I'll take care of the cursing-the-morning-hours today. :smirk2: Lord. I do NOT wanna be here today. Or there. Unless "there" is a small mountain cabin with no one near and the quiet peacful babbling of a nearby brook... instead, I'm stuck in a huge fancy buildng with the not so peaceful babbling of idiots. Bah. Somedays I hate people. This is one of those days.
Got the pork all pulled and sauced. Now I need to clean up and apparently the hot water heater in the fellowship hall isn't working. So I gotta call Bro Lloyd and see if he knows what the deal is.

Not sour. Just when I look at the 98% non-exsistent male population that will stand up, be a man and act like the dominant species God intended them to be, and see lazy, insufficient, let the woman come to me attitude is when my face goes sour.
Jenn, I told Nathan he should be feeling mighty fine. He's in the top 2% of existent males. :biglaugh:
In other news, we found a navy blue double breasted suit for Andrew for $10 @ the thrift store and it took all my convincing that double breasted suits were not dorky. And it's not like he's going to wear it every week for the next 3yrs. The boy is growing so fast it'll be back to the store in 6mo. anyway. Upon getting ready for NAYC, we found he was down to 1 pair of jeans and 1 pair of dress pants! I'm about to start praying for the Lord to stunt his growth. He got invited to go to MO camp mtg. and sing in MO Mass choir so he's heading out before us tomorrow, and is kind of nervous. It's neat to watch him have new experiences, hopefully I can snag a picture at the service.
I made white bean burgers tonight. Not bad. Not to die for either. Maybe a good food for coming off a long fast.
Melodya it's why I'm still single. I can't find a man who will lead. Or even come to me first. Women weren't created to make the moves first! :nono: I'm waiting to be pursued. :thumbsup2:

Yeah. That. I know too many gals who have said that the time waited is irrelevant, only that you waited for who was right. One is one of my heroes. She is a go-getter, has ministry and talents. BAM! It happened, came together too wonderfully for it to be coincidence. Now her and her hubby are missionaries in Turkey. They have an adorable 2 year old. She's living the dream, I tell ya!
The pressure on women is ridiculous. Sometimes, I wonder why is it even so far fetched to think that not EVERY woman needs to be or is meant to be married? That there is still work, honor, and ministry for such. As if a woman cannot be totally fulfilled in Christ and have a wonderful life up until she is married or
forever. Marriage is great, but I see wonderful things about being single in other gals as well.

Ditto all that for guys as well. I may be single, but that doesn't mean I'm just spinning my wheels until I find a girl and get married and my REAL life begins. Why do so many people think I'm just wasting time because I haven't been married yet?

And I made over 80 pulled pork sandwiches today, they all went out and were paid for, and we only spent $106.00 total for the meat, sauce, bags, chips and snack cakes...we profited $254.00!!! PROFIT! It was pretty easy work for that much profit! We may do a couple more of those before NAYC.
I have had a great day today. :)

Sorry about that... future posting does cause a lot of chroniton radiation. (only Star Trek fans will get that...)
Fuzzy: How is your husband taking it?
:-( I'm sorry, Sandra.
Oh dear. Praying for you & your family.
My condolences, Lady Sandra. Praying.
I'm in the ER with dad. He has been in severe pain since the amputation and he is convinced the bone is infected.
Praying for him, Lady Melody.
So after three hours in the ER, we find out that dad is fine. They don't have any tangible reason that he is in so much pain. So they give him a pain shot and we head home.
We get home, he gets inside, and he realizes that he left his papers and stuff in the truck. So he asks me to go get them...I head in that direction, and as I step outside the door of our apartment, into the foyer, my foot hits the side of the ramp wrong, my ankle pops out of joint and I fell.
Worst. Pain. Ever.
I was convinced for several minutes (which felt like hours) that my ankle was broken.
Now if you know me, and my reputation for falls...my rule is DO NOT TOUCH ME! This time I was in so much pain, I was screaming, then reduced to tears, laying in the foyer. Normally, I will take a minute, recoup, and get up. I don't want any fuss. This time I just laid there crying and wondering how I was gonna get off the floor.
My friend Granny was here cleaning, and he daughter as well...they along with my parents were at my side almost immediately. Granny got a bag of ice, and promptly sat behind my legs and removed my shoe and applied ice to my ankle. Stacey went to my room and got pillows, and then a fan so I would be comfortable on the floor. Mom got some water and a pain pill, and dad retrieved his own stuff from the truck.
Granny and Stacey never left my side, and forbid me to get up even after I wanted to. Finally I was permitted to sit in a chair, and then used crutches to get in the apartment to my bed. My ankle is the size and large grapefruit, and I have carpet burn on my elbow.
This all happened at about 9:30, and it's almost 3am now. I dozed some. But now I'm in pain and can't sleep. I know it's not broken now, and I'm thankful...but boy does it ever hurt.
*sigh*
That is all.
/me hugs Mel
I'm sorry you are hurting, Lady Melody!
hope the ankle heals pretty quickly Melody
I am feeling quite a bit better today. It was a long painful night, and this morning was difficult getting a shower and dressed for church, but I made it. I wrapped it tightly with curlex and coban, stuck a sock on it and went to church and then even out to lunch. By the time I got home, I was sore, but walking fairly well.
I've napped now, and the thing that hurts the worst is my elbow from the carpet burn. My shoulder and hip are sore now too, I guess from landing on the floor. But all considering, I feel much better than I thought I would. :)
Popped out of joint? Yeah, that would hurt. Glad it's not hurting as much now as you thought it would. That's one thing you like being wrong about. :)

In Mel Mel sharing land...I can WALK!! I havent had to use the crutches all day, and while my ankle is still a bit sore, and has the occasional sharp pain, I am walking (slower than normal) without assistance! WHOOT!
My arm however....sheesh. Who knew that a 2in carpet burn can affect so many day to day tasks. IT STINGS. BAD. Continuously.
But I am blessed that I can walk with minimal pain. Thats the important part. I can deal with a stinging arm as long as Im not confined to a sitting position.

I actually did that one time. I had a stack of CDs that I picked up at a local thrift store, and I knew that we were going to be slow that day at work, so I brought my laptop in and spend the day ripping CDs to computer. Next day the boss told me not to do that anymore.

Cleaning house. My brother and his family will be here tomorrow morning. Well, tonight actually, but they are going to the hotel tonight...I may meet them there and go swimming.... but they will be here tomorrow at the house so I gotta get it straight.
Oh...and the dumb stupid idiot excuse for a dog peed on dads brand new recliner last night.
I hate him.
Have I mentioned that lately?
Get a cat. My mother has had cats for the entirety of my life, and we have never had that problem with them. :cat:
She HAD a cate but it died. She can't get rid of the dog cause its her mom's.
when I was a kid my family had a cat that would poop on the couch rather in the litter box
I would rather have a cat. ANY DAY OF THE WEEK.
Im just waiting for the day he keels over and I convince mom into another cat.
And Im upset at my brother. Which my distress will be immediately relieved when I see my Niece tomorrow...but still.
We were supposed to go swimming. SO he calls when he gets in town and says the are here, and to get ready, they are gonna grab some food, and then call me to meet them at the hotel. So I get all ready, shower and stuff and I even cut a pair of my sweats to make some long swim shorts for myself cause I wont be caught dead in a swim suit...not just cause of modesty issues either...*cough*
So Im ready and waiting and waiting and waiting, and I finally decide to call him back and see if he forgot about me or whatever, and he says that they JUST got to the hotel (By then its 10pm) and that they ate too much at the restaurant and so they might still go swimming, and when they get in the room and talk it out they will let me know.
He hasnt called back yet. I gave up. He could have at least called and said they decided not to. no big. But dont say you are gonna call and then leave me hanging. I HATE THAT. (in any situation)
I havent been swimming in over 5 years. I was really looking forward to it, and now Im just disappointed.
I could loan you my cat. With her track record in hunting, she would probably assume the dog was a small rabbit and dispatch it for you.
If I understand it right, the Catholic Church has now decided to get into a sort of banking business. I find this interesting with the times we are living in. That is just starting in England, I believe.
Melody, don't the hotel pools close at 10? It's been years since we've been swimming at one but I don't think they were open all night. Not nice of him to leave you hanging either way.
Other news: God is still providing but Nathan needs a steady job soon. He applied for one at which he is qualified and would be decent money. They are still reviewing apps they said. We want the Lord's will more than anything.

So THAT'S why we have a forecast of isolated thunderstorms! Hope it doesn't interfere with our plans. Shiloh is a rather large park and we will probably be there most of the day. Newsman will have to do most of the talking though, I know little about the civil war. They got a museum, movie, live demonstrations of old rifles, trails all over the place, etc, etc, etc...
Speaking of museums... does it seem suspicious to anyone else that Bobby chose to live so close to a car museum? Hmm... I'm sure it's just a coincidence.

Some issues around my house have been resolved. Brandon is now driving his 'new' car. I got to drive it yesterday after he had his eye exam. SO much easier to drive than that horrid Prelude. Teresa will no longer be visiting at our house. As soon as Mike gets his car [in the next few weeks to month] he will be going to see her at her house. She still hates me for some reason. Told Brandon the other day she liked it better when he dated this one girl from high school 10 years ago for 3 months. She apparently buttered Teresas bread the right way. Of course that relationship was also fueled on drug use....
Why do I keep getting crazy families who hate people who go to church?!?!?!? [mine included!!!!]

