Life...it changes.
Ok, so. I suppose it is time to make my announcement. I am moving. Like to another state. Haha.
Most of yall know I had lost my job, had the water turned off, found a job, sold my car, but an still struggling to make ends meet. The last setback was that I got the power turned off due to not being able to afford to pay it, and I wont be able to pay my rent for this month, because the job I got is only part time, and no one seems to want to hire me full time, eventhough I am over qualified for some of the jobs I had applied for. I am not ashamed of any of this because through it all I was trying to keep my faith up, and I knew God would provide. He provided me with the part time job, and allowed me to sell the car for enough to keep me afloat for another month. I was certain that He would provide again before I would have to move out and lose everything I had, and He did, just not in the way I imagined.
Friday, my parents came to town and picked me up and we headed to my Nieces Birthday party, and on the way, they told me of an opportunity that I couldnt pass up, and after all weekend, and talking to Jesus about it. I think that this may be the solution that I was looking for.
I was offered a job in Mississippi working in my Uncles church full time. I will have my own office, and brand new computer and get to live there in my parents motorhome on my Uncles driveway, I will also be getting paid as well. I thought about it and weighed all my options, which was really just one other one, stay here and not have a place to live, and I talked to my Pastor, and I have decided to accept the position up there, and move. I have nothing to lose, as I will be kicked out soon anyway, and I dont have a job that will pay my bills, so I might as well try this for awhile and see what happens. If it doesnt work out, my uncle said I can come back here, and he wont be offended.
So....today, I quit my job, made some calls about storage places, and got some things straightened out, and then on Wednesday, I am leaving to go to Sis Mom and Bro Dads in NC for Thanksgiving, and when I get back, I will be moving. I dont know how long it will take me, but I plan to be out of here and moved to Mississippi around my Birthday on the 15th.
This is CRAZY and FAST. But, I really do believe that the hand of God is in it, by the way it all panned out, and especially the way my Pastor and his wife acted when I approached them with it last night. I had made up my mind that if he said "No" then I would not ask any questions, I would just stay here and wait for God to provide another answer, but my Pastor was all for it, and he said that it was ok to do this.
So, I guess what I am saying is I am moving. Yes, I am scared, yes, I dont have a clue what is in store, but I do know that
whatever it is, God HAS been in it, and He still will provide for me, no matter where I am.
I ask for your prayers above all.
So there is my story.
Wow
Glad things are working out
*Hugs* Melody
*Hugs* God who is always right on time.

*sigh*
Yeah. This is crazy. But God is still good.
So what is your new job there?

Glad to hear a situation opened up for you to try. Good luck with moving to Mississippi.

**HUGS** Melody and her plans
Well I have had a VERY productive day.
I got up this morning and got ready, then Courtney came over and we started packing. She left and got a BUNCH of boxes, and came back and we packed the whole livingroom, and the kitchen and bathroom. Then we went and rented a storage shed. Then we made three trips to the storage place and got a bunch of stuff moved in, including my beds and a bunch of boxes.
Getting the beds there was a RIOT!! I have pictures. We loaded down the van, and Courtney drove, while I held the mattress so it didnt tumble out the back, since the beds were longer than the inside of the van, and the hatch wouldnt close. On the next trip, the box springs would NOT fit in the van, so we hoisted it on the top, tied a rope to it, and held it while I drove REALLY slow...CoBo got that experience on video. Haha. It was great, I have not laughed so much and had such a good day here at home in a LONG while.
The unit I rented is kinda small, and I am not sure if I can get all my stuff in there, but we will sure try. I am amazed at the stuff we acomplished today, CoBo is kinda a small girl, but she is tougher than I ever gave her credit for.
Im at the church currently, waiting on chior practice. Im not in the chior anymore seeing how tonight they are working on Cmas stuff and I am leaving before the program, but it is dark now, and I cant do anything more at the house, and it is warm in here, so Im here. Plus someone is bringing some boxes to me tonight. Ill be staying at Cindys for the rest of my time here in Florida, since I packed up my bed in storage today...so for those of you who were worried about that...dont worry. I will have heat and food now. ;)
Tomorrow CoBo will come back, and we are doing the bedroom, and if we can use her Dads truck, we can move the dressers and stuff too, and I will be finished. Then I just wait out the weekend, and clean and such, and then leave next week when my Daddy comes to get me.
:hi:
This is kinda bittersweet, and while packing today, it has started to sink in that I am actually leaving. :smirk:
This was on our second run to the storage place....Courtney had to drive so I could hold the stuff in the van.

And this was our third run...with the box springs on the roof of the van...notice the rope...we had to hold it so it didnt fly off...

Good to see what all you got done.
Another Update...My Mom just called and said that my Daddy will be here on Tuesday, so we can get the big stuff in the storage, and then on Wednesday, I get to leave.
*sigh*
I am so nervous. I dont know if I can do this. LOL
Yes you can, just look at it as an adventure with God.
I know...but I am still scared to death...I have never left Florida. 28 years here, and 20 of those right in this spot. Its kinda scary.
Just don't forget to pack your umbrella. Maybe even more than one. You'll need 'em over there!!
When I left Minnesota, I left the house that's been in my family since 1942! That was weird! I grew up there. When my dad got remarried he was going to put it on the market, but just at that time I needed a place, so he sold it to me.
I spen all of my 21 years there. LOL
I moved away and came back home about ten years later.
I lived in one house for 23 years, then got married and moved across town for about a year and a half, then I moved to HONG KONG!!! lol - I know how you feel, with a big move and all...
Any move or change in our lives can be very scary. However we understand that God is in control. This does not however stop the many questions with no answers that pop in our mind. This is why life is an adventure. But always remember Melody, we pray for you each and every day. I know that God is directing your steps right now. So walk by faith knowing that where ever He may lead you, you will not fall.
/me hugs Mel
*Hugs* Melody
*Hugs* new adventures
What was it I said one time?... that Jennica quoted in her sig line?... *Hugs* new adventures--the lovely, the scary, the whole of them. Or something like that.
*Hugs* God, who does ALL things well
:beret:
/me waltzs into the room throwing out hugs and waltzs back out
wow mel I didnt know you were moving!
closer to me yay!
*i think*
i dunno where missississipi i tho..
I was excited when we moved. What was frightening to me was selling the house. The only thing I actually owned that was worth anything. It was supposed to be something to fall back on. A place to live even if everything else failed.
My house was paid for. Only paid a couple hundred, or so, dollars taxes every year. It was my stability. I let it go and went skipping off on a new adventure, which turned out to be two adventures. The only thing I don't like around here is the rent being so horribly high.
Courtney and I got the rest of the apartment packed today. I just have a little bit of stuff left to do by myself tomorrow, and then I will be finished until my Daddy comes to move the big stuff for me.
I dont know HOW we are gonna fit everything into the storage unit. I will have to remember to take my camera over there and take a picture of how packed it is in there. :o

