What a beautiful day. I have spent it mowing and driving Rusty.

Same here.  Mowed, hauled off trash, worked the garden.  Mainly stayed right here all day yesterday.

Now I need to get to the church and prepare for service.

It flat came a storm here last night. Don't think I've saw winds that strong since we moved here 13 years ago. Doesn't seem to have done any damage, but you know it's blowing hard when it blows over a 3' tall flower pot filled with dirt and flowers.
Gotta make a quick dash to Conway in an hour or so. A friend gave me a two element 40 meter beam for ham radio and I have to go pick it up. A soon as I get that big joker up, it should make speaking with Jerm much easier..

We got that rain last night, but not much storm. Just rain. And guess who left his minivan windows rolled down last night! I had to put a towel in the seat before driving to church.

Speaking of church, we usually run about 91 to 97. Today the roll added up to 65. I had to make a visual head count to check that.  Yup, 65. I hate May. Everybody's out putting decorations on graves and gossiping about those who are no longer with us.

We had some crazy wind and stuff just blow through. The lights blinked a few times but we didn't lose power, thankfully.

We've been running 60 ish  but the last few weeks have been down to 40s...everyone doing something now that the kids are out of school.

We've had some bad storms the last few days. Every day I make sure to rebuke the pine trees around our driveway from smashing tiny car. The rain hasn't helped our roof situation because work shifts and storms have not lined up for anyone to get up there.

We've been having the same attendance situation as well. Yesterday Brandon actually came to church with me. We even went out after with 2 other couples. I was so excited when the husbands exchanged numbers to get together to hang out. I think if Brandon actually made friends (especially church friends) it would make a difference. Mostly he just wants to hang out down in his workshop by himself.

Shew. I've spent all day working in the yard and am not half done. Had to come in and cool off as I nearly got too hot. I've built one huge flowerbed and planted 4 rose bushes, still got two more to plant, another quickie flower bed to put together and then mow..
Walmart had rose bushes on sale for $8 a piece, thus the roses. And ten bags of mulch. I'm getting old. Used to I'd have spent that money elsewhere, but man I want my place to look nice..

And I totally get the hanging out in his workshop by himself. I kinda like that as well.

With a dog. A medium size dog, specifically. Gotta have a good ole dog to hang out in the shop with you.

When my uncle Fred is out in his shop welding and grinding and generally banging around, my dog will be somewhere in the near vicinity. I don't know why. The noise has to hurt his ears but he hangs around anyway, probably because he's just a people kind of dog.

Results from my nerve testing say confirmed carpal tunnel.
But still no results from MRI, or last weeks blood work and I still have to do the at-home sleep study this weekend.

But....they basically tell me to continue wearing the wrist brace. But I never wear it, it restricts everything I do. I wear KT tape and that helps a lot.
But I can't just continue on in life wearing KT tape.

She referred me to a hand specialist. Guess I'm gonna try to get in there and see what he says.

Lawd I'm out of money and patience. Sigh.

Messing up my entire 2017 summer plan of:
1) new job
2) stay in current apartment and renew lease, or move in concordance with the job.

Sigh. :sadbounce:

:hi: Been a long day. Was so glad to get off of work! I came home and put half a chicken, four porkchops, and four ears of buttered sweet corn in the smoker. It should be ready any minute. :fork:
And while it was cooking I continued my spring cleaning efforts. It is starting to look decent around here. Finally.

Don't tempt me.
Yard work and home improvement/maintenance is never ending. Sometimes I think it'd be better to have a landlord to deal with all that, but I remember that I don't particularly care for being told what I can and can't do, and being at someone else's whim.
Countdown: 7 more working days and then I get a vacation!  I'm NOT counting today, since I've conquered the worst part of it- getting out of bed. Incidentally, the alarm didn't wake me up.  The wife didn't wake me up. The kid didn't wake me up. The dogs didn't wake me up. What did wake me up this morning? Me. Snoring. Totally a Germ moment. :pound:

Lawn & maintenance are like dishes & laundry... Never ending.

 :reaction:

That's basically my day today, but I take exception to the word "overreaction" hahaha.. It's like Monday and Wednesday switched days. Awful.

It seems like the short weeks due to holidays are the worst, haha. Thankful for a job tho! I just pray I can make it. :)

Speaking of landlords, I'm withholding paying any toward rent until something is done with our roof. We've had a hole in our roof that leads into Brandon's closet for 8 days now. We won't discuss the smell if you open the door, but there is a distinct mold/mildew smell now starting in my bedroom as well. They haven't even tried to put a tarp up or anything with all the rain we have had. I understand they want a legit person to do it, but then it needs to get done.

Brandon has another toothache. Again.

Having a past that includes very bad teeth- I can tell you, all kidding aside, the BEST thing I ever did for myself was have them pulled and getting dentures. If his teeth are as bad as mine was, he will not believe that it is possible to smile without being ashamed and live without some pain every day. I should've done it 10 years before I did.

Lou is off this weekend again. Rare, and I don't know what we are going to do. Chey is staying tomorrow night with Grandma. We are kidless. Unfortunately, we are also money-less...:sadbounce:

And speaking of which- I kinda have a bit of a problem I don't know quite how to handle. I have a friend that has been real close to me over the years, although we are different religions. I love him like a brother, was his supervisor for years, and helped him get a good job at the capitol and spoke up for his wife to get the job working with me.
He and I have always talked frankly and he has asked me for financial advise in the past. I have shared with him my attempts to pay off debt and how I have kept a small "cushion" in the bank that I don't touch, for emergencies. Over the past few months he's asked several times to borrow money. I thought initially it was joking, as we have joked before, but I'm getting the idea that he's meaning it. And it's usually a couple, three hundred dollars he wants to borrow. He started this not long after we discussed the need for that cushion, and seems to think since I have that cushion I should be willing to let him use it too!
I have a hard and fast policy not to loan to friends in most situations because I would like for them to remain friends. I would rather give them what they need, if I can afford it. But I can't afford several hundred dollars.
I've played it off, joking with him. Told him it wasn't in the budget.... but I really worry that it's going to harm our friendship and I do not want it too.
Completely lost about how to say "No" without lying to him and saying I don't have the money,or otherwise hurt him.
I can't fathom doing that to a friend, but truthfully, I've never asked anyone other than my dad for a loan in my life..............

We have a policy that we have to both agree on a loan/gift before it happens. Can you use Lou as an excuse?

I hesitate to do that and make it seem like my wife is the bad guy. And I'm afraid that's what he would view her as. :sadbounce:

My best friend and his wife have a similar policy where they put $20 of every paycheck into a bank account reserved for fixing what breaks. In their experience something will break every year - the toilet, the water heater, a light fixture, SOMETHING will need repairing or replacing eventually - and when it does they'll be covered.

As for advice... I can't help you with that because I never have anybody asking me to borrow money. Around here people got family for that. And should a family member take advantage of that, family will set a freeloader straight about borrowing all the time.

I think if he was really a friend he wouldn't be asking. Especially if he knows it's your emergency funds.
I'd just say no with no explanation.
If you need an explanation, say the only funds you have can't be tied up in a loan, it's for a specific purpose.

It's really not his business.
