. Sauce is done- think of a thinner tanger ranch dressing, kinda. Might be a keeper. Think I'll add garlic mashed tators to the menu, and maybe some ranch beans.....
Sounds good.
One of my favorite bbq places is having a special tonight. Every dinner is 1/2 price. So we are meeting friends over there and gonna chow down!
Today turned out to be a crazy day. Was fixing to leave out and head to the church to do some work, when my phone rang. A jet had a problem and "flamed out", ie, the engine died. That was 20 miles east of the airport, and at 11,000 feet. He made it to the airport fine, but had no brakes when he landed. They operated off of hydraulic pressure, so, no engine, no hydraulic pressure. Oh, and and his gear collapsed when he landed. Again, they operated off hydraulic pressure...so...no engine, no gear. This is what I found:
No one was hurt, thank goodness. And the pilot did a perfect landing, given the situation. He wasnt to worried about the jet either. It was only $30,000 (very very cheap). So hes gonna go buy another one...LOL
That's um... cheap, yes. I know of a lot of cars that cost more.

Colloquialisms?!? Lawd, I almost had to look that up. :laughhard: Sadly- I'm country enough, that's just the way I talk. I don't even notice when I say some of these things- I thought everybody said 'em. I grew up around more old folks than I did people my own age. Guess I get some of the sayings from them. :teeth:
"Yep that looks as pretty as a little red wagon going up a hill."
"What does that mean?"
"Ah that's just something you city folk expect us country folk to say." :smirk2:
All joking aside, colloquialisms are prevalent in this area. She's as mad as an ole wet hen, he looks like a cat who just ate all the cream (smug), this place is a pigsty (messy) or this place is so clean you could eat off the floor. Or if it is really messy, it's so clean you could eat off the floor - and get a good five or six meals.

We are moved in but not all unpacked. The kids love the yard, so does little Ollie dog. We've ate too much fast food this week. I feel gross.
I can't remember if I've ever heard Bro.Bernard speak in person. He's preaching tomorrow & Bro. Markham is doing the SS hour. Sherry missionaries are also having their munchkin dedicated in there. What a lucky kid!
Ok, so the booths are built, painted, tables & center pieces done, foodware prepared for 300 ppl, clothes layed out, 99% of ;)delegation done, menus & tickets printed out...
And I realize @ 1am, I spelled dessert wrong. I am not reprinting & curing out 300 more by 6 am. Every body's just going to know I'm practically illiterate. ;)

I did dream about GP peoples again last night. Dreamed that Sandra was our next door neighbor, and I got invited over for breakfast, and I went over and met Dina, Ben, Talia, and Clarence...and Jenn. Haha Chel wasn't home, she was off on one of her trips, but Jenn and I got to hang out, and then Dion showed up. We all had a great time, then they all left me and went to church. :(
Weird.
What'd they have for breakfast?
And who'd Dion?
w2cch and such.
Present and accounted for. Sorry you are feeling bad, Mel. As for me- life is good, and it is a beautiful day. Managed to type up a thought that worked me over a bit on the way to work, and made it halfway coherent. I even posted it in the devotions thread, which I never do, because I feel some of the thoughts that I get are so juvenile that I must be the only one that God has to be so elementary with. :biglaugh:

Well that guy was nuts.
I had sent him info and pics of what I had - he was looking for a rooster....and he said young was alright...so he saw beforehand what I said I had. Got here, looked at them, said they were too young, and left. Duh, dude. What in the world did you expect? That I was going to magically age some about 3 or 4 months overnight?
That was weird. I was just like. Ooooookay.
I've still got that stupid stray bantam, he's older and I pointed him out, but he acted like he had no interest in it at all.
So, okay, whatever. Wasted his own time on that one.
He actually left me speechless. When he said I didn't have anything old enough for him, I just stood there speechless, didn't say another word.....
Lord.
I'm sure speechless was a very akward feeling for you.
Well, it was in this case....I didn't even know what to say...seriously, I didn't even say anything else. He wasn't hateful or anything, but I was just shocked, cause I was very clear in what I told him I had.... The pics of the little ones I showed him were with my holding them in my hand, so it wasn't like something that you would have thought it was bigger in person that it appeared.... I just didn't know what to say.... Sorry? Thanks anyways? Well, get out of here then you moron?
lol
It was weird.
I think I'm gonna try a powernap. Somebody supposedly is going to call me in a while and come for quail....we'll see.
K....so I took a short nap....the quail people showed up....

