My Rant. Remember, if you're a lurker like me who doesn't post often, you risk being dumped from this site. Upping my post count. Here goes.

We live in a high-priced market where we can't afford to buy a house, but the government, using MY money, has bailed and is bailing out banks who made bad mortgage loans, and people who defaulted after buying more than they could afford.

I work two jobs to make ends meet but the government, using MY money, bailed out the failing, mismanaged auto industry (including a company takeover) and saved the jobs of entitlement-oriented autoworkers who make twice as much pay & benefits as I do.

I can't quite afford to replace our car, now at 118,000 miles, running fairly well and fuel-efficient but showing its age, while the government, using MY money, just subsidized other people who traded in their 1990s-era SUVs and soccer-mom vans (so-called "clunkers" which are demolished into scrap despite being saleable as used vehicles) with $3500 or $4500 each toward a new car.

If you pay taxes, YOU TOO are helping to pay for other people's home mortgages, other people's high wages/salaries/bonuses, and other people's new cars. As will your children after you. Wake up. Take a look at what Big O and Princess Pelosi and Dirty-Harry Reid plan to do with health care.

Obama is a classic, textbook-case, class-warfare, socialist demagogue
who won the election by promising to TAKE money away from all those mean, selfish, greedy, rich people and GIVE it to all ye huddled masses of down-and-out poor people in the form of cradle-to-grave welfare. Just let Big Brother choose everything you need and all will be well. Except that the line between the wealthy and the middle-class will become very, very fuzzy, meaning everyone's taxes will go up (except those on the bottom, who will RECEIVE rather than pay on April 15). The government seldom succeeds at managing anything efficiently, meaning productivity, innovation, and consumer choices will go down. Consider the irony of the big-government tax burden that will be borne by the next generations as compared to the American Revolutionary slogan "no taxation without representation."

I expect that there will be a political backlash of immense proportions against liberal Democrats when angry, independent-thinking Americans next get the chance to vote. Which is exactly why Brock-O is desperately trying to stack the deck by placing his ACORN thugs into census management and a "wise latina" who supports reverse discrimination on the Supreme Court, while removing whistle-blowing inspectors-general and seducing the worshipful major mass media like ABC.

Well, I have done it! I have read the entire text of proposed House Bill 3200: The Affordable Health Care Choices Act of 2009. I studied it with particular emphasis from my area of expertise, constitutional law. I was frankly concerned that parts of the proposed law that were being discussed might be unconstitutional.. What I found was far worse than what I had heard or expected.

To begin with, much of what has been said about the law and its implications is in fact true, despite what the Democrats and the media are saying. The law does provide for rationing of health care, particularly where senior citizens and other classes of citizens are involved, free health care for illegal immigrants, free abortion services, and probably forced participation in abortions by members of the medical profession.

The Bill will also eventually force private insurance companies out of business, and put everyone into a government run system. All decisions about personal health care will ultimately be made by federal bureaucrats, and most of them will not be health care professionals. Hospital admissions, payments to physicians, and allocations of necessary medical devices will be strictly controlled by the government.

However, as scary as all of that is, it just scratches the surface. In fact, I have concluded that this legislation really has no intention of providing affordable health care choices. Instead it is a convenient cover for the most massive transfer of power to the Executive Branch of government that has ever occurred, or even been contemplated If this law or a similar one is adopted, major portions of the Constitution of the United States will effectively have been destroyed.

The first thing to go will be the masterfully crafted balance of power between the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial branches of the U.S. Government. The Congress will be transferring to the Obama Administration authority in a number of different areas over the lives of the American people, and the businesses they own.

The irony is that the Congress doesn't have any authority to legislate in most of those areas to begin with! I defy anyone to read the text of the U.S. Constitution and find any authority granted to the members of Congress to regulate health care.

This legislation also provides for access, by the appointees of the Obama administration, of all of your personal healthcare direct violation of the specific provisions of the 4th Amendment to the Constitution information, your personal financial information, and the information of your employer, physician, and hospital. All of this is a protections against unreasonable searches and seizures. You can also forget about the right to privacy. That will have been legislated into oblivion regardless of what the 3rd and 4th Amendments may provide.

