Excerpt from yesterday's Washington Times editorial on Obama's nomination of Judge Sonia Sotomayor to the Supreme Court:

"Judge Sotomayor seems to favor racial discrimination. Consider the case of Ricci v. DeStefano. In that controversial case, 19 white firemen were denied promotion because no blacks scored high enough on a race-neutral test to also be promoted. Judge Sotomayor ruled against the white firefighters.

"If Mr. Obama wanted a judge with the right "empathy," he struck out with Judge Sotomayor. One of the white firefighters denied promotion, Frank Ricci, is dyslexic. In order to ace the promotion exam, he quit a second job, spent $1,000 for instruction materials, and spent many hours reading those books into an audio tape to help him study. For his extraordinary efforts, he finished sixth out of 77 applicants for promotion - but then was denied, simply because he is white."

The top-scoring firefighters of New Haven CT were obviously discriminated against by their city, who refused to promote them because no black firefighters scored high enough. Ricci and the other high scorers filed a challenge and took the city to court, lost, appealed to Sotomayor's three-judge panel, and lost again. A final appeal of this very case was argued before the CURRENT Supreme Court last month and could be decided, one way or the other, BEFORE the Senate votes to confirm her - it would be hilarious if they overturned her obviously racist opinion to uphold "reverse discrimination." (Unfortunately the filibuster-proof liberal majority would probably confirm her anyway.)

Change you can believe in, promised the Big O...

She is a racist.  She's a part of La Raza, which that opposes any kind of law enforcement against illegal immigration, and suppports groups that advocate turning the southwestern United States into a "Hispanic Only" zone separate from the United States.

And she stated in 2001: "I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experience would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn't lived that life."

In other words, a woman of Hispanic origin is better qualified to make decisions than a white male.

Had Sam Alito made such a ridiculous assertion at any time in his life regarding white male supreriority, most every Democrat would have voted against his confirmation.  Wait....he NEVER made such an assertion, and every Democrat voted against him anyway.

But now that the Democrats are in power, we need a new spirit of partisanship.

For liberal racists, the race card trumps everything, even against other liberals.

Do you remember when (January 2007) freshman Tennessee Representative Steve Cohen, a white liberal Democrat representing a majority-black district, tried to get into the Black Congressional Caucus to discuss issues facing his constituents? They would not let him join, because he was white! On the other hand, if some Congressmen tried to organize a "white congressional caucus" guess what would happen... the same thing that would happen if a white male judge were to suggest that "a wise Caucasian man with the richness of his experience would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a Latina female who hasn't lived that life." They would be railroaded. LOL

Here's a little commentary on Cohen's attempt to fulfill his campaign pledge to his trusting voters:
