Well tomorrow I go back to work for one more day at McD's. They have a big Corporate inspection tomorrow and the guy who was replacing me is just not working out (shows up late, doesn't show at all, etc) so Sis. Carol called me this morning to ask me to work tomorrow. When I said I would she announced it immediately and I heard a zoo, or what sounded like one. She said it was just the gang cheering. Oh well, as long as they don't get confetti in my hair. :P
Singles night at church tonight. Attendance was considerably low. Only five of us. I was the only female. Lots of other females would have thought that was a really positive thing, being surrounded by single men.

Worked till about midnight helping a buddy build some displays for his knife business and doing some computer work for him. Then got up at about 4am because he was headed to a setup at an event today. I got dropped off on the way. Now, I am headed to Meridian MS to pick-up something. Then I may come home and crash for a while. I am wore out.

All that fun w/ my sister and BIL and we got one picture @ Ihop right before they left. And my sis is a photographer! LOL
I'm so excited, and adore my new BIL. As the oldest of 3 girls, and Nathan having also sisters, this is my first brother. My other sister is married too recently but I haven't seen them since they wed but met him once before. In 2 wks, we travel up north to do a wedding celebration of sorts for my sisters since their weddings were circumstantially exclusive. Our family is going to celebrate! Nathan is going to be the "minister" and do a fun marriage proclamation thing w/ vows. It's all our own made up thing to have an event to celebrate and get to know the... well, newest families.
My family never plays by the conventional rules and yet, I think my sisters and I are inadvertently becoming the solidity of our family. I want Jesus to come back soon, today would be great with me! However, for the first time, it feels like I have a "family" instead of just 2 sisters and an aunt that I'm close with. And it feels pretty wonderful. Now we are 4 families, with aunts, uncles and cousins. Pretty special. Thank you Jesus. ♥

Howdy y'all. My day of w*rk (hush Chel) at McD's went rather well, considering everyone was nervous about the Corporate bigwig inspection. The boss did threaten to lock me in so I wouldn't leave again though. Seems they're having some trouble with the guy who replaced me. Holly said this week has been really stressful with all the new people, trying to train them and get them up to speed before Inspection Day.
In other, totally unrelated news I made about $30 less in ONE week at work than I made in TWO weeks at w*rk. And that was for 40 hours - I got a lot of voluntary overtime this week. :freaky2:
Went to the place I always go and came home and did the stuff I always do.

Been a LONG day! But a fun day!! :)
Been a long day here too. We did our nursing home ministry this morning, took all the kids to the park and had a pizza party, then I went back to the church and worked on our sign song for this month, hung out there a bit, then I went to the hospital for my weekly weigh in, and then headed to WM. Came home, cooked mom a Pre-mothers day meal, watched some TV, cleaned the kitchen, marinated some ribeyes, and wrapped some sweet potatoes for tomorrow, and talked to my favoritest little brother.
*sigh* I love my life!

Well I was up at 2:30am this morning. We blew up 1,702 balloons for Mother's Day. Sis. Amy got the most this year, so she'll be Mother of the Year. Now back at home, getting dressed for church.
Having a blah day. Almost burst into tears for no real, good reason. *sigh*

Still running on about an hour of sleep. W2CCH, cooked lunch for my madre, now I have to make a run to Wal-Mart (Pray Seth Pray! If I get anymore messages I will let you know. lol), and then back to work on Math assignments I need to turn in early. I also found out today ,my hectic week ahead is gonna be a little more hectic because i am doing both the Adult Sunday School class and preaching next Sunday. I also am in charge of the worship service which is kind of difficult when you don't sing or play an instrument. lol
Anybody know where I can get some good Apostolic worship music to download(Free or really cheap) and burn a cd before next Sunday? lol

*i started a 2nd job this week. took my cat in to the vets office 2 weeks ago and was offered a job as a receptionist at the animal hospital. also found out Topher is closer to 6 than 4. oh the animal shelter has NEVER given us a right age on an animal we're adopted.
*APB has reappeared only to just to dancing around the 'being in a relationship' line. boys. sheesh.
*still going to church. had some rough times, but i know i'll make it through.
*my car was finally sold and I still owe just under $4000 on it. They've called 8 times in 2 days. this could get interesting.....

