What's the matter, PF? You don't think a tutu would go with her strawberry hat very well?

Elona, what's the most romantic date you've ever been on? *cheeky grin*

Uhhh...  I have a feeling that the intent of this thread was NOT for me to come in dressed in a tutu, even if it's the twotoo thread.
HOWEVER, if you feel that I need to wear a tutu, you may feel free to send it to me and I will wear it.
HOWEVER, please note that you can rest assured that all of my other clothing will be intact and in place at the time said tutu/twotoo/toto is worn.

As to resurrecting all the old ask threads (Mel), I think you may have just answered your own question.  lol  :girltongue:

Elona, what's the most romantic date you've ever been on? *cheeky grin*

:beret:

Oh my!  WHAT a question!  :o

*thinks back to the multitude of dates she has been on in her oh-so-long life*

Okay...  so I have been on a handful of dates in my day, but not many were designed to be insanely romantic.  The "romantic" parts mostly had to do with the guy I was with and the feelings that I had for him.  Now that those feelings aren't the same anymore, the date doesn't seem quite as romantic in retrospect.
So, for the sake of journalism and question-answering, imagine the following dates were with the *right* person.  lol

Romantic:
July 4th at the park watching fireworks while leaning back against a tree with his arm around me.
I'm sorry, but I can barely write that with a straight face, because it was SO the wrong guy, but it was QUITE romantic at the time, and would be an awesome date again someday IF it were with the right person.
In the same category (i.e. Awesome if it's with the right person):
A long drive and a picnic in the park followed by feeding the ducks and taking a walk on one of the trails.
All the ingredients of a great day, but we were "just friends."  lol
Afterward he asked me about another girl, and I set them up.

Romantic-er:
A picnic at the ocean.  We backed into a parking place that overlooked the ocean, opened the liftgate on my minivan and had lunch.  Afterward we walked on the beach.  I wanted to dip my feet in the ocean but he didn't.  lol  And it was too cold to build sandcastles that day (I'm not sure if that was REALLY true or not; just because it's 50 doesn't mean you can't build a sandcastle, right?), so we found a place to just sit down and talk.
Same guy, different time: Evening in the big city.  We walked the city streets holding hands, and then stopped to watch some street entertainment/artists.  He walked up behind me and put his arms around my shoulders, and I just felt *protected.*

Romantic-est:
Christmas morning, singing and making balloon animals at the nursing home with my family and some friends.  It was an incredible connection, especially since my mother had just passed away and it was my family's first Christmas without her, and he had driven several hours to be with us on Christmas day.  Even now that he and I are only friends, I actually look back on that date as a "romantic" one, believe it or not.  He understood what was important to me and went completely out of his way to be there for me at a time when I needed him most.
Title: Re: Ask Rainbowjingles Two/Too/To
Post by: RainbowJingles on December 05, 2008, 10:09:46 PM
My random ponderings:

In retrospect, I'm not sure what constitutes a romantic "date."
The dates that I listed are more a culmination of moments and feelings.  Perhaps I can better describe the *moments* that I remember as romantic pieces of dates:

- Feeling respected and protected (like the time I was walking with a guy and he took my hand and quickly led me into a store because he saw some shady-looking people on the sidewalk where we were walking, or the guy who always deliberately walked on the street side of the sidewalk because his grandfather taught him that was a "proper" way to treat a lady)

- Knowing that he went out of his way for me (like the time when the guy I was dating knew I was having a horribly rough day, so he drove four hours one way and showed up with a bouquet of carnations after a Saturday evening revival service at my church service just to see me for an hour.  We went to Burger King and ate in his car while we talked, but that REALLY ranks as a romantic date in my mind!!  He had to go back home because he had to play for church the next morning, but...  WOW!  I don't know if I'll ever forget that date.  You know, maybe that one should be up there with "romantic-est")

- A small thoughtful gift (or gifts) like the teddy bear from build-a-bear workshop (he knew that I had wanted to go there for a long time) or a simple item that I admired on a store shelf, or a teddy bear of any sort.  I guess I am of the opinion that fluffy huggable teddy bears are romantic.  lol

- Knowing that he appreciates the effort I made to look nice for him (usually made known by his compliments and glances)

- Thoughtful planning - or at least knowing that the place we are going or thing we are doing together is something we will both enjoy.  It's actually great to have things that are well thought out but also leave much room for spontaneity.

- Knowing that he enjoys being with me (eye contact, body language, and his pace can be good indicators, as well as all the wonderfully gentlemanly stuff like opening doors - especially car doors! - and holding chairs and helping with my coat).

As I re-read this list, I can now see why I've occasionally misinterpreted signals from guys who only wanted to be friends.  :o
Ruby: did you know you make a great shrink?  lol
*makes check payable to Urby la Shrink*

Warning:
The above-listed elements are considered romantic to many ladies.
Gentlemen: use caution when combining these elements.

lol

What have you learned about God lately?

:beret:
Title: Re: Ask Rainbowjingles Two/Too/To
Post by: RainbowJingles on December 05, 2008, 11:51:21 PM
I have learned that He is in control no matter how whirly/fuzzy/weird things may seem.
I have learned that what I want isn't always really what I want, but HE knows what I want AND need.
I have learned that He knows my name, and that He sometimes calls it at 5:30 in the morning, and then again at 7:00 in the morning.  I'm still trying to learn how to get up instead of grumble when He's talking that early.
I have learned that God doesn't always give us a way out, but He gives us a THROUGH.
I'm learning (very present tense) that even though He can do anything, and even though He desires to give good gifts to His children, He sometimes wants to make us stronger by NOT giving us what we think we want/desire/"NEED RIGHT NOW."

Title: Re: Ask Rainbowjingles Two/Too/To
Post by: RainbowJingles on December 07, 2008, 08:02:26 AM
I was just trying to figure out a clown name and bojangles popped into my mind at the approximate time that rainbow popped into my mind, and I had some jingle bells and...  well, I thought it'd make a good clown name.  lol  I used to wear a jingle bell bracelet under my puffy sleeve costume, and pin a couple very large jingle bells into the inside of my skirt.  I really DID "jingle all the way"!!!  :-)  It was so much fun to get into costume at home and go down the stairs.  The jingles put an extra spring in my step, and my parents would always comment and sound happy to hear me coming.

**HUGS** memories

Well, phonetically speaking (loosely interpreted, in the way you hear two too and to), there are three twos, but technically speaking, this is only my second thread.  You be the judge.  :-)

No, I didn't.  I have my tree set up already, but the other day in K-Mart I found some multi-colored jingle bell ornaments.  Unfortunately, I've already maxed out my decorating budget, so I didn't get them.  I'm hoping that they go on mega-sale in January and I can get some!!  I may actually get the purple and silver ones to match my tree.

Jonathan (aka the 1legrooster).  He told me that one time when I was really down and having a rough day and started to cry about something.  I said something along the lines of "stupid tears" or somesuch.

His words were one of those "word fitly spoken" moments.  He has told me since then that he doesn't mind if I use his name, but I just never got around to changing the sig line.  And besides, it looks more mysterious to leave it as is.  :bigcheese:

Actually, the hat ST was referring to is a watermelon hat.  The one your mum made for me was lots of bright colors.  The watermelon hat is just red, black and green.  I took it with me to the GP meetup in Oklahoma, and it ended up being modeled by various people.

Awwww.  Thank you so much, Chris!  You're awesome, girlie!  **HUG**

Actually, the hat ST was referring to is a watermelon hat.  The one your mum made for me was lots of bright colors.  The watermelon hat is just red, black and green.  I took it with me to the GP meetup in Oklahoma, and it ended up being modeled by various people.

I love me my crazy hats, especially cool crazy-color ones!!  :-)

Lady Elona,

Why are there still children who do not recognize me as the Grumpyest of the Grumpye? Have they not gotten the e-mail, or something? A friend gave me their eight-month old to hold the other day, and the kid apparently wanted to play 'retrieve the binky'. That at least was made easier in that they had the binky tied to where it could only drop a couple of feet or less.

Kids still seem to like me an awful lot, even though I'm the Grumpyest of the Grumpye!

What COULD I tell, Susan?!?!

Let me think on that one, Sir John.

Susan Is part blonde (not sure if it's on her mother's side or her father's side, but it's there), so there are definitely a few stories to tell if I can think of them.

:beret:

Susan is a joy.  Really truly a JOY to be around.  She makes a concerted effort to be positive, even when it seems that the world is falling apart (and it really has fallen apart at times!).  She has that joy-of-the-Lord GLOW on her.

She is confidential.  I can tell her about anything and know that it won't be told to anyone else.  She's awesome that way, and a lady that can truly be trusted.

She is a worshipper.  A true worshipper who is not ashamed of what people say or think, even when the devil tries to perch on her shoulder and say, "you're just showing off" of "you look dumb."  She knows how to flick the devil off her shoulder.  If flicking him off doesn't work, she'll just shout 'til he FALLS off.  If that don't work, she just MIGHT roll on the floor and squish him (I haven't seen her try that last part before, but I wouldn't put it past her to try it if necessary).

Susan is an awesome friend, and I'm so glad that God put her in my life, and I'm REALLY glad that she's on GP meeting all the weirdos my friends.  :bigcheese:

You told me about the guy on the couch and the shower in the foyer and the...  *cough hack* ummmm...  Well, if you dont' remember, I'll just pretend that you never told me.

