Anyone interested?

So I was just out finishing the fowl tending for the evening, and some car comes down the road...radio playing pretty loud and such...it stops kinda down by our mailbox, then backs up into our drive, and pulls across into the turn around area in front of the barn across the road I thought it stopped there, but wasn't totally sure cause I didn't see completely.... I found them creepy and was sort of hiding...lol But anyways, heard their radio for just a bit, then it stopped...didn't see or hear anything else, went about a bit more fowl tending and checking things out, and then I fanned my flashlight across down that way and saw their taillights reflect, right in front of or almost pulled up into the barn shed down there (not our barn, just to clarify, or I'd have been even more freaked out lol).... Then in a minute, they turn the car back on, slam it in reverse and back up, then fly up the road like a bat out of Hootieville. :freaky:
I don't know what they were up to.
And then the freaky frightened part of me considers all sorts of scenarios.... Like when they first stopped down there... Are they gonna sneak up here and shoot me!? Or just shoot me from down there without sneaking up there? Are they stealing something down there? (I don't really think there's anything down there to steal in particular.) Are they dumping something out? An animal? And there's this girl that's been missing from Bloomington since like the 3rd of this month, and there is this big search going on and stuff....so I think, Oh my gosh, are they dumping her body!?
Paranoid, much? :smirk2:
So then I got the spotlight and shined down there, but I couldn't see anything out of the ordinary.

Cheese, ya should've snuck down there quietly and shot your shotgun in the air behind the car. It'd have been great fun, and they would never come back to bother you. :laughhard:
Guns tend to make people do weird things.... when Chey was a newborn, we had a neighbor that liked to play music loudly in his truck until 3 and 4 am. We live in the country so there was not a single thing the law could do about it. One night, after Chey and I had been awakened at 2 am to the sounds of pounding bass, I walked over quietly, walked up to his open window- he was sitting in the truck with his window down- and pointed my 357 at his stereo dash. I then calmly informed him that he'd wakened my newborn for the last time and he could turn it off or I'd blow it out of his dashboard. (When I spoke to him, it was the first knowledge he had of me being near). He turned the radio off. And although I'm sure it was unrelated (yeah, right), the gentleman moved the next week. I've never saw him again, and we've never been awakened by music at 2 am again. :laughhard:
Might not have been 100% legal, but if he'd called the cops, I knew them well, worked with them, and they'd have told him he was lucky I hadn't simply shot the stereo and walked off. I was NOT in the best Christian shape at that time. :laughhard:

I don't know why they picked there to stop, if it was some weird random thing like that....cause while it was dark down there, up here at the house, the outside lights were on, I was out running around with a flashlight, etc... And over at my uncle's house next door there's a dusk/dawn light in the front yard.....
I don't know what they were doing, but I'd like to know. lol

I have noticed there are some people who will always assume you are in a bad mood, always assume the worst possible interpretation of anything you might or might not say and if they can't twist something you said or did they will invent something else to be mad about. I do not understand these people and I can not figure out anything I can do about it, so I try to avoid them as much as possible. This is hard to do when I have to work with them directly. :-\

Sounds like an episode of Pickers! LOVE that show!
I'm up and over at Livis house today! My sweet baby! Can't wait till she wakes up.
I had crazy dreams about being at Seths house. He was taking me around the property showing me this chicken and that duck and whatever else he had, and resetting traps and finally we went into the house and I passed out asleep on this futon bed thing that was in the living room. When I woke up, Seth was at the table eating a BBP. Then we went back outside and I realized that we were at the UPCI campgrounds in Florida, and I got mad at Seth for not telling me he lived next door to the campgrounds! There is lots more little details and things that I don't quite remember, but it was pretty weird.

No need to get mad. You should've just asked. :P
Went and talked to the lawyer guy. He's telling dad that what the survey says is right, dad just still doesn't like it.
The remaining issue, is that he says the old legal descriptions are not good, and in order to have a "marketable deed," meaning one that you can transfer to someone in good standing, then the neighbor clan needs to sign a Quit Claim Deed to it so the new specific description can be recorded, or else it can be done without that through a longer and more costly affidavit procedure.
I understand the concept he's referring to. On one hand though, I don't really see why that HAS to be, since all the old deeds back to the origination do all agree and state the same thing. But due to the poor and ambiguous language that's not specific in measurements and points, I see what he's saying....
So the surveyor is supposed to be seeing about getting them to sign a Quit Claim.... Don't know if he has talked to them or not....
The other issue with that is that dad doesn't want to pay the surveyor. I went by the surveyor's office, he was out of town for the weekend, but talked to the guy that did the fieldwork here with him, he said he'd leave him a note for him to let the lawyer guy know if he talked to the neighbor clan about the Quit Claim or not.... And I had him let me look in our file, and I got a copy of what my dad keeps harping about having signed as a contract for $1,400, and is mad about because it's a lot more than that after it was all said and done....
Well, what he signed was the project proposal that stated +/- $1,650 as an estimate. That estimate was based on a simple survey of 5 acres more or less..... But this ordeal has turned into a drawn out issue of researching and reworking and 13+ acres. Hence the reason the estimate more than doubled in the final total. But that's right in the ballpark of the going rate for any survey of this nature. So I don't know what peace dad will ever come to about that. He thinks that price is all part of the big conspiracy against him.
Now saying all that, that sounds complicated to follow, but honestly, if you have, know, and see all the pieces of this puzzle, it truly is actually quite simple and the resolution to it all would be very simple if people would just calm down and act like they've got some sense...."people" meaning my dad mainly at this point. And I don't know what the neighbor clan will say about the Quit Claim issue. If they were sensible, they should agree to sign one because it's obvious that it's not their's anyways. But I don't know if they will prefer to be cantankerous about it or not.
The long and the short of it is, this place is ours, period. There's just some legal paperwork that needs clarification for the record. (And dad needs to come to terms with the survey fees and such.)
:smirk2:
Sorry you are having to deal with that Seth. Glad its you though, not me.