You seemed to hold your own when us wingnuts descended on your fair town, and we were more than a few.
That was different. YOU were all weird too,and thus cancelled out MY weirdness. These are- gasp- normal people. Well, mostly. Except for a few quirks.
There is no canceling out weirdness. You just didn't notice it because you are also weird.
Just got home from a wedding. I'm usually not a crier but I boo hoo-ed.
This under-collar shoulder pocket totally pwns shirt front pockets, for the simple reason that my phone doesn't fall out when I bend over to pick something up from the floor. I should have gotten shirts like this years ago.
In local news, Newsman has landed, we saw a cannon fired, saw a lot of other cannons and watched a movie that gave a 50 minute overview of the battle of Shiloh.
Newsman claims he doesn't know a lot, but if you get him started talking he actually knows quite a bit. (Don't tell him I said that though.)
Speaking of Newsman.....

He doesn't really look like he is the "Grumpiest of Grumpies" here..... In fact, he looks spectacularly UNGRUMPY. Of course, a pic with a princess will tend to make most men ungrumpy..... :P
And for the facebook challenged.....here's a pic of Princess' Birthday present. And yes, she picked it out- she just has the good taste to prefer the retro side of life, like Daddy. :P

That is a sweet bicycle!!! Good taste Chey!
I had one like that! Only I had a banana seat and streamers!
Im no longer mad at my brother. I knew I wouldnt be...5 mins after he walked in the door I was too busy laughing at his remarks making fun of Moms dog to stay mad at him.
We had a great day and I still want to swim, but its stormed all day so I know Im not missing out...hes not getting to swim either. LOL
been a day for me. Started off with oversleeping and being 21 minutes late to work. :sadbounce: Our shelf resets that we're suppose to do on the weekend didn't come thru on the computer system today which means Sunday and Monday will be horrid trying to crash get them done in time for Tuesday new releases. Hopefully tomorrow will be better. Might well go to the Apostolic church tomorrow rather than my normal church.
You work at a movie store?
I work in the Electronics dept at Walmart
Newsman was afflicted with most of my family tonight. I had already determined to show him a great local restaurant, because he said he likes catfish - and come to find out the family was planning to go eat tonight anyway. So instead of one nut, he had a bunch of them to contend with. He fell right in though, and gave as good as he got.
Now to get to bed before my system's caffeine level bottoms out. Tomorrow is church homecoming at my church (does Newsman have great timing or what?) and it's always a great time.
I will have to admit though... twice at supper I had to ask Newsman who's side he was on. He kept taking my Grandma's side in an argument.
He often misses stuff in the sharing thread, so... :pound: :pound: Newsman. There, a :pound: for each time.
We're up and I'm making muffins. After wondering around to a few different churches because Brandon wanted to check them out, we are BOTH headed 'home' today. Friends of mine started a new work up the road in Saltville VA. We went to their opening services and Bro Ketron [my pastor] preached. Brandon talked the whole way home how he'd missed hearing him preach/teach and how much he liked him. So YAY!!!! Plus I have pinched my last pennies [some literally] to be able to afford eating at my favorite Mexican restraunt today.
Re: penny pinching - "He squeezed a dollar bill so hard, Washington got buck teeth!"
Excellent preaching this morning from Bro Greg Hurley. Fire has to fall on the altar before the rains of revival can come. Had a super awkward moment after service when I was talking to my friend Sasha. She was up front praying and her 4 year old was getting rambunctious. So I got Noelle to come to me and we went to her seat to find her dry cheerios. Sasha was thanking me for giving her some time alone and this odd lady who comes to church there asked me if I was practicing for when I had my baby since I was obviously pregnant. After a beat I just said 'no sister thats just fat' and kept on going. I've never heard Sasha laugh so hard in my life.
Even though I don't have a ring yet, plans are in motion for a June wedding next year. Anyone want to come?
I would like to!
So far Ive only made it to one GP wedding though. :smirk2:
Ive pulled a muscle or something in my back.
My brother and his family went to church and headed home today. They didnt stay for lunch...they seemed to be RUNNING for the door of the church as soon as they could. We had a dinner in the fellowship hall that turned out great, and then I came in and napped a bit. Now I just took some tylonal and Im waiting for it to kick in so I can clean the kitchen up, soak some beans for tomorrow with a leftover ham bone, and make myself a meatball sub for dinner now.
Please be careful Melody. Covering the pain with a pill can cause you to do more damage and not be aware of it. I know it's up to you to do the cleanup, cooking, etc, and you gotta do what you gotta do... just be careful.
Been an odd day. Walked out of service this morning at a church I've been visiting cause of how I reacted to what was being preached. Was planning to go back to my home church tonight till I got sick. Then I ended up on the phone for almost 2 hours having a Bible discussion with the pastor of the church I was at this morning. Fighting a headache now.
Oh I know. And Im against taking too many pain pills. I have seen first hand what damage it can do to people and their families.
Im done now, and I didnt do too much. Luckily the kitchen was still fairly decent, so I just straightened up, prepared the beans and made my sandwich.
Im done for the night now and the way I feel, I will be going to bed by 9 possibly. I have a babysitting job tomorrow. My Kira and O Bug! Yay!
Well... yes, pain pills have side effects. But I was talking about moving in a way your back doesn't want, and it doesn't hurt because the pain is blocked, so you keep doing stuff your damaged back really doesn't want you to do because the warnings of further damage are being blocked by the pain pills.
I knew what you meant too... thats why I said I didnt do too much and Im done now. :)
I believe I've mentioned that since I gave these forum nuts my phone number, it's a really good thing I have an unlimited talk/text plan. I will now restate this. It is a really, really, REALLY good thing I have unlimited talk/text. :D
Well...True to my word, Im going to bed. Its 23 after 9.
Goodnight.
Wow. Less than two weeks until the wedding. This coming week I have to make cakes for the shower & then next week I have to make the wedding cake & grooms cake. :o
Speaking of the groom's cake... Holly, a lady some of you might remember from the old chat days, got married last year. I went up to Kentucky to attend it, and to run the slideshow and audio at the reception. I also wound up helping in the kitchen, because at church dinners that's where I am.
There was a beautiful wedding cake, the standard sherbet/ginger ale punch, some mixed nuts, those mints that dissolve in your mouth... and a smaller orange flavored cake with buttercreme frosting. The lady who was telling the other two of us what to do found it, sliced it and served it before the bride and groom got there. I didn't know much about the whole thing and apparently neither did anyone else in the kitchen, but this elder lady came in and started asking "where's the groom's cake?" Uh... what groom's cake? Uh oh.
Fortunately there was one lone slice left, so I confiscated it and saved it for the groom. Unfortunately he said he was still so nervous about the wedding that his stomach was in knots and he doubted he could eat it anyway. But that lady kept muttering in the corner about what a shame it was, the groom's cake being served before he even got there.
:hi:
:beret:
Up and at em!
After further pain and suffering during the night, and a few other symptoms, I have come to the conclusion that I most likely have a UTI. :smirk2:
So Im up earlier than I was going to be, so I can go ahead and get dressed and stop by the store on the way to my babysitting gig and get a couple of gallons of pure cranberry juice.
That always works, and if I can choke down a whole gallon today, and a half more the next two days, I can prolly flush this thing out...Pun intended. :flush:
Have a great day yall!
:o Morning. Back at work.. Bah.
good morning :hi:
flush it out.......begrudge
oh Monday.......at least it's payday.....
:couch:
A baked potato can be a beautiful thing! It's what's for lunch.

So far the only sparkling water I like is San Pellegrino - Orange!
They have a blood orange, a lime and a lemon, but I've been too scared to try them. lol
San Pellegrino is good. Orange is the best. Blood orange is too sweet, not enough flavor, and the lemon and lime taste too much like preservatives. Every time the local salvage grocery has orange, I get all they have.
Why the salvage grocery? Because that's the only place I can ever find it.
I can find it almost every grocery here. They're just like $6 for a package of 6 lol
Ive never seen that brand.
And its official....we are NOT going to NAYC. Its a long story, but one that I hope is for the best. I had a weird feeling about it from the start. My feelings were confirmed by our Youth Pastors wife, and now my Pastor has stepped in and given his feelings on the matter and put the breaks on the whole trip. So its officially not going to happen and I feel somewhat relieved.
I'm home for the night. Was able to get my killer shift for next week's schedule fixed so I'm not hanging around the store that day from 9 am to 11 pm.

I'm surprised they would consider a shift like that in the first place. Lou's been head CSM for our local Walmart for several years, and her store manager would have a heart attack at the prospect of paying 5+ hours of overtime...
We don't get overtime until the week as a whole has gone over 40 hours so that shift wouldn't have created overtime.
Mel, I don't know the circumstances of the decision but I felt that way about the OK meetup. As much as I wanted to go, and I really really did, it just wouldn't work. Thank goodness there are leaders to just say, "no."
I'll never know why, probably.
I felt that way too, MY. Something just didn't feel right.
Well, Duh...it was in OKLAHOMA. Ain't nothing right in that demon possessed land. :P 'specialy the people....Miniskirt, Okie, ect.... :biglaugh:
found out tonight that my church has canceled Wednesday night Bible study for this week cause both of the elders are out of town. Makes for a good excuse to go to the Apostolic church instead.
I found out later that there wasn't something right about it. Ain't sayin what. Still was a let down though.
funny, news man and I were talking about it just today.
Yall talking about the second trip? Not the Stargazer one? The one we tried to get together and failed?
Yeah, I had a weird feeling about that one too. I wanted to go but never felt right about it.
:hi: Morning, All! It's raining- again. I'm not complaining, Arkansas is usually bone dry this time of year. My grass will kick into overdrive....more mower time. And it's always a good day when I get to play with motorized equipment with sharp blades....I just wish I had the mower described here on one of the newsfeeds:
Honda, in conjunction with Top Gear magazine and racing outfit Team Dynamics, has built a high performance ride-on lawn mower capable of reaching speeds up to 130 mph.
And, yes, it can still cut the grass.
The so-called Mean Mower started out as a production Honda HF2620 Lawn Tractor before the team replaced its stock 20 hp motor with the 109 hp 1,000 cc V-twin from a Honda VTR1000 Firestorm sport bike along with its six-speed transmission and reengineered the suspension to handle a set of ATV wheels and tires.
A Scorpion exhaust system pumps up the volume to an ear-shattering 130 decibels, compared to about 106 db for a typical mower, while a Cobra racing seat was fitted to keep up with the bump in performance, now good enough to accelerate the grass assassin to 60 mph in four seconds.
It's a joint project of Honda, Top Gear, and a British racing team.
I can't figure out the link to the video- google it. It is sweet!
Sounds scary... :o
I'm awake but feeling real groggy. forgot to take my allergy medication last night.
On a more serious note... I had to make a very tough decision last night. Made the choice to remove myself from the Church of Christ group I've been part of and administrator in for years. I'll miss being part of that group as they've become very close friends to me. Couldn't ignore anymore that God has been dealing with me about getting out of groups that teach the Trinity and coming back to belief in one God.