Well yall are welcome to come visit me anytime yall want. :bigcheese:
Same goes here MelPoo...
:pwink:
Mel, you are doing a Great thing. Just keep looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of your salvation. And my the way i am honored that you call me Dad.
Thank you so much.
About the Dad thing...I told Mom once that it was hard for me to call anyone "Dad" cause I have ALWAYS been a Daddys girl and had a wonderful relationship with him, so I had never felt the need to give any other man that title. But with you it was easy, it took a little while, but it is just natural now, and I really feel like you are a wonderful Godly Father figure to me, so it is my pleasure to call you "Dad" :bigcheese: At first I didnt know how you would feel about it, or how your natural children would feel as well, but I see that I have been fully excepted as one of the family, and Tabitha even told me yesterday that I was one of yall. ;) You guys just dont know how awesome that makes me feel. *sniff*
Thanks.
Ok...back on topic here.... I have about an hours worth of work to do at the apartment today, just finishing packing the clothes that I am taking with me to MS, and cleaning the place up a bit and moving things around of what goes with us, and what goes to storage when my Daddy gets here on Tuesday. I will try to remember to take pictures today of the MASSIVE amount of stuff that I am actually getting rid of. :o (I cant believe that I am, Im sorta a packrat) And a picture of the storage unit and how much of a TIGHT fit it all will be when I get it all in there. :o
I threw away about 6 trash bags FULL of STUFF this week. I threw away mementos that I never thought I would get rid of, and stuff I have had since I was a very small child. I figured that I always have those memories, and if I died tomorrow, no one else would know what most of that stuff meant to me, so what was the point in keeping it? I kept the really important stuff, but I was surprised at myself at how much stuff I actually did throw out.
:)
It feels good to get rid of stuff, huh?
Actually, it does. :) I didnt think I would ever WANT to get rid of anything, but the more I was throwing away, the more I threw away. LOL Courtney told me she was very proud of me, she thought it was gonna be hard to get me to throw some of that stuff out.
Did ya put it at the curb and post something in Craigs list? They have freebies all the time. They call them "curb alert". Then you go find free stuff.
I hope you didn't throw good, usable stuff in the trash.
Nope. I have a huge box, two garbage bags full of clothes, and a bunch of other stuff that I will see if anyone wants, and if they dont, we will drop it off it the goodwill.
Ok so, I guess I need to update this thread some.
Sunday was my last day of services at my home church, and WOW...that was SOOO hard. I didnt think it would be that hard. They had me praise singing, and I also did two solos, one for each service. Sunday afternoon, we all went to a BBQ place called Smittys, and the youth that I normally sit with were all sad and said that next Sunday, they dont want anyone sitting in the place that I normally sit. (No matter where we go, I sit between Kyle and Alison, and across from Jessica and Jason.) After the meal, Sis Yori came up and grabbed my ticket and wouldnt let me pay...that was good since I really didnt have the money to be spending anyway. LOL
Sunday night I was doing just fine...then it was time for me to sing. Pastor got up there and made a speech that wouldnt stop. All the other praise singers sat down, and I was standing there on the platform with Pastor, all by myself while he went on and on about how much of a blessing I have been and his approval to my new endeavor, and how much I will be missed. He ALMOST made me cry in front of everyone, but then he made a funny about "At least she isnt running off and getting married...yet" and I raised my hand, and shouted "Praise the Lord!" and made everyone laugh. LOL And I sang my last song. I actually think that song turned out better than any other time I have ever sang it. Im not bragging about that, I am just saying that there was something more there this time, and I cant exactly put it into words.
After church, we went to old faithful Applebees, and at the end of that meal, Kyle and Sis Arms argued over who would pay my check. They BOTH wanted to. :o I was thinking "Where were all these people a few weeks ago when I was SOOO broke?" LOL I thought it was quite humorous. Then I said goodbye to everyone and went back to Cindys. It was VERY odd.
