Title: It is hot as *cough* here
Post by: Scott on July 20, 2011, 12:36:03 AM
Yes it is as hot as the Amazon Rain forest here in Minnesota.

Heat continues this week

The huge high pressure ridge which is pumping hot air into Minnesota will stay locked in place this week.

The dew point Sunday reached an Amazon Jungle level 81 degrees at 9pm CDT. Official confirmation will have to wait for MN State Climate staff to return to work, but I believe this ties the all time highest dew point record for the Twin Cities!

Expect more highs in the 90s, and with tropically oppressive dew points in the upper 70s to near 80 degrees heat index values will again soar into the 110 to 115 degree range.
--------------------------------------------

In the Winter it can be -30 to -50 and in the summer 100 +

Minnesota is BiPolar weather wise, mood swings of 150 degrees between January and July!

Why oh Why did I move here?

Oh yeah, I was looking for a job, that's right.

We have somewhere around the same highs (if it gets over a hundred it's worth a newspaper article though... doesn't happen often or for long) but you can keep those lows.  Here itt very rarely gets below 0.

How does it get so hot, so far north?

Do you still have that job you moved up there for at least?

The devil's house usually is. I'm thinking of petitioning Congress for a new neighbor. Move Oklahoma somewhere else and a cooler state next door to Arkansas. Oklahoma keeps letting their heat escape and it comes to Arkansas. I've ran it outta the pea patch for the last time..... Maybe congress will let Minnesota ( the state, NOT the character) do a swap in the summer months.....

My air is out in my car and it's really, hot outside.  I stay really clean though because I take about 3 showers a day during the summer.  lol

Some times... I keep mine on low cool most of the time with some fans blowing to move the air around.

I lost my job last year after 6 months of sick leave. My employer waited until the federally mandated Family Medical Leave Act protection was up and laid me off.

A friend on facebook posted a picture of a sign that said "Satan called, he wants his weather back."

I've been blessed to be off work for the past two days so I have stayed inside. It's really hot and I'm seriously considering moving up North! Lol