It is NEVER overkill to buy more horsepower. :P

The influence of a couple of apostolics at work convinced me to visit an apostolic church again. Then their pastor got me straightened out on the Trinity doctrine.

Oh neat!
I ate some cake sunday at the church dinner that I have been craving ever since. This is the recipe...I think.
Either way, its in the oven now and I cant wait to try it!

You Put the frosting in with the mix and bake it all in a bundt pan. It comes out really dense like a pound cake. YUM! :fork:
I posted this here just for Isaac's benefit. I know he doesn't FB. LOL
Good pic. It hides his bald spot. :P
On a related note, I got a hair cut today. Chey came in, noticed it, and began running her fingers through what is left of my hair. She suddenly stopped, looked really serious at me and informed me "You have a bald spot". Like I didn't know....When I explained that I was getting old, she got quiet and suddenly blurted out " You aren't gonna DIE are you?" :laughhard:
Lands. No, not anytime soon, I hope. :pound:

Youth service tonight. I have the honor of creating chaos, with the pastors approval. Lets just say this lesson WILL be outside, will be about baptism, and EVERYONE will get wet.

That shouldn't be hard, if your weather is like ours, considering it's raining like a cow peeing on a flat rock here...
 Send us some rain...
Oooooh I wanna hear how the preaching and baptism lesson went!
Had to use up the last of the bread, so it was French toast this morning. Bread is so cheap, I wish produce was that inexpensive.
Andrew looks absolutely adorable in his ROTC uniform.
I'm making some bread, bagels, and cookies today. Or at least I'm aiming for that. Lol
I think produce is cheaper than bread. I eat the low calorie bread. For a reason, and it's like almost $4 a loaf.
FOUR BUCKS?!!
I ran the numbers recently, factoring in ingredients, electricity for baking and electricity for heating up the room I put the dough in for rising, and a loaf of bread costs me 63 cents to make. It has to cost big factories less, because it takes much less time for their bread to rise and because they have a much larger production scale.
I just try to eat healthier. And bread is already bad for me! So I buy the 45-calorie loaf.
Sara Lee's loaf is about 3.29 (sometimes 2.29)
Pepperidge Farm loaf is like 4.59
Nature's Own is about 2.99
I lost all respect for Pepperidge Farm when they started making their cookies with oil instead of butter. It does taste different. Bleh.
I try and make our own bread. I don't care about calories, I care about wholesomeness. There is a brand at Walmart I got last time that was a decent list and it was between $3-4. I'll have to see what brand it was.
I don't have the energy right now to calculate how much homemade is. I buy non-gmo flour though, use good oil or butter, good liquids, sea salt, sucanat sugar... Yada yada yada. Lol
I don't know with using quality ingredients if its any cheaper but at least I know it's cleaner and healthier.
Same with produce. Gmo pesticide ridden produce IS cheap but the sickness and diseases aren't.
Real, clean food is expensive. So we do what we can and trust God for the rest. At least I know I'm trying to be somewhat stewardly though.
In all the financial challenges we've had over the years, the fact that we haven't been hardly sick, let alone sick enough to go to the Dr. has been a huge blessing. The way medical expenses are, I do know eating healthier is cheaper than getting sick.
I know I'm generally in the minority about it all but the proof is in the pudding.
Either way, it's GOD that's been faithful and our provision. I'm still rich in the fact that I can travel a short distance to a place that has food and water. Good choices for the most part. Really, we have it made, even in a tight budget.
Bread is still cheaper than meat and the reason bread is such an ancient food is because real whole flour has protein in it, making it ok to not have meat every meal/dinner.
It does help me not get too fat, I think, maybe... Lol. Sucanat sugar is $5-8 for 2lbs. So our sugar intake is looooooow. Lol. Salt is cheap, even for sea salt so I'm not so tight with that.
Don't misunderstand me, were not health nuts. We went out after church last night and I had a rootbeer float! And we still end up getting pizza occasionally and other things. There was a social after church last night and my family all ate cake. I didn't make it in time to get any but I would've eaten it if I had!
I think God honors any progress you make towards eating healthy. And I also think every one's progress and steps towards progress varies.
Hurting. *sigh* My back is aching to the point that I'm stifling screams very often. It's nearly as bad as it was a few years ago when I was in Cali. Prayers appreciated.
:-( I'm so sorry, 'Lona. I'll be praying. My back is hurting today too, but not THAT bad. I've been there though, and it's SO hard to deal with. *HUG*
My three men are all headed for the men's campout tomorrow. Think I'll spend some time with my mom and sis and get some girlie time in. :)
Mel - Good. I'm glad it got cancelled. :)
:beret:
Yep. You knew my feelings on it. Im glad it was too. I will miss seeing everyone, all my long lost friends I havent seen in years...and the possibility of meeting GPers and new friends, but like I said, a HUGE weight was lifted off me when I was told the final decision made by Pastor.
I know it was God giving Krissy and I (and others) those feelings.
I had a very real dream. Two actually. The first one, I was listening to Toby Mac, and suddenly he was here with me. Well, we were in another place but he was with me. The song we were listening to was mostly music with few words, just some rock style awesome guitar solos. I was enjoying it, and he asked me to help him with designing a game that goes to the song. It also needed more words, to that tune, and the subject had to be the birth of Jesus. So a rock style guitar based Christmas song. Yeah. Right. I was at a loss, and he was on a deadline. The dream ended with me calling a friend of mine who has written a few songs and asking her opinion and help...I woke myself up cause I was literally explaining the situation to her on the phone in my dream, and I was talking in my sleep IRL.
Alas, I was not talking to her on the phone and when I awoke, Toby Mac was nowhere to be found.
So I go back to sleep, and this time Im in the truck with dad. Im picking him up from somewhere and it started thundering and lightning and just pouring down rain. Im trying to get the door of the truck closed and just waterfalls of water are just soaking me and the inside of the truck. Dad somehow got in, and there was a loud thunderclap and lightning streak and then a shaking that was like an earthquake. I felt water gushing from the roof and I realized that we had been struck by lightning and there was a hole in the roof of the truck. water was pouring in, and I shoved the truck into drive and we got out of there. I was covering the hole with my hand as best I could but still getting soaked, all the while dad was yelling at me to just flap over the foam ceiling covering and screw it back in. I kept yelling back and showing him that a mere screw was not going to fix this problem. He was getting madder and so was I. We finally got to another place, and it was still storming but I managed to park under a place where the rain wouldnt get to us. And I realized I forgot his power chair at the first place.
I heard another huge thunderclap and I woke up. I was expecting to be drenching wet, but I was dry. And I literally got up, went into the living room and looked out the windows to see the storm. Its all perfectly dry and clear outside. But I HEARD that storm. I could feel it SO REAL. But it didnt exist except in my dream.
Now I have been awake from that over two hours and cant go back to sleep. I still feel like its storming outside. I cant shake the feeling.
And my alarm just went off...LOL its time to get up and dressed to take dad to dialysis. Nice.
No more meatball sandwiches before bed. Apparently that was a mistake.
Another note before I run off to the shower...
I am sitting here crying and have been since I woke up from the second dream. For like two hours. Not for any reason. Im not upset or sad or even so happy as to cry, but my eyes have been pouring tears and my nose is all sniffly. I cant stop! I dont have a clue why this is happening except it may be allergies. Other than that I am fine.
Shower time.
That is all.
:hi: Morning all. It is my friday...
*Hugs Mel tight* I love ya.
I had a impacting but mysterious dream once that I still don't know if I understand completely. I was a toddler in church, fell asleep on the pew and my g'pa who passed when I was 4 , picked me up and carried me to the car. I never remembered what he felt like all these years but THAT dream was so real I even smelled his scent, felt the wetness of my drool on his suit. Then I was bawling at his funeral and woke up bawling as if I was still right there. It stuck with me for days. I was to see my dad after 14yrs of not seeing him a couple weeks later. It was a big deal to me privately. Whatever all the psychology was, it was certainly connected to change in my life.
Was all that rain your tears? Can't be fixed with a simple solution. Psychology and spiritual dreams are fascinating to me.
I got to make 200 cookies for a thing at our church this wknd. I've never made so many so it's hard to know how much of what I'm going to need. I made 4 batches of both kinds last night and put them in the fridge. My best success with cookies isn't so much the recipe but having cold firm dough to put into a ready hot oven.
Morning. I'm at work.

Yeah, that's what I say every time about eating pizza before bed. But I still do it the next time...
Well...I got my rain.
When we left for dialysis it was dry as can be. I picked dad up at 11, it was still dry...I looked out about 1ish, and it was raining a bit but not really hard, and now for the last 2 hours its been STORMING! JUST LIKE my dream. It sounds exactly like what I heard this morning.
Rumbling and shaking the church building. The lightning has been great! And water water water. Right before it came down hard, I had to go to the store for mom...I went in it was raining, and when I got out, not 10 mins later, it was pouring. I was drenched! I got home before lightning could zap the truck though!
Yay for rain! (this time)
It has been a slow day at work, so I have spent most of my time sorting through a lot of CDs that a friend from Oklahoma gave me. :)
I just ate the last of the leftover meatballs. Yeah I know...not a wise idea after last night, but there were only 6 left and I ate it with some leftover chicken and rice...not on garlic bread this time....so maybe that will make the difference.
I had to finish up the little leftovers we had. Now they are all gone and I feel accomplished cause there was no waste.
I made it through the day. Had a really uplifting moment when I discovered a post from one of our saints thanking me for obeying God last night, saying the message really touched her and changed her. It made me feel like maybe God can use me after all.
Then I came home and mowed the yard prior to taking the lawnmower to Kim, who is having a bad week internetwise. She's like me, dial up only and the recent rains have shorted something out, so she is internet-less.
I think I got too hot mowing though....was weak as water after I got done and had the beginnings of a headache. I sat down in the a/c and drank some water, and I'm back to full charge..
And that's sharing a la Roscoe tonight. :P
:smirk2:
Well, he lives.
Howdy, everyone. :hi:
I woke myself up talking once last night, but no bizarre dreams that I can remember. I feel like I slept pretty good....till Dad came in here waking me up cause he couldn't find the flour.
We just got a letter in the mail with a couple of nice pictures. One of the pics I've already seen on the forum.
I should go check the mail.
I almost did this morning, but I decided not to. I didnt want to get out of the truck.
I forgot about the mail this morning when I took dad to dialysis...and I wont be driving anymore today, so I guess it will have to wait.
Im riding with someone to a baby shower in Lucedale, then Im spending the night with Kimber. Then she will bring me back home/church in the morning. I am excited! I get a whole day and night away, and get to spend it with some amazing people.
I didnt have much money, so I got the baby a hooded towel with duckies on it, with matching washclothes, and a rubber duck.
Go figure. ;)
Now Im fixing to make Mom a smoothie I guess, and get my stuff together, sweep and mop the house (as per my phone bill agreement) and then get ready to go. As of right now, I have aprox 4 hours to get that stuff done. If I hurry and do it, I can come in here and play my stupid Farm Heros game Im addicted to. :smirk2:
Where is everyone?
Ive done all I said I was going to do, AND did a load of laundry, AND took a nap.
Yet I am still the only one here. Hmm.
I'm here. Didn't have the best day yesterday....First I got a letter in the mail saying I'd overlooked paying the last months tuition for Cheys school, Instead of calling me, they wait and send me a bill AFTER it's accrued $40 in late fees, which they will not remove...never mind the principal has saw me numerous times since school was out without saying a word. Then I go to pay that and her registration fees, and they've upped them. Long story short I am out $500 I had to scrape up, and now I'm ticked. This next year, I will not help with any of their fundraisers which they have about twice a day it seems. They've nearly caused me to put Chey in a public school. I so don't want her to deal with that, though, I will lick their boots this time...but they are about to get me wound up.
And that's why I didn't post yesterday. I was scraping up money and twisting the budget, while struggling to remember I am a man of God, not the borderline thug/cop I was. 'Cause my inner thug REALLY wanted to come out. :smirk2:
That really stinks, Roscoe. What a blessing though that you can put your baby girl in private school. We are unable to do so and so yet another year of homeschooling for Hannah.
Finishing a few more cookies. Then to finish up the church. I'm out of cream for my coffee but a n oatmeal peanut butter cookie dipped in it pacifies me. :)
Have a great day all!

It IS a blessing, and I don't mean to complain...it was just the way they did things that annoyed me. And what I had to do to come up with that money. $500 does not grow on trees around my house. Still, I am thankful that I had the means to do so, even though it means mac and cheese for the family for a bit. Been times in my life I couldn't have done that. In fact, should it happen again, now is one of those times. :laughhard:
Homeschooling for us, sadly isn't an option. Options are 1) private school and remain broke or 2) public school, adjust Lou's hours, and be unhappy with the wordly influence on Chey. And I really don't know how well she would do in that environment. She excels in one-on-one, self-paced style environment. In a large class she might not do so well..she is easily distracted. :smirk2:
Oh she can be focused... try distracting her from the computer game.
Phew! I'm exhausted.
Understandable Roscoe. It's not for everyone.

Oooh, a mixer! :great: One of the best tools to have in the kitchen.
Yes! I will have so much fun with that!!
Quick request for prayer, guys. My sister Tami's (you guys don't know her but she's been known to lurk here from time to time) husband was found dead this morning. He had seizure problems and was on medication for them, but apparently had a seizure last night and fell into some clothes/bedding, suffocating. My sister is having a VERY rough time with this, so please keep her in prayers. They have been together for over twenty years.
Unfortunately KitchenAid mixers, though powerful, are not *quite* powerful enough to knead sourdough bread for me. Even with the dough hook, it bogged down and started making a funny burnt smell... They're great for just about everything else though. Especially whipping cream. :D
Bobby: Ouch. Will do bro.
Will pray Roscoe. I'm sorry.
I LOOOOOVE my KA mixer for bread. I haven't used sourdough on it yet though. I want to some day have the KA attachments. A-mazing.
Great church today. Pastor's 25th pastoral anniversary.
Just back this afternoon and catching up.
Bobby, I'm sorry about your sister Tami's loss. I came back thru Morrilton this morning, needs factored into me heading back homeward. You were at work then, anyway, right?
Isaac, thanks for the tour guiding, but most of all the friendship. I am happy to have a face (dysfunctional, maybe, but still a face,) to go with our conversations. Isaac's grandmother rocks, and it COULD Potentially be Alleged I threw my fellow bachelor brother under the bus (once or twice or ...)
The only really serious flaw I saw in Isaac was that he has apparently been brainwashed into believing Oklahoma is occupied North Texas, when it is actually Texas is actually the Land Only Fortunate Enough To Be Next To Oklahoma.
Bobby, I will have to arrange the alternative transport we discussed :)
I visited 7 states in 10 days, drove 2744 miles, toured three Civil War and two Revolutionary War sites.
The burns are healing I started the trip with,. Isaac.
Bobby, after rain follows a native Oklahoma son to your blighted state, you Still make fun of us? :nono:
Everything still on for Sat. the 10th in Natchidotches?
I see the fiasco that was not a meetup last year is still a topic. I won't pretend that I find it a happy topic.
John :waving:
My friend Ian died last year for that that very reason. He had a seizure and suffocated himself while in bed. Funny, I have been thinking and talking about him quite a bit the last 4 or five days. His death anniversary date is coming up in October.
I had an amazing weekend! Kimber is just as hilarious as ever! Her house is so cute! And her Brother, parents and I got along great while we were at their house, and I managed NOT to slap her sister, although tempted to several times. :smirk2: We had a great time at our friends party, ate ourselves silly at a Chinese buffet, and then caught her Mama up on all the latest news while gorging out some more on junk food. When we FINALLY crashed into bed at almost midnight, we had serious discussions on baby names and other life topics...and she only had to wake me up once and tell me I was talking in my sleep. (typical) We got up early this morning for church and sunday school, I made coffee for us to drink during class, and then had an amazing shoutdown, snot running worship service.
I think the weekend was a success! I came home and ate leftovers, and took a nap. Twas a good day.
Now I think Im gonna go make some cheese and bean CASE-A-DILL-A-S. (I cant spell that word, and apparently my spelling is so off that even after several tries, spell check still doesnt have a clue...so I sounded it out.)
quesadillas. but phonetically right.
Quesadillas. :). Oops Heather beat me to it.
What an awesome 24hrs for you Mel!
I'm so glad for the body of Christ. Full of love, grace, and forgiveness. The church moves forward. And I'm thankful for the leading of the Spirit, even if its not convenient or fits into MY plans or that I understand it.

Mel, I just reread your post. You wrote that how it sounded and Heather said phonetically correct. Either I misunderstand or you pronounce the 'll's? If so I'm am totally tickled. It's pronounced Case-uh-dee-yas. Not as in accent or region but in all actuality, that is how the word is pronounced.
I might be totally misunderstanding but if you pronounce the L's, I need to call you and hear this! :D
You yankee...dont go knocking us suthernurs...

But then again - you do live in the state no one likes to visit cus too many cousins and sisters and brothers liking each other. :hypocrite: ha

Yes, Jeremy, southerners never cease to entertain me. Speaking of which, we watched a bit of Duck Dynasty awhile back and oh my word. It's so funny, I can barely believe them to be true!

I've been craving taco's sooo bad this past week. Random I know....but I'm broke too, so can't even get one. And I've no meat, or sour cream to make any.
Booo. How do you like your tacos Jenn?
And Roscoe, a lot of Mexican isn't spicy. Have you tried carnitas verde? Beans, tortillas, and cilantro lime rice is a staple which really does help even stuff out. What about fresh guacamole? Now THAT! I could eat all day. Made with whole food ingredients in 5min and super healthy and delicious.

