Due to circumstances beyond our control, health problems, and job losses our family will be homeless in just about 14 days.
Needless to say we are frustrated and stressed out beyond belief.
We have tried to get help from the county but they refuse to help us! Why? My wife recently found a temp / contract job. There is a good chance it will go perm. But I have not had an income in over two years and am working on my disability claim, my wife had been unemployed for 2/3rds of the last 2 years.
All I am asking is that you pray for our family.
I have not lost my faith in God - I know what the bible says about provision.
What I am interested in is this part ''Where two or more are gathered in my name...."
"Is there any sick among you, let them call on the elders of the church....''
"The effectual fervent prayer of the righteous......''
So I am asking simply... will you pray with us and for us?
Yes? No?
And Seth *glares* no sass!
Praying for you.
Praying. Looking forward to hearing testimony.
:o
Praying with you.
The hardest part of the testimony is the "test" part... praying. In JESUS' Name!
Praying! "God specializes in things that seem impossible."
Praying
Praying!!!
Praying!
He's provided shelter for me TWICE when I've been looking at homelessness. I know my God can do it for you too! I'm praying with you and yours Scott.
Odd. You get to know a person by what he posts on a forum and you think you know him, then something like this happens and you find out you don't really know much at all about him...
Will be praying.

Dealing with a pancreatic issue that put me out of work two years ago. When FMLA ran out my short term disability insurance refused to pay the coverage, even though the doctors are the ones who put me out of work. When I got ready to file the appeal, my employer canned me to keep me from doing that. I've been sans an income for two years. During that time my wife lost her job, took a temp job, that ended and she was out of work for almost 9 months. As of today she has a full time perm job.
We have to move 10/01 and well - that is where the stress kicks in.
Meanwhile, gotta continue praying, teaching bible studies, teaching my classes at church and doing what we need to do for the kingdom.
Praying for you and with you. I so wish there was more that I could do.
Praying, and sharing Jeremy's sentiment!
John
So far we have been provided with the First Months rent for when we find a place. (Partial answer to prayer.)
Now we need provision for the deposit AND a place to live.
Tomorrow we will be looking in to a sub-let on a condo - a very nice condo.
The problem is that the only people responding to us are either scammers or apartments in gangland areas of town.
Today is the 26th and the 1st is just a few days away... trying to remain positive.
Still praying sir.
And here.
Was praying for you on the way to work this morning. Hope things are working out.
GRRR
Looked at a condo last night, they said price was negotiable. YEAH RIGHT! If we didn't want to do stuff like buy groceries, pay tithes, put gas in the car and minor things like that we could afford his price.
:pound: the "price is negotiable" guy for Scott
Still praying.
Do keep us posted though. Tried Craigslist? I know you surely have, but I had to mention it just in case.
Yup CraigsList is where all the scammers were.
Of course...

They are almost always African Missionaries so you can trust them. So send them your money :freaky2: and they will mail you the keys and paperwork over night mail. :noo:
Update:
Two days and we are homeless.
We've been calling and emailing landlords and very few are calling or emailing back. One told me that this was a hard month because of school start ups etc...
We had a shot at a trailer, but that fell through.
It looks like we will be putting things in storage and staying at a motel for a while. Several complexes have open dates for 11/1 and we will be looking into that.
Please keep praying.
Thanks
Actually I was just about to ask what was happening on the home front. Hunted up this thread and you had just posted.
Sorry to hear that though... motel stays can be expensive.
Still praying Scott.
Still praying here, as well.
We just left a building that wants to bring us in as the caretakers of one 24 apartment unit. We would only have to do 30 hours per week of work for 33% off the rent. Vacuum halls, clean windows, laundry room, shovel and salt walks.
We will know tomorrow if they decide to hire us, if they do, they might let us use their guest suite for a few weeks until we can move into the Unit. A lady that used to attend our church works there and spoke up for us. So with some luck, prayer and help from God the crisis may be coming to a close.
Nothing set in stone yet, but I did sign the rental agreement today.
In JESUS' Name!
They are trying to get us approved, but the move in date is 11-15 and if approved they will try to get us an okay to use a guest suite until the 11-15.
A backslider from our church works there and spoke highly of me.
*fingers crossed and prayer going up*
Again, not approved, anything can happen. Basically they are basing it on using my son as the caretaker. I don't know how many people are in the running, I am just waiting.
Praying, brother!
Praying that everything will work out. Amazed at God's timeing. I pray your health improves.
We are approved for the buildilng job and apartment. We are 3 weeks away from being able to move in. Right now we are working on getting a temp place to stay. We have at week set up right now at a place, should work out for now.
Awesome. Still praying for you guys.
Praise GOD!! Continuing praying for God's direction and intervention in the interim.
I was just coming here to ask you how things were and to let you know that I thought of you and your family recently and prayed for you. But then I saw that I had missed a couple updates and that y'all had found a job and a place to stay. I'm so glad!
1.) My wife got robbed of $30.00 that we saved out for gas, leaving me stranded with little gas. A few hours later someone called and told me to drive to a gas station and hand phone to manager. He paid $30 for gas
2.) We had no money to pay for the next weeks rent at the motel, someone called me and gave us a check for the rent
3.) Money was very tight, didn't know when could get groceries or survive, someone handed me $100.00 via a hand shake at church
4.) We moved in to the guest suite at the complex, they gave us a huge discount
5.) The complex is giving us the entire month of November rent free
It has been an interesting month of highs and lows, but God is God.
Maybe God is trying to prove you can trust him, in a way that you can prove to yourself and lean on later. So many highs and lows in such a short time seems abnormal otherwise.
Awesome! God is a provider!
 My God is awesome!

*sigh*
Trust me, at my age and as much as we've been through over the last 28 years of marriage and two children... we already know.....
Praying.
So, how are things going for you, Scott?
