Today was grand. I was off, and slept in. Got up and ate a big slice of Amish bread I baked last night. Then I later cooked some delicious T-bone steaks. Finally, I went and cleaned the shop, apologized to Sam and begged him into starting so I could get him out of the back yard before the next monsoon stranded him there until summer, and took Chey on a brief cruise in her 'vette. Now I'm vegging with my new favorite snack- dark chocolate cocoa roasted almonds. No, they are not chocolate covered, just roasted with cocoa. Absolutely delish, not nut tasting so much as chocolate tasting. My only issue is I have to keep my teeth in to eat 'em. :pound:
And slight vent- I posted a set of very nice aluminum wheels on fb- the ones that were on the corvette. Not my style but nice. Priced them at $250, figuring I'd take $200. I had an idiot offer me $100. Snooped his page- it's all pro-socialism and for sale ads. So big boy, you hate capitalism, but you sure are enjoying buying cheap and reselling. I do believe that is- capitalism. Flippin' moron.

Those almonds can be a shock to somebody who is expecting candy-coated nuts, but they sure are good. :)

In local news: My Grandma now has Alexa. Or rather, she has a spare android phone that is doing the same job. I figured if Google Assistant is the programming behind the Google Home pod (Google's answer to Alexa) then why not just use it on a phone? I quickly found out the reason: Google Assistant does not unlock your phone by voice command, for security reasons. I also quickly found the answer: Go into developer options and set the phone to never lock the screen while it is plugged in.

I paired the phone with a speaker I had lying around (I have lots of speakers lying around) and set it to never lock the screen, and now all she has to do is say "Hey Google (command)" and it does it.

"Hey Google, call Rick (or Fred or Diane or anybody in her contacts list.)"
"Hey Google, what's the weather like?"
"Hey Google, what time does Piggly Wiggly in (our town) close?"
"Hey Google, shuffle Gospel" (the playlist I made for the phone.)

I did warn her to never, ever say "Hey Google, good morning." I was looking up various things about Google Assistant and found out that is its command to start a morning routine... so I tried it. That little thing started talking and wouldn't stop! It gave me the time, the day, the weather report, then it started playing news headlines from around the world and I couldn't even make it stop by saying "Hey Google, shut up!"

We have a few Alexa things. We love it for alarms, timers, games, music, and for the weather plus more I'm sure. Jeremy uses it for gaming sometimes and has it set up with his own weird language and triggers haha. We go from talking really sweet and polite to Alexa.. to yelling at her to stop creeping or to hush, hahaha. She gets a little chatty sometimes. :)

@Work. :)

Ain't talking to something with Artificial Intelligence unless it's Mini. :ugly:

Morning, all. Kinda soggy here. Slogging through the day, listening to blues guitar. Lord, I wish I could play like that. Ok, I wish I could play, period, but to bend strings like these cats do would be awesome.

I listen to a lot of christian rap. Lecrae, TripLee, Cass, Flame. Etc. It's my jam. I'm ghetto though. And gangster.

LOL. Rap of any type is probably one of like three types of music I CANNOT appreciate despite trying. The other two are any type of techno-music, and opera/classical. And I will admit that at times I can listen to some classical.
Me- country style, old gospel, even a little hair band screaming guitar, yeah I can listen to that. I will say that the older I get though, the more I appreciate the songs I remember my mama listening to. Used to, as a rebel kid and general idiot, I listened to a lot of rock, outlaw country, that type despite hearing preaching against it.
Now, I find myself listening to and longing for the sounds of the Hinsons, McGruders (who I used to hate), Quinton Mills, pretty much any of the old gospel hymns.
I don't have anything against newer music. I like some of it, but the old stuff takes me to a simpler time- a time when it seemed like everyone I knew was at least trying to live for God, and those who weren't were open about it and admitted their fault, not making excuses as to why their lifestyle was right.
I miss the simple days.

Oh I def. dont listen to much newer stuff. Only new stuff I listen to is from gospel artists.

I love rap because it's the music I go to when I am feeling grumpy. Or when I don't wanna sing. I have to have music that I can't sing to otherwise I will want to sing and sometimes I just dont wanna sing. I need to feel. Or sit with my body and listen. Music is for every emotion. That's why I believe in music outside of something christian. There is music for everything. And I believe while you can get spirits attached by the music you listen to I don't believe it's all bad or all good. It's with everything else meant to be taken with caution as is with anything you put before your eyes.  You can't romance to Jesus Take the Wheel. hahaha....

I also listen to techno-ish - when you need a fast paced environment cus you wanna exercise something churchy just dont cut it. I dont wanna shout haha...I want to exercise......But there are TONS of techno/revamped styles of christian artists who've done techno. Even the old group Avalon did a techno album. I also love opera and LOVE classical. You probably don't like any motown or jazz either. Smh. We are quite opposites sir haha...Cus I hate southern gospel and country.

If more people let Him take the wheel in that particular area, we'd have less relationship wrecks. :laughhard:

Yeah, we be opposites. But that's what makes the world interesting. People have the right to have terrible tastes, and I will love 'em in spite of it. :hypocrite:

In sharing, today was approximately 7 gazillion years long. And my work truck got taken by another officer for tomorrow, inconveniencing me. And it's been raining most of the day which makes me more grumpy than normal. I'm not sure I'm even human today. But, on the bright side, the center caps for the 'vette came in today. It looks much better.

Been cool, overcast, but dry here today. Tonight is church night, which means my body automatically decides it is good to hurt and want to sleep. :pound:
Plugging through the day. Just two more days this week...wishin' my life away, livin' for the weekend. A weekend that I shall do nothing, in all likelihood.

Cold and overcast here too. I hate it. I've got a wicked headache. Plus other womanly symptoms.
Days like today I'm beyond blessed to work from home...in my bed...under the covers with the heating pad.

Update: it's started raining. lol

Urgh. One more day after today. I am majorly dragging. It's apparent I am NOT a morning person. IT was sleeting here this morning, but warm enough nothing is/was sticking..

Seems like today is the day to drag. I was in bed until after 1. Oops. I was up till after 5 though. My cruise anticipation is getting the better of me.

Just got handed a big project next week though before I go on vacation. Ugh.

I was surprised by them, totally. I am not a nut person. Well, maybe a nut, but not in the definition of one who enjoys nuts. A coworker made me try one and I was hooked.

That's great, because I plan to make chili tomorrow. Come on over. I make a big pot and freeze most of it, so there'll be plenty no matter how many of you show up.

I made deer chili earlier in the week. We had some more today. It was good.

Roscoe

I haven't had chili in a while. It was somewhat pretty today, although cool. I went over and helped Bro Wilson work on Fred a bit, then came back home. I've been so tired lately....I sat down and studied a bit, then dozed off. Got up and fixed- I hope- a slight leak on the thermostat housing of the 'vette. Just one more little thing done.

Went to church, tormented the flock. Had approximately 10 of the flock out with various illnesses. All illnesses SOUNDED authentic- I didn't hear of any that were diagnosed with Acute Hatred-itis Pastoral. Of course that doesn't mean they aren't sick of me, but at least they were kind enough to claim pneumonia. :laughhard:

Monday is stalking me, and I am in the pre-dread stage of the week. I should be rich. :pound:
