A pox/smite on Cheesehead for his snide comment in the now closed sharing thread.. :pound:
And good day, all. Got up this morning and took one of my spiritual heros, Sis Hattie, car shopping. Seems her 2004 Civic was totalled Tuesday when a deer "with a hatrack on its head" jumped out in front of her and proceeded to demolish her car.
She'd been planning on buying a new car anyway, but kinda had her plans accelerated. She told me she wanted me to go with her, since she figured a car salesman would look at a 70 year old widow lady much the same way a lion would a steak in regards to her pocketbook.. After testdriving a couple of cars, one of which being the new 2015 Chrysler 200 (a car that I will look at should Lou require a car) she bought a 2014 Honda Accord. We managed to get what I felt was a decent deal on it, although I was kind of handicapped on jewing them by Sis Hattie's adult grandson, who wanted to go along. Decent guy, but completely destroyed my chances of talking them into deeper discounts than they gave....
Now I'm trying to decide how I will squander the rest of my Saturday. :p

Dad is off the ventilator as of Friday morning, and was placed in a regular room today. Monday they will make a decision on if to put a pacemaker like thing in his heart or not. His heart wals are paper thin they said and one more episode just half the severity of this last one will defienitly take him out next time.

Went garage sale-ing this morning. Came away with two vintage tennis racquets at an Estate sale.

Also just made the best shepherds pie ever.  :fork:

I too went to a garage sale.  Made a good deal on a guitar.  Old brand I have never heard of, found out later it was a 1974 guitar.  In today's money it would have sold for $600+new! I bought it for a few dollars and it was in new condition.

I really don't.  I just happen to have a ever expanding collection of guitars.  I think it's high time I learn to play.

If it wouldn't be taken wrong, I'd make the observation that it must run in the family, since you've mentioned sleeping in the floor yourself...
Went to work, then to church. Bro Papa preached. Came home. :smirk:

 Praying, Mel..
Got parts in for the stinkin' Lincoln today. The UPS guy saw my Corvette and asked about it, said his cousin wants one bad...I priced it to him, and he said they'd be back to look at it. Maybe it'll sell. If it does, I'll take Lou on a weekend getaway, buy a ham radio item I want, and squirrel back a grand or so into the "pay off debt" fund.  I doubt they'll even show back up, though. I'm beginning to thing I will own this particular Corvette for a lifetime. Why I couldn't have had this problem with the '93 Corvette I loved, I don't understand. That one sold the minute I put it up for sale. :sadbounce:

Pretty sure I'm going to drop the French class. I'm failing - miserably. Plus I'm changing universities anyway, and the one I'm thinking of applying/transferring to doesn't require a language credit anyway. Lord this process is stressing me out - community college was so much easier.  :tearhair:

I'm hungry. I haven't had any breakfast, nor do I have a lunch.  :noo:

I destroyed two years of high school French and can't remember more than two words- "oui" and "non". I can't imagine college french.Stupid furriners.  They should orta speak English gooder like we'uns. :ugly:
And in sharing, the guy came out and looked at the 'vette. Spent maybe five minutes here, telling me how good the price was and how good the car was, then said he'd have to speak with his buddy. If he comes back and buys, I shall be surprised, but we will see.
Lou's gone to a school meeting. I have disciplined my offspring, who has apparently decided school isn't important and that she will do things HER way. I suspect she now sees that her way is a bit more painful than the school's way. Oh, and I'm studying the last couple of chapters of Galatians in preperations for Bible Study tomorrow. Lord, I pray that He gives me the words to say and insight that is needed...

I wish I didn't exist.  It would have been great if I hadn't been born and didn't have to endure this life here.

But, it's too late to consider that....  *sigh*  I still think about it a lot though.

I don't know if I'm clinically depressed or mental or what.

I'm just so weary with everyone's terrible afflictions and sufferings.

Made it through the day...then went to church to teach a bible study. Wound up meddling before starting the bible study, and preaching something entirely different, with good results from the church. Felt delivered.

And in other news/questions- Anybody know how Mel and her family, specifically her dad, is doing?

Yeah, I know. I need to stop procrastinating and go do it, but truthfully I don't know that I can justify the expense for what basically would be a vanity. I'm too far into my police career to change now, and the jobs that I would want mostly don't require a degree. It's more of a pride desire for me, as no one in my family has a degree.

Meh. Vanity shmanity. There are people far older then you (and that's saying something haha), who have gone back to school, and continue doing so, because they just wanted to accomplish what they couldn't at a younger age. I'm quite sure it's a pride thing for them too. But regardless - they're doing it despite the financial part.

You are right. I'm just kinda caught up in trying to get us somewhat debtfree and I'm looking pretty hard at a Bible college sort of thing called Purpose Institute right now. Not college credits or accredited, but some very good classes and is sanctioned by the UPC...Done at home with just a weekend a month. Depending on how things go on the job front after January, I may do something then.
And in sharing- got half of the Lincoln's front end job done. Will do the other half tomorrow evening....

Yea I know what Purpose Institute is. :)

Also you know Texas Bible College is about to start (or has already) offering online classes. My Pastor is the new president, so I'm in the know. Ha

And debt well. I think if any debt is "ok" it's schooling debt. IMO.
I'm about to be super in debt. Savannah College of Art & Design ain't cheap. Lawd.

Argh!! Gotta bake something for tonight's fall festival. Not what I wanted to do, but Lou is at work, so I'm stuck with it. Figured a couple of buttermilk pies and a koolaid pie would work. I grabbed the wrong stinkin' bag of flour when I was making the buttermilk pies and they didn't rise. Now I've gotta go all the way to town for more buttermilk. Stinking things. This is so not my day. :pound: :pound:

We had some friends staying at Petit Jean last night. (I saw on FB) They're heading to Branson, I think for a belated honeymoon.

Wish Lou and I could sneak off to Branson. But sadly, work and money says no. :sadbounce: And in sharing I hit a skunk on the way home. It would've been tragic- having to smell that scent for days- had I not been driving Lou's car. Now, from my perspective, it is merely unfortunant. :hypocrite:  She, however, is not happy. But I had no where to go. It's not like I chased it -much.

So THAT'S where all this heavy weather came from!  We about got flooded out here this afternoon.  Tornado was spotted about five miles out of town.  Town tornado siren kept going off here and there over about an hour and a quarter.

TAKE THIS WEATHER BACK BOBBY!  We don't want it!   :noo:

And no, I shall not take that horrible weather back. Although it didn't damage anything that I could see here. And totally off the subject- after having major front end work done on a Lincoln, having it aligned is a must. Thing drove like a pig on ice coming home. It's got all new parts, though, so after a $50 front end alignment, it should be good for another 100k miles or so.

Just now getting to post this...

*******

It's late Monday night...almost midnight. I've been to sleep some, but now I'm awake cause MawMaw accidentally made some coffee and I smelled it and had to get up for a cup...

The pot was left on this evening when her aunts were here for a visit, and she went to prepare the pot for tomorrow morning, and when she poured the water in and replaced the pot, it went ahead and made a pot that was meant for tomorrow...so we drank it tonight...can't let it go to waste. So now I'm up.

Don't have WiFi here at MawMaws, so I'm writing this in hopes to get by the window after it's done and pick up the small signal I get from my friends house, two doors down. Might not have any luck tonight though, as it has been storming and we are under tornado warnings.

Anywho...my sharing is that Dad is fine. Well, fine for how he usually is. We are upset a bit cause he refused to go to rehab cause the rehab he usually goes to after surgeries and whatnot is full and so he would have had to go to a different one, one that is also a nursing home and he just refuses to go cause of that. So now, he is at home, and mom has to take care of him and she really isn't able to. But he SAYS he isn't in any need of anyone's care, he will do it himself.

So instead of doing whatever he needs to do, he has been laying in the bed for the last four days since he's been home.

I CANNOT and WILL NOT go over there and do anything for him. I was almost convinced that the reason things worked out for me to come home when I did was cause he was either gonna die and I needed to take care of Mom, or that he would need more care after this episode and I would have to help him some. I was willing to do either. But not now.

Since his near death experience, we were sure he would have a different outlook on life. No such luck. After he basically died three times, and was near death several other times, he came out of it in his right mind and meaner than ever. He wanted me to help him this past Wednesday, his check hit the bank and he needed the bills paid.

No problem. I had gone around with him countless times before so I knew what was what. I did that Wednesday, only to get back to the hospital, receipts in hand and a list of every penny I had spent, and somehow someway he was convinced that I had "jipped him" out of money. He refused to look at the receipts, he refused to add up the money. He refused to do anything but yell and accuse me of jipping him. His words. I told him if he was so convinced, SHOW ME what he was talking about! No money was missing, what did he mean? Look at the totals, look at the figures, EVERY CENT was accounted for. But he wouldn't even look and see. He just was sure I took him for some money. :eyeroll:

I'm DONE.

And I told him so. If he thinks I would rob him, but there isn't any money missing, and he wants my help but treats me this way, I'm DONE. No more. If the bills go unpaid, not my problem. I won't be accused of stuff when all I've done is try to help and be a good daughter. I did this to give him another chance and he blew it. He blew it WIDE OPEN. And I'm not messing with it anymore.

I feel for my Mother. I know I have had issues with her, but in all her selfishness and addictions, she hasn't ever treated me as bad as he has. And now, in her disabled state, she is a lot more kind and grateful for any help she gets. She never makes me feel like he does or accuses me of things. She does act like she genuinely loves me, in her own way, and I haven't felt that from dad in years, even after all I've done for him in his illnesses.

*SIGH*

Idk what to do.

And I guess I don't have much else to say.

I'm doing fine. I have been home a month now and seriously, in some ways I feel like I never left. Church is awesome. Our new Pastor is great! There is still a huge void that is present when I'm alone at church...like I can feel that Bro Ramsey is gone. But during church when it's hoppin and Jesus is moving, it's almost like I can expect Bro Ramsey to walk up on the platform at any time. It's crazy how I feel him there sometimes and other times I feel his absence. Greatly in both cases.

Work is good except I don't think I will be getting a full time position like I need at Winn Dixie, every time is try to talk to the manager, he puts me off for another time, so I'm beginning to think he doesn't want me for that position.

I'm going to try applying at the Hospital in Pascagoula where I used to work. They hire FT. And the grocery deli in Goula also hires FT. And that's where I want to be anyway. Living here in Ocean Springs is too far...except...

....my babies who I missed dearly, Olivia and Kira...I am two doors down from their house and I see them nearly every day. Tomorrow I am keeping Kira all day and picking up Liv from school in the afternoon. They are literally the highlight of my life.

And I guess that's all. Any questions?

Oh...and I bring home day old donuts and out of date cheese nearly every day...I think of y'all. ;)

Of course you think of us with Cheese and Donuts. :hypocrite: And Jenn, I may be out of date..but that don't necessarily mean old. :pound:

And in sharing today- I am grateful for God's protecting hand- and a tad miffed at my neighbor on the west side of my house. I've been all kinds of good hubby today- came home and got dinner on for us, then decided to mow the front lawn quickly. Lou had said the neighbor was cutting on a tree on the property line, and the chainsaw noise was obvious, but it appeared that he was simply trimming the lower branches of a 35' tall Cedar tree on the property line, so I continued mowing. Suddenly, just as I am approaching the side of the lawn nearest the tree, I look up to find the tree falling straight AT ME!  :o I got stopped just in time. Had I not been paying attention or had I been 3 seconds faster, I'd have been worm food. Or at least had a major headache.
He came around like it was no big deal that he'd nearly creamed me with nary a yelled warning. Nearly got my power line too- if the tree had been 5 foot taller, that would've been ripped down. " Ha, ha, that was a mess. I thought it'd fall the other way. Ha,ha." Moron. Now I have a large Cedar blocking my shop drive and side yard. And I have no working chainsaw, so I'm at the mercy of Senor Moron as to when it will be moved. And his other projects appear to declare that he is a member of Procrastinators Annonymus- or would be if he hadn't put off going to their meetings. :pound:
In true Cheese-like fashion, all I can say is- Moron.  :pound:

Dad had laid down on the bed with his feet up this morning, coughed and said something popped in his side and he was in pain....thinking maybe a rib broke or something.....  He had been complaining of some pain in the side area lately and scaring us all...  Now, still don't know if that was directly related to this, or not...I hope so...rather than some other bad internal thing or what have you...  But anyhow, ended up going in the chiropractor this evening when he could get in, and his rib is indeed broke.

I did poop route today, that's about it.  Took a catnap when I got back before taking him to the chiro.

Eating a salad.

Lands.

Bobby you might hitch your truck to the tree with a logging chain and tow it right across his driveway. I bet then he would magically find the time to get it taken care of.

The tree is still down- but that is the least of my worries now. I am so thankful for God's hand of protection today. I received a call around noon today from a brother you might remember from his brief time here on GP- "Snoop". He informed me that while he knew I couldn't talk, he just wanted to let me know that he'd been burdened to pray for me today and had been doing so all day. I thanked him, but really didn't know why- until approximately 3 pm.
We got off of work at around 2:45 and got into my friend and carpool partners '95 Buick LeSabre, which we call the Granny Car. We were cruising down the interstate talking when a car jets onto the interstate from an on ramp, nearly cutting us off. My partner swerved- apparently into the opposite lane. A loaded Semi truck hit us on the left rear at between 50 and 60 mph. The impact spun the car around, where the semi hit us again, slamming into the driver's side. The whole car went up on the passenger side wheels, and was well on the way to rolling over. All I could do was repeat  "Jesus,Jesus" over and over. My partner steered into the skid and God kept the car from rolling. We came to a stop facing the opposite way and discovered that during the wild ride, we had also struck another vehicle and didn't even know it.
All of us walked away from the accident with no major injuries. My left shoulder and neck hurt, and I'm sure I have whiplash. My partner has an imprint of the brake pedal on his foot and may have a broken or badly sprained ankle. The old beat up car had the right front tire changed and was able to drive home, with every panel beat up, which amazed me.
Truthfully, it was a miracle. I've worked every kind of accident known to man as a police officer, and I cannot see a way that that combination of events would not have ended in a roll over and a fatality.
I tell you, between the tree yesterday and the semi today, I'm scared to get out of bed tomorrow. Of course, I guess if tomorrow is the end, I'll probably have a plane crash into the house. :smirk2:

I found them because they are all aching. And being a weenie, I awoke and realized that 1) they had 5 other officers schedule other than my friend and I, 2) he was calling in and 3) I have 2 months sick time built up that I never use so I called in and am becoming well acquanted with the heating pad.

Good grief Roscoe!! I had something similar like that happen. I had left work one day, and had a voice mail from a friend saying she didn't know why but felt to pray for me, and then I proceeded to have a wreck soon thereafter. I think that's when I totaled my blue nissian. I was okay though - sans the air bag burn on my arms.

Here at work. Super super tired.

I managed to make myself motivate today and go to town, then came home and drug off part of a tree that had fallen in last weeks storm. My moron of a neighbor managed to get the fallen cedar tree moved sometime after I left the house around noon and before I got back at 2pm, I was pleased to see. Shoulder is still sore, but not throbbing like it was...

I'm tired. Over fall break we went to North Myrtle for vacation with my family. More precisely my mom since my dad and sister didn't come to town until the night before we had to leave. Drove home yesterday, drove to church last night, drove all day in the rain at work, took a 3 hour nap, drove to fall conference and back tonight. It was one of those nights where I had 50 other things to do but I just kinda dropped everything and went anyway. Now I know why I did. Bro Toney had a message for me.

Work tomorrow then back for the second nigh of conference tomorrow. I had to drop my probability and statistics course so it opened me up to work more. Also if anyone thinks of it, please be praying for me concerning my major at school. It was dropped in my head while on vacation that I may need to look into doing something else career wise.

I'm glad everyone is ok though despite crazy parents, storms, and the woe-full life of Roscoe.

Did poop this morning.  Then was running errands and mom called that they had took granny to the hospital.  So went there till this evening, finished errands then finally, and came home.

Yesterday she was out of her head all day, had been having more mild issues of that the last few days, but yesterday was bad.  And then hadn't hardly ate or drank since yesterday sometime.

All of her tests and stuff they ran were basically good and normal looking.  Her heart was in afib off and on was about the only oddball thing.  Her temp had been 101 when they took her in, but my cousin checked it later on there in the ER still and it was 98.  So they brought her back home, didn't do anything.  She was tired and weak acting, but was in her right mind.  Acted better by the end of the ordeal than at the beginning I think.

That ER was a madhouse....they were constantly bringing people in on the ambulance, and then by the end of the evening the waiting room was full of people sitting out there too.

I probably have diptheria, ebola, and who knows what from being in there....I hate being inside a hospital.

And something is wrong with me, I couldn't, and can't for absolute sure yet, tell if it was maybe a stomach thing with reflux or if it's my ribs or what....  Hurts from the middle of my back to the top of my head.....when I burp....I feel air pressure stabbing in me.  But it also hurts if I move, if I breathe....etc.  Just varying.

Been over and grandma's.  She's really just had a couple sips of water today.  Nibbled at a piece of cheese but didn't actually eat it I don't guess.  Out of her head a lot.  If she doesn't change on wanting to eat and drink she won't be able to last very long.  I'd like her to live another 50 years, but at 99, that's not going to happen here on this earth.  *sigh*

Computer problem?

*Lynx perks up.

Bobby did you try that Linux disk I left you?  It can be used as an emergency backup. You don't have to install it to use it y'know, the whole show can run from the disk.

Also, with most computers these days the whole Windows system can be reinstalled to factory-fresh by a backup that is already on your computer.  All you have to do is hit a few buttons to get it reinstalled.  Or call a nerd to tell you what buttons to hit...

Yeah, that's what I was thinking.  If it will boot, the hard drive is probably not dying.  If I were a betting man I'd bet my next paycheck it's a software problem, not a hardware one.

Of course if it IS the hard drive... there's always Linux-on-a-stick.  Stick a bootable flash drive in the computer and keep on running.

Home from church and such.  Eating a salad.

Here at the homestead, aka same as nursing home.  Mom said dad had an awful coughing spell earlier.  Hope that's out of his system for now.  Her and my sister are going to granny's for a little bit since I'm back home.

*sigh*

Poor poor people.  Lord help us Jesus.

Bro Toney had a message for me.

Also if anyone thinks of it, please be praying for me concerning my major at school. It was dropped in my head while on vacation that I may need to look into doing something else career wise.

As in Jimmy Toney? And what is your major now?

That would be the one! He was awesome! I had no clue who he was but one of my friends informed me he climbed a giant cross at NAYC a couple years ago.

I'm currently a Sociology major with an Anthropology minor. Keeping Sociology, but considering a different department to double major with.

I got super stressed the last few days about school, finances, my job, etc. Then sure enough if Bro Ketron didn't preach this morning about getting to the other side through the storm. Smacked me right in the head. Sheesh.

Now to do some homework and go do laundry.

The possibilities are many, and dazzling in variety.

1. Eat it.

2. Give it to me.

3. Rub it all over someone's car as a halloween prank.

4. Feed it to the neighbor's dog or cat, and have an instant friend for life.

5. Shot-putt it into the neighbor's yard and wait for him to hit it with the lawnmower.

6. Put it on your car motor, let it melt into the iron and have a cheesy car every time the motor warms up.  (Okay, so that was a cheesy suggestion... and this was a cheesy joke.)

7. Leave it in the fridge until it gets so moldy that it comes to life and starts snapping at you when you reach for something in the fridge.

There are many other possibilities, but these are the most feasible.

Well, grandma rallied back around to eating and drinking yesterday again....  But she's out of her head still.  She will say something that's totally accurate and related to something sensible, and then say something off the wall and unrelated.

I went over there last night and figured I wouldn't stay too long.  But I stayed all night.  My cousin/aunt (one person...she's my cousin on my dad's side, and she married my uncle on mom's side) has been staying overnight....and she did, but she zonked out dead asleep, and I stayed and tried to convince and corral granny as best I could.  The fact that someone has been staying with her when she's not used to having anyone there, has her convinced that she is not at home, and she is wanting to go home.  Finally got her to lay in bed at 3 something, but I don't think she slept for a second all night.  I dozed some later on off and on.  Woke this morning to find her already up and in the bathroom by herself with no walker or anything....ugh.

I could write three books about the things she talked about all night.  Bless her heart.  I'm thankful she came back around to eating and stuff.  Now if her mind would come to her enough to at least comprehend that she is home and that sort of thing.

I did poop and a few errands.  I'm back home now eating a bean bowl and then I may collapse.

And in sharing, I've done nearly nothing productive today. And for dinner I had a chickenloaf sandwich. I did think of mini-ster and his love for that lunchmeat whilst enjoying it too. :hypocrite:

She's a bad one to have crazy effects from meds and such... But she's not been on too much stuff....and in the last several days hadn't been on anything, she wouldn't take anything.  Yesterday was the first time she took her normal blood pressure and heart pill in several days.

I still haven't collapsed.  But it's coming.

After the day I had, I shoulda been hugged, not smitten. Suffice it to say that I was ready to burn things, shoot things and otherwise destroy things before retreating to a mountain cave. Beginning with Insurance companies, and ending with coworkers, with a liberal side of Car company designers as well. But after a good minister friend talked me down and managed to point me in the direction I needed turned in, I think I might have it solved. Maybe. I've at least managed to lay the lighter down for now..

Quiet day. Dropped Chey off at school, went by the library, grocery, and butcher, then picked Chey back up. Came home and drove the Corvette to town, then back to get the truck and lawnmower and cut the church lawn, hopefully for the last time this year. Now I'm vegging while Lou and Chey are at the school ballgame. Chey is "cheerleading". I immediately had visions of cheerleaders from my high school and blew a gasket saying no until I was shown that their "Cheerleading" is done in a long skirt and there's no gymnastics involved. Still apprehensive about this possibly setting me up for a battle royal in a few years...we shall see.

Yeah, I've never saw the whole big wedding event if the couple's been living together. Kinda like building a barn for the horse AFTER it's died. :smirk2:

And in sharing- Chey stayed with a friend last night and today, so I had a "me" day. Went to a fly in/car show at the local airport and did something I never thought I'd do. A friend and fellow cop is fortunate enough to own his own plane, and offered me a ride. First time ever to fly. I was petrified until we were off the ground. Then it was kinda surreal, floating around up there. Everything looks different from that vantage point too. We flew over my house, too. I'd left the bright orange BadBoy lawnmower on the trailer next to the shed- and from 1500 to 2000 feet, you could see the bright orange.
The wildest part for me though, was it felt like we were just sitting still in the air, not really moving. The pilot told me we were travelling at the equivalent of 140 mph.  :o He said "Do that in your Corvette."  :laughhard: It was really cool. I can now see Mini's fascination with airplanes, and should I become a multimillionaire by the death of an unknown relative or by any other means, I might take up a new hobby. :P

I also have only flown once, in a small jet going from Houston to Nashville.  As I am prone to motion sickness when I'm riding in a car and not driving, my worst fear was I would get airsick.  But no such bad luck.  It was kind of boring really.  But it only took an hour to fly the same distance that takes more than 12 hours to drive, so an hour of boredom is better than the alternative.

Bobby just be glad you didn't have the same experience one guy had.  He was an elderly mechanic at a small airfield, and word got out that although he had worked there for years he had never been off the ground. So a pilot offered to take him up for a flight.  He didn't seem to happy about being off the ground for the first time, just sat there grimly through the whole flight.  But when they got back on the ground and he got out of the plane he shook the pilot's hand and said, "I thank you for both of those flights."  The pilot said, "Huh?  We only took one flight."  The mechanic said, "No, I counted two.  My first one and my last one."

I flew back and forth to Texas a handful of times back in the Dubya days.  It wouldn't be bad if I wasn't afraid I was going to fall out of the sky.  But that just freaks me out.

I heard someone down there in TX at church make a remark about some old preacher or somebody that had never flown and had made the statement that he would actually like to take an airplane ride sometime before he took a plain air ride.

Went to church, came home, eating a bean bowl.

The afflicted and infirm are still as such.

Awesome church today. Really quite wonderful.

As far as living together, getting hitched and the like, Brandon and I will be getting married at the county clerks office sometime in November. I will be moving to my parents in December. Come January me and my betrothed will be looking for our own place. I'm fed up with wedding planning [it makes me break out in hives just thinking about it], we cannot find a pastor who will marry us, I refuse to live with him until we are married, and I cannot live at his house with him and his dad again. So I know it's kinda weird, but would you expect anything else from me? I'll let yall know when all that is set in motion.

Though facebook could limp on for another decade or more... I think there are still people on livejournal somewhere.

I drank an entire half gallon of orange juice yesterday between 5pm and 8pm and surprisingly, I didn't have and adverse effects because of it. I expected severe heartburn and multiple potty trips overnight. But nothing out of the norm for me.

I needed a boost of C, and I was craving OJ. And since I had already eaten a nice big lunch, I wasn't hungry, so I just drank juice and ate a small container of GE Cheese.

That's my share. :bigcheese:

My reason for doing so also was cause the whole stinkin' house I live with is SICK! Everyone I know is sniffling and sneezing, we got bronchitis and pheumonia floating around, colds, allergies, and I REFUSE!!! to get sick!

I was sniffin' and sneezin' last week so I bought some NyQuil and dosed up a few nights to pre-fight it off, and now I'm gonna try to stay away from these sick folks and eat/drink vitamin rich stuff.

Came home to be reminded that leaving a wife at home can be good....and bad. Good- the bedroom is painted. Bad- she was motivated and painted the lower half of the bathroom walls and trim too- a brownish green. Good- The yard is spotless. Bad- She piled up everything she thought was trash in the trailer of my truck. Good- that's where it goes. Bad- It has to be separated, metal going to the scrap yard and trash to the dump. And, I saw a pair of bed railings that go to an antique bed I have in storage that are unobtainable, so 'll have to retrieve them and put the back where I had them.
Lord. It's more work for me to fix her "help" than it is for me to just do it myself- but she wants it done NOW. :pound: And me pointing this out has led me to seek a corner of the housetop this evening, as opposed to my wide house.... (Scripture reference for those who recognize it)

I just really wanted to sleep all day today. There is just something about this dorm room that makes me lazy. lol. Actually it could be the MOLD i found growing in the corner of my room. I live in one of the oldest buildings on campus and we have a moisture issue. Everything in my room always feels damps. The schools solution was to unseal all our windows so we could open them. My side of the building apparently still has a mold issue though. YUCK!! I'm still moving to my parents in December. I pay too much for on campus housing to deal with this mess and these morons.

Think I'm going to head to the gym early, do some homework, etc. I'm off today and only have 1 class this afternoon.

When I worked at IU there were some dorms that had horrid mold issues....one in particular was horrendous.  It was on everything...ceilings, walls, furnishings.  It's a 14 story building and the higher floors weren't as bad, but it progressively worsened the lower you went.  The place was awful, I don't know how anybody stood to live in it.  It has since been fully remodeled.

Anyhoo....

Thank you, yes.  This evening she had got to the point where they had took her in to the hospice house, but she wasn't there long at all until she died.  I was working, and figured I would go see her after I finished....she was at the point she wasn't responsive I guess though.  Part of me wishes I had went ahead and left work and went...but part of me didn't want to see her die though.  I had seen her Sunday night last.  I didn't go over there yesterday.

My aunt, cousin and his wife, uncle and aunt/cousin (yes, that's one person, she's both things lol), and cousin were there with her.

Dad acts punier than normal tonight.  My sister said maybe it's stress related stuff eating at him.  Pray for him, Lord.

Thanks, folks.

Been tending fowl.  Now I'm eating a salad.  We go to make funeral arrangements this afternoon.  I talked to Bro. Smith this morning about preaching her funeral and have contact Bro. Roberts about seeing if he can help with the music.  The only specific thing that I know of that Grandma had actually requested in regard to her funeral was that several years ago at a fellowship meeting, after service she had asked Bro. Roberts little girl (who's like 13 now) to sing the song she and her dad had sung that night, at her funeral - Never Been This Homesick Before.

That had kind of become her favorite song over the last several years.  She would ask me to sing it at church every whipstitch too.  So hopefully the Roberts will be able to do it, I just have to let him know the details, and hopefully he can make it.  At any rate, that song is a must, regardless of who sings it.  Though thinking about it makes me want to squall.  lol

For my funeral I only have one song they simply must sing.  "Goodbye world, goodbye."  And get some people to sing it that sound like they're actually looking forward to the trip.

Just wanted to hop on real quick before I pack up. Spent 5 hours in the ER with Brandon's dad. They are admitting him and I'm going back to stay with him and Brandon. No clue about wifi there. Something to do with his potassium, acid eating the lining of his stomach, and inflammation. Also some sort of blockage. Prayers appreciated.

Wish I were closer, Seth, just so I could drop by and pay my respects to a saint that was faithful that long. Will be praying for you and the family at any rate.
I, too, love that song. But at any going away celebration for me- and trust me, for some of the folks that know me, it will be a celebration, maybe a party that I'm gone- it will be required for them to play the incomparable Kenny Hinson and "Call Me Gone". That, and "Address Change Notification", and "He's having the Time of my Life" and a good version of my old favorite, Amazing Grace".
I have actually thought of writing out the sermon and obituary for my own funeral, minus the dates of course, and maybe even preach it myself on video. Then I can have in my will that it must be done just as I specified. That way I can preach to all those sinners that I've wanted to for years, but who I was afraid of offending for one reason or another. This is an idea that Kim is majorly opposed to, by the way.

I like that idea!! Lol

And in old people/sickness news...

Dad is back to shortness of breath and can't get in a position to even breathe unless he is flat on his back and Mom said even then it is very labored. But he won't let her take him to the hospital or call the ambulance. She said it's pretty bad, but he won't go cause he is afraid they will intabate him again, and he doesn't want that. So we don't know what is gonna happen now. He's in bad shape.

Meanwhile, MawMaw is better and she called Mom to check on stuff too, and mom told her, (but never told me, mind you) that Dad went to Dialysis and fell out of the truck and hurt his only leg he has. :frustrated: so now he's injured too, but mom didn't feel the need to tell us. And again, he won't go to the dr or ER.

