Well! I feel special. :biglaugh: This is the fourth sharing thread in a row that either directly or indirectly names me. I am loved by all. :hypocrite:
I therefore decree that Seth is now overthrown as King of Godplace- he may keep his title as King of chickens, as long as I am paid tribute. Furthermore, "GP" or "GodPlace" will henceforth be known as Ye Olde Donut Shoppe, or King Cop's Corner. The poster formerly known as Queen Mel, will now take her place as either the Duchess of Bore, :couch: or may retain the "Queen of chickens" title.
Lady Kymber may, at her descretion, be henceforth known as Princess of Chickens or may fight Mel for the Duchess of Bore title.
Taco and Mini shall remain the Court jesters :joker:, or fool, as the case maybe, but will remain under orders to defend the king from the dragon- a composite beast made up of Purple Fuzzy, Babs, or T.L. (depending on their mood they may alternate duties as the dragon.) :couch:
Newsman will be head of my Royal Pains, er Guards, as he has much experience in these matters.
And Mellow Yellow, will, of course, be my Royal Physician- she grows good medicine. :fork: :hippy: :laughhard:
Oh, and I forgot- Psalms_97 will be the court baker. Sourdough, anyone? :laughhard:
Everyone else-

*The Tea Sipper hereby refuses to submit to The New King, and does not bow in his presence* :P
Of course, since I didn't bow to the previous king... well... my actions shouldn't be taken personally. *grin*
:beret:
Bah.
Humbug.
:beret:
:hi:
I only bow to one KING and that is JESUS. I am sure I have done enough silly/stupid things in my life to serve Him as jester as well. However, no earthly king gains my loyalty, especially those from RKansas.
I dont bow either...but my wife kneels before me...especially when she gets on her knees and tells me to get out from under the bed to fight like a man...
You peasants. :laughhard: I am dismayed that you fail to recognize your better. :laughhard: Oh, well, such as life. I tried to make it better for you. I'll abdicate the throne and leave you to wallow in poverty. :hypocrite:
And wooby, I DO take your refusal personally-the last king (Seth) was a fraud. I was not. :hypocrite:
In other news, I am back at work. Lou and I had a pleasant "date night" last night. Her Mama kept Cheyenne, and she and I enjoyed a nice dinner and an evening out together. :thumbsup2: That is something we rarely have opportunity for, and often times, when the chance comes, the money isn't there. Last night the planets aligned properly. :teeth:
Hope all of my former subjects and peasants have a great day..... Oh, and the one person I was trying to provoke into a response didn't show- WHERE'S MEL?!? :waving:
Never mind, I see where she ran in and waved. I am apparently blind.
Sorry. I'm at our annual camp out at our Youth Pastors house!
Currently, they just let the guys in the house cause it is POURING rain outside, and I am on an air matteress in Livis bedroom with Kimber on a cot beside me. :)
We are the only lucky ones still in the bed. Hehe.
BUT! now we are trapped in this room cause the house is now filled with guys and I can't go aross the hall to the bathroom cause I am in my pajamas.
I will be needing to go in that bathroom very soon. :o So I need to figure something out. :o
BTW...I'm not the Chicken Queen. Never have been. That's Mymbirs title.
:hi: Chel is still having a yard sale. It's hot and humid. We stopped but didn't stay.
:addnothing:
Bless Chel's little pea-pickin' heart.
What she ought to do is sell hugs. If word got around, she'd have people lined up around the block for that. :freaky2:
:hypocrite:
I may take a nap.
Had a couple bird sales today. Somebody is coming for eggs in a bit.
I think if everyone would pay her what they owe her she'd be set for a while and not need fund raisers.
What, does she loan people money a lot?
(Insert random joke about me wanting to borrow some money, because I'm too tired to think of one at the moment.)

What does she sell? Does she have a paypal account for donations?
Melodya - She does have a paypal set up for donations, but I can't remember what it is at the moment. I think there's a link on her blog?? I'll have to look it up a little later. After I feed my three hungry lions. ;)
:beret:
Yeah, it's on the right side of her blog: http://chelbertina.blogspot.com/ but you'd have to put a note on what it's for, since that one was for crusader's camp last month. It will still work, though.

I'm exhausted.
Campout was fun, but I realized I am NOT as young as I used to be.
I saw a FB status (from a GPer actually) today and it had the word Orbs in it. I was reminded of ROFL and it made me smile.
Yeah I'm delusional. And tired.
That is all.
Knowing Chel, she will never collect all the money she is owed. Not because her friends are tightwads, but because she will never, ever mention to them that they owe her. Very um... aware of other people's feelings is your Chel.
Well, her adopted sister may go helpfully remind a few people. *ahem*
Mel, I'm glad you're delusional. It's one of the reasons I love you. ;) *Hugs* back.
Jason has been diligently guarding our cherry tree with his rubberband gun and his slingshot for the last week or so while the cherries have been ripening, and it appears his hard work paid off. We've harvested quite a good sized little crop already. Yay him and his love for cherry pie. :)

Merning one and all...busy day today, busy week ahead...we are gonna have a rocking good time though.
Dropping my wife and kiddos off at church, then traveling to a neighboring church to help out. They just elected a pastor, and pastor is not in town yet. And they have a new couple that wants baptized.
For you in the know, when they stop bubbling and struggling, is that when you bring em back up? :ugly:
Then back to pick up wife and kids, and hitting the road to Oklahoma Camp Meeting! Every morning will be with the children and Bro and Sis Oliver, evenings hearing Rev. Calvin Jean and Rev. Brian Kinsey (Calvin Jean first three nights, Brian Kinsey the last three nights).
And to top it off, this wonderful Oklahoma heat will be pushing triple digits every day!

