Exodus 12:14-20King James Version (KJV)

14 And this day shall be unto you for a memorial; and ye shall keep it a feast to the Lord throughout your generations; ye shall keep it a feast by an ordinance for ever.

15 Seven days shall ye eat unleavened bread; even the first day ye shall put away leaven out of your houses: for whosoever eateth leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that soul shall be cut off from Israel.

16 And in the first day there shall be an holy convocation, and in the seventh day there shall be an holy convocation to you; no manner of work shall be done in them, save that which every man must eat, that only may be done of you.

17 And ye shall observe the feast of unleavened bread; for in this selfsame day have I brought your armies out of the land of Egypt: therefore shall ye observe this day in your generations by an ordinance for ever.

18 In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at even, ye shall eat unleavened bread, until the one and twentieth day of the month at even.

19 Seven days shall there be no leaven found in your houses: for whosoever eateth that which is leavened, even that soul shall be cut off from the congregation of Israel, whether he be a stranger, or born in the land.

20 Ye shall eat nothing leavened; in all your habitations shall ye eat unleavened bread.

Exodus 12:14-20Revised Standard Version (RSV)

14 "This day shall be for you a memorial day, and you shall keep it as a feast to the Lord; throughout your generations you shall observe it as an ordinance for ever.  15 Seven days you shall eat unleavened bread; on the first day you shall put away leaven out of your houses, for if any one eats what is leavened, from the first day until the seventh day, that person shall be cut off from Israel.  16 On the first day you shall hold a holy assembly, and on the seventh day a holy assembly; no work shall be done on those days; but what every one must eat, that only may be prepared by you.  17 And you shall observe the feast of unleavened bread, for on this very day I brought your hosts out of the land of Egypt: therefore you shall observe this day, throughout your generations, as an ordinance for ever.  18 In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at evening, you shall eat unleavened bread, and so until the twenty-first day of the month at evening.  19 For seven days no leaven shall be found in your houses; for if any one eats what is leavened, that person shall be cut off from the congregation of Israel, whether he is a sojourner or a native of the land.  20 You shall eat nothing leavened; in all your dwellings you shall eat unleavened bread."

These are my thoughts, please share yours.

14 As Christians we remember the Passover thru Jesus Christ who was the Passover Lamb. The Passover was kept for many years and Jews still keep it today. It was the first event they started to celebrate and was the first God had commanded them to celebrate there are some events they celebrate that God did not command that they celebrate but they still celebrate all the days God commanded them to celebrate.

15 Yeast was a symbol for sin this was to remind them to remove sin from there lives so they could serve God. We should continually remove sin from our lives so we can serve God again our reminded is the cross not bread. Those who have sin just as those who ate this bread would be cut off, sinners will be cut off from God but there is hope in Christ who removes our sin from our lives.

16 There were not to work during this time only did what they needed to continue such as gather food from the field and prepare it and gather water they were not to hard labor during these days, this even included the slaves and livestock all were to rest.

17 This is the first day is Passover the seventh day is the feast of unleavened bread. Passover was to remind them of God sparing them from Egypt and the plagues the feast was to remind them that god brought them out of Egypt.

18 This is the days that are considered holy. This is what is known as Passover week.

19 This does not have a time frame just as hell has no time frame. They are not just cut off for a week or a month or even year but cut off completely those that sin in there lives are warned and have a time to get things right and if they do not they will be cut off from God.

20 This was not just for when they were in the Promised Land but was to be done any where they were. We are not to just obey God's commands when we are in the presence of other believers but should even obey Him even when we are all alone.
The Lord made a Way.
