Lately Noah has been taking off his diapers when they are poopy! UGH! Example: today I was using the restroom so I let him play with some toys in his play pen. When I got out I went to check on him and he had taken off his diaper. He was even still holding onto it and swinging it around! There was poop everywhere!!!!! All over the play pen, all over his toys, and all over him! This has happened twice now. The other time was when he woke up in the morning I went in to change him and give him his morning formula and there was poo everywhere and he was just playing with the diaper! I like to allow him to sleep in just a diaper sometimes because it gets hot in my house and he is more comfotable. But if he has clothes on this doesn't happen.
So any advice?!?!
Duct tape around the waist?
*cough*
The AP girl said her little boy smeared poop all over the place this morning...I guess he has the tendency to reach into his diaper and get it and smear it around...
Ew. These stories make me laugh (sheer relief it's not me cleaning poop). ;)
Zakary used to do that. I just had to make sure he was always wearing something to cover the diaper. The onesies that snap at the bottom are cool for a warm house and keep them from taking off the diaper. So that's what i would recommend.
oh my goodness ....my husband would die if he walked into something like that lol.
LOL. Thankfully my husband was actually very helpful to me! With this pregnancy my emotions are WAY WAY out of control. So when I walked in I just started crying! And David came to see what had happened. And he gave me a hug and said "It's ok". Then he told me to get Noah in the tub and he would clean up the play pen! I was very thankful for him today! :)*
Oh, wow! Yuck
WOW!! I didn't think he was old enough for doing things like that! Wow how time flies!!
I'm with Littlegal, put a onsie on that snaps at the crotch.
Neither of my girls did that, thankfully!! I cleaned up my share of pooh messes though.

I think you are right! I've had him in a onsie since that happened. And he seems just right temp. wise! And I'm pretty sure he doesn't know how to undo the snaps! lol
I was going to say a onesie also!! They even have tank type onesies with no sleeves if you feel he's still too warm. You might even consider a diaper cover... like rubber pants type of thing... I'm sure he couldn't take them off!
My son did that. I got clear wide tape and put the diaper tabs. There was no way her was going to get that off.
Oh goodness, I think I would've passed out. LOL!

Your day is coming. :up2: :hypocrite:
ugh, it amazes me the way that stuff can get smeared all over a room in a short amount of time
I've walked in on messes like that too... :o makes me wish life had a rewind button... I start pinching myself in hopes that its a nightmare and I'll wake up
:-\ its not... must clean and sanitize... :-?
lol
Ash never did that - but she did vomit ALL over her bedroom one time when I was looking after her - it was quite stressful for me ;) I was only 17 and it was one of my first times babysitting her all by myself... lol
Thankfully, nothing like this has ever happened to me!! The worst thing that has happened was when Noah had an allergic reaction to pineapple and was projectile vomiting all over me as we were getting ready to leave for church!! That was lovely!
Thank goodness All I ever had to do on a mess like that was shut the door and call for help! ALways had an aunt or two at the family gatherings that just *Loved* to come and help! :laughhard:

That's kinda what happened with Ash - instead it was all over her BED (and floor) when she was going to sleep - then I moved her to another bed (after bathing her AGAIN) while I was cleaning up the mess she'd made, and she vomited AGAIN all over THAT bed!!! That's when I started crying ;)
My worst wasn't poop - I was babysitting two little girls (2 and 5) - they were playing quietly in one room. I was cleaning. It should have been a clue. I went to check and they had dumped a whole bottle (large one at that) of powder all over the whole room - bed.. toys.. carpet. I was soooo not happy.
I'm not even going to go into what happened with anthany yesterday. I still want to throw up when i think about it. :tantrum:

My mom said when I was little she went to check on me and I was in the bathroom and had baby powder EVERYWHERE. She said I was covered head to toe and it was all over the toilet, floor everything. Apparently she wasn't too happy with me...lol
Oh and I forgot to mention I had the plunger in the toilet so water was everywhere too :biglaugh:
If I forget and leave the powder down, Kaitlynn dumps it out and "stomps" in it !!! LOL It creates white "clouds" everywhere!! thankfully I've always caught her before it gets too out of hand...... (the "stomping" sound has thankfully given her away)