What I had for lunch.
Cool beans, Rump.
Went to church, stayed for lunch, stayed for singing after lunch, came home.
Sister Carol is one of the managers at the McDonald's where I used to work. She made two buttermilk pies - one went on the church dessert table, the other went to me. :D
I want a buttermilk pie!
Come get a slice. I can get more. She makes *THE* best buttermilk pies, they come out almost like custard.
umm... then why not just eat a custard pie? :P
I said almost like custard. The difference is these are better than standard custard pies, much more creamy.
Mini, remind me to tell you about the first time I baptized someone. I learned a lot of lessons that day. lol I think there is even a video floating around somewhere. lol
Fighting a bad headache today. Got several prayer request that need God to move in, if ya'll don't mind praying. God knows what and who they are.
As tempting as it is to go get some, I think It will be easier to talk my mom into making one. Lol. It sounds like they are very similar.
Today was very :cry2:  :cry2:  :cry2:  even at church.
I have learned that a good cleansing cry at alter call is a great way to end my Sunday.

Folks from Texas are staying until Wednesday, not leaving tomorrow as originally planned. On the downside, when they do leave they are still taking Grandma with them. :(
My pastor even mentioned it in church. "We're glad to see Ray and Ann with us today from Texas. Always glad to have them with us... but the bad thing about it is when they leave they always take Imaline with them."
Buttermilk pie is something I've never tried. Sounds interesting, though.
Something sweet would be nice right now.
You called? :D

It cracks me up to hear someone talk about how grown up they are because they're married.. Knowing their inlaws have paid more of their bills than they actually have. Seriously? Get.a.job!
Howdy y'all.
Yesterday was my church's Homecoming Sunday. Morning service, lunch, afternoon singing, no night service. Visiting preacher preached a good message on getting back to "First generation" religion - not something we heard about from our parents, not something in our own past but a continued and continuing life personally with God.
For the singing after lunch I was running the sound booth and I took my new toy for a test drive. Our sound board has a direct sound out on each channel, so I ran a bunch of cables from the microphone and piano sound outs to my 16-in audio interface and recorded the whole thing in my computer in multi-channel. I did it mostly to see if I could, as a proof of concept. Now that I know what I'm doing, I'll be ready to record any singing group that wants to make a CD. :great:
So I stepped outside this morning and found out my dog has been hit by an automobile and is dead. :sadbounce:

Our limit is 10.

How do they expect you to read that many? How long do you get to keep them? We have one month at a time.

Today is Day 1. I am a habitual yo-yo dieter. You'll learn this sooner or later, so I guess sooner is better. I am trying something new. I'm not restricting what I can eat, but how much. And I'm doing yoga and some basic stretching and strengthening. So we'll see.
yeah, I asked her cause I figured I'd need to put some of Hannah's on my card. She had gotten 14. They're due back Aug. 22nd.
I can't imagine why or how anyone would do 200. But I'm assuming that means Cds, DVDs, online downloads, etc.
Speaking of which, Nathan said he feels like he would like to read a good novel. He hasn't read one since HIGHSCHOOL and only for school.
So I would like to go to the Borders (all of which are closing- bankrupcy) and buy one, or do amazon. Wrap it in a pretty bow and have it be a nice little gift for his return home. His love language is gifts. ☺

13 and 9. No I didn't, I'll go look. Andrew has books he's been wanting to do something with.
Gregor the Overlander Series, Artemis Fowl- 1st one, The Mysterious Benedict Society- 1st one, Percy Jackson series, books 2-5, The Missing Series- Found 1st book, Crypted Hunters, The Looking Glass Wars- 1st book.We looked into selling them online but he wouldn't hardly make anything with books being so cheap. Psalms- Sorry about the loss of your pet.
And in reference to the book limit- ours was around ten, I think. I must confess to being a bad library patron.... About five or six years ago, I went to the library nearly every day or two. I love reading and do it very well, having been somewhat of a speed reader since age seven or so. Anyhow, I checked out four good novels, took them home, and for some reason changed shifts before I could return them. Life got in the way and I forgot. Lou went to get her and Cheyenne a card the other day and they denied them a card until I turn in the books. :laughhard: I'm a tightwad, and there is a $20 fee, so I'm waiting on one of their annual "Amnesty" days when all is forgiven so that I can return them and be a good patron again. :laughhard:
And I made it to my weekend! :clap2:

I just now had to click your profile and check your location. Being from Kansas would explain not knowing. "Don't dunnit" is basically "It does not!" with hillbilly emphasis.
What about being from MS? B/c I certainly didn't know what it meant lol.
Me either. And I'm from Florida...

