Title: poetry styles
Post by: Backseat Radio on January 11, 2008, 07:14:24 AM
I've watched some of the poetry you guys post on the board and sometimes wondered about attempting to do poetry myself.  I've not done poetry since high school so I had to do a search on styles of poetry to even know where to begin or what was appropriate for poetry.  In the proces I come across this. I had no idea there was that many styles of poetry.   some of the styles to me sound like they'd be challenging to do.

Yeah, it's pretty amazing. I would agree that some of them are very tedious to adhere to. It's pretty cool when you get one finished, though. :teeth: Then, of course, there are the fun ones like haiku and limericks.

I see my topic got moved   :o

Good thing you put where it got moved to otherwise I'd never find it again cause I rarely venture into this area of the board.

It's funny what you find in the old stuff when you see a "guest" looking at it. ;)

Mine flows kind of like a rap and kind of like a poem you would hear in a beatnik coffee place

Anybody remember Maynard before he was Gilligan? They had some Dobie Gillis shows on when I was still home before going to NY, and had someone tape me some of the shows.
