what do you like most about eboney? can she do any cool stuff?
has eboney learned any neat fire tricks yet?
No, she doesnt know any fire tricks...and she really doesnt do anything but eat, sleep and keep me company, and annoy me sometimes... but she is by far the best cat that I have ever had, and I would not trade her for anything!
ok so your cat can't do anything.... but what funny things have you done to your cat?
Why does everyone get enjoyment out of asking questions that they already know the answers to?
Well one time WE...yes WE, me and Justin, had some of this hair color spray left over from Halloween, and at the time, I had two cats...Eboni, and Peek-A-Boo, the Gay Siamese cat.
We too Peek-A-Boo and sprayed him with that hair color stuff, and he came out a nice deep purple.
Another time, we put him in a hot pink knee high, and watched as he tried to get out...THAT was funny.
We were very mean to that cat, but I havent done anything like that to Eboni.
Melody! :o I'm shocked at your behavior!
You remind me of a few PKs I _might_ know.

Like Sis, I want to know if I can buy CDs with it?
If not, I think I would donate a lump sum of it to the church, then catch up all the bills, and maybe pay the rent and car insurance ahead for about a year, and then take whatever was left and spend a day out shopping for clothes and stuff I need. Then go to the grocery store and stock up on all kinds of stuff, and then treat my friends to a nice dinner at an expensive resturant to top off the day. :)

How many duckies do you have? Want some REAL ones?
NO!!
When we lived up in Bayou George, Mom and Dad had some real Mallard Ducks that lived in our pond. The are messy, stinky and loud! I do not want any real ducks...been there, done that.
As for how many I have...I was bored one day when I first started collecting them, and I counted the ones in the bathroom...this includes the ones on the shower curtian, rugs, trash can, the walls, the shower hooks, and the actual rubber duckies...I counted over 200 THEN...I have more now...I have gotten some myself, and have got some as gifts... so yeah, I have alot, but when you look at it, it is not really alot...I counted ALL of them...on everything.
I guess I need to count them again.
Well, *Sis returns Mel's Christmas gift of real duckies*
You can't count all the duckies on ONE curtain! It's ONE ducky thing! :laughhard:
No, I counted them ALL...but if it makes you feel any better...I only count the whole ones...if they are like on the edge and only a partial duckie...I dont count it.
:)
What do you do at work?
Nothing...Talk on the phone and surf the net...for real...
But I will explain that more later...Got to go to bed.

Justin!!!! :laughhard:
He is right...from 11pm to 4am, I dont do anything much except answer the buzzers if they go off.
I look after 12 people currently, and they are all asleep. Except Buzz, who has a weak bladder and he calls me at least once a night so I can empty his urinal. So I talk to Jennie, who is normally up all night too, and whoever else wants to call me while I am up all night. And I surf the net. Ruby is normally online for awhile, and I talk to her...but by 1am to 2am, the net pretty much dies cause everyone goes to bed. Thats when I play games online, or just do whatever...watch videos on YouTube, watch movies, or whatever else I decide to look up.
At 4am, I put my toys away, make some coffee, and get Buzz up, he has to have help getting dressed cause he is paralized. On Tuesday mornings, I strip his bed and wash his sheets. From 4:20-5:50, I read, if the papers are early, I can read one of them, or I read a book I bring. Last night I did most of my Christmas cards during that gap.
At 5:50, I make another pot of coffee, deliver the papers and pour 11 glasses of juice. Then I wake Gloria up at 6. I help her start getting dressed and while she is finishing, I prepare the meds for Leo, Mae and Bill. At 6:30, I push her to the dining room and pass out the meds. Make another pot of coffee. Then I go wake Marge up. Get her dressed, and push her to the dining room, by this time I am pushing it, normally by 6:50, I am done with everyone, and I have to take out the trash make a 4th pot of coffee. Make sure eyeryone is ok...and write my report about how slow it was, and sign the MAR to show I passed the meds. By that time my relief is supposed to be there and I can go home.
Thats pretty much it...nothing till 4, then nothing till 6...then running around solid till 7 when I get to go home. Sometimes they leave me some laundry in the laundry room and I wash and fold and put that away sometime during the night. On cold nights I let the dog in when I get there, and let him out when the sun comes up. Just little things here and there. Nothing big.
I LOVE MY JOB!
how is the guy that fell doing?
He had surgery on Friday, and he is still in the hosp. He is headed to rehab when he gets out, and his Son and DIL came in on Saturday and said he might not be able to come back to us...we will see. They dont know if he will ever be able to walk again.
We are limited on the amount of care we can give...we are only an ALF.
awwww.......sorry to hear that, will keep him in prayers
That's terrible that they make those people get up so early. UGH.
If I make it to a ripe old age, I pray that I have enough money to stay in my own home. I'd hate to have to go according to some home's schedule. My whole life, I've been a night person and slept late. I only had a few jobs where I had to be at work at 8. Hated those. Wouldn't want to have to change my whole body clock because some home wants to make everyone go to bed with the chickens and get up with the old roosters. BLAH
Ummm I hate to tell you this, but we dont make them get up that early...If I didnt go down there to get Buzz up at 4, he would be ringing his buzzer and asking me why I am late getting him up...they WANT to get up that early...beats all I have ever seen. I have worked in ALFs for 7 years now, and both places I worked...residents started getting up at 3:30...they WANT to...its stupid...I agree with you, if I dont have to get up early, I wouldnt. Gloria has a cow if get busy and I am not in her room by 6:10. Everyone else gets up on their own (except Marge) and by the time I leave, EVERYONE is up and dressed...BY CHOICE.
You don't get up early, you stay up all night! :laughhard:
I tell Stevebert the only way he can get me up at 4 am is if I just stayed up all night. :thumbsup2:

*Why do we press harder on a remote control when we know the batteries are getting weak?
*Whose idea was it to put an "S" in the word "lisp"?
*Why do people keep running over a string a dozen times with their vacuum cleaner, then reach down, pick it up, examine it, then put it down to give the vacuum one more chance?
*Why is it that whenever you attempt to catch something that's falling off
the table you always manage to knock something else over?

If God were to grant you one favor, what would you ask?
WOW...so much to ask for. Just one eh?
I really dont know...I was fixing to say that I would want him to take away my memories of all the bad things, and the battles that I face daily, BUT, then I would not be able to help others with the same struggles. I wanted to say that I wanted to be sure of my salvation, and not ever fall again, but then that is totally selfish, I know what I have to do to keep my salvation, and I dont need to take the lazy way out. I want to say sure salvation for all my family and friends, but then that counts as more than one. I want to say "Just take me now Lord, Im tired of all this mess in the world, I want to see Heaven" but again that is selfish and would not be fulfilling the work I am supposed to do before I die.
Really I dont know.

Smallest baby...hmmm...that would have to be my Emily. She was in the NICU when she was born, and she was very small. I forget how small, but she was there a week, and I got up early every day and visited her before I went to work, and I brought Honor breakfast everyday. She was teeny, and had wires and cords all over her. :( But God healed her!! And she is just fine now with no major health problems!

Haha...
No, I dont get grossed out easily, I LOVE watching those operation shows, and the bizzare things on the medical shows. I dont wanna see it IRL, but I like watching the shows and stuff. But yet, sometimes when I see a kid with a snotty nose, it mages me gag... go figure. I never thought I would like doing what I do for a job now, but I can change and clean up the residents when they have "messes" and when they are sick...but then after it is all cleaned up and everythng is over, about an our later, I throw up myself. EVERY time. *shrug*
My favorite soup is Squash. MMMMMMMMM YUMMY.
I used to wear a cap. I loved wearing a cap, I still have a few, but never wear them. I never wear any other hats either.
The weirdest award... *Big GRIN* In 5th grade, I won an award for the most books read during class time. I hit books in my dest and in the textbooks and read them when I was supposed to be doing my work. They were always being taken away from me. I wouldalso go to the library and get two new books EVERY DAY. On fridays, most of the kids would check out two books, and they didnt even read one of them over the whole weekend...I was permitted to check out five, and I would have them all read before Sunday most weeks...I couldnt wait for Monday to get there do I cough get some more. The librarians LOVED me. :)
lol! thats great!
what are you goingto do with all the phones you have gotten?
With all the phones? I dont understand what you mean?
I just got a new one, my old one is for a back up, and I have either sold, broke, or given away all the previous ones I had.
ohhhhhh. nevermind then. lol
Why? You need one? What carrier do you have?
Cingular/AT&T- whatever it is now.
and yes. The one that i had changed into is a rather older one, its an old nokia bar phone that has an AWESOME battery life... but alas... i found out at a rather inopportune time that it has problems as well. A couple weeks ago right after i had switched to this phone because the screen went out on the one i was using... i had the alarm on my phone set on it to go off at 7- because i had clinicals at Hospice that started at 8:30. Well... i ended up waking up in the middle of the night becasue of a stomach ache, looked at my phone, which said 8:12- (and the electricity in our house had been off the night before because of a storm, so i couldnt check the clock in my room) and i live 35 min away from where i was supposed to meet her. So... I called the lady i was supposed to be meeting and said "Hey, I just wanted you to know that i just woke up and i'm really sorry, i know i'm going to be late" and she was like, are you serious? do you know what time it is? I said "no... what time is it?" and she said... "it's 3:00 in the morning" and so i was like... "oh-no! i am so sorry!" and all that jazz.
Well... she was really nice about it... even though i woke her and her husband up at 3 in the morning... lol, and then she mentioned it in passing, to her boss, who called my clinical instructor, who called me on my cell during lunch that day (which was not a good day already, and i started crying in the middle of the mexican restaurant) and i ended up having to leave clinical's early, and go have a conference with her becuase "that is just not like you, you wouldnt do something like that! I need you to come talk to me so i know that everything is ok with you"
I have found my phone to be randomly wrong a few times since then as well.
And thats why i think i need a new phone.
The end!
LOL
Thats great.... I once dropped my phone in a pot of beans....but Justin has me beat, the other day he called me just to tell me he dropped his Blackberry in a bowl of cereal.
ohh man! that would stink!
It still works though. He just transferred his chip into an old phone for a few days and let the Blackberry dry out.
My Phone also worked after I dropped it in the beans, I just rinsed it really well, and then let it dry for a few days too. It wouldnt ring anymore though. Had to keep it on vibrate.
Now I'm hungry for some red beans..ahhh, a meal from when i was grwing up..fried squirrel, red beans and corn bread or biscuits..back in the humble home of my favorite uncle..he died at 88 without ever having married..anyways.
Lady Melody,
Are you looking forward to Aoril?