BOL! That's hilarious. I was trying to figure out what it could be w/ a hillbilly accent. I still don't know how you get that from "it does not." LOL
I learn something new everyday don'tch'a know.
And I'm not from Kansas, I'm from Missouri. You, being from... I'm too lazy to check, probably wouldn't recognize my accent on here. ;)

Yeah Seth sounds about the way I thought he would. And his bird farm looks about like I pictured it. You weren't kidding about the mowing Seth.
Here's an idea: Fence in about 96% of that land in one big fence, leaving a fenced-in alley from the house to the road, let the grass grow and let the birds all roam free in the fence. The taller the grass, the more bugs there are in it, so you won't have to buy nearly as much bird feed. And you'll only have to mow around the house.
That's all that gets mowed anyways. :smirk2: The fence needs fixed so it can have cows turned on it. Send the Amish and we'll get er done....
As Jenn Jenn would say, I'm tarred as a mugg.
She'd say the mugg part anyways.

Indeed. I cannot deny all of the above.
Fence it in and get a few goats.
Some of those fainting ones would be extra fun!
Today I had a good day.
This morning was spent moving around the living room. Having the play room on another level wasn't really working out too well. It did for a bit, then it didn't. Plus if I get littler kids it will be nice to have them up here.
I laid the 3 I had today down for nap time and Roomie watched them whilst I went and ate lunch with my aunt and grandfather. Nothing like young fresh dead cow! Oh and fried zucchini and mini carrots. And I talked to her about some of the things I'm dealing with financially and stuff and she said she'd help me with some of my tax prep stuff for the daycare! Rock STAR! So then I went to see my mum and ate brownies and potato salad there. Talked to her about the things that have been going on in my personal life. So then I came home to my DC kids being well napped and ready to play. I think they like being up here better too. I also figured out all the DHS stuff to finish my registration.
Today was productive. Oh and I watched the video of Seth. Heehee :thumbsup2:
Made, and currently eating some BBQ Spaghetti. It's very good!
Goats are not that great at eating grass. And it's the fencing it in that is the problem. You all act like that's just cheap and easy as pooh.
It would be if you were Amish.
Goats actually just tear the grass up and stomp all over it...*silly goats*

Trying to figure out a homework assignment that has to be turned in tomorrow, so I can turn it in early. My mom has another doctor's appointment in Mobile tomorrow. She has to get a CT or PET scan. I am going with them because they don't do long trips on their own very well anymore.
Not sure I trust this new doctor she is seeing because he seems like a quack. Some of the things he is saying he thinks is wrong with her just make zero sense and goes against what every other doctor she has seen has told her. pray for her and pray she finally gets some real answers in all this.
This assignment is about to whoop me, can't figure out what writing a paper on general kitchen appliances is going to teach me about programming. I think whoever came up with this assignment was seeing if he could sneak a joke into the curriculum. lol

This new thing about some businesses not allowing small children because so many are disruptive, disrespectful more often than not is creating some controversy.. LOL
I agree with it. If your kid is throwing a tantrum. Take them out, don't make everyone else suffer through it. Yet I just seen on FB how some view the law as evidence of how selfish people are nowadays by not letting "children grow in social settings." I think it's far more selfish for the mom to make everyone deal with a kid that she won't! Thus letting the child know that their feelings are more important than others around them. Good grief.

I don't know how many times I have walked Roomie's son out of a restraunt and made him sit in time out outside screaming..or at a store. I've taken him to the bathroom before and stood him in time out too...It's so frustrating that some people just don't care if their kid is a disruption.

I agree with you, Mellow Yellow. As a parent, I know that a child has times that they are brats, but if mine starts acting up and being loud, I'll get to-go plates and leave. And if that happens, the little girl won't be able to sit comfortably for a week...

Awesome campmeeting service yesterday too! In case you missed it, my son got the Holy Ghost yesterday! This daddy was beside himself with joy! At first count, we thought we had 14 kiddos get the Holy Ghost yesterday, but after service, one momma brought her little girl who was very shy and she told the Olivers she got the Holy Ghost too! 15 kiddos! 27 kiddos in two days!
Brother Calvin Jean has tore it up every night too. First night was about love toward your brothers (you cannot be saved if you dont have love towards all your brothers, even if you love God), the second night about the way to Zion (how this message we love is from genesis to revelation), and last night was served, but not respected (how we serve God, but dont respect him). Duuude...
Tonight Brian Kinsey comes in. It will be good stuff...