Pretty much any way (sans shredded cheese). lol
I loooove Fuzzy's Taco's (not sure if you guys have them).
They do shredded beef, lettuce, tomato, a garlic sauce that is exclusive to them, cilantro, and feta cheese. *drooling now*
I like regular tacos with meat and sour cream and lettuce and tomatoes.
I like the specialty taco's from Taco Diner (a fancy mexican place we have up here) that are grilled steak seasoned with olive oil, garlic and salt, cilantro, onion, and their specialty exclusive green guacamole sauce. This same restaurant also have these amazinggggg "tacos de brisket" - which is oven-roasted overnight, with melted cheese and sliced avacado. *drooling again*
When I make them at home, I like them meat, lettuce, salsa and sour cream.
Either flour, corn or hard-shell.
I just love tacos. lol

While avacados ARE good for you, they're also high in calories lol...
I do love me some guacamole though...oh my. Chipotle's quac is my fav.
Mmmm, chili relleno... Most of the "mexican" restaurants around here serve just tex-mex junk you could get at taco bell, but there's one place that serves real mexican food. Where most serve a "chili relleno" that is just a slice of pepper covered in meat and cheese, they give you a whole pepper covered in cheese. Sooooo good!
I love all kinds of Mexican foods.
Anyone ever heard of or tried Cowboy Candy? Its Candied Jalapenos. I just made a jar, but I have to wait 8 days for it to be done so I can try it out.
And Isaac, while I was with Kimber this weekend, we passed TWO stores that advertized discount groceries and had big signs out by the road proclaiming bent cans.
I thought of you.
I can never wrap my brain around calories Jenn, because the "fat" in avocados is the kind that tells your body to not retain stored fat cells. It literally signals your body to lose the fat, plus all the nutrition. Calories don't differentiate, so a fake sugar that your body creates fat cells to store that chemical in, is made to seem better than the avocados that signal your body to get rid of those cells. I just can't wrap my brain around that other than understanding it lends short term satisfaction. I can't help but think it lends long term health issues though because I've yet to know anyone that doesn't end up buying some "diet food" just to stay their count and put something in their belly.
BUT! I know going through that process has led to people finding out the information above that does lead to healthier lives... so whatever it takes. If calorie counting helps you take steps toward eating healthier than blessing to you in it. :) *hugs*
Phew! You all are making me hungry!
We don't have any of the places mentioned. But sounds like they are good! We have some small chains here and some family owned ones. Say whatever about immigration but they did bring some awesome food! Iowa has a large Mexican population where there are meat plants and field work.
We have one interesting restaurant that isn't Mexican but Spanish, from Spain. Which means there are Greek and Italian influences in the flavors. It's a fun kind of different!

Well I lost about 21 pounds from August 2012-January 2013 by simply counting calories. It did improve my eating habits, and helped me. I've since then slacked off, and can feel the difference. I haven't gained the weight back, but I've not lost any either. I'm trying to get back on track. It's hard!

I thought of Bobby yesterday. We have a girl at church who is so much like her - right down to having her daddy wrapped around her finger.
And yeah, what Fuzzy said. That's the way I've always heard it.
Speaking of which... when I worked at McD's one thing I liked was to order two crispy snack wraps, plus mushroom, extra cheese, no lettuce. I wouldn't make it into two wraps though - I'd put all the ingredients on one of the tortillas, put the other tortilla over it and put it on the grill with a lot of butter. Chicken/cheese/mushroom quesadilla.

Isaac, do they normally play those types of songs?
We have some awfully modern Praise Team songs. This one might be pushing it though, even for our church. Which is why I thought I would get y'alls opinion.
Well, I had to ask because there is a lot of variance in churches. There are songs some churches use that I don't find worshipful at all. Like the hymnal, Great Speckled Bird. LOL
Besides maybe children's church? I think this song could be used for after service screen closing while people are completely done worshiping. Also, for fun events like bowling and skating church functions.
Speaking of which, we just had a skate night. The rink plays our CDs BUT wouldn't for the stupid games. So for every dumb game they apparently have to have, there was all out worldly music blaring. I didn't want to be the wet blanket on everyone's fun but it really bugged me. Felt like slapping the DJ with my Bible. ;) LOL He was being obstinate on purpose.

Yes,

not going into grand detail for a few reasons, but if anyone thinks to pray for me tomorrow do. 1 doctor, 1 specialist, and a CT scan later I have an appointment for an MRI tomorrow. thanks.
Will do, Heather.
Isaac, did you see my post earlier about the bent can stores?
Melodya, thanks, I've been singing Great Speckled Bird since I read your post earlier. I love that song! I think it's a wonderful song.
Y'all please say a prayer for my dad too..*sigh* I'm so weary of drs and hospitals. Today his foot looked kinda bad, worse than it was last week, so the nurses at wound care were flipping out and wanting him to see his surgeon again. So he goes back to wound care tomorrow after dialysis and the surgeon will be there to look him over. I think he will be admitted and his remaining foot cut off. It looks bad. So we will see.
I'm just frustrated at this whole ordeal.
MelodyB: Yes I saw it. Did you find anything interesting? I can usually find some great stoneground mustard, various sauces and spices that you just can't get at the regular grocery store.
MelodyA: Have you ever listened to the words of that song? That's a mean ole bird! :P
And about the skating rink, better be glad I wasn't there. I'd go out to my minivan and bring in my Lunchbox (tm) amp. I WILL win a volume war. :D
Heather: Sorry to hear that.
We didn't go in, we just commented that we thought you would like it.
And about the song. The Great Speckled Bird is a metaphor about the bride of Christ. The church.
Just for those who may not have realized that. If any.
And no takers on the candied jalapeños? I figured I'd have someone who has heard of or tried them before.
I almost can't wait the 8 days to try them!
I don't do peppers. :o
Morning all. Only today and tomorrow left to work (here) this week. I'm taking off Thur and Fri to make cakes for the wedding.
I know the song, just don't find it worship-service-useful, and that's what we were all talking about. The message is powerful, just like the message is in the song Isaac asked about, and probably more applicable than ever. Maybe someone could redo it.
Isaac, that would have been entertaining. But alas everyone was polite. I hope we go somewhere different next time.
Lifting you both up before the King Mel & Heather.
We had a very loud thunderstorm early his morning. I love storms but once was so loud it truly startled me out of my sleep.
Oh and finding 30/34 pants for a decent price is a huge feat these days. Lol. If only I could chunk Andrew up, it'd be so much easier. Lol
I wear size 30-34. What kind of pants are you looking for? I can usually find what I need at Wal-Mart, Goodwill and/or Ebay. Found some used work pants for $2 a piece on Ebay.
MelodyB: No thanks. I'm allergic to pain. I will occasionally do horseradish on a sandwich, but that's about it.
I only like horseradish mixed with sour cream and a bit of greek seasoning, makes an amazing dip!
I actually wish I had some kind of dip right now. I have some chicken nuggets going into the oven and Im looking for a different sort of dip than just plain ketchup or ranch dressing.
I made copycat Canes sauce yesterday, but not in the mood for that today. I need something creamy.
WHO are you calling a dip?! :P
:hi: I'm up and about today. Rare day- we have "night fire" training excercise today, Wednesday, and Thursday. So I got those days off, as I will be "working" starting at 8ish tonight.. What about chick file's sauce? Or cream cheese-salsa dip? Any seasonings in sour cream are pretty much awesome.
Oh and on Pinterest there is a dip to go with a brown sugar wing recipe that is amazzzzing. It's roasted red peppers puréed with goat cheese, (basically feta cheese.)
Too late. I ate the nuggets with ranch dressing.
We dont have a chick fl a. I would LOVE to have some of the Polynesian sauce for my nuggets. And we are out of cream cheese. I had some sour cream, but I didnt really have anything I wanted to put in it. lol

Nacogdoches is about an hour from us going South and Paris is about 2 hours from us going North... so 3 hrs from Nac is probably about right. If you go see the Pickards, he might put you to work on building that new church. ;)

Perhaps to an altar of your own....
To repent!
Now that I have a full keyboard and can go into detail.
I woke up last Wednesday morning in atrocious pain. Long story short I have a lesion on my left kidney. They don't know if it's from the fall or from surgery. They don't know the extent of the damage until I go for an MRI which was moved from today to Thursday.
On the other hand Brandon went to the doctor today for the first time in 8 years. They don't know if it's his sugar or thyroid, but they did find a nodule on his thyroid that will be ultrasounded the same day as my MRI.
one of my sisters just called, which usually turns into hiding how depressing it is.
My cyber-stalker started 4 internet chats with m in seven hours yesterday, which sort of feels like 4 too many.
Anyone at NAYC? 13 hours on the road and we finally made it.
Nope, we didnt go after all.
Andrew will be there with his youth group tomorrow around 2.
Newsman: Popularity is SUCH a burden, ain't it.
mini: I couldn't go for financial reasons. To wit: The traveling I did do, my wallet is still recovering from. I hope to be able to go to general conference though.
In local sharing, I didn't get a lot of sleep last night. Usually I can just eat more chocolate, but even with the chocolate I ate tonight at work I was about ready to pass out. I think the heat and the lack of sleep combined finally got to me.
Tired. Drove to Nacogdoches tonight after work for a shower for Chel.
 I'm at work.
Where is everyone?
I slept in, then have been tinkering with my ham radio, putting up a new antenna. Too hot for that mess. :o
I slept in too. Now just waiting till time to finish dinner, eat, and then go babysit my Kira while her Mommy takes Olivia to the library before prayer.
I'm SO far behind in sharing. Thought it was gonna take me a year and a day to catch up. :o

Home in bed after having a bad reaction to the contrast given with the MRI. I feel like my blood is boiling. It's not a fun feeling.
Was thinking about the NAYC thing and I guess I know why it didn't work out for me to go.
That makes total sense. No doubt your group would be super worried about you right now instead of being out and about. I'm sorry you feel so terrible. :headrub: Praying for good results and solutions.
Yesterday was exhausting. Up before 5am making breakfast and helping Andrew get on his way. I cleaned the kitchen, did the dishes, washed down the bathroom.... and then hit a wall of tiredness so I went back to bed... lol The perk of being a homemaker.
-Something that bothers me or maybe overwhelms me often: is how slow it seems we grow. Well, I say we, but I really mean me. I could see doing so much more... but I don't. I know what and how to do yet something else that would elevate my spiritual walk or improve myself... but I don't. And while it makes me very frustrated with myself, I still don't do it. We have this ONE life to become who we will be for eternity. There's no more repentance or growth after this life. Who we are is who we are when we die. The relationship I establish here on earth is how I will know Him for eternity. Physical stuff and situations here on earth don't really hinder me from drawing closer. In every instance, I either draw close to Him or not, I either handle it my way or seek His. If all that circumstance suddenly vanished away, what would still stand is whatever my relationship is with Jesus. Some days I feel like I'm wasting so much of His mercy and blessings, that it's beyond me, why He continues to have abundantly more. And I don't mean sin per-say, just lack.
How deep His love is for us! That He would continue to call us closer, even in our spiritual laziness, for our entire life, without impatience. Even if we reject 99% of what he has for us because it would take more work we aren't willing to do, He doesn't withhold the 1% but eagerly gives. I don't mean to sound backslidden either, but that the vastness God offers is overwhelming compared to the piddly amount I put forth an effort to receive. Everyday, all day, God is speaking/calling/showing us towards more. I feel accomplished if I answer with what feels like a good prayer/devotional time. Yet there is the REST of the day, EVERY day!
Ok... I'll stop. Am I the only one that ever feels that way? I don't care that life can be busy. I take time for what I want. I'm taking time right now for GP! lol
I have the groom's cake in the oven. I decided to tackle the easier one first.
MY, I'm thankful that His mercies are new every morning.
I'm being lazy today. This nightfire thing has jacked with my sleep schedule...I didn't get to bed until 3 am this morning. Tonight will conclude that, I'll get up early tomorrow and take Lou to work... Then I will spend the day getting the car ready, bills paid, ect for our journey to a foreign land. As soon as Lou gets off at 2 :30, we will be southbound and down....
What's going on this weekend, besides weeping and wailing in Indiana?

What's going on this weekend, besides weeping and wailing in Indiana?
Let's see....Seth has indigestion over Chel's choice of Mexican food, Miniskirt and Chellebelle are in the land of banjos for youth conference, Meller's getting things ready for next year's crop of herbs, Lou and I are making a sojourn to a foreign land, sans ham radio, :cry2: , Isaac is working, RainbowJingles and HER mexican food I believe are having her grandmother's memorial service- all lightheartedness aside, they WILL be in my prayers-Jenn, Mel, and the rest I have no clue.....
Lands. I have a majillion things to do tomorrow too.
Actually, speaking of work, I'm getting overtime this week. I might just make it to General Conference after all this year.
Tired. We got all the cakes cooked and the icing on the German chocolate one. Glad for Dina's help.
Ahh...packing up everything in preparation for our jaunt to Texas as soon as Lou gets off of work. I believe it will be the first trip away without taking Chey since she was two. I thought it was the first ever, but we did have a one nighter in Eureka Springs when she was two and we'd went to a car show...
Almost done with the cakes.
with the expertise of Chel's father, I would've expected barbecue at the reception.
He still calls and tells me I almost killed him that day he visited here. I sure put a hurtin' on him! lol
Isaac! My brother and one of my cousins are going to General Conference this year. And I'm pretty sure my brother would like to meet the guy I made the capes for. :)
:beret:
What a drive. We have made it to Nagodoches, Texas......I am tarred..
September weather is far too hot to wear those cold weather capes. I will of course be wearing my black leather "dress shoes" toe shoes.

in TX there is usually only cake & punch at a reception but Chel has always wanted a baked potato bar, so that's what she is getting.
A baked potato bar...that is the first Ive ever heard of that at a wedding...leave it to Chel to come up with that! LOL
I have butterflies in my stomach thinking about Chel's special day today. A baked potato bar is an awesome idea. They often have full dinners up here by never a potato bar. Cool!
Isaac, GC is in October. And 2yrs. ago when we went it was ridiculously freezing with wind to boot. Check the weather report. St. Louis gets colder and more snow than we do her in KC.
Neat. I might bring my brown cape, beige shirt, tan pants and brown toe shoes. Or I might just wear the Merrel shoes with no toes. :D
As for receptions, here in TN I've seen them all, from cake/punch to full dinners and everything in between. My aunt had a chocolate fountain at her wedding reception, with strawberries, marshmallows, pineapple, pound cake squares, etc to dip in it. After the reception she was questioning whether the chocolate fountain was a success. I said, "Look around - every kid in the building is wearing chocolate on his shirt, and so are some of the adults. It was a hit." :D
On the other end of the spectrum, I've helped the pastor with a wedding that was very... um... well, they didn't put any effort at all in it... and the pastor gave me some money and sent me out to Subway to get a party platter of subs for their "reception."
On our first wedding, our "reception" was whatever we grabbed at the Mcdonald's on the way outta town. Our second, or church wedding, we had the traditional cake, punch and those nasty little mints.....
And we are up and about. Fixing to go meet some friends for an IHOP breakfast! Lou has done told me she intends to run me around town all day, until wedding time..
Ha! The towns not THAT big. ;)
It is if you take the time to find all the thrift stores and go through all their clothes and CDs...
still no word on my MRI. Brandon has to now have a CT on his thyroid but bloodwork came back good. I'm housesitting for a lady my mom works with. for the next week I'm responsible for a boxer, a beagle, a Pomeranian, and 3 indoor/outdoor cats.
our wedding we are having hamburgers, hotdogs, fries and cake.
And....it was a beautiful wedding. Just beautiful. And of course, I cried. Weddings always do that to me. Shut up, or I'll shoot you and you will cry, too. Got to shake Bro. Clarence's hand, and tormet Rat's Nest in person, well worth the drive. I loved the fact that after the vows were said, before presenting the newly weds, they called all ministers to come up and pray for them... Very cool.

I just wish I'd had more time to visit with y'all. I was so distracted before the wedding, Bobby had to come and find me. I'm so glad he did, I'd have hated to only have seen them from across the church.
I'm completely frustrated with the housesitting situation right now. I completely understand now why the lady did not want to board her dogs. They have no issue going outside to urinate but when it comes to the other bodily function they just do that all over the house. My job title should just be poo picker upper instead this week. PLUS how does one have a fancy, newer, nicer house with a brand new GMC Terrain, a Range Rover, and a Lexus SUV in the driveway and have mold halfway up your shower curtains?!?!?! I'm thinking of stopping at the dollar store to recitify that situation. That's worse than the poo [granted I work at a vets office so my view on it may be different from everyone elses....]
Ruby-We are not officially engaged as I do not have a ring yet, but we have set a date. June 28, 2014. It'll be our 3 year anniversary so we're just gonna go ahead and get married on the same day. The reason I don't have a ring is Mr Sneaky Pants has been in cahoots with a jeweler he found of Etsy and has been designing it for a few months with them. I have no idea what it's gonna look like but it's not your typical ring is all I've been told.
It's been a while since I logged on. But when I saw the post and thread, i knew I had to log on again, and say congrats Chel, may you be eternally happy! :hi:
UGH.
Glad today is OVER.
Get to babysit tomorrow! I should go to bed.
It's already time for Ben to leave tomorrow. Glad Dina gets to stay a bit longer.

HeatherB: Yeah, cats are cool that way. :D
MelodyB: Were they chasing you all night, or did you just have to avoid them?
Speaking of the Dodge store... I don't know about there, but here they have a big sign with a rather mother-type chicken with an oven mitt. Does it seem creepy to anyone else that a chicken is portrayed serving fried chicken? It's like those popcorn chicken cups at Wal-Mart deli, that have a picture of chickens with sunglasses, watching a movie, eating popcorn... chicken.
It's about time someone charted this.

Where's everybody at?!? Post, thou varlets! I have commanded it.
Burrito and Chel are AWOL of course, Fuzzy is still cleaning up the mess... Dunno where the others are. I'm doing my part though, I'm posting.
And why, pray tell, callest thou me a varlet? I trow I am of more noble lineage than that. As preachers keep saying, I'm a son of the King. :D
I'm still playing catch up at work. What I'm working on now I'm usually done with by 11. :smirk2:
I don't even know what a varlet is.
I've been here. Waiting on someone to post. Had an emotional morning.
Spent the afternoon writing my research paragraph and my final exam essay for my Summer Comp I class.
Now I'm heading home.
I had to avoid the alligators, and they were EVERYWHERE. It was horrible. I didnt get hurt. But it was a horrible dream.
I'm still babysitting. Krissy will be here when she gets here. She said he was going by the store to pick up a few things while I stay with the kiddos.
Everytime I think its the worst monday ever another one rolls around to take it's place.......
What a day.
Goodnight. Hope there is no alligators around tonight.
Last night I had a nightmare myself, or what passes for one with me. I dreamed I fell asleep at work, and when I woke up it was after 3am. Someone must have noticed the parts were coming off the furnace line with nobody catching them, because someone stacked the parts in trays and tubs all around the catching end. But everyone else had gone home at midnight (quitting time) and left me there all alone. There was nothing for me to do but go home myself, but I knew I'd catch it the next day...
Yes, I know, even my nightmares are boring. That's about the worst my dreams get these days. I don't really mind.
Morning, all. Back at work on a rainy "hump day" for me...Wonder if the newlyweds have came up for air yet? They WERE becoming prolific posters, and now, not a peep..:pound:

Thank God for cherry coke. I probably shouldn't be drinking soda because of my kidney, but then again it would probably help if my doctor cared enough to look at the MRI and let me know whats going on, what I should do [or not do], and how to make it better. Frustrated doesn't cover it. I've hurt all day. I'm about to go up in that doctors office and need bail money........

Heather...Im no Dr, but when my kidneys act up and/or I have a UTI, I swear by pure 100% cranberry juice. NOT cocktail, and no blends either...straight cranberry. Preferably Northland or Ocean Spray. My brother was suffering from kidney stones 10 years ago, and he and his wife were unable to conceive, even though nothing was wrong medically with either one of them. He started this cranberry juice, he HATED it, But he forced down 3 glasses a day at least, and within 2 weeks his pain and stones were gone, and about 3 months later, they announced their first pregnancy. He credits cranberry juice for his first child. lol
The dr told him later that your kidney and all your organs down there can make a difference in your reproductive system, even if its not the system itself. So him having kidney stones made a difference.
Not saying you need a pregnancy...but Im trying to sell the cranberry cure. ;) It WORKS! Get some! I know it helps me when I have those problems. It cant hurt anything.
Rubes...I would LOVE to! I was taking a nap myself when you posted that. ;)
My phone is finally cut off. Haha. They gave me 12 extra days on it before they cut it off. I am very thankful. Tomorrow is the day we can pay the bill so I only lost one day when it could have been 13 without a phone! lol

Im making rotisserie chicken and dressing tomorrow.
I bet MelodyB bought stock in a cranberry bog.
I wish!
I used to not like it, its kinda strong, and tart, but Ive learned to love it. If I could afford it, I would drink at least one glass every day, but that junk is expensive to drink all the time, so I just use it to self medicate. LOL It comes out cheaper than Drs and pills for a cure. And more pleasant than Drs poking around with testing and stuff.

Spinach.
Spinach, egg, milk, cheddar, Parmesan, salt & pepper.
I used a puff pastry too instead of pie crust. I don't like pie crust.
I dont care for pie crust either. When I have pie, I usually eat the innards and leave the crust. lol
*giggle* Glad I'm in good company. I'm not so fond of most pie crust myself.
:beret:
I love homemade pie crust, but not so much store bought or graham. Puff pastry crust is almost sinful it's so divine. I could be bribed with a mere puff pastry. lol
You have inspired me to go get some cranberry juice, Mel. It's got to be better than the bit of ACV I've been trying to down with water in the mornings. I'm not sure it's doing anything when followed by a cup or two of coffee and then iced tea throughout the day. :)
I was asked to speak next midweek service (next Tuesday). I've taught Sunday school for years, I've taught Bible studies, and I taught at a midweek service years ago at our previous church. I'm not nervous... yet. I've had 3wks to pray and prepare. I feel like the Lord let me know right away what to share. But oh my word, I don't have an inkling that this is ever a more than once thing. So, I don't want to just go up there and share a nice thought. I want what God has given me to also be anointed from a consecrated heart/life that someone might receive it and be blessed! So, THAT has me feeling completely abase? small? realistic? I can talk, but Lord Almighty, let me first be anointed.
So that's where I've been and where my mind has been. That and Andrew starts his first day of highschool tomorrow. If anyone's interested, I can share his testimony from NAYC. I'm so very glad he got to go.
Share, share!
:bustamove:
:hi:
will cranberry juice help a lesion/bruise though? interesting thought. and no i do not want nor ever will want a pregnancy! Brandon and I are on the same page with that one and have been for 2.5 years. When we started dating was when I was going through that pre-cancer junk and I was up front and honest with the possibility that I can't have kids. Lo and behold he has some previous health things that he may not be able to either. I made the decision I didn't want my lifes happiness to be determined by the reproduction of my specific bloodline. I've seen too many women wailing in the altar year after year and being bitter and upset. Don't get me wrong I love babies! But I've never had that 'I must have one!' gene that most women get. Plus I have quite a few family members who were adopted and I would be more than glad to open my home to a child in that capacity.
Heather you have pets too - those are kids. lol
I've decided when it's time for me to have a duplex/condo/house or something with a yard...I'm getting a bull dog type mix, and a pygmy goat.
Heather, if it doesnt help your condition, at least it cant hurt it, so its worth a shot.

And we got some too. We DIDN'T need it, really, but I ain't complaining. Other than about the way my lawn is growing. If Meller planted her grass in Arkansas, she'd have a bumper crop this year. :smirk2:
I bet makes for some awesome tomatoes!
I haven't grown a thing this year. I planted tulips but my landlord weeded them just as they sprouted. Lol
Speaking of tomatoes, time for a tomato sandwich. I like this time of year. Lots of people have more tomatoes than they can handle, so guess who gets some... :D
I had sliced tomatos with my leftover quiche. :fork:
I don't think cranberry juice will help my 'fatty lipoma' though....
Doctor finally called. I have a lipoma which the majority of the time is a fatty tumor. They think it's benign but will check again in 3 months to see if it's grown any. If it has then we'll go the route of removing and biopsy, etc. For the pain they've told me to pretty much grin and bear it unless I want to become a pill head. So otc ibuprofren is going to become my new best friend.
Jenn-I have a friend who has a goat. She even goes hiking with us with her little harness on. Coolest pet ever.

Ha! See!! Goats make great pets! I read that pygmy goats like friends - thus having the dog as well. Get them both as babies and let them grow up together...perfect!! Love it! Can't wait.
Ibuprophen pwns tylenol because you can keep throwing ibuprophen at it until the pain stops. Too much tylenol kills the liver.
Get a cat too, and train it to ride the goat.
Too much iboprophen isn't good either.
Upon further research, most lipoma's are not painful. Unless it's in the kidneys or liver. Which lucky me, mine is. Sigh. But I know a big ole God and I believe in Him and His healing powers. Can I get an amen?
AMEN!!
And I know the correct pronunciation of lipoma!
My cousin has a lump on his back that is harmless, and its a big joke to him to go around asking everyone to feel his lipoma!
A fatty tumor, huh? I'm glad it's not something more serious. God is able to heal!
*considers just referring to her backside as lipomas*
You could have some fun with that, Heather. Just cause you can. :)
:spitlaugh: Melodya! I cannot believe you just said that! Buahahaha!
Anyhow.

:beret:
Andrew was one of a few asked to testify the other night. Now Andrew came home from NAYC exhausted but pumped. He shared a lot of how it all was and how Thursday night he "really got a blessing." The next couple of days more unfolded as he told me how in awe he was that the HG was so powerful that there was an intense unity. People were praying for each other without having had met. He said at one point he was off by himself a bit and really became broken, like never before.
As he was considering what he should say for his testimony, he shared that at the end of the school year he had been struggling to not give into worldly conformity. I remember him saying a few months back that he felt closer to his school friends than his youth group. He doesn't see his classmates outside of school. How my kids get along is a direct indication for how they're doing. It may not be that way for every family but when my kids are staying even fairly prayed up with a right spirit, they are more like friends, especially in the summer. It's not been one of our best summers this year.
He said he was beginning to think something was wrong with him as well because he could feel the HG and speak in tongues but did not feel very emotional. Which he means to be bawling and snottin' all over the altar. Lol. But on Thursday his heart was poured out before The Lord and he felt a change. I can see the change!
I thought that was the jist of what he'd testify of. Nope. He got up there and said how he had forgotten who he was in God and his purpose before NAYC but God refreshed that. And then he started telling the youth to not forget who they are and what callings God has placed on their lives. And on he went, half choked up. Today I seen him post on their youth FB page to mobilize and impact their schools this year.
It's amazing what God can set in motion in one experience with Jesus. It may not be a sensational story but to a kid who was the only Apostolic in his school of 900 and this year one of two in a school of 2K and feeling the pressure, it strengthened him, gave him discernment and confidence in his identity once again.
Lady JennJenn... hmmm...
I blessed you for that, Melodya, cause it blessed me. :)
I liked your idea MelodyB...so I blessed her too.
Awesome, MY.

I ordered what people are going to throw at me today! And it's not flower petals, dead tomatoes or watermelons!
So what was it that was ordered for people to throw? We never got an answer...lol
You weren't there, so you didn't know. Neither was I, so I didn't know. And the others ain't tellin so I guess we who couldn't make it to the wedding will go to the grave never knowing.

Sprinkles for a Burrito's wedding? Well... maybe he's one of those deep-fried ice cream burritos.
Haha...Nice.
Mayhap I'm just captivated by the beauty of your (electronic) presence, Lady JennJenn. ...... or maybe, ....

Don't be hmmm'ing me!!!
Right.
Just 2 more nights in this atrocious house!!! Thankfully the micromanaging sister hasn't called me [yet] today.
How long has it been since Seth posted?
Monday morning.
That has to be some sort of record. He may be depressed after the events of last Saturday. :ugly:
He keeps posting about the Harper Valley PTA on FB.
I can't remember, who is Kkay again, and why does she pretty much only post for us to pray for things she wants? Im all for praying for people but it feels like a fast food prayer order. Do any of you know her?
:hi:
I was reading a book yesterday, and this line caught my attention:
"Her name was Roscoe."
Let me be the first to tell you, through out the rest of the book, all I could think of is a little chunky cop dressed up in drag.
:ugly:
I was also wondering where Seth went... and who would close out the thread when it gets full?
MellowYellow: Um... there has to be a more tactful way to say that.
mini: Now I'm curious why any "her" would be named Roscoe.
In local news, I have determined I am definitely going to General Conference this year. Will I see any of you there?
Because she was a officer I guess.
Im eating a salad.
Its not the best it could be cause I kinda messed it up. I bought croutons to go with the lettuce and grape tomatoes I had, and I chopped some sliced turkey meat to go with it and topped it with shredded cheese. Sounds ok right? Then I failed to see if we had ranch dressing...there was one lone squirt in the bottle, so I thought, Ill just add some balsamic dressing...I just added a little and it wasn't good, so I took the empty ranch bottle and added some buttermilk to it and shook it up so to get all the ranch out, and poured that on there....
Its O K. Would have been perfect if I had enough ranch to start with.
I think Seth is going thru mid-life crisis.

