OK...PF...you are posting pictures on FB.  And I was seriously confused.

My question and thought process were:

1) Why is Burrito getting married again?

2) Why is Sunlight in the wedding party?

3) Maybe Burrito is performing the ceremony?

4) No, that's not Burrito but he has Burritos name...

5) Wait a second...is Burrito a JR, and Little Burrito a 3rd?

6) That makes more sense...

So close but so so far! Lol. It's the J.R. that is getting married again, the III is who I am married to, and the IV is my baby.

:hi:
Poor QuadBob. He's got THREE previous generations to live down..lol

In sharing, I made the mistake last night of stopping by a friend who owns a dumptruck's house, with the intention of hiring him to bring me a load of fill dirt. TWO hours later I got to leave. I STILL didn't get to buy my fill dirt, since his truck is broken, but the man could talk the horns off'n a billy goat..

Now I'm considering dinner, taking a online training on medical marijuana, and looking forward to the end of the day...

My English ain't so gooder today. My brain is overtaxed.
But FYI, a dump truck's house would be a large metal shop building.
Having said that, I stopped by a friend's house. Said friend ALSO owes a dumptruck. Now, are you happy, Weird Cat?!? :pound:

And yes, Nelle, I'm sure SOMEONE (mini) would run with the medical marijuana training. Unfortunantly they did NOT offer samples...:sadbounce:

My spelling wasn't the problem. My grammar was.  :shakeno:

We have a marijuana growing facility that has been built in our area here. It's called "Wellness Pharms." LOL. Our company was requested to come look at giving them a price for some additional work. I have endlessly teased our estimator. He's UPC, a former PK/MK, and still very involved in his church. He came back smelling like the facility for sure. Entertaining life here at an electrical contractor company! LOL..

@Work. So very sleepy lately. I haven't been able to get 100% well from my last episode of sickness. It feels like my head, my nose, my throat, and my eyes, keep taking turns causing me problems. Really hoping I can kick this before we leave on our vacation.

Look, you don't know the half of it. Grandma said the last pot of chili I made had too many beans, so she didn't eat much. (Gives her gas.) Last night I ate chili for supper and this morning I ate chili for breakfast. And for lunch yesterday I ate a can of blackeyed peas.

Yeah, this thread title is an unpleasant reminder for me.

:hi: Starting my morning with a healthy serving of Blues and a side of Diet green tea. Someone is liable to get whipped today, because I'd rather have a Sonic Route 44 Dr Pepper with real cream and cherry. Gonna probably be a busy day today.

I'm drinking water and eating iced animal crackers/cookies. I had to share my pink ones with our office kid, so I'm eating the white ones, haha.

I have also had one single Reese cup and two small chicken strips dipped in sweet & sour sauce. Odd combo, but I was hungry!

ONE WEEK and a couple of days!! WOOO.

I have so much to do between now and then that I should stop counting it down, haha.

Revival services this weekend with Bro. Frank Jordan. Love hearing him preach.

Been running a fever all week I'm scheduled to get some teeth pulled but they won't if I have a fever. My torso/ribs/back on the right side still feels like a bus sideswiped. I need a trip out west once my body recovers... And my wallet!

Shew. Mowed the yard, finished my gate on the fence, planted several new flowers, and rebuilt the yard decoration that I had with our family name on it. I'd made it out of a pallet, and didn't really love the look. When I finished with my gate, I realized I had a couple of 3 1/2 foot long section of picket fence left over- JUST like what I had originally envisioned. I've now got the letters painted a nice teal blue and the fence section painted white. When it dries I'll re-install it.
Been a busy day. Tomorrow will be NOTHING but church. I ain't lifting a finger...

The yard has needed mowing for a good week or so. But the grass has been too wet to mow for about a week or so.  Feh.

In other news, you know the worst part about Sunday? There is no chance in the world that the thing you have been waiting for will come in the mail today.

The ''Next Day'' contracts they signed to deliver for Amazon Prime, Medical Suppliers, and the stuff that UPS and FedEx deliver to the post office and USPS does their local delivery. It's been a bit of a bad relationship so far in every case.

So after adding in the music I got from all these records I found at the flea market... my music collection is now more than 10,000 tracks. And it's all songs I know and like.

On the other hand, you can get a computer off-the-shelf at Walmart that has more RAM than my whole music collection (in .ogg format) takes up. I can't figure out if that means computers are super-fast these days, or I need to get more music.

Yes I concur, super hot in Texas. I spent Saturday with 2 girlfriends in the pool at Mom's. (Mom and Dad were traveling back from Amarillo). It was the best Saturday. Then church Sunday. meh.

It's been breezy and around 77 degrees this morning though. Threatening rain again, but so far so good. It stormed hard last night though.

Yep. In our area, my husband's office doesn't deliver on Sundays, but about 15 minutes up the road in Carbondale, they do. I'm glad his station didn't meet their criteria for it. That's ONE day we KNOW he will be off every week, but in the hubs they have to take a random other day off instead.

@Work. Day 1 of 5 until vacation! I have so much to do that I should not even be over here typing, haha. I also only have one Reese cup left of my two.

I waited too late to eat lunch.  :cry2:  We have our insurance auditor coming in about 20 minutes. Hopefully he won't stay the full 2 hours he has allotted for himself though. I can at least snack while he's here, since HOPEFULLY he's going to be quick and quiet, like our old auditor. :)

Day 2 of 5 until vacation!! I'm apparently going to freeze to death on the vacation once we finally get up in Montana/Wyoming, haha. It's not getting above 75 for most of the time we are there. It'll be WONDERFUL to wear my favorite clothing item (a cardigan) with my regular clothes! LOL. It's like a security blanket for me.

I've been steadily marking things off my to do list, but I unfortunately keep finding things to add. I'll eventually get done, or I'll leave for vacation. For my coworkers' sakes, I hope I get my list mostly done before that happens, hahaha.

My brother & SIL are leaving today for their Alaskan cruise. I can't decide if I do or don't want to ever do that. I'm sure it would be BEAUTIFUL, but I'm honestly still a little nervous about being in so much water on a boat. lol.. Same goes for flying above so much water. It just.. unnerves me.

I hate the cold. Like if you've ever known anyone with S.A.D. (seasonal affective disorder lol) take how they are and times it by ten and that's me in winter.

BUT...I would do an Alaskan cruise I think. But only with a bear to cuddle with.
I want more than anything to see a whale.

I feel like there are whale watching tours of the coast of California or Florida as well. I'd love to see dolphins! I'd more like to see penguins in real life (non-zoo), but I don't want to go to Antarctica, haha.

Heck,if I wanna see a whale, I look in the mirror lately. I've gotta lose weight. :pound:
And I've been busy today. Had my interview for Agent promotion today- I is now an Agent man..
And I ruined a good pair of dress pants today.
On the way to the interview, I think "I want to make sure my breath isn't offensive, so I'll stop and get some chewing gum."
I pulled into a little convenience store that I used to stop at regularly. It appeared that someone had driven through fresh paint all over the parking lot. This should have been a clue. Must to my dismay, I discovered after getting out of the car, that these idiots had freshly painted the white parking lines- but had not blocked it off. The mess was not dry. You could track everywhere I went by the white foot prints, and some got on the hem of my dress pants, of which I do not have many. I was ticked.
On the bright side I managed to wear the wet paint off before I tracked it all over headquarters.

Well not much at "work". But I've unloaded the dishwasher, loaded it back up and ran it again, folded a load in the dryer, washed and dried my sheets and remade my bed, washing a load of towels now.

Went and got a Starbucks + a taco. Hmm what else.  :thumbsup2:

Best I can tell he is/was a preacher who is no longer in truth.
 But that's enough of that.
Morning, all. Back at work for Day Four of The Hostage Situation, aka work.
I had a triple axle dumptruck load of sandy loam topsoil delivered last night. Now to spread it where it should be and the septic problems should be a thing of the past. And this weekend, myself and a friend are headed westward to retrieve ole Sam the '52 and bring him back to God's country.

In local news, I saw my brother for the first time in a few years. I am depressed.

Back story: About a decade ago my brother moved down to Texas. He met a girl and they fell in love, but never married... and my brother and his girl live in the same house as the girl's ex. Ever since then my brother has avoided his family, because he believes we are judging him about this situation.

Last week my dad called and said my brother would be visiting him, and he said my brother mentioned it would be nice to see Grandma too. So yesterday Grandma and I drove up to the south edge of Kentucky and met Dad and Bro at a Cracker Barrel.

It was a nice visit. We talked about many things - shoes and phones and chocolate and music and all kinds of things - but my brother spent about half the time trying to argue with us that abortion and homosexuality were okay and the Bible is mostly allegory and parable, not literal records of what actually happened.

Remember the old apostolic chat? Remember the trolls that came through there? It was like listening to every troll line ever, but my brother believed everything that he was saying.

This is the brother that at one time was trying to convince me to go to church. Now he believes the Bible is nothing more than good advice and fairy tales. And all this started when he tried to justify what he wanted, but it wouldn't fit in the framework of what he believed, so he had to tear down everything he knew was right and rebuild it to fit what he wanted.

Did I mention I'm depressed?

Day 4 of 5 Recap - I worked a long day again this week. Got a lot done.

Day 5 of 5!! - I'm @work. I'm not feeling well, but it seems like as the day progresses, it is getting less intense, so I'm hopeful that I will feel fine soon! Hoping it was just the Panda Express that did not settle well. Could also be stress/nerves since I still have some work to get done (for my own sanity) before I leave work today. I'd love to be at home taking a nap tho....

MJJ - Could you take one for me please? lol.. I think that'll make me feel better.