I know she'll have less time for Daddy the older she gets.
She has decreed that today, she, Daddy, Mama, and Rusty are going to do her and Daddy's drinking -Dr. Pepper -and riding -around -dirt roads -in -Rusty ritual, then we are going to go to the Musuem on the mountain, then go pick out her birthday presents. I'm thinking Mama's not gonna be as pleased as Daddy about the driving around in a 70 year old truck without air. :biglaugh:

"Uffda/ Oofda is often used in the Upper Midwest as a term for sensory overload. It can be used as an expression of surprise, astonishment, exhaustion, relief and sometimes dismay. For many, Uffda is an all-purpose expression with a variety of nuances, and covering a variety of situations. Within Midwestern culture, Uffda frequently translates into: I am overwhelmed. It has become a mark of Scandinavian roots, particularly for people from North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin, northern Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan."http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uff_da (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uff_da)

Last night I bleached the mold and stuff on the walls. Today I found more. UGH!
Today I used a straight razor and got rid of all the old caulk since it was mildewy and you could tell they had used the white cheap stuff, which isn't a good idea in a bathroom tub surround. So I got ALL of that done..it was a chore.
Insert Bible Study at church here.
Walmart.
Back home to re-silicone the tub and surround. It looks SO much better. Not a total pro job, but a LOT better. Then I filled all the holes and weird spots on the wall. There is part of one wall that is messed up and is going to take a couple fillings. *sigh* Am I done with this bathroom yet?

It has become a mark of Scandinavian roots, particularly for people from North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin, northern Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan."

UFFDA IS:
* trying to dance the polka to rock and roll music
* eating at Inga and Lena's restaurant and finding out they only serve Mexican food
* having Swedish meat balls at a lutefisk supper
* finding out Ole and Svens is a pizza place in Grand Marais, MN
* having more miles on your snowblower than your car
* walking downstairs and then forgetting what you wanted
* when they run out of lutefisk at a lutefisk supper and you have to settle for minced ham instead
* having to take your kids Trick or Treating in a blizzard.
* trying to pour two buckets of manure into one bucket
* having a mouse crawl up your leg when you're on a hayload
* eating hot soup when you've got a runny nose
* knowing somewere in the state of Minnesota is a piece of frozen metal with a piece of your tongue still attached.
* getting swished in the face with a cow's wet tail
* waking yourself up in church with your own snoring
* forgetting your mother-in-law's first name
* having spent the last fifteen minutes getting your kid dressed to play in the snow only to have him tell you that NOW he has to go potty
* noticing non-Norwegians at a church dinner using lefse for a napkin
* eating a delicious sandwich and then discovering the spread is cat food
* sneezing so hard at the dinner table that your false teeth end up in the bread plate
* having attended a formal affair in your best dress, finest jewelry, wearing your Sorrels.

I was born and raised in southern PA, and Northern VA... but have lived in CA (ok, I was 6 months old, so it probably doesn't count, lol), TX, UT, and now live in WI (but I am 5 minutes away from the UP of MI, and I work in MI). So I still have to live in Washington or Oregon and then Georgia or Florida... and Maine... and I would have lived in the all the important areas of the USA, lol.

Morning y'all.
Ok everybody. I'm in need of prayer. I'm in the middle of one of the most difficult situations in my life and I'm growing weary of the battle. I'm trying to hold out hope that October will get here and things will be fine, but I no longer can hope.
A little background. I have a friend in Afghanistan currently. His year will be up in October, but he's not at all the same man he was when he left here. I don't know this man at all and I greatly fear I'll never see the old him again. The man who was once filled with faith and tolerance and encouragement told me recently that hope is a fairy tale. I no lOnger have words to say.
I almost wish I could say I cried myself to sleep last night in utter defeat. Instead it kept me awake haunting me. Watching him go through this dark time is doing it to me as well. I almost feel I should agree with him and give up hope.

Ok, so 3 wks ago's Sunday we were out of town to see family. Then the next Sunday I was very sick. Last Sunday people were saying it was the best service we've ever had, incredibly deep. And where was I? changing poopy diapers, on nursery duty.

What's up party people?
Just a quick update. I'm currently working 2 jobs. Fulltime as a receptionist at an animal hospital and still APG 2 days a week.
APB finally got his act together and we've been officially dating for about 3 months.
Despite working 2 jobs it looks like I'm gonna have to go file for bankruptcy.
Bought a car about a month ago. It's been sitting in my backyard (then my garage) for the last 2 weeks with issues. I just need to move somewhere with mass transit.

It says "it's complicated" LOL
Heard some reports from IMPACT, waiting for a few others to confirm what I heard before sharing it. It sounds like they had one AMAZING service there tonight. If you know anyone who went ask them about it.
A minster friend confirmed what I heard. Here is his FB status:
Bro jeff Arnold just literally died on the altar after preaching Impact Conference. Then he was raised up and ran across the platform! 3-4 nurses confirmed he had no pulse! I seen the man! He was dead! The emts arrived and chked him and everything was normal!
Someone elses comment who was there:
It was awesome I was standing there. He was white as a ghost he was gone! Just a few min later he grabbed the womans hand that was beating on his chest so she would stop. About 5 min later he was on his feet worshiping God!
Another:
What a miraculous service at Impact tonight!!! Brother Jeff Arnold preached with outstanding anointing. As we gathered in the altar, something happened to him. He passed out and turned deathly pale. A nurse could not locate a pulse for several minutes. We continued in prayer and he sat up. You will hear from this service! Miracles, signs, wonders!!!
Wow. :o

From the description, when he's not a kid he apparently is a wolverine. Or maybe a tasmanian devil.
A friend was talking about a dog his daughter or someone had picked up, which was a bit of a wild thing. They named the dog something that, in the local language, means "little tornado," "Which he is" said the friend, "Depending on what "is" is. He'd better shape up or he will be a was."
I just got a text message reminding me to pick up a mat for my kid to take a nap on at day care. But I don't have a kid, at least as far as I know. It would be quite impossible in my case, as I have never even been on a date before.
These cell phone carriers really should put a notice out to everyone in a user's address book when a number is changed. Every time I get a new phone I spend the next 6 months getting someone else's messages. :frustrated:

I haven't changed my number EVER! Too many people have it, and if I changed it, they might never find me again!
And I REFUSE to answer calls from numbers that are not in my address book. If you want to talk to me, leave a message so I know who you are next time. Hehe.
I've had the same number since I got a cell phone too. And I get calls from numbers I don't know constantly, because I'm a bird salesman. lol
I need some peppers. Who will go get me some?
I'm headed to a friends house in about an hour...I guess I can go get some then.
Melb why do you need peppers....and shouldn't you be a little more specific...there are TONS of types of peppers lol
Specifically, I need the jalapeños from Popeyes. I got started eating them when I went to camp, and I go thru and get a bag (of 12) every other day now. They are DELICIOUS! And 12 only cost $3.
I tried getting some at the store to cut cost, but so far have not found any that are as good as the ones from Popeyes. I just eat them. Usually I can eat 3-4 before I have to stop cause I'm on fire. Lol
I have a strange addiction.
Oil of oregano is a cleansing oil. You take it diluted in another oil like olive oil. I just tried this. I almost died.
true story. I'm thanking Jesus right now.
You mean you "take it" as in swallow it?
How much, and what exactly did it do to you?
:flush:
Yes, swallowed.
It's VERY strong. Like the oregano spice.. times like 1000. I read I'm supposed to do a 50/50 with another oil like olive oil. So I did 1/2 a tablespoon total.
I only got half of it down and started gagging. puked. coughed, still coughing. I thought it took my voice forever. The kids were scared.. lol My face is still beat red because it can increase blood pressure a bit.
It's super spicy. I can feel exactly where it's at in my body now. I've been congested though and I'm pretty much NOT now.
I think I shall dilute it according to the children's dose. Which is like 2-3 drops per glass of juice.
Cure ye or kill ye, one t'other.
Wow.

When I first got this phone # four years ago, I got calls for this one girl. Once I even got pictures of some baby. We had a small conversation about their baby after I told them I wasn't the girl they wanted. I still randomly get a call from people asking for her, but one in a year isn't so bad! Lately the big thing has been people calling to rent an apartment..... Hahahahahahaha!!! I don't even own anything besides my car!
Mom followed me home from work tonight cause I was SO dizzy/lightheaded at work all night. Checked my BP when we got home and it was 113/67. Haha.. Granted, I had felt lots better for about half an hour by then! Hopefully God's gonna fix whatever is causing that to happen. It wasn't the first time but it has been the worst!

ew. That'd be intense, even for Seth.
You may recall my dog died a few days ago. So today I went to the humane society/pound/animal shelter... the have-a-pet-leave-a-pet-need-a-pet-take-a-pet place... to get a couple of cats, which I have been wanting for some time. As soon as I walked in the door I knew I was in the right place - good grief, what a smell! They had ever so many kittens and a few adults too, but I finally chose a momma and her kid.
Due to local circumstances beyond my control they will be outside cats. I had already acquired a litter box, litter, food, animal carrier and a big tent-like outdoor cat cage, in which they are currently lounging. When I was growing up we always had a cat so I know better than to just turn them out outside. They will stay in the cage for a good two or three days at least, until they get the idea that this is home. The litter currently in the box should be good for that long. I gave them a can of tuna as a welcome-home present.
My remaining dog seems afraid of them, and they don't pay the dog any attention at all.
I haven't yet decided what to name them. They are both mixed white/black, patches of white, patches of black, all over. I am going to give them real names though, not "Mittens," "Fluffy" or any of the traditional cheesy cat names. Maybe I'll just name them Cat and Cat - what's the point of naming an animal that won't come when you call it? :P
Chel and Fuzzy, as Grandma is currently in Texas I ask you to please not tell her about the cats. She won't mind if they are outside, but I want them to be a surprise when she comes back.

MellowYellow. I read your post and looked up oil of oregano. I'm sure you've researched it, but from all I found it's actually dangerous. Small amounts like in oregano we use for cooking isn't harmful, but I've found no scientific proof that it has any health benefits and only proof that it is harmful. Please be careful if you are going to continue to use it.

Oh my...
Oh your what?
Challenging time.
Mom is not doing well at all, still in hospital, 3 1/2 weeks now.
I've been more ill than normal.
Brother who assisted me in much of the financial and accounting side of the church unexpectedly quit. Though I'm training another brother, but it still looks like an extra half hour on Sundays, often in a timeframe I don't have that much time to do it.
More work than normal related to church Sunday.
Supposed to leave on vacation Thursday, early..
John

I have researched it. I lean strongly towards hollistic medicine which science hasn't even begun to catch up with so what's accepted to much of modern "science" doesn't necessarily impress me, especially when it's not that they can disprove it, they just can't "support" it. The same modern science that approves meds that literally pacify one thing while still destroying your body in another. The same science that gives out one information as Fact one year and turns around and says the opposite the next. But that's me. People can agree or disagree, it's my journey.
It was strong for me. The side effects are slight rise in blood pressure temporarily, as with all spicy food. And upset stomach, if it's too spicy for a person. I had no upset stomach. It was too strong for me though, that's what the drama was about. And I had fasted thinking that it would be better absorbed.