:waving: Busy today.Haven't had time to yak. Hope everyone had a great day!
I'm messed up.
Took a nap, dreamed kinda crazy I guess you could say.... Was COLD when I got up...put on a jacket....got hot, took off the jacket....
I'm sleep deprived, I have been keeping bad hours lately....argh....
I'm malnourished.
Help meeeeeeeee.......
I'm going to starve to death with a full stomach....everything I eat is disgusting.

Seth go to a part of the supermarket you don't usually visit. Fruits, ice cream, maybe the canned veggies... somewhere you don't usually go and look around for something interesting that you might want to try. From what you relate of your dietary habits you don't get a lot of fruit - try some.
P.S. If nothing else, try eating ten peaches at a time. You might not feel better for a while, but when it's all over you'll be one cleaned-out dude. ;)
Or at least take a vitamin & eat plenty if yogurt. Those cultures boost your digestion. Or fast. Everything tastes awesome again after a fast.. Lol
I can't wait to get the internet hooked up here so I can visit more with u all. Hope everybody's doing good. Mel, dreaming a lot lately aren't u? Hmmmm... :)
Glad you're keep keepin' on, Seth. I imagine you sing a lot of old african spiritual songs to help u press on in this life of a trial.
Hi, everyone. :waving: Back at work, one day closer to the weekend. Got busy yesterday and just barely had time to pop in to see what crazyness everyone was up to. It's good to see it is life as usual. I also see that a former poster checked in.... hate that I missed the chance to "meet" her.

Umm... This is not a bad thing now that u are getting married. Things are going to change. Let it happen naturally. Don't be offended, use it. Often it's the bride that loses time & some interest in her friends because that is how much marriage will take up more of your life & there is hurt feelings. Minimize the drama, even if it's just irritation in your own head, by being thankful.

I know some people who have no friends. They are all cranky people who seem to view life as one big trial that one must endure. I do not know whether the attitude caused the friends to leave or the lack of friends caused the attitude, but people without friends always seem to be grumpy. To fully enjoy life it appears one must have friends with whom to share it.
I'm moving three hours from those girls. I mean, I know they're not conniving to leave me out, haha...would have just appreciated the thought. Haha. Oh well!!
Today's cleanup day for my closet! Gotta get rid of the stuff I don't or can't wear. This is gonna be harder than cleaning up the other stuff haha. Only thing harder to get rid of than clothes? My shoes!!
Friends is my biggest fear about moving there. My only friends there are literally his family and him. His cousin is a couple of years younger than me, and I do like her. She's also married so that's a couple we will hang out with. I'm just used to having more than just a couple of friends, haha. I know I'll make some after being there, but Jeremy teased me that I sounded like a kindergartener on the first day of school worrying about friends. It's just weird!! Haha.. Oh, he also has a sister and she's near our age too.. We just haven't hung out much. Hopefully we can be pretty good friends haha

I totally get what you're saying.
Jenn, if I am not wrong (and I VERY well could be lol), I don't think she was saying that you don't need friends after marriage at ALL...but, just maybe that, b/c marriage is such a huge change in yor life, you tend to lose contact w/ the current friends you have and therefore thier feelings get hurt in the process. In Nell's case, IF they are already being the ones to distance themselves first, then she doesn't have that to worry about.
I most def need friends now that I am married- you know that firsthand guh! lol. Though my hubby is my best friend, you've helped through a lot of 'lonely' times. Times that my hubby, b/c he IS a man lol, just couldn't "get" if you kwim.

I totally understand the friends thing. I hated leaving my friends when I moved from Florida. And all I had was family here too. I knew people here, but they were not my FRIENDS. but now, I have more friends than I have time for sometimes, and it's awesome! It was scary, but I made it, and actually I am a much better person because of the quality of friends I have now. My Florida friends were not bad ones, but for everything God has seasons and reasons, and it was time for me to change everything in order for me to be able to grow.

That is exactly what I'm saying! I never said friends aren't still essential, or that it doesn't still HURT. Transition can be bittersweet, it helps to know that you can let it happen & not try to fight fore both lifestyles because then relationships suffer more.