Monday, I slept in, went to the apartment and did some more packing/cleaning, and then I headed over to my Brothers house to visit with the kiddos for one last time. Stayed there a couple of hours, and then I went to the Arms house to say goodbye to them...we ended up talking for 4 hours, and then, at about 9ish, they asked me if they could take me out to dinner. So we went back to Applebees. We ha a WONDERFUL visit, and my only regret about making friends with these wonderful saints, is that I didnt do it sooner. I JUST in the past year started talking to them and hanging out with them, and I am really gonna miss them. :( I do already. It was really late when I got back to Cindys, and I went right to bed.
Tuesday morning, I went to the apartment and waited for my Daddy....he showed up about 10am, and we loaded the truck and headed to storage, after 4 trips, we got it ALLLLLL loaded, and there is not one more inch of space in there. We had to take out the stuff that Courtney and I packed in there and re-arrange. And I am very happy to say that we got it ALL in there, and I didnt have to get rid of the fish tank OR the dining room table and chairs. There was only one thing that I had to get rid of that I wanted to keep, and that was a tall cabinet with shelves that I have had in the kitchen with the microwave on it.
Then we took the seats out of the van and put them in storage too. But there is a story there. :bigcheese: My Dad came to Florida BROKE, and I mean broke. He didnt have any money, and was not going to have any till his check got deposited on Tuesday at midnight. So he didnt have any money till Wednesday, and I SURE didnt have any. I didnt know how I was gonna feed him on Tuesday. I had eaten a sandwich on Tuesday morning, and he ate before he left MS, but I didnt know what to do while he was in FL. So we were not worrying about that at the time, but we were working hard and loading this stuff up and getting stuff done. Well we finally had the last load all loaded in storage, and we went out to the van to take the seats out. (Dad is using the van to haul bodies, so he cant have the seats in there when he puts the caskets in) and so we started to take them out. I was on my knees in the back, and we were trying to get the third seat out from behind the drivers side when I saw something under it. It was black and I saw Spiderman. lol So I reached under the seat and pulled it out and discovered it was a small Spiderman wallet. I shoved it in my back pocket and didnt say anything to Dad. We got everything done, and I forgot about it. We got home, and Dad made a comment of how tired he was and he was getting hungry, and I remembered that wallet. I pulled it out, and I found $26.00 in cash in there. Nothing much else, a old McDonalds kids club card, and a name in it. No address or anything. So we counted it as a blessing, and went to Golden Corral for dinner. Haha...$26.00...and our bill? It was $25.85 :bigcheese:
Before we went to dinner, we dropped off a bunch of stuff at the goodwill, and then we went and I said goodbye to Granny (Sis Moms Mom)
After dinner, Dad went to visit some of his Fl friends, and I went back to Cindys...the house was empty and I realized that everyone was at the hospital cause Jonathans wife was having the baby. So I went up there and stayed toll 10, and she had the baby at 9. I went back to the house, and Jonathan called and said that he wanted me to come over in the morning before I left so I could see the baby before I left. So on Wednesday, I got up at 5:30, saw the kids off to school at 6, and by 7, I was at the hospital holding Aliyah Morgan :bigcheese: :bigcheese: Then at 8, I went BACK to the apartment and we loaded the last of the stuff in the truck and the van and by 9 we were on the road.
At noon, we stopped in Pensacola and I got to see the P'cola Girls!! We had lunch at Whataburger, and then we came on to MS.
I was in MS for only 6 hours, and I texted Mom and Justin and told them that I had already been to dinner at the Pastors house, TWO church functions, and Wal-mart TWICE :o I got here and right now is pretty much the first time I have not had anything to do especially. As SOON as I got here they had me involved with EVERYTHING. Yesterday I helped decorate the fellowship all all day, and then helped with childrens church and the big party they had for the kids last night. That was GREAT! Then I sat in the foyer till 10 last night with the young adults and we sat around bluetoothing each other ringtones. Haha.
My phone is actually cut off right now. They turned it off yesterday, and until I get some money, it will be turned off. Im fixing to e-mail some folks on EA the number of the phone I am using right now. Its my Dads body hauling business phone, so when I answer, I can say "B & B Mortuary, you stab em' we slab em' " BOL I am sooooo serious. Hehe.
So anyway...thats my update....Dad set up the motorhome last night, and got his stuff out of it, so in awhile when I get ready, I am going out there and unload my stuff and set it up in there. So by tonight, I will have my own place, and not be on this couch in my parents livingroom.
:hi:
Wow, thanks for updating us. :)