Newsman: Yeah, just in the last couple of months we've had a few people in key places quit too. Puts a bit of a load on the remaining people.

Hey Nic!
I got a question for ya, I've been meaning to ask but keep forgetting when I am "elsewhere" ;)
I have been hearing stuff about that FaceBook was banned in China, is it not banned in your area? You are on FB all the time. Justin and I were discussing it, and he mentioned you...I didn't even know he was paying attention enough to know you were even over there! Lol
Well I'm technically not "in China"... HK is governed separately to China. It's a bit more similar to Puerto Rico or something, which is "owned" by the US but is governed separately... clear as mud? But we can get FB here obviously ;)
Praying for you John.
I would gladly pay for 3 hours of good sleep!! If anyone knows how to make that happen let me know.

Keep your eyes locked on God, not whats going on around you. Trust in him, and let him do the work. The more we focus on ourselves and those around us, the less we feel we can or could do.
And remember your testimony! God brought you out of all that so you could be a witness to me and everyone else on Godplace, and everyone you meet. You can reach people that I could never reach. You are a powerful person when you are armed with a testimony like that! The devil can never take your testimony away. USE IT!

I'm just struggling. floundering is more like it probably. I got a pretty hurtful phone call from someone yesterday morning. It's hard to live with the world (Roomie) and not have the same views on just about anything. It's a long story. A pretty intense painful one. And of all people, my mom is the one to convince me to get out of bed this morning and go to church. She did promise me fried zucchini. I just hate when old battles you think are over come back stronger than ever. I promise sometime this week I will share my testimony with all of you, it's been a long road....and I don't see it getting any shorter today.
But at least there's fried zucchini somewhere along the road. Care to share? :great:

Isg, you're not the only one that has old battles come back, obviously. I've gone to church my entire life, sometimes sincere, sometimes very cold, and because of that,I have problems to this day that I thought I had put behind me that resurface. I remind myself that if Satan is bringing all this back on me, apparently I'm doing something right for God and it is worrying the devil. I then try to get through it all over again. Fortunately, I have brothers and sisters like these we talk to here that will hold me up when I'm weak. Be praying for ya, girl. :waving:

Nelle, If you've got an Autozone nearby, they will check your car for free and give you an idea what is wrong with it. Probably something simple, like an O2 sensor or the like if it's not cutting out or acting up. Don't stress, girl, it'll be alright. Trust me. :teeth:
Nelle---I had a horrible week last week. One of my best friends passed away...I ran over something in front of the tire shop and had to buy 2 new tires--had a fight with my parents---the list just goes on. But I finally just said...God--you got this. Give me a little bit of good news so I can have the strength to deal with all the bad. For the first time I just stopped worrying and KNEW God would be in it all. Seriously? Has He EVER failed you yet? His plans are bigger than ours and He is the master of the details.
I don't know why all this stuff is happening in my life but I know there is a purpose.
I was stressing about not having any money left after the tires. The next day my husband got a GIGANTIC raise. It had to be God because my husband's boss is.....ummmm....frugal. :biglaugh: We didnt see it coming!

SHARING: We keep having to work Saturdays at work so I got desperate and decided to make a batch of bread today. It is possible if I mix up the dough and knead it right after morning service, knead it again and put it in pans before night service and bake it after night service. So right now I'm baking some bread. It sure is hectic trying to get everything done in time but it works.
And mmmm-MMM! I can smell the sourdough already. Wish it was already done so I could get a slice.

Halo: I'm beginning to think the spiritual is definitely the reason behind mine. I began questioning if God REALLY cared that I was struggling so badly..and while my answers haven't all come yet, I - know- He does. I'd been struggling spiritually some too. Tonight's service was exactly what I needed to encourage me to just leave it in His hands.
I did go to AutoZone. They gave me their diagnosis. I've gotta call tomorrow for an appointment with Hyundai service center and see if they'll reset my car's computer. Looks like it MIGHT have just been my gas cap. Super weird. I never ever don't screw it back on..and it was definitely NOT screwed in today when I checked. Cause mom had this happen around the same mileage on her car. And the gas cap being off can make your light come on. Weird too cause I only get gas once a week..so it was already a week today since the last fill up! I'm going believing that's all it is!

agave nectar is worse for you than white sugar! Just so you know. Unless you just squeezed it out of the plant just now. Processing takes ALL the good stuff out. It's terrible for diabetics. Same with regular store bought honey.

unprocessed would be raw. I've never seen dark raw honey. Where do you get it? I agree raw honey is the only way to go. Powerful stuff! I have wondered what they knew in Biblical days that we don't now, about honey.
we have some local raw honey--it taste stronger than store bought. Good stuff!
Dad used to have bees. We had our own raw honey. It was amazing!
I like agave nectar for some things...and we can get raw honey at the farmer's markets here!
I like "sugar in the raw" or whatever it is called the best, but it's so expensive....
me too ISG. "Dehydrated cane juice" is a good and less expensive equivalent.

