Title: How to make a gal Happy
Post by: upcchris on February 15, 2010, 04:48:01 AM
I got this as an email... it made me laugh....this is a slightly edited version

It's not difficult to make a woman happy.
A man only needs to be:

a friend
a companion
a lover
a brother
a father
a master
a chef
an electrician
a carpenter
a plumber
a mechanic
a decorator
a stylist
a psychologist
a pest exterminator
a psychiatrist
a healer
a good listener
an organizer
a good father
very clean
sympathetic
athletic
warm
attentive
gallant
intelligent
funny
creative
tender
strong
understanding
tolerant
prudent
ambitious
capable
courageous
determined
true
dependable
passionate
compassionate

WITHOUT FORGETTING TO:

give her compliments regularly
love shopping
be honest
be very rich
not stress her out
not look at other girls

AND AT THE SAME TIME, YOU MUST ALSO:

give her lots of attention, but expect little yourself
give her lots of time, especially time for herself
give her lots of space, never worrying about where she goes

IT IS VERY IMPORTANT:

Never to forget:
* birthdays
* anniversaries
* arrangements she makes

BOL see? We're not difficult to keep happy at all!  :laughhard:

Whereas for a Gal to make a Man happy,

Treat him like her Hero
Respect him

The rest is all tied to those.  LOL

Sorry had to make sure the list was adequately short.   :laughhard:

Somewhere, a couple/few years ago, I read that

The definition of a successful man is a man that makes more money than his wife can spend

---And---

A successful woman is a woman that can find such a man!

Poor Yooper.  I guess you'll just have to post more in order to be able to unlock the next level.  Post faster!  Post more!

Jonathan: WHERE are those threads?!?!?!  We had WAY too much fun when you first joined GP!

We NEED to resurrect that secret smileys thread!!!  If only it were still around to be resurrected!  :sadbounce:  Now we'll have to remember them all over again!!  Some of them we haven't used in so long, we may have all forgotten about them!!

I was thinking of that really old song we used to sing in church...

We're a happy people, yes we are.
We're a happy people, yes we a-a-re.
Been baptized in Jesus' Name
Spoke in tongues when the Holy Ghost came.
We're a happy people, yes we are.

The Triangle is a multi-episode flashback story about how Whit and his wife met told as only Odyssey can tell it, and how Jack Allen fits in.

The Triangled Web is about Jimmy Barclay, Jack, and Curtis... AND Lucy...! LOL... Interesting and entertaining episode.

I am fairly sure I have heard every episode that they have, although some are much better than others.

the yes yes yes chours is part of a song that newsman's church is notorious for singing for at least 5-15 mins straight.  A very annoying song.

That part goes yes lord yes lord, yes yes yes...(repeating at least 10 times every 30 secs.)

Since I switched churches, it is one of the few things I DO NOT miss.

the gun, Shotgun, 20 guage at least.

Rock salt in a shot gun...? Those will kill someone as easy as the bird shot... better to use nerds in it instead... then at least they will get to eat something...

I'm willing to be proven wrong, Yooper, but I've never heard iof a fatality from rock salt from a shotgun..or even a serious life-threatening injury..I'm sure it could happen in the theoretical sense, but I personally can't see being shot with rock salt being equivalent to be being hit by bird shot from a scattergun.

Of course, you may be joking, using contrast,etc.. my humorometer is a bit askew this morn.

Ah, a experimental challenge... So can we shoot you with rock salt to find out?

I was being facetious... but in reality... rock salt is hard, so in theory, if you shot someone with it from a pointblank range. I could see it breaking skin, and embedding itself in someone, hence causing injury. Whether or not life-threatening would depend on where the person was shot at.

Ahhh...  I DO recall now that it was supposedly reported that you AND the Yoop took my breath away.
However, it is on the record that I have sworn off younger men.
As a matter of fact, several years ago, I believe I set the minimum age at 42 (which is getting closer and closer for me as the years go by  lol  Soon this will include "younger men" :o )   :-\
Soooo...  if you would like to keep reportedly reporting the *cough* news, you may want to reconsider your alleged statement.   :nono:
Of course, I *could* state what was misquoted as a suggestion for curing my taken-away breath if you like.  :hypocrite:

I refuse to have a battle of wits with an unarmed person, but there seem to be several very well-armed persons on this board, so I figured it was time to have the battle of wits.  On-guard!  :uzi:

Not sure if there will be a winner any time in the near future (or ever, for that matter), but the battle may get really fun.  :freaky2:

And I haven't CONFESSED anything.  I'm only saying that it was SUPPOSEDLY REPORTED...  THAT, my dear, is NOT a confession.

And then I *BELIEVE* I set the minimum age...

And I *COULD* state what was MISQUOTED...