I cannot believe this... the church sound system's main sound output went out right in the middle of Mother's Day service! I mean come on, it couldn't have picked last Wednesday to go out, or next Wednesday, or even a Sunday night somewhere, it had to wait until NOW?!! :pullhair: So I made a fast cable swap and stole the stage monitor 1 input, straight to amp and to house speakers. Turned volume low before swapping and fortunately there were no nasty ear-blowing surprises.
So after taking the bus kids home I came back to church, where I am now, and still have to figure out what went wrong and fix it for real.
But really... During the middle of Mother's Day service?
Maybe I'll fix it with a sledgehammer... :pound:
Oh yeah, forgot about the balloons... we had our Mother's Day balloon sale again, buy a balloon for your mother, mom with the most balloons is crowned Mother of the Year, money goes to Mother's Memorial. I was up at 2:30am to get here at 3am, and we blew up 1,702 balloons. After I got the bus kids home I took a nap on the church pew... I told a friend if someone tried to get between me and a nap someone gonna get hurt. :P
So after a nap, *now* I'm going to take a can opener to the sound system.
I have entirely too much work to do....fences to build/rebuild, brush and trees to cut up and clear. Birds and birds to raise. Everything else to attend to.

Says they can't care for them. Two days was more than they could handle??! lol If indeed it is them. The pic is not real close so I can't see if they look definitely like the ones I have or not, but awfully coincidental. lol

Fighting a headache.
Broke my glasses on Saturday. Hoping to get them repaired tomorrow.
Need to get an eye exam and a new pair of glasses soon, but finances are NOT working well for that at the moment. Last eye exam and new pair of lenses was in January of 2004.
Discovered dark chocolate-covered very cherry Jelly Belly jelly beans today. Mmmmmmmmm! Fun how a few cents at the candy store will brighten any day. :bigcheese:

Mel-Mel, a guy we know and his son brought a round bale of hay down for my sister's cows, and when they dropped it off, they came up here to the house to talk to my dad. I was tending fowl at the time and such, imagine that...lol...
When they first came up the drive I was going around the tractor shed to the backside around to the new breeding pen area. I was back there fiddling around for a few minutes, and when I came back around the corner, the boy was up by the garage peeing. It was getting dark and I didn't even notice him really until I saw him move, he saw me before I saw him and he turned around more toward the wall.
He didn't realize I had been down there, and I already obviously had freaked him out, so I didn't want to add insult to injury, so I just went on my merry way back around to the chicken house and didn't look back up or anything or act like I saw him. Bless his heart. lol
And that, dear friends, is how I startled someone peeing.

Home from work. We were only running one furnace line tonight because one of the people on the braze end wasn't there, so it was a slow night for me. So I suggested the boss give me something else to do as time permits, which he took to instantly of course, and I got a good 177 parts inspected and packed in my spare time. It's good to be busy without being rushed. :)

Had someone tell me they had really been struggling w/ cutting their hair. Then they had a dream that they did & some church people complimented her & she was feeling fine about it. Until she realized I might be there & would be disappointed. She said the HG convicted her & she woke up reassured in not cutting her hair.
She meant th is as a compliment & thanked me. Except this lady is is older than me, moved away some time ago. I'm glad she got thro through it but it's not like I want to be associated with conviction. I just want people to love & cling to truth.
Perhaps some day I'll learn to be one of those quiet sweet women that never say a conflicting thing. It's great to say be yourself to someone who's easy going. I'm feeling like "let somebody else" point out the scriptures that illuminate what they need & I'll just stick to the warm & fuzzy ones.

Went to granny's and did a bit of yard work.

When we were at town earlier my mom said "Did this chicken house up here burn?" Referring to the KFC, which has been mostly demolished and is being rebuilt.... I hadn't seen it before then, and I don't know if it had a fire or if they were just redoing it otherwise....
But I still think about it and get tickled at her calling it the chicken house...lol
Chey and I went to town in rusty, enjoyed a plesant drive. Stopped and got some fresh ground beef at the local old time butcher shop/grocery- it doesn't cook down near as much as that junk you get at Walmart. Now we're back home. Think I'm fixing to start cooking dinner- gonna have chopped steak in a mushroom gravy, mashed taters, corn and rolls. May even make some quick brownies for dessert.
Lou said she's going to be busy mopping and sweeping the floor and washing laundry- it's ether cook or get drafted to help with that. I prefer to cook. :biglaugh:
And Cheese- we had our local "chicken house" KFC shut down and remodeled as a Hardee's a few months back. It was nearly opened before I realized it. I was shocked to discover the remodeling had taken three months, and I hadn't noticed it. So much for being observant. :biglaugh:

It worked....won that one....that other person bidding against me on some of them must be using a sniper program or something, cause I put in a bid quite a bit higher than where it was sitting, and with just a few seconds, it popped it all the way to the top from the other person's bids in between....