You find a farmer who's bees have been foraging on plants that result in dark honey. Buckwheat honey for example. Or local honey from bees who have not been provided a specific type of plant (i.e. clover, rose) to make light honey - bees who have just been allowed to go out and find whatever plants are in the neighborhood - that usually results in a darkish honey.
My dad used to keep bees and mmmmmm-MMM it was good!
My mother passed away about an hour and a quarter ago.
She was a great mother.
Oh man... sorry to hear that. :-\
Praying for you John.
Oh man John...praying for you sir. So sorry to hear that.
John, I'll pray and pray and pray some more, for you and your family....I'm so sorry for your loss. *hug*
I leave in a little while to get the second set of rooster cone injections in my knees. Hopefully, they remember to bring enough for both knees this time. I am not looking forward to a 160 mile round trip in the back of a van with no a/c.
Got something big happening tomorrow, could use your prayers for the Lord's help and some divine favor in this matter.
Praying for you, John.
/me hugs John.
I'm sorry.
/me hugs John...
I have a dilemma. It's minor really, but it's bothering me. I have three kids who are here full time, the oldest is 8 and he is always asking if he can help with whatever I'd doing. Laundry, dishes, cooking, feeding the cats. Well today I asked him if he wanted to help me with something. He got a really sad look on his face and said "My mom said I can't help you anymore." I asked him if he knew why she said that, he just started to cry and asked if he could go play. I let him know I wasn't mad and sent him to play. I guess the dilemma is, I always seem to have issues with the mom of these kids, but there dad is really helpful and nice. She's written me bad checks, and then he's covered them. She's had the kids go get the mail and hide it from him. At one point she was even asking me to go through her mail (she's my neighbor) and take out anything with her husband's name on it. Once I stopped doing that, I refuse to lie, and he had started to ask me if I or their son had gotten the mail. She started not even speaking to me when she drops off the kids. I always try to be pleasant to her but most of the time she just puffs off in a huff of silence. So I guess the dilemma is..do I ask anyone what was said about him not being able to help? or do I just leave it alone?
*another hug* for John. I am really really sorry. I've been praying for you!
Bro. John, I'm sorry for your loss. God is with you.
IowaSkirtGirl:
I'm not Dear Abby, but seems to me her main problem is between her and her husband. You're just the person she wanted to use as a henchman (well, henchwoman if we want to be politically correct...) The more you get involved with this the more you'll get burned. Sure she's mad at you for not helping, but the things she wanted you to help with are setting off more red flags than a chinese parade. Keep being friendly to the woman, but at an arm's length.
You'll probably also get in a lot of trouble if you run and tattle to the husband about the wife has been doing. There you're on your own - Especially from long distance I can't even make a guess how much trouble (or even danger) that would cause you. If it reaches the point where you feel someone's life is in danger you can call the police and they'll keep your name out of the report, but telling the husband what his wife has been up to will almost certainly make for bad feelings all around. Okay, *worse* feelings all around - they seem bad enough as it is.
Mind you, the usual caveats apply - namely that I'm not there, I can't know the whole story and even if I did know everything about it I might still be wrong.
That's kinda my plan, leave it alone, and keep being nice, but refuse to sacrifice the morals I have worked so hard to build.
Lord, have mercy......
John, very sorry to hear about your mother.
Called the stupid land lawyer again....actually talked to him....he thought he was waiting for a new deed description from the surveyor for the other party's land.... And he was not....I pointed out I didn't think that was the case and he checked with the surveyor and called me back and said he should have something later this week, so he should be getting with the other party directly....
BUT....of all daggone things, when they get a new description surveyed, my dad will have to sign a daggone quit claim back to them for their part...... That's dumb as monkey poop..... :reaction: Sheesh..... After it's all said and done, it'll all be said...and done.... :smirk2:
I'm gonna get a time machine and go back to 1948 or somewhere along in there, and kick William and Zada Allen and Sympson Robertson all RIGHT SQUARE IN THE BEHIND for writing the original deed split out the way they did. If they hadn't been so daggone vague and wrote it utilizing an exception clause instead of two totally freestanding deeds, all this wouldn't have been the issue it is years later.
Or...in lieu of that, maybe I'll just find out where they are all buried at and go pee on their graves.
:smirk2:
Ummm...WOW.
:o
Whut? :smirk2:
Oh, and are you supposed to go to the funeral home for somebody that didn't like you?
I'm thinking probably not, if they wouldn't want you in their home, they wouldn't want you in their funeral home.... Even though you may still be friends with or have connections with their extended family.... Or even though they might've still liked the rest of your own family okay, just not you.....
News: sorry for your loss.. Praying for you and your family!
I'm almost done with my car crisis.. I think! Light was just cause of fuel cap, even tho it's weird that it was even off! Now I'm getting the two new tires. I needed four, but the other two will have to be probably at the end of the month after I pay my bills. Thankful it's gone well so far!
Work at 2..hoping yesterday's drama is done.
Well I guess this is as good a place to ask as any...
I am now taking suggestions for names for my new cats. The momma is a year old, her daughter is 4 months old. Both are white and black short-hair domestic felines, momma is more black, daughter is more white. Both are cool cats who (when I am not there) seem to be practicing to be marathon loungers, spending many hours each day in a rigorous lounge training schedule. When I am out there they are both looking at me and occasionally meowing for attention.
Before you suggest anything, please note that I do not name animals cheesy, stereotyped names like "Fluffy," "Mittens" or the like. And if you suggest "Oreo" because of the black/white color you are no longer my friend. :P