Did you do that video with your phone? That's longer than I thought you could do with a phone. :yikes: Boy isn't technology great?
Nice office and thank you for the tour.
No, I did it with my camera. My phone is laying on the desk in the video. ;)
My phone only records 15 seconds of video. But my camera records up to how ever much memory is left on the card. :)
My camera does video, too, but I don't use it for that. Takes up too much memory. I've accidently turned it to video sometimes. Good thing I could go back and retake the pics I missed because of it.
Yes it takes up a lot of the memory, but thats why you load it on the computer and clear your card so you have it all fresh and clean for the next time. :)
I fill my card up all the time, but then I empty it. I have a 1GB, not much, but I can get 200+ pictures out of it, and some videos.
We bought a new card for the camera, so I don't remember how much memory I have. I have never filled it up so it must be good. LOL
hey btw i got my box you left here at Cindy's. i don't like them straw things so i gave them to connor lastnight and i think he ending up eating about three of them before bed.
wow mel, i'm waaaay behind on the news but congrats!

God sure moves quick and completely when its a go and go now lol

So yeah, when you do another GP tour, you have to come to MS now. ;)

Exactly! Have you ever noticed how many times in Scripture it's talking about God acting, and it says "And suddenly..."??
God's amazing like that. :)
:beret:
Well he knows when it's the right time. We can only guess.
*guesses*
*and suddenly Hope hugged back*
I've lived near Josh for most of my life, as in the same city and everything. Until they moved to Florida, haha. I miss my JoshE..
That is so hilarious that he knows everyone. Too bad I didnt know this sooner before I MOVED AWAY FROM HIM!! Grrr.
That would've made a difference, huh? haha..
I have yet to go visit them. The last couple of times they've visited back here, I haven't been able to go do anything with them, haha. I've known their family for ages... like.. WAAAY back when they were silly and VERY young. The only thing that's changed is their age. ;)
If you go to FL to visit them, LET ME KNOW!! Ill go back there when you go and we could meet up! :)
Their family is awesome.
Just for those who are intrested, this is where my parents motorhome is. ;)

I know the feeling. i don't have many friends here either. I've been here awhile though. The friends I have are working now, and I'm home alone. lol. If you're not too busy I might call you in the next hour or so. How's that?

Thanks Sis!!
Gonna share? I found some sugar free ones once and Stevebert liked them and I can't find any again. They were an off brand but good.
I have never seen sugar free ones...
Wish I could find them...
I found them at a drug store with the sugar free candies. They were expensive and too many would give you UM.... stomach distress.... Yes, that's a polite way to say it. LOL But I haven't found them again.
Just say the runs or gas...
AHEM! Not appetizing. :pound:
Wasnt trying to make anyone want to run out and get food...
BOL! k *Chokes on her celery* I wasn't expecting that! :laughhard:

Wait!
Ewww you like celery...
:nono:
With cream cheese on it. And when you cut it up, instead of biting it, it's not so stringy.
Ohhh...
Ok...
:)
You could try peanut butter, or Cheese Whiz on it, too!
yuck...
LOL That's why I like cream cheese the best.
well i love it with cream cheese and raisins. yum!!!
Cream cheese is about the only thing that can make raw celery edible. :yell:
:beret:
I like it plain sometimes but cream cheese makes it better.

:laughat: Yeah!
We just don't like to waste threads. When they are finished and we have more pages to use, we use them.
This thread is FAR from finished. I bumped it to update it when I got time. I said that when I bumped it.

