When Marie is your personal chef (Marie Callender, that is).
When the fairy dish-mother looks a lot like the person in the mirror.
When you only do laundry when you run out of... ummm... towels. Yeah. That's it.
Lady Elona,
Are you _sure_ you want the longtime bachelors to weigh in on this topic?
John :waving:
:spitlaugh:
Sure, John! Go right ahead! lol
Oh, and I have honestly noooo idea who Marie Callender is.

I had leftover Chine from the fridge for dinner..does that count? :fork:

You know you live alone when:
Your laundry being washed and in a basket is considered folded and put away..... lol
When pot pies and frozen pizza are gourmet meals....
you dont have to take turns on the PC. ;)
'cooking' is anything that takes miore than three minutes in the microwave
'baking' is what you do with a frozen pizza!

Hmmm... and according to Taco's rules, my laundry is put away at the moment, even though it's on my rocker.
Soooo, Lady Elona, do we correctly infer thatb you are Off your rocker, then? :biglaugh:
John :waving:
*Lady Elona hasn't denied being off her rocker, as of this posting*
She fainted! :laughhard:

This afternoon at 3

3 guests in all
Just I, myself and me.
Myself ate up the sandwiches
While I drank up the tea
'Twas also I
Who ate the pie
And passed the cake to me.

You know you live alone when company leaves and you have to go around putting everything they touched back in the exact spot they moved it from. Or that could be living alone with OCD.

You know you live alone when you get sick. You're laying in bed, shivering with fever, and no one is there except maybe your trusty dachshund who can't dispense medicine, make soup, or call 911 in the event of an emergency.

or you get sick and have to make a facebook post for anyone possible to drop you off some jello and sprite because your so dizzy you can't leave the house. and yes i've actually had to do that before....
I've heard about Sprite for an upset stomach but what does Jello do you?
Makes it easier on you and your stomach when your losing your "cookies" so to speak... and it goes down easy as well, if you have a sore throat along with a stomach ache.
Sprite doesn't do much. Some people think that because gingerale works for stomach aches, that it's all clear pop (soda) works. But it's the ginger in the gingerale that is good for upset stomach. Found out the hard way.
Wow, I learned something useful today. Thanks GP! :thumbsup2:
Drinking jello before it sets will also stop you from being stuck in the bathroom when you are sick too.
If you know what I mean... :flush:
You're blowing my mind. I never knew Jello was so useful. Is that the reason they still sell it, because people know about its many uses?
Did you know there was a little Jello museum in LeRoy, New York? They claim to be the home of Jello. I wanted to see what they had, but Stevebert and I never got there. We passed it on the way to the beach the few times we went, though.
You know you live alone when at 4am you are talking to yourself just for some noise to break the silence.

Dogs or Horses are good companions... but both can be expensive for a good one...
i have a friend that is trying to talk me into getting a goat. her's is even trained to wear a harness and goes hiking on a leash. it's pretty awesome.
Goats are nice... Goats milk is good too... but no goat cheese... blah!
Well, my living alone days will soon be over. For a little while anyway.
You getting a roomie?
You know you live alone when it only takes 3 hrs to actually move, because most of your things are still in the boxes, out in the garage, from the last time you moved!
Cleaning takes a while longer...
i can pack up, move and unpack in a day.

Isn't it disgraceful how Caucasian, or, more specifically, American families can't get along under the same roof? You don't see this nearly as often in Hispanic or Asian, or even African American families. There is something seriously wrong with us. :twocents:

Another generalization... nice...
I don't think disgraceful is the word I would use...
Some people have very real and specified reasons for not wanting to be under the same roof as people they are related to for long periods of time...
I happen to be one of them... I don't find it disgraceful at all...
Those cultures are different... and while I have no issues with their way of doing things, I am not Hispanic or Asian, or African-American... and therefore, will not be compared to their cultures... and as long as I am not living in their countries, I will refrain from having to follow their rules and regs...

i find nothing disgraceful in the fact that my immediate family is made up of 4 [ok, well 3. my dad is super dependent on my mom] very independent people. and we respect each other, so therefore we live seperately. [well dad lives on his truck mostly, but when he's home he's with madre] doesn't mean we don't support and love each other. we each just need our space. can't find much of that in a 16 x 72 foot single wide trailer......
On top of all that... those other cultures you mentioned are very different in other ways, especially considering the family hierarchy.
Disagreeing with a Father or Grandfather, can mean being ousted from the family, and that is a scary thing for those friends I have, whose families are from those cultures.
And most American families are not perfect... I know mine isn't... lol.
Parents have the tendency to try and continue to parent their adult children when there is situation where an adult child needs to move back in... and that is not correct.
Once a child has grown they need to make their own decisions on things, and the parents, if they raised them correctly, should be able to trust their child's judgment, or else the parent did not do their job when raising that child.
A child is like a arrow in the parents quiver, it is the parents job to point and direct, lead and guide that arrow in the direction of God... train them up in the ways of the Lord... but at some point in time, the parent must draw back the bow, and let the arrow fly... Praying that they have done their best to lead their child in the correct ways of God.
It is near impossible to change the direction of that arrow once it has been shot...
Once that arrow is shot, it is now up to the arrow or the child...
Parents are a ship builder... and a launching pad for their children... but at some point in time, they must let them go... still praying for them, but their position does change in that child's life.
This is not my analogy, although I have added a little to it... it was something my Pastor preached...
My issue with adult children moving back home, or still living at home past a certain age... is that some, not all , but some parents never learn to let go... and still continue to try and treat their kids as if they are 15, when in reality, their kids are pushing 30 or older!
Taco - Thankful that you have parents who will allow you to move back in when you need to... and will allow you to pay rent. Definitely praying for you!
Barista - Agreed!

Great point!
Also one of my reasons... I am not sure which is worse though, staying with family not in any type of church, or staying with family who go to one of the denominational churches, which have come out against you leaving their system of theology, and going Apostolic... I just happen to have both!
i've got alot in my family who claim to have a personal walk with God and have created their own set of beliefs and attend no church, so therefore thats how the whole family should be. :noo: it's so frustrating at times.
