Title: The political compass
Post by: M‡¢ĦÆŁ Ҝ on February 04, 2008, 06:57:17 PM
With the elections coming up and politics being the main topic of most news outlets these days, it may be time to check our political compass again.

CLICK HERE (http://www.politicalcompass.org/test) to check your political compass

Here are my results:
The Political Compass
Economic Left/Right: -3.75
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.28
(http://www.politicalcompass.org/facebook/pcgraphpng.php?ec=-3.75&soc=-3.28)

Keep in mind that the use of the word "libertarian" is not referring to the Libertarian political party.

"Possessing marijuana for personal use should not be a criminal offence."
"In a civilised society, one must always have people above to be obeyed and people below to be commanded."

Didn't like that they had misspellings, but..here are my results..

I assume you are referring to "offence" and "civilised."  Those spellings are common in British English.  I noticed that the web site has a lot of words spelled more in the British way.  So, technically, the words aren't misspelled, just not the Americanized versions of the words.

Dictionary.com - civilised (http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/civilised)
Dictionary.com - offense (http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/offence)

The Political Compass

Economic Left/Right: 6.75
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -4.26

The wording of the questions makes it so that my score is actually less libertarian than my beliefs themselves are.  But even with that, the results still leave no doubt that I'm libertarian in my political, governmental, and social beliefs.