A woman after my own heart. I make a cream cheese dip for ruffles that people love. I hardly do anything and they love it. I just thin out cream cheese and slice green olives (thinly) and put them in the cream cheese. Easy and everyone wants me to make it for them. LOL You should try it.
I love ruffles and cottage cheese...
:)
Never tried them together becuse I usually have cream cheese around the house. It's been so long since I've had any chips. Don't miss them unless I have some then I will crave them again.
I LOVE cream cheese Sis...
I make a cream cheese dip with hot dog sauce and cheese and its delicious!
:)
When we went to Amish country, they showed us how they mix jam into cream cheese for a cracker topping. It's GREAT! Just stir jelly or jam into it. It's awsome!
Wow...
Will have to try that...
:)
Use sugar free jam/jelly or you will eat too much and you will blow your diet and exercise. LOL
You got that right girl...
Well, it's so good you will want more than one. They had about 20 different kinds and a bunch of crackers for us to try. They didn't use surgar free. I filled up on it. Bad me, but we were on vacation. I walked it off that week.
:thumbsup2:
I love walking...
Wish I could walk today...
BUT...
Nasty stinky RAIN!!!
:smirk2:
I wish I had some celery and cream cheese now. Thanks.
Ok so, I havent been in here long enough to update it, but maybe since I am sick today, I can take a little time to do so.
A LOT has happened since I moved here. And I have to say, wait on God, He DOES know what he is doing, and He does do all things well.
My job here at the church kinda fizzled out. I mean, I still work here, and have my own office, but I no longer get paid. So I had to find a full time job elsewhere. My Aunt had a spell where she passed out and was rushed to the hospital and we didnt know what happened to her, and she ended up staying in the hospital for 4 days, and while she was there, my Uncle ate in the cafeteria and asked them if they needed help. He got an application, and brought it home to me, and I filled it out and was hired on the spot. Now, I love my job, and I am making money and we are trying to get a place for me to live.
I am SOOO busy nowadays. I made friends, and we do everything together. And now that I have a job, its just been so hard to get on the internet. And I dont miss it. All of the people that I talk to the most on the computer, I text and call in the evenings anyway, so there are very few people that I dont talk to anymore at all.
On Mondays, I get up at 4am, pray from 5-6 and then I go to work, and then I have a Bible class that I go to in the evening. After that, my friends and I go out to get something to eat, and then we all go home and go to bed. If I happen to be off work, I go do street ministry with the outreach team.
Tuesdays, I get up at 4, Pray from 5-6, and then work. We dont have anything in the evening on Tuesdays, but I usually find something to do, or someone to hang out with untill late.
Wednesdays, up at 4, prayer at 5, work, and then I have sign language class at 6, then we have church prayer at 7, and after that I hang with my buddies out to eat and such.
Thursdays, up at 4, prayer at 5, work, then I have to be at the church at 5:45pm for Ensamble practice. Church at 7 and then out to eat and hang with the gals.
Friday, up at 4, prayer at 5, work, and then the youth do stuff on Friday nights, so I come hang with them if I am not with my friends out somewhere.
Saturday, up at 4, prayer at 5, and then I work some saturdays, other saturdays, Mom and Dad and I go to Mobile, AL to shop and eat, and then we come home and I either hang with the youth, or my friends come over and we pray again. OR, we go to someones house and watch a video.
Sunday, we DONT get up at 4, but I get up at 7 cause I have to be at church for practice at 8:30. Then we have SS at 9:30, and then church at 10:30. We normally get all that done by 1, or 1:30, and we go eat, and hang out doing whatever for the rest of the day. Usually, we go to Wal-Mart, and a few more places, watch a video at someones house and normally we end up back at the church to pray before we all go home to bed.
Thats pretty much a rough overview of how my life goes now. I steal a few mins here and there for checking GP and other places, but truth is, especially since I went that whole 8 days without getting on the internet at all, I dont even have it in the back of my mind anymore.
I have not even got through all the "unread replies" from that week yet, and it used to bother me, but it doesnt anymore.
*shrug*
Thats just life.
We had revival last week, and that was AWESOME! I am so looking forward to all God is doing here!
That's great Mel. It's good to see you happy. :)
Mel, your new life looks good on you. :) I love the happy, contented sound in your voice when we've chatted on the phone. It's a nice thing.

Awww, thanks Ruby! *HUGS* back
You love cottage cheese and ruffles too Becca?! I've never met anyone outside my family that has even heard of it, let alone likes it. That's cool. If we ever meet, I'll bring the Ruffles, you bring the c.cheese. :fork:
Great pics Mel! That little girl looks so fun, her hair is always wild...lol

My pleasure. I remember reading it at about two thirty one morning, and feeling sorry for you having to go through what was obviously a hard time, then thankful that God had made a way for you. I even prayed for you, that everything would work out better than you ever hoped. It wasn't but a day or two after reading this and some other threads that I decided I wanted to join up, so you can partially blame yourself for me being here to harass and otherwise torture everyone.
awww... *sniff* Mel grew up some...
I love you mel, and am really proud of all the progress you have made. keep up the good work, and don't slack it!
Yeah blame ME for you being here! Haha!
J/k I'm glad you are here, and I'm really glad I had something to do with it! Yay! And thanks for praying for me! It obviously made a difference!
Chel...thanks. Truly. ;)

You know that I'll never take the blame for anything- that's counter productive. :laughhard: There's always someone to blame for anything in your life, at least that's the way most people think.
Naturally. That's why so many lawsuits are filed, which helps lawyers buy more yachts. ;)
What a thread! Amazing read...
I should update again. Haha.