It's SOOO cold in the office the past two days. I had a thick sweater on top of my normal cardigan that I wore, PLUS I ended up turning my space heater on so that my legs & feet would thaw. Since I don't feel well today, I am trying not to turn my heater on, but I already have the sweater on again. I was at the typewriter earlier that's by the window.. so I put my feet in the window sill (it goes to the floor) so my toes could feel some warmth from the sun. It helped some. :)

Shew. It be warm today. Of course, that could be because a large chunk of my day was spent in an un air conditioned 67 year old truck, puttering 125 miles home. Ah, but it was grand. Sam made it home with no issues of his own- we miscalculated his gas mileage and ran him dry at a stop light, so we had to tug him to the gas pumps at the station next door.

It's without a doubt the furthest Sam has been driven in 30 years, probably longer. But, he's home now. And Mini got some cool shots of Sam entering the Promised Land, aka, Arkansas under his own power. A friend and I took his big diesel and trailer to haul Sam home, but decided we'd drive him a bit and see how he did, thinking if we needed to, we could load him up on the side of the road. Never needed to. Coulda saved me $50 and drove Rusty over without the trailer, but better safe than sorry. I'm happy.

I feel like I'm behind on current events.

Sam was Mini's, but Bobby bought Sam and just now drove him home? And Sam's gas gauge doesn't work? Is all that right or did I miss part?

Yes.

I bought Sam in 2011.  Roscoe and I have a ironclad agreement.  If we sell Sam, it has to be to the other one.  I have completely refused to ever sell him...until this year.

In January I stopped to look at a old truck that I have been eyeballing for years.  Me and the owner hit it off.  Before I left that day he offered it to me at a price that was way less than what I expected, and in the range where I couldn't say no.

I called Roscoe and we talked it over for a long time.  Sam is special.  But I could take the same amount of money the other truck was offered to me for, put it in Sam and never get close to the level of restoration the other truck had.

So Sam went back to Roscoe (temporarily, albeit for several years I'm guessing).

Roscoe came over yesterday and drove Sam back home.

For the first couple of years I owned Sam I probably put 20 miles a week on him, back roads mainly.  Since moving over here he's only gotten maybe 300 miles on him in 5 years.  Mainly cause he has no brake lights or turn signals.

Roscoe drove Sam ~130 miles yesterday.

Roscoe put a few gallons of gas in Sam, drove about 100 miles and realized he had sucked every bit of gas down his gullet.  A few gallons more, and he made it "home".

Few if any of the gauges work in Sam.  He's a fun challenge to drive.

Roscoe came over yesterday and drove Sam back home. Not sure "drive" is correct. Herded, perhaps. Prayed him home. But he did it! and did it well..

Roscoe put a few gallons of gas in Sam, drove about 100 miles and realized he had sucked every bit of gas down his gullet.  A few gallons more, and he made it "home". It is claimed that 235 equipped trucks can get up to 16 mpg. Beside I can tell, Sam got closer to 10. But I WAS pushing him- old boy ran 50-55 mph the whole way, and he hasn't been driven that far at one time in over 30 years I know.

Few if any of the gauges work in Sam.  He's a fun challenge to drive.

I'm probably going to anger some of Sam's fans. He will eventually lose the "patina", aka rust look. I've already began collecting parts to repair him. He will still never be a show truck but will lose the flintstone floors and some of the challenges to drive, as I am going to swap transmissions (with another of the same type from a friend's stash), upgrade the rear end and adjust the brakes- and fix his exhaust leak, cause he is loud. LOL

I wish they required companies to list ''spices'' as a real list of all the spices instead of just one word. I like pimento cheese, so we went to get my favorite kind but they were out. I bought one I'd seen ads for it and heard it was good. One bight and my throat was closing. I took several Bynedril before it fully closed my throat. That was Sunday afternoon my throat is still swollen, burns is sore and strangely feels like I have hives in my throat.

Thankfully didn't need my epi-pen or a hospital trip. GOD is better to me than I deserve!

What exactly is it you are allergic to?

Wait, my mother would hate that preposition at the end of a sentence... Here's the awkward-but-grammatically-correct version.

What is it exactly to which you are allergic?

Also what was it doing in pimento cheese? I just use velveeta, mayo, pimento, potato masher.

Doubtful. But it appears that all they did was drop cow pies on the lawn, so no harm. Finally at home from the day. Ready for the weekend and I'm just 2 days in...

Cow pies would be the MOST of my worries. Grass already grows too fast around here. Last thing it needs is fertilizer.

If you want warm locations, come to my AZ. It normally runs 78 to 85 according to what time of day you arrive. It's made a few of us sick on multiple occasions but there is nothing corporate in Memphis will do about it because they have deemed 74-76 appropriate for our units. Our regional manager is angry.

Papaw had his 3rd heart attack last week. As he already as a pacemaker and they've bypassed and stented just about everywhere in him there wasn't much they could do. He's 81, diabetic and sustains himself on cigarettes and walmart brand little debbie cakes.

Sorry for the double post, but I do know who Matt Maddix is. He was a big to do back around 2006-2008. He came to my former church either before or after NAYC in 07. I wasn't a fan. He was shoving youth around during the altar call. He pushed me into a pole to get to another girl to pray for. He stepped on a few people too. I thought he was rude and way over hyped. I hadn't heard his name in forever and had kinda forgotten about him.

In local news, my 25-ish year old microwave died. May it rust in peace. So a new one must be bought. This new one really, really, REALLY wants you to know the food is done. When it is finished cooking it sits there and gives three long beeps every 20 seconds or so, and will not shut up until you open the door. It keeps sounding off every 20 seconds for as long as I have had the patience to test it.

If I were evil... I'm not saying I will do this, in fact I would never do this, but IF I were evil... I would take the microwave upstairs where Grandma can't get to it, set it cooking for five seconds, then go to w*rk and let it beep all day. Grandma is 87 years old, she can't climb stairs no more.

Hope everyone had a grand 4th! I wish I'd taken vacation tomorrow. LOL. I spent money I didn't have. Seriously. Had to buy another lawn mower. The "high quality" BadBoy completed quit at only four years old, despite being garaged and babied. Yes, I am ticked. I think I'm gonna have Cody rebuild it, and sell that thing. On the bright side, on the way home, Chey and I stopped and saw old Mr Sam, who I originally bought the '52 from. He's 92 years old, going blind, but could remember the old truck. I'm going back over there Saturday and get a pic of Mr Sam with the old truck, God willing.
Now, back to work tomorrow. Hopefully I'll get a bit of sleep, if the neighbor will run out of fireworks soon.

Musing on how times change...

Remember when people whined and complained about leftovers? Nobody wanted leftovers, everybody wanted something fresh. There were even jokes about it, like the man who refused to say grace over a meal because "Show me one thing I haven't blessed three times and I'll bless it." Also the guy who scraped his plate into the trash at the end of a meal and muttered, "And this time, STAY there."

These days they call it "meal prep" and they take pride in their foresight in making up meals in advance. I dunno, still seems like leftovers to me... Not that I mind! I love me some leftovers.

Sorry, I've been busy and haven't had a chance to post. Had friends from Oklahoma come over and we enjoyed a bit of company with them. They are apostolic as well and know Mini, so we made it a point to text and torment them with food pics. It was a sudden decision trip, so we had not taken off.. So after court yesterday, I received approval from my boss to take off today. I did, thinking I would surprise them and spend the day hiking with them, since they had talked of hiking on Petit Jean.
I'm the one that was surprised. They decided to go to North Arkansas to Gentry today. LOL. I didn't tell them I had taken off. I enjoyed the day by going and getting Sam 100% Arkansas legal, then took it by the 92 year old former owners house. Made his day to see the old truck and mine too, to get to talk with him. Then I came home and mowed the yard. Should be doing some more clean up stuff, but I'm too lazy to right now.

All natural peanut butter - ground peanuts and salt - semi-solid.
Honey - semi-liquid.
Peanut butter + honey - thicker than hard red clay.

If you ever discover the answer to that question, please share.

Speaking of sharing- guys, I am more blessed of God than I can imagine. Remember the recent blessing I spoke of, in the form of a amazing Performance Eval that made me a nice bonus? Remember the "Secret Agent man" jokes and the classes and test I had to take? The one that, as a maximum compensation employee meant I was doing it for free and would not result in a raise?
Well...apparently, the promotion to Agent bumped me up a pay grade. This put me under the maximum compensation level for the new pay grade.  Which meant that I would be eligible for a pay raise. Long story short- I found out today that I have been given a nice raise of $1.56 an hour!

Bro Wilson had just taught Bro Thrasher's "Law of the Harvest" message....And wow, God's blessings are there.

Well it depends on the peanut butter you use too. If you use peanut butter that already has sugar, mono- and diglycerides, etc. then it won't do it because the peanuts already have stuff mixed in with them.

Peanut butter that is only peanuts and salt gets stiffer when you mix jelly in it too. And I still don't know why.

You know how I said my sister was moving to SC? Well her boyfriend offered Brandon a job. A much better paying job. So guess who else is moving to SC? If your guess is us, you would be right.

Here is to downsizing, packing, securing housing, and moving.......in the next 2-3 weeks.
It would be Tennessee.  I didn't  realize it was that close to Virginia....
And congratulations on the move. May it be everything you need it to be.
Morning,  all. Back in class on a day when coffee  is all that has me going. And they have the ac set at 65 degrees.  I brought a jacket.

We would have loved to meet ya. But I understand. I hope Chey enjoys it- It's awful far for a weekend, but it is what she wants.

Also- Prayers please, for a coworker's daughter. She just turned 15- after church on Sunday she complained of feeling ill. They took her to the e.r. and while in the waiting room she passed out and her heart stopped. They suspect a bacterial infection of the heart, and she is now on life support and dialysis, and at this point the prognosis is bad. The coworker and I have not always seen eye to eye, but he is a good father and devoted, and apparently, understandably, this has gutted him. Please pray for Gracie..

Nothing  anyone can say will make things okay.