That's what I was wondering. :freaky:
It wasn't his
oh, the dog's....ha
:o
um. Not the dogs either. He has a 3 year old brother that refuses to poop in the potty. Apparantly he dropped a pellet somewhere and Anthany found it. I found him with it squished in his hands and partly in his mouth. I told you guys it was nasty.
 :biglaugh: :pound: :biglaugh: :laughhard:...maybe he thought it was play-dough?
:yell:

ROFL - that's soooo funny, but SOOOO disgusting!!!
:yell:
YUK!
You're lucky the onsie worked, Jennie. We tried that with Ethan, but he put his hand up the bottom and took it off without unsnapping it..so then we tried putting pants/shorts on him under the onsie..well that worked for about a day. lol Then we tried tape, and he would pull on the diaper until he got it out from underneath the tape!! It was soo frustrating!
But, turns out, he was just ready to start potting training, PTL, I don't know what we would have done if he kept taking it off! So now that he knows he can use the potty whenever he wants, he has no problem keeping the diaper on in the meantime. I thought he was too young for it, but I guess when they're ready, they're ready! Haha.
that's about the age that Kaitlynn (my 4 year old) got interested in potty training. She was completely done by 22 mos.
I HATED poop messes, but thankfully neither of my girls were "into" taking their diapers off!!! The worst mess I had was the time Kaitlynn was in her bouncy saucer and had a diaper overload!! THAT was bad!!
sharon
You're lucky!! Ethan made about a dozen or so messes during a couple of months before he started either taking the diaper off after using the bathroom, or taking it off before and using the bathroom carefully where he didn't get dirty. lol I figured when he started doing that it was time to think about starting the potty training.

I've had that happen twice in Noah's jumperoo! YUK! I'd much rather clean it out of the play pen than the carpet! lol
Oh, ew! See, this is why I'm not sure if I want kids :tantrum: I love kids! But- I like to have them for a day, and then give them back to their parents!
Yeah....after they poop all over your house!
lol
JENNIE! I tried to call you twice today...go check my thread in General...I never could get you so I posted it for the GP public.
all of my horror stories on this subject are with abigail :biglaugh:
when we first put her in a toddler bed (around 13 months) we woke up one morning to an awful stench. we looked across the hall and saw her door open and heard her playing. she was "painting" her room with the contents of her diaper which had been removed :o it was on the bed, floor, several toys, walls, and herself :yell:
next best story.... when we went to puerto rico my father rented a van and took us on a tour around the island one day. after a couple of hours we discovered abigail (15mo. old) has problems with carsickness.... she puked all over herself in the carseat. we pulled over and took her out to try and clean her & the carseat up and change her clothes, then got back in and i held her in my lap (facing me). the smell was awful cuz we were on the freeway so there was no way to get water to rinse anything. by the time we got to a place with water (and clothing stores) she had puked 2 more times, on me! we were out of clothes for her, and i was down to wearing a souvenir t-shirt we had bought for larry (HUGE, and completely tacky with the skirt i had on).... had to carry her in with just a diaper on to buy a new outfit  she was fine the rest of the way back to the condo, but we stayed off the freeway and went through towns. it took 3 people and an hour or so to clean up the carseat and van.
One day I was watching my youth leaders 4 yr old daughter and she starts screaming I need a soda now! It was almost time for her to go to bed so I was like no you can't have a soda. She suddenly starts vomiting all over her self and the kitchen and it was Nasty. I had to give her a bath to get the vomit chunks outta her hair. IT was a big smelly mess. She didn't have any extra cloths so I gave her a t-shirt that fitted her like a dress. it was bad. It's because of that experiance I don't think being a mom would be very fun.
I was watching my cousin and he was 2 1/2. He was also being potty trained. He was sick and threw up all over himself and the bed at Nap time. I got him in the tub, washed the sheets, and was putting fresh sheets on the bed when he got loose and went into the kitchen and peed on the floor, he came back in the bedroom and announced "Pee pee in da kitchen" and started crying, I put him BACK in the tub, and rinsed him off, Mopped the kitchen, and put him back down for his nap. Where he promply threw up all over the clean bed again....had to start over with the bed, and yet ANOTHER bath....that was a LONG day.