READ, Chel - before I declare you incompetent to stand in the battle of wits  :duel: and drag you off to prison :prison: ...  where I just left the poor New Guy.  :freaky2:

Yoop finds it a tad bit ironic that this is all happening on the "How to make a gal happy" thread... LOL... so throwing Chel into prison with the new guy will make who happy?

Chel or Elona?

Will all the other gals get jealous and want to join...? hmmm...

And if Elona joins and throws away the key...

So where are you running?  Around in circles in your cell?  lol

As to who it makes happy...  Chel or Elona...  This was not a question to be given with closed-ended options.  Perhaps the prisoner will be happy?  Perhaps adding another prisoner in the prison will cancel the "punishment" aspect of imprisonment.

*rethinks the punishments*

Chris:  You're quite correct.  It *is* solely a tourist attraction now.  It actually has quite a great guided audio tour, and makes for a really fun day.  I can TOTALLY imagine a group from here meeting up at Alcatraz and having an awesome time.

Natural homemade marshmallows are better if you reeeeally need the sugar fix

Still not sounding extremely good... lol.

The only thing marshmallow fluff is good for is making fudge... there's a way to get your sugar fix!

Of course Pixie Stix, Sweettarts, Bottlecaps, and Smarties all work quite well too!

Yeah sis, if you're interested I can find it - basically its sugar gelatin, you just heat the sugar to the soft ball stage I think - you can google for a recipe too, its pretty simple

There is no way to ensure that you never make a woman unhappy.  The rule of the game is to make her happy much more often then you make her unhappy.

Well that is all I can guess at least.   :hypocrite:

I think we try to dissect every aspect of relationships to find a way to have a perfect one. Thats not going to happen no matter what advise we get from other people. Every relationship is different and has different pros and cons that come with it. You wanna make a girl happy? Spend time with her know what she likes to do and the kinda things she likes..if you like her..just be there (not so much that its annoying :) )

Why focus on how to not make a girl unhappy..just focus on making her happy  :smirk2:

Furthermore, its not just about the girl..if either party of a relationship is unhappy about something it puts strain on both people so don't forget that the guys happiness is important!

It all goes back to the particular gal you are trying to make happy.  Some gals love some things, like shopping, others hate it.  It all boils down to communication and getting to know the person... and it goes both ways.  Some guys love hunting and fishing, my guy doesn't... but that is something you have to find out by communicating. ;)

In all honesty...if a girl falls for a bloke...love is blind....initially...so in a sense...for a limited amount of time...he can do no wrong...eventually the initial 'in-love-ness' fades...hopefully she hasn't married him by then and gets to know him better once evrything goes back to normal.

BOL...I don't think my accent would be what you would expect from someone living in Aus. Elona and Nik have heard me speak before..so they'd probably be the best judges on that count...growing up (and currently also  ) I was heavily influenced by BBC programming...so my accent would probably be a mix of British and Australian..especially since I work with people who have strong Australian and other accents...sometimes I remember my training and enunciate properly and sometimes I get lazy in my speech..anyway...depending if I'm irked at the time...my accent tends to be thicker then. Personally, I don't really know what my accent's like...few people can pin it down.

Interestingly enough, depending on whether I'm speaking to someone with a strong accent...I sometimes unconsciously imitate their accent...I have to watch myself, because I don't want to offend them. It's 3:00pm over there and 9:00am over here.

I think any accent different than my own is awesome... especially British and Australian... whatever type of mix... lol.

I inadvertently pick up accents on a regular basis... so mine is not definite on any specific style.

So if it was 9pm here in Wisconsin... it would be 3pm there the next day? Wow

Would it be considered Strange and weird or sweet and thoughtful for a guy to drive 90 miles roundtrip to stick a card and rose (not red... just yellow or white, or even a lavender blue rose or flower of some sort on a gal's car while she is at work, that he is more than friends with, they just haven't bowed to all other people's peer pressure and put a title other than "friends with a lot of potential" just yet... just to let her know that he was thinking about her during the day??

Thanks for the input! I'll pray that God sends you a hopeless romantic! :) Unless your already married... then give me your husbands email... and I'll give him the idea... lol

See... that is the issue. I am a diehard, hopeless romantic... lol. I know that in the past (like 8 yrs ago... lol) when I was in a serious relationship that the girl thought it was very sweet... but we never got married (well she ended up married! lol... just not to me... lol). I have been out of this whole dating thing for almost 5 yrs... not sure if that is something girls appreciate at this point in history any more... lol.

Has the time of hopeless romantics and chivalry died...?  I will saw her last night, spent the evening at her house with her parents... she worked till 8pm, and then we hung out till almost 11pm. And I will see her on Thursday for Thanksgiving dinner... but I think it is sweet to do things like that just cause... just cause I was thinking about her.