Mel is dreaming about Seth again....... Oh JOHN!!!!
So dad noticed I had taken the deed & survey papers with me...so he wanted to know what I went and did...and proceeded to have his SAME OLD TIRADE again..... Good lord!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He won't believe a surveyor. He won't believe me. He won't believe an attorney. And every one of us has told him and explained the exact same thing.
He'll fish through the papers, trying to make it say something it doesn't...and I'll TRY to explain it, and he'll seem to calm down about it relatively in the end.
But then later, at an undisclosed time, he'll fire up about it again when something sparks his memory of it and he'll go through the same old thing again like no prior discussions and explanations have ever happened.
He swears it's a big conspiracy and all this junk. It's because he has come to hate the neighbors/relatives so bad that he's so mad at them that he just won't face facts and let anything go.
Good grief.

Got an email from the CVS Minute Clinic....one thing on there was a tick preventative article.... Part of it talking about avoiding ticks talks about staying out of the grass, out of the shade, out of wet areas, don't sit on stone walls....basically, just hide and don't go outside. lol...
But then this part about checking yourself for them and what to do if you find them.....
Check for and Remove Ticks
The tick usually must be attached to your skin for at least 24-48 hours for the bacteria to get into your bloodstream. To ensure quick removal of any attached ticks you should:
* Do frequent tick checks, including a naked, full body exam when returning from the outdoors.
* If you find any ticks, do the following:
o With fine-point tweezers, grab the tick at the place where it is attached, next to the skin.
o Gently pull the tick straight out.
o Save the tick in a small vial and mark the date.
o Wash your hands and clean the tweezers with alcohol.
o Report the bite to your doctor.
o Watch carefully for any signs of Lyme disease, especially a rash at the site of the bite and/or fever; symptoms usually appear within 30 days of the bite.
How long do you save the tick?
I am tick free and headed to bed. I'm sleepy. Really sleepy.
Got Livi again tomorrow, I should have been asleep an hour ago.
I've always just tweezed them off and lit them on fire. You can't smash them or drown them. Fire sanitizes them.
I've always just torn them in two. Then they are dead for sure. Nothing else seems to work - I can mash them and mash them and they keep crawling.
Slow day today, easy to keep up. I should have brought a book to read. :P
They can grow new bodies.
Now Seth, don't start feelling itchy.
I've felt itchy for days. :P
Been going through the incubator.
Then I went out and did a security sweep of the premises. Hopefully the major predator assault that was going on is over for now, with 3 coons and 1 possum out of the picture within 5 days time, it seems to have slowed down, so hopefully those were the culprits that were coming around. Obviously, there's plenty more coons and possums in the woods...but hopefully the repeat offenders are all deceased at the moment.
There does appear to be a herd of cats over on the hill back cattycorner (no pun intended) from the house.... Maybe my sister's cats...I dunno..... lol
Long busy day today. Funeral for the lady that passed away. Not looking forward to it...
Wow. What a LONG NIGHT! I'm not complaining, it wasnt bad, but everytime I woke up, it was like 2, 3, 4...I still had hours left and they seemed to DRAG by!

I know. Where I spread the poo over the winter and was going to put a garden, the grass was so tall and thick - greenest grass on the place. I would've spread this down there in that area, but that's waiting to be cut for hay, so I didn't want to tromp around and throw it all out on that...so just pitched it out in another spot.

Oh, and just so y'all know one more time.....THE MIATA AIN'T PINK!

:laughhard:
:waving:
Ain't it neat what you can do with PhotoShop's hue slider? You can even make a pink car look purple. :D
Or did you use GIMP instead?
I actually found this pic on a miata website. A guy :o was showing off his new paint job. That is an untouched, undoctored photo of a car that resides in Kentucky. I'd be ashamed to drive it, but more to the point- I'd be afraid to drive it around here. Be a butt whuppin' a day for a man driving that. :laughhard: I might would make an exception if it had a large v8- it'd be fun to humiliate the local Mustangs in a major chick car. :biglaugh:

Yep. Been doing that alot lately. You ready to peruse piles of junk?
Oh, and good morning all on GP........ My ultimate goal today is to push Mini into buying something- anything, but preferbly a car or truck- that he doesn't need. :hypocrite: Secondary goal is for ME to buy something I don't need. :laughhard: I will check in on y'all later....... :waving:
Oh, and John- you really should be here......... I'm drinking sodas and eating weird combonations of food like they're going outta style this week... you'd feel right at home. :laughhard:
My goal is to keep Chelleebelle from bankrupting me. :ugly:
Had a coyote snared this morning....groady. Nasty ticks on the hideous beast.... Good lands.....
I had 2 more ticks on my person last night.... :reaction:
I'm gonna scream.
I put Wiley...or Wilette I think it was, in a sack (without touching hardly mind you) and put it on the trunk of the car and drove it away....
You might be a redneck if....you use the top of the trunk of your Toyota Corolla like the bed of a pickup truck.
A true redneck would have the pickup truck instead of the corolla. We have a coyote that prowls around the back yards right here in town, you can have it too if you want it. It is making me a bit nervous to ride my bike to work these days.
Howdy y'all. Today is my day of rest and I intend to. Mostly I'll work on music stuff (gonna learn how to play "Say a prayer"... maybe) and maybe clean up a bit around here, maybe not.
Gone Fishin!
Oh yeah, five-oh - using a pic of someone else's miata and claiming your car isn't pink? You know Newsman and etc. are going to make hay out of that one. You're going to get a lot of flack on that, probably something like "He's so ashamed of his pink miata that he resorts to posting a pic of someone else's as his" or something. Just so you know.
Eureka!
Bob, I would love to bhe there with y'all, but the wife just refuses to go anywhere with me!

