Bernard and I are expecting our first child somewhere around October 28!
We're 3 months, just heading out of the first trimester now! We've had two scans already and it's amazing how fast the baby grows! We have another scan today (in an hr, I'll be at the doc's!!)
I know I haven't been around much lately, but I wanted to let you all know anyway :)

At our last ultrasound, the baby gave us a big "high five" - I'll show you when I get Berny to scan it in for me ;) It was SO FUNNY!! I think that baby has my huge handspan!! When I span my hand, my pinky and thumb are nearly in a straight line!! Same with baby - cute hey??

But yeah, I found out at 13 weeks - I was really surprised and asked them what % sure he was - because I never knew you could know THAT EARLY!! - he said "I'm tempted to say 100% sure, it's VERY clear!!"
My doctor is at a clinic with some of the best ultrasound technology in Hong Kong though...

I love coldstone too!! When I was in Denmark, it was FREEEZZZINNNGGG but I HAD to have coldstone - even though I was shivering and my fingernails were blue. Everyone was laughing at me ;) But I didn't think we had it in Hong Kong - I just found out that we DO - but it's not "cold stone" BRAND - it's the same style though...

You really do have to - they're awesome!! Just make sure that they're made in Australia, not Indonesia. Here in Hong Kong, we can get ones that are made in Aus, or ones made in Indonesia - and the Indonesian ones are SOOOO gross compared to the Aussie ones!!

Talking about the size - see my ticker, this week baby is meant to be 4.75 lb?? Well - two weeks ago, baby was already 5lb!! And they're meant to put on around one pound every 2 weeks or so - so by now, baby's probably already 6 lb!!

Same thing happened to us. They said September was going to be AT LEAST 8 lbs and she was 5lbs 4 oz. The Dr sounded so shocked that I thought something was wrong at first. lol

I got permission to share Nicole's news about her baby!!
Lana was born at 11:37pm on October 24th
Her full name is Lana Joy Si-Lan Luk. They pronounce Lana "Lah-nah" (some Americans pronounce it with a short "a", that's fine too, whatever!!) Si-Lan is pronounced "See-Lahn" (so the Lan sounds the same as the Lan in Lana)

She weighed 3.555kg (7lb 13oz) and was 50cm long.
My waters broke on October 23 around 10am - but my labour didn't start naturally. So I had to be induced the next morning, with the "threat" of needing an emergency cesarean if the induction was unsuccessful, because of the risk of infection.
As it was, Lana was born about 38 hours after my waters broke WITHOUT needing an emergency cesarean (although we cut it close!!) and so she had to spend her first day in the special care unit under observation, just because of the increased risk of infection.
After a day, there was no sign of infection so Lana got to be with Mummy!! YAY - and after 2 more days, we were allowed home, so we got home yesterday
So now, on my "due date", I'm home with my 4 day old angel and my sick husband (he has a bad cough) looking after the both of them

Oh wow..she is so beautiful!!! I am so happy for them, and I know they are so glad she is here, and safe with them. Thanks for posting, I was so excited about hearing more from them, and seeing pictures! :clap:

Lana's a week and a half old now, doing well!! She's a really good baby, but just hasn't learned what "night time" is yet so I'm pretty tired!!
Bernard went back to work today so I'm home alone with baby - at least for this week. On Monday, my Mum and MIL and sister will get here from Australia to "help out" and to play with the baby!!
We've had a crazy week since she was born - we have to rush to get all the paperwork done to get back to Australia for Christmas, but that's all on track, we should be fine and have a passport within 4 weeks!!
On top of everything else, I came down with Bell's Palsy after the delivery, so the right hand side of my face is paralysed (it should be only temporary, a few weeks to a few months depending on how fast I recover) - so that's been additional "fun" and I've had more doctors visits, had to go to the neurologist etc... but I'm staying positive (I am NOW at least, at first, it was REALLY hard...)
So please pray for us - we definitely need it!!

wow, nic, that is a lot of life in a small time frame. will surely be praying for you. glad the paperwork is worked out for you to take a trip home. having something to look forward to always helps in the tough days.

Nic, I didnt tell about the Bells Palsy, I didnt know how much of the stuff you wanted shared, so I just did the basic stuff, and I even edited out the more personal things in your story. :)

It's called Bell's Palsy, and it's where one of my nerves to the right hand side of my face is damaged - probably from the strain of child birth, I think... So the right hand side of my face is paralysed. When I smile, only the left side smiles, the right hand side stays the same the whole time. I can still blink though, but I can't raise my right eyebrow though.
It's only a temporary thing - it should last around a month. It's been nearly 2 weeks now and I'm starting to see some small improvements. I can SLIGHTLY move the corner of my mouth on the right hand side. It's still mostly paralysed though... But it's getting better!!

If you look at the two pics of me, they're both taken on my "bad side" from the bells palsy - they're only taken 4 days apart - and you can notice such a difference in my smile between the two pics!! And I'm still getting a little better each day now!! I think I'm now about 90% better!!
