Very thought provoking question asked on the radio in the dentist office:
"How would you and your church react if Casey Anthony showed up for service this Sunday?"
Made me wonder: Would she be welcomed as a lost soul who needs Jesus? Would she be scorned and treated as an outcast? Would she be escorted out? Would she be the topic of the gossip between the pews in hushed whispers?
How would you react?
Who's Casey Anthony?
Honestly, I know the name and very little details about her, but have not read or saw anything about the trial.
I'm not sure reading anything about the trial in the media would be helpful or not. It got super hyped up. In the end she was found not guilty and the public is practically crucifying her thinking she did it.
Not that Casey Anthony is even a good person but... I wonder how much hype there was by the pharasees for Christ's crucifixion... I'm more disenchanted with how many people are ranting about it. Do they not have mind of their own that would wonder why the jurors, who aren't allowed to take in the media on it, gave a verdict of not guilty? As if any of us would come to a different conclusion if we had been there day in day out, hearing all the testimonies and seeing the people up close and personal.

Awesome point. Awesome awesome point.
What has really irritated me the last 2 days is how many Christians have posted on Facebook that "Casey Anthony should burn in he__" or that "she deserves to". The truth is we all deserve too, it's only by the Grace of God we aren't headed there ourselves.
she is human just like the rest of us. and no one knows the truth but her, the child and God.
i would treat her just like anyone else that walked in the door. sadly most that need what she needs in her life never get it because of the judgmental attitudes in churches.
not one human on earth knows the truth of what did or didnt happen. yes i believe she wasnt the best mother, but after that i cant say, i wasnt there.

Yep... saw the same thing. Really not something that would make someone want to come and meet the God they claim to serve!

I wouldn't have known anything if people hadn't of posted on FB about it.
I'm sure my church would welcome her with open arms as we do all visitors.
She'd be welcome into our Pastor's office after the service, and then given a first-time visitors gift.
In my opinion her soul is more important than her past. (Whether she did it or not). That's why we have the blood. To cover our sins and past mistakes.

I disagree with this. NO body has the power to judge but God himself.
I still don't know what this is all about. Oh well.
Hi ho, Google! Away!
I don't think I'd recognize her...and even if I did...who am I to judge?

That is a very good question. How would we react. I would hope that we would welcome her with open arm, love her and not judge her. We have to remember that this is a soul that is lost,! We have to have the love and comppassion that JESUS would have.
ask ourselves a question. If that was us, how would we want the church to treat us?