True. So true. Especially when, even as a life long believer, you look at an incident like that and honestly get a bit angry at it all. I look at the people that I know who are hellbent, for lack of a better word, (and I hope that doesn't offend anyone) on destroying their life with drugs and the like.
This sweet girl had it all going for her. Beautiful, a good student, a good family, a future so bright it hurt to look at it-and she went from vibrant and active to dead in three days.
Just two weeks ago, she and her father took a Dad and Gracie road trip. They went to a formal dinner, to a theater and a concert, and just generally enjoyed each others company. Her Dad was so happy to tell about their plans before going and spoke of how much fun they had when he returned.
I am thankful that he had that time with her- and gutted that he lost his baby.
Guys, I have no words to say to him. No idea what to say or do. All I can do is pray for them.
That, and hold my little girl tighter, and treasure every moment. Because one never knows, no matter the age or health, how much time you have with those that mean everything to you.

That sounds about right. In this area you can get a plate of amazing fried fish if you tell them "cook it like you cook it for (my uncle's name.") This password works anywhere within a 50 mile radius, because my uncle has been to all of them and is on familiar terms with all the cooks and waiters at each one.

It's a couple degrees cooler today, but not so as one could tell. Lou got on to me for driving the Jeep, as it doesn't have air. I pointed out to her that while we currently have four licensed and drivable vehicles, only one- her Lincoln- has air. She has told me recently that I need to put air in Rusty, even if I have to sell some of her Walmart stock to do it. But that stuff has really gained in value this year, going from low $80s per share to around $115, and I really hate to kill the goose laying gold eggs, even if it would be a nice dinner. We don't have a lot of stock, but what we have is becoming a nice emergency fund, and no a/c really isn't an emergency in the context of a vehicle.
So I'm working a bit, then coming in to the 73 degree house and cooling off, then working a bit more.

If you installed air conditioning in a vehicle of that vintage, would it not compromise the antique integrity of such a vehicle?

If the vehicle in question was a low production, bone stock, specialty car that scored high points on a show field, yes. But Rusty is majorly modified. He looks original, but is on an s10 frame, modern running gear, and his rear fenders are actually from the next bodystyle. A purist who only wants stock vehicles would clutch his chest and die over the way Rusty has been done.  People like me, though, love and appreciate him. As a result, there's pretty much nothing I can do that will mess him up, as long as I keep him looking somewhat stock outside.
 He'll get a/c someday.
Now Sam- I probably won't do that to him. He's gonna be bad close to stock. And in regards to that, I bought a new sander/polisher at Harbor Freight today. Lawd have mercy. Twenty minutes and that sucker shucked off ALL the old paint and rust from Sam's extra front fender I'm working on. A few minutes work and it'll be ready for primer and then paint. Little by little, I'll have the old guy looking right....

You with your truck sound like me in the kitchen. Some purists would clutch their chests and faint in horror over the kitchen rules I break, but I make some pretty good things. They will never appear on a restaurant menu, but everybody who tries them says they are good.

So yeah I can understand customizing your truck for your comfort.

@Work waiting on the husband to get done delivering mail so we can go pick up his work car and bring it home, so I won't have to get up at 5:30 again tomorrow morning to carpool. Thankful the cost to get rid of its issues were only $15.32, but also a little annoying to have just had the car in the shop to prevent these types of things while we were on vacation, haha. Quick balance of the tires, a leak check, and a sensor cleared - and the Elantra is running smooth again I hope! :)

We travel to South Carolina tomorrow for a number of reason. Neither of us really want to move but everything is pointing us that way. Brandon meets the GM, has a physical, etc tomorrow. I have a meet and tour Thursday morning. We are going in with a lists of things that HAVE to happen for us to move. Only with those will we actually do this.

Brandon was hoping for a counter offer from AZ but they have completely ignored him and essentially let him know they don't appreciate all he does for them. He has applied for A LOT of positions here as well.

Pray for us. We should know answers by tomorrow evening.

Upon further digging into the house selling debacle, the landlord is concerned he "can't do what all he used to" as far as upkeep with the houses goes. Brandon assured him [if we are here] we are more than willing to put in any work on our house and to assist him with most anything in his house. For the time being, he has decided to hold off on selling.

The sigh of relief I had today could probably be heard states away.

If you HAD stopped by, your timing would have been wonderful. Last night was our church homecoming dinner. I took a few seconds of video of the food table, then another video of the dessert table, because I have some chat friends up north who just turn the most beautiful shade of envy-emerald when it comes to good old suthern cookin. I can't post them here but I will forward them to you on your phone.

Highlights include a homemade chocolate cheesecake, corn bread muffins, three kinds of potato casserole (NOT hash brown casserole... real potatoes cut up and made into a casserole with sour cream and everything) four or five different kinds of baked beans, most of them with some kind of meat in there, two different kinds of chicken and dressing (both tasty) and a lot of other stuff.

I brought chocolate chip cookies, the recipe with oat flour. They were delicious, but there was so much food in general that I had a lot of cookies left over. Unfortunately these cookies are like crack. You can't eat just one. You can't eat just twenty. I seem to be having chocolate chip cookies for breakfast, by default, because I can't stop eating them.

I'm calling it oatmeal though. It has oat flour and brown sugar, and people often put brown sugar in oatmeal... Yeah, I'm having oatmeal with chocolate chips for breakfast.

Lord, what a drive. Just got home- 1040pm here. Left Rogersville this morning around 1145 their time, so close to 13 hours. I did that to myself- trying to avoid road construction, we slipped off the interstate a couple of times, one of which turned into a 40 mile ,hour long detour. Had I stayed on the interstate the construction delay woulda been 20 minutes. But I did get to see a beautiful part of Tennessee.

Taco and the Clown ran over and met us at Rogersville. It was great to see them. Chey got autographs from "Enos" and "Luke Duke", and I got to meet them too, which truthfully made me happy too, since I've been a fan for 30+ years.
We can't afford another trip like that for a while though. LOL Glad I took tomorrow off.

I'm here in southwest Tennessee where nothing ever changes much. So, nothing to report. Boring for forum participation, but I like it here.

The struggle is real... Last night we had Community Groups, where instead of meeting at church we meet in small groups at people's houses. We only do this on fifth Wednesdays, so not very often. When we started nobody mentioned food - the stated purpose was Bible study. But of course we all wound up bringing food and having supper and a good long mealtime chat before we got down to talking about the Bible.

Sister Martha made some lemon icebox cake. It's kind of like if you make lemon icebox pie filling and poured it over a layer of crumbled up cake bits, and made about three layers like that, all in a big punch bowl, and it's very good. She kept trying to get me to take the leftovers home, because she knows I like it, but... I'm still recovering from all those leftover chocolate chip cookies I had to deal with from the church dinner last Saturday so I had to regretfully decline. But I sure did want to.

I had a busy day. Went to Hot Springs to drop an offender off at treatment, then to Searcy, an hour and a half further away, to drop off another. Stopped for ribs at my favorite rib place, then back to work, where I bailed an hour early, dug Rusty out of the shop and drove 3 hours round trip to pick up a screaming deal of a rear end for Sam. It was a good day- but it's 1130 now, and I'm not tired, and I have to work tomorrow...

Last Saturday we had the homecoming dinner. Last Tuesday I finished the last of the leftover cookies.

All day yesterday I felt like I could seriously hurt somebody for a good cookie...

Thank God it was Friday. Spent all day on the road. Just as I was walking out, I got a call that I had to do a transport. That meant I had to work an hour and a half late, on a Friday. Did not make me happy.
And I could use a cookie.
I just realized, I fasted today. LOL. Nary a bite since last night... so busy I didn't notice it.

Morning all. Early service today, I honestly thought about skipping. It's going to be a continuation of VBS...I'll go but probably won't stick around through it all.  Yesterday was a comedy of errors for my friend. I was supposed to go over and help him remove some parts from an old truck I return for the transmission I need for Sam. I got there, we drove his truck trailer and tractor about 3 miles to where the truck was stored. Unloaded the tractor and notice the trailer had a low tire, so we took it back to his house. Got there to find a shredded tire. Went to replace it, took 2 hours at Walmart. Got back, changed it, went to pull out- and my friend hit a tree with the trailer on the way out, which destroyed a rim and tire and bent the fender.  We spent the next 4 hours trying to find a wheel that fit. Needless to say almost nothing we planned to do got done, and I wasted my Saturday.

:hi: Mini- You is tarred. You is bald. But I'd think you fit the profile of a Turkey Buzzard better than a Bald Eagle.

Dear Lord, today has been unkind. I've spent all morning repeating to myself that stupid people and their problems are how I am employed. But being told by a drug addict that I was taking him to jail because he was a veteran who had served in Iraq when he was 19 was a bit more than I wanted to hear today. Never mind his multiple issues, apparently I hate veterans.  :noo:

Title: Re: We Contemplate on Beans in Sharing 513

I would've had to make a remark about how I hate when someone has a chance at being someone worthy of respect and honor, and they allow their lives to come to this... being hauled away to jail for a CHOICE *they* made. Husband is a veteran and I honestly always struggle between empathy/sympathy and cold hard truth. Some of them legit have issues due to their service and have a hard time getting back to civilian life, but there are tons of stories where they have overcome those struggles and been respectable members of society, so I know it can be done!

@work. Accidentally drank out of the wrong cup from Sonic this morning. Coke Zero with Splenda Blackberry flavoring is actually kinda tasty. I'm back to drinking my regular coke now though, haha. It's not as tasty now.. BUT I'm also eating some french toast sticks. I wish Sonic would bring back their pancake on a stick so I can get one there sometimes. I can handle the frozen ones that I have to cook myself, but I think they taste better out of their grease, hahahaha.

Lou bought us some of those corn dog looking sausage pancake on a stick thingies. Boy, that's a surprise when you've got mustard q'ued up for a delicious corndog and didn't read the packaging... :ugly:

And yeah, I understand some veterans DO have issues and generally bend over backward to work with the VA, ect to get them help. My coworker is a 20+ year vet who was blown up in the Middle East. It's hard for him to talk about, but he comes in every day, does his job, doesn't do illegal substances and has been one of the strongest men I know. He has earned my respect even with our difficulties.
But some just won't take help, and when the court tells me I HAVE to make them comply- well, I HAVE to do what the court says. This one annoys me because he refuses in any way to take responsibility. Steal a car? Iraq's fault. Shoot heroin? Why, Iraq did it. Fail to miss appointment? Iraq. Oh, I didn't pay my fines? Iraq kept me from it. Strangely, Iraq is NOT keeping him from illegal activities.....

I'm working late shift today- until 7pm. Made some awesome broiled chicken breast last night. Probably negated any health benefit by having it wrapped in bacon. :laughhard:

Took the day off yesterday after traveling home most of Sunday and crying most of both flights. Leaving my family in Indy was hard. :sadbounce:

Now I'm attempting to work but my stomach is revolting so not doing much at the moment.

I picked seven humongous cucumbers from my garden this morning. On top of the five mom picked last week while I was Indy. I actually hate cucumbers lol so I'm gonna attempt making pickles. Any tips Sandra?

Actually, I've never made pickles. Seth would be the one to ask.
Title: Re: We Contemplate on Beans in Sharing 513
Post by: Lynx on August 06, 2019, 10:26:04 PM
I've made pickles before. There is no right or wrong way to make pickles. It's all a matter of taste. The only thing I can say that is helpful is, make the pickle juice just slightly stronger than you want the pickles to taste. As they pickle, the pickle juice will pull water out of the pickles, diluting the overall strength (sour or sweet) of the pickle juice, and thus the pickles.

Oh, and if you boil the pickle juice and pour it over the pickles hot, they will pickle a lot faster than if you start everything out cold. But don't get it hot enough to cook the cukes.

I still think it's a waste of good cucumbers that could be sliced, breaded and fried...

Yeah, they do that here too. I still think it's a waste. Fried pickles are nowhere near what fried un-pickled cucumbers are. Too chewy. It can have a nice flavor though, depending on which way it was pickled.

Urgh. Up again. Tarred. Supposed to be court day today but I don't think I have any cases on the docket. Manage to snag me a piece of buttermilk pie on the way out the door. Chey has got where she makes them for me. As usual, she made two last night, and as usual, myself, Lou, her, and her two friends demolished one last night. Isaac- yes, I'm prejudiced but- she's every little country boy's dream. Beautiful, can shoot a gun and loves them, loves mudding and Jeeps, adores fast cars (she is currently plotting to get me to buy her a late 70's early 80's C3 Corvette), and is becoming quite the little cook. And she has a wicked sense of humor, to go with a sweet nature, and to top it off, a love for God.
I'll be very cautious about what little boy I let come around, for sure.....

And morning all. At work. Plodding ever closer to Friday, glory be. I have steadfastly refused to make plans for anything this weekend.

@Work. Today's the hubby's birthday. I had to put his gifts in his computer chair last night b/c I can't wake up before he does to put them out. 6am on Fridays is rough enough without seeing 5am instead, haha.

I'm going to have to focus on house cleaning this weekend. It's high time some of that mess gets ouuuuut of there. I'm going to sit down at lunch and make a list. I always feel better when I can cross things off as they get done, so I feel some sort of accomplishment when I sit down that evening and look around... and still looks like nothing was done ahahaha.

Sooo....you don't love your husband enough to get up early on his special day... :biglaugh:

Shame. :nono:

And in the cleaning department- I have GOT to do some decluttering/hauling to the dump/scrapyard myself. It's amazing how much junk one can accumulate without trying to. Out side I have car parts, spare wood from projects that I might need someday, and out and out junk that needs to go.
Inside, we have boxes that we might need, old mail that should be burned but I fear irrationally I'll need it if I do- obviously I won't need 5 year old mail, but convince my brain of that- and tons of stuff that we thought was needed.
And we can't seem to stop. Lou brought home two small galvanized metal tubs, resembling miniature horse watering troughs, two weeks ago- normally $15 at Walmart, they had clearanced them for $3 each- simply because "we might use them for flowers or something." Then she brought a wooden barrel, like a miniature whiskey barrel, home for the same purpose. We don't need them. We both know it. And we both were delighted to get them, and set them in my ham room/library to gather dust.
And this weekend is "Bargains Galore on 64" , a multi mile yard sale through the state. Yes- I am going to spend my birthday tomorrow in overalls and a 73 year old truck, trying to find more junk to bring home.  :pound:

I did wake up and meet him at the coffee maker to tell him Happy Birthday, give him a hug, and wished him a good day! I think we are going to celebrate tomorrow night with dinner or an outing since he's going to have to work so late today. Besides.. he got to eat some of his snacks last night instead of having to wait until this morning or evening! I may or may not have helped eat one of his snacks. Apparently it was ME that liked those so much.. he just sorta liked them. More for me! LOL..

Just ate lunch. Leftover grilled pork chops! I need a nap.. but instead of that, I have 3 more hours of work. At least we are on the downhill slope!

Bobby you're thinking this from the wrong end. You have junk. There is a multi-mile yard sale. Take junk to yard sale! Park the truck by your booth or table or whatever. More people would see it there than if you were cruising.

Daughter wanted to drive the Jeep to school again!  Apparently, a heat index of nearly 120 degrees didn't slow her down much.  But alas, there is a chance of rain.  Knowing her, she still may drive it.  I must admit, I'm a little proud of her.  17, driving a manual transmission.  Not many kids can do that.

I'm working my little fingers to the bone. Received an email this morning that I particularly did not desire. They recently put my agency "under the umbrella" of corrections and named a Secretary of Corrections. This person in second in command in the state, only answering to the governor. I was informed today that she is coming down and going out in the field on Home visits with officers. I was further informed that I am the officer she will be with in our office. I told my supervisor I was flattered. Concerned. And not sure what I had done to make my supervisor that mad at me.

And  lands, it is hot outside today. Fortunately I am working inside until 7 pm...

Title: Re: We Contemplate on Beans in Sharing 513
Post by: Roscoe on August 15, 2019, 03:56:55 AM
Yeah, but I already have a ton of time between comp, birthday and vacation, to say nothing of sick time. I'll hit the max on vacation time by the end of the year (240 hours) plus I've got around 700 hours of sick time. I try to burn the comp an hour or two at a time, but it adds up. For instance, tonight was 2 hours of court time (3 if I hit the for time and a half), and they are saying tomorrow we may be as late as 8pm doing sex offender roundups. If so, I'll have a day's worth to take off just for those two days- and that's before I spend 3 hours on the range Saturday.

Guys (and I include the gals in that), it be HOT outside. I got up at 7 this morning, actually closer to 6, and was on the range before 9. Got done there around 11:15, concluding that one of the shooters will be fine, one will do okay when she stops being scared of the gun, and one that I don't know how to fix.  Bless her heart.

I then came home, weedeated and mowed the yard and did general clean up. Ran to Russellville to buy a new "Come -along" - a hand powered winch that I had never heard called anything else until I attempted to buy one at Harbor Freight, where I got looked at like I had two heads until another old fossil like me showed me where they were.
 He knew what they were.

I also got to stop by a house where a really nice "Sam" truck stays, and met its owner. Quickly made a new friend, as he is a retired Police Chief and a car guy....just 7 miles or so from me.

I then came home, moved Sam's new rear end from Rusty's bed to Sam's bed, and surrendered to the heat, coming in to the air conditioning. I do believe, the older I get the lower my heat tolerance is. I feel that Rusty will have air conditioning next year....

So does your dislike of mexican food lead to gastrointestinal discomfort, or does the impending indigestion cause you to not like tex-mex? Which came first, the chicken or the egg?

Also, does homemade mexican food cause the same problems, or is it only food from mexican restaurants?

Aside from being nosy, I have no real reason for asking.

I am at work early today.  Trying to make up for lost time this week.

Had to take Gracie to the vet yesterday.  For all her bravery, she saw that door swing open at the office, threw it in reverse, and was getting some gone!

She spent most of her time either sitting in our lap or under my legs.  "Brave" dog...but the doc told us what we expected, an ear infection and some skin rash.  But he did tell us how to cure it.

Today I have to go to a funeral.

Part of me wants to ask God why he takes good people.  Part of me wants to curl up in a hole and hide from the world.

Isaac- Mexican/Tex-Mex food causes me much anguish and a general closeness with the water closet. I tell folks that I apparently had kin that fought at the Alamo, and the Mexicans are still getting revenge. Doesn't seem to matter if it is chain or homemade...
It's a shame, I actually like the taste of some of it. But it's not worth the agony.

Mini- I hate that. I've had many moments lately that I've look at good people, great people even, passing or struggling with health issues, then see one of the people I have on my caseload intent on throwing their good health away with drugs and who knows what. I think, "God, it isn't fair. Let someone who doesn't want to live a decent life battle cancer and heart disease, and let us keep these precious saints and rocks of God in their place"

But, life doesn't work like that. Guess that is what was meant in the Scriptures where it speaks of raining on the just and the unjust alike. We just have to accept it, and know that He has a reason and it is highly above our comprehension.

As far as the hiding from the world- two things- 1) That's pretty much a daily wish for me
and 2) As Sasquatch you ARE the World's Reigning Hide and Seek Champion...so apparently you are pretty good at that.

Some day, I'd like another German shepherd. Does she bother your chickens? The one we had was endowed with a high prey drive. He killed or chased cats and squirrels that got in our yard, so I don't think he would have been good around chickens.

She did a little.  Most of the time, we let her in the yard and she won't bother them.  My mom noticed that the only time she "chases" them is when someone is in the yard and she thinks she needs to protect the person.

Mom wants us to move back to Louisiana, but not ready to change VA's yet. Even tho these people have caused most of my grey hair. Smh.