I wrap the eggs individually in bubble wrap, put them in egg cartons (with smaller eggs that fit even when bubble wrapped, that's a breeze, with bigger eggs, they don't really fit, but use the egg carton as a stabilizer at least...), and pack all around the egg cartons in the shipping box with filler such as crumpled newspaper.
I've had very few reports of any breakage on my shipments.

I was going to take him where I had mine cut, but our pastor's wife suggested where pastor got his cut (should have been danger signal #1, what does a Pentecostal woman know about where to get hair cuts) :)
We show up at the place, and he goes first. He has curly hair, and the woman takes a serious whack off his head with the first sweep! :o She winds up shearing him like a sheep! :o :o
That wasn't his fault. What happened next was absolutely inexcusable. After seeing what she did to him, I go ahead and sit down in the chjair next!

Not sure. I know nothing about sound systems and such. Which is probably our problem right there, actually. My brother knows what he's doing back there in the media booth, but most of the other people who help out really don't know what they're doing. It's all a matter of practice, and sometimes preparation. If someone is using a soundtrack I usually try to at least do a sound check, make sure the singer can hear it in the monitors and it's not going to blast the congregation out in the main speakers. And I put the CD in before the service starts and have it cued and ready to go.
The practice part, that applies to the whole sound booth. Last Sunday our main sound cut out, but I had had practice with what is connected to where (I'm the one who set it up in the first place) so I just stole a monitor input and slapped it into the mains... and it worked. I never had any formal training with working a sound booth, I just observed and experimented with audio cables and adapters and looked up a few diagrams online. All it is, is practice. ;)

He helped out a friend at some district events and whatnot, kept his eyes opened, asked a lot of questions, and then played around with it at our home church. But since he's a homeschooler and very used to studying on his own, and observing and all that, it likely helped him pick it up faster. Dunno. But he's a whiz. :) Hmm... if you're ever out in Oregon, maybe we could talk you two into doing a sound system crash course for several small churches in the area. :thumbsup2:

When I was up on the roof, my weird uncle next door was outside and kept trying to tell me there was some little black bird over there that looked like it was hungry and he didn't know if it was mine..... I was afraid that was some ploy....they'll ask you or tell you something wacko to draw you into some nosey discussion about something else or other weird things.... :-? Then his daughter, my cousin, was over there and he was talking to her about it, so then she asks me about it to verify for him.... She said it was probably a crow. lol I'm thinking, okay, how in the world is some kind of weird baby bird of mine that can't fly supposed to get from over here up a huge hill to the yard over there? And why would I be raising crows? lol
These are the same people that are part of the whole stupid land issues. I was thinking oh please don't talk to me.... I thought I was gonna have to just jump off the roof. :P

Seems fairly complete. I intend to read it myself, there are some things I still don't know.
And by the way, for small churches with small budgets there are two important words. Nady and Behringer. Wonderful cheap brands that do very well. Behringer mixers can be any size from one mic and a guitar input up to a full multiplex soundboard and Nady wireless mics are my go-to brand for handheld and headset.
So, I can't sleep. Instead I've decided to sit up and cry awhile. STUPID PITY PARTY!! At least I have icecream...
I shall now take the time to update everyone on my last week or so.
1. Brendan broke my glasses.
2. I still have no job!
3. Sunday I was asked to sing a special- - - I have practiced at least 9 different songs, none of which I feel led to be THE SONG!
4. My keyboard skills are minimal. I tried playing an easy song, I understood all the Chords could hear and see it in my mind, BUT MY HANDS REFUSE!! Hence the pity party and ice cream tonight. I decided to mix light and dark chocolate by the way, and poured chocolate syrup on top.. ( yeah, its that bad ).
5. I have had a headache the last few days, fighting every way I know how to keep it from progressing into a Migraine.
6. I found a trail of ants trying to get to my kitchen. ( I am now a murderer ) :sadbounce:
7. Last but not Least. I had a nightmare about two weeks back ( if not more ) that I can't seem to shake.!. It's as vivid as the night I had it. I've never experienced anything like this, So to help me, I've decided to ask this question.