Coyotes do eat cats....watch your back.....
Went to a funeral of a lady from Sanders Church. Home. Back in my ragged clothes.
Coyote might eat a house cat. A lynx would give it some trouble though.
I just made some homemade chocolate pudding, experimental batch #37. Used real butter, twice as much as the recipe thought I should use, some heavy cream in place of part of the milk, and for cocoa I melted in some 85% cocoa chocolate bars. Came out very good, but I didn't have enough cocoa in it for the size batch I made so I added some Torani cocoa syrup.
Now I have eaten too much and I think I'll eat a bit more in a minute, so I'm going to be hyper from the chocolate and stuffy sinuses from the dairy. Totally worth it. :D
Our day of EPIC porportions has came to an end. Speaking only for our end of the last several hours- absolutley, without a doubt, one of the best meet ups of new friends in my life. We met for breakfast, and then Lou and chellebelle took the kiddos and bailed for a day of shopping.
Mini and I then bailed for Petit Jean, the car show and the scenery. We took a few pics, and I found out the hard way that a trail that I remembered as being somewhat level and short- was not. Last time I had walked it, I was fifteen. Now, 19 years and 60 pounds later, the trail has apparently been a victim of seismic activity and rose several feet, becoming very steep. :laughhard:
After surviving that, Mini and I cruised the county in Rusty, and Mini even drove him a bit.
I'll have to wait until tomorrow at work with fast internet to post a few of the pics I've got, but trust me when I say that if ever a visit has been of epic porportions- this one was. :waving:
Too much chocolate! :hyper:

Been shopping at Sam's Club with Chel.
Please tell Chel sorry for the confusion. I forgot to specify your elder daughter.
And is Sam's Club really worth the membership price? I've heard good and bad, sometimes from the same person. We have one around here but I've never been, but I might. Knowing you folks, if you go it might be worth it.

Just went out and did a Security Sweep. Which means prowling around in my pajamas with a light and a gun. lol Checking to see if anything is in any of the traps, and scanning the area for any eyes in the night that are attached to a body that needs shot. :P There was a deer, and what I think must've been a cat....it was in the tall grass, and I couldn't ever tell for sure, but I gave it the benefit of the doubt that it was just a cat from it's position and such. :smirk2:

Tarred.
Got home from Roscoes about 10:30. Was up late studying. Finally got to bed, then at 4:30 this morning, our neighbors got into a fight. A loud, expletive laced screaming, hollering, tear out of the house, wake all the neighbors, and then go speeding off in your piece of junk car fight. We live in a quiet neighborhood, surrounded by older couples. 1 (count it), 1 rent house. And our neighbor rented it to his daughter. And it was the daughters family that was having the brawl.
A little bit of advice. Your point is better made after a fight when 1) you have a car that does not have a 4 or 6 cyl, and not stock exhaust. You want it to rumble good, not sound like a muffled bumble bee when you tear out of your driveway. 2) When you are mad, thrashing your car to show you are right makes you look more like a idiot. 3) The more cussing you do at 4 in the morning the stupider you look.
Soooo.....I am fueled on coffee this morning. The poor church that is having me today may get a 4 hour message that makes no sense...or a 15 minute one that makes no sense...either way, I am on par.

Yum I can imagine how good those ducks will taste with a nice crispy crust on them.
Just finished my assignment. Could really use your prayers for understanding when it comes to my current class. Learning even a fake programming language is like learning Chinese to me. Sigh.......
Maybe those Asian people could've helped you... :P They were both very American, though I think they probably may have been from wherever they were from when they were kids - I base this assumption on the fact that I talked to his or her mother, I forget who exactly, or something on the phone, and she definitely had an accent.
The lady was very adement (I can't spell that lol) about pointing out that she would take good care of them and not hurt them. lol
Eating them wont hurt them they are already dead when you cook them. lol

LOL I was surfing the web for world missions pictures and this came up!
Went to church, went to a restaurant, came home, went to church, came home. When you ferry kids to and from church there is so, so, so much drama. Everything is cataclysmic. If a kid left her sunglasses at church it is the end of the world.
So I snapped a few pics, found out this camera is strictly plug-and-play easy to get pics from it to the computer, now I just have to figure out how to get them on the forum per someone's request. I heard the name photobucket mentioned, guess that'll be my first attempt.
Oh and Babs, the readers aren't the only ones high - the price on that magazine seems a bit high too, for that year. :biglaugh:
Hello!!! Happy Fathers Day to all the men who have children...
That leaves me out, I'm not even married. Of course these days that sometimes has little to do with it...
The following is a test:
That's where I work, on the catching end of the furnace line. Those parts are what I have to pick up with thick gloves, leak check on a vacuum tester, look them over to make sure the braze filled in all the cracks, put them in a tub, spray them with oil and keep a count of how many there are.
Well whataya know, it works!
The following is the requested pics, plus a couple others.
My Sunday best:
I LOVE those black leather shoes!
A better look at those shoes I love:

My work shoes - coincidentally, photo was taken at work:
The bottom of my work shoes:
Speaking of work, this is the furnace end of the conveyor belt. Dante would have a fit.
2050 degrees F in there, give or take 25 degrees. The flame jets are just to burn off the outside air before it ruins the furnace atmosphere. The real heat comes from electric elements.
One more pic, the view from the sound booth:
More than half the pews are hidden by the sound booth wall so the sanctuary doesn't look as big as it is. Everyone comments how nice it looks, and they all remark on the size of the room, but I tell them when you're looking at it from behind a vacuum cleaner "big" and "nice" are mutually incompatible.
Isaac, this begs the question: Do you wear any socks or do you have to wear toe socks?

Isaac, this begs the question: Do you wear any socks or do you have to wear toe socks?
No socks, and no sweaty feet as a result of wearing no socks. These things have a good lining. You should wash them though, maybe once a week, maybe more often.
How do leather shoes hold up to washing once a week?
Don't know, I haven't had them that long. I only wear them to church though, so I won't be washing them that often. The work shoes I wear every day except Sunday, I'll be washing them more than once a week.
Next pair I buy will be some Komodo Sport. That will probably be about it for me for now, five pairs should do for anything.
Speaking of other kinds, this is the Bikila LS I got most recently. NOT recommended.
I cannot recommend these because they have no strap around the heel. You'll notice my "dress" shoes (the leather ones) and my work shoes both have a strap that circles the heel, comes up the side and across the instep. This takes up any slack at the heel instead of at the toe where the extra space is in normal shoes. In toe shoes you want slack taken up at the heel so your toes will stay in the toes. With the Bikila LS (and normal Bikila for that matter) tightening up like normal shoes, the toes keep slipping out. Not good.
The speaker system you see behind the shoes is my current pride and joy. Awesome sound. No CD player, no cassette player, no big hokey light that lights up when you turn on SUPER BASS, just a serious set of speakers in a box with multiple inputs... and an FM radio, but that seems like an afterthought. Almost half the weight of my Sony Xplod speakers, almost twice the price and almost twice the volume.
:hi: Morning.
We went to Cracker Barrel last night - and I saw this sign that was for "succulent peaches" haha...I thought of Seth and Mel....I shoulda took a picture of it....
Why yes, you should've. :o
Eggs shipping to California and Minnesota today...
And I suprisingly won an auction that I threw a bid on last night for Pumpkin Hulsey game fowl eggs... It still had like 5 hours left real late last night when I bid on it, and I figured somebody would outbid me before it went off...but lo and behold, they didn't. :freaky:
Maybe nobody else knew what Pumpkin Hulsey game fowl are and didn't want to take a chance on getting some ravenous bird that would attack them and eat their other fowl.
Howdy y'all. I've been lying in bed, awake, debating if I should get up for the last half hour or so. Finally did.