Anyway, gonna try to be on here more often. <3

Good. I wish more of ya would wander back by. I kinda miss everyone.

I mowed the yard and tinkered with cleaning some stuff up tonight, just in time for it to come a literal flood while I was trying to put the windows and doors back on the Jeep.

Eating tuna patties for lunch. YUM! Literally one of my ultimate favorite foods.

Jeremy's coworker passed away Friday night from injuries from a four wheeler accident. They're all going to the visitation tonight as soon as they get done delivering mail. They're not being allowed to go to the funeral/burial tomorrow - since the mail is more important.  Jeremy's been understandably upset about this loss. They were good friends.

So - Please wear a helmet. Make sure your kids wear a helmet. This could've been avoided.

Labor Day Weekend is coming up, and I am very glad that I can finally go to my parent's house for the weekend WITH my husband. We won't get to leave until Saturday evening when he gets off, but I haven't had him as a travel partner down there in several months due to his work schedule. Thankful for national holidays!

Title: Re: We Contemplate on Beans in Sharing 513
Post by: Roscoe on August 30, 2019, 02:07:31 AM
So true. Apparently, it did,but it went right down to the wire. One of my newbies qualified this morning. The other one got half the job done this morning; then took until the very last target before she managed to barely qualify. As in, she had to shoot a 400 out of 500 possible points- and shot a 401. So at 4:28, two minutes before quitting time and me heading to Camden tomorrow, I was thrilled to hear that she had qualified.
Now, if I can just get through tomorrow. I totally NEED this 3 day weekend.

Title: Re: We Contemplate on Beans in Sharing 513

I thought about that, but lack of motivation was cited as the primary reason for failure.
Title: Re: We Contemplate on Beans in Sharing 513
Post by: Roscoe on August 30, 2019, 06:34:59 PM
Eh, I don't know if lack of motivation was truly the problem. Especially since this one  fought tooth and nail to get the job. She is an immigrant from Germany and a naturalized citizen. When she was told that our state's standards would not accept her German high school diploma, but would an American GED,  she went the NEXT DAY and took- and passed- her GED, scoring high enough that the local community college offered her scholarships.
I think what happened in this one's case was she had difficulty and then began to beat herself up over it. Got the monkey on her back, so to speak.
I am so ready to get the day over with....

:hi: Absolutely beautiful day. I've mowed the yard, and cleaned up some. Went and bought a rib roast after discovering I could cut my own ribeyes from it for $3.60 a lb as opposed to $7+ for the trimmed meat shop cut steaks. Relaxing now.

Sounds like a good deal, but I still say a roast is better in the Crock-Pot than sliced up for steaks. That's just a personal opinion though.

I've got several roasts in the freezer still. A "Pike's Peak" roast that is HUGE waiting for me to cook is just one of them. When we bought the quarter of a cow this year, it had some steaks, several roasts, and hamburger meat. We have enjoyed it so much I have ordered half a cow for next year, and more hamburger this year. Much better quality buying like that.

And in sharing- Lord I hope tomorrow is better than today was. Zero sleep last night- I've been battling anxiety over the last month or so, with zero reason why. As in nearly panic attack. I used to believe those things could be tossed aside, but Lord, I have a new understanding now. I'm cutting back on caffeine I know that.
Strange, there is NOTHING in my life that is askew either. ???
And then when I finally got to sleep last night/early this morning I wake up sick as a dog. Nausea, the whole nine yards. I've not gotten further than the recliner all day.

It does stick to skin like you wouldn't believe. But I thought it was dry all the way through...

Had to get a filling in my tooth yesterday but the crown hadn't arrived so I have to go back for that next week. That filling has made that tooth bite weird, so when I go back for the permanent crown on the other side, I'm going to have to ask if they'll file the tooth down or something if it hasn't gotten better. Isaac- I have two freezers. One for meat, one for everything else- bread, leftovers, pie crust, dough...

The meat freezer is bad close to full now. :-)

Was a long day. Went 3 hours south for that graduation, and wound up hob-knobbing with two of the assistant directors of our agency and several managers. Got called out by the agency's training instructor, who knows I detest limelight or public speaking, and who saw fit to introduce myself and another instructor for helping with training this class.  Sorry dog. She laughed and said I needed to get used to it...

One of my crazy probationers walked into her ex boyfriend's house, pulled a knife and stabbed him. No fight, he's laying on the couch asleep, and.....now he's stabbed. Now I'm locking up and heading home.

I hate dentist work. Like my anxiety is through the roof.
I reached out to a dentist my boss recommended. Cus I don't even have a dentist.

Spent all day in a boring class. Did manage to do something that met the family's approval- Chey has gotten kinda addicted to Crispitoes, like what you buy from a convenience store, and wants them pretty much every day. Problem is, at $1.79 each, that adds up.  My class was in a town with a Tyson plant and they have a direct from the factory company store open to the public.
We stopped by and I managed to buy a case (72 pieces) for $30 or about .48 each. I also grabbed me some of the GOOD chicken strips, and a box of Chicken Cordon Blue Bites. Total was less than $50. My freezers are stuffed now though....

Oh, and I have a new craving/desire/addiction. I NEED a Farmall Cub tractor. Grandpa had one when I was a kid, I was driving along and saw one, and wound up spending an hour and a half looking for them online. They are exactly what I need- belly mower, sickle mower,  blade and small plow attachments, made in the late 40's through early 60's and still really cheap. Like $1500 for a nice one with the attachments. I WILL have one...

My husband says belly mowers are a pain to work on. Hard to clean and change blades. Much easier to have one that hooks to the pto.
It's really nice to have a small tractor.

Crown tooth doesn't hurt, but the tooth I got the filling done is still killing me. They fixed the two other issues with it, but now everytime I eat - it hurts. Wish I knew if it was something that will get better or if there's something stabbing me, hahaha. I'm going to give it until tomorrow to see if maybe the trauma just needs time.

This is the first time I've had actual tooth pain of any kind of hurtful levels haha. I mean, other than when they're actually doing the work on them. I've had cavities off and on all my life, and I didn't particularly enjoy the crown prep, but the new perm crown feels awesome.

I had trouble with my breakfast & lunch food (they contained meat products) and I think it might just be a 'stuff getting stuck' issue. I ate harder cookies and some macaroni and cheese that I've been craving with no issues whatsoever. I already called and got an appointment for Thursday early evening - just in case this doesn't fix itself.

I'm SOOO glad they fixed the bite issue w/ the tooth height and the rough exterior on it that was cutting my tongue. That's been such a blessing today!! Almost normal. ;) (Peanut gallery shhh lol)

I need to get home this evening and jump into the fall cleaning. I need to formulate a plan to finally organize the kitchen shelving and also need to pace myself with our closets. I should've taken my vacation days I suppose and tried to get this all fixed up. I'm surely not the only one who finds themselves with the 'free' time to clean/organize, and I suddenly find the bed/couch/recliner is taking hostages, haha.

You sold your get-up-and-go to the chinese in exchange for deliciousness. Well... ersatz deliciousness anyway, of the MSG variety.

If you had tried sleeping in the back of a pickup truck here you would go back in the house about a quart low. Mosquitoes would have covered you up.

Not as bad here as Florida though. They are large and totally silent in Florida. The first sign that you are under attack is when your tan goes pale.

Hi Heather. Hi, Ashlee. Hi, everyone else. Late shift tonight. Think I inadvertently irritated a co worker. I got an out of state transfer assigned to me that had been mine until August. I jokingly emailed the supervisor, telling her she had fallen off of my list of favorite bosses. She  then moved the transfer to a coworker, I guess figuring I had dealt with the idiot long enough. I really did not intend that. I told the coworker that if she has to accept the transfer, she can move him to my caseload and I will deal with him. As unbelievable as it is, I really wasn't trying to get out of dealing with the idiot, I was just joking with the boss. Guess I'm gonna have to stop that, lest I am looked on as the bosses pet.
Title: Re: We Contemplate on Beans in Sharing 513
Post by: Nelle on September 17, 2019, 06:55:53 PM
Or maybe it's just finally some justified 'lifting' of the caseload... :)

@Work. Still. I called and got a dentist appointment for Thursday evening. I want him to just check the tooth area out to make sure nothing else is going on that needs attention to cause the discomfort/pain.

I also need a nap. Cannot ever get enough sleep.. the bed just gets too comfy right when it's time to wake up. That and one of our cats keeps coming to the window and knocking on it and meowing from the other side (they have the front porch during our sleep hours & when we are at work). It's got a/c access, a full cat food buffet, and a water fountain. Not the luxurious lifestyle they deserve, but it's a modest one, haha. I just want her to hush while we sleep hahahaha.

I sort of figured out how to pay for the root canal I need done. But I haven't scheduled the appointment yet.
I have a hard time justifying the expense. It makes me sick.

I dunno what's going on but I cannot get enough sleep this week. I took a nap Sunday afternoon. I took 2 naps Monday. I took a nap yesterday afternoon. And I just literally crawled out of bed today at 11 something and that's crashing BEFORE midnight. Idk what's going on. I'm usually quite opposite and unable to sleep ever.

I bet I wouldn't be approved. Apparently if you haven't got a credit card by 40 they assume you won't get one. The ONLY credit cards I can get are the "secured" ones, and that is basically you giving them your money and then borrowing it back from them. I can't even get an amazon card.

I have a friend who is married with two children who did not get approved for it. It's definitely smart to only put on at a time what you can get paid in that timeframe. It's been amazing. There is also a car version of this card called Car Care One. We have that one as well. Two biggest unexpected bills can be car repair and medical costs, and they have been wonderful helps for us.

@Work. Eating a pepperoni Tostinos pizza for lunch. I usually can eat about half, and then I have to put it away for later. It hits that flavor spot every now and then!

Went to the dentist last night after work. They redid the filling from two weeks ago. Hopefully this time it's fixed b/c I don't want to keep going every week or two, haha.