I'm having an issue.
Seth... You need to eat that yogurt that helps your digestive system. I doubt it could hurt you ha. But I have my own issues with my digestive system, so I get ya. Hope you feel better ASAP with no reoccurrences.
Started going thru my clothes. Hasn't been TOO hard yet. I have a hard time finding a reason NOT to keep clothes haha.
The issue was like a spasm thing...or something...that's what I call it.... :smirk2:
Well....made through another day. Only wanted to choke someone once....okay, maybe twice. Once was when the tire salesman gave me the price. The second was the same salesman, nearly 8 hours later. Took the car in at 7:30, told them I needed two tires and an alignment. I told them no hurry, I'd be back at 3 pm to pick it up. I get there at three, the guy gives me a panicked look and shoot to the back of the shop. Then he starts to put the Caddy on the alignment rack. All day, and he couldn't do that?!?! I told him to forget about the alignment. That's $50 he won't ever see.
Oh, and had good church tonight. And tomorrow is my friday. Life is good. :thumbsup2:
Tired. We had company again tonight.
You always have company.
If you'd be a crusty old hermit like me you wouldn't have to worry about those unwanted guests.
I didn't say they were unwanted, just tiring.
Then you wanted to be tired, so don't gripe about getting what you wanted.
:-?
:P
:hi:
Gonna go unload and reload the dishwasher, and then lay out some sauce to put in the crock pot tomorrow for mom and Dads supper. I'm keeping Olivia, and I don't want them to starve. I trust mom can boil some noodles. Lol
I'm tired.
I went shopping for the Youth room snack bar tonight after prayer...spent $67 on those kids. Luckily we are making a killin on all the snacks we sell them!
;)
five-oh: A caddy, a miata and a restored old vintage truck... You like the good ones eh? ;)
Mel: A snack bar in the youth room? Now... why didn't I think of that? *goes off to call his youth pastor.
Fuzzy: If you get too tired send them over here. Any friends of y'all's gotta be worth meeting.
Yep. We sell water, sodas, snack cakes, snack crackers, pop tarts, and no single item is over .50 we totally make our money back, and then some, and the kids at church, and a lot of adults too, eat stuff out of it every time the doors are open. We REALLY need a small freezer up there, then I would buy Hot Pockets and Toaster Strudels and make a real profit! The kids LOVE that stuff! But all we have is a small fridge, and we have a microwave for popcorn when we have LOL night.
Every so often (about every three weeks) I empty the cash box and make a list of stuff we are running low on, and head to the store. Today, the cash box had $79 in it, so I took $70, and ended up spending $67. So we are WELL stocked! And we have a big weekend this weekend, so we will need it!
Also, we have a dry erase board on the wall, and the kids are allowed a $2 tab. This is so if they don't have any money, they won't be left out when every one else is snacking. If they are over their limit, they cannot tab anything, they have to pay for whatever they get. Some parents pre-pay their kids tab, and let them have a credit. If they use it all up though, and tab their $2 they are stuck.
It works for us. Haha.
Hot pockets? What are you trying to do, poison them?
Now if you had a micro freezer you could sell those freezer pops, the ones that come as liquid in a long plastic tube and you freeze them. Sell them for a quarter a piece - kids would pay it, and you'd make a killing.
About the hot pockets... I'll just say this: Once a year I eat a hot pocket and a fast food burger. This is to remind me to appreciate the good food I get all the rest of the year. It takes two days for my stomach to forgive me for eating it.
Our kids beg for Hot Pockets! And Toaster Strudel. We sometimes get that stuff anyway on LOL nights. Along with hot cocoa packets.
And if we had the freezer, I would make and sell pickle pops! They LOVE them! We get the big jars of pickles up there for them in the cooler months. We don't do it in the summer, cause we have to have the air off most of the week, and we have to get stuff that won't ruin in the heat.
The pickles taste funny after a few weeks up there in the heat, so I decided to only carry them in the winter.
In other news: Why is it when some people are in a bad mood they think it gives them license to inflict their bad mood on anyone around them? It's as though if anyone dares to say anything to the person when he is in a bad mood, that person is automatically the stand-in for the cause of his bad mood and fair game for chewing out.
Rephrase: I guess the root question is why is it when some people are in a bad mood they yell so much at everyone, regardless of whether the people being yelled at were involved with the bad mood maker or not?
:waving:

Well glory be.
I have had a really awful day, and a good day all wrapped into one.
Dealing with some people is like hitting a brick wall. They just don't listen, and don't care.
But we had a good time at church, and spending the day with my Bug is always fun. Got surprised by some friends tonight at church. They are both away at college, but needed to come home today, so they dropped by and saw us. It was a lovely time.
Busy busy BUSY weekend ahead. I'm already tired just thinking about it. Hopefully no more drama will happen.

