Title: PB and ?
Post by: World Traveler on June 05, 2011, 05:54:28 PM
Life in USA is good. For years I have enjoyed Goober Grape (lines of peanut butter and grape jelly in the same jar). Some years ago I noticed they came out with Goober Strawberry. I still liked the grape version better. Yesterday, in Wal-mart, I noticed they now have Goober Chocolate: nice thick lines of peanut butter and chocolate in the same jar. Bye bye summer diet plan!

Hazelnut butter and chocolate works well.  They call it Nutella. (tm)

Believe it or else, peanut butter and egg is good.  Dry, but good.

Peanut butter and sweet potatoes is startlingly good, especially with marshmallow creme.

The main issue I have with this is if you put it in the fridge, the peanut butter doesn't spread well on the bread. Nice gimmick, but for me, an epic fail.

Peanut butter in the fridge?

When I was a kid, I loved peanut butter and honey on toast.

Goober Grape is peanut butter and jelly in stripes.  For the jelly part you have to put it in the fridge.

Min Goober Grape doesn't last long enough to worry about puttin in the fridge. It usually never ends up on bread either. I just eat it out of the jar.
I have had it out for several days without putting it in the fridge. Just put the lid on tight after using it, keep it in a cool place, and have a cast iron stomach like a life-long bachelor. That should do it.

This thread sounds like something my dad would be in on.  He would read this, think "Wow!  New ideas!" and head straight for the kitchen.  LOL

I eat PB on my waffles and pancakes.  Take a good waffle or pancake, put butter on it, then PB, then cover it in some GOOD syrup...

YES!

Sis Mom taught me the loveliness of peanut butter pancakes! Then when I worked at the hospital, I would eat it sometimes and people asked about it, tried it, and ate it that way for themselves next time. :)

Peanut butter is good mixed up with cornbread & milk.

I can see how that would be... edible.  Perhaps not the best thing to do with a chunk of good cornbread, but not repugnant.

Also something that my friend Ann taught me, you get a Hershey bar, snap it all apart, and scoop peanut butter straight out of the jar with it.

Heaven.

Peanut Butter alone makes for a good hot meal if you want one. Just slap some between some pieces of hot toast. You have a hot peanut butter sandwich... a hot meal. :-)

I used to never like peanut butter, until I had REAL peanut butter.  I don't need the extra sugar and salt in it and I don't mind stirring it to have the real thing.

My favorite way is PB and slices of Granny Smith green apples.

However, I prefer almond butter and cashew butter most of the time.  I do not care for sesame butter (tihini) though.

I love this kind!

Sesame butter I tried and it tastes bitter, very unlike regular ole sesame seeds, so I'll have to agree with you on that.  Also concurrence on the "peanut butters" that are most popular these days, jif, skippy, all those that have sugar, mono and diglycerides, etc.  I have to disagree on the Naturally More though - I tried but it has some kind of hard grains in it.

Cashew butter rocks if it's just ground cashews.  Same with peanut butter, just peanuts please.

When I lived in Indiana PB and Pickles was popular - you had to mix dill and sweet pickles to get the desired affect.

*shudder*

PB on my bagel is fine

I also prefer cashew or almond butter, but peanut butter's great too. I especially like it on pancakes with pineapple preserves.

My dad eats peanut butter on a plate with (separate) cheese, french bread, molasses/Steen's syrup, and link sausage  pieces that have been cooked. It's not bad that way either.

PB on Pancakes, Waffles, Toast, Bagels, Cheese, Apples.

I like bologna and grape jelly sandwiches.

A friend of mine in TN told me about peanut butter and pickle with mayo. I haven't gotten the courage to try that yet....