I haven't sent her flowers yet, except once I texted her a picture of a rose... lol... just cause... and she laughed and thought it was cute... lol. So I thought it would be nice to give her a real flower, just cause... nothing special other than I was thinking of her... I could do it tomorrow instead of today... she is working both days... decisions... lol.

Haha I am not married - and God is sending me my hopeless romantic. He's almost here....haha

Welll in my book it's very hard to find someone who is an old-fashioned romantic who is chivalrous....which are two things I look for haha...

I had an old friend, we talked for over a year...and he'd do random things like that. He once sent me a card on "Ground Hog's" day just to say hi, happy ground hogs day...it wasn't something expensive, it wasn't something huge, but it MADE my day....it was the perfect gift...and it was snail mail....which is romantic in itself....

Yay for hopeless romantics!

I love doing little things for just the random sake of doing it, and hoping to make someone smile... although... When I had more single friends I would do more of it... now most of them are married... and that is a little strange... lol!

But this relationship is a tad different... we're both a little older now... (I'm 27, she's 25) and we've been taking it slow... especially since we just met in August! LOL

But we have both discussed that there is interest in eachother... and I did talk to her dad... but we're not wanting to be fools rushing in... so friendship is key... and the romance side of things can build slowly... and it is. But we discussed that neither of us are having this H.S. type of crush... it is more of the fact that we enjoy each others company, get along well, have things in common and make each other laugh!

But I do want to show that I do have a romantic interest in her... rather than just telling her... I would like to show a little bit. Again... not talking of sending a dozen red roses and a poem... at the moment... lol. Just a little something that is more thoughtful than simply a text.

This thread is now actually back on track I think... or have I spoken too soon... I am sure Newsman is lurking to misquote me...! lol

Sounds to me like you are on the right track...taking it slow I mean...if it's meant to develop more, and last...then the friendship will be the best base you build. Relationships built on friendship rather than rushing straight into it are mucho better.

But if ya'll have both already talked about it, and you talked to her Dad (totallllllllly respect you for that - bravo) then I mean it sounds like you are on the right track to just being you around her.

Just think of something you know she'll like, or w/e and do that as far as romanticness goes....if you think she'd love it if you put a rose on her car, GO for it! lol all she can do is be like "thanks" and that's it....and then you try something new, or she'll love it, and gush about it (if she's the gushing type haha) and you'll know you made the right move!

Need to form an opinion before 6pm CST today... LOL

You have to be careful. It IS romantic, but if you're not that invested in the woman, and you do that, she will most likely take it to mean you want more out of the relationship than you really want. If you DO want more out of the relationship, by all means go for it.

BTW, I hope chivalry is dead. It meant something other than romantic stuff.

Go for it Yoop! That's the type of romantic mush I do to this day for my longsuffering wife. Oh, and tell MJ hi for the friend she's not met.  :freaky2: * Note to self- go to facebook and "mention" something to aforementioned "little sister". LOL!

Depends on your gas mileage - honestly I'd be calculating the impact to the environment and waste of money entailed in such a trip if I was the recipient... Is there any way its on the way to somewhere else that you need to go to anyway?

I guess that's part of the romance of it but I find stuff like that wasteful... Now if you're going to dinner with her that night anyway and you go in early to put the flower on her car that she'll find before she meets you then I think that's sweet.

All the best with it regardless!

Uhhh... No, it would not, and you're sadistic to suggest it.  :biglaugh:  And I might threaten you, but I probably wouldn't make contact outside of GP for fear of actually harming your chance at happiness. I was 27 before my wife and I married, so I know what it's like to be alone for what seems like forever, and I wouldn't risk ruining something for you- that is, unless I were provoked. :biglaugh:

LOL... thank you for not saying anything! :)  Glad you understand...  :)

It is good to know I am not the only guy who was in the latter end of his 20's and not married yet! LOL... most of my friends have gotten married in the last few yrs, so I am sorta alone in this... or was. Recently met a few other guys my age who are not yet married. Makes it easy to hang out... except the one topic that always comes up, is that we all wish we were married! LOL

All in God's timing... I have said it before, and I am sure I will say it again... I would rather stay single... than to marry someone who I am not sure I could spend the rest of my life with... up till now there have been a few of those (nothing against any of them... they will make someone a wonderful wife! It just wasn't me, and I am still good friends with a few of them!)     ... so I have not married yet. Just praying for God's will to be done...

LOL... thanks for the encouragement Miss Sunlight!  :)    :thumbsup2:

Happy to report that "Operation Make Miss Molly Smile" (3MS) went perfectly!  :hyper:

I drove and got a card last night... and flowers from Angeli's Supermarket this morning... they didn't have what they had a week ago, and so I settled for a simple fall bouquet... the only other thing they had was red roses... and I didn't want to give her those... lol. But they were pretty. Some carnations, and multicolored daisies.