Not all three together I hope...
My life, it just got a bit weirder. Sunday night Children's Church people are decamping, they're gonna be the new youth leaders, so I was asked to take Sunday night. Gonna have to pray about that.
Daunting...
I had an incredible weekend! My brother was here all weekend, we prayed together Friday night, and Saturday he preached for our youth service. He did great! Sunday morning, their Tahoe got broken into at the hotel and they stole a bunch of stuff. Then they had an encounter with an Angel. My cousin brought an amazing fathers day message, and after church we all went to the Catfish place and had an awesome lunch.
The weekend was perfect. I am blessed.
I have Pot Roast in the oven now, and I'm fixing to take a shower and get ready for our Bible study class tonight.
And yes Jenn, you totally should have taken the picture!
I don't want to be at work when my gals are at home. :(

Give it time- God has a way of making it possible for you to get on a shift that won't take ANY of your church time. Lou's job tends to have varying days and hours, yet God has worked it around until she has senority there and now she's always off on Sundays, and early enough on Wednesdaysand through the week that she never misses a service.

Cooked down a pork roast yesterday and shredded it up. Used it today to put together a huge pot of Jambalaya. Smells great wish it was done already. lol
Got an A on that assignment I turned in the other day. Getting an A is good but I would feel much better about it if I understood how and why I made and A. lol
I have pork country style ribs in the crock pot, and gonna serve it with the leftover veggies I cooked last night.
Gonna be great. Smells great.
You guys are making me hungry. :fork:
Mel, what's the difference between country style and BBQ pork ribs?

Today is one of those days where it rains softly all day. Good for taking long naps. :)
Unfortunately I can't because something in me keeps wanting to pick apart this song "Say a prayer" and learn how to play it.

Country style is technically not a rib, it's a piece of the butt roast cut into strips. They are virtually boneless. You can BBQ them, but I put them in the crockpot with some of my own sauce concoctions and cook them all day.
Delicious.
Stuff.
Nonsense.

I've got some in the crock pot now, too. BBQ sauce, worchestershire sauce, garlic, dry mustard, garlic, a tad of tomato juice.... pretty good sauce concoction on them now. They smell good.....

If your kid got sick enough to require a trip to the emergency room, I can understand that. But when someone is late just because he doesn't care, when he knows he is keeping me waiting, when he doesn't even have the decency to apologize when he finally gets there... that's just plain rude.
Rant over. Think I'll get some sleep before I say something I'll have to repent of later.

For the record though, I am in fact caucasian. Did you imagine I was black?
I am aware of the toe socks, but in the previous comment you talked about not wearing them, that is when it actually clicked in my head that I possibly seen ~ non sock covered foot ~
Also the answer is yes.
I had a weird dream that I met a tall, skinny, and handsome black man. With a very BIG Afro.

WHY WHY WHY text someone wanting to know if they are up if you don't want anything?! At least TALK to me for a few minutes! Sheesh!
I don't ask anyone if they are up unless I need them to be up so I can converse with them about something!

We're talking about meeting in Sikeston on Saturday to just hang out. He was originally going to come down here to see me this weekend, but BP changed all that. I'm going up next weekend Fri-Mon so I didn't want to do that trip two weekends in a row, especially while my grandma is here. That trip is exhausting in the same day! Lol.. Seth, not sure about all bugs but flies, mosquitos & gnats hate the smell of basil. People will grow it beside their houses & have potted plants of it by their doors.

Morning, all. My last day off- got tons of things to do... I've gotta see about glue for the vinyl I've got to put down in Chey's room, run by one of the State offices with papers for Mama's nursing home, and assorted other things. Speaking of vinyl flooring- We took Rusty to pick it up yesterday. Nearly there, Chey began screaming and beating her Mama with a toy. Lou begans screaming and standing up. At 55 mph, in a cab that, Mini can confirm, is not very big at all. I have nowhere to pull over. It seems a bee had flown in the window and landed on the seat, nearly under Lou's left leg. When Lou noticed it, her screaming, shouting, and repeated "JESUS" yellings would've put the Mississippi Squirrell Revival to shame. The bee, sadly was DOA. I nearly was, because I'd been too busy laughing to pull off the road and Lou was considering getting even.
After buying the vinyl, about halfway home, it became apparenty the vinyl was too long and needed to be held in the truck bed. So I got to ride in the back of a near 70 year old truck, with my wife ( possibly the world's worst driver) driving. I'd reccomend it if you're having problems touching God. Trust me, 3 miles and you'll be prayed through and moving on to intervention for someone. :laughhard:
Well, dear lord...at some point in recent time, something has scraped the paint off the back corner of my car bumper. :-?
Matches the dented hood and cracked windshield good I guess.
Its probably the kinfolk of all the animals you have run over. They are attacking your vehicles at night. Could be whats was prowling around your house....
That's very possible.
Lord.
Howdy y'all. Nice day today.
I have absolutely nothing I have to do before work today. Maybe I'll clean up a bit around the house. Maybe I'll get some music tracks laid down.
Or maybe I'll just piddle around and get a lot of nothing done. We'll see.

