I don't mind country, or gospel....but I draw the line at southern gospel. Just can't do it.
Certain genre's I just can't do....heavy metal/grunge/rock and southern gospel. lol

You'll be so sad when we all gather around the piano in heaven and sing Dottie Rambo songs.... :P

Dottie Rambo... that's a fun name I've never heard of before.

I'm going to make a Paleo lemon pound cake.  Paleo=100% healthy.  Yay!

You have never heard of Dottie Rambo? What kind of church do you attend? lol

I forget you grew up on the wrong side of the Jordan in the wilderness known as the North. lol

She wrote some beautiful songs as long as you don't have to listen to her sing them. One of my favorites is "The Holy Hills".

"This house of clay is but a prison
Bars of bone hold my soul
But the doors of clay are gonna burst wide open
When Jesus sets my spirit free
I'll take my flight like a mighty eagle
When the hills of home start calling me."

I'll admit that I actually liked hearing her sing some of them. It is sad that she started out in the truth and as she became somewhat famous in southern Gospel Circles, she and her husband backslid and wound up divorced....

My favorite song of hers, I think was "He looked Beyond my Faults( and saw my need)"  It touches me still, regardless who sings it.

Not only did I not grow up in the southern church but I didn't grow up in white church circles.  I am pretty much unfamiliar with any older white Christian singers unless I've heard them since I've been an adult.  Really, I only know some black artists.  I never have been the kind of person that remembers names well either... lol

Who are you?

;)   :P

Would she have been on Harvest Time radio?  Cause I listen to that on www.myhoperadio.com once in a while just cause I know those are some that gave their lives to the kingdom of God that I enjoy.

Dottie Rambo wrote something in the neighborhood of 2,000 songs.  You surely know some of them and just don't know it.  lol

How bout I Go To the Rock?  Black people sing that one.....lol
