I don't like talking on the phone, as a general rule, and seldom answer my cell phone even if it's sitting right beside me. Soooo.... Mel discovered a way around it. She knows if she calls the house phone, my family (particularly David) will just hand me the phone. They're so helpful. *dry tone*

:beret:
Good explanations. Very good.
i love randomness!
what do you do when you accidentally delete a whole big project by accident, and then save the blank page?
What do _I_ do? I wail "Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.........." and then I call Trent. :D Well, sometimes I call K first, but if she can't help, then I call T anyway. ;)
:beret:
why?
what does trent do?
He apperently can get her to answer the phone at any given moment, and he can get her to call him at random times, just because.

Trenton is one exception to my 'I hate phones' statement. I would say the only exception... but it wouldn't be strictly true. *smile*
But you're right: Trent can get through on my phone at any time, day or night, for any reason. And I do call him at random times and just because, partially because we have the understanding that either of us can come or go as we need to. *smile* But I'll take even two minutes on the phone with him.
*sigh* Blah. Now I'm missing him really badly.

Ooooo.... :freaky2: .... I'm SO glad you asked. That's one answer I found a long time ago. Hang on.... gonna go find the file of notes on my computer....
:beret:
Okay, sooo...
These answers are only from the book of Ephesians, so obviously there's a lot more to be discovered. But just the ones I found here are plenty amazing. All through Ephesians you find two little words over and over again--"In Christ".... so I started listing off some of the things I found, and came up with the following...
In Christ I am...
given every spiritual blessing
chosen
blameless
adopted
redeemed
given the purpose of His will
full of hope
included
marked with His seal
given mighty strength
seated in the heavenly realms
given kindness
created
brought near
joined together
a sharer in the Promise
given the revelation of mysteries
able to approach God with freedom and confidence
given forgiveness
taught truth
brought light
given strength
...and THAT's only the tip of the iceberg, too!
:beret:
WOW.
Ummmmmm.... Yeah.

If I had somewhere to go, and someone to be with, I would do it.
The reason I cant do it now, is I dont have anywhere else to be... and there isnt ANYONE to hang with for longer than a couple of hours. Seriously.
:smirk2:
I would LOVE to take off and not have any of those things, just be in the woods or wherever with friends....or the family that I get along with.
If yall notice...I didnt post much while we were IN Indy, and I was not on the phone much either, exept to the ones that were there, to see where/what was going on...when I am around people...especially friends, I am fine without the computer and the phone. Seriously.

The CA trip is family vacation. We're planning to take the mini motor home and a tent, and go plant ourselves in a campground for a week.
*tries to imagine a week without phones ringing*
*tries to imagine a week without a schedule*
*tries to imagine a week without her laptop*
*tries to imagine a week without freight and students*
*tries to imagine a week without church involvements*
Sounds almost too good to be true. :cloud9:

Ummm...

I hate to break it to you, but...

Hahaha!!
:hypocrite:
We may not have a Ruby-less week after all.
Cell phones may have a hard time working where we're going in June!
John :waving:
Maybe we'll just have to all make a trek to the library one day to post some pictures and make a few phone calls!
I must admit that I was REALLY weirded out by the fact that the State Park area at the BEACH here has wi-fi access! I'm thinking: go to the beach to RELAX, not TYPE! sheesh.
So, Ruby... Will you be taking your laptop to the Redwood Forest?
:sing: From the Redwood forrest, to the Gulf Stream waters...this land was made for you and me!! :sing:
FYI: I might not have know where the Redwoods were, but I DO know that the best Gulf Stream waters is in FLORIDA!!
So...when you coming to Fla?

That's the hope, Jennica. :) I'm planning a 3 month mission trip. Sooo... barring anything unforeseen that would stop me from going... it's in the works.
I told Melody last night that I've been working and saving for years, for 'someday when' or 'someday if'. I decided 2008 was 'someday'. *smile*

What do you know now, that you didn't know at 21?
A lot. But here are a few things:
I've learned that a broken heart can take 7 years to recover from
I've learned that being transparent with a friend or two can drastically cut how scary a battle is
I've learned that I need friends of both genders, not just my female friends
I've learned that I can trust my Dad with far more than I used to think I could
I've learned that it's sometimes good to say 'no' to more responsibilities
I've learned that my bosses at work do not own me, and I can even say 'no' to them.
I've learned that I have more to be thankful for than I used to realize
I've learned that NO ONE is perfect, even people I thought were
I've learned that brothers can be ranked among best friends, not just the little brother category
I've learned that little sisters are perceptive enough to pick up on things most people miss
I've learned that when you think no one cares, and no one sees, and no one understands, God has ways of having people pray for you... from around the world. Even when there isn't any possible way for them to have heard/seen anything about/in your life.
I've learned that words can kill
I've learned that words can heal
I've learned that compassion goes a long ways towards helping people
I've learned that a listening ear and a hug can go a lot farther than advice or a lecture
I've learned that most of the things people worry about aren't worth worrying over
I've learned that God is full of surprises... but they're all good ones
I've learned to praise Him in the storm
I've learned that faith is not a feeling. I knew it with my head before... now I know it by experience.
Okay, that was more than a few.
:beret:

Ohhhhh yeah. I've seen:
-brides acting like 2 yr olds, and throwing temper tantrums
-mothers making all the decisions the bride and groom should have been making
-siblings who looked like they were at a funeral instead of a wedding
-ministers who didn't know which side of the room the groom was supposed to be standing on, five minutes before the ceremony
But maybe you meant 'stuff' and not 'people stuff'. *grin* In that case, I've seen:
-immodest wedding dresses
-unity candles (Hey, the idea behind them is grand... the horror stories are, well, horror stories. LOL)
-completely ugly decorations at the reception (Trust me! It would have been better to have NO decorations at all!)
What I do want to do is:
-have several ministers who have been big influences in my life pray for us
-have white lights and tulle.... everywhere!
-be relaxed enough to enjoy the day
-pause often, and 'freeze' the moment in my mind, so the memories wont be a blur
-have you take pictures ;)
-remember it's not about the 'stuff', it's about beginning a new life together
:beret:
hmmm....
John :waving:
Why did I have a feeling you'd be in here 'hmming' soon?

