Well, the point was that if you allow or let one thing go, something else will follow right along behind.

That is tempting to misquote, but I guess I better not...

Newsman

Serth, seriously here,

Was the preacher basically saying that, if you allowed guys to wear scruff, the next thing that would happen is that women would want to wear skirts slit to their hip?

What camp meeting was it? Independent, some district or organization's camp meeting? And, just making certain, it was an Apostolic one?

I think he was saying allow guys to not shave and the ladies will follow suit. BOL!

He was saying that if you allow one thing, then something else will soon follow....scruff and short skirts just happened to be the first two examples....lol

It is a small localized org camp meeting, but the preacher preaching used to be (I've heard that church pulled out of the UPC...being of a more conservative ilk in some ways....I guess it's true, I don't know if they dropped out or not) UPC.

Unless...he means that guys wearing beards encouraged shorter skirts, in which case I'd like to see the math.  :hypocrite:

Oh dear...what in the world did yall do today!?!

Have you slapped that one dude from Indiana with a pie in the face today?

Melody

at an Iowa Camp one year a preacher lectured the campers that they're sideburns be no longer than a certain length, of which I don't remember what his measurement was.  He was very fired up about it.

It was junior camp mind you.  8-12 year olds.

And his other quote I'll never forget,

"If your mama didn't make your coulottes, they aint good enough"

(holds in BOL)

MelodyB

I wore coulottes...UGH. I cannot believe I did that. So gross!