Yes, you did call and talk to me!!!  You told me your deepest darkest fears, and then you fell asleep.  I laughed and was like...  "Mel?"  *silence*  Melody?  quiet?  I knew you were asleep, so I told you good night.  You managed to say good night and then hang up.  lol  Yes, it was a real conversation.  Quite a fun one, at that.  If I had known you were 3/4 asleep, I would have asked you for your bank PIN.  :bigcheese:

Nevermind...  it was in HERE!  lol

John:
Susan and I used to be in the same Sunday school class.
I was the teacher.  She was one of my students.  lol

Every week, I would look forward to Susan's hugs.  She was just barely tall enough to reach my waist with her arms, but she'd squeeze as tight as she could and I would laugh and hug her back really tightly.

As time wore on, she got stronger and squeezed tighter until i finally had trouble catching my breath after this little girls hugs.

Now she's taller (maybe even just a hair taller than me - no pun intended), but her hugs are still just as wonderful!

You don't remember THAT conversation where you told me...  :ignore:  :o

:bigcheese:

Ok...I vaugely remember talking to you...about that whole previous life/new life* merge situation...right?

Will it ever end?
Is it possible to have peace within confusion?
When people are pressuring you to give up on a dream you've worked 5 years for, just because it's hard going right now, how do you know if you should follow their advice?

When we get to heaven, the bad parts will all end.  :-)  In the meantime, the good and bad are all mixed up.  It's like eating watermelon.  Enjoy the flavor but spit out the seeds and don't eat too close to the rind and don't let it get your clothes all dirty!  :-)  Overall it's a good experience, but there's a lot that could get in the way of the fun.

Peace was asleep in the bottom of the boat.

You should follow their advice if you want to.  Just don't come crying to me if your dreams don't come true because you didn't follow them.  **HUGS**

Title: Re: Ask Rainbowjingles Two/Too/To
Post by: RainbowJingles on January 21, 2010, 06:20:42 PM
No.  The man in the moon has more sense than to fall for someone so far out of his orbit.
The man in the moon *really* smiles because he sees a girl on the earth falling head over heels with a man on the earth, and he is contented to watch.  He is content to be alone.  He enjoys his own company, and smiles peacefully.

Elona, are you sure the moon is not just a stalker of the earth, think about it, it moves in the dark times, it's whole purpose is to travel around the earth, always watching it, observing the earth from all sides, either a stalker, or a security guard.   :laughhard:

what is a good example of someone going to far?

what is not a good way to show your appreciation for someone?
Ask them to do more before they have finished what you asked them to do first.

what is a good example of someone going to far?
Well, there was a man who went to a guru and asked him to show him the road to success.
The guru pointed, and the man took off running in the direction of success.
He came to a cliff, but couldn't stop in time, so he fell off.  SPLAT.
He went back to the guru and asked the same thing.
The guru responded the same way, pointing in the direction of success.
Man ran.
Man fell.
Splat.

Repeat the above scenario one more time, and then find the man returning to the guru sadly.
Guru asked why man is sad.
Man said that he followed the road to success, but it ended in splat.
The guru responded, "Success is just beyond splat."
When it comes to pursuing God's will, there is never a "too far."  His will is usually "just beyond splat."

But when it comes to going "too far" in other areas:
-when your good could be evil spoken of
-when not everyone is capable of laughing at the joke without laughing at a person
-when Jesus couldn't sit next to you while you do it.

who in your past did you willingly clap the hardest for?
My baby brother!  He graduated with 3 degrees in the arts; just won his second big art award; designed a mascot for a science center; and has done several commissions for Word Aflame.  I'm stinkin' PROUD of my brother, and every chance I get to cheer or clap for him, I do it with everything in me!!

Anyone can be anything in their dreams.
And ballerinas in dreams don't have blisters on their toes, and they have a right AND a left foot, and they can wear modest tutus.

Only ONE Taco at a time huh?

Sooo...tell us...does your Taco HAVE to be a spicy one? Or can it be more of a sweet kind...you have heard of the dessert Tacos I am sure...a Taco can be VERY sweet I have heard.

Maybe you need a sample...sort of a taste test...you know...like when people take cars on a test drive...

:hypocrite:

BoL   :laughhard: :laughhard: :laughhard:

on no no no no no... Test driving is NOT a good idea... unless we are off the subject of what the original test driving was... and then if that is the case.. then all i can say is hmmmmmmm... :freaky2:

hey elona... had any interesting phone calls lately?

Yup.  My brother called me to tell me I was an aunt a few weeks ago!  :hyper:
No telemarketers, though.

As for other "interesting" phone calls...
Yup.  At least once a day.  Usually more.

I can give you the recipe.  :-)

Seems like these days when I bake brownies, there's a certain person who has priority.