Title: Re: We Contemplate on Beans in Sharing 513

So...a story.

My neighbor had a brilliant idea.  He has a pretty yellow lab, he bought a standard poodle, and a few months later, Labradoodles.

Easy peasy, right?  The pups need a home, he has 4 of them, but not one single person has tried to get one.

Last night, I get home and about the moment I stepped out of the car, the poodle has attacked one of the pups.  Literally shaking it like a rag doll.  He's played rough with the pups, but this is pure aggression.  My neighbor isn't home, so I run over and separate them.

I call my neighbor to tell him what had just happened when one of the pups walked over to another pup and attacked it.  Again, pure aggression, but from the pup! I try to separate them, and the pup has such a grip on the other one that when I lift up the aggressor, it picks the other pup off the ground.  I finally get the female pup off the other dog, and not 10 seconds later, she's back on the other pup attacking.

After my neighbor got home, I went over and told him what had happened, and as we were talking the female pup attacked again.

I've never seen anything like it.  My neighbor is older, on blood thinners, doesn't move fast, and I warned him, you better watch that thing, she may get ahold of you.  Again, this is an 8-week old pup, maybe 15 pounds, clumsy and not a full-grown dog.

About an hour later, he calls me in a panic... "Can you bandage me up?!?"

Sure enough, the pup had bitten him on the hand, all the way to the bone.  This dog is crazy!  He had managed to get the dog into a pen before called me.

As I am standing there trying to bandage him up, the pup gets out of the pen, runs over and attacks a pup again.  My neighbor got them separated, and I told my neighbor to put it over the fence with me and my german shepherd.  I figured my dog could keep the pup in line, and sure enough, it worked.  The pup was A-OK with my dog, and acted like they were best friends.

We finally had to get an enclosed pen to keep that pup in.

After everything settled down, I was reading last night and ran across an article:  https://www.dailystar.co.uk/news/world-news/inventor-labradoodle-says-hes-created-20166667 (there are some words in the article)

But the guy says this:  "I find that the biggest majority (of Labradoodles) are either crazy or have a hereditary problem."

Don't get me wrong, some of the pups are sweet as all get out. But I really think some of them have serious mental issues!

This is precisely why cats are better than dogs. :teeth: I've known some cats who were sneaky or vindictive or just plain spiteful (a VERY few, most cats I've known are nice folks) but I've never known a cat who was crazy like that.

And if a cat was that crazy, you could probably just keep it at bay by stomping your foot. You're several times their size and they know it.

:hi: Made it to Camden and back. Gonna enjoy running up on the mountain tomorrow, then I MAY be selling the Jeep. Guy talked with me earlier about it, and seemed like he was going to come from Springfield Missouri to buy it. We will see.
I test drove a 78 Corvette yesterday...may work a deal if the Jeep goes away...

Nah, that's not intervention level. If he were keeping the Jeep AND getting the Corvette, to add to his collection of 1,073 other automobiles that he is obsessed with keeping running... then we might need to do something about it.

Actually that's probably what Bobby would be doing if Lou would let him...

LOL.
This one is not my fault. This one is Chey. Totally. She is 13 now and contemplating that oh so wonderful rite of passage- The First Car. She wanted the Jeep originally, which is why I sold my corvette and bought it. But she now thinks that a C3 Corvette, made from '68 to '82, is SO much cooler. I have to agree. And as those were very dark days for American performance, the later C3s, from about '74 to '80 ish only had around 150- 160 hp, which most honda civics have now.  So it's not like I'd be handing her a 170 mph cruise missle- these things run out of steam around 100, and only have 85 on the dashboard, which the aformentioned Honda will out do.
But, the 'vette is SO much sexier. And for the unknowing, it's a HOT car. (She sent a pic of one we are looking at to a boy from Bro Sorrell's church she has a crush on. His response was " Holy cow! What a beautiful vintage Corvette!" He nearly stroked out when she informed him that her Daddy was trying to trade for it to be HER first car. I think HE'S in love- Chey is gorgeous, sweet, a gun nut, and now a 'vette! :laughhard:)
Good Lord willing, she will get one. If not, it won't be because Daddy didn't try...

So a guy has to go out of town for a business trip.  His prized animal, a cat who he dotes on, has to be left behind.  So this guy asks his knuckleheaded brother to watch his precious cat.

The next day, he calls his brother and asks how his cat is.

"The cat died." replies his brother.

"You knucklehead!  You could have told me the cat was on the roof, then when I called back you could have said you took it food and water but it wouldn't eat, then you could have told me it died the 3rd time I called!"

After he cooled down, he asked "How's mom?'

"Um, she's on the roof."

Jeremy's mom's father (Gpa Sandlin) is not doing well. They live in the same town as us, but like most of the rest of their family, we rarely see them. He's been asking to see him/us, so we are hopefully going to their house tonight. He's been praying that Jesus would take him on home. Very sad, but I can't imagine feeling any different. I haven't known him when he wasn't feeling badly, and I've lived here 7 years and counting.

:hi: Completed the workday, and took off a bit early. Went and looked at not one but TWO C3 Corvettes. Both are marginally doable IF the Jeep sells. One of them, the owner is willing to take the Jeep in trade. Of course that's the one that Cheyenne likes the least. The other, a bright yellow car, as in eye searing yellow, has her heart. It's a matter of time before I'm back in debt and one of them follows me home......

The one that she likes least is a nice shade of silver- but it has the amazing side pipes (exhaust pipes that are chrome and run just under the door sill..very cool looking and sounding, with the added benefit of guaranteeing that you will be cautious getting out, lest you toast your leg) and sounds awesome. And it has a newer engine and overdrive transmission that the yellow one does not....but it's paint job IS worse.

The one she wants is definitely not going to let her ease around unnoticed, even without the ubercool side pipes. We drove it about 5 miles, through town and to Walmart and people were staring at it, even though it is not perfect. Very eye catching. And after driving it, I am less concerned about her getting in trouble with it. It IS cool- but if she gets in a drag race with her mama in the Lincoln, she will be embarrassed. I'm not sure that Rusty won't outrun it. :laughhard:   I "got on it" once, and coulda drank a coke before we hit 70.

Lou drug me out of my comfy bed at 8 am this morning and made me go yardsale-ing. Like 200 miles of it. LOL. Then I came home, wore to a frazzle, sat down and opened the Bible and God started pouring tomorrow's sermon on. I hope I can deliver it in the manner I got it. Oh, and in the middle of the studying, I got a call from the PD- one of my wayward children had been picked up with drugs and I had to go test him and speak with him. I used the time to and from the jail to talk to God, nearly had a revival of my own. Oh, and I saw Ms Hattie, my other mother, sitting on her porch and stopped to check on her on the way back. That turned into an hour of talk that blessed my soul.

:hi: Woke up today still feeling less than 100%. I realized that 1) I have nearly 700 hours of sick time and 2) it has been over a year since I took a full day of sick time. I took half a day last November, and have taken time off in the form of comp time and vacation time, but I rarely take off because I feel poorly. When I realized that due to a court day change from Wednesday to this past Monday that left me scrambling, I had nearly no one scheduled to come in, I decided I would tak the day off and do NOTHING. So I sit here with the smell of a pot roast in the crockpot Lou put on before she went to work, the house comfy, a left over Steak and Shake Ice cream shake next to me- and I am not doing ANYTHING until I have to go to church tonight. I anticipate drifting off to sleep in the middle of a book before long.

I like it better when its PTO (paid time off) so you can use it as sick days or vacation and get paid for the time left if you quit.

One of my fears is I will bike to w*rk, start feeling sick, then have to bike fourteen miles home while sick. Haven't had to do it yet but I don't know what I'll do if it happens. I guess get home somehow. I don't want to call anybody to pick me up because I don't want THEM getting it too.

:pound:  Weird Cat. Ask and ye shall receive. :pound: Nah, my boss tells me frequently I have to take off. He has to remind me and my "work sistah" who has been here 28 years that we are getting close to the maximum allowed vacation time. If we don't have less than 240 hours by December 31, they take whatever is over. No compensation at all.
We are both bad about not taking off- it's not that I LOVE work, but the job is so intense if I take off, it can be twice as much to do when I return. AND I do things MY way and don't want anyone else messing in my cases.  She's as picky as I am over her cases, so she does the same. I blame her, she trained me.

As I've posted before, in the three years I've been here, They've nailed me for two of them, taking around 3 weeks total of vacation. I never got a dime for it...

I was wondering the same. I think I missed where she moved? I thought she was in an apartment.  I personally don't MIND mowing - as long as it isn't with a push mower, haha.

Here in town, we get warnings and then fines for not mowing our yards. So I make sure Jeremy stays on top of it. Of course, we got him a new mower last year, so he LOVES mowing now. We have a TON of leaves in our yard - and we only have one tiny crabapple tree. It's kinda frustrating sometimes, haha. Thanks, wind!

@work. It's supposed to get into the mid 70s today, but there's rain coming, so.. I'm not sure I'll be too excited about walking to and from my car, LOL. My husband glares so hard when I say that, I'd probably keel over right then if looks could kill.

Umm no. We must be referring to different trees. Mine do not smell. And they are not soft. They're crunchy and brown...and UGHLY.

I think hers are brown because she's in Texas, and Texas isn't probably as lush as Tennessee could be. Altho I do not pretend to be a tree expert, so I could still be wrong there. :)

Finally almost off @work, haha. I REALLY really really need to work on our 'fall clean-out' tonight. I'll probably fall prey again to a cat in the lap and not be able to move until bedtime. Ferocious napping beasts, they are.

