If I was looking for a poem...

My mom heard a poem when she was little, and all she can remember is this line:
"If it's wee, if it's small, if it's hardly there at all... I like it."

I've tried for years (literally) to find it for her, but with no success.

did you try quotes.com?  or poetry.com?  or google scholar?  i have a fabulous bartlett's book of quotes, but without the author i'm not sure i could find it.  i'll try to remember to check later when i have a minute.

You're performing your Google search with quote marks, right?

Have you also tried searching Google for portions of the quote?  This would be just in case her memory of the line doesn't have the exact wording quite right.

Have you ever studied psychology?  Memories are suprisingly fickle and unreliable things.  Much more so than most want to believe.

Yes, and yes. I've tried about every way I could think of.

I tried several poetry search sites, but I'll give another try to the three sites you listed.

With the number of people who use Dear Abby as a search engine, I didn't figure I had a chance. lol