Lord.
I went to a church that was way back in the woods once. I mean they had to pipe in sunshine to this place. The congregation was made up of mostly older women who were widows. They all sat together on the first two or three pews. Well right in the middle of the preaching I heard one say very loudly "I'm hungry", the next thing I heard from the other end of the same pew was "You want a sandwich?". Then she pulled out a bag of sandwiches and started passing them down the pew. Right in the middle of the sermon they just broke out a picnic. Another old lady started pulling out Little Debbie snack cakes, at that point I considered joining them. lol
:laughat:
Wow. :fork:
Well. Tended fowl and such. The wrestler girl's duck she brought back was very sweet and people-oriented.... Another lady that came this evening took him home with her, I think the little booger will have a nice home there...she has 4 other ducks, and took him and a baby I had....
I hate these stupid grain mites and will be glad glad glad when they're gone.....or hopefully gone....after I get all the feed stockpile finally fed out...blah.
Went to work, came home. Our local convenience store makes a large supreme pizza for $8 that is more than an inch thick. Two slices at supper time and I'm still full.
It should be against the law to wake up before daylight.
Blah.
Keeping Parker today.
I agree, Mel. But it isn't, in fact, for me it's required. Back at work on my monday. Didn't sleep real well last night, didn't feel the greatest.... Hope everyone has a great day! :waving:
Park is still asleep, I think I'll lay on the couch and see if I can doze off too.
Mel, there is a scripture for that, if someone woke you up.
Prov. 27:14 He who blesses his friend with a loud voice (ringtone), rising early in the morning, It will be counted a curse to him.
Kids wanted something different for breakfast so I'm supervising them working together to make pancakes. :)
Supposed to be cool out much of the day. What oh what can I do? Wish I had a garden or yard to mow.
Hi :hi:
I actually got a nap for about an hour.
Now Park and I are snuggled on the couch eating fruit loops and watching Veggietales. :bigcheese:

If tending your 'pot'ted plants is not enough, come out here and mow my yard. :P
Well....the Pumpkin Hulsey eggs arrived...but I don't hold out much hope for them. :( No breakage shellwise, but the air cells in them look awful.... One is busted, so it's sure to be a dud....the others are "intact" but pulled loose terribly....I'm not so sure but what some of the yolks may even look like they're scrambled.... I dunno. I'll set em, but I don't have high hopes for their development after seeing them. :(
Oh the curses of postal handling.
Awww. Hopefully some will hatch.
It's possible....but man, some look cruddy.... The air cells in shipped eggs do often suffer. These look like they suffered particularly badly. That's not always a deal breaker as long as they're not actually popped.... The coloration inside some of them scares me though, not sure if the yolks are intact or not. Oh well. At this point, I can't do anything but try them out. :smirk2:
And next time I can just wipe my behind with my money instead of buying shipped eggs.... Makes me sound like an awful hypocrite though, cause I'm an egg-shipping fool. lol
:smirk2:
is that preventable Seth or even with all the cushion do they still get shaken to a dangerous level?
I think it's usually just the shaking and jarring that they endure. I think even if they're well cushioned in the package, the fact that the box is moving and shaking and being jarred is what does that to them. Even if they're packed securely and the individual eggs are not moving, when the whole package is moving, it's going to shake the innerds of the eggs....
I hate buying shipped eggs. lol Which again, I say makes me feel like a hypocrite. LOL I've shipped at least 31 packages of eggs so far this season, everywhere from California to Rhode Island and Minnesota to Puerto Rico. lol And that one guy was supposed to be having his friend take them from California to Israel. lol
Howdy y'all. Another day, another dollar, another song for me to holler. Think I'll order some more Fire Choir and Gateway albums.
My boy is eating a corndog, and I'm about to have a turkey and cucumber sandwich and hopefully he will take a nap. Lol
Your boy, or your sandwich?
My boy. He is the one who will benefit from a nap. Not my sandwich.
Oh, okay.
Actually, I think YOU are the one hoping to benefit. :P

I wonder how many people under 40 really understand what it means to be poor. I wonder what will happen if they find out, will they survive?
Secondary observation: The less money you have, the better you are able to identify true priorities and needs. Hopefully.
DISCLAIMER: The previous observation was not directed at anybody here, just an observation of people in general around where I live. Right. I have someone that's kin that has this fancy smart phone and other things and they are always out of money for food etc. They have things I wish I had, but not bad enough to waste the money on it.
Also have one that we kept giving things, like washer and dryer etc cause she didnt have one. Asked her the other day where it was and she had given it to her son cause he didn't have one. I've decided some folks you can't help. They are a bottomless pit and no matter what you do to help them get out of the hole, they will give it away or something.
And someone else I know "needs food" but manages to buy cigarettes! Grrrrr!

Didn't you say something about camping lately?
I think a bunch of us should have a meetup at a camping SCA event not too far north of the PAPM Trooper in October!

:o How far north? And when in October? Lou's wedding anniversary is the 17th..... not sure if she has plans yet.
And good morning, everyone. Such a pleasant morning. Oh, and least you think you slipped it by, Sir John- you'll look down right stylish cruisin' that Chrysler 300. :great:Quote from: minnesota68 on June 24, 2011, 11:27:53 AM
Long night in the church firework stand. Stayed all night.
Stayed all night in the a/c...
Oh, and it's a gleaming deep black Chrysler 300. I'm wearing black dress shirt and pants, black dress shoes, and will be adding a black & gold tie with a light goldish camel hair sport coat- McAlester colors are black and gold, and I am the radio voice of the Buffaloes.
Now, if I can just fool them into thinking I know what I'm talking about. Levaing shortly, as I have a few stops to make before leaving, and need to be up there early to sign about 100 award certificates. I'm supposed to be presenting as well, but that part is 'supposed' to be easy, with the AP broadcast editor helping me keep plaques and certificates going.
Kind of cool-I have looked forward to having this post for several years. God has been more than good to the Grumpyest of the Grumpye!
John the Blessed :waving:
Have fun, John.
Morning, folks :hi:
Going to town....lord.
You taking the pony?
Hes got plenty of feathers.
But does he have a hat?
Mini, what was the name of the other GPer we met at the OK campmeeting? She had her husband or boyfriend with her. I know we all took a picture but since my computer crashed a few months back, I may have lost it. :-\ I'm terrible with names but wondered how she was doing?
It's a nice day here also. I'm ok with the heat until it gets close or over 100°, then I'm not so chipper.
I currently have NO weeds in my flower bed or containers. Just a thriving tomato plant, some carrots that I'm not sure when to harvest, cayenne & chili peppers, cilantro, basil, & flowers. :hypocrite:
Mellow--Her name is Tara. I talked to her a week or so ago and they seem to be doing well!
ah, that's right! Oh good! That's awesome to hear. Thanks!
Howdy y'all. Looks like it's gonna be a good day today.
Sure hope it's better than yesterday. A breaker tripped somewhere and the leak checker, the fans and MY MUSIC all turned off. On the furnace line you need those fans. They couldn't find the breaker that tripped. Three guys who were supposed to know this stuff were wandering around for hours with a voltage tester, tracing cables up the wall, across the ceiling... When I left at midnight they still hadn't found it.

That was the best 4 day vacation trip I've ever took, from Springfield, Missouri to Bristow, Oklahoma on Route 66. Just puttered along and took three days to do what I could've done in 5 hours. :laughhard:
How long of a trip was that? About 10 miles, like usual? :P
Went to town, egg dropped, etc....

The motorcycle museum- is that the place that's got tons of Steve McQueen memorabalia? "Vintage Cycles" or some such? I've got a shirt from there,( nearly caused one of my fellow bikers to wreck when i saw the place). And just past Miami is the 9 foot wide stretch of asphalt on 66, I believe. I've got a chunk of the pavement from that stretch of the old highway as a paperweight and a souveneir..... They were doing some road repairs when we went through, and we missed the Ku Ku burger. I'm planning on running that route again in Rusty sometime in the next year or two....maybe even drag Mini along as cameraman.
That's the one...Vintage Cycles. Always TONS of bikers there stopping in on their way through.
I mowed the yard earlier...without any help from dear old MelodyA.... And here I thought she loved "grass."
*cough*
Tended fowl and all that jazz.
Tried to get the live trap limbered up....because this morning something took the bait and didn't throw the trap, because the lever thingy didn't slide like it was supposed to, so tried to slick that up so it would...
And when I say "took the bait," I literally in every sense of the term mean that it took the bait... It was a plastic dish (like cottage cheese carton or whatever) with broken up dog biscuits in it... And it took the dish and everything. I didn't search for it, I don't know if it left it anywhere nearby or not. LOL  Argh.
I miss you, too, Mel. :( *Hug*
So sick of allergies right now. Ugh. My eyes are burning non-stop. The sinus stuff I could deal with easier if my eyes didn't feel like someone was rubbing sand in them. :frustrated:
Other than that... It's a lovely life. ;)
Went to mom and dad's today for a while. Chris helped dad out with a bunch of mowing and weed-eating. Since dad has been dealing with ongoing health issues for the last few months, it's been really difficult for him to do yard work and other more physical labor. (As a side note, you know you married a really wonderful man when he volunteers to help your dad with yucky jobs.) ;)
Played several games of Boggle and Scategories with my men. I beat them. ;) :hypocrite:

Mini: you're a Farmall fanatic right? If so... I thought of you today. A truck in front of me had. "I Farmall" on its back window!
Meeting my bf tomorrow for a date. Super glad to see him tho I wish it was already next weekend so I could see him longer than a few hours!!
I keep thinking I have work in the AM. but I don't!!
WOW! What a day!
Parker was pretty good today till other children got involved. Sister Ramsey DID come and get us for lunch, and she brought my cousins Jaylen (11), Preston (9), and Brayden (7), with her so she could take all of us to McDs and to the park to play. OY. Parker pitched a FIT at McDs, and suddenly _I_ was one of those mothers who have that child in public who was unruly and you get the looks and the stares from the other people in the store. I had to scoop him up and carry him screaming and kicking to the bathroom TWICE and talk to him. Then we got to the park and it was WAAAY too hot to play on anything. Place was deserted, and they tried to climb and slide and such but couldn't touch anything! It was too hot! But Parker screamed and pitched a fit there too, when we tried to leave. Then he had a screaming fit at Sonic too when we got drinks. We got back to the house for some VERY LOUD and rough indoor basketball with the boys for about an hour, and then he promptly had another meltdown when they all had to leave. Then, although exhausted and cranky, he didn't want to nap, so I let him stay awake. About five minutes before his mother came home, he had crawled into my lap and passed out.
Yeah. I was REALLY tired after that ordeal. But I had to go to teach two of my kids the signs for our song on Sunday. Then I still had to go to WM.
I'm home now, and tired, but I don't want to go to bed. So here I am. Eventhough I have to get up at 5:30 and help sell donuts for the Youth. Then we are going to the space museum / IMAX theatere in Mobile.
LONNNNG day ahead, but I'm excited!
*HUGS* Ruby again. ;)
So there you have it. My share.
That is all. :D
Went to work, came home. Boss asked me to do 3rd shift next week so I'll be sleeping some odd hours from here on out. I made it clear 3rd shift tears me up and he promised it would only be for one week.
He'd better appreciate this...
Oh...I forgot to mention that I ALMOST found a bus stop today. But I decided I could walk and not wait for the bus. :smirk2:
I was in the kitchen, and Parker followed me, I turned to come back out and he was right there in front of me, and wanting me to pick him up...I knew he wanted in the candy bucket so I made him walk backwards into the living room before I would pick him up, when I DID pick him up, my ankle popped and disjointed, and I ALMOST fell on it, with Parker in mid air as I was lifting him. THANKFULLY, I was able to set him back down and took two steps over to the couch and sat. Then he came up into my lap cause he still wanted me to hold him.
I shudder to think what would have happened if my ankle gave out completely in that moment. I could have hurt my little guy!
Worked most of the day on a programming assignment. I have determined it would be easier to learn some mutant hybrid language of Chinese, Japanese, and Pig Latin than to completely figure out Pseudocode.
Now I MUST go to bed!