Agree with Nelle. And Tennessee is  inferior to Arkansas. :hypocrite:

:laughhard:  And Nelle, I'm not a cat person, but I have a 2.2 lb Chihuahua that I fall prey to in the same manner. A couple years ago, Chey bought me a fleece lined blue blanket that I use to cover up in my recliner- I'm a blanket person that likes to be covered up even if it's hot out. The MINUTE I unfold it, Daisy comes running all excited and demands to be picked up. She cuddles with me and sacks out, which causes me to sack out. LOL

Picked up? She can't hop up in your lap on her own?

That settles it. Cats are DEFINITELY better than dogs. They have built-in elevators.

But yes, being trapped under a tiny animal is a common occurrence.

And Nelle, yeah you're probably right. We don't even know what droughts are. We've heard of them, but we always have plenty water here.

My baby is all the dog I need. And the chair is way to high for my baby to jump. Her might get hurted.

Shew. Court date today.  I feel worn out again and would love to stay home tonight- but it's church night and given recent events and Bro Wilson's health issues, I am needed there. It probably does me good to be needed. See, if you don't feel necessary, it is easier to talk yourself into a recliner instead of church like you know you should be...

But mini, look at your comparative statures. If Bobby had a dog like yours there is no way he could pick it up like you pick yours up. He'd topple over.

He has to settle for something smaller. And tiny dogs are (mostly) little yapping worthless nuisances. What Bobby needs is a cat. Bobby would be able to pick up a cat, and they are much better than tiny dogs.

:pound: Lynx. My baby is not a "little yapping worthless nuisance." She is a beautiful, sweet, loving little companion who is an excellent watch dog that lets nothing get past her. I did not settle, I selected a better fit for my life. And I can't stand a cat. Worthless, self important, evil vermin that walk on cars and scratch paint jobs and couches. Cats are good for one thing- target practice.

Morning all. SO glad I went to church last night. Started out ho-hum, then the power of God fell. Holy Ghost drunk. it was awesome...

But a cat has a certain level of top-notch crazy about it...trust me, I know.

Lynx, you will appreciate this.  We have a cat too.  We got it at about 6 weeks old, and I was terrified that Gracie would hurt it.  After a few weeks of Gracie eyeing it, we let it out of its crate to play, and this German Shepherd was beyond excited.  After 7 months, we are constantly telling the dog "Leave the cat alone!" and we are constantly telling the cat "Leave Gracie alone!"  They play like crazy!

This is a picture of the two.  Gracie had some her toys out, and laying next to the cat is the tail Gracie ripped off one of her toys that the cat claimed.  The fight was on then!  The cat wouldn't let the dog play with it...LOL

LOL. I love it.

Tabby (girl, white cat) is super agile. She was probably a ballerina or something in another life. (LOL I'm kidding) She's fairly graceful and never needs help jumping into/onto things. Ted (boy, tiger stripe cat) is allllll thumbs. I've had my legs ripped up numerous times from his attempts to merely jump into the recliner with me. Granted, he's a SUPER long cat and much bigger than his sister. He's also 0% graceful except for when he's jumping around chasing a toy. That part is just cute.    The vet is constantly surprised with how long he is when we pull him out of his carrier at their office. Which I'm glad about, because I don't get lectures about his weight.

@Work. allergies have re-attacked. I also slept most of the night with the heated mattress pad on. I woke up about 4am wondering why I felt like I was cooking tho. Apparently that's the magical time of day where I become 100% uncomfortable no matter what, haha. Bladder wakes me up then, cats wake me up then, my body temperature wakes me up then... I'm just glad Jeremy stays asleep since he has to get up at 5:30, haha.

One advantage you have with dogs and cats is, you don't have to see their faces to know what they are up to. Their ears give them away every time. Gracie is obviously plotting a scheme to get that tail back.

I always loved making peanut brittle! Our church here does it every Christmas, but they are a little... territorial about how it's done and whatnot. You feel a bit like you're maybe in a place YeOlePoliceman puts people. BUT we still try to go help if they're making it when we aren't working. (They usually did it during the day.)

Yeah, it looks a bit different. Musta had an upgrade. Morning all.  Last night was a good service. Seemed to be a bit heavy at first, but when asked, my prayer warriors came through and God moved. So thankful for people who will unashamedly let God use them.
Back at work. Like Nelle- Don't wanna be. People began pushing my buttons at approximately 8 am this morning, when I picked up the phone for the first time. Had to remember my daily prayer/bible verse/creed for my life- "Create in me a clean heart, oh Lord, and renew a right spirit within me". 'Cause what is there right now isn't right, and I'm not so sure that a heart devising multiple ways to kill someone could be considered clean...

I've made it to the halfway point of the day without committing a felony though.

Day 2 of 4 until escape..

(...from work. :) I get to miss a day of work!!)

I have to still get my husband to try on his shirts so that we know he has something to wear to this wedding. I still have to figure my clothing choices as well, but I have a plethora to choose from.. LOL.

I am so enjoying getting to wear sweaters. I probably could wear them year-round if I wore them at work. The a/c has run just as much as in the summer, I do believe. It's not even hot outside. The guys are coming in with jackets on! I just run my little heater when I get too chilled tho.

Title: Re: We Contemplate on Beans in Sharing 513
Post by: Roscoe on October 22, 2019, 10:09:36 PM
I get made fun of because the one redeeming quality about cold weather for me is being able to wear baggy sweaters and pullovers. I like them because they are comfy and as an added bonus, my favorite pistol of all time, (a 1911 Kimber Ultra Carry Tactical .45, if there is a gun nut here that wants to know) fits perfectly under the hem of a sweater. It is kinda bulky for concealed carry in the summer, so I resort to the smaller Kimber Micro Carry 9 for summer carry. For those whose eyes glazed over hearing gun talk- Cliff's notes: I get to carry big bang bang instead of little bang bang. :laughhard: Much more satisfying.

Just 2 hours from finished for the day...
Title: Re: We Contemplate on Beans in Sharing 513
Post by: Lynx on October 23, 2019, 02:43:38 AM
But... isn't it only more satisfying if you actually get to go bang-bang with it? Or is merely having it on your person more satisfying? And if you actually used it, I thought that was a BAD thing that you had to go bang-bang.
Title: Re: We Contemplate on Beans in Sharing 513
Post by: Roscoe on October 23, 2019, 09:16:01 PM
:hi: Had defensive tactics today. Haven't been near the computer.
And Isaac, it is immensely satisfying to shoot the gun at the range, comforting to have it on me, and very bad if I HAVE to make it bang. In any situation though, I prefer the larger caliber, due to its superior knock down power. Just having the larger gun on me gives me comfort, as if you shoot someone or something with the 9mm, they may keep coming, depending on shot placement. But if you hit them anywhere with that huge chunk of lead coming out of a .45, even in the toe, they gonna stop...

@Work. Today is my Friday!

We are leaving tonight for Indianapolis. Tomorrow we will arrive in Toledo. He's too excited to see his buddies to wait the additional evening. Our furry babies will hate us when they realize this tonight, because they LOVE getting to come into the living areas with us when we are home. If any animal was ever a spy, it will be a cat. I can't move anything in or out without it being noticed and sniffed. I've followed a bunny trail from my original thought.. I thankfully have given then some new hiding places in their dedicated space. As soon as we can move that old futon rail out, I can install their new tall cat tree. It's literally 6' tall. They have new beds coming sometime soon, but I ordered them from Zulily so it could still be the middle of next month before they even ship to me.

They're talking about going to the zoo, maybe a museum, or some resale shops this weekend while we are there in OH. I'm hoping so. I love ALL of those places!! I'm honestly a little nervous about this trip because I am very different from all of these people. They have more in common with Jeremy than me.. other than that we all love cats, LOL. I know it'll be fun though, so I'm hoping everything goes smoothly!

In local news: Remember how Chel likes to gadabout visiting friends all over the world? Another peregrinating, peripatetic friend has dropped by, a friend named Kim from another forum. She's stopping here for about a week, then visiting a friend in Virginia for about 20 days.

So far we have visited the Olde Towne Spaghetti Store, the Cheesecake Factory, McKay's bookstore, Opryland Hotel, the Mewsic City Cat Cafe, Wednesday night church service and a couple malls. Still on the itinerary is visiting a hole-in-the-wall diner, a family dinner, a tutorial on how to use screencast devices, a tutorial on how to use a Fire Stick media viewer, a tutorial on how bicycle gears work, a tutorial on how to edit pictures, church service Sunday, church Fall Festival Sunday night (and pie contest!) and a road trip to Virginia with a short layover at my mother's house in east TN.

So far she has been delighted with everything we have visited. And she's not the kind to act delighted when she's not. I think I gauged it right when I was suggesting places for her to see while she was here.

On a side note, if you ever have a chance to go to the Cheesecake Factory, go. (That one was Kim's suggestion, not mine.) Don't go very often (or you'll go broke real fast) but do go at least once. The prices are of course high, but I reserved my opinion until I tasted the product. The cheesecake I tried was good, and the baked avocado roll I tried was exceptional.

Best way to pick up the beast. I fixed the propane fireplace today. Had to buy a flare tool- again- but it works and that's all that matters. Spent most of the day off and on talking with someone by text that wanted my jeep. He decided to offer me a thousand dollars less than I asked and seemed offended that I turned him down.
And I pulled out the stops and cooked chop steak in mushroom gravy and mashed potatoes, anticipating my wife would come home and have a nice dinner. Nope, she went to some baby shower and ate finger foods, so I wasted my time. And, I've evidentially pulled my right hip out of socket and am in mucho pain.

Well yesterday was... eventful.

That friend Kim who came through to visit on her way to Virginia, remember her? Yesterday we popped out to a local hole-in-the-wall diner for a really good burger and her first taste of fried catfish.

While there... THE STORM HIT!

It didn't dump much rain, this storm, but the wind!! Every single road had a tree down across it. I don't know of any houses that did not have wind damage. In about half an hour my whole town was wrecked. I tried to get home from five different directions and couldn't get there.

