Mel a graham cracker crust would work.  I use shortbread but there's a trick to it... I use self-rising flour, and when it starts rising I mash it down with a fork.  For some reason it makes a really good shortbread crust.  Somehow it comes out tasting like Cap'n Crunch, don't ask me how.

For the filling, simple.  Boil the two cups of water for the jello, add jello packet, but do not add the cold water it calls for.  Chill until it is not warm, but not set up yet.  Add pie filling and cool whip, fold until mixed well, pour into cooled crust.

And yes, you can use fresh fruit instead of pie filling.  Probably what I'll do next time.  I've been experimenting with this, this is only the second time I made it.