Weelll, if I complain somebody's gonna tell me it's 114° where they are or something...lol Actually 90° isn't bad at all to me. Detassling in Iowa, when it's around 100°, humid and no breeze, working, is a bit too much for my liking. Nothing's ever been as bad as that so far where I've been.
It's thunderstorming right now so no garage sale. I'm kind of relieved, they didn't have it together anyway. I like to be somewhat spontaneous but some things need a bit more organization/communication. I should just go back to bed.

Morning!
I had an amazing day yesterday, but I was so exhausted I didn't even bother posting.
Still tired now, but I have 15 minutes left right now before my alarm goes off, and I have been awake for awhile.
Guess I'll go ahead and get an early start on my shower and such.
Exhausted is something I can also look forward to. I slept yesterday afternoon and evening, and was up all night. 3rd shift stinks, and I haven't even started it yet. :/
:hi:
Morning, all. Back at work. Today's potluck at church- I 'll miss the service, but should get there just in time to eat. :fork: Had a wonderful time last night- my pastor and his wife took Lou and I out to dinner at our favorite Italian resturaunt, complete with the most awesome cheesecake ever made. :waving:
Saaaaaay, how do I get in on that? Cheesecake is always acceptable if it's homemade.
I have discovered how to stay awake during 3rd shift. Go to Jack's fast food restaurant and order a cappuccino shake. It's not on the menu and they might look at you funny, but it's just a large shake with half Bluebell chocolate ice cream and half hot black coffee. Coffee melts ice cream, ice cream cools down coffee and you're left with kind of an iced mocha cappuccino, only a lot creamier. :)
w2cchasasasasasas.
Isaac, it wasn't home-made, technically, but I'd love to have the resturaunt's reciepe. It was almost too rich to eat. :fork: Lou and I stumbled across this little hole in the wall resturaunt on a "date night" a couple of years ago, and loved it. One of those places you have to know where it's at to find it, nearly. We took our pastor and his wife out to eat there, they enjoyed it, and now it's become the four of us' place. We wind up going there together every few months, and it's always a treat. :thumbsup2: I've never tasted bad food there either and never failed to order the cheesecake. :biglaugh:

It was just a lot of and such..... :smirk2:
Worked on my new quail, or whatever, cage...bout done with it....
Sold a couple turkeys, a few guineas, some quail, and some chicks today.... The guy that got the chicks kind of got on my nerves. He wanted females, well, I told him my best estimate of how many females I had, so he's like great, I'll come get em... So he gets there and I'm showing him the birds and explaining what I believe in my best estimate to be females.
The ones in question are cuckoo or barred in color pattern - aka black & white striped feathers in other words. And you can tell by their color, even from hatch with a little comparison, male from female with decent accuracy based on the color of them - females are darker, males have more white (even as adults that is true with those color patterns.)
And he's like "they all look like roosters to me." And "they all look the same." I'm trying to point out the color distinctions, and he's like oblivious. And he thought they all looked like roosters because they all had "cones" or "crowns" - he could figure out what to call their combs. :smirk2:
So I show him the adults. And he's like, oh...they do all have "cones."
But anyways, he bought several...all the ones that I thought were most likely females as well as males or more likely so.
But I was kind of wondering if I was going to have to slap him for him acting like I didn't know what I was talking about..... It was obvious that HE didn't....Mr. Cone Crown man that doesn't know that a hen has one. Lord.
lol
I made it clear that that was my best estimate based on those color traits. Also hens of those color patterns usually have darker black coloration on the front of their legs and toes.
I was like, I'm not making this stuff up. It's the only way you can tell at this age unless you know how to vent sex them.
Anyways.....
I digress. :P

Why are you pillaging Houston Indiana? Looks like a spot on the map where nothing really exist. Why pillage there?
I said we were going to pillage a small village.
So I considered various little bump in the road burgs around, and just decided upon that one. lol
We're ameatures here, give us a break! And I can never spell amateur either.....

Weirdo!!!!!!!!
It's been a long night, I have a tooth ache where there is no tooth, my fan decided to make the loudest screeching noise possible at 4am and then quit working. Gonna make another attempt at sleep. I hope it works!!!
Good morning y'all.
SHARING: I went to my first piano lesson with my new teacher and found out the way I was playing (chording with thumb and first two fingers) was wrong. I can see how it will work better the right way, but it'll take a lot of practice to overcome muscle memory. The problem is, my former teacher wasn't even a teacher - just a really good piano player who didn't seem to notice I was playing the wrong way. I did learn a lot from my former teacher but this is going to be hard to overcome.
Good (3rd shift) night y'all.
:pound:
Good Morning, everyone. It's my day off, so I'm just getting up. Gonna put a giant potroast and veggies on in the slowcooker and then work on chey's flooring. And while the weatherman said there's a slight chance for rain, I really didn't believe him, until I took the dog out a minute ago. It looks and feels like it might rain. We need it, even though I'm not too fond of rainy days. If it does rain, I believe this will be me, if you add a good book: :sofachair:
And.....that is all. :cophat:

Finally saw my car note go below 10,000! Exciting!! Haha.. Now this other debt!
I think I just now got that picture, Seth. LOL I thought people actually put in a recorded message and then I was like, how are they going to do that or hear it over the hot air?
Duh me! :laughhard:
I think I'll make another apple pie today. It's a wonder I'm not obese, really. :fork:
maybe I can get some Jewish eggrolls somewhere...
just had a good ole health discussion on FB. This time with "healthy" people. No one God made natural food can be demonized. Our bodies are a system and many things come into play when it comes to our health. There's no quick fix for our spirit, mind or body. It takes balance and diligence. I haven't perfected it by a long shot but it's still a good sense truth.
I had a weird dream last night and was going to post about it earlier but didn't have time. The only part I remember right now was we found this baby bird and some other baby animal in a car that the windows were open on. I picked it up and said we need to ask Seth what kind of bird this is, it looks like a partridge... but it was as big as a full grown small chicken and when I picked it up I had to hold it with both hands, *SMH*
Yay, you dreamed of me.

