The iPod Touch

So I am considering getting an Apple iPod Touch.  The main difference only be that I cannot use it as a phone.  Two of my cousin's have the iPhone and they love them but I cannot see paying $399 for the phone then paying so much afterwards each month just to talk on the phone.  I'm on my parent's cell plan with Sprint, and I just want the IPod Touch so I can surf the net and do everything else that the iPhone can, but just not pay that monthly bill afterwards.