I've never made homemade scalloped potatoes, how do you do it?
There are lots of recipes out there, but the one we typically do has sliced potatoes, chunks of ham, onions, a can of cream of mushroom (or celery) soup, cheese, and a dash of salt and pepper. It's easy - and more importantly - YUMMY. :)

Probably the best I've ever eaten. I *might* have sent a picture of them to Mini via text, but I can't be blamed- I was nearly comatose from eating one of those choclate pies and chasing it with a chocolate milk. My sugar was probably through the roof, but I've never had a problem with sugar, so all's good. :lol:

W2cch. Tended fowl. Dropped my phone in a 5 gallon bucket of water. Didn't bother it at all. It's a "ruggedized" phone.... It's took many a beating, but this is the first time it's actually been submerged in water. I'm due for a new one, but the one comparable to it is about $80 even with my upgrade, and I don't want to pay that for it....and the other ruggedized one the numbers on the outside and I don't think that'd be so good...it's just like $20 though...but anyways.... Battery charge don't last long on this old one anymore, but it still works fine otherwise....

Yep, gotta agree with cheese- wierdos. Oh and King Weirdo (aka Cheese) you can get a new battery on ebay for your phone. My Motorola tundra, the only phone I've not yet managed to kill, was doing the same won't-hold-a-charge-long thing. Around $4 bucks on ebay, and I had a nice shiney new battery that remedied that problem. Now I have no reason but lust for buying a smartphone... :lol:

That is precisely what I hate about cell phones. If you have one you are expected to always have it on and be reachable. I have a phone at home, indoors, that people can call me on - sometimes when I step outside I want to be away from it. If I need it I can always go back inside, and if someone needs to call me he can always leave a message.
(And yes I know you were speaking in jest Melody. Some people really do get offended if you have a cell phone and have it turned off (gasp!) when they're trying to call you.)
I get both sides of the story. I think you do need to just step away sometimes, but I do understand the frustration of trying to call someone and not being able to reach them and finding out they just were screening or not answering their phone....

Quail eggs arrived..... Shipping was good, but I don't think they screen their eggs very well when they select them to send, because there are several with cracks. You can't see the cracks on most of them unless you candle them. I think a lot of people don't do that. I always do to make sure. :-? Two of them had air cells busted, so those are a lost cause, barring a miracle. The cracked ones have a chance still. I put wax over the cracks. Hopefully that'll do more harm than good...hard to do it neatly... Anyways...hopefully I get SOME birds out of it at least.
I found a good reverberating, boomy bass drum for the break!
This means nothing to anyone else here, and little even to people who work with music. But I'm excited. :)

Hey, Taco, how's that rooster stuff working out in your knee?
Right now the pain with it is still about the same. But, the grinding noise i use to hear every time I bent it is not nearly as bad. they said it could take up to 3 injections before it actually caused a noticeable difference in the pain though. You have to wait 2-3 months between injections though.
Finishing the bathroom is not going as planned!!

Do not keep asking me to tell you how old I am or why I will not send you a picture of me. The answer was, is and every time you ask in the future will continue to be negative. I can not and will no longer even try to understand why you keep asking me for a pic every month or so when I have repeatedly made it clear I do not send pics, but I get tired of the same old convo every time. My age is between 20 and 50 - anything more definite than that would only be useful for dating purposes, and I'm not looking for a date. As often as you keep harping on the same old "C'mon, pleeeeeaaaase tell me how old you are?" bit, I begin to suspect you are in fact looking for a date.

Well it's time to end this day. Tomorrow will be a big day for me - going to try out a new whole wheat based sourdough starter I've been cultivating. I figured out the reason my whole wheat bread doesn't rise well with all whole wheat flour is because I've been using a white flour based starter, so the yeast is optimized for white flour. Duh. But if this new starter I've been growing works I will no longer have to add white flour to my whole wheat bread in order to get it to rise.

My grandmother is in the hospital. She's improving and being moved out of CCU (or ICU can't quite figure out which one, as the term is different with different people I talk to) into a regular room today. They're not sure yet if it was a heart attack or stroke, but she seems to be greatly improving since Thursday night when they took her to the hospital. Prayers appreciated.
Got a call at 5:30ish this morning that woke me up out of a deep sleep, immediately expecting the worst. It was, instead, a local friend who just needed someone to talk to her.