If you decide not to have healthcare insurance, or if you have private insurance that is not deemed acceptable to the Health Choices Administrator appointed by Obama, there will be a tax imposed on you. It is called a tax instead of a fine because of the intent to avoid application of the due process clause of the 5th Amendment . However, that doesn't work because since there is nothing in the law that allows you to contest or appeal the imposition of the tax, it is definitely depriving someone of property without the due process of law.

So, there are three of those pesky amendments that the far left hate so much, out the original ten in the Bill of Rights, that are effectively nullified by this law It doesn't stop there though.

The 9th Amendment that provides : The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people;

The 10th Amendment states : The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are preserved to the States respectively, or to the people. Under the provisions of this piece of Congressional handiwork neither the people nor the states are going to have any rights or powers at all in many areas that once were theirs to control.

I could write many more pages about this legislation, but I think you get the idea. This is not about health care; it is about seizing power and limiting rights. Article 6 of the Constitution requires the members of both houses of Congress to "be bound by oath or affirmation to support the Constitution." If I was a member of Congress I would not be able to vote for this legislation or anything like it, without feeling I was violating that sacred oath or affirmation. If I voted for it anyway, I would hope the American people would hold me accountable.

For those who might doubt the nature of this threat, I suggest they consult the source, the US Constitution, and Bill of Rights . There you can see exactly what we are about to have taken from us.

How NEW Medical Legislation Is Just Like OLD Housing Legislation

Several years ago, liberals in Congress successfully initiated a neo-socialist housing agenda whereby banks were coerced into lending large sums of money to risky borrowers so that even the poor and marginalized could share the "American dream" of home ownership. This was of course contrary to financial prudence, but banks could be punished in various ways if they did not comply; instead, they devised ways to toss these hot-potato mortgages up the chain to Fannie and Freddie, with greedy, smoke-and-mirrors financiers taking a fee at every stop along the way.

The result when this house of toxic cards blew over, of course, was massive collapse of the mortgage industry, the loan insurance industry, and the housing market, with severe ripple effects into other areas of the economy (primarily the availabilty of credit). And astronomically costly bailouts, to be paid for by you and me, our children, and our grandchildren, sooner or later; we can't depend on China to front us money forever.

NOW, these same social engineers have tinkered with medical insurance, and the President is about to sign a law which, among other things, requires health insurance companies as well as businesses to do several fiscally-unsound things that will result in higher-cost premiums for insurance customers (to cover the previously uninsurable) and higher taxes for taxpayers (to fund the "public" option, or glorified Medicare, promised when businesses and individuals can no longer afford to pay premiums for private insurance).

And it will further bloat various federal bureaucracies and agencies because, eventually, most hospitals and clinics become state-run, lowest-common-denominator facilities like the miserable VA hospital in which my father died.

This kind of meddling by career politicians in specialized entrepreurial and professional areas about which they know nothing always results in major unintended consequences. Maybe driving private insurance companies out of business, and driving citizens into a universal medical welfare system, IS the intent.

There are already many doctors who do not accept Medicare patients because the government reimbursement rates are too low for them to remain in business, and I've heard and read of several doctors who contemplate leaving their profession when the provisions of the new law take effect- partly because of the money, mostly because of the interference. Perhaps the brave new world of centrally-planned Obamacare will include arbitrarily requiring random bright (or not so bright) biology majors to become medical doctors, which happened in Soviet Russia a couple of generations ago. (And the Soviet state pressured these doctors into keeping people at work as long as possible, sick or not!)

If you need major medical treatments or procedures, try to get them taken care of in the next year or two, before they become personally unaffordable and publicly rationed. And guess what- CONGRESSMEN ARE PERSONALLY EXEMPT FROM APPLICATION OF THIS LAW! No waiting in line for months or years, with a low-priority-ranked condition, for a mediocre, second- or third-string physician, for them! They will keep their Cadillac-type Federal Employees Health Benefits Program, even as most private employer-plans disappear.

Maybe I should have taken that federal job at the Library of Congress after all...