Then drove off to where she works... which as it turns out... is another 10 more miles further than I had thought... lol. First I surveyed the parking lot for her vehicle... then parked and went inside to see if perhaps the store she works at had a nicer arrangement that I liked better... they didn't... lol. (Gotta love small town Grocery stores... hehe)

Then walked over to the Deli where she works, her eyes lit up when she saw me... and she smiled (score!), we chatted for a few minutes. She asked if I had just been bored and drove over... I told her I was in the area and thought I would say "hi" (I was in the area... lol... I had a mission to accomplish! But that was a ntk (need to know) detail... and she didn't ntk that at the moment! LOL

So after chatting and verifying which vehicle she was driving (her brothers truck, her mom had used her car to go pick up Grandma... lol) I said goodbye, and then went back to my truck, drove back to her vehicle, placed the Flowers under the windshield wipers, and the card in the window... and then drove off...  LOL!

I get bad reception heading home, and I figured I would get a call... as it turns out, I did miss her call, and she left a voicemail... saying how thankful she was for the flowers, and how sweet it was for me to make her day twice in the same day! (once when I showed up to say hi... and then the surprise waiting at her vehicle! lol). She said that she had never gotten flowers before from a guy she liked... and never had a guy drive to the store just to say hi... and some other things... but y'all are on a ntk basis,, and you dont ntk! LOL!!   :laughhard:

Also got a sweet text message saying she loved the card, and it made her cry... the good kind of crying... so Mission 3MS accomplished!  :hyper:

Way to go, Yoop! :thumbsup2: Word of advice- if you can, remember what the principle flowers were in that arrangement, and if things work out for you guys, give her a replica of that arrangement on your anniversary. She'll remember.

I gave my wife a bud vase arrangement of yellow carnations as the
first  flowers I gave her because the store was out of pink roses. I
had them delivered  to her job as I was several miles away.
Imagine my surprise when she called crying and told me that
carnations were her favorite flower and yellow was her favorite color.
Thank you, Lord. Now, about once every two or three months,
I'll send her an arrangement of "our flowers" for no reason other than
to thank her for loving me and being the perfect wife. You're definately
not the only hopeless romantic. :biglaugh:

Oh, and for those of you waiting patiently (or not so patiently) for YOUR time.....
I understand, and my prayers are with you. I can say that had things
happened as I had wanted them to, in my time, I would probably have
a failed marraige in my past and nothing remotely like my terrific life.
Keep looking, stay faithful, and Yoop- stay the hopeless romantic.
It helps when the money's short and things are going wrong to know
that you love each other. Enough rambling, I'm getting weepy-eyed. :biglaugh:

That is an awesome Idea... I had wanted the first ones to be Lavender Roses... but... lol... it didn't work out... but I know she loves them! She even remembered to put them in water! (lol... I have given flowers before where the gal forgot to put them in water! LOL!)

 Being Nice and Considerate.

1.) Hold the door when she is carrying the Garbage out

2.) Lift your feet when she is vacuuming the floor

3.) Hand her a clean towel and wet wash cloth when she changes the oil

4.) If she is working too hard, suggest that she take a break so you can finish watching the game

5.) On hot days, make her a nice lunch with fresh lemonade.. it is the least you can do while she is mowing the lawn

6.) If she is too tired to take care of the kids, be a gentleman call a babysitter so she can take a quick shower before feeding the baby

7.) On your anniversay, seriously dude? A Power Saw from Sears?  Dude she deserves something better. Check Home Depot they have some better models.

8.) If she is sick be nice to her, make your own coffee while she is cooking breakfast!

9.) When you shoot your deer this year, give her a break. You drag it to the truck so she can gut and dress it.  Be nice, she is your wife.

10.)  Don't expect her to clean all your fish when you go fishing, have her teach your daughter how to do it.

Put another log on the fire
Cook me up some bacon and some beans
And go out to the car and change the tire
Wash my socks and sew my old blue jeans.

Come on baby you can fill my pipe and then go fetch my slippers
And boil me up another pot of tea
Then put another log on the fire babe
And come and tell me why you're leaving me.

Now don't I let you wash the car on Sunday
And don't I warn you when you're gettin' fat
Ain't I a gonna take you fishin' with me someday
Well, a man can't love a woman more than that.

Ain't I always nice to your kid sister
Don't I take her driving every night
So sit here at my feet cause I like you when you're sweet
And you know it ain't feminine to fight.

So put another log on the fire...

I bet this thread title turns up in a lot of google searches...

I don't have any experience with this personally, but I have heard how to argue with a woman.
"There are two ways to argue with a woman.  Neither one works."