I dreamed I was at or going to Youth Congress....and I met Kyle...and I remember telling everyone I would be there....I remember going to this weird hotel....It was like HUGE....endless halls of rooms....it was weird.....
I was weirded out....lol
Yeah that sounds like Youth Retreat at the Opryland Hotel. Very large hotel, very easy to get lost.
I dreamed about my wedding rehearsal. Lol..

I dreamed about my wedding rehearsal. Lol..
Did you trip going up the aisle? ha ha
Was it a cranky rehearsal where everyone was arguing about what should go where and who should do what when, or did everything go fairly well?
I had the BEST DREAM! Lots of people were in it, everyone got along, Seth was in it, APG was there, Jolene and the baby, lots of my other friends, family I haven't seen in ages, and strangers that were not really strangers...it was great! And in my dream, I kept telling everyone that I was in a dream, and I happily just let it continue. I tried to change people a few times, make others come in, and do stuff that I wanted to happen, but I couldn't. It was just really good. It wasn't about anything specific, just a bunch of people and places intermingled. So vivid and lengthy! Pretty amazing!
Wow. I'm happy with it, and I feel well rested today. :) That's rare.
With all these dreams I have to ask... do computers dream of electric sheep?
Ok...the above post was typed at like 8:30am, but I just now got to post it, cause while I was typing earlier, my phone got cut off. So I had to wait till I got to the church to get a WiFi signal.
I have had a VERY VERY good morning! The dream made me happy, and then I headed to the hospital to talk to my old manager to see about going to work there again. She sounded promising, and said they have a manager meeting today, and she will talk to them about it, and on Tuesday they will let me know!
PLEASE PRAY that Gods will is done! I need a job, and although stressful at times, I loved it there!
As for my phone. I don't know when it will be back on, so if anyone that usually texts me, needs to say anything, then FB me or Email. Cause I will be able to do those things when I get to WiFi. Just no text or calls.
:)
Even without a phone, I am extremely happy right now!
Oh! And it's gonna be a great weekend! Without a phone, I won't know what kinda drama the person that caused me so much grief is causing, so I will be blissfully oblivious!
Thanks for thinking of me, Jenn!
Seth, :pound: just cause!
*for Seth*
:sings:
Delta Dawn, what's that flower you have on
Could it be a faded rose from days gone by
And did I hear you say he was a-meeting you here today
To take you to his mansion in the sky
Hope it gets stuck in your head now... :ugly:
The only time I've ever heard Delta Dawn was on Friends when Monica sang it haha.
The rehearsal was okay. Haha... Mom asked what my decoratiOns looked like but it looked more like it was set for a play haha. Anyway. I did tell someone no and that it was MY wedding hahaha. And Jeremy and I didn't like one song we were dancing to so we said no to that. It wasn't bad but it was a kinda humorous dream.
Its one of those stupid songs that I can hear someone start singing, and I launch into the lyrics... *sigh*
I suppose Ill leave the church now. So no contact to the outside world for awhile.
Think Ill stop by and get some peppers on my way home.

Took granny to town, came home, did an egg drop, had one of those on the town trip too, made a BBP, a lady came and brought back 5 of 10 ducks she bought this spring and used for training herding dogs. Somebody is supposed to come and pick them up this afternoon.... Works pretty decent when you can sell them twice. :freaky2:

Did sell 14 chicks and a guinea while ago.
Need to go batten down the fowl hatches for the night.
Yellow, evewybody! :hi: Been a nice productive day. I got the church yard mowed, took care of some business, bought a freezer- quite a blessing , got a brand new small chest type freezer for $125- and finally got new tires on the Rusty ole truck. I've spent the last two hours out in the shop, painting Rusty's wheels, listening to the Hinsons singing away. It's great to have a cd player in the shop. :thumbsup2: Now if I could just get a/c out there...
And tomorrow is "Daddy and Chey day"..... I am so looking forward to it! While it's nice to have a day all to my own, I REALLY miss my sidekick.
Hope everyone's doing great.
Leaving the church now. So this is goodnight till tomorrow!

Holy Moses! It's a storming here! We canceled the Youth event, and there is talk of no church tomorrow. That's ok by me, the roads were badly flooded on the way back from Our Daily Bread...horrible horrible. I'm tired and want to go home! And soaked...don't forget soaked.

