Police are searching for the driver of a stolen Dodge Ram that collided with a tree on Rabel Road on Tuesday. An Arkansa Police Officer affectionately known in this city as Officer Roscoe chased the driver into the woods before falling over an embankment and apparently spraining his ankle.

Officer Roscoer needed to be rescued after he fell down an embankment during a foot chase into the Rabel Mountain area.

On Tuesday afternoon, police spotted a 1991 Dodge Ram that was reported stolen driving along Corridor G.

The truck's driver, identified in a criminal complaint as Shane Anthony Hinzman, did not stop for police and instead drove onto Rabel Road near Alum Creek.

Hinzman, 20, of South Charleston, led police to Wolf Pen Farm where he hit a tree and then took off on foot into the woods.

Officer Roscoe followed Hinzman before apparently falling and injuring himself. Rescuers had difficulty locating Roscoe because he was out of radio signal reach.

Rescuers pulled Roscoe out with a rope and transported him to Thomas Memorial Hospital. He is believed to have a sprained ankle, said Cpl. D.C. Johnson of the South Charleston police.

Elizabeth Hinzman, a passenger in the truck and Shane Hinzman's sister, was arrested near the scene of the collision. She is 22 and lives in Cross Lanes.