I dreamed about my neighbor/uncle saying something about this land being his and not ours and I told him off, to make the long story short. lol And that is not a farfetched idea, because they DID say it was theirs, and were going to sell it to the government a few years ago, and the government surveyed it and everything.... I haven't yet figured out if they were just ignorant of the fact it wasn't, or were just trying to connive. They're very capable of either one.
They've not said a word about anything since we had it surveyed though, and I kind of doubt they will, because I think they know the truth or that the truth is out now and they don't have anything to gripe about.

the way you can tell is when they come up to you a year later and ask you about what you said. There is no way to tell immediately most of the time... :grin: I am one of the best at pretending like I dont hear what's being preached at times...

Well teaching went well, worship service using canned music went fairly well and my sermon was going okay till I had to stop and tell a 12 year old boy who was visiting to sit down after he crawled under the pew of a couple of people who are regular visitors. People kind of lost focus after that. If you are going to bring children to church you should also take responsibility for them and make them behave not leave it up to the minister while he is trying to preach. Just sayin.
Well apparently it went better than I thought. Got a very encouraging phone call from a sister in our church.
You just need to polish up on your finesse about the way you worked the rebuking into your sermon...lol Make it flow better. ;)

Testifying wasn't awful but I turned bright red! I thought he has forgotten after THREE hours of church, but he hadn't!! He asked me to stand and greet the congregation. I was like, "I'm glad to be here, but I don't want to stand." haha.. My friend married his son Tony and they now live down here in AR. The pastor said "yeah, these girls from Jonesboro. Not sure what's going on there but they don't talk much." hahahahahahaha

Yes, the * dropped out when I went back to the job from whence we got laid off 2.5 years ago. Work is no longer cussing. :D

My aunt Rachel is still in pain and they are still watching her and increasing her blood pressure to make sure everything's good.
It's been a long weekend but I wanted to share my Aunty's testimony because you all are a part of it, with your prayers. Thank you.
My aunt had been having migraines for a few days and attributed it to spring allergies. One evening she went to bed early and woke up sometime later telling my uncle that it was really bad. Then she put both hands on her head and said she felt something POP and it felt like a band was around her brain. My uncle immediately started praying and she said she couldn't hear him. She got louder and said she couldn't hear anything!
So my uncle called for an ambulance and when they got her they said she had to be air lifted to Tulsa immediately. They live in a neighboring town. When they got to the hospital and got to checking her out, the bleeding had stopped. They assessed that if the bleeding had stopped, she wouldn't need surgery.
The Dr. said that roughly 10 out of 100 people have anuerisms. That 1 out of that 10 survive. That the amount is so small of those that aren't severly handicapped or at least in major physical therapy over months/years. She was the only one on that nuero part of the hospital that was even cognitive. She was the only one that didn't have to have sponge baths and help to the bathroom and what not. You'da thunk she was just in there for an appendix removal or something.
The Dr.s/nurses just kept telling her how lucky she was, that it was such luck.... Yeah, we know better! She is still in the hospital but is recooping and hanging in there on the blood pressure tests that make her head hurt.

Went to the church and planted flowers before they croaked on me......
Was highly pleased and delighted that on my way back home, I came upon not one, but two beavers walking down the road. lol As I came upon them I was like what in the world is that!? Then got close enough to see that it was BEAVERS! I nearly chortled with glee. :P
Only got pics of one, the other was uncooperative.... And I literally scared the poop out of this one trying to get close to him, bless his heart...LOL

One of my really good friends had a pet beaver when he was a kid. He had to get rid of it though because it was just to messy. Same guy later fed me beaver once. Made me wonder what he did with that pet beaver when he had to "get rid" of it. lol

If I went into the details of why my friends mom made him get rid of the beaver because of the mess he made, I am sure you would rethink it as a pet. At least an in house pet. Beavers belong in water for a reason. lol
Well, the bags are packed except for a few last minute things. I am exhausted, but I leave on my U.S. Tour in the morning. Ya'll pray for me!! I wish it was Saturday around 6pm already. lol

I am set on getting 2 baby goats when we get a house, if we can. My kids are so city, it's not even funny. They need some experiences like that.

Like I said, I literally scared the poop out of that one I kept trying to get close to him to get a picture and he ran and pooped in the process.... They didn't act super scared and stuff though...all things considered, I mean they didn't just bolt into the bushes like some animals would.
I'm fixing to go go to sleep.... Can't say bed, cause I haven't slept in my bed for months and months...almost years...lol :-?