For a mother and daughter?
Thank you for a serious suggestion though. I was beginning to despair.
Okay....serious....how about "Naomi" and "Ruth"? One of the greatest mother and "daughter" in the Bible...I love that book in the Bible.
I had two cats there were brother and sister named Biscuit and Gravy. But you want more traditional non foofoo names..lets see. Olivia and Harmony. Or...Serenity and Peace. Hope and Love?
Seymoure & Buttes.

Well, now both of my knees are part rooster. Had a very uncomfortable experience at the doctors today to the point I almost asked the nurse to stop giving the injections and let the doctor come in and do it. Then as I considered there was currently a huge needle and syringe literally poking out of the side of my leg, I figured I didn't want to upset the person who currently had control of that object. lol
Running on empty tonight. Between no sleep last night and the extreme heat today, I am spent! I got something going on tomorrow morning I could really use ya'lls prayers for. Pray for me to have the knowledge and wisdom I need, and divine favor.
Thanks!
Praying Taco. I'm terrible with names or I have never caught yours. But I'm sure the Lord will know who I mean when I say, "Lord, help Taco."
Ok, last night. After 10 days, Nathan will finally be home tomorrow. I haven't hardly slept since he left. Kinda stinks how dependent a gal is after being married for years. I used to be very independent, now I'm am a sad pathetic case... lol But it was a good job for him to do and the family he worked for are old friends.
Jehova Jireh.
I answer to Taco and Jason...... lol I think at a recent GP meetup I got called Taco way more than Jason so it is all good. lol
I think I have decided on Hypatia (or "Tia" for short) for the mother, Tabatha for the daughter. This is subject to change at any time though, I'm still getting to know them. Usually once a pet has been around for a bit it finds its own name, something just clicks and it's so obvious this pet is a perfect <insert name here>
:smirk2:
Yo!
Ho ho and a bottle of "mocha."
that sounds good, if I didn't have a sleeping baby, I'd go get one right now!! Instead, I may just go do some work ;)
Nobody would be able to understand what you wanted. *cough*

I broke my ceiling fan.
I was yawning and stretching and forgot that I was right under the ceiling fan. Stuck my hand right up in its midst, and KAPOW! A blade of the fan goes flying across the room and my hand feels like I pounded it with a hammer....LOL
OUCH mini! I've done that making my bed! Sometimes you can find a replacement blade at menards or lowes instead of a whole new fan :)
I had done something similar before on the same fan and tried to do that. No luck. So I have been running 2 blades on there for a year or better. Time for a new fan.

I do that all the time Mini. lol
Haven't broken one to that extent though. But seems like lately every time I get dressed one of my arms ends up with a ceiling fan injury. lol
Well folks, I leave here in about 30 minutes. I going to attempt something that's very important to me. I need you prayers that God will give me the wisdom and knowledge I need, and for divine favor with the people there. I will let ya'll know how it all turns out when I get back.
Thanks in advance for the prayers.

Morning!
Morning y'all. The sun is shining, the birds are singing, God is in control and my cats are cute. So what more could I ask for?
Yes, yes, I know that, being a man, all my chest hair will fall out because I have said something is cute. I don't care, my cats are cute.
My shoulder/back is hurting so bad for the last few days that I can hardly function. Any prayers would be appreciated.
Psalm... Did you post a picture of the cats yet?
I'm ready to be off work for the day! 52 more minutes! Laundry and cleaning to do at home, and pack some stuff for the weekend trip!
Ann went to the ER yesterday cause of neck and back pain. It's caused her hand and arm to go numb. She has an MRI tomorrow to see what it is.
The cats are still in their tent-cage and any pics would be through the mesh. I'm not sure how long I should leave them there - they seem quite content where they are and don't even try to get out when I open the door to fill water/food or pet them. Anyone have any idea how long it takes a cat to establish a place as "Home?"
Purple Fuzzy any clue what the cause is? Compressed disk, pulled muscle, just stress in general?
When I brought Eboni home, I didn't keep her in a cage or anything. She was fine and has never run away. I got her when I moved into my first place, and we moved have now moved 8 times including to a new state.
These are outside cats who did not know me and if I turned them out in the carport as soon as I brought them home they might have promptly vanished. Your Eboni knows you and will probably stay wherever you live.
And besides, I have one remaining dog. Said dog is a big baby who would not hurt the cats, but the cats wouldn't know that. More incentive to disappear.
She definitely follows me EVERYWHERE. Sometimes it's annoying. I can't even go to the bathroom in the middle of the night without her following me. Currenly she is sitting at my feet.
There. Since no one else has- an APPROPRIATE new sharing thread is now up. :hypocrite:
