Well, glory be....

We have a concrete slab behind the church now.....  He's supposed to do the finishing touches to it tomorrow...and they'll dig the stupid cistern....I'll be so glad when that's done....Lord....

The replacement storm doors from Larson showed up FedEx while I was over there too just before was getting ready to leave....  I don't know why the shipped over there, I said to ship here to the house (cause there's not always somebody at the church and all that...)....and I don't even recall filling in the church address anywhere on what I had to fill out, I don't know know.....  But, it worked out alright cause I was there anyways.  Stupid chincy looking things though....  They don't make anything fit to have these days...bah.

AND, got a message from the land surveyor that he heard back from the Government, and they are agreeing to the survey the way our surveyor marked it.  He said they're doing whatever poopidydoo govt. red tape they have to do, but it all sounds good.

Yay.

Okay. I missed everyone.

As always, so it seems, I am frustrated. My mom taught me to drive a stick shift in about 2 hours. That was about a week and a half ago I think. I have one issue. I only seem to kill it getting into first IF SOMEONE IS BEHIND ME! It's like I over think it and get all nervous. So tomorrow after work I am going to go on the old logging road and just practice getting into first...over and over and over and over....practice makes perfect right?

Oh and did I mention I have a fever? And everyone in our house and most of the people at work have some kind of stomach bug...

OH and I milked cows, then went to my mom's and cleaned hotel rooms...So I basically had a 15 hour day today..and yesterday...

I just want it to be Sunday again... :-\

Ruby..*hug* I'm sure glad I didn't finish the email I started to you. It wasn't exactly what you were discribing, but after the day I had today, it was NOT pretty. At. All. :smirk2:

Mostly a rant. And some of the stuff I said, well you would not have been happy with it. I know that for a fact!

But I came to church. Talked it out with Granny, had a good cry, and a come to Jesus meeting in the floor.

I'm good now. ;) no lecture nessessary. Granny beat you to it!

Everyone...hi! Thanks for the hugs. One day I'll be a regular poster again. I promise.

Mel... you could have written it. :) Not that I would have had time to reply today, but I could have lectured you tomorrow. :hypocrite: But since you apparently don't need a lecture anymore... I'll hug you instead. ;) *HUG*

I don't know how much you'll get for muffins.

I half expected u to say most tie their horses round back by the out houses.

It would be fitting to see a pair of chicken prints on it.

Y'all say a prayer for me...after hanging with Granny and Jesus, we dined at Taco Bell, and I'm in the McDs parking lot right now using WiFi...but I'm headed home to the war zone in a few.

I need streanth. *sigh*

Muffins, peanut brittle, whatever.....  :P

I could've put my footprint in it....

My footprint IS in the concrete on the slab in front of the church that was poured in about 1980.  Mine and two other kids'.  You can barely see the prints and writing on it now though.

Where is everyone?  This is the quietest I've seen this forum since I joined.

In other news:  RealGuitar 2 is great!  Especially with a moderate reverb and a bit of amp.

Well. Finally convinced my dad to go to the ER. (with a bit of help from our Pastor) This is day 5 he has been so sick.  I'm in McDs parking lot on WiFi. Headed back to the hosp in a few. Mom is with him.

Oh. And I'm sick again. Guess dad gave us his mess. I'm nauseated and had an upset stomach all day too and I haven't had a thing to eat today.

Wow.  I posted some clips from someone else on my FB of our church services... Um.. I always think I'm being VERY expressive but I pretty much have the same expression on my face and am barely moving while praise singing.  And it's that ugly agonizing crying expression, as if I'm not delivered or something.  Dear Jesus, help me.  Also, I don't do my hair big but the little poof I do, doesn't look like I really have done anything.

Thinking analytically outloud today.. LOL  I can chuck my worry of being flamboyant out cause clearly I'm not that demonstrative as I thought.  Hilarious and annoying at the same time.  Bottom line is I don't care when I'm actually up there, but we get chastened for not being aware of how we come across when we're on the platform too.

Yeah. I'm a horrible person. Not really, just a lot of bad choices in my past.

Iowa is a front tag mandatory state. The truck I am buying from my mom has no front mount, they had the tag on with wire. I had the guys at work cut me some wire YESTERDAY and they were going to put the tag on with that and self setting screws so it wouldn't come off. (the bumper has an issue, my step dad ran it into a pole...he forgot to set the brake). SO as some of you know I've been paying for MONTHS and MONTHS to get my DL back. BUT I don't have one, so I take a risk everyday to go to work. I don't drive anywhere but to WORK! Sometimes church, but normally I find a ride or don't go. BUT I got pulled over..and got to spend the night on the floor in the rec room of the county jail, because the jail is full. It's COLD in there! I got what I deserved, driving is a priveledge...and I can't get a work permit unless my DL is revoked..and right now it's just suspended...:(

SO now we are back to square one, I still have a job, but no way to get there....:(

Man. That's terrible. I've been known to look the other way when some of the folks I knew had suspended license were driving if I knew they were just going to work and home. May God send you compassionate officers or close their eyes while you go to work...
And I'm *thinking* of talking to a local police chief friend and see if I can work a few hours a week for his department. We could really use the extra money. If I do, I'll need you guys to really lift me up in prayer. It will be easy for me to slip back into my former police self, which is vastly different and worse than I am now. I'm not crazy about the work, but we've got some debt that I've got to get rid of someway, and this economy and gas and food prices aren't helping. :(

I ain't the most spiritual, but......You know, that's exactly what the devil would have us believe. When we feel like we are far from God, it is easier for us to become less faithful, and to eventually give up and say "what's the use?"

You see, we never see a victory until after a battle and it's impossible to see a view from a mountain top without climbing the mountain first. While I don't know all that you are going through, I can tell you from what I've read that you've posted you've gone through alot. It seems to me that you are someone who really loves God and is trying to make a difference, not just in your own life, but in the lives of others.

People are watching you right now, wanting to see how you will react. Will you crack under the pressure? They are looking for something different, something to help them get through their problems, and if you keep your head up and trust God, you will see Him work things out in ways you would never have imagined. Not only in your life, but the lives of people you love. They will see that what you have received is real and able to change their life.

Don't give up and don't fall away from God. Double down, so to speak, pray harder, fast more, even when it seems impossible to do, and trust God. I know it's easier to say this than live it, but it's something I deal with myself daily. I've watched friends get down and get depressed and basically give up, and now a once strong ministry (their life and testimony), if you will, has fallen. I determined that no matter what, I will trust God, I will depend on Him, and I will not allow the devil to drag me into the depths of depression and the world of pity parties... for me, that was huge.
What am I saying? I don't know, maybe I'm just rambling, but don't give up, stay faithful to God, and TRUST Him. He'll bring you through this. I'm praying for you.

On a lighter note, YouTube suggested I listen to "Be Still My Soul" by Mindy Gledhill.

Well Bird Head, I'm sorry to hear of all your woes.  :(

Melodya, I would love to just do nothing and get handsomely paid for it and be able to do all the other stuff I need and want to do.

Went to town and got some paint for the stupid handrails at church....Oh, how i hate them....  Been trying to figure out if I was gonna replace them or what.....I wanted something that wouldn't have to be painted and wouldn't rust.....but everything is either more expensive than I want to pay, or incompatible with the setup logistics.....  So I decided to just keep what's there for now and paint them...and oh my lands, I have every minute of it....  It'll be next Christmas before I get done......good grief.

The concrete guy came by late this evening and took the forms down and was going to saw the slab but his saw wouldn't run so he has to come back again....  They didn't dig the stupid cistern today cause now the cistern guy couldn't deliver it today....  Every other day I was waiting on the excavators to get in gear, the cistern people could have brought it....now that they're ready to dig, the cistern people can't bring it....ugh.  Friday is the plan....unless that changes due to weather...sposed to rain tomorrow...  Probably be digging in mud and water before it's done anyways though, so what diff does it make?  Ugh...hopefully they don't hit water, but highly possible they will.

I just want the thing done and overwith, I'm tired of messing with it......  And it will be grand to finish getting it plumbed back up then and be able to flush the stool and wash your hands.

I probably have brain damage from paint fumes...

Rustoleum is really not all that bad though...and it's all outdoors and was breezy, so, maybe not...but maybe so...who knows with me.

I've got enough of it on my hands that at least my hands shouldn't rust anytime soon.  :smirk2:

And I'm *thinking* of talking to a local police chief friend and see if I can work a few hours a week for his department. We could really use the extra money. If I do, I'll need you guys to really lift me up in prayer. It will be easy for me to slip back into my former police self, which is vastly different and worse than I am now. I'm not crazy about the work, but we've got some debt that I've got to get rid of someway, and this economy and gas and food prices aren't helping. :(
Please be careful brother.  I can't know everything about your situation so I'm not saying you shouldn't take it.  But I know first-hand how easy it is to slip back into something you have given up... just please be careful.
I will. And thanks.... I found out he was needing part time help and the hours he needs dovetails nicely with my free time- and it won't interfer with church at all. My biggest trial in going back on the street, even part time, will be keeping a Godly spirit and staying holy, if you will. I know from experience that dealing with the types of situations and people that a street cop deals with can bring your attitude and language down to their level.... At least it did me when I was working the street full time.

Officer...sir...I was half a mile from work, and the guys I work with were going to come get the truck. The officer said absolutely not because he had already called a tow truck. *sigh*

I didn't cry though...I prayed...a lot...

but I'm crying now..feels like the harder I try..the further away from God I get...

ISG, let me throw a little in here too...

But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us. We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed;
(2 Corinthians 4:7-9 ESV)

Let me remind you, you've gave your testimony on here before, and it is beautiful.

1)    Don't forget your testimony.  God has brought you so far.  He freed you from the slavery of sin, and that old task master the devil.  And that old task master, the devil, wants his former slave back.  And he will try and fight and fight and try to break your hold on God.

2)   We have this treasure in jars of clay.  God put the most priceless gift, his spirit, and the light thereof, in fragile, feeble, (and frankly, full of failure) vessels.  But because he loved us, he did.

This third thing is a little something that may bring light to you today.  It's a illustration that God showed me over the course of several weeks.  We had a beautiful little rosebush sitting here in front of my house.  One summer, it was covered with beautiful roses, and the scent seemed to overwhelm you as you walked to the door.  But one little bud never seemed to want to open.  Matter of fact, it had a hole where a bug had burrowed its way into the bud.  I figured the little bud was a lost cause.
As the course of roses often are, the once beautiful roses withered and died, leaving only the solitude little bud.  After several days, IT BEGAN TO BLOOM!

Ive smelled roses, and I have never smelled a rose so powerful.  You could see where the bug had damaged this rose.  But in its damaged state, the beauty of the scent was overwhelming!

Sometimes we look at ourselves as "damaged" goods.  But is when we are afflicted, perplexed, persecuted and struck down that our praise to God grows that much sweeter.    As the verses said, we are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed!

Keep your head up!

The rose bud...As I walked in the door today from work, I noticed that there is still one rose on our bush by the door...November...Snow...Rain..freezing nights..and there is still one pink little rose...I took a picture. I'll post it soon.

I'm pregnant.

There now you all know. I don't know how many of you know...some do some don't... I struggle with being an alcoholic...I actually haven't had a drink in almost 2 months...but in August I actually spent a bit of every weekend drinking. I repented...and God forgave me. BUT through all of that from what I understand there was a "friend" who spent the night. I don't remember him staying, sleeping or otherwise. So talking to my wonderful assistant pastor last night...he asked if I knew for sure I hadn't been slipped something...and that actually got me thinking. Other than my cousin this man was the only one to stay at our house. I asked Roomie and she said he was asleep on the couch when she went to bed, she didn't want to let him drive since he had been drinking.

So with that all being said...May 20th is my due date. A lot of why I have been so emotional and so sick is because of this. BUT they did THREE blood tests in the ER at different visits all in Sept. that all supposedly came back negative....this is the same ER that missed that mass on my colon that God made go away.....Law suit? Anyone have any ideas on that? I am really getting a feeling to just leave it all alone and not go there in the future...

SO there....*sigh*...I need to go quit smelling like cows...

Thanks for the HUGS and encouragement...I do love you all sooooo much!

I have never dealt with anything even remotely like that so I have no idea what to say ISG.  Except I'll be praying for you.

And remember to keep going.  If you turn around now it's much farther to where you started than to where you're trying to get to.

Here are two recipes that I found that  looked interesting.

MEXICAN CORNBREAD CASSEROLE

Read more about it at www.cooks.com/rec/view/0,178,128183-248194,00.html

Cornbread Batter:

2 cups self rising cornmeal
1 can (10 oz) cream style corn
2 eggs well beaten
1/2 cup crisco oil
2 tsp sugar (if desired)
1 cup milk (may add more milk to make batter right)
(not to thick or not to thin)about like cake batter

Filling:

1 1/2 lbs lean ground beef
1 large onion chopped
3 to 5 small banana peppers chopped
2 to 3 cups grated cheddar cheese (mild or med)

Mix together corn meal, eggs, milk, sugar, cream style corn and oil. set aside. This is your batter for the bread. In a large skillet, cook ground beef, onion and peppers until browned and then pour into strainer. Drain off any grease. Rinse with hot water and let drain.
Pour half of batter into large greased skillet. then pour all of the hamburger mixture over this. Top this with all the cheese.

Next, pour the other half of your cornbread batter over the meat and cheese filling.

Bake in a 350* oven for about 45 to 50 min. or until brown. Let set a few minutes before cuting and serving.

This makes a wonderful main dish. Serve with soup beans and enjoy.

I'm thinking about doing something a little more simple...

I will brown the beef, add a can of cream of mroom and some shredded mozzarella and then cover it in corn bread and bake...sound okay?

Mean Rats' Nest. Mean. Mean. Had I been here to enter this conversation prior to your hateful action, I would've took up for you and claimed that you were obviously like a fine wine, and get better with age.

After that comment- well, someone apparently cracked your cork- you've turned to vinegar.  :hypocrite:

:laughhard:
To everyone else- :waving:. I made it to my Friday. And I have now got my pastor down on me....Our church is feeding the staff at the local free medical clinic tonight. I just got home and they've already started, so I'm not there to help. By the time I drive back up town it'll be over. So here I sit, with snarky messages from him relayed via my wife by text. :laughhard:

In every aspect of my life I've always known where I stand. I'm not the most important. I'm not missed if I'm not there. In the best terms possible, I'm expendable and replaceable. And more than likely with a better version. This goes in any relationship, my work place, my family, my friends, and any church I've been a part of. And I guess for the most part I've always embraced it. Why argue with everyone who has ever had any part in your life right? You're not expendable, Heather.  They, or the devil or your feelings, all lied.

Sorry to be so blunt.  But I haven't even met you & I know better. Perhaps it's not that you weren't enough, just maybe it's cause it's them & you're so loyal, they're the ones that have to end things.

I have REALLY felt like that at times & noticed I try to act ok with it & almost making myself of less consequence. There are some voids that only Jesus can fill & we feel our value the more of our lives we share with Him.

Boy do I know that feeling!  But usually when it seems people don't even notice you it's really because of something else.  Maybe you're just too reliable, always there, always helping, and they take you for granted? That happens a lot - I think it has something to do with the brain's tendency to ignore things that are always the same.

\me glares at Alana.

Get away from my man!

Hey everyone. I'm up at the hospital trying to bust my Dad out.

They said they were gonna let him go at 9:30, but yeah, I don't see that happening. I'm actually suprised that they are letting him go this soon! But thankful.

Prayer works!

Lord. Is it possible to have a "hang-over" if you've never drank alcohol in your life?

I have surely slept too long and hard. I just woke up and I'm dragging. Majorly. I need chocolate, and Mini is hording it a state away, the greedy goon.

Hording nothing.  I have a whole candy dish full of other lesser chocolate confections.  I just horde the peanut butter cups.  And speaking of those, they need a crunchy peanut butter cup.

I have what I call "Prayer-hangovers" all the time.

If I have a good prayer, the lay in the floor, lose track of time, wailing, let it all out, come to Jesus meeting kind, then my sinuses always act up, and I walk away (stagger usually) with puffy bloodshot eyes, stuffed up head and a massive headache.

If it was REALLY good, I wake up feeling much the same way the next morning.

But it is WORTH IT!

Key word in all that is "I". As in "Mini" has, not Roscoe. Therefore you are guilty of hording. And you want crunchy? Put 'em in the freezer for a couple hours. They'll be as crunchy as you want,,, :laughhard:

Why do candy companies make "limited editions"? It annoys the snot outta me. M&M made a raspberry dark choclate M&M for a little while that I fell in love with, then they pulled them claiming they were limited editions.I get hooked on 'em and then they're gone. Gonna get somebody a beatdown someday....

I agree!

But its not just the candy companies.

I fell in love with EXTREME NACHOS from TB, and it was only the summer of '94.

Never brought it back.

And don't it me started on McRib.

I thought I was gonna have to go gangsta on sonic the other day..... Last summer, locally, they sold a hickory burger (basically a cheeseburger with mustard, lettuce, tomato, bbq sauce and an onion ring on it) and a "realcream Dr. Pepper". Now my love for Dr Pepper is well known, and when I tasted the "real cream" version I was hooked. It was perfect. Became a fat boy's crack cocaine. Then the other day I order this, and they tell me they don't sell either of them anymore. :o I wound up ordering a Dr pepper with real cream and a cheeseburger made as I described. They may not sell it anymore, but by golly I bought it. :laughhard:

Yep. Worked here. I also had them put real cherries in it, but that's just my preference. They just shoot a shot of their vanilla milkshake mix into the dr. pepper I think. At any rate, it is addicting. At least it was for me.

At last count I had eleven senses, but I don't know which one is the sixth.  How do you put them in order?

How have you not had a donut in a week?  Did all the bakeries go on strike?  Do you live in (horror of horrors) a Krispy Kreme-less zone?

This will come as a huge surprise, but- I'm really not big on donuts. If they're there, and free, as is often the case around a police department, I'll eat one. But it's rare that I spend money for one.
And Isaac- I really don't care for Krispy Kremes as much as I do shipley's, or Daylight Donuts. The Krispy Kremes are just too sweet. Now there's a bakery in Lousiana that makes "Spud-nuts"- donuts made with potatoe flour I believe, that are awesome, but I've had them just once...

One of my best donut memories is as a kid, every Saturday morning Daddy and I would get up, go get donuts and go garage sale-ing....just the two of us. One of my favorite memories.

I used to have bifocals as a kid. When I first got glasses in the 3rd grade. Because I read so much, the dr. recommended them. Not sure when I got out of having them...but I don't currently have them now.

Incredible...

How in the world can anyone sing "I went to the enemy's camp" and make it sound like a show tune?  I thought it was impossible to sing that song without feeling the Spirit.

Oh well, so much for this album.

"I'm so glad Jesus lifted me
I'm so glad you get to hear me
I'm so glad you get to listen to me
Singin' glory hallelujah
Don't I sing so pretty"

Bleh.

I used to work at a Taco Bell for 4.5 years and I remember the chili-cheese burrito.  I also remember when it was called something else, but they changed the name.  Rumor has it they changed it because the former name meant something they didn't want it to mean.

The "chili" in it was a measure of the regular taco ground beef, a little water and a chili sauce packet.  Don't think they have it anymore.

Taking breather & then doing the baking for the marriage seminar tomorrow.

I bought a ham & got a turkey free.  Great deal except I don't know  how to make a ham. it's not the pineapple/cherry kind. It's like a perfectly oval, no bones.

I am still alive in case anyone was wondering. I have just been crazy busy getting ready to move. I had to get rid of a bunch of junk in storage. In the middle of all that I have a couple of classes right now that come with a huge work load. When I am not cleaning and packing I am working on school stuff. Also, been filling in some for the pastor while he was away. Studying for Sunday School or preaching has taken up a large amount of my time as well. Add a sinus headache that wont go away and you can see how crazy the last few weeks have been for me. Maybe I can catch up with GP sometime next year. December promises to be just as crazy as November has been. lol

Welp, we are blowing this Popsicle stand.

Dad is sick of waiting for this Dr and I am too, frankly.

I'll miss the WiFi and seeing all my friends in and out and around here, but I'm tired and still have stuff to do at home and at church.

So yeah, we are gone. It's been fun with y'all though!

:hi:

Well what do you know? The Dr just came in. He's at the nurses station, but I'm in the truck and dad is being wheeled to the front as we speak.

He wouldn't stay.

So yeah. I can't say I blame him really.

Lord, you were all chatty Cathys today....

Well, the cistern digging was not nearly as horrific as I feared it might be.  He did hit water, but he just left it a tad shallow and then hooped dirt up on top of it to make the depth what it should be....  We still will have to smooth it all down and crud, but it's in there...gotta get it plumbed up now..and fill in the hole at the end that's still open for the water pipe and all....  But that actually all went fine.  The excavator was a real nice guy.

And along with all that, I continued painting these horrific railings....  All blessed day aside from the times that I stopped messing with the cistern ordeal, and I just got the other set of stair ones done.....lord....  Now I have to do the stupid ramp........  :reaction:  I'm gonna croak.

I discovered a new great feeling that I didn't know existed... buying a new camera that is not the same size as the old one but yet fits in the same case!!!!!!!

I'm very pleased

It feels like I'm ordering something for my trip from amazon multiple times a day - I was thrilled to find out I didn't need to order a case if for no other reason than I'm tired of clicking and having to deal with deliveries and packaging  LOL

About this time next week I'll be hanging out with Nic and Bernard and Lana and Maddy... I'm so excited!  :biglaugh:

Hording nothing.  I have a whole candy dish full of other lesser chocolate confections.  I just horde the peanut butter cups.  And speaking of those, they need a crunchy peanut butter cup.

They have one...if I find them again I will take a pic!

*Hugs* Laci really tight. Girlie... I don't even know what to say. Everything I've thought of so far wouldn't be helpful just now. So I'll just say that my heart aches for where you're at right now, and that I wish I could give you a REAL hug right now.

ISG, let me throw a little in here too...

But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us. We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed;

Oh my. Laci wasn't the only one who needed to read those posts. Thank you both. Much.

I feel borderline frantic this evening, but I refuse to give in to it.

God, please give me your peace.

:beret:

I'm surprisingly awake after only 5 hrs of sleep. I do however feel a caramel frappe in my future.

Had an amazing talk with my friend Melissa last night concerning me and going to church (as in UPC, as in my home church). Church feels like a giant commitment to me and frankly it scares me. I've been hurt by most major commitments in my life (that church included). But on the other hand it's the only place I feel God.

Going to APB's nieces birthday shindig this afternoon. That is if APB's momma lets him go. *shakes head* that woman is weird. I could almost start a thread over just her weirdness, but I keep telling myself I have to play nice because she likes me and could be my MIL someday....

One of the most pleasant ways I know of ingesting caffeine is to go to the local Jack's and order a cappuccino shake.  It's not on the menu but they'll make it if you tell them how.  Half Blue Bell chocolate ice cream, half strong black coffee.  Coffee melts the ice cream, ice cream cools off the coffee and you're left with kind of an iced mocha latte thing, only a lot creamier.

Might be a cappuccino shake in my future.  I didn't get a lot of sleep, sinus junk.

Not really anything else new. I missed working this morning...just not feeling right and having a couple issues....

What should I make for supper? I was thinking Iowa cut pork chops and smashed garlic Yukon gold potatoes.

Naaah, we both enjoy going out to eat, chatting.  Don't do it often enough though.

I think tonight, for the first time in years, I'll go down to the weekly Saturday night auction.  Let's see if it has improved since I was last there.

I love bread!  It's not that I haven't discipline but rather that I am stubborn.  Bread is God ordained food, my digestion is in rebellion.  The thing is, I make good bread.

It would be very hard to meet Isaac & not eat all his bread.

I will discover a permanent solution to gluten intolerance!

It would be very easy to meet me and not eat all my bread.  You'd have to go through a few other people to get to it.  They'd stop you at the door.

The auction has indeed improved since I was last there, and I bought a few things.  All stuff I'm gonna need and all fairly cheap.

By the way, public service announcement:  Set your clock back.

If you forgot to set your clock back and you get to church an hour early... there's always the prayer room.  More people in the prayer room praying, the better the service will be.

I basically did NOTHING today...we didn't even really make supper. We got one of those Bertolli frozen dinner things...and Roomie got a TGIF one. They were pretty good.......We or more so I have been watching documentaries all day...

Not a bad day at all...just trying to de-stress.

I found my favorite shampoo that I hadn't really been able to afford on clearance at kmart yesterday....it was nice to use it today...

Is it sad that the highlight of my day was shampoo? :sadbounce:

On another note? Your church has a room just for prayer? Is this typical? If so my church is weird...we pray in the sanctuary for 15-20 minutes before service...but I bet you could call anytime and get someone to let you in to pray...Sometimes I feel so out of the loop having only been Apostolic for a little over a year now...my baptism day is coming up this month...I have been through so much this year..but that's a whole nother topic....

I said Winder today....it made me laugh.

In some churches they have rooms for prayer - Men's and Women's.  In other churches they hold prayer in the sanctuary before service.  It can work both ways... Either way, the more people there are praying, the better the service.

Shampoo isn't so bad.  Sometimes the highlight of my day is finding a new album, sometimes it is a really good chocolate bar, sometimes it is petting the cat.  Depends on how much you like that shampoo.

Nothing covered in chocolate surprises me anymore, though I can synthesize the flavor combination well enough in my mind to spare myself actually trying most of them.

Lindt puts out a dark chocolate bar with chili pepper extract... that is surprisingly good!  I investigated and found out chili and chocolate have been paired long before this, so it's not new ground after all... but it's new to me.

What kind of shampoo??

And oh yes, we have a prayer room that goes from one side of the church to the other. It is the entire back side of the platform. You can go in on one side of the platform and walk all the way thru the prayer room behind it and come out the other side.

Prayer begins 30 minutes before service. Anyone who is on the platform is "expected" to be in the prayer room the 30 minutes before service. Obviously it's not a you're going to be in big trouble if you don't do it, but rather Pastor will let God handle you for not praying before you are involved in ministry and leading in worship before a service begins.

One of my favorite things sometimes - especially on a Wednesday night when I've worked all day and need to just clear my mind to be ready and in tune for the Word that's gonna go forth that night!

Lord.

Went and painted on those hateful railings....still not done.....God help me....  Came home to turn around and go to church.

Came home from church...sleepy as a mugg, as TPAM would say...*cough*.....went to sleep here a while...got up and walked into my room, laid down on the floor and went to sleep some more....finally got up and tended the fowl....

Need to go to sleep again now for the duration.

Oh....and on the way home from the church after painting, I felt a pain in my elbow....thought maybe I had paint on my arm hair and it was matted down pulling it....hoped it wasn't a wasp, but it didn't feel like that after the initial gouge...wiggled my elbow out to find a little piece of wire sticking out of me...

While ago when I got ready to take a shower.....I found another one in my upper arm, and one in my leg!  :freaky:

I guess wires from the wire brush drill thing I used the other day to try to brush rust out of the crevices of these blasted railings....  Crawling and laying all over the ground I picked them up I guess....  I keep wondering if I have more stuck in me that I don't know about.  :reaction:  I think I discovered one that poked me when it happened while I was over there...but these others have been in me and I didn't know it....good lord....

We pray in the fellowship hall 30 minutes before service. If you're on the platform you BETTER be in there. In a couple of our old buildings there were separate rooms for men, women, and youth.

I'm awake an hour earlier than planned just because I went to bed so blasted early. I promised friends I'd go to church with them this am in Johnson City but I'll probably go to my home church tonight. Idk. I'll probably talk myself out of it.....

Do we have a church picture thread? I'd love to see everyone's churches. I think it would be neat!

I lost the baby.

Yes I'm alright. I'm keeping life as normal as possible right now. I had just kinda gotten used to the idea...but it's for the best.

Oh and it's John Freida Anti-breakage. it's normally 6 bucks or so a bottle and I got it for 4. and it was the 35% more bottles.

Heading to church soon.

Preaching today and feeling 2 different messages very strongly. Pray God gives me clear direction on where to go, or leads me to something else if neither of these are HIS plan for today.

ISG, I'm glad you are okay, and trust God for His will... still praying for you. :waving: And a church pic thread would be cool, I'll seee if I have any of my church.

Went to church with my friends like I promised I would. My friend Melissa text me and asked why I wasn't at my home church. Told her my gas light was on in my car so I probably wouldn't make it tonight. So now she's coming to pick me up for service tonight. Way to make myself accountable I guess. Lol. Considering taking a nap even though I shouldn't be this tired....

Dear lord, the stupid pro wrestler's girlfriend duck girl is begging me go give her one of my conures....she was asking me for info on breeders....I don't know any directly, but I know of ones that go to the bird fairs, I keep telling here there are a lot there...she just ignores that...then she begs for mine....and says she doesn't have that kind of money to spend on one.....and said can she just have one and teach it to talk and give it back.

I should let her take Snoopy and left him/her bite the fire out of her.  lol

Weeeee!

Found a black gospel album that was really good in these old records.  :hyper:

There's a shortage on corn and there's a shortage on wheat
There's a shortage on bread and there's a shortage on meat
But I know one thing that there's no shortage of
There's no shortage on God's mercy, there's no shortage on God's love!

There's just something about it when people sing about God, and they sound like they actually know what they're singing about. :)

Hording nothing.  I have a whole candy dish full of other lesser chocolate confections.  I just horde the peanut butter cups.  And speaking of those, they need a crunchy peanut butter cup.
Yes! They do need one of those!

For the record, Linux rocks.

I found a great CD, used, cheap.  Listened to it on a normal CD player, liked it a lot.  Put it in my music computer to rip it because an mp3 player can't play physical CDs... no luck.  This CD came from the bad old days when the music industry was so upset about people file-sharing that they thought it would be a good idea to make it harder for legitimate customers to copy their music to computer.  All I could get was a menu of photos, movies (on a music cd?) and a program to install.

Put the CD in my Linux computer, it ripped with no problem.  :D

Mind you, Windows is still my go-to for a music computer.  But a good workman sometimes needs more than just one kind of hammer.

I second the "ew!" about White Castle.  How is Whataburger better?  I thought it was just another fast food factory.  I don't have much experience with them though as they are not in this area, so I could be wrong.

I saw this last night, and didn't see a response to it.

From their website:

"Today, each and every Whataburger is made to order, right when it's ordered. And they're still made with 100% pure American beef and served on a big toasted five-inch bun with all 'the extras' to suit your taste. Grilled jalapenos, extra bacon, three slices of cheese, no tomatoes, extra pickles? No problem, your Whataburger will be made just like you like it 24 hours a day 7 days a week."

So yeah, everything is made fresh when you order.  And it tastes like a good burger should.  And if you like jalapenos, ask them to grill them, along with your onions.  Its the best.  And the fact that they are open 24 hrs a day, if you get a burger craving at 3 am, you can satisfy that craving... (if you have one close enough that is...)

Mini, next time you stumble down this way, I'll have to take you to Dave's burgers in Conway. It's a little locaal chain- I think they have two resturaunts in this area- and burgers are all they do. Hand made patties, grilled to your taste in front of you. They'll put ole Whattaburger on the truck, I promise.

And I have court today, so I basically get a day off. I was subpeoned by my former department to testify on a Theft of Motor Fuel arrest I made five years ago. Five years ago!! A guy drove off without paying for his gas and I caught him. Yeah, I remember that. Not. I couldn't remember what the guy looks like if he walked up and punched me. Oh well, I'll go to court explain to the prosecuter that I don't have a clue, yak at former coworkers for a bit, and come home and relax. Not a bad deal..

Sure enough Matt preached last night. Glad I decided not to go. Yes I can finally attend church and be cordial to both him and his latest fiancé but I just cannot sit under him teaching me considering what he did to me.....

Should get out of bed. I think I hear the electric company back outside. They are replacing 2 leaning poles on my street on either side of my house. They'll kill my lights soon but I don't have to be to work for another hour. Sigh...

I can see where that would be an icky situation. Is there not another Apostolic church in the area that you could attend where you wouldn't be put in situations like that?

Deal! Hamburgers ranks right beside fried chicken and meatloaf as my favorite meals.

On other news, I my mother in law got me a 2 quart crockpot for work!  And seeing its a nice, rainy, dreary day, I have it full of chili.  By lunch, this place should smell great!

Thanks Minnesota, I'll have to try that if I'm ever passing by one.  I'm always skeptical of the "100% ground beef" claim... that's what a certain fast food factory claims as well and I used to work there and know what it looks like before and after cooking... But at thy word I'll give it a shot.

In other news I'm starting to enjoy teaching Sunday night Children's Church.  We have some pretty sharp kids.

In other other news Jennies (R) macaroons are pretty good if you ever happen to see them in a store somewhere.  I'm sitting here eating far too many.

I ate well or ate badly, depending on whether or not I'm talking to a cardiologist.  I ate some chili cheese onion rings, which they didn't have on the menu but which the waitress said they have done before.  Very good, very tasty, very unhealthy, but did I mention it was good?   :great:

Throw in lots of cilantro & I could eat tacos everyday.

Earthquakes are a really weird feeling.  I've only felt one (and one small aftershock), the one we had a few years ago.  Really bizarre sensation, cause you're just stuck in it....  Wind and rain, other weather elements, you can go inside and take shelter from (barring a tornado or something that's ripping your roof off, of course), but no matter where you go, the earth quake is there, unless you take flight...lol

I don't have Tv so I don't know how to find out. & is this an aftershock of oklahoma or our own? And then are our Okie's OK?

I'm awake now. Lol

Glad all the okies are alright! Thought of you all when I started reading about quakes. I have a friend from HS who is out there at the Air Force base. She's ready to pack up and come back east. Lol

I've started kinda looking on the Internet for different local churches. Alot of the problem is there are ALOT of apostolic/pentecostal holiness churches in my area within an hours drive. And 85 percent of them are full of old fogeys who'd have a heart attack if someone like me walked through the door. The other 10 percent are waaayyyy too worried about there appearance for me. I like the pastor and quite a few of the people at Gate City but you drive an hour to church to just turn around and leave because you haven't grown up there and out of 120 people you're not dressed cool enough to hang with any of them.

I just love my church but it's so super hard with my ex-husband and his latest fiancé there. I was really hopin they'd go to HER church but alas she came to Restoration. Sigh....

Um.  I haven't heard anyone else say anything so maybe it wasn't an earthquake?  Not sure what it was then tho. We live on a city road so the traffic goes by at 35 mph. It lasted like what felt like a min but probably was 30sec.  Too long for traffic.  I feel dumb now.  Woke us both up though!

At any rate, howdy y'all!

Yeah, those whoppers.  But I am not even up for a milkshake right now.  Bleh.

I hate feeling bleh.  I'm accustomed to feeling better than bleh.  But I was a bit hard on my system yesterday... chili cheese onion rings, cheeseburger, walnut sundae, chips... My body is accustomed to better food than that.  I just felt like being unhealthy yesterday, so I'm feeling bleh today.   :smirk2:

I've started kinda looking on the Internet for different local churches. Alot of the problem is there are ALOT of apostolic/pentecostal holiness churches in my area within an hours drive. And 85 percent of them are full of old fogeys who'd have a heart attack if someone like me walked through the door. The other 10 percent are waaayyyy too worried about there appearance for me. I like the pastor and quite a few of the people at Gate City but you drive an hour to church to just turn around and leave because you haven't grown up there and out of 120 people you're not dressed cool enough to hang with any of them.

I wish you were closer! My church is really accepting of ALL kinds of people. I remember my first time there..and having at least 10 people welcome me! *sigh* I really wish churches held more to the way Jesus felt about people. Accept everyone....I try really hard not to base my opinion of anyone on their hair or clothes or  any other physical appearance, I mean what if I didn't talk to someone because they weren't dressed a certain way, I could miss out on a new great friend. Yet another reason I love my church, I'm accepted even though I'm not thin with extremely long hair that always lays perfect and wonderful clothes. I'm me, I try my best to be me, a better me than I used to be....they all know my faults...and still love me....

*HUGGGS!* for everyone!

Heather, I've been thinking on your situation...

I think it would be profitable to
1.  Pray and fast about what church God wants you at.
2.  Check out the old fogey churches, just in case they are growing and have new people and may be ready for or in revival.
3.  Talk to and Elder or someone that you can get some deep Godly council from that knows you or can at least look you in the eye and use discernment.

God has a will in this sis, it's just a matter of recognizing it.

Ok, I'm outta here.  Have church tonight.  I still feel really dumb for thinking I felt an earthquake.  And I really want to know what it was.  Nothing in the news.  I may be losing my mind... bwuahahahahaha!

IowaSkirtGirl are you fasting regularly?  I had a bout of temptation from something I used to do.  Prayed about it, agonized over it, but the temptation kept coming stronger and stronger.  Then a light bulb went off in my head and I tried fasting... Everything cleared right up, no problem here anymore.

In other news:  I got a good night's sleep, either slept or just lay down almost all day... so now how am I going to get any sleep tonight?  I don't want to take sleeping pills, they make me feel funny.

Ahh. Fasting. My issues are all with temptation..and me telling temptation no.  Food is my only comfort it feels. I know prayer and Jesus are supposed to be comforting...I quit drinking...and started eating....I quit being addicted to drugs...and I started eating....NOW that I can back away from the trough a bit....I might try fasting...but with my ulcers being the pain (literally) that they are..I don't know how well my stomach would handle all that....

*sigh*

There are different types of fasts, sis. While the water only is a clear cut major sacrifice, there is also the Daniel's fast.  It is often a week or more but it is eating & does prove to be a major sacrifice as well, still denying the flesh.   Obviously, trading one addiction for another isn't a solution but everyone is different so a different fast may help.  I can elaborate about the Daniels fast but I think Sis.George will be able to help you even more.

As I said, it's amazing what sleeping all night and sleeping/lying about all day can do.  I feel much better.  When I think of greasy or meaty foods my stomach no longer threatens to leap straight up my throat and throttle my brain.

I never did puke though, just felt sick and queasy.  I think it was something I ate.  I have never had the GIs like that though.

WHAT what! Love it!

Oh and that's not counting the like 3-4 cd's I have of holiday music. I take them out after Christmas is over so I don't have to hear them when I shuffle my iTunes.

I may expound on this at some point, but trust me, to fast, fast food/sodas/everything except water.  Thats the only way to fast, and the only way to get clear spiritual breakthrough.  I have done the Daniel fast (7 days, 21 days) and while beneficial in some ways, a good ol' fast, where you fast food is the way to go.

And don't replace the time fasting with carnal things (ie, movies, entertainment, media).

This is a oldie, but a goodie...

The teacher gave her fifth-grade class an assignment: get their parents to tell them a story with a moral at the end of it.

The next day the kids came back and one by one began to tell their stories.

Ashley said, "My father's a farmer, and we have a lot of egg-laying hens. One time we were taking our eggs to market in a basket on the front seat of the car when we hit a big bump in the road and all the eggs went flying and broke and made a mess."

"What's the moral of the story?" asked the teacher.

"Don't put all your eggs in one basket!"

"Very good," said the teacher.

Next little Sarah raised her hand and said, "Our family are farmers too. But we raise chickens for the meat market. We had a dozen eggs one time, but when they hatched we only got ten live chicks, and the moral to this story is, 'Don't count your chickens before they're hatched.'"

"That was a fine story, Sarah. Michael, do you have a story to share?"

"Yes, my daddy told me this story about my Aunt Karen. Aunt Karen was a flight engineer in the Gulf War and her plane was hit. She had to bail out over enemy territory, and all she had was a bottle of whiskey, a machine gun, and a machete. She drank the whiskey on the way down so it wouldn't break and then she landed right in the middle of a hundred enemy troops. She killed seventy of them with the machine gun until she ran out of bullets. Then she killed twenty more with the machete until the blade broke. Then she killed the last ten with her bare hands."

"Good grief," said the horrified teacher, "what kind of moral did your daddy tell you from that horrible story?"

"Stay away from Aunt Karen when she's been drinking!"

In a professional setting, people should not just start calling someone by a nickname. This girl just started not long ago, and she's calling me Nelle. Only ONE person at work gets by with it, and that's cause she rarely uses it. I don't understand where this newer girl got the gall to suddenly start calling me Nelle. If I say something to her, it becomes an issue and a possible confrontational situation. I'm not mad, I just don't think it's professional. It'd be different if we were friends but we're just coworkers. I'm older than her, been here longer, and a couple of steps up the chain. :/

My "Nelle" is said as "Nell." The "e" is silent just like in my real name. The lady who "gets away with calling me that" actually does call me Nelley or Janelley. I just know -I- wouldn't suddenly call someone a nickname that I don't know very well and especially not without asking. Weird how comfortable some people get.

There is a place mini for D.F. I've been on 2 40 day D.F & it broke things that the longest 6 day water only day fast did not. It's different & brought about change in things that were deep seeded & long term.  Water only is not the only way to go & not the only way to be fully delivered.

If I could summarize it I would say water fasts break chains in a powerful a sudden way while DF uproot a change you from the entire mindset & stronghold that took you there in the first place & tries to shuffle one problem for another.  Thougj obviously there's more to it than that.   Both fasts we're painful & changing.

"A McMansion is a large house in a sub-division of similarly large houses, which all seem mass produced and lacking distinguishing characteristics, and at variance with established local architecture."

How about the breakdown in family values and the role it plays in social decline?

I like this idea...something to tie in family values, and marriage. And the decline of it in our society.

I have to in Step 5 (i think of this 7 step process) interview 5 people...and one of them has to be a "expert" in my topic. I could interview my Pastor for that! ha....I'm trying to think if anyone I know has a "degree" in this field.

Here are the steps to this project I have to do:
1. Write an Abstract (basically introducing my idea to people)
2. Create a survey (using surveymonkey) of 10 questions, and get 25 people to take it, and write about the results
3. Interview (5 people, one has to be an expert in my topic), video the interviews, and transpose them, and write about the results
4. Annotated Bibliography (summary of my research)
5. Biographical Sketch (to tell the audience about me to get my world and my topic)
6. Peer Feedback Discussion Board (post on my class website for peer feedback)
7. Creative Voice Presentation (basically compile the above 6 steps into a fancy presentation: research paper, collection of poems, a PowerPoint presentation etc etc...something along that)

This is all due by December 5th!
F r eaking out!!!!!!!!!  :o

Segregation vs. Congregation, how the the church accomplished what the civil rights movement fell short of.

For minis:  Parental demoralization directs social standard.

Along that same line... How Darwinism leads to abortion leads to Holocaust.  (true story)

Obfuscation (or beclouding) is the hiding of intended meaning in communication, making communication confusing, wilfully ambiguous, and harder to interpret.

In other news:  I forgot about make-up time at work.  Instead of losing the pay I missed yesterday, I can make it up over the rest of the week.  Which explains why I got home at slightly after 2am this morning instead of slightly after midnight.

My, but y'all have been chatterboxes... NOT!

What a day. Glad it's over. Just got back from Walmart grocery shopping, nearly had to "get ghetto" with the tire and lube guy.....Lou's Caddy was overdue for an oil change and my shop is currently full. Plus her car takes an oil filter that costs $11 bucks, so when I saw that Walmart was advertising an oil change for $26- I can't change it that cheap, so I let them. * Note- I know the guys that work there and they know what I do for a living so they are VERY cautous with my vehicles. I wouldn't necessarily reccomend Walmart otherwise*
I got back to pick up the car, total bill $41. :o I think not! After explaining calmly that that was not the advertised deal, and that I was not going to pay that, and that if they insisted several of my buddies would be needed, because I WOULD take one of the managers with me to the jail, by way of the hospital....... They reasonably decided that I was a) stupid enough to follow through and b) not going to back down, and gave me the oil change at the advertised price. Now I have to repent over my temper. :hypocrite:

And totally unrelated- if anyone ever sees me eating canned herring- please give generously, I am apparently starving. I had never tasted it before and they had a special on it so I bought a can. Never again. I will eat roadkill first. :laughhard:

I have caught some kind of cold that has got me coughing my lungs up. I have a ton of stuff to get done in the next two weeks I can't be down with a cold. Revival, three appointments next week. finish packing, tie up a lot of loose ends, and then get out of Dodge.  Could use some prayers for strength and healing from this cold. Took some prescription cough syrup maybe it will kick in and I will at least sleep tonight.

I cannot eat any canned meat at all. Canned chicken smells like  tuna. I can barely handle canned vegetables.  *shudder*

Good morning!  Finally got up with Nathan & made him breakfast.  I haven't done it for awhile.  He lets me sleep since he knows I'll be up at 6:30 making the kids' breakfast.  He's so sweet but it means he doesn't eat more than a piece of toast.

Broke out the stocking caps & gloves this morning.

Well I worked 2 hours over yesterday and the day before (making up for being sick Tuesday.)  Now for the 12 hour stretch today, 4 hours over.  If only I had been sick Monday instead, I could do 2 hours a day over for the rest of the week.

Oh well, it's still cool that the company lets me make up time like this.  I would have missed that money, I need all I can get for Youth Retreat.  Especially as Pentecostal Publishing will certainly have a booth set up, and of course I always need more music...

And while I am hesitant to claim victory over rusty radiator leaks/demon, I believe I have defeated it today with a new, larger radiator and alot of time..... and I did it without cursing a single time. :thumbsup2:
I am now stumbling around in between internet breaks cleaning the house up for Lou while she's gone with her mother. *Roscoe pats himself on the back for being a good hubby*

Hey, mini. When this spring rolls around and I get to do that little jaunt in rusty we've talked about- should we make sure that sarba ann's hubbby is shown the error of his ways in all things tractor? Their area is on my list of cruise through spots.... Wonder ifn Rusty will haul a john deere? :laughhard:

And I just bet Rusty can "infect" another gearhead.....then Sarba can suffer like Chellebelle and Lou....

Good morning!  Finally got up with Nathan & made him breakfast.  I haven't done it for awhile.  He lets me sleep since he knows I'll be up at 6:30 making the kids' breakfast.  He's so sweet but it means he doesn't eat more than a piece of toast.

Can you make something like breakfast burritos that he'd just have to microwave in the morning and keep them in the fridge?

At the library.  I'm frustrated.  We have our Christmas music for choir/praise team on www.markcondoniclub.com for everyone to access and download.  They also burned it to CD but it doesn't work.  So I'm trying to download all the alto tracks to the songs, which worked fine but this computer doesn't register the 2 blank cds I brought.  I had already downloaded all the songs to Nathan's phone for him but it didn't recognize my phone.  Blah.  I need to practice the most out of the whole lot of us cause I'm not musically educated but I can't seem to figure out how to do it.

I wish there was a website I could upload the mp3 files to that would let me access them from my phone.

It says that my CDs aren't recognized and may need formatted but it doesn't let me do that on this computer.  Blah!

If only Weird Cat was there, I'm sure he could fix it.

A shower fly is a fly that lives in the shower....up until a few years ago I thought they were indigenous to our house and shower only, but then discovered, they are not...lol  They're "drain flies."

:freaky:

Went to town, got some paint, and etc....  Finished up pretty much with the painting then....yay....I think.....

I use box.net for uploading files for other people to access.  I'm sure it would work for listening to them on your phone too.  It's free for files under 25 megs.  Just box.net, no .com.

About the blank CDs not working, dunno... I always use Memorex blanks and I've gotten maybe 5 bad CDs out of the hundreds and hundreds I've burned through.  On the other hand, some off brand the assistant pastor picked up for the sound booth had one bad CD out of every three or so.

In general SHARING news:  Howdy y'all!  After 4 hours sleep I got up, went to church, vacuumed most of it, went to work for 6 hours, went to the auction and bought a few things, went to Wal-Mart and bought some stuff for the Children's Church party tomorrow (and two cast iron pans for my niece who loves to cook)... and now I'm back at church, finished the little bit of vacuuming I had left and I'm about to type the bulletin.

I've heard people say of their activities, "Well it keeps the dust off ya."  There ain't no dust at all on me.     Today has been a lot of fun and very profitable though.

And though I don't like to rely on it regularly, in a pinch caffeine rocks!

Getting ready for the Children's Church party tonight.  Chocolate shakes... why in the world did I ever even think about giving them chocolate shakes?  Oh well, I guess I deserve whatever happens tonight.

Hot dogs and chips, shakes (with oreo (tm) straws,) a hangman tournament with the kid with the highest points getting a grand prize.  Hangman phrases will be taken from past lessons so if they listened in Children's Church they have a much better shot of winning.  In between hangman rounds I'll have other stuff - a relay race (winning team all gets a certain amount of points,) random questions related to the last hangman round, etc.

If asking for trouble like this doesn't mean I'm crazy, be patient.  By the end of the night I probably will be crazy anyway.

Taco eggs....I'd probably add taco seasoning and taco meat to eggs...I dunno...I had corn bread instead...

*sigh* I was in a great mood most of the day...now I'm a little bummed.

Funny story though...The row of seats I set at in church got taken away...I sit in the very back...I have since I started going to church...and sometimes our assistant pastor's amazing wife sits with us....well today she was talking during song service...NOT TO ME! so I got a text that our row of chairs is gone...I think that's a hint I need to "move on up" :D It made me laugh.

Actually we all had a good time, despite the chocolate+kids effect.  Only four wanted chocolate shakes anyway, the majority wanted vanilla.  K. C. won the grand prize.

