I know one thing.. just putting gas on the card can add up to very big bucks, haha. Mom does that with her card plus the occasional groceries, and it's not any small thing to cough at.

Nope, but it is something that you have to buy anyway, credit card or not. It's something that is a major part of one's budget.

WE were amazed when we were looking to rent a house how many of them run credit checks!

We were pretty foolish and had things happen out of our control and now our credit is bad.  We are slowly rebuilding it by putting gas on our credit card and paying it off each month.  I think there has only been one month that we left a little balance...but we paid the majority of it off.

Even when we got new insurance when we moved they asked about our credit.......
