To save PowerPoint as wmv file, I recommend to use PowerPoint 2010 (http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/powerpoint/) or Moyea PPT to Video Converter (http://www.dvd-ppt-slideshow.com/ppt-to-video/) for in these two ways all the PowerPoint originals like animations, slide transitions, music will be preserved.