Just being real, but we also may be having a funeral soon. :smirk2:

Many are the afflictions of the righteous.

And the unrighteous.

And everybody in between.

So it seems....everybody every where is ailing in some form or another.

Went and cleaned at church....still need to do the bathrooms, but got everything else went over to the extent I was going to.  It looks better.

If I have anybody around that even cares to participate in putting me away, should I go to the grave some day, a good peppy church service would suit me as a funeral.....  But I don't know if anybody would even come to one for me. lol

Anyhoo.

So, I come home last night and MawMaw had called mom, and Mom told her that yesterday she wrecked the truck. Rammed into the back of someone. Claimed the road was wet and the brakes failed. SMH.

Thing is, I called Mom last night on the way home from work and she of course mentioned nothing of this. Why does she feel she has to keep all these things from me?

Anyhow...I'm headed for the shower and work this morning. Got morning shift today! Yay! Only downside is, I had night shift last night and I'm tired.

As soon as Brandon's mom found out I was staying she decided to stay too.  So I went to stay at my parents and came back this morning. It was a light tan color, pretty much what I wanted for the ham shack, so I bought it. I've got 2 and a half of the walls painted, it already look tons better than that putrid mint green.

Much work done today... Got the rest of the ham shack painted, another workbench built and stained, and my two large maps hung back on the walls and pseudo-framed with stained 1x2s. Looks decent....but tomorrow I have to polyurethane the new bench, build a cabinet, mount a heater on the wall, and get the mess all straightened back up. But- when I'm done, I'll have the ham shack just like I want it, and it should be for good.

Went to a harvestfest type get-together at a good friends house, then came back home. It is bordering on downright cold out...

Measuring, cutting, test fitting, staining, and installing, with a side of checking on the kiddoes and running the neighborhood kids off. Nephew Miles is here today...he's called me Daddy all day. I wish it were true...poor little tyke. All I can do is be his daddy when he visits us.  He's also became a Dukes of Hazzard fan, and loves Rusty...He's gonna be okay.

Answers so far from the hospital has been an ulcer and a tumor in his stomach. Biopsy was done and we'll hopefully soon have results. Poor Brandon is pretty much just camped at the hospital and hardly no one else will go sit with Mike. We try to keep someone out that due to his speech issue. The wicked witch sat with him last night for a few hours so Brandon could go to the Harvest Party at church with me. Heading out there now since I've finally gotten off work then to my parents to sleep since they live less than 1.5 miles from the church.

Mom went to the ER Friday night cause she fell twice. Her and dad both got mad at me on Saturday cause I didn't take her to the ER Friday, and they yelled at me on the phone about how when I'm off I still don't come to their house and cook and clean for them. But I can't afford the gas. We live 20 miles apart. But I get blamed cause I spend my off days in the backyard fishin. Then yesterday they didn't show up at church and dad called in the afternoon and said mom fell three more times Sunday morning and was ruses to the ER in the ambulance cause he couldn't pick her up and she cut her head open. They treated her and sent her home and then last night when I called to be nice and check on her, I got yelled at again.

Can't help it. I'm grown and it's not my responsibility anymore to do all their bidding.

It sounds harsh, and I'm seriously not being mean, but I finally stepped up and took more control of my life and they think just cause I live here again I need to be with them again and that's just not gonna happen. I work. I am trying to make ends meet and it's hard. I don't have time or the money to be running back and forth to do all their stuff. Dad is not any different since his near death experience a few weeks ago, in fact he is bitter again and planning to (try to) sue the hospital and the paramedics for keeping him alive when he doesn't have a DNR so he doesn't even have a case, but he's yelling and carrying on, and mom called today and was at least talking nice to me, and she said dad called the ER last night after mom got home and chewed them out and is trying to get the ER dr fired for not admitting her. He's just so angry and is trying to take down anyone else he can for whatever reason he can find.

It's crazy, but I cannot be sucked back in the middle of the drama when I'm just now getting my life back.

I doubt he will get anywhere with it anyway. He was gonna call one of the lawyers on the TV commercial. Once he talks to an actual lawyer, they will tell him he hasn't got a chance. He just apparently enjoys getting mad and telling about things in order to make the rest of us miserable.

I'm at work. Get off at 3 and I'm gonna go FISHING today. Lord willin.

I got paid today and I added up my bills and such in my head on the way to work, and I was happy cause it looked like I was gonna FINALLY! Be able to save about $30 from this paycheck...I get to work and the bottom of my non slip shoe flaps off. Been drivin me crazy all day...new shoes cost $25.00 so there it went. :smirk2:

Oh well...easy come easy go. And I've had these shoes for almost a year...that's a good run. I'm really hard on shoes.

Spent all day at the range, shot a good score and boasted to Mini via text...then came home in the rain. Surprise, the Canyon that has not been driven in the rain for several months- needed wipers, bad. I felt like Paul-" I see through a glass darkly..." Stopped at Walmart and bought new blades, then came home and got Lou before going to vote. Voted for a couple of personal friends, and several more liars, just because they lied less than their opponents. Bah. Sometimes voting means holding your nose and voting for the one that stinks the least. I swear, I believe that if common sense showed up in politics, the morons would beat it dead for fear of being overpowered.
And now that I've ranted, I'm trying to find something for tomorrow night. Been praying, read a bit, and have no clue...and I have to be back at the range all day again tomorrow.

Lou's mad because I didn't get the 3,000 kinds of fruits and other assorted things she wanted, but limited us to real food. I got some of the things she wished for, but the green bananas did NOT get bought.

My poor hacking father.....he sounds non-human....awfullest sounds you've ever heard.  Surely part of it is where he just stresses it himself because he can't spit right and is trying to do so...I don't know.  But it's horrible.  I feel sorry for him having to endure it.  Mom having to be stuck with it 24/7.  It's not constant, thank God, but it's frequent and ongoing....  I thank God for the stretches of relative peace in between.

Isaac has finally realized he needs to introduce an old fried of his in Oklahoma to some of the single Ladies of Tennessee.

Having mixed emotions tonight, with a definite irritation at our own dear Mini-ster...:pound:
See, I HAD this Corvette. Numerous times over the past I have made halfhearted efforts to sell it, with the occasional, and rare serious effort. Truthfully, I didn't have much in it, and while it annoyed my dear Lou by it not selling, I secretly was kinda glad.
Last week, in a text conversation, the corvette's subject arose. I admitted that I should probably sell it, and pay off debt, but no one was buying.
The Bonehead known as Jerm cheerfully advised me to "get the title ready, or whatever you Arkansas weirdos do, I'm praying you sell it." I laughed. No one has even remotely came with money. No way is my 'vette going anywhere. :hypocrite:
Today, my phone rings. It is my buddy with the Corvette I want, who is like a second dad to me. "You still have your Corvette?"  "Yep" "You want to sell it?" " I would"....thinking that no one will buy it. "We'll be over to look at it tonight."
Seems his daughter's boyfriend wanted a project Corvette. He showed up in a 2014 Silverado. Bingo- it'll be to rough for him. He looked at it, asked the price, and BOUGHT it. I told him about everything wrong with it I could think of. "I want it". I told him I didn't want him disappointed- "Nope, I want it. I want a project to tinker with and it is exactly what  want."
So there I stood, tears flowing as the sweet sound of MY corvette faded  away. And it's all Jerm, that idiot Prayer Warrior's fault. :pound:
Seriously, while I DID hate to see it leave, it makes life much easier and wipes out some debt, as will the Lincoln's sale price. But it does, um, inhale mightily that I am 1) no longer a Corvette owner and 2) I have to be responsible instead of rushing out to buy something else. Maybe.

Gillett, Arkansas- famous locally for it's annual "Coon Supper". Yes- they cook and eat the cute little masked bandits. Appropriately enough, it is a politician dinner, where anyone running for office in the state attends, so it's a form of cannibalism- bandit eating bandit.

Isaac- semi-hyperbole. I MIGHT have shed a little tear. I get attached to my toys. See, when I bu them I see what they CAN be. Then, I make them thataway. When I don't complete my vision for them I lose interest. But the minute they are sold,as they leave, I see once again what attracted me to them and what they could be.  thus- the tears.  :P

Sat down and ran some figures last night. With the sale of the 'vette, FOUR debts will be zeroed out, three of them credit cards. I think Lou's gonna get a nice shopping trip and I'm gonna splurge a little and buy a ham amplifier I've been wanting that a friend has at half the price it's worth. (It's a fairly rare and expensive piece that could be sold in minutes if necessary)
Then when my sister picks up the Lincoln, Christmas shopping and another debt zeroed with money left over to put in the bank. Yeah, it was a good thing. The debts being zeroed weren't huge, just nagging money eaters that were always there. This REALLY gets Dave Ramsey's debt snowball rolling....even though I will admit the ham amplifier he would advise against.
Lou's been wanting a tablet for her music so that'll probably be her Christmas.

My past few weeks in the short version: I want to kill Brandon 90% of the time. He has bailed on me again. We will probably never marry and I will remain on campus until such a time that I graduate with some sort of bachelor's degree. Debating on applying to be an RA. You get a private room and it's pays you 2020 buckaroos a semester.

Off to church.

Awoke this morning and discovered a bizarre smell in the house, couldn't figure out where it was coming from.  Hoped the place wasn't burning down.    Went and did a card job and such.

Turns out it was a space heater that pooed out.....

Long story short....  Dad wants to run 5,000 space heaters instead of letting the furnace run.

Excellent church service tonight. Sadly I had a terrible attitude going into it because the few times I get to make it on Wednesday nights are always the nights my ex-husband preaches.  But it was a message that kinda kicked me in the patootie that prompted a sobfest heart to heart with my amazing pastor's wife. Got some things I've been holding onto for years off my chest. Things I hadn't told anyone. It felt and I still feel awesome.

I hope everyone has an amazing, restful evening/night. See you crackerjacks in the morning

Cheesehead, doesn't it cost more to run space heaters instead of the furnace?

Heather- sometimes a sobfest/ heart to heart with a trusted advisor and safe confident is the best way to overcome issues. Sometimes just talking them out makes things better.

And sharing- I'm back at work. Apparently we had some snow and such last night- little rock had a dusting, and I was surprised when, after driving 60 miles on dry highways, to round a corner and see black ice. Apparently there were more than me surprised though- there were 3 cars in the ditch. :o Thankfully, I saw it in time and we didn't slip a bit.
Got an unwelcome call yesterday around 1:45- my friend and fellow assistant that was supposed to preach last night-didn't. He was sick. I dashed home, ate dinner, grabbed my bible and headed to church. Managed, with God's help, to put together a message on our Heritage. The church, for the most part, seemed to have returned to old paths- namely the old hymn that says " I shall not be moved." :biglaugh: Oh well. At least I put out what God gave.  :P

The preacher wore that striped tie
He knows I do not like
I wish that I had stayed at home
Gunsmoke's on tonight
I'll sit right here
And hinder those around me
I shall not be moved

It's cold for Texas in November, it got down to 34* last night and supposed to get to 27* tonight.

Our high for the day is only supposed to be 42. It's been drizzling all day. It can't decide if it wants to turn to snow or not. I'm currently hiding out in the library. My roommate was watching one of those shows about people who I have no idea why they are famous. I could feel my IQ dropping just being in the same room. Went to the gym earlier. History class later. Stay warm everyone.

Speaking of shows about people who are famous and you have no idea why they are famous...

"Next up, it's the show where people try to get their ideas on the air. Watch as they pitch even wilder ideas to the producers. Who will stay on the air? Who will be canceled? Find out on Reality Show: the reality show."

Running a fire in my fireplace. First of the season.

Also listening to some vinyl. Guy Lombardo, Mahalia Jackson, some sort of latin dancing. And I've now transitioned to the quieter tones of classical with a side of that lovely vinyl crackle.

Caved and put my Christmas tree up. Sans decorations though.

Made mini pizzas for dinner. And now I'm sitting in front of the fire.

Sad to say but I'm ready to skip to January 5th. Starting a new art school for my bachelors and I cannot wait. Never dreamed I'd ever say I was ecstatic about going to school.

Its cold.  It's snowed off and on today.  Pooty on that.

Went to Grandma's and picked up some stuff.....foods, cleaners, etc., stuff that would freeze with no heat cause my aunt will be shutting the lights off before too long...  It seems weird to go there and her not be there.  She should've been sitting in her chair in the living room ready for church and ready to hop right up and go when I got there.....

But, as a friend said to me, she's in church all the time now.

Bristol got snow but I didn't!!!!!  :-( Rearranged my side of the dorm room. I'm one of THOSE people who moved my living room furniture around every few months in my old house. Not much I can do with very limited space, but I like it. In pulling everything out from under my bed though a tragedy happened. The suitcase my parents bought me for my first missions trip had been attacked by mold prior to them installing our dehumidifier. It couldn't be saved. I'd had that bag since summer of 2001. Mom refused to let me take her old blue Sears vinyl suitcase that had to be duct taped shut because the one lock wouldn't work anymore. [I still have the matching vanity case that will be with me til I die!] Me and that rollie bag has been through a whole mess of life together..... It served me well.....

Work all day tomorrow. Only supposed to be in the 30's tomorrow

Cheesehead, doesn't it cost more to run space heaters instead of the furnace?

And yes, probably.  But try to tell him that.

There's a heater upstairs and downstairs....  He wants the one that's upstairs to blow on the thermostat so the furnace won't run as much.....  Last night, he wanted me to bring it downstairs though.

But then today, he had mom take it back upstairs.

He's a strange old pitiful man.

Been a fun day. Trying to find a local computer shop that won't rip my head off is a fruitless endevour, apparently. One shop had the nerve to quote a price of $275 for a Windows Vista machine that wasn't worth half of that.
But, I did have some success- while wandering through a flea market I found an old metal cooler from the 50's like what I have been searching for for quite sometime. It was reasonable, and promptly followed me home.
Then I bought groceries, came home and got Lou's car and took it to Russellville, where the cupped rear tires that made so much road noise that you couldn't talk with each other at highway speeds were replaced.
While waiting for the tires to be installed, I overheard a big ole rawboned country boy wearing overalls preaching a sermon to a scrawny Iranian dude. Nearly stood up and shouted when he got over on the oneness of the Godhead and began quoting scripture. Turns out the kid attends an independant church about 20 miles south of Russellville. I can see he and I becoming good friends...we talked for twenty minutes after the Iranian retreated to call his cell and tell them we were too crazy to bomb.

That was my thought. It had DuoCore processor and 2 gigs. I  left without telling the dude he was a moron.  :P I honestly think he saw me-dressed as usual, overalls,ect- and saw an illiterate, non computer savvy hick. Which, while not far from the truth, was his mistake. I may be all of that, but I have friends. And they are geeks.BWAAAHHAAAA!

Cold today. I ended my search for a new to me laptop today with a craigslist purchase. Dell E6500, with Windows 7 Ultimate loaded on it. Absolutely spotless, bought it from a 50-ish lady schoolteacher for $130, with her offering unconditional moneyback guarantee for 24 hours. I am pleased.

They are saying possible snow and ice here tonight and tomorrow. I HAD been planning on a slight trip with two friends to northern Arkansas for hoghunting and just general sightseeing, but that may be on hold...

It snowed around 2 inches here last night, but curiously enough, the roads were clear, something which caused Chey untold grief, as she wanted out of school. Since I had taken a vacation day, and Lou was off, we went to Conway where Lou shopped at Goodwill, then we came home and I cooked chili. After eating a large bowl, I have discovered that it seeks revenge and has been trying to eat me. Thank God for acid controllers....

Our campus ministry from my church there got to go and pray and minister to them this afternoon. It was a wonderful ministery oppertunity if nothing else.

Hoping to be feeling better by tomorrow evening...I have a date!

Did cleaning job and errands yesterday.  Went to the library for the first time in forever, got a new library card, as mine had broke in two years ago, and I wasn't in the system anymore it'd been so long I'd been in there.

Worked today. They hired in a new guy I had to train. He's applied for a drivers job with Fedex [whom he already works for. we are his second job] and has already told us that as soon as he gets the job he's leaving.....Why even hire him? I mean seriously.....

Have had this headache off and on for a few days. Getting ready to go to the store. I'm tired of pizza from the cafeteria. I have just enough $ for some mac and cheese, milk, pasta sauce [i already have noodles] and some cereal [hopefully]. Plus campus shuts down next week for Thanksgiving before I get paid again.

Dad's test on the fluid came back good, didn't show any cancer.  Praise the Lord for that.

Still praying the rest of the stuff doesn't show anything that appears bad.  Either the Lord just fixes it up or else shows what it is and it has a simple remedy to help him.

I wanted to be impressed, as it was opened by friends and is really convenient- but truthfully, it wasn't great. Not bad, just kinda ordinary.
Oh, and while reading a book about outlaws and the west a few ago, I thought of Mini. Not because he is an outlaw, but because his hometown was the site of a bank robbery in the 20's or 30's by Charles "Pretty Boy" Floyd. Being a history nut, I thought that was kinda cool..

I was pleased to discover that the local Walmart  is running a special- all Castor oil oil changes for $20, synthetic or not. That's less than half price....I had the oil changed in the Canyon (needed) Lou's car ( 25 percent left, so a little early) and since it was so cheap, Rusty got his yearly oil change.
Went and paid my friend for the ham amp- I've been carrying his money around for a week- then came home after doing all the oil change transportation dance. It's raining, which I hate.  And that's Roscoe's sharing...

Heather:  That is one of the two things I miss about east TN - the mountains.

The other thing I miss is supermarkets that stay open all night.  I lived in GreenEville where there were eleven of them, and if one didn't stay open until at least 11pm one might as well go out of business.  Where I live in west TN is a small town with one supermarket that closes at 8pm.  No, I'm not kidding.  They close before the sun goes down sometimes.

Been pouring rain here. And in true to my life fashion, the windshield wipers on the canyon, hiccupped twice, then quit this morning. In a downpour. At 70mph. Not fun, and not a happy owner. I wish to heavens I was in a position to buy a new car. I'd so do it, just because I am tired of working on *Oh my, I need to improve my vocabulary*.

I'm in Johnson City, where we have 2 24 hour Walmarts and a 24 hr Kroger. Also all the other supermarkets stay open until at least midnight. With the exception of EarthFare and Fresh Market. I think they close around 9 or 10.

That picture was actually taken in SW VA but it's pretty much the same here as well. My next hiking adventure will be over in Roan Mountain.

It's rained all day here.

It's rained since this afternoon here.

Went to church this morning, then to Scottsburg to James's church.  I don't know if I ever stated that he recently took a church there.  Their keyboard player wasn't going to be there and I played.

Went to Cracker Barrel with them after and then back by their house and sat around a while.

It's still 3 days before Thanksgiving and I'm already over the holiday season. For 2 months it was discussed that I would go home to my parents on wednesday and stay through friday in my own bed. Now I'm probably not even going home because my sister has decided to appear a day early and therefore she gets my bed. I do not have the gas money to drive there and have to drive back before I get paid on Friday. So I guess it's mac and cheese in my dorm room for Thanksgiving.

[and to remind everyone this is the same family who moved the time of dinner last year to when I was supposed to be at work because last minute the golden child decided to come in and I had chips and a Pepsi for dinner....]

Went to pick up a pain med prescription for dad, was a fiasco getting it....  Worked a couple stores while I waited on all that crud.

He is back to having to have a biopsy as was originally intended back in the summer or whatever that he decided he didn't want to do.  So pray that it also comes back okay.....something simple to fix, nothing bad.

So...I'm havering three thanksgivings this year.

Tomorrow after work I'm dining with my aunt and her sister for a traditional turkey meal.
Friday I'm cooking a ham and joining the Toehays and MawMaw in the family get together.
Saturday afternoon (after Kira's 2nd birthday party) I'm going with my parents to Golden Corral.

:fork:

Gonna be a gluttonous weekend for most of us I'm sure. :)

Back at work. Don't mind too much since Lou has to work from noon until 9:30. At least by doing this, I'm guaranteed Christmas off. Co worker and I have pooled together for a decent dinner- steak, 7 layer salad, fresh bread, green bean wraps and buttermilk pie.
Enjoyed company of some friends from Livingston, Texas last night, too. Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving.

People are insane. Totally nuts. I drove by Walmart on the way home. Every parking spot on the 5 acre lot  was full, people parking on the grass, and the nearby bank and other businesses' parking areas were full. People lined up all over the store, from what I could see. You'd have thought they were giving away new trucks, not $10 off of a $30 crockpot. Nutz. I just pray that my poor wife escapes without being trampled in the melee. And that's an honest prayer, not being facetious.

Several  years back- like ten or more- Kim talked me into going with her to get my Daddy a DVD player that was on sale for $15. I had an old woman snatch it out of my hands while I was standing in line at the register. I snatched it back and told her I'd beat her down if she tried that again. She started to mouth, and one of the managers chose that moment to ask if any OTHER police officers were there. The old biddy asked if I were a police officer, then quickly removed herself from the area.
I told Kim next time I'd just pay the difference for Daddy's gift. It'd have to be cheaper than my bondsman would've charged to get me out of my own jail.... :laughhard:

We didn't fix any meal, since dad can't eat.

Tomorrow I'll do the poop job, and then the apartment cleaning job since I didn't do it today to save running an extra trip to town.

My brother just bought 2 acres of land near his house and he is planning on pouring a concrete slab and storing his work trailer and their camper on it when he gets it mowed and cleaned up. Later he's gonna dig a pond on it and stock it with fish...but the first thing he is planning is building a chicken pen and getting about 10 laying hens.

This will be interesting.

For real. I have a friend who works at Wal-Mart and she worked yesterday.  (That probably means she's a good worker, as they make sure to have their A-team on hand at these times. Probably means your wife is a good worker too.) I sent her a text before she went to work: "Happy Thanksgiving.  Stay safe out there.  Don't get run over. Or tasered."  It happened you know - someone actually tasered someone over a black friday "deal."

But it seems to me that time is money, and all the time they spent waiting in line for these "deals" would have been spent better somewhere else.  You can get better deals than these online, at any time. It seems they're not getting their time/money's worth.  Like driving 10 miles away to get gas 2 cents cheaper per gallon.  Disregarding the gas cost to drive that far, you're also spending more time.

No, not at all.  He's had a feeding tube for over a year, ever since he had the shingles in his ear and was in the hospital.  It damaged the nerves in his face and throat and rendered him unable to swallow.

As someone who works at a male dominated workplace, it is not as glorious as it seems. Some definite perks, but I've never worked with a more gossipy group of people in my life than the men of AutoZone.