All his women are getting married....well except the best two....me and you.
:hi: I am here. And I am NOT in drag, as the Mini-stir suggests. I am, however, dragging....Lands. I'd planned on spending my day off cleaning around the house, doing some yard work that has been long overdue. Wednesday night, Bro wilson asked if I could meet him at church for some yard work there, so this morning I went out and met him and his grandson. Let me tell you, that ditch that didn't look long at all felt like it was ten miles when I was attacking it with a Weedeater.
Anyway, I got it done...went by a pawnshop and scored a $50 Homelite chainsaw I've been needing, and a $20 Powerwasher. Haven't tried the Powerwasher yet,but the chainsaw runs. I nearly lost all Godliness when I got it home though. Blasted thing wouldn't start, and then when I did get it started, it smoked like a freight train. I was at the point of throwing it across the yard, yelling, when it smoothed out and ran perfectly. It apparently just wanted to try my patience, of which I have very little. :smirk2:
Now, I've came in, put some chicken patties in pasta sauce in the crockpot. We shall had a version of Parmesian Chicken of Italian Chicken Sandwiches tonight. Not what I planned, but Lou put the Pork Chops I had in the fridge into the deepfreeze and didn't tell me. So no porkchops tonight.
I rarely work on Saturdays but I must work tomorrow. But it's 5 hours of overtime and it's 5 hours away from this horrible dogs. I get to pack up and leave here in 16 hours. I will NEVER housesit here again!
So tired tonight for no real reason. Think I'm heading to bed.
Hello.
We think Dad may have had a small heart attack during church tonight. But he refuses to go to the hospital.
SMH. My parents...go to the hospital for every little ailment, but when something happens, they wont go. Cant do anything but wait and see when he gets like that.
In other news, this apartment STINKS. I have some serious cleaning and laundry to do tomorrow. Then about three o clock, Kimber and I are going to Pensacola to the Stoneking revival.
I still do some thread-locking and opening, Isaac, though not a much threadjacking as I used to do.
I am so tired of being sick EVERY. SINGLE. MORNING.
I cough and hack and a few times a week I even throw up. Then I get up and dressed and Im ok all day, till nighttime when I battle heartburn all night and repeat the sick process in the morning. No matter how early or late I get up. Every day.
Blah.
Im up now though...gonna take dad to dialysis then I cant come home and go back to sleep, I have to get the apartment back in order, its driving me crazy.
Ok so. I'm taking a small break.
I got up, put my sheets and blankets in the wash, took dad to dialysis, stopped at Hardee's and got mom and I some breakfast, came home, ate, put the sheets and stuff in the dryer, gathered up all the towels and washcloths and put them on to wash, hung up or folded all my clean clothes and put them away, gathered up the dirty ones to wait to be washed, sprayed down my mattress with fabreeze, and moved to the kitchen. In the kitchen I put on a pot of beans in the crock pot, unloaded and re-loaded the dishwasher, and wiped the counters.
All before 7am. :D I feel accomplished even though I'm not done.
Next, I'm gonna make some sweet tea, turn on the dishwasher, take the garbage out, and sweep and mop. Then I'll be done. Somewhere in there I have to change over the laundry, and make my bed back up. Then I gotta shower and go pick dad up.
THEN maybe I'll be done and this place won't look and smell so bad.
Oh! And I'm gonna bake a cake. Just cause I can and after I get the house clean, I want it to really smell good and the best way to do that is bake a cake.
HOUSE. IS. CLEAN.
All except Moms room. Thats her problem.
Waiting for the floor to dry so I can get a shower and go to the store to buy eggs to bake the cake.
Well. Look at you go....And on the other side of the spectrum, I have done nothing so far. Closest thing to an accomplishment I've had all morning was putting the dog out and pouring a bowl of cereal. I may be overdoing it. :P
MelodyB made me tired just reading all that...
I got a cake in the oven, timer set on both the microwave and my phone, I've showered and picked dad up. He is happily resting in his bed, and I am currently laying on top of my clean bed gonna take a doze while my cake is baking. It takes an hour and a half. Then I'll get up, put away the clothes that are currently drying, get dressed for church, and wait for Kimber to come pick me up so we can head to Pensacola!
I can't wait!!!
Pensacola?
*checks music collection*
Do you know the church that put out "Brownsville Worship - Music from the Pensacola Revival"?
I'm in the home stretch!!!!!! Literally just a couple hours until I can go home! So excited!!!!!! :bouncy:
HeatherB: Talking about those dogs reminds me of my cousin's dogs that I was dog-sitting for about a week, a couple or three months ago. The older one would let out a *I like to use words that offend people. I don't think it's wrong, and I don't care if it offends people*, then when she smelled it she would look at you like "How dare you?" and walk away in disgust.
I'm not sure if I dislike the dogs or the crazy sister more. Today she called me at work to ask if I knew how to use a washer and dryer.....really?!?!?!?!?!?
Went to some garage sales. Found adina a denim skirt for a quarter. :D
Nope, I am not familiar with Brownsville church. But I have heard of them before. Just never been to that church. Ive only ever been to Bro Kinseys church there.
I'm home!!!!!!!!!
They did a great version of "I went to the enemy's camp."
and I took back what he stole from meeeeeeeee!! sorry I've been listening to a lot of black gospel this evening
Welcome home, Heather. ;)
MY, if I remember right her name is Chloe. But it's been a LONG time since I've seen any posts at all from her. (But then, I don't get as much time to play on GP as I used to, so there's a good chance I'm missing stuff.)
Mel, next time you have that much energy... PLEASE come clean my house.
:beret:
/me hugs everyone then crashes and falls asleep
Welcome back, Lady Chel!
Per his post on FB, Seth had a wreck today, as a motorcyclist tagged Seth pretty hard while Seth was driving a truck. Seth is about as all right as he ever is, and the motorcyclist was alert at the scene.
John :waving:
I'm up, eating cereal, and excited about church. Let's go!
[this could be from the 10 hours of glorious sleep I had in my own bed last night...]
Bah. I am back at work with 1) limited sleep, about four hours and 2) a very sore right arm, specifically in the elbow area. Guess I ran the weedeater too long this weekend, although I didn't think I did...:smirk2:
1) Wheeeeeeeeeeeee
--------------or---------------
2) Bleh
Between the church service we had this morning and fighting Walmart grocery shopping afterwards I need a nap!
I just got up from a nap. I never was much for Sunday afternoon naps, but working second shift I found if I get little sleep Saturday night and make up for it with a nap Sunday afternoon, it helps me maintain my sleep patterns through the weekend. :)
:hi:
:hyper:
Well I never got my nap. But it's ok because I'm fixin to go to bed.
Who stole my weekend?
Wow, it went by too fast.

John :waving:
I guess this news report is mostly accurate. :eyebrow:
This was from my FB post....sigh....
I was in a wreck this afternoon. I was turning left and a motorcycle came up behind me and attempted to pass me on the left side, on a double yellow line.
He epically failed.
I don't know if he just intended to do that to be crazy, or if he was going so fast he couldn't stop and rather than hit me in the rearend he tried to dodge around through the opening in the oncoming lane. He was flying on a crotch rocket, (I think that's what it was after they finally drug it out of the woods later, at least).... Hit me in the driver's side front wheel, and can't remember so much what the bike did, but the man FLEW through the air down into a holler in the woods. It was like a scene from a cartoon or a movie. Like you slung a rag doll by the leg and hurled it through the air.
Scared. Me. To. Death.
He was conscious and alert at the scene.
He best thank God he's not dead. I am doing so, both for he and I.
I wasn't physically hurt, I don't think, just tore the truck up.
Glad both of you are fairly ok, Seth.
Thank you, Ruby.
Nathan's parents came to town this wknd and it was very awkward when Hannah inquired what the (alcoholic) drink was that G'ma ordered. They used to be in church and want the kids to think they're still Christians. Blew that one, right there. I'm still confused why its necessary to order an alcoholic drink with your family, in front of the grand kids , who you know what they believe and your only visiting for 24hrs. Hope that drink was worth it. That stay at G'mas next summer? Never gonna happen.
*End rant*
That's pathetic, MY. Was Hannah upset by it?
:beret:
She was but tempered way down to not show. She was mostly dismayed. Kids see through people anyway and knew their grandparents weren't living for God but it wasnt openly discussed. We held our peace because whatever we say can be twisted into being judgemental and mean. Typical passive-aggressive move. They were only here 24hrs!
What an incredible weekend!
God is so good.
:hi: Back at work. Awesome service last night- had a couple who'd never visited us before show up. The man- bushy beard, long hair, looked like an outlaw biker- walked through the door and God began dealing with him. I was leading the service, felt moved to speak a bit on how God can reach down and restore us no matter how bad we've failed..he was wiping tears.
After church, he told Bro Wilson that God was definately there, and that they would be back...he was a backslider that has been out of church for years. He said everything that was said was meant for him. Praying that they will come back and God will refill him. I know without a doubt what I said was meant for him and God given. It had to be God given, me talking for thirty minutes behind a pulpit without notes.
That is Great, Bobby!