 :hi:

As usual, I'm back at work. Got surprised last night when I was informed that due to family issues on the Sunday School teacher's part, I would be teaching the adult sunday school lesson. I had fifteen minutes to review a lesson I'd never read before and then it was time to teach it.  :o  I got a little sidetracked a couple of times and took off down uncharted paths, but it went amazingly well. Bro. Papa told me if I'd just continued and gave an altar call, he could've skipped preaching, so apparently I was in the right area. :biglaugh:

Y'all pray for me today.....gotta take someone to the firing range and their job is on the line. To some extent, there will be alot of pressure on me....I would appreciate the prayers.

@work.

The manager that I had all the conflict with got fired Saturday. I feel for his family that it's so close to the holidays, but it's for the best here.

I apparently have almost reached my body's limit of retail. Seems like my foot is experiencing some pain..normally it goes away, but this time it set up camp. Praying it (and my face problem) goes away soon!'

That's good Nelle! Hopefully you'll have some peace now until you move! I can understand conflict with bosses. I had a lady boss about a year and a half ago, who was making me physically ill. Literally, I would dread coming to work, I'd be SO stressed when she was around, I was anxious...it was making me physically ill.

No kidding MJJ! I felt bad when I was relieved to hear it! He jar wasn't a good fit for our store and he was too busy pushing an agenda, haha. Very few liked him, but we won't go into all of that. I'll just wish him well and enjoy the temporary quiet, haha. Now they'll start searching for another! But I've only got a few months left, so I will survive!! Haha.. :)

I'm sorta enjoying this mixed Christmas music in with our regular music. I've been singing along. :)

Hmmm...  I got to sleep about 11pm, got up about 9am.  Yum!  After a hectic weekend it feels good to be caught up on sleep again.

And I still have three two pies (burp) from the bake sale last Saturday.  And a batch of Grandma's chocolate oatmeal cookies that didn't set up the way she wanted (but those are the best kind!)

Life

So Roomie's cat is sick. So I Googled it (because Googled is as good as the vet :-P) BUT then I did ask the vet at the farm if I was right, and he said I most likely am...so this really got me to thinking...I think I would like to go to school to be a vet...or a vet tech...am I too old to go to college?

So I gave her cat a shot...it's cow meds, but if we don't so something he will just get worse. He has a kitty UTI...it happens a lot in older male cats that have been fixed from what I understand...the vet said the meds are the same just the doses are different...I mean honestly if it doesn't make him better...then we will have to make a vet appointment..which with all my fines recently we really can't afford...I just noticed how much I use ... in my typings... Silly ellipsis.

I never knew poo was windy, but the wind sure is kicking my minivan around every time I try to drive anywhere.  The trip to my music teacher today (last one of the year, shutting down for the holidays) was eventful and fraught with peril.  Not really, but it was interesting trying to drive the way the road goes when the wind was trying to drive me in a direction the road stubbornly refused to go.

I made it through the day. I'm still amazed by this officers' shooting..... a few weeks ago, she shot 50%. Thursday, after two weeks of intensive training, she shot one target that did not count for score and shot barely over the required 80%. I really expected her to fail today. She shot 92%. Unbelievable. Completely inconsistant, but she qualified.
Now I've just enjoyed a large slice of pizza and I'm ready to relax for the evening..... :waving:

In other news:  Went to work, came home, went to work, came home.

At first break I looked at the vending machines and a little voice in my head said, "You're going to pay 75 cents for THAT?!  You have chocolate oatmeal cookies at home!"  So at lunch break I went home and got some really good cookies.  All cookies are now gone and I have eaten way too much sugar tonight.

Bloomington is becoming highly unsettled and unsafe lately....

Recently, a pizza delivery guy or somebody from a pizza place on the south side, was shot and killed by someone trying to break in a car, the crook followed him into the store or something and shot him....  They got the guy, I forget if he turned himself in or what the deal was....

Yesterday a bank on the west side was robbed by a guy with a knife.  The police got him in the parking lot.

Today, a bank on the east side was robbed.  They didn't catch that crook so far I don't guess.

Last night I guess it was, a clerk at the adult entertainment store was stabbed to death by some guy, who later turned himself in.

I'm gonna just hide in the henhouse, if anybody needs me, cluck real loud.

If I thought it would help and work properly when reinstalled I would try it tonight. That said the swelling is putting pressure on the nerves behind the eye and causing the pain. Got shots and meds maybe it will go down by morning. Just in time for a trip to the dentist. lol

Whoa, that takes me back.  When I was a little kid my sister used to listen to that one album from that one group over and over and over and...     I know all the verses to that song and it's not even my kind of music.

In other SHARING news:  Went to work (last night,) came home, got a good night's sleep.  I have a fresh batch of records from my music teacher, a whole lot of practice drills I can do on the piano and a few songs for which I really want to make a soundtrack.

Don't anybody say anything about being bored - I'll invite you over here to help run records to computer.

You spelled it right, Cheese. I'm so proud of you. *sniff*

We don't have a Chick Fil A anywhere close. Weird. Everyone talks about them like they're... I dunno... as well known as Taco Bell or McD's or something. Apparently we're even more backwoodsy than I knew. ;)

My first impression of Chic Fil A was "they need to learn how to cook chicken."

I tried one closer, and their service won me over.

I -love- their nuggets, chicken minis, and sweet tea. Their nuggets chicken strips leave much to be desired. I think their service is even better than their food.

Chik fil a is not super widespread around here.  There is one in Bloomington in the mall.  Other than that I think the next near one that I am aware of would be up around Indy.....  At least that I know of offhand anyways....  And down south toward Louisville too... There may be other ones somewhere, I dunno.

Okay, looking on the website, there's apparently one on IU campus too....it says it's at the Library though..lol...strange, but okay. lol

Otherwise it does look to be the case that the next closest ones are up around Indy or down toward Louisville.

I was wondering about that the first time I read it, before your edit.  I thought either you typed something you didn't mean to type, there were two people making this post... or you have multiple personalities and one of you hates the nuggets while the other one of you likes them.

I am currently somewhat stressing my music computer.  I have it making an ogg vorbis copy of my whole collection - modern, old gospel from records, christmas music, classical and comedy tracks, 4,588 audio files in all - to put on my music player, AND doing the same thing as mp3 to burn to data DVDs to send to friends.

Usually if you use this program to transcode one album or something it will give you an estimate of how much time it will take.  Right now it won't even give an estimate.  Almost like it's telling me go get a cup of coffee, read the paper, paint the house... it's gonna be a while.

An i5 processor is a wonderful thing though.  It's not even getting warm.

It must be more of a southern thing.  We have 3 in the town I work in.  They used to be only in the malls and their slogan was "the taste worth shopping for" or something like that.  I was glad when they opened stand alone stores with drive throughs.  They have awesome chocolate shakes.  They are all closed on Sundays.

Lady Melodya,

I taught and preached from there Sunday, beginning with John 6 and on the theme of "gather the fragments"

Do y'all have church on Christmas Day, Lady Melodya?

John  :waving:

Hey Bro.John!

Sounds like a faith booster.

Yes, we do have service that day. No sunday school though. Service will start @ 10:45. If we do end up being in town, you are welcome to lunch with us.

Don't feel bad, I have never had Chick Fil A and apparently they are based in the Southeast. I know they exist though cause I borrowed their restroom once on a long trip. I told someone recently I had never eaten there and they looked at me as if I had just grown to extra heads. Not sure what all the hype about Chick Fil A is, but the way some act I am beginning to think it is some kind of cult. lol