Hmmm... I prefer strawberries or bananas in my cereal, but I guess the occasional blackberry isn't that bad. lol
BOL! I didnt think of it that way...Ill have to tell him that. Or maybe he will see this.
the way i thought of it...there are a lot worse 'bowls' it could have been dropped into... ones that would take more courage to get it out than a 'cereal' bowl...
I know 2 people who did that too...and they DID get it out and it still worked.. EWWWW

If you could go back to any age and start a different life, what age would that be?
If I was gonna go back, I might as well go all the way and start with being born.
But truthfully, I wouldnt want to go back...yes I would like to have the innocence about things that I once had, so my mind is not so warped and vile. But its the experiences that I have had in my lifetime that has made me the person I am today, and although I still need some work to be a better person, I dont think I want to change who I am, and who I have become.
yeah i agree with you on that, unless i could change who i was born to lol
Even with all the family problems I have, I wouldnt change that either. I have an awesome heritage, despite all the junk with the family.
Maybe change the way things were done in the family...less yelling, more talking and family time. Family sit down dinners instead of fighting over the good spot in front of the TV, the way we were taught about things that we had no business knowing about, lots of things like that, but the same people. I do love my family.
nah i would want a whole new family lol

Well this certainly is an odd question. But to answer it truthfully, I would have to say that the sound that they make gets my attention the fastest, but the smell, well, that holds my attention the longest. But really, I think that they need to excuse themselves or do it in a inconspicuous manner where they DONT get noticed, cause in public, it is very rude.

if someone were flarting on you, what would it take for them to get your attention?
Well this certainly is an odd question. But to answer it truthfully, I would have to say that the sound that they make gets my attention the fastest, but the smell, well, that holds my attention the longest. But really, I think that they need to excuse themselves or do it in a inconspicuous manner where they DONT get noticed, cause in public, it is very rude.
I give the credit to Mel :laughhard:
I tried to use the other word...I saw it was gonna edit me, so I changed it. That IS what Chel was talking about right?
:hypocrite:
haha! thats great!
now for the answer to the first question... lol...
you know what they say about silence dont you?
Silence is deadly?
You bet! lol.
girl, you are so good at beating around the bush... (no pun intended... REG!)
BOL!!
The other word is in the no-no list because some Christians consider it swearing. So not to offend anyone, we just don't use it. I know some don't and that's kewel, too. It's personal preference.
My family used to consider it swearing and they weren't even Christian. I still have trouble saying it without guilt. :goodmod:

Just don't beat around the burning bush. It's on holy ground because Freeze-it set it on fire. And we all know Freeze-it is Pentecostal flame starter, so it's holy. :laughhard:

Sure....
I used to live out on the country with my parents, and we had an acre of land. We didnt have trash pick up so we burned the trash in a big burn barrell. This was my job cause I loved setting things on fire...well one day, there was an empty Freeze it hairspray can in there, and I didnt know it. We normally put stuff like that in another bag to throw away elsewhere. And I was standing there burning the trash, and there was a big bang, and all this stuff comes exploding out of the barrell, and floating down, and something landed in my hair, and caught my hair on fire. My Mom was out there and she screamed and started slapping me in the head, trying to put it out...it was crazy. We got it out, and a big section of my hair was burned off. So yeah...thats the story of the burning Bush. :D

Melody,
How did you and Ruby become such good friends?
Well. We met on GP of course. And Im not sure why we clicked or started talking, but one day last March, or was it April? We started talking on IM, and we found out we are a LOT alike. Then there was a couple of phone calls, and we got to where we would talk on IM daily. We both grew up in and around a Pastors home, so we have a lot in common with the way we think about things. Sometimes I really think she has the other half of my brain. We had our first REAL serious conversation on May 2nd. And from that point on we have found out that we are not alone in things that we always thought we were alone in. And we have made a pact to help each other with those things. I can tell her ANYTHING, and some things I have told her, I had never shared with anyone, and I didnt even like to admit them to myself. But she has truly been a great friend to me, and was truly sent by God into my life.
And I get to meet her on March 30!!!!! :hyper:
I get a REAL Ruby Hug!!
So how did we become such good friends? It was a God thing...simple as that. :D

When Stevebert read this story, this is the note he emailed to me......
I liked this story. Reminded me of my long-ago burn-barrel experience in Proctor, MN at age seven where instead of paying attention to the fire I was playing "torch," accidentally set our backyard tallgrass afire, the fire dept came to put it out, and I got my one and only belt-lickin'. That's the story of the burning bottom.

LOOOOOOONG. Tiring. SAD.
I dont wanna be here.

Yes he does. He is sleeping. :)
Will you be coming back to our great state of Indiana any time soon? Like May for my birthday? LOL
I hope to come back up there soon. I dont know when, or how, but I want to. It really is a great state. I should have went a long time ago!
Dearest Mel... Weren't you supposed to call me last night?!?!?!?
I was. And I didnt. I was at work, and I was bummed, and I really didnt feel like crying anymore, and talking to you would have made me cry. Like it did earlier yesterday.
Im sorry. Ill call you tonight.
Im glad you got your phone fixed. ;)
I tried to call Sherry last night, but she wasnt at work. I would like to talk to her, let her know Im thinking and praying for her.
Well I don't want to make you cry. But I would enjoy talking with you ;)*
Yes, it would be nice if you got to talk to Sherry!
It was just the way I was feeling last night...although today isnt much better, but I havent cried today, so thats a plus. LOL Yet at least.
But yes, I do want to talk to you. :)
*HUG*
*HUG* :D
I talked to sherry's mom today... She doesnt work there anymore. She got fired.
:o
Was it because of us?
i dont think so. She said it was because they said she was talking about another hotel that was hiring? or something like that? she talked really fast, and i didnt want to interrupt... lol, but i'm pretty sure that was the gyst of it.
So, she is looking for another job.
Leicee said that the guy at the desk asked her if she was one of the ones praying for Sherry, he saw the security tape. :o
I wonder if they had them in the pool area too?
i'm sure of it.
Im glad I didnt go swimming after all. LOL
I was gonna go before the hotel filled up with Apostolics. LOL
I was gonna go after it filled up... lol! I just never did do it.
Justin did, twice. LOL
He showed Ruby the frog jump. :)
I would have went if Ruby would have allowed us to give her lessons. But she didnt trust us for some reason. :hypocrite:
i would have loved to give her a lesson! wonder if she would have trusted me?
do like my dad did me lol
throw her in the deep end and say sink or swim lol
That's prezactly why I won't get in water above my waist, Tricia. I've had that done.
It didn't work.
:beret:
I stepped off a ledge type thing in a river and fell/walked into deep deep water. Now I panic if water gets too high on me.
ohh... i did that too Wired... and i totally feaked out for a full 5 seconds... my mom was about to jump in and grab me when i figured out how to doggie paddle and saved her from getting wet! that is totally terrifying! especially when you are younger like i was!
I think I was 9. I went under many many times and when I finally got my foot on a log or something and got above water my uncle had jumped in and my dad was on the verge of it...lol
This summer--Im 28--I let my husband take me out in water that was above my head. I was on his back though piggy back style...lol (he's 6'1--Im 5'3) It was a total trust issue though. I was scared but he talked me into it.
I"ve always been afraid of water. water up to my waist is about as deep as I'll go and thats only in calm water like a pool would have. My fear of water is one of the things I had to deal with when I got baptized.
yeah. My dad is still deathly scare of water... and as a result, we wernt allowed to be around it much...
I grew up in a home that didn't allow us to do any swimming stuff so I never learned to swim and never felt safe around water because of it.
My mother was terrified of water over her head. We never knew if my dad COULD swim or not. He just never went into the water. My mother made sure my brother and I could handle ourselves in the water because she was too afraid to come and get us if we got into trouble, so she got us lessons at the Y as soon as they would take us. I think I was four or five when I got lessons. I love the water. I have stories about swimming in pools, though.

How was your chocolate shake?
It was great!! Thanks!
Im sorry I was incoherant...I was alseep. LOL
I realized when you left, that I might have been rude. Im sorry! And I DO thank you for the shake...but it tasted like that Caramel Mocha one they have...not choc. But it was wonderful!
Thank you again!! And for getting the cake tote for me...I am sure Mom and Bro Dad will thank you for that too...if we can figure out the next step now. Hmmmm

I need another guy hug. And Justin gave me the best guy hug I've had since January. :thumbsup2:
:beret:
The one where he was falling over himself to get to you...or another one? :hypocrite:
Admittedly, he _was_ pretty cute, but I was thinking of a different one. :)
:beret:
:thumbsup2:
*shares Aaron's popcorn*
You jealous, buddy? She's huggin' another guy. *shaking my head* I dunno what you're gonna do with her.

I'll share with you to make up for taking some of yours, ok?
:biglaugh:
:beret:

YES!!!
Girl...you just dont know HOW ready I am right now...if gas wasnt so high, and I had some money and some time off...I would be up th NC in a heartbeat!! I would come see you for a couple of nights and then spend the rest of the week with Mom. UGH. I REALLY want to be there. :sadbounce:
Melody has the NC fever  It's just a matter of time before she gets here. :freaky2:
Ok....so what did you edit?
I hit two key when I was typing so I corrected it. When are you coming?
Just making sure you didnt say something that I might have wanted to see and then you edited before I could... (that edit thing annoys me, and even more in a post that is directed AT me! LOL) I am SOOO going to regret saying that...I know I am. *shakes head*
When am I coming to NC?
I am sure that the next time I am able to make it to NC, you will be a permanent fixture up there. Cause it looks to be awhile. :smirk2: And I dont want to come cause I am in love with NC or anyone there, I just REALLY miss Mom. Plain and simple.
Taylor the Latte Boy is just awesome.
Now should I edit this post just to see if you growl? hehehe :D love ya!

And why is that? What have I done that makes you so eager to meet ME? LOL I have barely ever even talked to you before. Haha...no reason for that, I just havent...much. ;)
Thanks Chel. ;)
Right? I don't get on IM much, but I've been on a bit more lately...
I like meeting people... :)
It's gonna be great! We is gonna have lotsa fun...
Haha...I dont even have you on my IM. Do you Yahoo or MSN?
Both.
I have Trillian, so it's all in one.
aajr17@hotmail.com
and pyrrhos513@yahoo.com...
Everybody add me. :P
<yes, I edited.> :P
Everybody?!? That's a lot o' people. :o
*watches the frenzy begin*
*remembers that mob mentalities are usually bad things*
:biglaugh:
:beret:
I used to have Trillion...then some dork logged in to his account on my computer and it merged ALLLLL our contacts together and a bunch of people I didnt know started IMing me all the time, so I got rid of it and went back to the old way. LOL
Trillian's pretty awesome!
I might get it again, but I dont have anyone that I talk to on ICQ or AOL anymore, so yeah...at one time, I had 4 IM programs, and I had mIrc and I was REALLY active in chat...
I would have the chat going with a bunch of PMs from there, and then all 4 of my messengers open and visible...and I could have as many as about 7 or 8 conversations going at once. I was crazy with it. Sometimes more. Now...if I have more than 2 I tend to get overwhelmed. Some nights I can, but normally I dont have that many people chatting at me all at once. LOL
Im not as popular as SOME... LOL
:eyebrow: Uh huh.
Yes, I saw that. ;)
:beret:
I knew you would...you ARE the top Easter Egg finder.
:laughat:

And Haha on YOU...you dont have his e-mail....you dont even know his last name...and no one that you know, knows him. Sooooo :girltongue:
I am the only one connected to him out of the people that you know, and I am not giving you his e-mail.
AND NOOOO WAY, I am NOT posting that pic, and if you do, you are dead meat!! LOL There is a very small chance that someone might reconize him. And THEN I would be in DEEP trouble.

I DO have ways of getting his email. Several ways actually. And NONE of them include asking you for it. You DID tell me his last name, and I DO know of other people who know him. *chortles delightedly* *dances around, just out of reach of Mel*
*considers posting a certain pic, and wonders if the pounding would be worth it*
