Exodus 9:8-12

King James Version (KJV)

8 And the Lord said unto Moses and unto Aaron, Take to you handfuls of ashes of the furnace, and let Moses sprinkle it toward the heaven in the sight of Pharaoh.

9 And it shall become small dust in all the land of Egypt, and shall be a boil breaking forth with blains upon man, and upon beast, throughout all the land of Egypt.

10 And they took ashes of the furnace, and stood before Pharaoh; and Moses sprinkled it up toward heaven; and it became a boil breaking forth with blains upon man, and upon beast.

11 And the magicians could not stand before Moses because of the boils; for the boil was upon the magicians, and upon all the Egyptians.

12 And the Lord hardened the heart of Pharaoh, and he hearkened not unto them; as the Lord had spoken unto Moses.

9.8 So Ya-HoVaH 2 told Moshe 4 and Aaron 8, "Take handfuls of ash from the furnace, and Moshe shall sprinkle it toward the Heavens in Faraoh's 1 eyes, 9.9 and it shall become small dust in all the country of Mizraim 7, and it shall be an ulcer breaking out with inflamed pustules on man and livestock, in all the country of Mizraim," 9.10 and they took ash from the furnace, and they stood in front of Faraoh, and Moshe sprinkled it up toward the Heavens, and it became an ulcer breaking out with inflamed pustules on man and livestock, 9.11 and the astrologers could not stand in front of Moshe because of the ulcers, because the ulcer was on the astrologers and all the Egyptians, 9.12 and Ya-HoVaH strengthened Faraoh's will, and he did not listen to them, just like Ya-HoVaH had spoken to Moshe,

8 This plague was to bring down thot the Egyptian healing god or god of medicine. God wanted Moses to perform a sign in front of Pharaoh. Pharaoh may have believed in the sign and chose to listen or see Moses doing the sign and fear Moses and by doing s obey God's command. Ashes are what are left after a fire. Moses began a different person after following the Lord, he put the old life he had in the fire and it began ashes and Pharaoh could see the change in Moses having known him before he started to follow the Lord.

9 They would receive boils which is a skin sickness. All those of the Egyptians would receive it both people and animals. Israel I believe was spared from all the plagues.

10 So they go before Pharaoh and do as God told them and God causes to happen what He said would happen. Often times we doubt God's word like Pharaoh did. There will be those who no matter how many times they hear the word they will not receive it but, we have to keep trying as long as the Lord keeps leading us because soon they may come to the word even if they rejected the truth many times before.

11 Te boils were so painful that the Egyptians could not even stand. The boils were probably deep within the skin may have been caused by something in the blood. The boils were probably head to toe and may have brought sickness as well.

12 The Lord hardened Pharaoh's heart this is not good for the Pharaoh, he had his chance but refused now God is not allowing him to even feel regret or even having the chance to do what is right. Moses may have wonder what the point was but God had a plan and Egypt was going to be judged for their sins against His people. Sometimes we may not see God's plan but He has one, it may not even be revealed to us.
The Lord made a Way.