MEL-MEL, I MISS YOU! :reaction: :sob:

I'm sorry! I miss you too!
I took a picture this morning and we just about to text it to you and I couldn't!
A HUGE limb fell off a pine tree over the back deck, took out our fryer pot, a big clay pot, and two of the railings on the deck. It almost got the grill, and it also hit the propane tanks, we are so lucky and blessed they didn't explode. That would have been horrible.
Anyway, I took the picture just for you before I remembered.
I think I'll upload it to PB, and then post here.
Nevermind. I can't. Everytime I load the pic thru my app, it shuts down the app. I just tried 4 times. ARG!
Wow, we sure hope to get some of that rain. Stay safe.
I got the pic uploaded finally.

I am dizzy. I havent eaten today cause I dont have any money. There were just four of us at ODB today cause of the storm, usually we have time to eat, but since there were only a few, we didnt have time, and since Im broke...I liturally have $1 in my wallett...I cant go get food. LOL And I cant go home till they decide wether they are cancelling church tomorrow. UGH! If they cancel, Ill go home, but if they dont, I have to wait for Krissy and Wes to come back so we can finish setting up the room for PowerHour, and I dont have the gas to be wasting to go all the way home and back again, so I have to stay till we find out something.
Blah.
But honestly, Im NOT complaining. Im just sayin.
BTW...you can see the remains of where our burn pile is in the back of the yard. :freaky2:
$1 can be lunch if you can slip off to the supermarket right quick and pick up a can of blackeyed peas. Or kidney beans, or green beans, or sweet peas, turnip greens...
What? Fast food isn't the only thing to eat when you're away from home. The church surely has a can opener in the kitchen.
Just eat some of them dang snacks you bought the other day for the youth. :-?
I don't want snacks. I did that yesterday. And I dont want a can of beans or whatever. I do know we have a can opener, cause we didn't have a decent one, so I bought it for us back in December.
But I'm done waiting. Im going home. I MIGHT can come back tonight if Krissy and Wes come back. Ill try. But if they do cancel church, I don't know when I will have WiFi to check back in. So yeah. I'll try to stay safe and check in when I can.

I've tried ding-dongs (blech!) but I've never tried a dang. How do dang snacks taste?
Wow.
I wanted to make some chocolate pudding but I wanted to make it richer than normal. I had some table cream - thick cream, almost as thick as clotted cream, you can't pour it, you have to scoop it out - so I used that instead of part of the milk. But I didn't have any milk at all, so for the rest of what should have been milk I melted down some Blue Bell dutch chocolate ice cream. Then I put some real butter in instead of the margarine I was supposed to use. Sugar, flour, eggs, cook and stir...
It turned out so rich that a spoonful will probably add two pounds. Good thing I don't really care. :D I ate a very large bowl of it and now I want some more.
Wow, Isaac... :o
What? It was good. I might get the eggbeaters out and see if it will whip up into a mousse.
Wow that makes me wanna hurl! lol tooooo much sugar!

Had a lovely weekend so far! Church in the AM and then a picnic with the church. Excited! I did mention that we did vote in a pastor right? This is his first weekend here as our pastor. Their first official service was Wednesday. They're sweet. :)

It's not all that sweet really. In my family we don't do sickeningly sweet pies and puddings. It is very, very rich though. Almost like eating really thick chocolate whipped cream.

I am between 20 and 50 years of age, so any of the three options provided would be applicable given the data at hand. And the Shadow doesn't know, I haven't told him.
My diet is actually by-and-large healthy, or at least more healthy than that of most people around here. I don't eat a lot of fried foods, I eat more fruits and veggies than most people in this area, I filter my water because I can't stand the chlorine taste, drink before meals instead of with meals... but when I do indulge I do it right. High quality, first class, very rich, sweet but not sickeningly sweet, very satisfying and satisfactory.
And I savor every bite.
Well. It is morning. Again. And I'm back at work. Thank God I have a job, and a great one at that. When I see my friends and loved ones struggling to find a job, it makes me realize how blessed I am. I'm so thankful, and hope all of you looking find the perfect job.
And Isaac, that dessert sounds awesome. Wish you lived closer to my place, I'd "invite" myself over for a bowl. :teeth: Looking like we might get a few scattered thunderstorms today. Hope they're not too bad, I drove Rusty in and he has a slight leak I haven't fixed yet. I did enjoy the drive in- I put an old am/fm cassette that I found in some of my junk in him last night, and cruised in listening to the Hinsons and the Hemphills singing. :teeth: I can't believe I actually found those old tapes.

My labor day was fun! Piano lesson (which for me was fun... might not be for people who are "normal" as in non-music-nuts. Then came home and ate a big bowl of really rich chocolate pudding, went out and pet the cat, came back in and ran an old record off to computer, thence to CD.
Oh yeah... and I found out my uncle was right. He recommended a local convenience store deli's chicken livers, even though they are deep-fried, not pan-fried. He said they were still good. So I tried them when I stopped there to get gas and they are. Surprising, I thought all deep-fried chicken livers were tough, chewy and generally nasty.

Literally have butterflies in your stomach..... Well how'd those get in there? Were they seeking a warm place in the cold?
I eat them when I can catch them. Didn't u know they have a high nutritional content in antioxidants & increase your metabolism by 13% for the day? Plus they help your nails stay shiney.
Not. LOL
Did I have u going? Where's that giggling girly smiley when u need it?
You didn't really have me going, but then again I wouldn't have been surprised either if you really did that, being the hippy you are and all. :hippy:
Is it a bad thing that, of my almost 1,400 friends on facebook, the one I most want to unfriend and block is a single female who is in church?
John :waving:
Depends on the personality of said female. What I'd be more concerned about is how many of those 1,400 (approx.) friends you would actually recognize if you met them in person. And would they recognize you?
Good morning. Back at work. That is all. :waving:
/me beats Roscoe with a wet noodle.
Police Brutality!!!!!! :reaction:
:couch:
:smirk2:
Hmmm... My whole music collection in mp3 format, 160kbps, takes up 18.4 gigabytes. Not bad for someone who doesn't download music.
No wonder I can think of a song for any occasion. My poor head is full of them.
Howdy.
Got to go back AGAIN tomorrow to find about the job. I went today and they are all in meetings cause the big boss showed up today.
Lovely.
So yeah. Chillin at the church. Gonna stop by the library and drop off a book that's over due. Go to the bank, and then head home. After I check GP and FB and stuff.
I misseth yall.

Headed back out. Gotta go run my errends and get home. I haven't eaten again today, and I'm hungry! Got a roast in the oven at home. :fork:
Did someone say something? I heard a noise.
Just ate lunch. Back to slaving!!
Wish that weekend hadn't ended! Haha.. I cried for the frst time on Monday night cause we had to leave each other for an unsure amount of time. He says he will for SURE come down before a month goes by again. That was sooo hard! Haha..

Looks good, but I bet it tasted even better than it looks. I could use a piece right now too.
Looks lovely Sandra.
Cleaned at church. Took it back up, it's my part time job now.
I love the area we live now. The house is settled & we are working on Andrew's room. 5 layers of wallpaper.
I don't think my tomato plant is going to make it.
I tried something new: Chia seeds. They are awesome!
Ch-ch-ch-chia!

John :waving:
What did I do this time? lol
Howdy. :hi:
Sir John - Delete her! :D You can't possibly regret doing it anymore than you regret her being ON your FB.
Sandra - That cake looks scrumdiddlyumptious (or however you're s'posed to spell that). ;)
Chelbertina - I didn't hear my phone even ring, but the message made me smile. And then pout. 'Cause you feel so ridiculously far away. :sadbounce:
Mel - You feel horridly far away too, just now. *sniffles sadly* Oh, and the message you left me the other day that I never got?... yeah, it came through today.
Randomness:
It feels really weird to know my parents and siblings are at the beach without me. :o
It also feels weird to realize I am a homeschool mom now. :o Weird, but oh so nice. :)
:beret:
You're just weird period.

Morning. :hi:
You all probably know we're having lots of fires here in TX. It's really bad. Well this morning, on my way to work, I'm behind this car and the idiot throws out his burning cigarette. Made we want to jerk him outta that car and shake him till his teeth rattled! :flamingmad:
:hi: :waving:
Woah! Its that Mexican guy who is dating the funny lady!

It was that way here a few years ago. If you were caught doing that, it was a huge fine, etc. Thought of you guys yesterday. A pipeline pilot from Houston was telling me how bad it was flying up here. Said his first 200 miles was like flying in a cloud bank because of all the smoke. Today he was flying around the Austin area, said it was very bad there too.
The smoke has been really bad, even when the fires are a ways off. They have been telling folks to slow down and drive with headlights on.
Annnnnd..... We're back! Good thing it was a church night last night. If it had been a lay around night I'd have lost my mind without GP.
Good morning all. It's my friday!
I knew Arkansas wasn't normal. Everyone else has their Fridays tomorrow. :P