Yay, you dreamed of me.
Probably not the first lady to do so- I'm sure you've given many women nightmares. :freaky2: :laughhard:
I dreamed of a family reunion. It was weird.
And I haven't been dreaming much to tell of lately. I used to always be the weird dreamer. You other weirdos are catching up to me.
More like maybe you're rubbing off on them...you and your weird dreams....
Good (3rd shift) morning y'all.
About all the Obama comments...
[rant]
People mock the president, disparage everything he does, talk at great length about how he should have done everything, make jokes about anything about him they can find... then we say he's ineffective and doing a bad job. Of course he's doing a bad job, most of the country he's president of is against him. It's like driving a bus where every passenger has a brake.
No I'm not a democrat. I voted republican (for president) in the last election. But I heard a rumor that we're supposed to pray for our leaders... or something like that.
[/rant]
In other news - Homemade whole wheat sourdough with homemade sausage and homemade pimento cheese spread is about as good a way to start the day as any. Yum!
:gun:
most of the country is not that against him. Being black you should know this. :hipafro:
The president's mistakes are not the critics fault. The ones who criticize him sure didn't brake him from his first gay rights fundraiser last week. :smirk2:
AND not liking, and voicing our disenchantment of the president doesn't mean we don't also pray for him.
I pray for him to be voted out next term.
:clap2: Isaac, ole boy- You know I'm quick to joke about anything. I do pray for President Obama, even though he and I are about as far apart on our views for the country as one can be. I hope that he finds God in the Power of the Holy Ghost and has a long successful life. That said, without turning this thread political, I hope he doesn't get re-elected. I feel the steps he's taken are in the wrong direction. Myself- right now, Herman Cain has my interest for a Presidential candidate. He sounds like he has a good idea of how to run a business, and I like what I'm hearing from him.
*response rant over. :laughhard:

I also pray for him that in spite of his decisions, that God would guide him to make decisions that line up with Gods Will for this country, and that God would have mercy on us. Even with him in office.

The "Pink" is the part that is false, therefore requiring defense against. Five-oh's statement did not admit his car was pink, only that his car was being maligned and you locked the thread so he could not even post a rebuttal.

I'm gonna invite you to a fishing trip and use you for a boat anchor. Then I'll investigate the disappearance, rule it a cold case and live happily ever after. :laughhard:
With him in the river it will be a very cold case.
Well, all the rest of you can justify yourselves all you want, but I'll just flat out mock Obama and not care what anybody thinks of it.

I have to say that I have not complained once about our current president. With that being said, I may not like the fact that he is in office, but I know what Revelations says. We need to pray constantly for our leaders that their souls can be saved! This seems to be Gods Will some one has to pave the way for the Antichrist. I feel bad for the man.
Oh, and to feel bad does not mean I do not DIS like him.

Yes this is America. You have the legal right to do many things that should not be done.
Speaking of things to do, I just got a flier in the mail advertising a TN district minister and spouse cruise/retreat on a Carnival ship.
"Cruise includes 5 nights accommodation of ship - ALL inclusive meals - 24 hour room service and twice daily cab in steward service port charges, taxes and fees - shipboard activities, entertainment, UPCI Tennessee District sessions."
Think I should sign up?
I will refrain from comment.
Maybe being able to legally do some of the things that shouldn't be done will make me feel better about not being able to legally do some of the other things I'd like to.

Now I'm waiting on a phone call. Our weekly conference call with my fellow Innovate team members.
Should be ringing any second now....
SHARING: My new Komodo Sport shoes just arrived via UPS. They rock, best of the five-finger shoes I've tried yet.
Gonna go get ready for w*rk now (since I'm on 3rd shift that W word is a bad word again.) A bientot.

Gotta go to sleep shortly, for lo, I must get up at the hindend crack of dawn to go help my nephew move. Blah.
I gotta get up early too. Mom has a Dr appt, and I am gonna drive her. Dad doesn't like her to drive the truck since she put a dent in it and lied about it while he was in the hospital a few months ago, so dad and I have come to the understanding that if at all possible, if she goes somewhere, anywhere, I am to "volunteer" to drive her. And make it LOOK like I want to go. So I have to get up and go with her tomorrow. :smirk2:

Howdy y'all. My Wednesday is at an end. I'm about to go to bed, then I'll get up, go to church during my Thursday morning which is most people's Wednesday night, then go to w*rk.

Morning all. Maybe I'll get the floor project finished today..... I know that next week's days off, I ain't planning on doing a thing. :laughhard: This remodeling work is hard on a "fluffy" old man. (I told chey yesterday this was hard on a fat man and she informed me, as usual, that I wasn't fat, I was fluffy) :teeth: And it's church night! I hope they've got our a/c units up and running- we had both of them die this last week. When the first one went down, it's taken nearly two weeks of dealing with the insurance company to get it replaced. Bro Papa finally got that resolved, but before the a/c company could get out to install the new unit the other unit went down. Not good when it's in the mid 90's or hotter. I have a new respect for our faith's pioneers- no a/c and they still shouted. :teeth:
Morning. :hi:
Sittin in the truck waitin on Mom. I've been upset all night and didn't sleep well cause of someone I am having a problem with at my church. I didn't go to the ladies meeting last night cause I didn't want to be in a social setting with her. It's eating me alive and I'm not the one who is at fault. But everyone just pats her head and says "That's just the way she is..." well if she has run several people off, makes others feel uncomfortable, then SHE is the problem and SHE should be dealt with. I shouldnt have to take her junk from her and make ME walk on eggshells as to not upset HER!!
It ate me alive all night, and still is killing me this morning. :smirk2:
I'm sorry Mel, that's frustrating.
It just hit me as I was reading an article about the Dutch banning Jewish & Muslim ways of butchering meat. It's said that it's inhumane. Isn't that the point? They aren't humans. Sounds all nice until you link together the evolution mindset that underlies.
5 1/2 weeks till the wedding...
Not to take away from Mels post (I hope it gets better soon, Mel) but I just feel like saying:
BALD IS BEAUTIFUL!
I'm ok, I was just venting. And I can't do it on FB...she's there. :o
So I probably shouldnt post on your FB wall "Im sorry you have to deal with idiots like that one woman you go to church with?" :ugly:

Lorrrrrrrrrrd a mercy.

If they ever move again, I'm just burning their house down (which will be unfortunate for their neighbors because they're in a duplex now :freaky: ) and they can just start over again from scratch.