Was in bed by 930 last night because my roommate was going home for the night. Was awoken at 210 am when she came barreling through our door. I asked if she was ok, did anything happen. She was surprised I hadn't gotten her text at 1130 saying she was coming back. I informed her no I hadn't as I'd gone to bed early because I hadn't been sleeping well the previous night due to loudness. I would feel better I think about the whole situation if she would just tell me what was going on. Is it a boyfriend? A girlfriend? Drugs? I'm not her parents so she doesn't have to lie to me, but I'm the one stuck living with her currently. That and her trash is piling up again. Now it's not only under her desk, but on top of it now too. Brandon, the smoker who doesn't smell anything, says our room has a smell to it. UGH!!!!!

Hopefully they will let us move directly after this semester before break that way she doesn't have to haul all her stuff to Clarksville for the break. I'll be staying on campus.

My manager doesn't understand finals. I only have Sunday off until after finals are over. Hello exhaustion!!

I officially called in sick today. Robbie is scared cause I've been threatening to tear the little bathroom apart... Knowing that people are coming to my house next week... It really needs to be done though... And before people need to use it!

Poor Robbie.  Chel, you should make him some homemade bread to alleviate the pain from your unauthorized remodel.
And in sharing- I covet your prayers. A job opportunity which is my dream job- one I would take over a brand new Corvette- has came open and I have applied for it, with people speaking for me. If it comes through- it is a local to me job, in one of my favorite locations on this earth. It would be nearly as good as winning the lottery.

Awesome church this morning!!! Brandon and I were talking after service and I can see and tell a difference. Granted he's not involved but he's hinting that he knows he's stubborn and can't do it all on his own. Bro Ketron told us to start dreaming of what we want to see and do in 2015. I'm believing that God will move and Brandon will be willing. I'm believing he will receive the Holy Ghost in 2015 [or before....just saying....]

Please be in prayer for me this week. Finals start tomorrow. Also our pastor slipped a disc in his back this week.

Dad had his biopsy test tomorrow.  Tonight he has been in some kind of awful pain in his abdomen....he's always in pain somewhere, but this was different than usual.  It eased but still hurts if he moves or something.  He didn't want to go to the ER.

It's always something.  Lord help us.

I'll Give y'all ne to laugh at me about.

When teaching or preaching, I'm normally slow to even recognize possible distractions/interruptions, much less get really aggravated over one.

Several weeks back, I'm teaching the adult class. About the time I get started, I get a loud, really audible yawn from, the center aisle, front row. All right, that happens once in a while.

About halfway a lesson/message I have put a Lot of thought and care into,. I get another loud yawn from the same spot. Then, just as I'm about to finish, same spot, another loud yawn at a majorly quiet point. By now I'm genuinely aggravated, but manage to get through without telling anyone to put a sock in it.  :)

You could do like OUR SS teacher did sunday...nearly earned himself a punch in the snoot.
He is, without a doubt a good man and has good insight into Scripture- but he has a monotone that will put folks to sleep and tends to repeat himself. I am sitting on the back row, having been up since 4:30 am, fighting to remain awake since it is now 5:45 pm... instead of snoring, I take my phone out (which is silenced) and scroll through the bible app. Anything to keep me from dozing. Noticing, apparently that my head is down more than he'd like, he stops his lesson and announces to the church that "Bro Bobby is looking at his phone instead of the lesson, and is assured that it is bible that he is looking at".
My temper spiked and I nearly told him if he'd not bore everyone to tears I'd not look at the phone. But, I kept quiet. He is truly a good man, and I love him and don't want to cause issues. But I would never be so rude as to call someone out like that. All that does is embarrass and turn people away, IMHO.

Oh well, shoveling some fries and chicken strips in my mouth then off to church.

That's how I got after 2 weeks of rain here Jenn. The sun finally came back out last sunday.

I don't know how I got home today. Went into work with slight headache and it turned full blown migraine in no time. Slept in my entire work uniform [with shoes] for about 4 hours. Did a lot of praying too. Feel pretty good except now I'm super hungry. I have promised the pastors daughter for 2 years now that I would go to her choir group dinner and tonight is when my ticket is for. I wasn't letting the devil win this one.

I'm actually off work this weekend.

Reminds me of a bunch of guys who descended on our church night before last for the annual wild men's supper er, men's wild meat supper. We had about eighty men and boys there, but we still had food left over when it was all done.  Sent a few cool whip bowls full of definitely not cool whip home with people.

I'm eating some leftover rabbit gumbo and duck dressing for breakfast.  And I'm going to have a deer roast sandwich for lunch.

We have a local butcher shop that's been in business for the last 40 years or so. We buy ALL our meat there-  they grind the hamburger meat while I'm watching, and will literally cut any cut of meat you desire in front of you. Much better quality than that pre-packaged stuff. We even have our lunch meat, most of which is made locally, sliced fresh.
As far as the meat box- it's basically a collection that he offers that saves bulk buyers a bit of cash. For instance, we got 5 lbs ground beef, 5 lbs bacon, 5 lbs pork chops, a 3lb or so roast, 5 lbs country style ribs, 4 or 5 lbs split chicken breast, 2 lbs locally made petit jean bologna, 2 lbs chopped ham, and I think a packet of stew meat....maybe something else. Individually, probably $100-$120 worth, for $75. We buy one at least once or twice a year. Just tell 'em we want a $50 box, or a $75 box, or a $100 box, and they call you when it's ready to be picked up.
The only meat we buy elsewhere is poultry- usually frozen chicken breast from Walmart, and occasionally we will run into Russellville, around 20 miles away, to a wholesale chicken outlet and stock up there. We cook so much, it makes sense to buy meat in bulk and just load the freezer up. :thumbsup2:

And in sharing- as usual, an AMAZING time with our friends the Porters. Love this family SO much. If computers in general, and GP specifically, did anything useful for me, I'd rank the fact that it got me acquainted with some of the most Godly, faithful, and awesome people I could ever hope for as the number 1 thing it did for me. Me- the technophobe- is loving technology.  :o

I have a PO Box now but if anyone sends anything to my old address it's my parents so I'll get it as well.

After the dress code fiasco of 2014 my boss has cut my hours to 21.  I swear he's a woman.....

bought a meat box at the butcher.

How does this work? What did you get?! Interesting. Where do you even find a butcher?
Next time we come can you order us a box? How much head start does he need?

Urgent Prayer Request; My Aunt Linda just passed away. GOD is her judge but she wasn't in church. My dad has epileptic seizures and stress makes them worse. When I just talked to him all he could really say is "I hope she got right with GOD". Our family truly needs your prayers tonight..

Praying, Taco my friend...

And Chel, they try to get the box done the same day it is ordered, but depending on how busy they are, it might take a day or so....Next time you come up, I'll get the content list of the boxes- sometimes he varies them- and will send them to you. Then if you want one, I'll order it and you can pick it up when ya get here. Easy-peasy.

A meat box like that would last three... maybe four family breakfasts here.  Sounds like a good deal.  Too bad they don't ship to TN.

How's your dad, Seth?

Poorly.  About like he's been doing.

It's so pretty outside today.  70* and sunny. You'd never know it was the middle of December.  Makes me want to be outside instead of at this desk.

Family Breakfast:  When all my aunts, uncles, cousins and one or two close friends of the family that are pretty much adopted family members get together at Grandma's or uncle Brent's house for a big ole family get-together.  With cheese and eggs, buttermilk biscuits, sausage, bacon, maybe some cheese grits, white gravy... And the fruit platter, which always looks out of place among all that grease and flour.

Took mom to a doctor appointment.

Dad had an eye doctor appointment for this morning but didn't feel like messing with it.  He looks and acts terrible.