Fortunately people with chainsaws were everywhere too. Lord bless them, I'm glad they can use those things because I can't and you really don't want me to try. They cut paths through all the trees and we finally got home. In one mile of back road between the highway and my house there were four trees down. You wouldn't believe how many power lines were wasted. We might not get power back up for three weeks or a month! Of course there was no cell phone signal.

We decided to retreat to a McDonald's at a neighboring town and consider our options. Sticking around was useless because there was nothing we could do. Grandma had already been picked up and taken to Aunt Diane's house. So we looked up the cost of changing a car rental reservation... huh. Not bad.

The original plan had us heading east Monday morning, picking up the rental car in Nashville, spending Monday night at my mother's house, then heading to Virginia on Tuesday. The revised plan had us driving to Nashville last night, picking up the rental car about noon today and spending two nights with Mom... which she doesn't mind at all, as she was commenting that an overnight stay didn't give a lot of time for talking.

So last night after we used McD's as an emergency fall-back base we started driving east. We hit Nashville and began looking for a hotel. This, it turns out, was a mistake. Nashville is hosting a large number of events right now and a large number of people are packing out hotels all over. We should have crashed just outside of Nashville where they actually have space. But slightly after midnight, after eight or nine hotels, we finally found one with rooms available.

Now we have a few hours of sleep and we are ready to continue to Mom's. Stay tuned to this station for late breaking reports.

Pastor of my church sent out a message there is now no water or gas in my town. Anybody from the periphery who has power is asked to cook soup or something and bring it to church to feed people in need and those working to dig out.

And here I am on a road trip. There's nothing I could have done to help if I had been there, as I have no resources... but I feel like a heel anyway, running out on them. :-/

Jeremy ~had~ to have one a couple of years ago. He's still in love, but it doesn't get used as much since he doesn't get home from work until really late. Usually just maybe on Sundays or a random day off. He wants me to learn to use it, but I don't want to learn to grill, because then it's my responsibility Haha.

@Work. We had a good time. It's a beautiful area, even with all of the road construction. :) Jeremy's game friends were all very nice. Weekend went by too quickly.

It's misted two days now. I keep asking the weather in the mornings, and this morning it had 10% rain. I figure that's as close to 0 without being zero. I walk outside and smacked with mist. LOL. I had to quickly cover my sister-in-law's birthday card so it wouldn't get wet.

I grill all of the time. It's easy. I have a propane one though.

I've been too tight to buy a propane grille. And the more I read about the Pitboss pellet smoker/grille, the more I want one.
Was a long day today. Mucho busy. Mucho people not doing what they are supposed to which annoyed me. Part of the job though. And it is cool here. Glad I got the fireplace fixed....it knocks the chill off without cranking up the central heat and overdoing it.

I am SO ready for October to be over! This whole trip has been major stress and a significant excursion outside my comfort zone. And I wouldn't have missed it for worlds.

It started the week before I picked up the friend who came over to visit. I found out my car's tailpipe fell off. NOOO! This is the vehicle I need to make it all the way to Nashville three times in a week! I called somebody and got a new one put on fast.

Next week my friend came in. I picked her up at the airport Tuesday and went to the Cheesecake Factory.

Wednesday we went to the Olde Towne Spaghetti Store and church.

Thursday we went to Nashville and toured a cat cafe, McKay's bookstore, Opryland Hotel and Opry Mills mall. Then we went home and fell over.

Friday I taught her how to use a screencast dongle and edit pictures.

Saturday we went to a hole-in-the-wall restaurant that has good burgers, and my town got blasted by a storm. Saturday night we retreated to a McDonald's that had power and internet and quickly researched the cost of picking up the rental car a day early. Then we drove east, crashing in Nashville... at about the eighth hotel, as all previous ones we checked were booked solid. Many events in Nashville that day, they said.

Sunday we tried to pick up the rental car. They said since we used a debit card when we made the reservation, we had to wait 24 hours to pick up the car. My friend quickly ascertained what would be necessary to get the car NOW and paid for it with her credit card. Grrrr... I was driving the car so I wanted the deposit to be on me. Now if I mess the car up SHE will have to pay for it. Not happy. But we were on the road and reached my mother's home in east TN safely (after a quick stop at the Knoxville McKay's. My friend was impressed by the McKay's both in Nashville and Knoxville.)

Monday was downtime for recuperation.

Tuesday (yesterday) I drove my friend on to Virginia, then drove myself and the rental car back. That was a lot of driving.

Today I am returning the rental car in Nashville, then going home to a house that now has water but still no power.

Tomorrow is my first day back at w*rk, and it's gonna be a hectic one. All the loonies come out and get real drunk on Halloween. The longer you are there the weirder the day becomes.

Can we fast forward to November? October is wearing and stressing me out. I just wanna crawl back into my hole and hibernate for half a month or so.

Yeah October has not been the most pleasant. November may be as bad though. I'm not the happiest this time of year. I start getting my cheer back on in the spring...

Don't get your hopes up. My friend has a habit of going to visit people. Just like somebody else we know...

Sounds like you had a LOT of people time! I don't mean to sound like Seth, but.. almost too much peopley time for me! LOL..

@Work. Just finished lunch and purchased a few gifts online for Christmas. Making plans to visit a craft bazaar on Saturday at a local UPC church with some coworkers. I like going to things like that with people. Jeremy's never off on Saturdays unless he specifically asked off for it, so this will work! Hopefully I won't find anything to buy except maybe some baked goods. :)

Tried to work on the church books last night, but my laptop has decided it doesn't like to work. Jeremy started trying to offload some programs we don't use to see if it would help it. That laptop has been bad news since Day 1. (It's an HP.) I just need a desktop, to be honest. It has always been much easier to do book work with those.

Anyway.. I need to get back to work since I have an estimator out of town Friday and thru next week. I need to give him all of the paperwork I need back before he leaves, so I have to get that all ready. At least I'm warm, dry, and semi-cozy (even at work) and not outside in the chilly rain.

HP has been going downhill for years now. Dell is still pretty good I think. Acer has been junk for more than a decade. Even Asus is becoming unreliable these days.

But every ThinkPad I ever bought is still running...

My work computer is a Dell. Absolutely love it, but our state network- eh, not so much.
And morning all. Had church last night. Good friend, Bro Terry Long preached. Much to Cheyenne's delight, he brought his 14 year old grandson along. (They crushing on each other). Bro Wilson called Chey up before church to talk to him, as she was sitting back in the back corner by herself. He asked her "You gonna hide in the corner, or sit with your friend and be nice?" LOL. She turned bright red- but then completely amazed me. She came over and sat in the front with her friend, who turned about as red as she did.
We all went to dinner after church too. She told me on the way home that she had "had a good evening, Dad."
Dear Lord.
Now I am back at work, where I am majorly miffed. See, our "clients" pay a $35 month supervision fee. We are required to make sure they pay and keep the balance under $105. They want you to have a 90% average if possible. We've been in friendly competition with each other to see who can get the highest average. I've been working all month on mine. I had done the impossible. Until yesterday (the next to last day of the period) I had a 100% average. Yesterday evening they released an idiot from the sanction program. Another officer had let him get behind, then sent him to the sanction program. He couldn't parole out where he came from, so he found a place here. They released him , put him on my caseload- along with his $105 fees. I was mad enough to bite nails, and I suspect the evil witch at our front desk, who assigns the cases did it on purpose.
So instead of 100%, I will have a 99.2%. It STILL makes me mad thinking about it.

Whew.

It's been a crazy week.  We have been working on an addition at work, and last week and this week was IT's time to step in.  Last week we made sure all the network ports were up and running.

Monday, we installed new network switches.

On Tuesday we started moving computers into the new offices...and we got a new phone system.  I had something like 18000 steps in by the end of the day.

Wednesday was the same thing.

Today is a little quieter.

But so far, 10 people have moved into new offices, their old offices have been abandoned, cleaned out, will be repainted, recarpeted, and have new furniture, then we move people into those offices and start the process all over again.

Im tarred.

Sounds glorious. I wish I had my own office. LOL. (Only on days I'm not feeling chatty.)

@Work. Currently waiting on my chicken pot pie to cool enough to eat for lunch. Working on invoicing, monthly union reports, and then I'll have to work on our certified payroll reports to turn in Monday. Some of our people will be gone next week on a "business" trip so I'm having to get things ready for their absence.

Supposedly there will still be trick or treating tonight in our town. It actually snowed here a little (obviously not sticking lol) and it is SO cold. I can't decide if I want to try to sit out on my porch and hand out candy, or sit in my recliner and EAT this candy. Our house is not set up for people to knock/ring a bell to get candy, so it's one or the other.  I wouldn't mind eating the candy, personally. :)

Laptop Discussion: I have had two Dell laptops in my life since 2007. I broke one by stepping on it accidentally. The other one just died out of nowhere. So I bought this HP since we've been married. It's unreal that it's already been almost 8 years, so I can't even remember which year it was I bought it without looking up my order forms, hahaha. Anyway.. I did prefer my Dell. I don't like having to pay extra for Microsoft Office and I don't like Windows 10 layout still.

Yeah that's the only problem I have with ThinkPads. They keep running looooong after I wish they would die so I could justify getting a new computer.

Though if your computer is THAT slow, maybe it needs a reinstall. Common Windows Wisdom is a Windows computer that is online a lot needs a wipe-and-reinstall every one to two years, depending on internet use. You don't even have to get viruses to need a wipe-and-replace. Just normal internet clutter accumulates and slows it down over time.

I worked all day. :smirk: Lou went to a women's conference tonight in Beebe. It's 11pm and she's still there..
Chey and I ran to Conway and went to Books a Millon. She got a book she's been wanting and I stumbled across a Tom Cotter "Barnfind" table book on close out. (It's a book about barnfind antique cars. I already had the first volume, but refused to spend $40 for the second. But on close out for $13... well, that's a horse of another color.)
Tomorrow, I intend to sleep in. And maybe work on Sam some.