Cause thats his job.
What horror stories about unity candles? I have never heard any...and what is the idea behind them? I have never heard that either.
The idea as in, two lights creating one light... I like the symbolism, I just don't like the whole scenario of veils going up in smoke, and singed hair, and burned hands, and.... LOL Truly, I know of some awful stuff that resulted from unity candles.
:beret:
Hmmmm....must be a western thing.
They do unity candles around here too, maybe it's just not a Florida thing.

I think that kind's spelled "hott."
Ahhh... I see... Add a little extra "T" to the "hot"? :freaky2:

Dear Miss Ruby:
What OTHER requirements are you looking for in your spouse besides body temperature?
You mean besides having two Vespas, and wanting 17 children? *wicked grin*
:beret:
yup
*laugh*
Well... there's this small matter I posted about on my blog. *smile* If he can pass that requirement, he should be okay. Most everything else is superficial.
And really... he wouldn't have to want 17 children. It would be fine with me if he wanted 22. :hypocrite:

RUBY!! What is your favorite Christmas Memory?
I have too many to list. :) But one among the top of my list would be the year we put David inside a Christmas stocking. *grin* Yes, really.
:beret:
Oooooo do tell...and more importantly...do you have pics?
Pics, yes. But they're not in digital form. You'll have to come visit me to see them. ;)
His birthday is Dec 17, so he was really tiny when they brought him home for Christmas. We had this red furry stocking, with white fur trim, and he was so little he fit right inside it.
Now, however, he can't even get one foot inside it. Yes, really. ;)
:beret:
I believe that...and as for seeing the pics....I will get there...eventually. ;)
Oh wow. I just realized that his birthday is directly in between ours. LOL Thats cool. I might not forget when it is. :)

He's baaaaaaaaack!
Shhhhhh....we had moved on and ppl had forgot about that incident...dont bring it back up!
So Ruby...if you just found out that you have a great Aunt that you didnt know, and she left you 1 million dollars, what would you do with it?
Ummm... a million? On one hand that sounds like a tremendous amount of money, but realistically, it's not so much.... at least, around here. Let's see... I could buy 4 small/medium houses... or one medium/large sized property.... or....
Nah. Truly, I think I'd use it mostly on other people. I'd fly Trent home for a month. I'd put a big chunk of money toward a big house for Don and Sarah, so's they could take in a bunch of foster kids (that's what they're praying for, and it'd be really cool to help make it happen). I'd send my Dad and Mama on a looooooooooooong vacation... say, three to six months. And whatever was left over, I'd put into missions.
Or I might just put it all into missions to begin with. :) Who knows?
:beret:
There are all kinds of missions...
You are on one. ;)
I am? Could you 'splain please? Me confused.
:beret:
The world is a mission field. Even your corner of Oregon. But beyond that, you are on another mission. To break out of fear, to branch out and find the place God has for you, to find your lifelong mate, etc. :bigcheese:
Okay, the Oregon thing, true... I'd be ever so happy to have a big chunk of money to put towards starting another church nearby.
But the other? Methinks those don't really take money.
Unless, of course, said guy would only marry for money. In which case, I don't want him anyhow. ;)
:beret:
Nah, you don't want someone like that. But I was thinking of the traveling you want to do and the foster kids that are for sure a mission field.
Oooooohhhhhh... *brain finally turns on*
Sorry. Me slow this morning. ;)
And yes, that would be worth putting money into. LOL

Ruby: Exactly how long does it take until a newbie isn't a newbie any longer?
Elona, m'dear, you have been wicked. But I shall forgive you and answer your question.
A newbie is no longer a newbie when:
-they have their own ask thread
-they can recognize Sethers, Sir John, B, Tsoggi, Aaron, Melody, Chel, Mary by their avatar on any given day
-they know they would recognize the above named people walking down the street, even if they met them in Egypt
-they know who the Carrier Pigeons are
-they know the meaning of DOME
-they know who The Sugarplum Fairy is
-they know who Adorabella is
-they start using everyone's names and/or nicknames when addressing them on the board
There may be a few more things, but I guess that list will suffice for the moment.
Aaaaannnndddd.... if they can list off all my relatives who are members, using both their screen names and their real names, and tell how they're related to me and where they live..... that's when when you know they're _really_ good.
Explanation for the above: Sir John put all the crazy pieces of my (now non-posting) family together recently, and got them all correct. I knew Sir John was good--I just didn't know he was _that_ good! :biglaugh:
There are a few other posters who know all my various family members on the board, but they had inside info, so it doesn't quite count. ;):beret:
And I thought that I was doing pretty good, but I don't know who the Carrier Pigeons are... :(
